Tucker Carlson Unleashes Insane Rant Advocating Tobacco Because ‘Nicotine Frees Your Mind’

The 2022 election cycle featured Republicans across the country furiously condemning Democrats as a ghoulish death cult that was deliberately seeking to harm Americans by affirmatively promoting violent crime, homicidal migrants, and the use and abuse of illicit narcotics.

Naturally, Fox News reported this nightmare perversion of reality with sensationalized coverage of mostly made up stories fear mongering about nonsense such as Halloween candies laced with fentanyl. Undeterred by the fact that none of their macabre alarmism came to pass, Fox News continues to drown their intellectually enfeebled audience in profoundly dishonest and dangerous disinformation. Particularly about COVID which, due to the flagrant lies and conspiracy theories aired by Fox News, has been found to have killed more Republicans than Democrats.

RELATED: The Pandemic of the Unvaccinated? No! It’s the Pandemic of the Fox News Infected

Leading this putrid pack of propagandists is Tucker Carlson. And on Friday’s episode of his hour of contrived outrage, Carlson pontificated on his aberrant affinity for tobacco. He began by chastising Democrats for having the audacity to oppose the single most preventable cause of cancer, asserting falsely that…

“No wonder they hate tobacco. And it’s not because it causes cancer. They don’t care about your health. They closed the gyms during COVID. Anyone who would close a gym during a pandemic that kills fat people clearly doesn’t care about your health at all.”

Carlson’s “logic” is typically preposterous. He thinks that it would be beneficial for “fat” people to continue patronizing gyms – where there is profuse heaving breathing and sweating on the equipment – during the pandemic spread of a respiratory virus. And this isn’t the first time that he has associated Tobacco with obesity. Sure, overweight people are vulnerable to more severe consequences from COVID, and they should take measures to lose weight for general health reasons anyway. But that’s something they could do at home, or by taking long walks.

RELATED: Tucker Carlson Boldly Defends Tobacco (and Cancer?) as the ‘Most American of All Pleasures’

Carlson, however, would have people patronize the sort of facility that could expose them to the very virus that Carlson is admitting could be deadly for them. He is advising them to go to a densely populated public place where they can exercise to lose weight over a period of months, so long as they don’t get COVID and die in a week or two. That makes sense, right? But Carlson was just getting started. He went on to complain that…

“They hate nicotine. They love THC. They’re promoting weed to your children, but they’re not letting you use tobacco, or even non-tobacco nicotine delivery devices which don’t cause cancer. Why do they hate nicotine? Because nicotine frees your mind and THC makes you compliant and passive. They hate it. It’s a real threat to them.”

Really? First of all, Carlson cannot cite a single example of Democrats “promoting weed to your children.” Secondly, adults can use tobacco all they want, as long as they are not subjecting others to their toxic habit. Third, vaping has many serious health hazards of its own. Fourth, “nicotine frees your mind”??? What sort of cancer death cult has Tucker joined?

Carlson is clearly the one who doesn’t care about your health. He has spent the past couple years pushing COVID disinformation that contributed to the deaths of his own viewers. He has warned them that vaccines don’t work and “they” aren’t telling you.

Carlson recently praised GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for reversing the Capitol smoking ban. Undoubtedly he believes that this new found freedom to suck up poisonous tar and nicotine, and expose others to the same health risks, is a boon to the testosterone deprived members whose masculinity has been on the decline due to the lack of properly tanned testicles. ‘One of the biggest stories in our lifetimes,’ Carlson has said, ‘is the total collapse of testosterone levels in American men.'”

On the same program, Carlson offered his pseudo-libertarian, anarchist view that all laws protecting people from harm are unconstitutional and should be abolished…

“The bottom line is they have no authority. They have no constitutional authority over your personal life. If it’s not in the public sphere, they have no right to ban it. You can smoke any kind of menthol cigarettes you want. You can cook in any stove you want. Only you decide what goes into your body, period. That’s the promise of America. And if we don’t stand up for that and say, ‘No, no. Come and get it.'”

So there you have it. Carlson is now advocating that everyone should be free to use tobacco, as well as fentanyl, meth, and heroin. The government should stay out of consumer product safety and allow lead paint, asbestos, and unsafe child car seats to go back on the market. Because that – getting killed by poisons and defective products – is “the promise of America.” And all this time you thought it was freedom and democracy. But is anyone surprised by Carlson’s latest harangue? He’s the same guy who recently embraced the concept of dissemating misinformation…

Tucker Carlson Boldly Defends Tobacco (and Cancer?) as the ‘Most American of All Pleasures’

The insanity of the Donald Trump Republican Party and its official Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News) has descended to a new and reprehensible low. The GOP’s new majority in the House of Representatives, under House Squeaker Kevin McCarthy, wasted no time establishing itself as a rabidly rightist confederacy of crackpots.

Among the inaugural acts of the fledgling Trumpist legislature was a bill to suppress reproductive rights and another to defund IRS efforts to audit corporations and the wealthy. Then they formed the “Anti-Woke” caucus (whatever that means) to pursue an agenda that is contrary to the interests of most Americans.

After spending last year campaigning on the horrors of immigrants, abortion, China, fentanyl, inflation, and Hunter Biden’s stolen laptop, Republicans have settled into a schedule of the programs that really matter to them. And on Fox News GOP Rep. Troy Nehls joined Tucker Carlson to celebrate another “victory” achieved by the new majority: the reversal of the ban on smoking in the Capitol building.

Tucker Carlson was clearly ecstatic that McCarthy reversed the smoking ban. Undoubtedly he believes that this new found freedom to suck up poisonous tar and nicotine, and impose others to the same health risks, is a boon to the testosterone deprived members whose masculinity has been on the decline due to lack of exposure to cancer causing toxins and tanned testicles. “One of the biggest stories in our lifetimes,” Carlson has said, “is the total collapse of testosterone levels in American men.”

RELATED: Macho Poser Tucker Carlson’s Journey from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to ‘The End of Men’

Carlson whined that he couldn’t understand why tobacco was ever banned in Congress in the first place when “you’re allowed to smoke meth in a park [and] Kids are encouraged to smoke weed.” And if he really believes that, he has been smoking something much more potent than tobacco. He then introduced Nehls saying…

“So you have to kinda wonder, why is tobacco so dangerous? Well, we thought we would ask a member of Congress who uses it, who smokes an occasional cigar. Troy Nehls joins us. Grateful that you’re here, willing to stand up for the most American of all pleasures, which is tobacco. Sorry to say it. It’s true. It founded the country.”

So with all of the science, over decades of research, Carlson still doesn’t know what’s dangerous about tobacco? And despite its documented deadly consequences, Carlson is crediting tobacco, not merely with being a cash crop for early American farmers, but as on par with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, etc., as having “founded the country.”

For the record, Washington, Jefferson, and others did grow tobacco for a time, but later switched to wheat and other grains that proved to be more sustainable. And the profitability of tobacco was more a result of having slave labor than the value of the crops themselves.

Carlson then asked Nehls “What is it that triggers” opponents of smoking? Nehls replied that he didn’t know, but added, “Look at a nice Ashton cigar. It’s a beautiful cigar. It’s mild.” What he failed to mention was that Ashton cigars are made in the Dominican Republic and cost about $10.00 a piece.

So this “most American of all pleasures,” that has apparently usurped that honor from baseball and apple pie, is imported from a LatinX populated Caribbean island and only affordable to privileged folks like Carlson and Nehls. What’s more, only about 12.5% of Americans smoke cigarettes, and only 3.5% smoke cigars.

Now we know that Tucker Carlson is an avid proponent of tobacco, and is also a virulent opponent of those new, less sexy M&Ms. Which is further affirmation for why his own Fox News lawyers argued in court – successfully – that he couldn’t be liable for defamation because no rational person would believe anything he says.

Tucker Carlson Boldly Endorses Nicotine Addiction, Because Without It You’re Fat and Passive

For most his tenure at Fox News, Tucker Carlson has proven himself to be an immanent threat to the health and well being of the American people. His seething white nationalism, his support for domestic terrorists, and his relentless promulgation of lies and propaganda have set him apart from even his conspiracy theory confederates at Fox News.

Carlson’s flagrant distortions of reality are frequently dangerous in direct ways. He has been a staunch opponent of COVID vaccines, likely resulting in severe illness and death for many of his dimwitted viewers who were foolish enough to follow his ignorant advice. And he has embraced Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s brand of totalitarianism.

RELATED: Fox News Senior Putin Apologist, Tucker Carlson, Pleads to Keep the Russian Dictator in Power

On Wednesday night Carlson found a brand new way to make Americans sicker. He literally came out in favor of smoking cigarettes and/or vaping, a popular and lethal pastime for teenagers. Carlson’s rant was triggered by the news that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is cracking down on nicotine delivery products like those marketed (to children) by Juul. Carlson, of course, has a knee-jerk opposition to anything done by the Biden administration, no matter how unarguably beneficial. So Carlson unleashed the following idiotic harangue…

“Yesterday the FDA announced it’s planning to remove virtually all nicotine from cigarettes. Now nicotine is not the thing that gives you cancer. Nicotine is the thing – it’s addictive, but it also increases mental acuity. But they’ve taken that out. According to the Wall Street Journal, the agency will also ban Juul e-cigarettes. Now what happens when you get off nicotine? Well, your testosterone levels plummet, and you gain weight. Both of which the administration is for because you become more passive and easier to control.”

Where to start? How about with the fact that nicotine is not merely addictive, its addictive properties are artificially enhanced in cigarettes by tobacco companies to make their victims (aka customers) more physically dependent on them. Secondly, to the extent that nicotine affects mental acuity, it acts as a stimulant that has essentially the same temporary affect as cocaine or methamphetamines. Is Carlson in favor of those as well?

Carlson then asserts that when nicotine is stopped it results in a decline in testosterone. That’s false. In fact, some studies show that nicotine can actually depress testosterone levels and are “another main cause of erectile dysfunction.” Furthermore, smokers, compared to nonsmokers, had greater amounts of age-related brain volume loss.” Which would explain Sean Hannity…

Carlson also makes the preposterous allegation that the Biden administration wants people to be obese and to have lower levels of testosterone, because that would make them “more passive and easier to control.” WHAT?

Who wants to tell Carlson that nine of the top ten most obese states in the U.S. are in the blood red South? Does that mean that Republicans have manipulated America’s fattest populations in order to control them? Not surprisingly, the most populous – and bluest – states in the country (New York, California, Massachusetts) are among the ten least obese.

Carlson has been on a testosterone binge lately. He recently aired a segment on how distraught he is that the cartoon M&Ms were no longer “sexy” to him. He also produced a crocumentary that he called “The End of Men.,” which he described saying that “One of the biggest stories in our lifetimes is the total collapse of testosterone levels in American men,” and that it was “changing the way people are at the most fundamental level.”

RELATED: Macho Poser Tucker Carlson’s Journey from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to ‘The End of Men’

True to form, almost everything in his film was blatantly false. Carlson’s fixation on testosterone is just the latest example of his hatred for women and his innate fear of inadequacy. And he is deftly injecting it into his sweaty obsession with lambasting all things Biden. The result being an advocacy of a deadly and addictive narcotic that is causing untold suffering among American adults and children. And this is something that Fox News, and its executive management, thinks is acceptable television?

Fox News Runs Smoke Screen For The Tea-bacco Party

A recent study was conducted by the University of California at San Francisco that uncovered a connection between the astroturf Tea Party movement and wealthy lobbyists for Big Tobacco. The study documented how tobacco interests formed an organization called Citizens for a Sound Economy in 2002 and later split it into the Tea Party organizers FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity.

Tea-baccoUnable to dispute the facts exposed by the study, Fox News published an article attacking the funding which came from the National Cancer Institute, a subsidiary of the National Institutes of Health. The Fox headline blared “Taxpayer dollars used to fund study attempting to link Tea Party to tobacco lobby.”

The entire premise of the article was a transparent defense of the Tea Party, which Fox also helped to create. In fact, without their relentless promotion and free airtime there would have been no Tea Party at all. But having no case to make against the findings of the study, Fox went after a peripheral issue in an attempt to change the subject to the funding source. What they failed to realize is that university studies frequently receive grants from government agencies, particularly those that research public health.

The UCSF study was in no way designed to attack the Tea Party. It was looking into the manner in which the tobacco industry advanced their mission to market their deadly products. It just so happened that the Tea Party connection was unveiled during the course of the study. That connection should not surprise anyone considering that the Tea Party’s first major protest activity was centered on blocking public health care, something the tobacco lobby has opposed for decades because it educated consumers about the dangers of smoking.

The faux outrage now being expressed by Fox does nothing to counter the findings in the study. What it does is chastise institutions who engage in research that benefits the public. By attacking the funding sources Fox is advocating a form of academic censorship and trampling on the free expression of the researchers. It’s rather ironic in that the Tea Party rightists often rail about the interference of big government, but in this incident they are eager to allow the government to dictate to independent institutions what they are, and are not, permitted to study.

If Fox were a legitimate news enterprise they might have chosen to run a story about the merits and/or flaws of the study rather than try to discredit it with snide insinuations that raise phony suspicions about the funding. But since they are Fox they typically chose to trash whatever it is that they regard as contrary to their conservative prejudices, even if their argument makes no sense and contradicts their own principles.
