Trump’s New Campaign Slogan Inspired By His Angry Debate Act: ‘There’s Nothing to Smile About’

The 2024 presidential election provides what may be the most stark contrast between candidates that the American people have ever seen. On one hand we have Kamala Harris, who will become the nation’s first woman president, running on a platform of reverence for democracy, commitment to the working class, strong diplomatic alliances, and a national sense of harmony and joy. On the other hand, we have Donald Trump.

Trump has carefully constructed a public image that is best represented by his persistently scowling visage. He wears it like a mask to convey to his glassy-eyed cult followers what he thinks is strength, while simultaneously whining about what a pitiful victim he is of his multitude of foes.

In the wake of Trump’s disastrous debate debacle, he has been consumed by the broadly agreed upon consensus that he lost to Harris, due primarily to his seething rage and utter contempt for the truth. For an hour and half, when he wasn’t outright lying about nonsense like pet cuisine, he was yelling about “millions and millions” of immigrant prisoners and mental patients pouring into, and destroying, the country. Never mind that the country is thriving, in part due to contributions from immigrants.

On Thursday morning Trump took to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, to continue his post-debate meltdown. After being critically reviewed as a loser by everyone from Taylor Swift to Fox News, Trump obliviously declared that he was actually the winner, saying in part that

“I won the Debate, but was criticized by the Radical Left Lunatics because I looked “angry and forceful.” But think, why wouldn’t I be angry? I love the U.S.A., and it is being destroyed by grossly incompetent leadership. […] Am I supposed to be smiling, like Comrade Kamala Harris, with her FAKE one-and-a-half hour smile and long practiced facial expressions? […] No, there’s nothing to smile about!”

And there you have it. Trump’s shiny, new, inspiring campaign slogan for 2024: “There’s Nothing To Smile About!” That should motivate his StormTrumpers to the polls in November. Just like all of the other successful campaigns that relied on dystopian delusions and fear mongering. Remember Ronald Reagan scaring his supporters to the polls by threatening “Morning in America”? Or Barack Obama’s frightening chants of “Hope and Change”?

Trump’s new mantra was conceived to counter the impression he left as a cantankerous crybaby. And in furtherance of that goal, he is also demonstrating his distance from sanity by declaring that “I won the debate,” despite the reviews of those who reside in the real world.

What’s more, Trump took a swipe at Harris, who he has criticized for the unforgivable sin of laughing. Now he is also condemning her for the horror of smiling and daring to permit her face to have expressions (you know, like a human being), rather than his practice of plastering on a sneer that would give children nightmares for weeks.

The closer it gets to election day, the more of this malarkey we can expect from Trump and his MAGA minions. And it will only get worse as his electoral prospects decline. Which, if he continues to have maniacal outbursts like these, is a near certainty. The only question now is whether Trump can maintain some cognitive functionality until November 5th. I wouldn’t put money on it if he keeps doing stuff like this…

  1. My wife said that he looks like a toddler who’s got a full diaper-load.

    • Your wife is probably right! I suspect that he loads his diaper at least two or three times a day!

  2. What is it about THIS insane fantasy that brings out the fancy memes? The images LOOK great, if what they’re saying is pathetic and nonsensical. Normally, the Drumpfys are terrible at memes, but somehow the artwork at least is quite acceptable.

    How did THAT happen?
