In the five months since Donald Trump began his second occupation of the White House, almost nothing of any significance has been accomplished through the conventional, lawful paths of government. The Republican led Congress has been virtually AWOL, leaving most of the governing to their Dear Leader’s tyrannical penchant for executive ordering whatever cruel and screwball notion seeps into his mush filled head.

Among the critical issues that face any presidential administration is the production of a budget to keep the wheels of the nation turning. That legislation sets the fiscal parameters for everything from taxes, to defense, to healthcare, to criminal justice, to Social Security, to foreign relations, and so much more. And ironically, those all just happen to be subjects that challenge Trump’s ability to comprehend reality.
SEE THIS: ‘What About Trump?’ CNN Finally Asks About Trump’s Mental Acuity. Meanwhile, on Fox News…
The budget bill that is currently before Congress is facing an uphill battle for passage. Last week it passed in the House of Representatives by a single vote. Now the Republicans in the Senate are divided over whether the bill’s tax cuts for the rich are steep enough, and whether its cuts to popular programs that benefit America’s working class, such as Medicaid and Food Stamps, are cruel enough.
That divide has spilled over into the chummy relationship between Trump and his billionaire benefactor, Elon Musk. Despite Musk’s marauding DOGE campaign to gut many of the agencies that do the most important work on behalf of the American people, he has now come out against Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination,” due to its multi-trillion dollar increase of the national debt.
Hmmm… Musk can't stand it "anymore"???So he was able to stand it for a while when he was still working in Trump's White House? What changed?? His employment?? His drugs?? His greed?? All of the above?

The reality TV style melodrama spinning around this political spat is also being played out at Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. On Wednesday morning Trump’s favorite Fox News show, Fox and Friends, dived into the swamp (video below). Beginning with a lament from co-host Brian Kilmeade…
Kilmeade: I think the Elon Musk thing really caught the president by surprise. And I hear he’s furious. But I think he’s so smart to keep his powder dry. Because it just plays into what critics would have to say. The right can’t get out of their own way. Instead, you have a goal: Pass it. Elon Musk is not in the Senate or the House. Don’t worry about it.
If Kilmeade is right about Trump being caught by surprise and being furious, then Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, lied when she told reporters that Trump already knew Musk’s opinions about the bill before he went public with them. As for Trump “keeping his powder dry,” another phrase that might describe that is “TACO: Trump Always Chickens Out,” He’s afraid to go against Musk. He didn’t have any trouble lambasting Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie when when they criticized the bill. Why not Musk? And that’s when Kilmeade’s colleague, Lawrence Jones, spoke up…
Jones: Can I offer a different perspective? As someone who is supportive of the president’s agenda, I am upset with Congress right now. I don’t blame the president for the “Big Beautiful Bill.” I blame Congress because they go to their constituents every single election. They say they’re gonna cut spending. Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut. And it doesn’t seem like there is a willingness to do that.
First of all, how is Jones’ perspective any different than his co-host’s? More to the point, his reluctance to blame Trump is more evidence that he is a fully indoctrinated Trump cult member. The bill is exactly what Trump lobbied for. Congress wanted to divide it up into separate bills, but Trump demanded that it be combined into one. And it was Trump who told Congress to give the bill the childish name, “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Which they did. What’s more, the bill is full of cuts. But they are mostly cuts to critical programs that the American people need and support, or cuts to taxes on the wealthy. And this is where co-host Ainsley Earhardt chose to join in…
Earhardt: I’m with you on being very respectful on some of the same interviews. Just saying, look, we have differences. I don’t agree with him on everything. But this latest comment about calling the “Big Beautiful Bill” a disgusting abomination, I was shocked to hear him say that. I can understand why the president would not be happy about that. Because this is someone that worked on his team.
Earhardt is now demonstrating the “shock” that so many MAGA disciples have had when Trump and his cronies inevitably part ways. Because none of them have any ingrained morals or principles that would bind them together. It is always transactional concerns that benefit one or the other that eventually crack under the pressure of their selfishly contrary goals.
One thing is clear from all of this. The Fox friends who have so adored Musk for the past few months are squarely on the side of their Mango Messiah. They can’t understand how Musk could have betrayed them. And they remain supportive of the “Big Bogus Bill” despite the low approval ratings of both the bill and Trump. But then, that’s how cults work. How could it be otherwise?
