Crybaby Trump ‘Can’t Say Anything’ Due to Twitter Takedown, Whines Flack on Fox News

Donald Trump has maintained a virtual radio silence ever since his marauding horde of seditionists assaulted Congress on January 6th. It’s safe to assume he is pouting in his pantry with bags of Cheetos and watching reruns of his favorite parts of the riots as his cult disciples vandalized the Capitol and beat up law enforcement officers.

Donald Trump

The timeline of events now clearly shows that Trump waited hours before posting his disingenuous video asking his Troll Troops to go home and telling them that he loves them as they were ransacking America’s seat of democracy. We also know that he refused to deploy the National Guard to protect members of Congress and his own Vice-President, Mike Pence.

In defense of his deliberate negligence, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley was dispatched to Fox News to explain why Trump failed so miserably to react in a responsible manner that might have saved as many as five lives. Gidley blamed the media, telling Fox’s media correspondent Howard Kurtz that…

“The media are trying to have it both ways. On one hand he should be censored by ‘Big Tech’ and not be allowed to talk. He also shouldn’t say anything because it’s divisive. And then when he doesn’t say anything, and can’t say anything, because the platforms have removed him, they say ‘Where’s the President? Why aren’t we hearing from him?’ The whole thing’s disingenuous.”

First of all, it isn’t up to the media whether “Big Tech” suspends Trump’s posting privileges when he repeatedly violates their terms of service by advocating violence and disseminating harmful lies. It’s Trump’s responsibility to follow the rules, which he was warned about more than a hundred times. Secondly, Gidley’s complaint that Trump might be regarded as divisive is also within Trump’s sole control. In fact, he intends to be divisive.

However, the most preposterous point that Gidley proffered was the one where he claimed that Trump “can’t say anything” because Twitter suspended his account. Someone really needs to tell Gidley – and Trump – that the White House has a massive press operation that is specifically designed to put messages out to the public. They can even use more than 140 characters. What’s more, Trump has a right-wing media menu of outlets like Fox News, One America News Network (OANN), and Newsmax, to spread whatever falsehoods are clawing to get loose from their diseased craniums.

RELATED: Study Proves that Banishing Trump From Twitter Improved the Internet 73%

It’s notable that Gidley was asserting these accusatory grievances to the millions of viewers on Fox News as he was whining about having no outlet. So he knows that that channel for communications is available. Trump, however, hasn’t even made one of his self-serving phone-in interviews with the bootlickers on Fox and Friends to defend himself. it’s also notable that Kurtz didn’t bother to refute Gidley’s ludicrous claims as to Trump’s alleged inability to communicate with the public.

If the media is asking “Where’s the President,” it’s because Trump himself has decided to go into hiding in the final days of his failed term because he has no discernable excuse for the damage caused by his incompetence and malfeasance. And it’s clear that his spokesman isn’t any better able to make excuses for him either. And the same goes for Trump’s Fox News apologists. This is what the end looks like for a narcissistic sociopath with the emotional maturity of a six year old.

James Murdoch Scorches the ‘Disinformation’ and ‘Toxic Politics’ of… Fox News?

Last week the militant flank of Donald trump’s cult brigades mounted a seditious assault on the Congress of the United States. Their mission was to disrupt the legislative branch of government from performing its constitutional duty to certify the results of the presidential election. Their orders came from Trump himself who was intent on overturning the will of the American people and declaring himself the de facto dictator of the country.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Fox News, Titanic

Trump’s plot was a predictable failure, like pretty much everything else he attempts. But it still produced significant harm as at least five people were killed, and untold more injured. And that isn’t counting the harm it did to the nation’s reputation and faith in democracy.

However, this violent and unpatriotic insurrection didn’t happen in a political vacuum. It was whipped into a manic state of irrational fury by the relentless provocation of Trump, who devoted months to persuading his cult disciples to ignore reality and to disbelieve the facts about the election that he lost decisively to Joe Biden.

Trump was aided and abetted by an ultra-conservative pack of media shills who parroted his delusional assertions of election fraud. And that media contingent was led, as usual, by Fox News. Sycophantic bootlickers like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs, Jeanine Pirro and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends, all contributed to the flagrant flurry of falsehoods that buttressed Trump’s attempted coup.

The traitorous rhetoric disgorged by Fox News was produced and sanctioned by the family of Rupert Murdoch that controls the company. The patriarch, Rupert, still serves as chairman of the media empire. His son Lachlan is the current CEO. And their hand-picked executive team carries out their orders to advance the rightist dogma of the Trump-led Republican Party.

Rupert’s other son, James, has set himself apart from any operational role in the family business. Although he is still a major stockholder and sits on the board of directors. However, he appears to have somewhat less extremist conservative positions. And that was evident in his remarks following the Capitol riots:

“The damage is profound. The sacking of the Capitol is proof positive that what we thought was dangerous is indeed very much so. Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years. […]

“Spreading disinformation – whether about the election, public health or climate change – has real world consequences. Many media property owners have as much responsibility as the elected officials who know the truth but instead choose to propagate lies. We hope the awful scenes we have all been seeing will finally convince those enablers to repudiate the toxic politics they have promoted once and forever.”

James Murdoch nimbly avoided naming names in his commentary. But it’s difficult to imagine anyone other than Fox News when he cites “those outlets that propagate lies.” Fox News has long been the foremost offender among media sources that were “spreading disinformation” about “the election, public health or climate change.” So when brother James condemns the “media property owners … who know the truth but instead choose to propagate lies,” it’s impossible to believe that he isn’t referring to his father Rupert, and his brother Lachlan.

And James is right about the persistent damage caused by the purposeful dishonesty of his family of propagandists. They enabled both Trump and the hordes he commanded into the service of his totalitarian aspirations. His statement is a profound condemnation of a media Firestarter bent on burning down the foundation of American democracy.

However, what will James do about it going forward? As a board member and stockholder he has considerable clout in shaping the future direction of the company. And he has both ethical and financial arguments for insisting on major changes. After all, Fox News has taken a considerable hit in the ratings since the election on November 3rd. CNN has actually been beating Fox regularly since then. Even MSNBC has been outperforming Fox.

So now that Fox is languishing in third place it would be a good time to shake up their programming. The problem is that they have actually been getting worse and worse. They even announced recently that they will not broadcast an inaugural special on January 20th that is being carried by CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC. So if James wants to be taken seriously, he needs to do more than release statements to his pals in the press.

Trump Plans His Own Ego-Soaked Farewell Party As His Approval Hits Record Low

In the few days left before Joe Biden is inaugurated the 46th President of the United States, Donald Trump is laying low, confined to the bunker in the White House. He has an empty calendar with no speeches, meetings, or Fox News interviews scheduled. So it’s likely that his last public address will the one he gave on January 6th, where he commanded his cult disciples to storm Congress, resulting in at least five deaths and his second impeachment.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Donald Trump Rally, Sieg Heil

Trump has already announced that he will not attend Biden’s inauguration. At one point he was considering staging a counter event to compete with the official ceremonies and to launch his 2024 campaign. But that appears to have been abandoned. Now, as he becomes increasingly despondent, Trump may be planning his own farewell to the White House that he always considered a dump. As reported by CNN’s Jim Acosta:

What a sad, pathetic shell of an impotent former reality TV game show host. If Trump goes though with this it will be ready-made for mockery and serve as a pre-written satirical script for Saturday Night Live. It would be impossible to keep from laughing while watching the biggest loser, who has twice the impeachments of any other president, paying tribute to himself as he flees Washington.

Just picture the spectacle of Trump luminaries like Kayleigh McEnany, Stephen Miller, Roger Stone, and Rudy Giuliani (if Trump decides to pay him), lined up on either side of an orange brocade runway holding MAGA banners aloft, and “You Can’t Always Get Want You Want” playing in the background. Naturally, it will be covered only by Fox News, with Sean Hannity and Maria Bartiromo providing commentary to accompany a parade of celebrities including Scott Baio, Jon Voight, Roseanne Barr, and Ted Nugent.

Perhaps Trump will produce a video to recall his “accomplishments” of the past four years: Separating hundreds of children from their parents; erecting about four miles of wall on the southern border that Mexico didn’t pay for; befouling the environment; making healthcare less accessible and more expensive; alienating international allies; and killing nearly 400,000 Americans via his incompetent mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic. That’s a record of failure that will surely stand the test of time.

Trump’s self-exalting parade of narcissistic obsession will come at a time when his popularity reaches a record low. He has never approached 50% approval, but as he departs he just sunk to a dismal 29% in the Pew Research poll. The same poll found that a sizable majority of Americans (68%) “do not want Trump to remain a major political figure in the future.” About 76% (including 52% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents) say that Trump “bears at least some responsibility” for the riots at the Capitol.

So it is in that light that Trump is anxious to throw himself a party to celebrate his own awesomeness. This is going to be received with the same thrill of being informed of a positive herpes diagnosis. And it will also be the prelude to the next chapter in Trump’s latest impeachment as the Senate prepares to take up the matter in the days following. If there’s one thing we can be certain of, it’s that Trump seems determined to make his exit from the world stage as humiliating as possible. Which is nothing less than what we expected.

Fox News Clings to Trump’s Big Lie of Election Fraud that Fueled the Capitol Riots

A week ago several thousand Donald Trump cult disciples stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the constitutional duty of Congress to certify the results of the presidential election. These traitors terrorized members of Congress, their staff, and Capitol security. Five people died during the insurrection, and many more were seriously injured.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Fox News, Terrorism

The impetus for this assault on democracy was Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election was stolen from him by some nefarious and massive Deep State cabal. Never mind that there is no evidence whatsoever of this alleged conspiracy. Just the allegation was sufficient to inflame Trump’s followers and produce a historic and tragic atrocity carried out by fatuous fools under the influence of flagrant falsehoods.

Within a week Trump was impeached for his role in inciting the riots, which he threatened would result in even more violence. He may be right. His cult is notoriously hostile and not known for their adherence to reason or facts. And it makes little difference that he posted a video asking to find common ground. With racist conspiracy crackpots? Not likely.

All of which makes what aired on Fox News Thursday morning more heinous and dangerous. Trump’s trade advisor, Peter Navarro, who has zero credentials to address these matters, appeared on Fox News for an interview with their Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo. The segment could only be described as a further incitement to violence (video below):

Navarro: What happened yesterday [the impeachment vote] was a travesty. The Democratic Party did violence to this country by attacking a president who I believe was legally elected on November 3. If the election were held today he’d be elected again. And if he runs in 2024 he will be elected then. And I think that’s what the Democrats fear. I’ve never been more pissed off in this place, and I think there’s 74 million Americans out there who voted for President Trump who feel exactly the same way.”

Notice that Navarro tries to linguistically associate Democrats with violence when all of the violence was caused by Republicans and Trump supporters. More ominously, he is regurgitating the very same “Big Lie” that Trump has been pushing about a “rigged” election, which is what triggered his supporters to commit terrorist crimes in the Capitol. This is a brazen attempt to incite more violence, just as Trump warned. Navarro then engaged in this exchange with Bartiromo:

Navarro: So I would say to these people on Capitol Hill, “Knock it off. Stop this.” Let the man leave peacefully with his dignity. He was the greatest jobs president, the greatest trade negotiator we’ve ever had in history. And this is just wrong what they’re doing.
Bartiromo: We know that there were irregularities in this election. We know that 70% of Trump voters have said we’re not buying this election. We think it was rigged. But get this, you cannot say that on social media. You will get banned.
Navarro: You can’t say it anywhere.
Bartiromo: You can’t use the word “irregularities.” And if you say there was fraud it’s absolutely outrageous. This feels more like communist China than it does America, that they have the ability to stomp out free speech.

First of all, suggesting that Trump has any dignity is just another big lie. What’s more, he is literally the worst jobs president ever. As for trade, he has only succeeded in imposing tariffs that have crippled American businesses.

Then Bartiromo returns to the election fraud lie, saying that “70% of Trump voters have said we’re not buying this election.” So what? Those are Trump’s dimwitted zealots whose opinions were formed by his hammering falsehoods into them. Of course they feel that way. That is not, however, the way the majority of Americans feel. They support his impeachment and removal from office.

Both Bartiromo and Navarro then make the absurd observation that you can’t say the election was rigged. Notice that they are both saying it on a national television network. Bartiromo goes further to compare her false allegations to the media in communist China. Once again, she’s making that charge on her own nationally broadcast TV show. The only plausible comparison that can be made in that regard is the comparison to how devotional and sycophantic she and her Fox News confederates are toward Dear Leader Trump.

Fox News seems to be doing everything in its power to exacerbate an already volatile situation. An analysis by Media Matters shows that Fox News has cast doubt on the results of the election nearly 800 times in the two weeks since Fox itself called the election for Joe Biden. They seem to be purposefully antagonizing Trump’s terrorist brigades. There just isn’t any other plausible explanation for their persistent dissemination of Trump’s lies. And if they keep it up, they will make sure that Trump’s prediction of more violence comes true.

Trump Seeks ‘Common Ground’ With Racist, Seditionist, Violent, Conspiracy Crackpots

Donald Trump is fond of bragging about being the bestest “whatever” he happens to be ranting about at any particular moment in time. Well now he can honestly say that he is the most impeached president ever – by far! I know it. You know it. Everyone knows it. He has twice the impeachments of any other president. He has impeachments like no one has ever seen before. So much impeachment that you’ll get tired of him getting impeached (doubtful).

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Donald Trump, MAGA

There should be automatic deportation, or at least incarceration, for anyone impeached more than once. How many assaults on the country should be tolerated before there are tangible consequences? So far, Trump is getting a pass for his treason and is attempting to whitewash his crimes.

In response to his record setting impeachedness, Trump released a video in which he claimed to be shocked by the violence that he purposefully incited (and continues doing so). He is now calling for the tensions he recklessly inflamed to be calmed. It will be interesting to see if his glassy-eyed cult disciples comply with this request, or if they are now an autonomous mob of anti-American Trumpian insurrectionists who defy even their Dear Leader’s pathetic and disingenuous appeals.

In addition to Trump’s desperate grasping at legal absolution in his video, he couldn’t resist lashing out (again) at social media for finally taking action against him and his supporters who have been advocating and orchestrating violence. It’s telling that Trump couldn’t just admonish those committing violence in his name and leave it at that. Nope. His ego raised up to interrupt this message and whine about being deservedly banned by Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, et al. However, his crybaby tirade only made things worse. He asserted that he was “calling on all Americans to overcome the passions of the moment, and join together as one American people.” Elaborating, he said that…

“I also want to say a few words about the unprecedented assault on free speech, we have seen in recent days. These are tense and difficult times. The efforts to censor, cancel, and blacklist our fellow citizens are wrong and they are dangerous. What is needed now is for us to listen to one another, not to silence one another. All of us can choose by our actions to rise above the rancor and find common ground and shared purpose. We must focus on advancing the interests of the whole nation.”

Don’t be fooled. Trump, who has repeatedly maligned the free press as “the enemy of the people,” is not suddenly concerned about some generalized “assault on free speech.” He is only concerned about himself and is upset that he can’t tweet anymore. However, his self-serving invective is revealing when you know who he is so anxious to find “common ground and shared purpose” with.

The parties Trump is coming to the defense of are predominantly the perpetrators of violence and disseminators of dangerously dishonest conspiracy theories. They are QAnon, Stop the Steal, and other deviant purveyors of lies, and agitators like Alex Jones. You cannot “rise above the rancor” if those for whom you are advocating are the most vile and rancorous instigators.

What’s more, Trump’s criticism of “efforts to censor, cancel, and blacklist,” can’t be taken seriously. He is the King of Cancel Culture. He will demand that any person or company or organization that doesn’t unreservedly worship him be banished from society. He has explicitly called for boycotts of “offenders” at least ten times, mostly against American businesses such as Harley-Davidson, CNN, Apple, Macy’s, Univision, Mexico, HBO, Rolling Stone, AT&T, and even Fox News.

It is most definitely not the time to listen to the racists, seditionists, and conspiracy crackpots with whom Trump is so closely aligned. To the contrary, they must be driven out of the public discourse. Trump’s efforts to prop them up in the midst of a speech that is allegedly calling for peace is further proof of his unapologetic hypocrisy and/or severe dementia.

Trump’s Impeachment Message Fails to Condemn His Violent Seditionists

The second impeachment of Donald Trump was in progress for hours when the desperate and despondent President sent an urgent message to his most fervently loyal supporter, Fox News.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Donald Trump, Nazi Flags

The message that Trump sent was short and blatantly self-serving. It read

“In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence. NO lawbreaking, and NO vandalism of any kind. That is not what I stand for, and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank you.”

The first thing to make note of here is that Trump did not go on television himself to deliver this message. He apparently doesn’t think that keeping the peace during the nation’s quadrennial transfer of power isn’t important enough to warrant his personal attention. Instead, he sends his message – not to the whole of the press where more people will hear it – but to Fox News alone.

More importantly, Trump’s message was carefully worded to avoid accepting any responsibility on his part or the part of the hostile insurrectionists that he incited. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone considering that he and his confederates have actually been threatening more violence if he is held to account. His disingenuous request to refrain from violence isn’t even directed at the perpetrators of violence. Notice that he aims his remarks at “ALL Americans,” as if all Americans just assaulted Congress last week in an insurrection that resulted in at least five deaths.

By not identifying those responsible for the atrocities in Washington, Trump is, in effect, letting them off the hook. Either that, or he’s accusing all Americans of these heinous acts. But he knows full well who is responsible. He knows who is organizing the upcoming demonstrations he referred to. And he knows that they have a propensity for violence.

Last week Trump and others on the right claimed that the congressional attackers weren’t Trump supporters at all. He pointed his short, knobby fingers at Antifa, an organization that doesn’t actually exist. However, as satirist Andy Borowitz pointed out, “If, in fact, Trump thinks that the rioters were Antifa, it was really nice of him to do that video where he said that he loved them.”

Finally, Trump’s assertion that violence is “not what I stand for,” is a flagrant lie. Violence has been a core part of his “movement” from the start. He has praised those who assaulted his critics. He fantasized about assaulting them himself. And with regard to the attack on Congress, he told his cult disciples that “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” He said that at a rally just prior to sending them off to invade the Capitol. He also said that he would be going with them. That was also a lie. He actually returned to the safety of his bunker at the White House. And this is the “macho man” that his cult idolizes?

Watch Trump and his shills, especially Fox News, disgorge inflammatory rhetoric to incite his civil war:

Trump Warns Of More Violence If He’s Impeached For Inciting Violence

After a week of conspicuous silence since the Trump Insurrectionists assaulted Congress, Donald Trump finally made a few self-serving remarks to the press on his way to a photo-op with his holey border wall that Mexico didn’t pay for. It was typical of Trump’s exploitation of the media to exalt himself and malign his foes.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Donald Trump Dreamer

The first of his comments came while leaving the White House. He called the new moves by Congress to impeach him “a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics,” and complained that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are “causing tremendous danger to our country, and it’s causing tremendous anger.” That’s coming from someone who fired up a dangerously overheated mob by telling them that “we fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore”

So Trump is issuing a warning that any effort to hold him accountable for his inflammatory rhetoric that inspired a mob of coup plotters would result in further violence by the same deviant mob. It’s not unlike a Mafioso threat to comply lest something terrible happen to your lovely shop. It’s demanding capitulation to a terrorist threat.

Trump addressed the press again later to elaborate on his threats of rising anger among the troops of his seditious army. After lashing out at the “horrible things” “Big Tech” is doing, he wrapped himself in the warm fuzziness of what he imagines is “support probably like nobody’s ever seen before.” He’s actually kind of right. His support is currently at a record low of 33% and majorities say he should be removed from office or resign. And it isn’t going to improve with more dishonest and utterly incoherent exchanges like this one:

Reporter: What is your role in what happened at the Capitol? What is your personal responsibility?
Trump: So if you read my speech – and many people have done it and I’ve seen it, both in the papers and in the media on television. It’s been analyzed, and people thought that what I said was totally appropriate. And if you look at what other people have said, politicians at a high level, about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle and various other places, that was a real problem, what they said. But they’ve analyzed my speech and my words and my final paragraph, my final sentence. And everybody, to the tee, thought it was totally appropriate.

First of all, not “everybody” thought Trump’s pre-packaged propaganda video in response to the attack on the Capitol was “totally appropriate.” In fact, there was a broad based and bipartisan rejection of his tone deaf support of the attackers wherein he called them “special” and gushed that “we love you.” Many Republicans effectively surrendered by pleading for unity in a futile attempt to evade accountability of their own.

Meanwhile, Trump and his shills in Congress and the press are struggling mightily to characterize his impotent abdication of duty as strength, when it’s nothing more than lame victimhood. He’s whining about his loss of privileges on Twitter, Facebook, etc., as censorship driven by political differences. That’s a deliberate (and coordinated) lie. Trump was booted from these platforms because his comments incited his already deranged cult disciples to violence. Had he not been so purposefully inflammatory he would still be tweeting.

Trump is behaving perfectly in alignment with his sociopathic character, or lack thereof. It’s nothing less than one would expect from a malignant narcissist under intense pressure as his world is falling apart. And it’s why it is so important to proceed with impeachment and make certain that Trump pays for his crimes and can never again be in any position of power. And the same goes for his congressional and media enablers.

UPDATE: Not surprisingly, Fox News is also advocating capitulation to domestic terrorists. Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade echoes Trump’s position that holding the President accountable for inciting violence will trigger more violence and, therefore, the terrorists should be left alone to commit violence without impunity:

If You Thought Fox News Would Be More Moderate in a Post-Trump World, Think Again!

With less than two weeks until Donald Trump is officially stripped of his presidential duties (which he hasn’t been performing anyway), Fox News is sending their audience of radical evangelical conservatives a clear message that they intend to continue their mission as the preeminent voice of wing-nuttery in America.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Donald Trump, Fox News, Fake

The network that has served as Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda for the last four years is shifting from it’s strictly pro-Trump stance to one that is more broadly anti-Biden and anti-liberal. And as an added feature, Fox News programming appears to be pursuing an even more extremist right-wing ideology that is even farther removed from reality.

On Monday morning’s Fox and Friends, several segments proudly skipped off the rails with utterly fantastical presentations of Bizarro World news alerts. Take this segment with Fox’s “Judge” Jeanine Pirro, for example, where she tried to illustrate the differences between Democrats and Republicans:

“This is the difference between the left when they are in power and the right when they are in power. When the Republicans are in power everything is polite and genteel. And when the Democrats come in they’re gonna strip your First Amendment free speech. They’re gonna suppress you, cancel you, impeach you. They don’t care about the business of the American people.”

“Polite and genteel” Republicans? It’s pretty safe to presume that Pirro’s GOP confederates don’t approve of whatever mind-altering pharmaceutical she’s been gumming. Republicans are notorious for their raging hostility and division, especially during the Trump years. What does Pirro find “polite” about accusations that Democrats will destroy America? And how is it “genteel” to charge that the media is “the enemy of the people”?

Furthermore, Pirro needs to provide some evidence that Democrats have ever stripped anyone of their First Amendment rights. To the contrary, it’s Republicans who are constantly clamoring to shut down free speech. And they started the impeachment thing with Bill Clinton over his private sexual encounters when they couldn’t find actual proof of any illegality related to his presidential duties.

Pirro went on to associate the deplatforming of the ultra-rightist Twitter alternative, Parler. “What we’re seeing,” she alleged, “is a kind of censorship that is akin to a Kristallnacht.” Actually, what we’re seeing is someone who has no idea that Kristallnacht – the Night of Broken Glass – had nothing to do with censorship. It was a violent assault on a Jewish community by Hitler’s thugs. So it was much more akin what Trump’s thugs did last week when they assaulted Congress. And it was disgusting that Pirro would exploit it so shamelessly to advance her ignorance and lies.

To elaborate on Fox’s new obsession with the welfare of insurrectionist speech, they brought in Dan Bongino, a Fox News contributor, far-right blowhard, and Parler’s founder. Bongino ranted incoherently about the absence of “free markets” online because…

“Twitter and Facebook are subsidized by the United States government – a law, Section 230 – where they’re allowed to pull down or leave up whatever they want. And they’re immune from lawsuits due to 230.”

Bongino then complains that Parler, which gets the same benefits under the law, was taken down and didn’t get the “trillion dollar” government subsidy. That may be because there was no trillion dollar subsidy for any of these websites. He’s literally making this stuff up as he goes. It’s also clear that he doesn’t know what Section 230 is. If he did he wouldn’t complain about its provisions to indemnify websites (like his) from slander lawsuits based on comments that their users post.

Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade focused on the right’s main argument against impeachment. and it’s a doozy:

To be clear, Kilmeade is proposing terrorism as a valid means of protest. He is telling the terrorists that if they want to force the hand of government, just engage in acts of violence – even murder. Then, when the “country is ready to explode” because “the President said repeatedly that he was robbed,” insist that “good leadership would bring down the temperature.”

In other words, give in to the terrorists, let them off the hook, and comply with their demands for fear of further violence. Which is funny because that just happens to be the terrorist’s strategy. Which should make you wonder whose side Kilmeade is on.

For that matter, we should also wonder whose side Fox News is on. As if we didn’t know. If this is an indication of the direction that Fox is moving for the post-Trump era, then it’s clear that they intend to continue to be a divisive and destructive factor in American media and politics. It’s what they were founded to do. And it will be all the more necessary to remain vigilant and prepared to expose their biases, lies, and nefarious motives going forward.

Fox News Host Smugly Laughs at Death and Destruction By the Trump Terrorists He Incited

The Trump Insurrection of 2021 has resulted in the deaths of five Americans – so far. And the violent invasion of Congress as it attempted to perform its constitutional duties left many more injured. But equally disturbing is the stain it left on the fragile fabric of democracy. And yet, Donald Trump – who professed his love for the terrorists – continues to ignore the consequences and evade accountability.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

One of the reasons that Trump gets away with his atrocities is that he has the unflinching support of right-wing media, especially Fox News. The network acts as Trump’s de facto Ministry of Propaganda, and it’s top hosts have shamelessly glorified him (and still do), no matter how appalling his actions or grotesque his behavior.

Chief among the contingent of Fox News Trump-fluffers is Tucker Carlson. And he is anxious to cement his kneeling position in the wake of the Trump Insurrection. On Friday night’s episode of his White Nationalist Hour (video below), Carlson launched a pity party by whining that it is Fox News that is under attack by media foes that he simultaneously says are weak and irrelevant. “This morning,” Carlson whined, “CNN announced that it is working to force the Fox News Channel off the air and run this company out of business.” Poor baby. He is plainly distraught and perhaps suffering from PTSD (Post-Trump Sedition Disorder). His hysterical tirade continued…

“CNN staffers have already contacted the six major cable carriers in this country – those are the companies that carry our signal into your home – and pressured them to drop Fox News. Why? On the pretext that this show and others is directly responsible for the violence at the U.S. capitol this week. ‘It is time,’ CNN announced, quote ‘that TV carriers face questions for lending their platforms to dishonest companies that profit off of disinformation and conspiracy theories. So here you have a news company calling for censorship. You have a TV network demanding that media conglomerates ban its competitor.”

That grumbling of grievances was, of course, just another litany of lies. CNN never pressured cable companies to drop Fox News. They never called for censorship. They never demanded that Fox News, or any other media outlet be banned. That was all invented in Carlson’s biased, paranoid, and wildly overactive imagination. And from that warped perspective he launched a bizarre and infantile fantasy that featured CNN’s CEO Jeff Zucker, whom he called “CNN’s blustery little dwarf king” and described as “sitting on the tiny throne in his apartment, feet dangling just above the floor, watching Fox News and getting angrier and angrier.” [NOTE: That last part sounded more like a description of Trump]. You really have to wonder how Carlson, whose emotional maturity is pre-toddler, got a primetime show on television. Although his landing on Fox News followed being fired by PBS, CNN, and MSNBC.

Carlson went on to chastise CNN’s Brianna Keilar’s reporting on the Trump Terrorists in Washington. He literally laughs at the description of them as “insurrectionists,” and mocks their vandalism and assault on police officers as they sought to disrupt the congressional certification of the election. He took particular offense at her reference to his show and his personal culpability for the environment that produced the seditious rioters.

Naturally Carlson, a flaming white supremacist, was most offended by any suggestion that “white privilege” played any role in how the riot unfolded and the police response to it. That obvious observation by Keilar elicited more sanctimonious laughter from Carlson. For context, here is what Keilar actually said on her CNN program:

“We regularly discuss what the Big Tech companies have done to poison the public conversation by providing large platforms to bad-faith actors who lie, mislead, and promote conspiracy theories. But what about TV companies that provide platforms to networks such as Newsmax, One America News — and, yes, Fox News?

“Somehow, these companies have escaped scrutiny and entirely dodged this conversation. That should not be the case anymore. After Wednesday’s incident of domestic terrorism on Capitol Hill, it is time TV carriers face questions for lending their platforms to dishonest companies that profit off of disinformation and conspiracy theories. After all, it was the very lies that Fox, Newsmax, and OAN spread that helped prime President Trump’s supporters into not believing the truth: that he lost an honest and fair election.

“Yes, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin and others are responsible for the lies they peddle to their audiences. But the TV companies that beam them into millions of homes around the country also bear some responsibility. And yet we rarely, if ever, talk about them.”

So Keilar was addressing real problems with the partisan falsehoods that contributed to the violence at the Capitol. And she expressed the rational opinion that questions need to be asked in order to fully understand what happened, what caused it, and how to prevent it in the future. But those questions, in Carlson’s diseased brain, were out of bounds and deserving of his wrath and mockery.

The truth is that any criticism of Trump would antagonize Carlson and his Fox News confederates. They have subjugated their free will and reason in favor of worshipping the master of the Cult of Trump, to which they are devoted disciples. It’s emblematic of the descent into madness by both Fox News and the Republican Party. They have come utterly undone. And in their hypnotic state of idolatry they see no evil and speak only in glowing expressions of adoration and amazement at the perfection of Dear Leader.

Trump is Hiding in His Bunker Watching Fox News Whine About His ‘Confused’ Voters

On Thursday morning Donald Trump was released from Twitter prison [although News Corpse still has not been – see note below] so he posted a video that was his weak-kneed version of a concession speech. He led off by criticizing the Capitol terrorists that he incited and professed to “loving” the day before. He defended his treasonous crusade to overturn the election and the will of the American people. And he pretended to support a “smooth, orderly, and seamless transfer of power.”

Trump in Bed, Eating, Sad

Notice that Trump never used the words “peaceful” or “concede.” Nor did he acknowledge Joe Biden as President-Elect. But he did restate his delusional conspiracy theory that the election was fraudulent and his pitiful and failed pursuit of imaginary evidence was in the interest of democracy.

On Friday morning Trump took to his Twitter machine again to pay tribute to himself and his legions of dimwitted cult followers. He tweeted that…

Once again, Trump is focused on his warped rendering of reality by recognizing only the losers that voted for him, while ignoring the fact that 81 million people voted for Biden. He apparently doesn’t regard them as “great American Patriots.” But he is concerned that his sheep will be herded off into well-deserved historical obscurity.

However, this wasn’t some spontaneous burst of consolation for these lost souls. Shortly before Trump’s tweet, Fox News was discussing his defeat and the fate of his despondent voters. Fox and Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt was awash in empathy, and Trump’s tweet appears to be a direct response to that:

That’s funny, because neither Earhardt, nor Trump, nor Fox News, ever expressed such concerns for the majority of people who voted for Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016. They never acknowledged the far more credible fears of those voters for “the future of this country” that turned out to be prescient in a tragic way. And that applies not only to the assault on democracy orchestrated and incited by Trump and his Fox News Ministry of Propaganda (which is still disseminating dangerous lies). It also applies to the catastrophic and deadly neglect and incompetence of Trump’s mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earhardt did get one thing right, though. Her characterization of Trump’s cult as “confused” is a fitting description of his glassy-eyed hordes, albeit somewhat understated. It would be more accurate to describe them as deranged due having been fed a diet of flagrant lies and blatant bullpucky for the past four years. She should have pointed out that their so-called confusion was entirely due to Trump’s dishonesty and egomaniacal aspirations for unchallenged, authoritarian power. As well as the disinformation produced by Fox News on Trump’s behalf.

Finally, Trump’s assertion that he supports a smooth transfer of power is contradicted by another tweet on Friday morning:

Clearly Trump’s ego won’t permit him to stand behind the new president, like every other retiring president has done. He simply cannot tolerate not being the sole center of attention. He’s afraid of being revealed for – and remembered as – the loser that he is and always has been. And he refuses to grant recognition to anyone other than himself.

Trump doesn’t say where he will be on Biden’s inauguration day. Golfing? Conferring with his attorneys to avoid prison? Fleeing the U.S. to a country without an extradition treaty? Or just swaddled under the covers in his Mar-a-Lago bedroom watching Fox News, or Newsmax, or OANN, or listening to Rush Limbaugh, and fantasizing that he really did win reelection as he chows down some KFC, diet cokes, and Adderall?
