Who Should Fill Andrea Mitchell’s Now Vacant Slot on MSNBC? Jim Acosta? Mehdi Hasan? Or…

MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell hosted the last episode of her program on Friday. Her departure was announced last October in a statement that indicated her interest in doing “more of what I love the most: more connecting, listening and reporting in the field.”

Mitchell will retain her role as chief Washington correspondent and chief foreign affairs correspondent. However, no one has yet been named to fill her 12:00pm ET time slot. That leaves some interesting possibilities for the network to counter Trump’s war against the free press that he refers to as “the enemy of people.”

Among the prospective candidates to succeed Mitchell is former CNN anchor, Jim Acosta. He recently chose to ditch CNN when they tried to banish him to an overnight wasteland, despite his having higher ratings than most of his CNN colleagues. It’s clear that the network’s brass were determined to kiss up to Trump by silencing one of his most honest and effective critics. Acosta signed off by warning that…

“It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant…Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope.”

Other potential replacements might include current weekend MSNBC hosts, Katie Phang, Ali Velshi, Alicia Menendez, Jonathan Capehart, and Ayman Mohyeldin. Another intriguing possibility would be to bring back former host Mehdi Hasan, an insightful journalist who was popular with MSNBC viewers before he was let go. Although he may not be available now as he has started his own successful media enterprise, Zeteo.

Replacing Mitchell with Acosta or Hasan would serve the dual purpose of pissing off Trump. Of course, he will attack whoever gets the spot with his hallmark hatred of anyone who dares to criticize him. And he has a special place in the decaying organ where his heart should be for MSNBC. Some of his recent outbursts include…

“You take a look at MSDNC, how evil they are. They’re evil. They’re sick. They shouldn’t even be allowed to do what they do. Because it’s so corrupt. They shouldn’t be allowed to do it.”

“MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump…Our so-called ‘government’ should come down hard on them and make them pay for their illegal political activity.”

“MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason.’”

One option that MSNBC must resist is giving another hour of air time Morning Joe host, Joe Scarborough, who is already controlling four hours every weekday morning. The last thing the network needs is to lean closer to the Trump-fluffers at Fox News.

Speaking of which, Fox just announced its own new host, Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump. Which is their way of affirming that the network has abandoned any pretense of being anything other than Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda.

Trump is Busy Doing the People’s Work: Pushing for Plastic Straws and Firing Journalists?

The citizens of this nation should be comforted knowing that they have a leader who is spending his time on critical initiatives like policing who uses which bathrooms, flooding California farmlands, and pitching cheesy merchandise and self-exalting books…

On Friday morning Trump added to his list of priorities a couple of long-festering problems that have been in dire need of solutions. He posted his intentions on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to let everyone know just how focused he is on America’s most urgent issues.

Trump’s first message made plain his determination to resolve a matter that surely takes precedence over immigration, school shootings, drug trafficking, homelessness, wars in Ukraine and Gaza, climate change, and the high price of eggs and gas. Trump wrote that…

“I will be signing an Executive Order next week ending the ridiculous Biden push for Paper Straws, which don’t work. BACK TO PLASTIC!”

Thank God! We absatively have to drop everything else and ban those horrible paper straws and return to the plastic variety that are known for “releasing chemicals into the soil, air, and water that are harmful to animals, plants, people, and the environment.” Why hasn’t anyone sought to do this before?

Trump’s next message sought to further his long battle against the free press that he refers to in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” He wrote that…

“Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post is INCOMPETENT! So sad to see him trying to justify the waste, fraud, and corruption at USAID with his pathetic Radical Left SPIN. He should be fired immediately!!!”

It’s about time that the U.S. government clamp down on wayward reporters who have the audacity to exercise their rights under the Constitution’s First Amendment. Especially Pulitzer Prize-winning columnists like Robinson. And leave it Trump, who regularly castigates the press and calls for censorship by the government, to lash out at a journalist and demand that he be fired.

It’s unclear what Trump was specifically referring to in his harangue. However, it is likely that he watched Robinson on MSNBC offering well-deserved criticism of Trump’s assault on the USAID program that “is the principal U.S. agency to extend assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms.” How dare they?

What probably triggered Trump was Robinson speculating that Trump and Musk were using USAID “as kind of a demonstration project, just to see how we can destroy an agency and demoralize the rest of the federal workforce.” Which would perfectly align with the behavior of the MAGA boys and their orchestrated coup.

UPDATE: Trump added another comment announcing that he is appointing himself as the chair of the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees, and terminating the current chair and “multiple individuals” from the Board. Why? Because he has nothing better to do (Elon’s running everything), and what the Center has been missing is a clod who has no relationship with modern culture? So look for future inductees like Kid Rock, Scott Baio, Roseanne Barr, and even Ivanka.

Sadly, there will be more of this sort of bullshittery to come, until they can be stopped by an uprising of protest among the masses, the Democrats in Congress, and the courts.

In less than three weeks he has presided over a federal spending freeze that devastates critical services, the gutting of law enforcement personal at the Justice Department and the FBI, and the illegal invasion of government facilities by the unqualified and unaccountable armies of Muskler Youth.

Trump Tower in bombed out Gaza

Near the top of the list of catastrophic Trump initiatives is his proposed scheme to commit blatant crimes against humanity by ordering the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, and declaring the occupied Palestinian territory a wholly owned property of the United States. Trump has neither the legal authority, nor the moral standing to make such a declaration. And his escalation of these preposterous pronouncements is a major contributor to his abysmal approval ratings.

On Thursday morning Trump quadrupled-down on his delusional Gaza annexation aspirations. He posted a comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that reaffirmed just how mentally twisted he is. He began by asserting that “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel,” as if Israel held that power, or even the inclination to do so. Then he bizarrely implied that the Democratic leader of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, is himself a Palestinian. And it just got worse from there. Trump claimed that the entirety of the Palestinian residents of Gaza…

“…would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth. No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!”

Never mind that the mass resettlement of a populations is a violation of international law. So is the assumption of their then vacant land for the habitation and profit of others. And if Trump really believes that all of that could be accomplished without a provoking a prolonged war between the Palestinians, the U.S., and Israel, he is farther along the path to debilitating senility that previously thought.

What’s more, Trump’s logic is so deeply flawed that it can easily be turned against him. If his proposal for resettlement is so great, why not resettle the Israelis? After all…

“They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.”

So maybe Trump could make a deal to buy Greenland, or Madagascar, or even Baja California, and move all the Israelis there. If New Israel were in Baja California, I would even move there. There would be peace and prosperity in a beautiful locale, with Mediterranean weather, and close to the U.S. Let the Palestinians have the god-forsaken desert in the Middle East with proximity to their Muslim neighbors.

Of course, that proposal is offered with a healthy heaping of sarcasm. One of the problems with moving either Palestinians or Israelis is that the land they are on now isn’t just some random piece of real estate. It is regarded by both sides as the ancestral homeland for their people, given to them by God. But Trump thinks that he can just pack them up and ship them off to some unspecified destination, even though every Arab country has already refused to take in the Palestinians.

Naturally, Fox News is all for Trump’s idiotic plans to uproot the Palestinians and steal the land. They can’t understand why the idea wouldn’t be accepted with unbounded glee. And Trump probably thinks it would be a good location for a Trump Golf and Resort Spa on the Mediterranean. But maybe he should Don Jr, or Eric or Elon there first to check it out and see if they can’t get Hamas to sign on.

In the meantime, The Daily Show had its own take on the subject. Host Desi Lydic noted that “Trump wants to turn Gaza into the Riviera? He couldn’t even turn Atlantic City into a nicer Atlantic City! If anything, they tore down so many of his casinos he turned Atlantic city into Gaza!”

The White House team that Trump has been assembling is one that is familiar to observant Trump watchers. It is comprised mostly of faithful followers and sycophants whose loyalty is reserved solely for Trump, rather than the Constitution or any other charter of laws.

After recruiting at least eighteen Cabinet and White House staffers from his Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News), Trump has returned the favor by sending one of his own brood back to Fox News. As reported by The Wrap, Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, will soon debut her new show – “My View with Lara Trump” – on the ultra-MAGA network…

“Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, will host a weekend show on Fox News, marking the first time a close family relative of a sitting U.S. President has done so. A former co-chair of the Republican Party, Lara Trump will launch the new weekend show on Fox News on Feb. 22, the network confirmed to TheWrap. […]

“‘I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to Fox News, talk directly with the American people and highlight what makes this country so great,’ Lara Trump said in the network’s statement. ‘As I cover the success of The Golden Age of America, I look forward to where this time will lead our country and where this opportunity will lead me in the future.'”

Lara Trump has surely benefited from her wedded relationship to the Trump klan. She has previously been employed by Fox as a contributor; she was installed to head the Republican National Committee; she got to perform some cringeworthy musical numbers; and now she’s being given an even higher profile platform on Fox as the star of her own program.

This is indeed unprecedented. Imagine how the MAGA cult would respond if Hunter Biden were given his own show on MSNBC. As Lara joins what Trump calls “the enemy of the people,” her hosting duties will obviously be confined to parroting the lies of her Sugar-Daddy-in-Law, Donald. She even admits as much in her statement above saying that she is only there to “cover the success of The Golden Age of America.”

In other words, Lara will ignore all of the far more numerous and horrific failures that Trump will – and has already – inflicted on the American people. Suffice to say that she will never report on Trump’s offenses against democracy and the government institutions that support it, such as…

Add to that Trump’s recent imposition of inflationary tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, and his latest idiocy, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza, which the U.S. would then take ownership of. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Trump Wants to Run America Like his Businesses – Trump Media and Crypto – That are Crashing

From the outset of his political misadventures, Donald Trump has sought to portray himself as an uncommonly successful businessman whose brilliance would benefit the nation that he promises to run just like he does his own businesses. However, when examining the real world record of Trump’s business management, that sounds less like a promise, and more like a threat.

As anyone who has done even a modicum of research knows, Trump has presided over a flurry of failures, including four bankrupt casinos, a fraudulent university, and cheesy consumer products ranging from steaks, to air travel, to vodka, to magazines, and to games. None of which exist anymore. Even his real estate ventures have been less than impressive. Many of them are just facades where he licensed his name to properties built by other developers. And many of those have since had his name removed.

Trump’s most recent effort is the Trump Media and Technology Group that is the parent of his Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. This attempt to cash in on social media has been spectacularly disastrous. It went public in March of 2024, and has lost 60% of it value since then.

There are some analysts who predicted that Trump’s businesses would enjoy a surge in value after his reelection. That has not been the case. Trump Media has declined 25% just since his inauguration less than three weeks ago. What’s more, Trump introduced a crypto coin just days before his inauguration. That has crashed 70% since then.

So anyone investing in the Trump brand since his reoccupation of the White House has lost a bundle of money. And anyone contemplating future investments will steer clear if they’re smart. One thing that Trump has established is that his ventures are scams that only serve to fatten his wallet at the expense of the rubes who fall for his pitch. Just take a look at the recent history of Trump Media…

Grifter-in-Chief Trump Puts His Truth Social Stock into a Phony Trust Controlled by His Son
A new SEC filing by the company revealed that Trump has transferred his majority share holdings to a revocable trust in an attempt to deceive the public that he is separating himself from financial interest in the enterprise. But like virtually everything else that Trump engages in, it is a thinly disguised scam structured to unscrupulously enrich himself.

LOSER Trump’s Truth Social is Well on its Way to Becoming His Next Bankruptcy
TMTG reported its earning for the second quarter of 2024. And it was not a pretty sight. As reported by Investor’s Business Daily, “Trump Media reported net sales of $836,000, down 30% vs. a year earlier. Operating costs soared to $19.5 million vs. $4.9 million a year earlier.”

Trump’s Truth Social is Shedding Users Like a Miserable Childless Woman’s Mangy Cat
The Donald Trump-controlled Truth Social platform recorded its third straight month of declining traffic. Truth Social attracted 2,112,000 unique visitors, down 38% compared to June 2023 when the site generated 3,407,000 unique visitors. It was the platform’s second worst traffic performance since June 2022 when Truth Social had only 1,891,000 unique visitors.

Trump Crime Syndicate: Investors Arrested for Insider Trading in Failing Truth Social Scam
Trump’s associates in his truthless, anti-social media venture were arrested and charged with insider trading. Reports indicate that “the three individuals together made more than $22 million in illegal profits.”

Truth Social Disease: Ads on Trump’s Twitter Ripoff are Mostly Scams and Trump-Fluffing Merch
Advertisers are afraid of their ads being juxtaposed with hate speech and other noxious content. Consequently, the only advertisers who are willing to shell out are sketchy scammers, conspiracy theorists, and junk peddlers.

Rupert Murdoch Slinks Into the Oval Office to Take His Punishment for Criticizing Trump

Trump’s campaign of contempt for the Constitution includes his illegal federal spending freeze that starves critical services of necessary funding; his wholesale termination of prosecutors and FBI agents who worked on the January 6th Capitol attack and Trump-related investigations; his storming of independent government agencies that warehouse confidential data about every citizen; his pardons for January 6th rioters who assaulted police officers; his threats of tariffs and invasions and annexations of American allies; and so much more…

In addition to that abridged account of Trump’s official atrocities, he has waged a war against the media that he refers to in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” However, his massive yet fragile ego compels him to cling to the attention he garners from the press even while he is disparaging it in the most vile manner.

On Monday morning Trump staged another of his reality TV-style photo-ops contrived solely to venerate himself. The affair was typical in that respect, although there was a curious detail that nearly went unnoticed. Seated with Trump in the Oval Office was Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and a variety of other extremist right-wing media.

The reason for Murdoch’s presence at this publicity stunt was not revealed, although it is known that he met privately with Trump beforehand. However, when reporters were permitted to ask questions, one of them sought to learn whether Trump’s agreement with Mexico to pause his threatened tariffs was a response to the stock market’s precipitous decline following the announcement of his trade war…

Reporter: Was that partially related to the market reaction and a criticism from Mr. Murdoch’s own newspaper? He called it the “Dumbest Trade War [in History]”
Trump: I’m going to have to talk to him. I’ve been right over the Wall Street Journal many times. I don’t agree with him on some things.

First of all, the alleged agreement that Trump claims got Mexico to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S. Mexico border, is likely as real as a diploma from Trump University. Trump bragged about having secured the same deal in 2019. And Biden actually did negotiate such a deal in 2021, without making hostile and unproductive threats against a friendly neighbor.

As to the matter of the Wall Street Journal article, Trump’s response was a rather jovial dismissal that didn’t much ruffle the feathers of Murdoch, who was sitting a few feet away. That’s a stark contrast from Trump’s comments the day before, when he posted on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that…

“Anybody that’s against Tariffs, including the Fake News Wall Street Journal, and Hedge Funds, is only against them because these people or entities are controlled by China, or other foreign or domestic companies.”

So yesterday Murdoch was “controlled by China,” and he was a purveyor of “Fake News.” What changed in the few hours since then that softened Trump’s opinion of Murdoch to one of a mere disagreement? Did Trump threaten him with a lawsuit for publishing the truth about Trump?

Is this just another example of the mainstream media capitulating to Trump out of cowardice and fear? Is Murdoch following in the footsteps of ABC News, who settled a meritless lawsuit by agreeing to contribute $15 million to Trump’s presidential library? Or the similar settlement by META (Facebook’s owner) for $25 million? Or what looks to be the makings of another similar settlement of another equally frivolous lawsuit against CBS News’s 60 Minutes?

Two years ago Trump sued CNN for defamation. CNN fought the suit and it was eventually thrown out of court because truth is not defamation. But more recently CNN also kowtowed to Trump by parting ways with one of their most honest journalists, Jim Acosta, who wasn’t afraid to criticize Trump. And unfortunately, it looks like the media isn’t heeding Acosta, who offered his colleagues some sage advice in his final segment on CNN saying “Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope,” and warning that “It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant.” Sadly, many in the media seem determined to learn this lesson the hard way.

The broad reach of Trump’s terror campaign will adversely impact every American family. Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia was interviewed Sunday morning on CBS’s Face the Nation. The discussion included an assessment of the damage that Trump is intentionally inflicting on the nation that he cares nothing about, except as a source of wealth and power for himself and his oligarch backers. Warner noted that the Trump administration’s stated goal is to “traumatize” federal workers, which he is carrying out right now.

“We’ve got chaos on steroids going on. We heard from Trump’s OMB, for example, that he wanted to ‘traumatize’ federal workers. Well, that is happening. And these workers are the folks that inspect our fruit, our milk, our eggs. What happens if they all quit?”

Good question! The problem is that Trump’s atrocious agenda will also traumatize all American citizens, because he and his billionaire klan couldn’t care less and won’t be affected. The craving for trauma was explicitly articulated by the Project 2025 author, and Trump’s nominee to head the Office of Management and Budget, Russel Vought, who said that…

“We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains…We want to put them in trauma.”

Imagine saying that about the people that you expect to show up for work on behalf of millions of Americans who rely on them for everything from Social Security and Medicare administration, to food inspections, to child welfare, to transportation safety, to national security.

The Trump Mafia has effectively declared war on the American government and, thus, the American people. And that war is already seeing horrendous casualties. They are evident in his recent orders to oppress the media that he regards as “the enemy of the people.” He promises to…

And that’s just a sampling of Trump’s two week barrage against America. Trump Kicks Reporters Out of Pentagon Offices, Replaces Them with MAGA Media Mouthpieces

Trump spends most of his time disparaging American institutions and the patriots who serve them. He despises the justice system, the military, free enterprise, academia, science, and even unbiased practices of faith. But perhaps the liberties that he is most averse to are those specifically cited in the First Amendment that protect freedom of the press. He is laser focused on turning the whole of government into a propaganda factory to attack his foes and exalt himself.

On Friday Trump issued a new decree to banish several media organizations from offices that they have occupied in the Pentagon for decades. The Department of Defense provided the office space to facilitate access for journalists to the stewards of the nation’s military. However, the message sent by Trump’s DoD is an unmistakable threat to press freedom, and an embrace of shameless propaganda. NBC News, one of the news outlets ousted reports that…

“NBC News, The New York Times, NPR and Politico must vacate their office spaces in two weeks for other news organizations — including at least one that did not request to be added.”

[And that…]

“The new outlets rotating in are One America News Network — which will take NBC News’s spot — the New York Post, Breitbart News Network and HuffPost.”

Needless to say, the Trump-fluffing One America News, Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post, and MAGA’s own Breitbart News, are not exactly paragons of journalistic integrity. But that’s who is moving into the office space previously reserved for more mainstream media sources that, even with their own imperfect records, are at least not brazenly sycophantic toadies who exist only to kiss Trump’s…let’s say ring. The NBC report added that the Pentagon…

“…did not include further details about the process of the new ‘rotation program,’ including how officials chose which outlets needed to vacate office space first, how the new outlets were chosen and which are next.”

Based on the disreputable outlets that are moving in, we hardly need much elaboration as to how they were chosen. And this is one of the first command decisions of Trump’s new Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, whose confirmation squeaked by in the Senate, despite his history of abusing women and alcohol, and his woeful lack of relevant experience.

Trump’s Press Secretary Stumped When Asked If It’s Safe to Fly – By Peter Doocy of Fox News

Within hours of the news that an American Airlines jet had collided with a military Blackhawk helicopter and crashed, killing everyone aboard both aircraft, Donald Trump had already drawn his conclusions as to the cause. He surmised that the cause of the tragedy was hiring practices that promoted diversity, equity, and Inclusion (DEI). He followed that up by blaming Presidents Obama and Biden.

Never mind that Trump had no evidence whatsoever that his racist conclusions had any merit, or even a remote relationship with reality. He neglected expressions of concern or condolences in order to advance his agenda of noxious bigotry, and to exploit the tragedy to attack his political foes. And of course, that narrative was faithfully supported by his obedient politburo chief, Karoline Leavitt, who has been busy clearing press credentials for devoted MAGA cultists.

On Friday morning, the White House press briefing took a bizarre turn when Peter Doocy of Fox News rose to ask Leavitt a question about the safety of air travel in America. He made an uncharacteristically insightful point about the consequences of Trump’s drumbeating of disparagement toward employees in the aviation sector that he regards as being too dark skinned, feminine, or otherwise representative of the diversity of the nation.

Doocy: If president Trump is telling us that air traffic control towers are staffed with unqualified controllers, DEI hires who never should have been brought on, then it’s not safe to fly commercially, is it?
Leavitt: The president was asked and answered this yesterday, and he believes that it is still indeed safe and Americans should feel safe traveling our skies. With that said, two things can be true at the same time. And we certainly have seen the deterioration of federal hiring standards at the Federal Aviation Administration. And the president wants to increase those standards.

Doocy’s question staggered Leavitt. It makes sense to reason that aviation safety is at risk if the people responsible for it are incompetent and/or unqualified, as Trump insists. And anyone who accepts Trump’s assessment should keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, rather than put their lives in the hands of freeloaders who shouldn’t have been hired. Right?

Well, according to Leavitt, the answer is more complex. She argues that “two things can be true at the same time.” In her view, the pilots, air traffic controllers, and other aviation staff can be inferior clods who, nevertheless, are still perfectly able to insure the safety of American travelers. Except for the times that they cause jetliners to crash into the Potomac. Leavitt elaborated on her duplicity theory saying that…

“When you’re flying with your loved ones, do you pray that your airplane lands safely and gets you to your destination or do you pray that the pilot has a certain skin color? I think we all know the answer.”

The choices Leavitt offers here are absurd in the extreme. Obviously every air passenger wants to land safely. But nobody “prays” that “the pilot has a certain skin color.” Well, except for racist Trump cultists and MAGA disciples who will only approve of white pilots. For instance, Trump flunky Charlie Kirk actually said “I’m sorry. If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.'”

Trump’s obsession with casting blame on Blacks, women, Democrats, and others for whom he has a visceral, inbred hatred, is emblematic of his rancid divisiveness. And in the furtherance of his prejudices, he couldn’t care less about whether or not what he’s saying about DEI true. And as PolitiFact affirms, it isn’t. But that won’t stop him. He won’t stop lying because he’s pathologically incapable of it. What’s more, he knows that his cult followers not only accept it, they love it.

Trump 2.0 Begins with Approval Ratings that Rank Below Every Other President Dating Back to 1953

While it may seem like it’s been two years, it has actually been less than two weeks since Donald Trump was inaugurated to resume his occupation of the White House. In that short period of time he has already surpassed his prior term with multiple acts that would qualify for either impeachment or the invocation of the Constitution’s 25th Amendment to remove him from office due to mental unfitness.

Donald Trump Circling the Drain

Among Trump’s growing list of impeachable offenses are his illegal firing of 17 inspectors general, his freezing of federal assistance and grant programs (that he has already been forced to rescind), his inhumane mass deportation plans, his vengeful revocation of security for former government officials who he regards as political foes, his inflationary tariffs that will mostly harm working class Americans, and his certifiably insane threats to invade and/or annex U.S. allies such as Panama and Greenland. No wonder he’s trying to transform his White House Press Room into a pure propaganda mill.

In addition to the deplorable endeavors noted above, Trump is also trying to staff his administration with the most unqualified and anti-American roster of Cabinet officers ever thrust upon the nation. Notorious cranks like Pete Hegseth, RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, etc., top his list of candidates to lead the country into an Era of Idiocracy.

So no one should be surprised that during what is usually dubbed the “honeymoon” phase of a new administration, Trump is suffering unprecedented unpopularity. According to Gallup “Trump’s Inaugural Approval Rating Is Historically Low Again.”

“At 47%, President Donald Trump’s initial job approval rating for his second term is similar to the inaugural 45% reading during his first term, again placing him below all other elected presidents dating back to 1953. Trump remains the only elected president with sub-50% initial approval ratings, and his latest disapproval rating (48%) is three percentage points higher than in 2017, marking a new high for inaugural ratings.”

Contrary to Trump’s incessant babbling about allegedly having received a mandate from the American people, he is floundering with double-digit deficits to Presidents Biden, Obama, and Carter. He’s even below Nixon. The only president with a lower rating than Trump in his second term, is Trump from his first term.

Perhaps even more troubling to this malignant narcissist’s massive yet fragile ego, are the dismal television ratings for his inaugural address, where he was also crushed by his nemesis, Joe Biden…

It’s also interesting to note that as Trump languishes at the bottom of the approval pile, the news network that he has said is “close to death,” MSNBC, and its star anchor Rachel Maddow, who he claimed “will be off the air very soon” due to her “horrible ratings,” are both enjoying a significant post election revival. The Wrap reports that “MSNBC saw a 61% ratings boost after Donald Trump’s inauguration.”

These are unarguably difficult times as America struggles to cope with the monstrous mistake that it made due to the gullible (and misogynist and racist) disciples of the Cult of Trump, and the failure of the media to accurately expose the risks that he posed to democracy.

However, what remains true is that Trump’s abhorrent presence is still lacking in majority support and, hopefully, clear-eyed. patriotic citizens will be more committed to resisting it in the days (and weeks and months) ahead. There is still a chance that he could be removed by impeachment if Democrats regain the House and the Senate in 2026. So keep hope alive!
