Did a Fox News Host Steer Trump to Put Tom Homan in Charge of His ICE Thugs in Minneapolis?

The Calamity in Minneapolis orchestrated by Donald Trump and his Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) StormTrumpers has proven to be massive millstone around the neck of Trump and his regime’s top henchmen and women. On an issue that Trump had leaned on heavily throughout his political misadventures, he is now deeply underwater and struggling to find a way to stay afloat.

Donald Trump, Fox News, White House

Recent surveys show that Trump’s approval on immigration is floundering at record lows. According to the Reuters/Ipsos poll “Fifty-three percent of Americans polled disapprove of the president’s immigration policy, while 39% approve of the job Trump is doing on immigration.” And no amount of gaslighting or whitewashing has helped to reverse the descent.

SEE THIS: RUSH TO JUDGMENT: Fox News and Trump Blame the Victim for 2nd ICE Shooting Death in Minneapolis

Consequently, Trump has been tenderly trying to walk back the rancid rhetoric that he has been yammering from day one of the horrific events in Minnesota, when he and his cronies smeared Alex Pretti as a “would be assassin” and “domestic terrorist.” He knows that the American people are repulsed by the deaths of peaceful, law abiding citizens, and that his attempts to viciously malign them have failed. But rather than admit any wrongdoing, or holding anyone accountable, Trump is trying to massage his messaging campaign to take the heat off of him without making any actual improvements.

Clearly Trump has no idea what to do. That’s why he has been waffling between blanket defenses of the atrocities he has caused, and pitiful stabs at displaying sympathy. The only marginally substantive reform he has taken is to cast his chief ICE enforcer in Minneapolis, Greg Bovino, into the corn field. But even that idea was not Trump’s. As reported by Brian Stelter of CNN…

“Around 6:15 a.m. on Monday, ‘Fox & Friends’ co-host Brian Kilmeade pitched a solution to President Trump’s growing political problem in Minnesota. ‘What I would do is just bring Tom Homan in,’ he said.

“Kilmeade, a Trump booster who knows the president often watches the morning show, volunteered the idea again at 7:15 and once more at 8:10. Homan, the border czar and a former Fox commentator, would ‘settle things down’ and help Trump, Kilmeade said.

“Maybe Trump was watching, maybe he wasn’t — but either way, he said, ‘I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight,’ 20 minutes after Kilmeade suggested it a third time.'”

So it appears that Kilmeade put the bug in Trump’s ear about replacing Bovino with Homan, and he embraced it in the hopes that it might ease the pain of sinking farther into the abyss of public disgust. Never mind that Homan is just as unsavory as Bovino, and he still has a corruption scandal hanging over his head alleging that he took a $50,000 bribe in exchange for delivering government favors.

The public’s view of Trump’s immigration policies has now deteriorated to the point that other Republicans are starting to show some spine by criticizing him. Actually, they are just getting to the point where they are more afraid of voters than they are of Trump. The result is that some – but certainly not all – are speaking out more critically of him than ever before.

Even some conservative media are turning against Trump. For instance, the right-wing National Review editorialized that “[Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem] has repeatedly demonstrated that she is incapable of speaking honestly about events like the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.” Which suggests that Trump’s critics on his own side won’t be satisfied until there are some terminations, indictments, or other form of accountability. And decent American citizens won’t be satisfied until Trump himself is held to account.

RUSH TO JUDGMENT: Fox News and Trump Blame the Victim for 2nd ICE Shooting Death in Minneapolis

“Tin soldiers and Trump is coming…” The only question now is how many more will die because of the callous savagery of Donald Trump and his fascist regime? The death that occurred Saturday morning on a Minneapolis street was entirely predictable and preventable, and was the direct result of a hostile, barbarous cabal of fascist mercenaries.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump, Fox News, Lies

This marks the second fatality of an American citizen at the hands of Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. And it was no accident. The victim had committed no crime when he was mobbed by ICE agents, brutally pummeled, then shot to death, despite not presenting any kind of a credible threat. His murder was pre-sanctioned by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and its de facto chief in the White House, Trump’s Senior Fascist Advisor, Stephen Miller.

SEE THIS: Stephen Miller Tells Trump’s ICE Thugs that They Have Immunity to Do Whatever the F**k They Want

DHS says that the officers attempted to disarm a suspect, but that the suspect violently resisted. Video of the incident shows that the victim was pinned to the ground by four agents when one of them started shooting. So four agents armed with batons, pepper spray, handcuffs, and other policing paraphernalia, were unable to subdue a single man. There were at least five shots fired while the victim was laying on the ground motionless on his stomach.

This is the same DHS that said that Renee Good, a law abiding citizen and mother, was a domestic terrorist who ran over an ICE agent with her car, which the video shows never happened. Consequently, DHS cannot be believed about this. An independent investigation must be performed. Which could be difficult considering reports that ICE tried to keep local police away from the scene. That could be viewed as an attempt to cover up the facts, and perhaps to have an opportunity to plant false evidence.

Nevertheless, Fox News, before any review of the incident had even begun, drew conclusions siding with the ICE agents saying that “They are simply doing their jobs,” and laying part of the blame for this new atrocity on Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The following exchange took place on Fox News shortly after the story broke…

Fox Reporter: If anything is dangerous and unlawful it’s what Tim Walz is doing. And there ought to be consequences. […]
Nicole Parker: They are literally enforcing the law. These are targeted interactions, these are targeted operations. They are simply doing their jobs. And again, without the details of who this subject is, whether they were someone they were arresting, whether they were a bystander, a protester, frankly when you’re looking at the deadly force policies that’s completely irrelevant. For them they are literally looking at what we’ve gone over and over before. My piece of advice to anyone in Minneapolis, and frankly anywhere in the country, let the law enforcement do their job. If you don’t want to run into any problems stay out of the vicinity of law enforcement.

Fox News is defending feds killing another Minnesotan: "They are literally enforcing the law. These are targeted interactions, these are targeted operations. They are simply doing their jobs."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2026-01-24T17:04:01.826Z

So the first comments by Fox News were to place the blame on Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Then their former FBI analyst claims that ICE was just doing their job, even while admitting that she is speaking “without the details.” Maybe she should just shut up until she has them. Then she concludes by advising American citizens to abandon their constitutional rights to dissent, and “let the law enforcement do their job.” Even if they are committing heinous crimes?

Naturally, Trump weighed in on this matter with his customary maliciousness and ignorance. He posted a comment that was exceedingly long and riddled with lies on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, saying in part that…

“This is the gunman’s gun, loaded (with two additional full magazines!), and ready to go – What is that all about? Where are the local Police? Why weren’t they allowed to protect ICE Officers? The Mayor and the Governor called them off?”

First of all, even if it’s true that the victim had a gun, that is legal and is not evidence of any criminal intent. You would think that a 2nd Amendment fanatic like Trump would respect that. There is no evidence that the victim drew any weapon.

Trump quickly segued to questioning the actions of the local police and political officials. And typically, he did so without any proof of the bad behavior that he was blindly and irresponsibly asserting. But he was just getting started. Some other items in his tedious post included…

“Why does Ilhan Omar have $34 Million Dollars in her account?”
Setting aside the fact that that is absolutely untrue. what does it have to do with any of this? Other than to malign a Black woman in Congress who criticizes Trump.

“We are there because of massive Monetary Fraud.”
Now Trump is claiming that the reason he sent troops to Minneapolis was due to monetary fraud. So why did he send immigration cops rather than treasury? And why is this the first time he has ever mentioned it? And where are the arrests of perpetrators of fraud by his ICE thugs?

“The Mayor and the Governor are inciting Insurrection.”
Trump learned a new word: “Insurrection.” So now he using it to describe anyone that criticizes him on any subject. Just like he does with “hoax.” But he can’t provide any proof that Gov. Walz and Mayor Frey incited anything. They have consistently called for calm and peaceful protest.

Trump’s bizarre meandering from one subject to other unrelated subjects is further evidence of his cognitive impairment. He is flailing in the hopes of landing on a topic that his cult followers might lap up. But he is conspicuously failing to exhibit any kind of human emotion as a result of a man dying at the hands of his thugs.

None of this was necessary. None of it would have happened if Trump had not deployed military style troops to terrorize citizens in an otherwise peaceful American city. The victim had broken no laws when he was accosted. Nobody had to die today.

It’s painfully clear that ICE is the instigating factor. And they need to leave Minneapolis immediately, and every other American city, where they are provoking this violence on behalf of aspiring authoritarian Trump. It’s plain as day that he just wants to exploit the chaos that he is creating as an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act, and/or declare martial law, and realize his dystopian dream of dictatorship. But the American people are not going to let him do it.

Stephen Miller Tells Trump’s ICE Thugs that They Have Immunity to Do Whatever the F**k They Want

The authoritarian aspirations of Donald Trump continue to be put on display by him and his devoted cult disciples. And those aspirations encompass the most grotesque components of the tyranny that Trump craves.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump Baby and Stephen Miller

From Trump’s first steps into the political realm he has openly sought to emulate dictators like Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping, all of whom he regards as friends and lavishes with praise. Contrast that with how he treats fellow Americans, Democrats and Republicans, who fail to sufficiently worship him. They are maligned as “scumbags” and “traitors” and “the enemy within.” For example…

SEE THIS: Trump Accuses Democratic Members of Congress With ‘Seditious Behavior, Punishable by Death’

In the days following the gruesome murder of Renee Good by a hostile and unqualified agent of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), the Trump regime has been feverishly trying to justify that atrocity by smearing the reputation of Good, and brazenly lying about what took place. They insist that Good had deliberately run over ICE agent Jonathan Ross, despite numerous videos that show she was actually turning away from Ross, and that her car never touched him.

That flagrantly false smear campaign is still in progress. And on Wednesday it was taken to a new extreme. In a Twitter/X post. The Homeland Security Department dropped a reminder from Trump’s neo-Nazi advisor, Stephen Miller, to all of the ICE thugs patrolling American streets. It said…

“REMINDER. ‘To all ICE officers: You have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. Anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop you or tries to obstruct you is committing a felony. You have immunity to perform your duties, and no one—no city official, no state official, no illegal alien, no leftist agitator or domestic insurrectionist—can prevent you from fulfilling your legal obligations and duties. The Department of Justice has made clear that if officials cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will face justice.’ @StephenM”

Every word of that, of course, is utterly false. There is no such “federal immunity” And anyone, ICE agent or otherwise, is subject to the laws of this nation, and the states in which they operate. Merely saying that they have immunity has no legal standing. If ICE agents violate the laws of any state, or any federal laws, or provisions of the Constitution, they are subject to arrest, indictment, and prosecution. They are also subject to civil lawsuits.

Just for good measure, this question was put to Grok, the Twitter/X AI bot. And it was in complete agreement with the analysis above…

To make matters worse, Trump’s immigration czar, Tom Homan, was asked about whether he was concerned that video of ICE thugs brutally assaulting people would cause “Americans who see this [to] say this looks like Putin’s Russia.” He replied that…

“That’s ridiculous. You know what? In Minneapolis… [Homan then veers off into an extended and unrelated rant about Biden releasing millions of illegal aliens, and some nonsense about sanctuary cities. And then…] It makes it dangerous for the officer. It makes it dangerous for the alien. And It certainly makes it dangerous for the community.”

Q: In Mpls, we're seeing images like a woman who was dragged out of her car by federal agents. There are Americans who see that & say this looks like Putin's Russia–HOMAN: That's ridiculous. If they'd let us in their damn jails & stop being a sanctuary city, we could arrest bad guys in safety

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2026-01-14T17:11:07.085Z

In other words, “Yeah, it does look like Putin’s Russia, but so what?” Homan never answered the question about what the American people should think of innocent folks, including U.S. citizens, being physically assaulted by ICE. But he did justify the brutality of the ICE thugs, even if they were behaving like barbarians of the Putin regime. They seem downright proud of it.

What all of this tells us is that Trump and his comrades are determined to trample on the rights of the American people. And any attempt to criticize or resist will be met with violent punishment by the StormTrumpers. This is Trump’s vision of a fascist Amerika. And he isn’t even bothering to disguise it anymore. Which makes it all the more imperative to resist and to prevent them from carrying out their assault on democracy and freedom. If we stay strong, we cannot lose. 8647!

Trump’s Christo-Fascist Homeland Security Department Declares that America ‘Shares a Savior’

The holiday season in America is one that is celebrated by most Americans as a time of peace, goodwill, and unity. The joyful spirit of the season is shared by people of all faiths. And there is respect for the broad diversity of religious beliefs practiced in a nation that cherishes religious freedom.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump Messiah

Sadly, there is an effort to shatter that tradition of brotherhood by the current occupant of the White House, Donald Trump. His bigotry and pseudo-Christian elitism is a core component of his aspirations for an authoritarian reign. He brandishes his phony sanctimony as a cudgel to force others into submission. And he exploits his faux faith as a tool of invective and intimidation.

SEE THIS: Merry Christmas to Trump From America’s Patriotic ‘Radical Left Scum’ that Drive Him CRAZY (er)

Examples of Trump’s brand of Christian Nationalism are on display by his Cabinet secretaries who serve him as if he were their messiah. In s series of tweets, the Trump toadies have announced not only their own piety to one particular religion, but have declared that religion as the chosen faith for the whole nation. The following was tweeted by the official account of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) led by puppy killer, Kristi Noem…

“Merry Christmas, America. We are blessed to share a nation and a Savior.”

It isn’t unusual for a political person or entity to wish good tidings for believers of any particular religion. However, it is entirely inappropriate – and even un-American – to proclaim that the whole nation shares a savior. The Constitution’s First Amendment prohibits such proclamations. And by violating that prohibition, Trump’s DHS is debasing a long held American principle of religious liberty. And the DHS wasn’t alone…

  • Department of Defense: “Merry Christmas to all. Today we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
  • Department of Labor: “Let Earth Receive Her King.”
  • The White House: “The First Lady and I send our warmest wishes to all Americans as we share in the joy of Christmas Day and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Despite the universality of those comments, they are not beliefs shared by all Americans. In practice, they aren’t even shared by Trump. On Christmas Day Trump, who fancies himself as the “Peace President,” bombed alleged terrorists in Nigeria that he said were killing Christians. He provided no evidence of that, and it has been disputed by officials in Nigeria.

However, Trump’s pal Vladimir Putin is indisputably slaughtering mostly Christians in Ukraine, but Trump doesn’t seem to care about them. Meanwhile, he spent most of Christmas Day posting vile insults and self glorifying comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social (nearly 200 posts). So he obviously wasn’t in church or celebrating the day with family.

The video posted by DHS is an MTV-style music video featuring an English version of a Christmas song that was popular in Japan, “Christmas Eve” originally by Yamashita Tatsuro. It’s safe to assume that the Trumpists didn’t get the rights to use it. Visually it is a compilation of snippets of holiday cultural imagery interspersed with photos of Trump, further implying that he is the “savior” that the nation shares.

The purposefully mixed message that exalts both Jesus and Trump is designed to advance a perverse version of Christianity, while simultaneously belittling all other beliefs. It is the canon of a cult. And it should never have been posted by a government entity.

But with the past behavior of the Trump regime, it isn’t surprising that they would stoop so low. They are determined to promulgate a belief in Trump and impose loyalty to him above all others. Many Trumpists are already praying to His MAGA-sty. His White House spiritual advisor, Paula White, recently said that “To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God.” No, actually, it wouldn’t. But try to explain that to a member of the Trump cult.

Field Marshall Trump Orders His Secretary of ‘War’ to Use ‘Full Force’ Against Martian Terrorists

Okay. You think the headline above is ridiculous? Maybe. But it is no more ridiculous than the actual news that Donald Trump made Saturday morning when he posted a bizarre and troubling comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. And even though he posts bizarre and troubling comments daily, this one sinks to new lows.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Perhaps a more realistic headline would read “Trump Authorizes Troops to Use ‘Full Force’ Against American Citizens that He Thinks are Members of a Fake Terrorist Group Called Antifa.” But while that is more realistic, it is just as ridiculous precisely because it’s real. And it exposes the depths of Trump’s dangerous and severe derangement. Not that we haven’t seen that before.

SEE THIS: WHO’S DERANGED? Trump on Biden Clones, Transgender Mice, Autopens, and His Own Mental Anguish

The comment that Trump posted was a brief, two sentence announcement that he has exercised his duties as Commander-in-Chief to threaten the people of Portland, Oregon, that he says has been “ravaged” by war. He wrote that…

“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Let’s break that down for clarity, shall we? Trump began his decree by assigning the instigation of this order to his puppy-killing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem. Then, at her urging, he ordered his utterly unqualified Secretary of War (a Cabinet position that doesn’t exist), Pete Hegseth, to dispatch “all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland,” which is neither ravaged, nor engaged in war.

Trump continued to explain that the reason for this military mission is to vanquish the completely fictional Antifa, which is just an ideology that opposes his favorite form of government, fascism. He recently designated Antifa as “domestic terrorists,” which he has no legal authority to do.

Trump closes with the most disturbing part of his harangue. He is “authorizing Full Force” against the residents of Portland, who are, of course, Americans. This is the first time that a “president” has ever suggested the use of deadly military force against American citizens simply because he disagrees with them. This invasion of Portland is on-brand for Trump who hates most of America. His Secretary of Propaganda, Karoline Leavitt, recently admitted that he only wants to deploy troops to Democratic-run cities.

Trump might as well be going into battle against KAOS, under the leadership of Maxwell Smart. His enemies are fake. His response is over-the-top. And this is just the military flank of his war against his political foes. He has already unleashed his legal armies against Democrats and their supporters, threatening to prosecute them for daring to oppose his MAGA-sty. And if he isn’t stopped, we are all potentially next in line.

Trump is preparing to sic his pseudo Justice Department on prominent donors to Democrats (Soros and Hoffman, both coincidentally Jewish?) in order to shut down his political opposition. Like any good fascist would do.

Kristi Noem Unleashes More of the Delusional Hyperbole That is the Hallmark of the Cult of Trump

The Primary Directive of every cult is that only Dear Leader will tell you the truth, and that every else is lying to you. It’s a doctrine that has been fully adopted by Donald Trump and his MAGA movement. In their world all judges are “lunatic radicals,” polls are manipulated. government bureaucrats are “deep state” operatives, opposition politicians are purposefully evil, and the media is, as Stalin said, “the enemy of the people.”

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Trump Lies

With the Cult of Trump, dishonesty is just the beginning. There is apparently a dictum that also mandates that their lies must be as far removed from reality as possible. Trump and company likely picked this up from Hitler and his Propaganda Minister, Joseph Goebbels, who pioneered the doctrine of “The Big Lie.” Trump himself coopted the concept in the book that he lies about having written, “The Art of the Deal,” by paraphrasing it as “truthful hyperbole.” Minus the “truthful” part.

SEE THIS: OMG! Pathological Liar Trump Says He is ‘the Most Honest Human Being God Ever Created’

These principles were affirmed on Sunday morning’s episode of “Face the Nation” where Trump’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, was interviewed. In a discussion about Trump’s authoritarian agenda of deploying military troops in American cities – but only the ones led by Democrats – in order to restore his version of fascist order, Noem made the following preposterous comment…

“I do know that L.A. wouldn’t be standing today if President Trump hadn’t taken action. That city would have burned down if left to the devices of the mayor and the governor of that state.”

Kristi Noem: "I do know that LA wouldn't be standing today if President Trump hadn't taken action."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-08-31T14:37:24.224Z

REALLY? The city of Los Angeles spans over 500 square miles. The demonstrations against Trump’s unwarranted and illegal deployments were centered in a few blocks of the downtown area. And the National Gaurd and Marine troops spent most of their time in their quarters or standing around some federal buildings that weren’t targeted by protesters. Reporting at the time noted that…

“LA County District Attorney Nate Hochman on Wednesday said that protests in the Los Angeles area involve less than 1% of the population and are largely peaceful. […] Hochman said that means 99.99% of residents have done nothing illegal in connection with the demonstrations.”

Noem also claimed that the DHS thugs were only going after “the worst of the worst.” That was also untrue according to the data from Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency:

“The majority of people currently detained by ICE have no criminal convictions. Of those who do, relatively few have been convicted of high-level crimes. […] The latest ICE statistics show that as of June 29, there were 57,861 people detained by ICE, 41,495 — 71.7% — of whom had no criminal convictions.”

The mammoth scale of the hyperbole coming from Noem is clearly commanded from the top. Trump’s own commentaries routinely include the same sort of monumental lies. For instance…

Trump on Taxes (aka Tariffs): “Without Tariffs, and all of the TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS we have already taken in, our Country would be completely destroyed, and our military power would be instantly obliterated.”

Trump on Court Rulings: “If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America.”

Trump has an incredibly negative view of America as a pitifully weak nation that could curl up and die at any moment. Either that, or he’s just mad because destroying America is his thing and he doesn’t want someone else horning in.

Of course, Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda – Fox News – is backing him up all the way. While some people might regard Trump’s relentless dispensing of hyper-hyperbole as evidence of a cognitive decline, Fox News is ready with a defense. And when the question of his mental acuity raised, his name doesn’t even have to be mentioned for his defenders at Fox to step up and deny the dementia that others claim to see…

Trump DHS Official on Fox News Likens Wrongly Deported Migrant, Abrego Garcia, to Osama Bin Laden

Last month the Donald Trump Immigration Squad captured and deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian national married to a U.S. citizen, with no criminal record, and deported him to El Salvador on the basis of wholly unfounded charges of criminal and gang activities. They later admitted that the deportation was a mistake caused by what they called an “administrative error.”

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

Abrego Garcia was sent to a notoriously brutal gulag in El Salvador and has been held incommunicado ever since. Efforts to free him have been met with a barrage of lies and insults, while Trump himself ridiculously claims that he has no power to effectuate a return. It’s typical of his dishonest proclamations made to his MAGA media mouthpieces who are only there to serve Dear Leader.

SEE THIS: Trump Escalates His War on the Press – and the Courts – with Predictably Preposterous Results

On Monday night a Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, was interviewed on Fox News by devoted Trump-fluffer Will Cain. In the course of their discussion McLaughlin made a grotesque and grossly inappropriate association between Abrego Garcia and Al Qaeda terrorist, Osama Bin Laden…

“The media would love for you to believe that this is a media darling, that he is just a Maryland father. Osama Bin Laden was also a father, and yet, he was not a good guy. And they actually are both terrorists. He should be in this El Salvador prison, a prison for terrorists, and I hope he will remain there.”

DHS's Tricia McLaughlin: The media would love for you to believe that [Kilmar Abrego Garcia] is a media darling, that he's just a Maryland, father. Well Osama bin Laden was also a father and yet he wasn't a good guy, and they're actually both terrorists.

Nikki McCann Ramírez (@nikkimcr.bsky.social) 2025-04-14T20:31:35.429Z

Seriously? There is no record whatsoever of any criminal acts or violence by Abrego Garcia. And the Trump factions haven’t presented a scintilla of evidence of any of their charges against him. So it is profoundly defamatory to make unqualified accusations of any kind, especially associating them with terrorist leaders who massacred thousands of innocent people.

McLaughlin’s lame attempt to tar Abrego Garcia with the barbarism of Bin Laden is preposterous in the extreme. She could have just as well said that Trump is a terrorist because he is also a father and is responsible for the deaths of more than a million Americans due to his deliberate downplaying of the COVID pandemic. She could even have drawn a connection between Trump and Hitler, because both sent innocent people that they didn’t like to prisons (aka concentration camps), without due process of law.

McLaughlin was not alone in making such chilling and un-American remarks. Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt addressed the Abrego Garcia matter on Tuesday in the White House press briefing room. She responded to a reporter’s question saying that…

“The Democrat and media outrage over the deportation of Abrego Garcia, an ms-13 El Salvadorian illegal alien criminal who has been hiding in Maryland, has been nothing short of despicable. Based on the sensationalism of many of the people in this room, you would think we deported a candidate for father of the year. That’s because, unfortunately, many in this country care more about this ‘Maryland father,’ illegal MS-13 gang member, than an American mother and American citizen who was brutally murdered at the hands of a different illegal alien.”

https://bsky.app/profile/artcandee.bsky.social/post/3lmumojf72k2u

There is an abundance of derp in that statement. Let’s begin with the fact that Abrego Garcia was not “hiding” in Maryland. He had a family and a job and was a productive member of his community.

Leavitt went on to insult the reporters in the room by calling them “despicable” and engaging in “sensationalism,” simply because they pressed the administration to justify its treatment of a man for whom they had not provided any proof of the crimes that they alleged. And finally, Leavitt tried to connect the murdered mother to whom she referred with Abrego Garcia, who had nothing to do with that crime.

If anything is despicable about this, it’s the efforts by the Trump Propaganda Team to turn Abrego Garcia into a monster. They should immediately return him to his home and family. Then, if they have any evidence, they can present it to a court the way it’s done in America. Just making outlandish accusations with nothing to back then up is the sort of thing that is done in the totalitarian states, with autocratic tyrants, that Trump idolizes and seeks to emulate.

To those interested in some apt comparisons, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made one recently. And there is plenty of evidence to back it up. She was responding to the false accusations of Trump’s Propaganda Team that Abrego Garcia has a history of violence and sexual assault. You know who actually does have such a record? Donald Trump – with 34 felony convictions and dozens of allegations of sexual harassment and assault, including civil liability, with an adjudication that he’s a rapist, that resulted in a multimillion dollar judgment against him.

Fox News Mucks Up: Falsely Says DHS Secretary Resigned During Trump Interview

The devotion that Fox News has demonstrated for Donald Trump over the years has apparently not waned in the least in the two months since his ouster from the White House. On Monday morning the former reality TV game show host made his third post-prezidunce appearance on his former propaganda network and Ministry of Disinformation.

Donald Trump, Fox News, Lies

True to form, the interview was a lovefest wherein Fox and Friends co-host Harris Faulkner prefaced every question with gushing praise while feeding Trump a prompt for his canned responses. However, on this particular occasion, no one could have anticipated the magnitude of the foul-up that was about to ensue. It went a little something like this:

Faulkner: This just happened now and I want to double check this with our producers. The DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has resigned, Mr. President.
Trump: I’m not surprised. Good. That’s a big victory for our country.
Faulkner: Hold on. Let me stop. Let me stop. Let me listen to my team one more time. Forgive me … That has not happened. I apologize.
Trump: Okay, cross out that victory.

Faulkner then proceeded to her next question for Trump reiterating that he (and the notorious, ever-present, unnamed “others”) called for Mayorkas to resign and considers him incompetent. Which might be the perfect description of Faulkner’s work as a “journalist.” It is truly mind-boggling how she could have paused her show to get breaking news from her producers, but screwed it up so atrociously. And then, after being forced to make an embarrassing apology (rarely seen on Fox News), her attempt to recover included an insulting characterization of the man she just falsely dismissed.

For the record, prior to being appointed by President Biden to be Secretary of Homeland Security, Mayorkas had decades of public service in the Justice Department, Immigration Services, and as a deputy secretary at DHS. That’s the man that Trump and Fox News regard as “incompetent.”

Throughout this interview, Faulkner gave Trump opportunities to rant in his customary incoherent fashion. He played all his “greatest hits,” including his Big Lie that “We won the election as far as I’m concerned.” Then he leapt into this smorgasbord of babble:

“When China looks at ‘woke’ and see the biggest problem we have is Dr. Seuss. In the meantime they’re building factories and trying to kill us in so many different ways. They laugh at us and they think we’re so – frankly, they think our country is stupid. When they look at this – when our competitors look at what’s going on in our country, taking down the statues to great heroes and so many other things. I do it because I want to do what’s right and they are destroying our country.

First of all, Trump’s complaint that China might disapprovingly look at the U.S. and see its preoccupation with Dr. Seuss is a direct slam on Fox News, who over-hyped that non-story for days (along with Mr. Potato Head gendering, imaginary immigrant caravans, and Grammy porn) because they found Biden too “boring.”

More to the point, Trump’s self-serving observation that our international foes are laughing at our stupidity is wholly attributable to Trump himself. The world knows who “America’s Most Wanked” is, and isn’t Joe Biden, whom they know and respect. If there’s one message regarding Trump that most Americans wish they could convey to the world it’s “Forgive me, that has not happened.”

Trump Threatens to Designate ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization – Again?

In his ongoing attempts to inflame tensions, incite violence, and shift blame for his own failings onto others, Donald Trump took to his Twitter machine to once again divide the nation at a time when it most needs healing. The dystopian nightmare vision of Trump’s MAGA Night at the White House is fueling his latest outbursts of unbridled rage. And he seems oblivious to the fact that there have been more than 102,000 deaths from COVID-19 (coronavirus), 40,000,000 Americans out of work, and an economy that is floundering in depression territory.

Donald Trump, MAGA

With everything else that’s going on, Trump is desperately trying to deflect from his negligence and incompetence by exploiting the nationwide protests against the sort of systemic racism that killed George Floyd. He is purposefully politicizing it by attacking Democratic leaders and making wholly unsupported allegations against liberal activists. His Twitter feed on Sunday morning looked like a screed from a typical white supremacist website.

Trump began by offering Congratulations to our National Guard” for “shutting down” the mythical “Antifa anarchists.” Although it’s hard to shut down something for which there is zero proof of existing in the first place. That was followed by by his taking a bitterly partisan swipe at Democrat run Cities and States”And naturally he went after his arch nemesis, the “Lamestream Media” that he accused of doing everything within their power to foment hatred and anarchy.” Because the giant, multinational, billion dollar corporations that control the media just love anarchy. But perhaps the most bizarre twitticism was this:

There is so much wrong with that that it will require some extended analysis. First of all, there is no Antifa organization. At best it is a loose assembly of unaffiliated activists who are opposed to fascism, as are most patriotic Americans. That alone would rattle Trump whose fascistic tendencies are well documented. Secondly, Trump has no legal authority designate any domestic group as “terrorist.” The law only permits such designations for foreign entities. Thirdly, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security already designated whatever it thinks Antifa is as having engaged in terrorist acts way back in September of 2017:

“Federal authorities have been warning state and local officials since early 2016 that leftist extremists known as ‘antifa’ had become increasingly confrontational and dangerous, so much so that the Department of Homeland Security formally classified their activities as ‘domestic terrorist violence,’ according to interviews and confidential law enforcement documents obtained by POLITICO.”

However, Politico also noted that the rise of so-called “extremist” left-wing protests was actually incited by Trump:

“In interviews, law enforcement authorities made clear that Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric and policies — first as a candidate and then as president — helped to create a situation that has escalated so quickly and extensively that they do not have a handle on it.”

That’s true as well with regard to the current protests going on around the country. Contrary to the heated blather of Trump and his Attorney General Bill Barr, it is right-wing extremists who appear to be responsible for the violence that has marred the protests in recent days. Facts on the ground have shown that…

“…the demonstrations that caused so much damage included provocateurs, likely from outside the area. State officials said around 80 percent of those arrested in the Twin Cities on Friday were from outside Minnesota. Former FBI agent and CNN commentator, Josh Campbell wrote, that Minnesota ‘authorities have been monitoring alleged criminals online, including postings by suspected white supremacists trying to incite violence.'”

That’s consistent with studies on domestic terrorism conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security:

“There is empirical and anecdotal evidence that far-right hate groups pose a significant threat to public safety. Far-right extremists commit many violent attacks, and some scholars conclude that far-right extremists, especially groups motivated by religious ideology, are strong candidates to commit future acts using weapons of mass destruction”

It is also consistent with studies conducted by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL):

“From 2009 through 2018, right-wing extremists accounted for 73 percent of such killings, according to the ADL, compared with 23 percent for Islamists and 3 percent for left-wing extremists. In other words, most terrorist attacks in the United States, and most deaths from terrorist attacks, are caused by white extremists.”

So all the evidence points to right-wing extremists being responsible for domestic terrorism both generally over many years, and specifically with regard to the Floyd protests. Yet Trump and his confederates are spreading baseless lies to smear the protesters, Democrats, and liberals across the board. It’s a despicable act of disinformation and slander. But it is precisely what we would expect from Donald Trump as he swirls ever lower in the downward spiral of his failed presidency.

Holy $@!&: Are Fox News – and Melania – Taking Over National Security for the Trump Admin?

A pair of stories are burning up the wires this Tuesday afternoon. And they have nothing to do with the California fires or the still cresting Democratic “Blue Wave” that washed over the midterm elections. Nope. These stories have to do with the perpetual state of chaos in Donald Trump’s National Security operations.

Donald Trump, Melania Trump

First of all, it is being reported that Trump is expected to fire his secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, after less than a year on the job. But staff shake ups in and of themselves are not uncommon in the Trump administration. He’s already had far greater turnover than any other president.

What’s of interest here is who Trump is considering to replace Nielsen. And the top name being mentioned is the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Thomas Homan. He is a rabidly pro-Trump partisan who defends the administration’s horrific policy of separating migrant children from their parents. But the reason cited for Trump’s interest in Homan is that Trump likes his appearances on Fox News where he fiercely defends and praises the President. And that’s the most important criteria for a leader in protecting the United States from terrorists, isn’t it?

The other story making the rounds is that Trump is about to fire his deputy national security advisor, Mira Ricardel. She’s also a fierce Trump supporter, but lately she has gotten into trouble with the First Lady. And now Melania is asserting herself in these staffing decisions:

“The first lady’s office released a statement calling for Ricardel’s ouster as reports surfaced that President Donald Trump would fire the official, deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel.

“‘It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,’ the first lady’s communications director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement on Tuesday.”

Some reports say that Melania’s problem with Ricardel stems from a seating scuffle on Air Force One. Ricardel, for the time being, reports to national security advisor John Bolton. But she has reportedly also raised the hackles of Trump’s chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly. Making matters even more confusing, Kelly has been an advocate of Nielsen, and her imminent departure might result in Kelly joining her in the White House exodus.

If all of this sounds like the melodrama whipped up by a reality TV show, well guess why. Donald Trump was an incompetent boor from the start and never had the experience to run an enterprise as large and complex as the White House. So he relies on his TV Shadow Cabinet (Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends, etc.) to make decisions for him. That is, when he isn’t hiring people (Bolton, Heather Nauert, Bill Shine, etc.) directly from Fox News. And while this might be entertaining if it were a Hallmark Movie of the Week, it’s downright frightening when it’s real life.
