Fox News Finally Admits that Republicans Have No Healthcare Plan, Then Blames it on Democrats

From its inception thirty years ago, the mission of Fox News has been to promote the Republican Party and its right-wing principles. With the advent of a populist cult leader in Donald Trump, Fox News adjusted their role from political ally to glassy-eyed loyalists, performing the function of Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda.

Fox News, Donald Trump Baby

Fox News isn’t just an arm of the MAGA media machine, it actually employs Trump’s Daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, as a primetime weekend program host. That’s just one example of how closely Trump and Fox are intertwined. More examples are readily available. Such as how Fox News gushes over the alleged physical and mental superiority of Trump, despite all the evidence that both are in severe decline.

However, the latest example of how devotional Fox News is toward their Dear Leader came in Monday’s episode of Trump’s favorite Fox News morning show, Fox and Friends. In a segment intended to bash Democrats for not supporting Trump’s illegal war against Venezuela, co-host Brian Kilmeade, detours to the valid criticism of Trump that he isn’t paying attention to the things that matter most to the American people. And high on that list is the crisis over healthcare availability and affordability. Unfortunately for Kilmeade, his strategy just affirms how out of touch the GOP is. And how dishonest Fox News is.

Kilmeade: “I have news for you. The Republicans don’t have a health care program. They can’t have a crisis. It’s your program that’s in crisis. And you can, as a president, have a foreign policy and a domestic policy.”

Okay then. Democrats have long denounced the Republican Party for not having a healthcare plan. The GOP has raged about the Democrat’s Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) for fifteen years, promising to repeal and replace it. But in all that time they have never managed to deliver an alternative. Nevertheless, they insisted that they were ready to go forward with their imaginary plan that they assured was better and cheaper. If only it existed.

Kilmeade then concluded that the GOP’s lack of a healthcare plan means that any healthcare crisis is therefore the fault of Democrats. WTF? It is Republicans who have tried to hobble Obamacare which, by the way, is broadly popular with the majority of the American people across political lines.

Kilmeade also points to Democrats and says that “It’s your program that’s in crisis.” No it’s not! It’s the people’s program. And it’s Republicans who are deliberately putting it in crisis by refusing to extend the premium subsidies, without which costs will double or triple or worse. But to Fox News that’s the Democrats’ fault? Also, Kilmeade says that a president can “have a foreign policy and a domestic policy.” That’s true. And Trump has neither.

This is familiar behavior by Republicans. They can’t take responsibility for anything. They currently control the House, the Senate, the presidency, and the Supreme Court, but still say that Democrats are to blame for the hardships being thrust on the nation that is being governed by Republicans.

Fortunately, later this year there will be an election that looks to be trending in favor of the Democrats. And when they have the upper hand, they will show Republicans, and the nation, that progress can be made when you have the people’s interests at heart, and the intelligence and compassion to act on their behalf. Rather than the GOP cowards who are beholden only to Herr Trump.
