Trump Says He Watches a Lot of Fox News, That He Also Says is ‘Totally Fake’ and ‘Unwatchable’

The convolutions of Donald Trump’s character are too numerous and perverse to succinctly summarize. Suffice to say that he is a twisted bundle of frayed nerves and psychoses. His contradictions and hypocrisies are legendary. And anyone who thinks that they can anticipate his behavior – other than as hostile and self-serving – is fooling themselves.

Donald Trump, Fox News, Fake

In a new interview conducted by Raheem Kassam of the ultra-rightist National Pulse, Trump put this personality disorder on display. It was 36 minutes of incoherent rambling and rehashing of the same delusional talking points that he has been dispensing for years.

RELATED: Trump Bombs on Meet the Press, Behaving Like a Petulant Toddler Who Couldn’t Stop Lying

The interview began with Kassam asking Trump about the state of immigration: “Did you ever think you’d see this level of American Carnage?” That was a throwback reference to Trump’s infamous “American Carnage” inauguration address. Trump’s reply was a typically tortured tirade that utterly avoided reality…

“No. Nobody has ever seen anything like this. […] Nobody has any idea where these people are coming from. We know they come from prisons. We know they come mental institutions, insane asylums. We know they’re terrorists. Nobody has ever seen anything like we’re witnessing right now. It is a very sad thing for our country. It’s poisoning the blood of our country. It’s so bad.”

So in a single reply Trump asserted that “Nobody has any idea where these people are coming from,” then proceeds to tell Kassam where they are coming from. And, of course, it was all completely false and profoundly racist. He went on to lie that there were zero terrorists intercepted by border patrol during his occupation of the White House. (Fact Check: 216 people on the terrorist watchlist were apprehended this year. There were 280 in 2019 during the Trump administration).

The interview briefly touched on Trump’s television habits. We know that he was an avid viewer of Fox News and other right-wing media while allegedly serving as president. He was reported to have watched as much as eight hours of television every day. Most of that was Fox News or some other Trump-fluffing outlet that catered to his massive yet fragile ego. And apparently nothing has changed, according to Trump in the following portion of the interview (see video below beginning at 4:20)

Kassam: You make a point about the press and the media. And I think that most of the media is quite hostile towards you. I think one that I think people are surprised that have been hostile towards you has been Fox. Especially recently…
Trump: We’ve done well with Fox over the years. […] But somehow there’s just an edge there. You take a look at the anchors, look at Sean Hannity, Laura’s been great. They’ve been good. But there’s an overhang if you just feel, there’s something missing.
Kassam: But do you think [Rupert Murdoch] is going, he kind of went all in against you in this primary cycle. And I think he’s realized now that he’s not gonna win that battle. Do you think that’s why he’s kind of shuffling…
Trump: Well they put everything against DeSanctimonious. And he’s not a talented person. He’s just not a talented person. He only won because I endorsed him. He was at 3%, he was dead, and I endorsed him. […]

[Note: It’s always been curious how Trump frequently brags about having endorsed people who he considers losers and liars and incompetents, and then takes credit for their political victories. Why the heck did he endorse them?]

Trump: The anchors are so good. Jesse [Watters] has been great. Greg [Gutfeld] has been great. You look at what he’s done, right? They’ve all been good. You look on Saturday, it’s been fantastic with Pete Hegseth, Rachel [Campos-Duffy], Will [Cain]. So we get a lot of good support. And lately Brian Kilmeade’s been great. But Steve Doocy’s been terrible. I mean, to me he’s been just terrible. He’s hurting the show. Ainsley [Earhardt] is good. […]
Kassam: You still watch it a lot then?
Trump: Yeah, I watch it. I watch it. I watch it, and I watch Newsmax. I try not to watch the other…There’s so much fake news. I mean honestly, somebody like MSNBC, it’s so bad and so vicious, and same thing with CNN, but maybe even to a lesser extent. But I watch these two and honestly, it’s a campaign contribution what they do. It’s a campaign contribution. And they should pay a lot of money. Somebody has to pay for this. Because that’s an absolute campaign contribution. And they can’t be allowed to be able to get away with this. It’s so unfair.

So Trump watches quite a bit of Fox News, despite the fact that he has recently maligned them saying that “Fox News is dead,”, and that “Fox News daytime is not watchable,” and that “Fox News Polls are totally FAKE.”

Trump’s idea of a free press is one that is consistently adoring of him, and anything less than worshipful devotion is tantamount to treason. He recently used that exact language to condemn the media saying that “They are almost all dishonest and corrupt [and] should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason.’” He elaborated threatening that “when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized,” and that they should not “be entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA,” and that they “should pay a big price for what they have done.”

SEE THIS: Wannabe Dictator Trump Promises to Prosecute the ‘Country Threatening Treason’ of the Media

The rest of the interview was boilerplate, dishonest Trumpisms about abortion after birth, which is not a thing; the January 6th insurrection that he incited; his efforts to overturn the election with fake electors; the Mueller report and what he calls the Russia, Russia, Russia scam; and of course, his perpetual preposterous whining about Biden being incompetent and/or corrupt. In other words, it was Trump being Trump, and abandoning what the rest of us recognize as a little thing called reality.

Wannabe Dictator Trump Promises to Prosecute the ‘Country Threatening Treason’ of the Media

Donald Trump’s campaign for the 2024 Republican nomination for president has focused almost entirely on his personal vendetta against Democrats in general, President Biden in particular, and the media that he repeatedly maligns in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” He has replaced his “MAGA” mantra with “I am your retribution.”

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Ever since he lost the election in 2020, Trump has been obsessed with trying to persuade people that the election was “rigged and stolen.” He has had no success with that “Big Lie” propaganda outside of the tiny confines of his glassy-eyed cult following. But that hasn’t stopped him from dispensing his perverse and paranoid perception of a world in which he is a victim bearing the cross of an imaginary cabal of persecutors.

RELATED: Trump is Flush With Fear Over His Dreadful Future and the Deluge of Justice That’s Coming

On Sunday Trump posted a flurry of bizarre ravings on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, that are striking confirmations of his declining mental state. They all made ample use of the caps lock key that Trump abuses to accentuate his mood disorders. But the most disturbing post was an extended tirade wherein he accused the media of treason and pledged to punish them for daring to commit journalism.

“They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC NEWS, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason.’ Their endless coverage of the now fully debunked SCAM known as Russia, Russia, Russia, and much else, is one big Campaign Contribution to the Radical Left Democrat Party. I say up front, openly, and proudly, that when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things, and events. Why should NBC, or any other of the corrupt & dishonest media companies, be entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA, FREE? They are a true threat to Democracy and are, in fact, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! The Fake News Media should pay a big price for what they have done to our once great Country!”

In Trump’s demented mind, NBC’s reporting constitutes “treason” and is a “threat to Democracy.” And if he is reelected he will see to it that they, and the rest of the media, “pay a big price.” That sort of talk is not new for Trump. He is a virulent opponent of the press and will shut them all down if given the opportunity. He says so explicitly with his promise to “investigate” his media critics and even remove them from the airwaves should they fail to comply. Except for those who cater to his dreams of tyranny. That’s what aspiring authoritarians do.

The only example of any wrongdoing by the press that Trump mentions is what he calls the “fully debunked SCAM known as Russia, Russia, Russia.” For the record, Trump’s unsavory relationships with Russia have not only never been debunked, they have been verified and documented by the courts, by the Mueller Report, and even by the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee Report.

MORE HERE: GEEZ! Trump is STILL Obsessed With the ‘Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax’ that is NOT a Hoax

What appears to have triggered this Trump tantrum is the fallout from his recent appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” He was interviewed by Kristen Welker who actually let him get away with several glaring whoppers about everything from abortion to the January 6th insurrection that he incited. However, he also managed to sabotage himself with his reckless chatter that conceded his responsibility for illegal efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

SEE ALSO: Trump Bombs on Meet the Press, Behaving Like a Petulant Toddler Who Couldn’t Stop Lying

In addition to undermining the Constitution and the First Amendment, Trump posted a comment that ordered his GOP confederates in Congress to push for a costly and harmful government shutdown, saying “UNLESS YOU GET EVERYTHING, SHUT IT DOWN!” He also demanded that “Senate Democrats should all resign” due to the indictment of Sen. Bob Menendez. If that’s the criteria that he’s resting his case on, then all Republicans should resign nationwide due to Trump’s four criminal indictments on 91 felony charges.

With each new day Trump seems to validate the worst characteristics of his malignant narcissistic psychosis. His totalitarian tendencies become more prominent. And his disregard for the Constitution and the welfare of the nation grows deeper and more darkly ominous. And what’s worse is that there appears to be no bottom to his deplorable and dystopian dreams.

White House Memo to Media Calls for Scrutiny of the GOP’s Baseless, Bogus Push to Impeach Biden

The Republican Party, under the “leadership” of House Squeaker Kevin McCarthy, seems hell-bent on proving that they have no interest whatsoever in governing on behalf of the American people that they purport to represent. They are establishing themselves as the modern day Inquisition on a mission to smear their political foes.

Dark Biden, Fox News

The revenge agenda of the GOP is noticeably driven by the tedious tantrums of their Dear Leader, Donald Trump. Since even before the 2020 election, he has been obsessively focused on fabricating wholly dishonest attacks on Democrats and President Biden. As a indication of just how fixated Trump is on bashing Biden, he has retracted his longtime, infantile nickname of “Crooked Hillary” and replaced it with “Crooked Joe.” And he has been instrumental in pushing McCarthy to empanel an impeachment inquiry that is purely partisan and politically motivated.

SEE ALSO: Trump Shows Off His Ignorance and Detachment From Reality in Rabid Rants to Impeach Biden

In response to McCarthy’s impeachment inquiry announcement, the White House sent a memo to the media with the apt subject line asserting that “It’s Time For The Media To Do More To Scrutinize House Republicans’ Demonstrably False Claims That They’re Basing Impeachment Stunt On.” (See also the memo’s appendix debunking several blatant GOP lies) The memo’s author, Ian Sams, Special Assistant to the President and Spokesman for White House Counsel’s Office, opened the communication saying that…

“After nearly 9 months of investigating, House Republicans haven’t been able to turn up any evidence of the President doing anything wrong. But House Republicans led by Marjorie Taylor Greene are nonetheless opening a baseless impeachment inquiry of President Biden – despite many House Republicans openly admitting there is no evidence on which to support it.”

The memo notes that as many as 30 Republicans have expressed their reluctance to initiate an impeachment inquiry due to the total absence of any credible grounds for doing so. There are also quotes from seven Republicans who concede that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by Biden and thus, no justification for McCarthy’s partisan political stunt. Among them are such conservative stalwarts as Ken Buck of Colorado, Dave Joyce of Ohio, Dusty Johnson of South Dakota, and Don Bacon of Nebraska.

The memo condemns House Republicans for “lurching toward impeachment over allegations that are not only unfounded but, in virtually all cases, have been actively disproven – including by witnesses and documents in their own investigations.” The memo goes on to note that “reporting that solely focuses on process rather than substance is woefully inadequate when it comes to something as historically grave as impeachment.” Elaborating, the memo suggests that…

“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies. When even House Republican members are admitting that there is simply no evidence that Joe Biden did anything wrong, much less impeachable, that should set off alarm bells for news organizations.” […]

“And in the modern media environment, where every day liars and hucksters peddle disinformation and lies everywhere from Facebook to Fox, process stories that fail to unpack the illegitimacy of the claims on which House Republicans are basing all their actions only serve to generate confusion, put false premises in people’s feeds, and obscure the truth.”

It’s appropriate that the memo calls out Fox News. On Tuesday’s episode of their top-rated “The Five,” co-host and self-anointed comic genius, Greg Gutfeld, embraced the lack of any factual basis saying that “Zero evidence doesn’t matter because the first Trump impeachment there was more evidence for Bigfoot.” Of course, there were mountains of evidence in both of Trump’s impeachments, mostly provided by Republicans.

RELATED STORY: UH-OH: Even Fox News Rejects the GOP’s ‘Evidence’ to Impeach Biden as ‘Completely Unverified’

What’s more, Fox News host, and former Trump press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, complained that the White House memo was a propaganda effort and was “telling the media organizations what to do.” In reality, it was the sort of routine request that she made hundreds of times when she worked at the White House. At least she squeezed into her segment the part of the memo that referred to House Republicans “opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies.”

Finally, the lone, embattled liberal on “The Five,” Jessica Tarlov, managed to address this memo for a couple of rare, uninterrupted minutes (video below). She did a great job, quoting some of the Republicans noted above who are resisting their leader’s impeachment obsession. She also pointed out some of McCarthy’s flaming hypocrisies and contradictions. Which, when looking at his time in office, is pretty much all he has.

Tucker Carlson’s New Twitter Show Announcement is a Steaming Mess of Incoherent Contradictions

Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the Internet. Former Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, has announced that he will be launching a new “show” on twitter. He doesn’t provide any details of how he will accomplish that, or what a Twitter show would look like, but he’s got an ego just big enough to believe that this will thrust him back into the media spotlight. He’s wrong.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, STFU

Carlson’s proposed Twitter show is his attempt to remain relevant after being banished from his perch on cable news. However, he might want to check with Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck to see if there is life after Fox for hostile purveyors of dishonest, right-wing propaganda. Like them, he would become a footnote in the cyber world hollering into the void to a diminished audience of drooling deplorables.

RELATED: A Post-Mortem on Tucker Carlson Following His Unusually Abrupt Departure From Fox News

Undaunted, Carlson is marching ahead with his arrogant aspirations. He is reported to be pursuing affiliations with Donald Trump and Elon Musk to pump up his paltry prospects. And to that end, Carlson announced that he will take his canceled TV tantrums to Twitter. [NOTE: Musk claims that “We have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever.”] In the introductory video (posted below), Carlson said that…

“You often hear people say the news is full of lies, but that’s not exactly right. Much of what you see on television or read in the New York Times is, in fact, true in the literal sense.”

Okay. So Carlson is defending the truthfulness of most of what you see and read in the news. An interesting position from someone who has been proven to have lied brazenly and literally declared that “misinformation can be true.” However, Carlson followed that up immediately by saying that while most news reports would pass fact checks, “that doesn’t make it true. It’s not true.” According to Carlson, the news is both truthful and “At the most basic level, the news you consume is a lie.” He really needs to make up his mangled mess of a mind.

Carlson says that the media’s lies are the result of withholding “perspective.” And that, as a result, “You are being manipulated.” But perspective, by definition, is opinion. It is an addendum to factual reporting that may or may not be factual. It is opinion that is most likely to be the tool of manipulation. And it is opinion that is the core of what Carlson produces. It is Carlson who is, and always has been, manipulating you.

So after asserting that the media tells the truth, except for when it lies and/or manipulates you, Carlson proceeds to insist that the media is lying virtually all the time…

“That’s what the news media are doing. In every story that matters, every day of the week, every week of the year? What’s it like to work in a system like that? After more than 30 years in the middle of it, we could tell you stories.”

Indeed, Carlson could tell us “stories,” which, ironically, is a synonym for lies. He is effectively confessing that he has lied to his audience for 30 years. And given that confession, why should he change now? So he goes on to complain that there are “limits” to freedom of speech in the media, and that “if you bump up against those limits often enough you will be fired for it.” Here Carlson is obliquely referencing his firing from Fox News without saying so explicitly. And he offers no evidence that his firing had anything to do with the limits he is alleging. To the contrary, he was terminated for reasons that had to do with his own dishonesty and hostility toward his audience, colleagues, and bosses. Carlson is manipulating you.

Carlson continues by implying that his messy separation from Fox News resulted from some sort of censorship that was imposed upon him. “You can’t have a free society,” he warned, “if people aren’t allowed to say what they think is true.” First of all, what you “think is true” is not necessarily the same as what is actually true. Once again, Carlson is confusing opinion with facts. Secondly, he had ample opportunity to say what he thought was true. In fact, that’s what got him fired. Carlson is manipulating you.

Finally, Carlson concludes with a blisteringly preposterous assertion about the state of free speech in America today:

“Amazingly, as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech. The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter [and that] Twitter is not a partisan site”

What the holy f**k? Can Carlson really believe that Twitter is the only platform in the world that allows free speech? And that it is not partisan? Under the horrifically biased mismanagement of Elon Musk, Twitter has become the platform of choice for racists, neo-Nazis, anti-Semites, and a broad array of ultra right-wing conspiracy theorists. But before you claim that that is proof that it respects free speech, consider that other more reasonable and decent voices are suppressed, shadow-banned, and tagged with so-called “community notes” that disparage those views.

Despite Carlson’s ludicrous pronouncements of Twitter’s non-partisan free for all, he closes by contradicting himself and criticizing Twitter as a place where “for the most part, the news… comes from media organizations that are themselves thinly disguised propaganda outlets. [i.e. Fox News] The result may feel like a debate, but actually, the gatekeepers are still in charge.” So Twitter doesn’t practice free speech and isn’t non-partisan after all? Carlson is manipulating you.

Carlson then calls that “a bad system,” and says that he’s “sick of it.” But then abruptly flips gears to gleefully announce that he is “bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter.” The bad system that he is sick of?

Carlson’s proposed Twitter show could come at great cost to him. He would likely be breaching contractual agreements with Fox News. Dylan Byers of Puck News reports that “He will forgo at least $25 million owed to him by Fox Corp. in order to break non-compete clause.” And in anticipation of a bloody battle with Fox, Axios reports that Carlson has preemptively “accused [Fox News] Tuesday of fraud and breach of contract — and made a host of document demands that could precede legal action.” Although Fox has already lobbed some bombs of their own…

SEE THIS: Fox News ‘Demands’ that Media Matters Stop Publishing Leaked Videos of Tucker Carlson

The Fox News/Tucker Carlson divorce has hurt both of them. Carlson will lose money and access to Fox’s millions of viewers. And Fox is already bleeding those viewers. In the end, Carlson is just validating why his own Fox News lawyers defended him in a defamation lawsuit by arguing that “no reasonable person” would believe anything he said. Carlson is most definitely, deliberately, and dreadfully manipulating you.

With Lawsuits, Lost Hosts, and Lying Pundits, the Future of Fox News Has Never Been Weaker

For the past week the biggest story in media has been the firing of Tucker Carlson by Fox News. While that was indeed a newsworthy event, there are collateral consequences that are being ignored that will eventually have an even more profound impact on both politics and media.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

Carlson fans are actually celebrating his expulsion from Fox News and insisting that it will only make him more influential and powerful as an advocate for the neo-fascist agenda for which he has been the mainstream media’s most prominent spokesman. They foolishly believe that the number of times his post-termination video was viewed on Twitter is proof that he, as an individual, has greater clout than Rupert Murdoch’s multibillion dollar media conglomerate. But they might want to check with Murdoch before popping those champagne corks.

RELATED: Fox News Has Muzzled Talker Tucker Carlson, as Seen in His Hysterical Post-Termination Video

In the real world, Carlson can look forward to precisely the same political celebrity status that Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck have achieved since they were fired by Fox News (i.e. pathetic has-beens). There is a long trail of road kill lining the highway of sacked media stars.

However, the future doesn’t look any better for Fox News. They will surely survive the loss of a loser like Carlson, just as they did O’Reilly and Beck. In fact, they will probably find a replacement who surpasses Carlson’s capacity for crackpot conservatism. But that doesn’t mean that Fox News will have a clear path ahead.

In addition to the Carlson conundrum, Fox News also was just forced to pay 3/4 of a billion dollars to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems. Another voting technology company, Smartmatic, is next in line with a similar lawsuit. That case is already shaping up as a major problem for Fox News.

SEE THIS: Judge in Smartmatic Defamation Lawsuit Orders Fox News to Turn Over ‘Missing’ Documents

What’s more, all of these ill winds for Fox are blowing while they are in negotiations to renew their cable carriage contracts. They presently receive one of the highest carriage fees in the business. But are cable companies going to be anxious to continue paying a premium for a network that is firing their top rated hosts, being sued for defamation, getting exposed as liars, and having to spend their money on court settlements rather than programming.

Furthermore, Fox’s ratings have suffered steep declines since Carlson’s banishment. his former timeslot has lost 50% of its audience in just four days. It’s getting beat by MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes.” And the abutting programs are also losing viewers.

Advertisers have already checked out. Most major advertisers refused to be associated with the repulsive content that Carlson spewed. Hate speech, bigotry, and pro-Putin, anti-American totalitarianism doesn’t sell Campbell’s Soup or Ford Trucks. Carlson’s show was being almost solely supported by Mike Lindell’s MyPillow ads. And even that has been a rocky relationship.

SEE THIS: UH-OH: Tucker Carlson’s Biggest Advertiser – MyPillow – Pulls All of its Ads From Fox News

Fox News has tried to pretend that this advertiser exodus hasn’t affected their bottom line. They claim that advertisers who didn’t want their ads on Carlson’s show were moved to other shows. But there is no way that an advertiser is going to pay the same rate for some other, lower rated program, as they would have for Carlson. So Fox was obviously lying about not losing any revenue. And that was recently affirmed by none other than Rupert Murdoch’s own Wall Street Journal (as reported by Media Matters).

The confluence of lawsuit payouts. lost revenue, fired hosts, and cable carriage fee downgrades, is going to make the next few months particularly difficult for Fox News. Add to that the animosity of their former fans who are vowing to boycott the network because they believe it has now joined the radical, leftist, Soros-backed, commie, deep state, cabal that is beholden to fake President Biden, and what you have is a convergence of catastrophe. Can Fox News weather this storm? Stay tuned.

Trump Brags About the Fake ‘Ratings’ of His Self-Exalting Reality TV Show in East Palestine

Donald Trump’s gargantuan, yet fragile, ego made another appearance this week at a shamelessly staged photo-op at the site of the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. And, true to form, Trump displayed the one constant character flaw that he has clung to for decades in public life: his frothing obsession with how he is characterized in the media.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump TV Set

Trump gauges the success of everything he does by how well it is covered by the press. It doesn’t even matter if it is positive or negative coverage, as long as he is at the center of it. The twice-impeached, former reality TV game show host regards media attention and television ratings as the final arbiter and definitive authority of one’s inherent human value. Too bad for him that those metrics have been sharply declining.

RELATED: Reality Game Show ‘President’ Trump Thinks TV Ratings are ‘The Real Polls’

Consequently, it isn’t surprising that following his wholly contrived circus act in East Palestine, Trump boasted about how magnificently it was received by the media. Although it was nothing more than a patronizing parade of pomposity wherein he distributed Trump-branded water and MAGA hats as if it were just another one of his cult rallies, Trump was elated by the allegedly massive audience that he imagined witnessed the affair. Never mind that it was not covered by any significant news outlet. Every broadcast network, as well as CNN, MSNBC, and even Fox News, ignored his self-serving sideshow.

However, that didn’t stop Trump from reveling in imaginary glory with a post on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social that hailed his pretend popularity. The posting was headlined “VIEWERSHIP REPORT.” It stated, preposterously, that there were 178,052,414 people who watched his Trainwreck Tour on traditional and social media. The accompanying text read that…

“This report searched for the term ‘East Palestine’ + ‘Trump’ what you will see is while traditional outlets like Fox News are woefully derelict in their reporting with what you did, the word is still getting out there in a big way. Specifically, when the announcement was made last week there was a bump of coverage reaching about 2 million on social channels and 10 million on other channels.”

It’s interesting that Fox News is the only network that Trump calls out by name. Setting that aside, there are a couple of other obvious problems with this “reporting.” First of all, nowhere in this post is there any indication of the source of these numbers. It is therefore reasonable to conclude that they were pulled straight out of his assumptions and delusions of grandeur.

Secondly, by merely searching for the terms “East Palestine” and “Trump,” the results, from whatever source, would include instances where the context would be decidedly contrary to the celebratory impressions that trump is implying. For instance, they would include any reference to “Trump insulted the good people of East Palestine,” or “East Palestine was demonstrably harmed by Trump exploiting their hardship.”

Oblivious to that reality, the post went on to say that…

“The visit meant a lot for the people of East Palestine and the surrounding communities. The trip gave them hope and raised the awareness needed to combat the incompetence of the Biden Administration. As you will see a sharp spike in the positive sentiments as well.”

Once again, there is absolutely nothing that supports any of those assertions. What’s more, it leaves out the fact that many observers – locally and in the national press – criticized Trump’s presence in the area as selfish, disruptive, and insensitive. And despite petulantly lashing out at President Biden, Trump also leaves out the fact that he never visited any of the many train derailments – some with fatalities – during his term in office. He also completely ignores the fact that his own policies may have contributed to the disaster in East Palestine. That was even noted by Steve Doocy, co-host of Fox and Friends:

“Apparently regulations regarding train safety were changed during the Trump administration. This particular railroad and others lobbied president Trump to dismantle an Obama era rule that would have required railroads to update their braking system […] The Trump administration undid that and said the cost exceeded the benefit.”

By tying himself to television ratings – especially fake ones – Trump is putting himself at risk of being the cause of his own humiliation. That’s because his popularity has been in a steep decline since he was evicted from the White House by the American people. And it’s been evident in the lackluster attendance of his recent events, and even more to the point, in his TV ratings, such as when he announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination for president…

SEE THIS: Trump’s Dreary Campaign Announcement Speech Drew Dismal TV Ratings

UPDATE: Trump called in to Glenn Beck’s very low rated Internet program to say that Pete Buttigieg “came [to East Palestine] the next day and played to very small crowds.” Note that Trump is still obsessed with crowd size and that he said “played,” further affirming that he sees his role in public service as theater.

Ron DeSantis Seeks to Muzzle the Media with Unconstitutional Libel Law Reforms – Just Like Trump

There is clearly something in the swamp water in Florida that makes its Republican politicians emulate the anti-American derangement of one another. That would account for how Ron DeSantis, while ostensibly preparing to challenge Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination for president is, instead, turning into an even more extreme copy of the twice impeached, former reality TV game show host.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis

Politico is reporting that the majority Republican Florida legislature is drafting a bill that would severely threaten the free press were it to be found constitutional – which it surely would not be if the Supreme Court were occupied by fair-minded Justices. To be sure there are some serious problems with the media as witnessed by the lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News.

RELATED: In Dominion v Fox News, Network Cries ‘We Can’t Make People Think We’ve Turned Against Trump’

However, the reforms sought by DeSantis are dangerously oppressive and intended only to intimidate journalists and silence his critics. According to Politico

“At the governor’s urging, Florida’s Republican-dominated Legislature is pushing to weaken state laws that have long protected journalists against defamation suits and frivolous lawsuits. The proposal is part [of] DeSantis’ ongoing feud with media outlets like The New York Times, Miami Herald, CNN and The Washington Post — media companies he claims are biased against Republicans — as he prepares for a likely 2024 presidential bid.

“Beyond making it easier to sue journalists, the proposal is also being positioned to spark a larger legal battle with the goal of eventually overturning New York Times v. Sullivan, the landmark 1964 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that limits public officials’ ability to sue publishers for defamation.”

The DeSantis proposal would make it easier to sue media for defamation. It would also remove journalists’ protection from having to reveal confidential sources, and mandate by law that such reported comments are presumed false in court proceedings. These reforms are contrary to the Constitution and 250 years of legal precedents. They would have a chilling effect on the press and discourage honest reporting.

That discouragement is, of course, precisely the goal of DeSantis. He has assumed the identical position of Trump – and their authoritarian heroes like Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping – with regard to suppressing the media. Politico notes that DeSantis has been “refusing to conduct interviews with platforms except Fox News.” That was the same strategy employed by Trump for most his campaigns and presidency. Although lately Trump has taken to even attacking his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News.

RELATED: Trump’s 2023 New Year’s Wish: Hopefully American Newspapers Will Go Out of Business

However, DeSantis is actually taking this unconstitutional obsession even farther than Trump by committing it to law. Trump often threatened to do so, but never followed through. In January of 2018 Trump whined that

“Our current libel laws are a sham and a disgrace and do not represent American values or American fairness. So we’re gonna take a strong look at that.”

Perhaps the reason that Trump chickened out was because he would have opened a can of worms that would have devoured him. No one has exposed himself to more potential libel allegations than Trump. Every time he calls a reporter a liar, or asserts as fact that unnamed sources don’t exist, or alleges that a story was deliberately made up, or unleashes one of his infantile and insulting nicknames on a reporter, Trump is slandering those reporters and harming their reputations and careers.

Someone may have warned Trump to be careful what he wishes for. After all, there have been literally thousands of comments and tweets by Trump that were demonstrably false, but manifestly injured their targets. For instance, what about the sixteen women who have spoken out about Trump’s sexual abuse? He called every one of them liars? One of them, E. Jean Carroll, is currently suing him for defamation.

If DeSantis were smart (doubtful), he would abandon these ill-considered reforms. They are only likely to backfire on him. There are already plenty of safeguards in current law that protect people from deliberate slander and libel. Even if committed by the media. Just ask Dominion Voting Systems.

That, however, isn’t sufficient for Republican press haters who are more interested in censorship than freedom. Consequently, politicians like Trump and DeSantis, who are afraid of a free press, are seeking to shut it down. Trump has already gone to great lengths to do so, and in the process proved that current laws are more than adequate.

Trump Spawn Donnie Jr Accuses the Liberal Media of Suppressing the Monterey Park Mass Shooting Story

Has Donald Trump Jr been hunkered down in daddy’s Mar-a-Lago bunker for the past week? Or maybe he’s visiting Brazil to help the insurrectionists there undermine Brazilian democracy. Perhaps he’s just in a snow-blind stupor wondering if Kimberly has found his stash.

Donald Trump Jr

The horrific news about the mass shooting in Monterey Park, CA, has saturated the airwaves for days. There has been extensive analysis of the crime and possible motives. There was live coverage of the police when they found the suspect’s body in a van. There were numerous press conferences by local authorities carried live. And yet, Donnie Jr posted this…

“You think you’d hear a lot more about the mass shooting of 10 people in California… But don’t worry you won’t hear anything about it because it wasn’t done by a white conservative man with an assault rifle. Doesn’t work for the narrative so it basically never happened!”

Really? Has Lil Don become so wrapped up in his right-wing world that his eyes and ears have glazed over. The tragic shooting has been the lead story in every newspaper and on every news network since it happened.

Well, every news network except for Fox News, where they spent ten minutes this morning on the sensationalized version of the Biden documents pseudo-scandal. They featured a clip of Rep. James Comer, the GOP chair of House Oversight Committee, baselessly asserting “influence peddling” by Biden. Although, for some reason he never mentioned Donald Trump’s far worse criminal activities, hoarding hundreds of classified documents that he lied to the FBI about having.

Following the grossly prejudiced propaganda about President Biden, Fox News segued to a story about Mexican immigrants and drug cartels. It took them twenty minutes to get to any news about the mass shooting in California.

No wonder Trumpette hasn’t heard anything about the Monterey Park massacre. And it’s notable that he doesn’t seem to care either. He offers no condolences, or even thoughts and prayers. He shares that insensitivity with his father who posted a single comment about the shooting on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that completely avoided any concerns for the victims or their families.

Instead, Trump twisted his remarks into a perverse and partisan rant about a “horrible gun wielding ANTIFA protest” in Atlanta that he pulled straight out of his asinine imagination, and a lament about the treatment of the January 6th traitors who assaulted Congress in an attempt to overthrow America’s democracy.

Naturally, DJTJr tries to make this all about white grievance with his insinuations about the shooter’s race and the motivations of the media. Of course, he has no facts to support his fictional frenzy. And the broad coverage of the story, by everyone but Fox, just proves how biased and ignorant he is.

Finally, it’s notable that he posted this foolishness on Twitter rather than daddy’s social media scam site. Clearly he is just as pessimistic about its prospects as papa Trump is.

LOL: Trump Starts 2023 with a New Year’s Eve Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago but Nobody Came

HAPPY NEW YEAR! As we say goodbye to 2022, we can look back at a year with some notable victories, as well as some difficult hardships. While COVID is still with us, it has receded from being the oppressive plague that shrouded humankind in fear and mourning. And while Vladimir Putin continues his assault, Ukraine has valiantly defended itself against the Russian aggressors. And while inflation has lessened the dollar’s value, job creation and wages have increased by record amounts.

The same dichotomies were present last year politically. While Republicans secured a majority (barely) in the House of Representatives, Democrats gained a seat in the Senate, made significant inroads in state legislatures, and thwarted the predicted “red wave.”

Now, if New Year’s Eve at Mar-a-Lago is any indication, we can look forward to a year of more failure for Donald Trump and his worshipful GOP cult followers. According to reports from the snooty soiree, Trump had invited the press to attend an end-of-year avail at his resort/home. However, in a prelude to what 2023 holds for him, not a single representative from a reputable news organization showed up. Even Trump-fluffing outlets like Newsmax and Fox News declined his invitation.

The media that refused to waste their New Year’s Eve on another Trump propaganda spew didn’t miss very much. He spoke for fewer than five minutes, and dodged pertinent questions about abortion and his prospective GOP primary opponent, Ron DeSantis (video below). He did, however, manage to squeeze out a response to a blatantly biased inquiry into his lies about the FBI and Department of Justice persecuting him. The question came from a “correspondent” from Steve Bannon’s “War Room”, vlog, Jayne Zirkle, who asked…

Zirkle: Mr. President, the DoJ and the FBI have weaponized against you. Will you commit to going after them in your second term?
Trump: I think it’s disgraceful what’s happened with the FBI and the weaponization of justice. There’s never been anything like this, and it is disgraceful.

Trump also replied to a question about how his campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is going. He said simply that it is going “very well.” Which is puzzling considering that he hasn’t had any campaign events, or even left his Mar-a-Lago bunker, since he announced his candidacy a month and a half ago.

The snub that Trump received from the press isn’t likely to soothe his fierce animosity toward the media and the Constitution’s First Amendment mandating that they operate freely. He has already dubbed them “the enemy of the people,” and just yesterday posted a rant on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, expressing his hatred for the press and his desire to see these American businesses and workers suffer.

SEE THIS: Trump’s 2023 New Year’s Wish: Hopefully American Newspapers Will Go Out of Business

Trump also celebrated the lower ratings that television news have received this year, although he clearly has no idea why that is. And in the same post he lashed out at Fox News, who he said is struggling because “they never say ‘Trump’ or TRUTH, never talk about the Rigged Presidential Election, and is a Fake Polling Network.” Yeah, that’s why.

The wrath that Trump is directing at Fox News now may be because he just heard that his favorite Fox flunky, Sean Hannity, told the House Select Committee investing the January 6th insurrection, with regard to the 2020 election being “rigged and stolen,” that I did not believe it for one second.” That’s gotta hurt.

And with that, Trump delivered his wishes for the nation on this holiday saying

“HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of the Radical Left Democrats, Marxist Lunatics, China loving Coco Chow and her Obedient Husband, Mitch, and Clueless RINOS, who are working so hard to DESTROY our once great Country.”

Such uplifting, heartwarming, and positive thoughts for America’s future from the twice-impeached, former reality TV game show host, and soon-to-be criminal defendant.

Trump’s 2023 New Year’s Wish: Hopefully American Newspapers Will Go Out of Business

As 2022 winds to close, Donald Trump finds himself in an accelerating downward spiral of legal, political, and personal distress. His mood is decidedly dour and consumed by hate. And true to form, he is handling it like a colicky infant who thinks his whining and tantrums will deliver relief from the misery that is plaguing him from all sides.

Donald Trump, Newspapers, Baby, Hate

Trump’s 2022 tribulations are bound to torment him well into 2023. They include disclosure of the financial fiascos revealed in his tax returns that were just released after years of fearful defiance; the criminal charges stemming from his incitement of the January 6th insurrection and his theft and hoarding of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago hotel/home; the ongoing probes by Special Counsel Jack Smith and the Department of Justice; and his plummeting political prospects of returning to the White House in 2024.

RELATED: Trump’s Dreary Campaign Announcement Speech Drew Dismal TV Ratings

On this New Year’s Eve Trump is fixated on the media that he despises for daring to report what he actually does and says. He is an avowed opponent of of the First Amendment. His assaults on the free press were a hallmark of his presidency, and they have continued uninterrupted in the months since his defeat for reelection.

Consequently, no one will be surprised by the yammering on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, where he posted a link to an article in the Washington Post about the hard times that American newspapers are facing. He said that

“Many of these newspapers are going out of business because they only know how to report Fake News. Hopefully the Amazon Washington Post and the Failing New York Times will soon be among the group! Nobody will continue to sustain such losses, especially for a product undeserving of our once great Nation.”

Trump is veritably giddy that American businesses are hurting. So much for “America First.” And it’s ironic that he’s citing the Washington Post, that he thinks is “fake news,” as his source. Apparently when he sees a headline that he likes – in this case Newspapers are disappearing where democracy needs them most – WaPo becomes a reputable news enterprise. However, It’s unlikely that Trump read beyond the headline, because this article laments the failures of small, conservative newspapers that mostly serve rural communities that are largely populated by Republicans.

Trump did once say once that he “loves the poorly educated,” so his aversion to the availability of news would be consistent with achieving that state of ignorance for his cult followers. Trump went on to post more attacks on the media, digging into his kindergarten bag of insults to say that…

“The Failing New York Times is Fake and Corrupt News. Their motto should be, ALL THE FAKE NEWS THAT’S UNFIT TO PRINT. They are the Enemy of the People!”

It’s nauseating how Trump is so eager to trash American businesses and so full of hope for hardship for American workers. But it’s no less than what is expected from him after establishing himself as the nation’s most anti-American politician. It’s notable, though, that Trump also took a swipe at his Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News), whining that…

“Wow!!! So while Trump Hating CNN & MSNBC (MSDNC!) RATINGS are both at record lows, numbers that they have never seen before (‘they’re toast’), Fox News Ratings are also way down because they never say ‘Trump’ or TRUTH, never talk about the Rigged Presidential Election, and is a Fake Polling Network. Our giant MAGA base, much bigger than anyone knows, does not like watching Fox play their games. Their Ratings will continue to sink. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

For the record, Trump has predicted the demise of CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and most other news organizations, for years. And as usual, his predictions have failed to comport with reality. For someone who worked on television for fourteen years, he is profoundly ignorant of how it operates. Ratings are down for virtually everything on TV due to increased competition, such as that from streaming services and the return of patrons to movie theaters.

However, Trump’s animosity toward Fox News is particularly curious considering it’s the home of devout Trump-fluffers like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. But he is known for disparaging anyone who is less than totally worshipful, so even his toadies at Fox News are targets of his wrath. Which is endlessly entertaining for the rest of America.
