Trump FREAKS OUT Over Judicial Ruling Against Immunity For His Felony Hush Money Convictions

For the better part of Donald Trump’s public life, the one skill that he has shown any aptitude for is squirming out of legal troubles via delays, distractions, and deceit. It’s a skill that has served him well considering the frequency of his civil and criminal misconduct.

This year, Trump’s luck appeared to run out when one of his criminal cases actually went to trial and he was convicted on all 34 counts brought against him for falsifying financial records. The case centered on his payment of $130,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels to buy her silence regarding a sexual encounter that he was worried would harm his electoral prospects during the 2016 presidential race. In other words, election interference.

However, the story doesn’t end there. Trump’s conviction and sentencing were paused after the Supreme Court issued a preposterous ruling that presidents have immunity for crimes committed as part of their official duties. That ruling led to Trump’s attorneys filing a motion to have the convictions rescinded and the case dismissed.

On Tuesday morning Judge Juan Merchan issued his ruling that “the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity decision does not apply” because “the evidence in Trump’s hush money case related ‘entirely to unofficial conduct’ [and] ‘poses no danger of intrusion on the authority and function of the Executive Branch.'” Furthermore, the criminal acts all took place prior to Trump’s presidency, and any evidence presented at trial that came from White House personnel was immaterial and didn’t impact the “overwhelming evidence of guilt.”

Not surprisingly, this ruling triggered a massive meltdown by Trump. He posted an extended rant on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that did little more than provide further confirmation of his psychological infirmity. He raged in part that…

“In a completely illegal, psychotic order, the deeply conflicted, corrupt, biased, and incompetent Acting Justice Juan Merchan has completely disrespected the United States Supreme Court, and its Historic Decision on Immunity. But even without Immunity, this illegitimate case is nothing but a Rigged Hoax.”

Trump went on to make wild and utterly false assertions that the ruling “goes against our Constitution [and] would be the end of the Presidency as we know it.” He also took a gratuitous swipe at the special prosecutor in his federal cases, who he calls “Deranged Jack Smith,” and reprised his “Witch Hunt” whine.

Trump closed his harangue by implying that Judge Merchan is conflicted by family relations, and issued an impotent demand that “This has to stop!” Missing from this outburst was any rational legal argument to support his claims that the ruling was unlawful or in any way improper. It was just another pathetic excretion of angst-ridden inanity that served no purpose other flushing his mental colon.

If anyone thought that the next four years were going to be any different than the toxic chaos that ensued during Trump’s previous occupation of the White House, this sad episode should put that naïve notion to rest. He is who he is, and he isn’t going to change. Which makes it all the more imperative that the rest of us be prepared to defend democracy and American principles once again. LFG!

The potential for unscrupulous persons and/or foreign agents to seek favor from Trump by exploiting those interests was undeniable, and many took advantage of the opportunity.

Trump never did divest himself in his first term in office. Subsequently, it has been estimated that he made millions off of such nefarious dealings. He took in funds from hostile foreign governments with business pending before U.S. government agencies over which he had jurisdiction. Then he lied about doing so.

An investigation by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) found that Trump earned as much as $160 million dollars from foreign sources – predominantly the Middle East and China – during is first occupation of the White House…

“Throughout his time in office, President Trump, his family and his Republican allies repeatedly assured the public that his refusal to divest from his businesses wouldn’t lead to any conflicts of interest. Americans were promised that Trump would donate his salary, which he did, until maybe he didn’t — all while siphoning millions from taxpayers that more than offset his presidential pay. When it came to foreign conflicts of interest, Trump and his company pledged to pause foreign business. They did not.”

So what can we expect from Trump as he prepares to reoccupy the White House? Oddly, no one seems to be asking that question. Surely he is not planning to divest from any of the businesses that he didn’t divest from last time. But there is now a new entity that Trump didn’t have before, and that presents an even more troubling prospect for shady dealing.

Trump’s Truth Social, via its parent corporation, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. It is therefore available for any crooked scheme-ster to shovel shiploads of cash into, enriching the other shareholders, of which Trump is the biggest. And the funds can go directly into Trump’s bank account when he sells shares. Is this legal? Or ethical? Does he care?

The potential for bribery is not the only value that Truth Social has for Trump. It also serves as his public relations platform where he announces everything from his Cabinet nominees to his hatred for Taylor Swift. There is no precedent for a sitting president to own a media company that is his primary source of communicating with the public. And he already has Fox News, which he doesn’t own financially, but does own ideologically.

What’s more, Truth Social serves as a flea market for Trump’s various merchandise sales. He has hawked all sorts of trashy products, including sneakers, books, gold coins, and NFT collectible cards. And he is still pitching his merch, even after the election. The latest item that he’s peddling is a personalized guitar…

Trump’s scammy social media website is proving to be a valuable PR and marketing venue, even though it’s an epic disaster financially. It can’t attract or retain users or advertisers. It reports losing millions of dollars in every quarterly report. It’s principle executives are embroiled in financial and legal scandals. And it is unable to compete with the other social media platforms that are far bigger.

Nevertheless, Truth Social still has some significant value for Trump. Because it is able to serve as a depository for bribes from nefarious entities. And nobody in the regulatory, legal, or even political fields seem to care. See the following for more…

Truth Social attracted 2,112,000 unique visitors, down 38% compared to June 2023 when the site generated 3,407,000 unique visitors. It was the platform’s second worst traffic performance since June 2022 when Truth Social had only 1,891,000 unique visitors.

No one should be surprised that Donald Trump has, so far, refused to sign the ethics agreement. Which is entirely in character for Trump whose record in business, politics, and even his personal life, is rife with deliberate and nefarious ethical failings. He is a walking monument to corruption, deceit, and immorality. Especially troubling are his legal lapses in ethics that have resulted in dozens of felony charges and convictions.

According to reports, one of the factors holding up Trump’s signature is that the agreement would require him to abstain from any conflicts of interest. That would be a nearly impossible burden for Trump to uphold, considering his broad array of businesses that he has already exploited unethically in his previous occupation of the White House. Now CNN is reporting that…

“President-elect Donald Trump has not yet submitted a series of transition agreements with the Biden administration, in part because of concerns over the mandatory ethics pledge [which is required by law under the Presidential Transition Act] vowing to avoid conflicts of interest once sworn in to office, CNN has learned.

As president, Trump repeatedly came under fire from ethics groups for potential conflicts of interest relating to his businesses and brands.” […]

“Trump’s most recent financial disclosures as a candidate showed that he has continued to make millions off his properties, books and licensing deals. He and his family recently launched a new cryptocurrency business. […] A sizable share of his net worth, meanwhile, is tied to the publicly traded parent company of Truth Social, the conservative social media network. Trump is the dominant shareholder.”

Every president other Trump has complied with the ethic laws for the office by either relinquishing the potentially conflicting enterprises, or putting them in a blind trust. Trump did neither of those. And it appears that he isn’t interested in doing any of that in his upcoming term either.

By refusing to sign the ethics agreement, Trump is virtually promising to violate it. Why else would he hesitate? And those violations could include activities that are far more serious than improperly enriching himself financially. He could reveal sensitive intelligence information to his pals Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping. He could abuse his authority in order to intimidate or control both domestic and foreign politicians. He could funnel funds to himself or to others with whom he has shady deals.

Trump is also preparing to evade any accountability for crimes he may commit while in office. He is stacking his Cabinet with unwavering loyalists who will support whatever crimes he commits. And to insure that he gets his way, he is also plotting to evade constitutional checks and balances in order to install his team of sycophants without Senate oversight or confirmation.

Speculation of Trump appointments of cultists such as Kash Patel to head the CIA, or Mike Davis as Attorney General, would essentially serve as guardians of Trump’s mob operation to shield the boss from accountability. And he needs all the help he can get considering the length of his rap sheet.

UPDATE: Trump finally signed a transition agreement, however, he did so only after altering it so that he “is still refusing to accept several typical trappings of the presidential transition process, including federal funding, equipment and office space — as well as official government background and security checks for his transition staff. The agreement does not include an ethics pledge for the president-elect, required by the Presidential Transition Act.”

Trump’s overt racism has been a hallmark of his public persona for decades. He famously placed an ad in the New York Times calling for the death penalty for five Black men who were found to be innocent. He discriminated against Black applicants at his apartment properties. He began his campaign for president in 2015 by calling immigrants rapists and murderers. He invited notorious White nationalist Nick Fuentes to dine with him at Mar-a-Lago. And more recently…

While Kamala Harris is being interviewed on a variety of television and social media programs, Trump continues to cower behind the sycophantic MAGA media fluffers who he knows will shield him from any challenging questions or humiliating fact checks.

Case in point, on Monday morning Trump did another phone-in chat from his Mar-a-Lago bunker, in his jammies. This time he spoke with right-wing radio hack, Hugh Hewitt. The entire interview was an affirmation of Trump’s ignorance, ego, and deliberate divisiveness. However, he peaked as the discussion turned to immigration, a subject that Trump eagerly assaults with flagrant falsehoods and putrid prejudice.

Trump led into his repugnant remarks with a preface attacking Kamala Harris in terms that have become a tediously routine part of his cult rallies and stump speeches. He raged that…

“She wants to go into government housing. She wants to go into government feeding. She wants to feed people. She wants to feed people governmentally. She wants she wants to go into a Communist Party-type system. When you look at the things that she proposes, they’re so far off. She has no clue.”

OMG! Harris actually wants to feed disadvantaged Americans, including children, who are struggling to overcome the price gouging of the capitalist corporations that Trump favors. What a monster! In Trump’s perverse mind Harris is therefore a {gasp} “Communist.” Why doesn’t she stick to letting her fellow citizens starve, like good MAGA Republicans would do?

Trump went on to repeat a boatload of lies about migrants that he and his crackpot confederates have been telling for several weeks. These are a particular brand of lies intended to malign and dehumanize good people who are desperate to make a better life for themselves. Trump fumed…

“How about allowing people to come to an open border, 13,000 of which were murderers, many of them murdered far more than one person, and they’re now happily living in the United States. You know, now a murderer — I believe this — it’s in their genes. And we got a lot of bad genes in our country right now. You know, now a murderer, I believe this, it’s in their genes. And we’ve got a lot of bad genes in our country right now.”

If Trump is truly concerned about genes, he may want to take a look at his own genetic history. First of all, he is descended from German stock. So is he genetically aligned with Nazis? His father was a KKK member. So does that explain his own racial bigotry? Both the Nazis and the Klan are advocates of violence to achieve their ends. So is that why Trump so often incites violence himself?

The allegation that Trump is making here about immigrants and crime has been thoroughly debunked. His disinformation was drawn from a report that he said reveals shocking statistics. However, as News Corpse reported last month…

As Politico reports, “The majority of these individuals with criminal convictions were already on the non-detained docket and living in the United States before Biden took office.” The “14,000” is actually the total for a period of some 40 years. The number increased by only 5% during Biden’s term. And the increase that occurred during Trump’s term was nearly twice as much.

What’s more, according to Politico’s research, “The numbers also include nonviolent and petty crime — 126,000 are for traffic violations, while 92,000 are for immigration-related crimes (like crossing the border illegally).”

Trump FREAKS OUT Over Jack Smith’s Documentation of His Crimes – But Doesn’t Dispute Any of It

The monumental failures in his business affairs, political pursuits, and personal life have become legendary. However, there is one area where he has been remarkably successful: Delaying legal accountability for his multitude of crimes.

Trump has already been convicted of 34 felonies. But that’s just the tip of his illegality iceberg. He still has 54 felony charges pending. And there are also the civil offenses that he has been found liable for, including financial fraud and sexual assault. There are so many legal quandaries that he has to sidestep that he sometimes loses track of his excuses and deflections…

On Wednesday the federal court in D.C. unsealed a filing by Special Counsel Jack Smith in the case involving Trump’s criminal participation in the January 6th insurrection and associated efforts to undermine democracy. The filing is a 165 page document containing damning evidence of Trump’s treasonous guilt and callous amorality.

The filing features, in part, Trump reportedly saying “So what?” after being told that Mike Pence was in danger at the Capitol; his disregard for election results, telling his daughter Ivanka that “It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election, you still have to fight like hell;” and his staff advocating violence to prevent Joe Biden from being certified as the winner, saying to “Make them riot.”

In response to this bombshell legal brief, Trump took to his failing social media megaphone, Truth Social, to make a wholly impotent case for his innocence. There’s just one problem. He didn’t bother to actually make a case at all…

“Democrats are Weaponizing the Justice Department against me because they know I am WINNING, and they are desperate to prop up their failing Candidate, Kamala Harris. The DOJ pushed out this latest ‘hit job’ today because JD Vance humiliated Tim Walz last night in the Debate. The DOJ has become nothing more than an extension of Joe’s, and now Kamala’s, Campaign. This is egregious PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT, and should not have been released right before the Election. The Democrat Party is turning America into a Third World Country that tries to censor, harass, and intimidate their Political Opponents. What they have done to our Justice System is one of the Great, All Time, Tragedies.”

It is difficult to ignore the fact that there is nothing in that rant – or the other six posts he made on this subject – that actually claims that he’s innocent. He doesn’t even bother to dispute the factual findings in the filing. His entire defense is to just whine about alleged election interference, weaponizing government, polls, the debate, prosecutorial misconduct, and timing. All of which he manages to get completely wrong.

It is not election interference to submit legal documents in a case that has been ongoing for months. It is not weaponizing government because there is no proof of any political influence in the filing. It is preposterous to cite his debate with Kamala Harris as having anything to do with this action by the court. Likewise, it’s absurd to bring up election polls, most of which show him trailing Harris. And Trump’s allegation of prosecutorial misconduct is unsupported by any facts – or reality.

Finally, Trump’s complaint about the timing of the filing ignores the fact that the timing was all his doing. This could have been all wrapped up months ago, but for Trump seeking multiple delays that have resulted in the filing coming at this time.

The delay tactics by Trump are actually another indication of his consciousness of guilt. An innocent person would have wanted his name to be cleared as quickly as possible. But Trump knows that he’s guilty, so he has been determined to put off his inevitable convictions in the hopes of getting reelected and dispensing with the cases and/or pardoning himself.

But Trump failed to think it through. And he underestimated Smith. So now he’s crying about a variety of legally irrelevant issues that can’t possibly help him to avoid his dire future. Of course, all of this rests on Harris prevailing in November. So it’s up to the American people to turn out for the rule of law, for democracy, and for the well being of every citizen on so many other issues. LFG!

To be sure, immigration is an important issue. And there have been some earnest attempts to deal with it responsibly. For instance, there was a bipartisan bill that passed in the Senate that would have addressed the matter in a comprehensive way. Unfortunately, it was Trump who sabotaged the bill by coercing his MAGA confederates in the House of Representatives to kill it because it might help his Democratic challenger. And that wasn’t even the worst of his demented views on immigration…

For the past week Trump has been obsessed with a report that he said reveals shocking statistics about immigration and crime. He has posted numerous comments on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, and referenced the statistics at his recent cult rallies. There’s just one problem: He is grossly misrepresenting the data to advance his racist views on immigrants who he regards as mostly murderers, rapists, and other manner of ne’er-do-well. Let’s examine a sample of Trump’s remarks…

“14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs who have committed MURDER have been allowed to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, and roam free to KILL AGAIN…Kamala is a FOOL to have let this happen to our beautiful USA. It is totally unjustifiable, there can be nothing worse! She should be IMPEACHED for what she as done to our Country!”

We can set aside Trump’s infantile insults of Harris and his impotent demands that she be impeached. Instead, let’s focus on his ludicrous reference to the “14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs” that he says are “roaming free” to kill. That number was drawn from a report issued by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). Trump is flatly asserting that all of these criminal migrants entered the U.S. during the Biden-Harris administration and that they – and specifically Kamala Harris – are responsible for it.

However, Trump, as usual, is lying. As Politico reports, “The majority of these individuals with criminal convictions were already on the non-detained docket and living in the United States before Biden took office.” The “14,000” is actually the total for a period of some 40 years. The bill explicitly provided funding to process, and expedite deportation if necessary, migrants who committed crimes.

It goes without saying that no amount of migrant criminals released into the U.S. population is acceptable. But being realistic, there are criminals in every subset of human groups. Even native-born Americans. And as it turns out, “Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S.-born Americans, studies find.”

The bottom line is that a tiny fraction of a percent of undocumented immigrants have been convicted of any crime. The vast majority are harvesting our food, building our homes, and caring for our elderly. So contrary to Trump’s fear mongering that “If Kamala is reelected, your town, and every town just like it…across our country…will be transformed into a third-world hellhole,” bloodthirsty and/or jaywalking migrants are not taking over our country.

The only criminal that America really needs to be worried about right now is Donald Trump. He’s the native-born miscreant with 34 felony convictions, civil liabilities for sexual assault and financial fraud, and 50+ more felonies pending for crimes ranging from election interference to inciting a deadly insurrection. Trump is by far the greatest risk to the safety and welfare of the American people.

Trump’s Promise Not to Sell His Truth Social Stock May Land Him in Financial and Legal Peril

The candidacy of Donald Trump for president is historic in many respects, none of which are actually respectable. For instance, he is the first candidate to have had three wives, all of whom he cheated on, including with a porn star whose silence he tried to buy for $130,000.00. He is the first to have hosted a sham reality TV game show, but had no experience in government or military service. He is the first to have been adjudicated as a rapist.

In addition to his continually lengthening rap sheet, Trump is also the first candidate of a major political party (if we can still call the Republican Party that) to be running after having been convicted of 34 felonies, with another 52 charges pending. With that sort of record, the last thing that Trump needs is to engage in more criminal activities that burnish his credentials as an aspiring mob boss.

Nevertheless, this week Trump may have set himself up for some more indictments related to his notoriously unscrupulous business operations. At a press avail staged at his Palos Verdes, California, golf resort, Trump was asked a question about the abysmal performance of his Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) stock that has lost more than three quarters of its value since its March debut on the NASDAQ stock exchange…

Reporter: Trump Media shares (DJT) are down about 75% since their peak in March. Your lockdown provision ends soon. Will you sell your shares?
Trump: No, I’m not selling. I love it.

Driving the point home, Trump later repeated that “I’m not gonna sell my shares. I don’t need money” Which makes it all the more curious that he is constantly begging his cult followers for more donations and trying to sell them garbage like Trump-branded sneakers and bibles. But more to the point, Trump has now made a declarative statement that he is not going to sell his shares of TMTG when the lock-up period expires in the next week or so.

The problem with that is that, now, if Trump does sell, he could be in violation of Federal securities fraud laws governing stock manipulation and subject to up to 20 years in prison. It is illegal for company principals and major shareholders to mislead investors as to their future positions in a stock.

The reason for these laws was evident in the movement of the stock following Trump’s statement. The stock jumped $4.00 (a 27% increase) after he made this comment. Then it fell back a couple of bucks before the NASDAQ briefly suspended trading. But the effect was obvious to everyone but Trump, who posted a furious complaint on his failing Truth Social website…

“Why is NASDAQ halting the sale of DJT? What right do they have to do this? They have done it twice today. What’s going on? Are they taking orders from the SEC, which, for political reasons, delayed us for an inordinate amount of time, therefore hurting the stock very badly? I am going to hold NASDAQ, and maybe the SEC, liable for doing what they are doing. If they do it again, we will move the stock to the New York Stock Exchange. It is my intention to own this stock for a long period of time. In my opinion, it is THE REAL VOICE OF AMERICA, but it is definitely MY VOICE, and it will be for a long time to come!”

Naturally, Trump was outraged for what he can only perceive as a personal attack on his eminence that involved some imaginary, widespread, “Deep State” conspiracy against him. The temporary delay in trading was a routine response to unusual volatility in the stock. It was not for “an inordinate amount of time.” It was for five minutes, twice, to protect investors from potential fraud. But no one will be surprised that Trump resorted to issuing a threat in response to the prudent measures taken as a result of his irresponsible – and likely dishonest – comments.

In the next week or so we will see whether Trump keeps his word not to sell any of his shares. If he does sell, it will not only tank the stock, causing major losses for the remaining shareholders, it will make Trump liable for potential charges of stock manipulation, as well as lawsuits from other shareholders. And all of this is unfolding in the final weeks of the presidential campaign when he is already suffering major political losses.

The troubles that are drowning Trump’s website and stock are nothing new. What follows are a few of the financial and legal blows that his failing enterprise has endured…

LOSER Trump’s Truth Social is Well on its Way to Becoming His Next Bankruptcy
Trump Media reported net sales of $836,000, down 30% vs. a year earlier. It was the third straight quarter of roughly $800,000 in revenue, up slightly from Q1’s $770,500. Operating costs soared to $19.5 million vs. $4.9 million a year earlier.

Trump’s Truth Social is Shedding Users Like a Miserable Childless Woman’s Mangy Cat
The Donald Trump-controlled Truth Social platform recorded its third straight month of declining traffic. Truth Social attracted 2,112,000 unique visitors, down 38% compared to June 2023 when the site generated 3,407,000 unique visitors. It was the platform’s second worst traffic performance since June 2022 when Truth Social had only 1,891,000 unique visitors.

WHOA! Did Trump Just Admit that He’s Guilty and is Whining that He Couldn’t Make a Plea Deal?

Donald Trump has already secured his place in history as the first, and so far only, president to ever have been indicted for, and convicted of, felony crimes. He is scheduled to be sentenced for his 34 financial fraud convictions in November. Then he still has 52 more felony indictments that are pending.

In addition to those criminal counts, Trump was also found civilly liable for defamation and sexual assault. And he has been prohibited from operating a charity in New York after his was found to have committed fraud. And his phony university was shut down and ordered to pay millions in restitution to his victims. Trump is a one-man crime spree. And yet he has been arguing that he should have “total immunity” to commit any crimes he wants.

On Friday morning Crybaby Trump addressed reporters at his Palos Verdes, California, golf resort to act out some more of his paranoia and victimhood (video below). Most of his remarks were standard rehashes of his cult rally speeches. However, there was one bit that was surprisingly newsworthy, despite the media’s abject, albeit predictable, failure to notice. Trump was engaged in another tedious tantrum about the justice system when he griped that…

“The only one they don’t make a plea deal with is Trump. They go after their political opponents. Especially when they haven’t done anything wrong. So more charges were dropped yesterday in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s all politically inspired. It’s all against their political opponent.”

REALLY? Trump is upset that prosecutors didn’t cut a plea deal with him? While those negotiations are generally confidential, it’s a safe bet that prosecutors did offer Trump some sort of deal, and that he refused because he is psychologically incapable of accepting any responsibility.

More to the point, plea deals are entered into when a defendant agrees to admit guilt to some part of the pending indictments. So Trump’s disappointment at not getting a plea deal suggests that he might have made such an agreement on certain terms and accepted some measure of guilt.

That prospect is a far cry from Trump’s incessant babbling about “witch hunts” and “weaponization of justice,” and accusations of corrupt and/or racist prosecutors, judges, and jurors, who all have political motivations that he has never been able prove. But he wasn’t through. Trump went on to say that…

“We won the case, the big case, The one they said, the big case, the big case. completely won that case. The documents case in Florida. The case was thrown out. The deranged Jack Smith, deranged prosecutor.”

No one will be surprised to learn that Trump is lying again. The case to which he is referring is the one where is charged with stealing classified documents, hoarding them at Mar-a-Lago, and lying to the FBI about having them. He did not win that case. In fact, it has not been tried. The Trump flunky judge presiding over it dismissed it on a technicality that is so preposterous that it will likely be overturned and result in her being removed from the case.

So in that brief statement by Trump, he not only misrepresented his legal tribulations, but also implied his own guilt and potential willingness to plead to it. Which further validates what has always been the most dangerous threat that Trump faces: His own big mouth. So keep talking, Donnie.

LOCK THEM UP! Trump Demands that People Who Desecrate the Flag Go to Jail – Like His Followers?

This year’s most profligate proponent of law and order – former reality TV game show host and convicted felon, Donald Trump – is staking out a principled claim on justice that should make his glassy-eyed cult disciples twitch with nervous tension. Not that they aren’t already an angst ridden flock of freaks with acute anxiety disorders.

Donald Trump Hugs Flag

Trump has resumed his role as a call-in co-host on Fox News where his slobbering sycophantic pals on Fox and Friends provide him with free airtime to unload his mendacious musings. It’s an open forum for rage-casting and unhinged bashing of Democrats, especially the presumptive nominee for president, Kamala Harris.

On Thursday’s program, Trump held the “Curvy Couch” potatoes enrapt in his uniquely incoherent rambling. He predictably whined about his legal tribulations that he now blames entirely on Harris, who he slanders as “a radical, left, not very smart person.” Which is such a “smart” way of articulating that alleged thought. He also told his cult not to bother voting for him because he already has all the votes he needs. Another “smart” move on Trump’s part.

However, perhaps Trump’s most bizarre bit of blather was his lecture on the legal consequences of flag desecration. Trump offered his opinion in response to Americans protesting Netanyahu and the war in Gaza, some of whom burned flags. He said that such behavior should be severely punished, and anyone who disagreed with him is “stupid.”

“I think you should get a one year jail sentence if you do anything to desecrate the American flag. Now, people will say, ‘Oh, it’s unconstitutional.’ Those are stupid people. Those are stupid people that say that.” [and that] “Putin and President Xi of China, all over the world they’re watching this. Kim Jong Un […] That wouldn’t happen in their countries. It’s impossible for that to happen in their country.”

First of all, the Supreme Court has ruled that flag burning is, in fact, protected speech under the Constitution. Not that Trump cares about the Constitution. Secondly, Trump’s use of brutal dictators as examples of appropriate responses to such speech is typical of his own totalitarian aspirations. He hopes to impose the same sort of oppression here in America.

But what makes his remarks so astonishingly preposterous is that his own cult followers are the worst offenders of flag desecration. The United States Flag Code states in part that…

  • “The flag should never be used as wearing apparel.”
  • “The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.”
  • “The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever.”

Anyone who has seen the videos of Trump’s traveling salvation shows knows that his cult shows up regaled in flag attire. They wave flags defaced with his scowling mug and other representations of his MAGA movement. And Trump himself markets products (shoes, NFTs, bibles, etc.) with Old Glory plastered on them. Should everyone – including Trump – be incarcerated for a year for these offenses?

And that’s not all. What about the violent insurrectionists, that Trump calls “hostages,” who used flags on poles to attack police officers on January 6, 2021? Should they get an additional year added on to their sentences for rioting and assault?

Don’t expect Trump or any of his surrogates to answer these questions. They really couldn’t care less. Trump’s only purpose in proposing this is to attract attention and to tickle the fury of his feeble-minded fans. And if there were any justice, Trump would already be in prison for crimes much worse than the flag desecration he’s exploiting now.

Felonious Trump Says Uniting the Nation Means Giving Him the Freedom to Commit Crimes at Will

On the same day that the MAGA Republican National Convention began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a shamelessly biased judge in Florida dismissed the case against Donald Trump wherein he was charged with stealing classified documents, hoarding them at his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel, and lying to the FBI about having them. It is a ruling that is steeped in the sort of sophistry that defines cult worship.

Judge Aileen Cannon has been serving as Trump’s de facto lead defense counsel from the start of the trial. And now she has, in effect, unilaterally acquitted Dear Leader as his coronation to become the Republican nominee for president becomes official, and just 48 hours after he received the stigmata by having had his ear nicked by a crackpot’s bullet. Which, of course was all President Biden’s doing…

America has never before suffered the indignity of a former, or gawd forbid future, president being charged with 88 felonies. And the genuflecting GOP isn’t the least bit ashamed of embracing a candidate who is a convicted felon, financial fraudster, and adjudicated rapist.

In this polluted political environment that Trump is accepting his clan’s consecration with the humility of a preening prima donna. On his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted a comment intended to display a sympathetic side of him that is unexpected – that is rarely seen – that doesn’t exist. It was his attempt, in the wake of a shooting by a fellow Republican, to suppress his decades long reputation as a hate-mongering divider, and to portray himself anew as a saintly uniter. He wrote in his typically long-winded style that…

“As we move forward in Uniting our Nation after the horrific events on Saturday, this dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step, followed quickly by the dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts — The January 6th Hoax in Washington, D.C., the Manhattan D.A.’s Zombie Case, the New York A.G. Scam, Fake Claims about a woman I never met (a decades old photo in a line with her then husband does not count), and the Georgia ‘Perfect’ Phone Call charges. The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks, which are an Election Interference conspiracy against Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME. Let us come together to END all Weaponization of our Justice System, and Make America Great Again!”

Did you catch Trump’s call for harmony in that commentary? If not, it may be because it was wrapped in his obsession with himself. To Trump to “move forward in Uniting our Nation” has nothing to do with compassion for others, or moderating his insults and rage, or refraining from lies about his perceived enemies. Unity is solely a function of granting him immunity from any and all crimes he has committed or will commit in the future.

Even in this supposed petition for peace, Trump characterizes the well documented charges against him dishonestly as “Witch Hunts,” with dismissive and infantile nicknames for them all (“January 6th Hoax,” “Manhattan D.A.’s Zombie Case,” “New York A.G. Scam,” “Fake Claims about a woman I never met,” “Georgia ‘Perfect’ Phone Call”).

Trump then goes on to lie, saying that “The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks.” Actually, only one of the cases he listed was filed by a Justice Department prosecutor. The rest were all state cases that were not coordinated with the feds in any way. What he is really looking for is the absolution that he believes was granted by the Supreme Court’s ludicrous ruling that presidents are entitled to immunity for crimes that they actually commit.

Yet still Trump pretends to seek unity by asking “Let us come together to END all Weaponization.” Does that include the GOP Speaker, MAGA Mike Johnson, shutting down the phony inquisitions by Reps. James Comer and Jim Jordan? You know, the ones who have been humiliating themselves in hearings that not only failed to turn up any evidence against Biden or his family, but their own witnesses actually cleared them of any wrongdoing.

Naturally, Trump’s plea to unite by ending all “weaponization” means only that which is directed at him. He still insists that the rabidly partisan Republicans in Congress continue to persecute Biden, his family, and his administration. They just tried, and failed, to have Attorney General Merrick Garland arrested for contempt of Congress because he refused to acquiesce to their…let’s say witch hunt to smear Biden.

That’s the true nature of Trump’s idea of unity. It doesn’t include finding common ground with Democrats. It has nothing to do with lowering the temperature after the shooting in Pennsylvania. It isn’t even about what benefits the Republican Party. As is evident in his Truth Social post, it is wholly built around whatever is in Trump’s personal best interest. Nothing else matters to him. Nothing. That’s it. Will voters – even Republicans – fall for it? We’ll see.
