Fox News Howls Hypocritically Over Biden Correctly Calling Peter Doocy a ‘Stupid Son of a B*tch’

Every now and then a politician speaks from the heart and articulates a message that is honest and expresses what many already know to be true. And on Monday President Biden provided an exquisite example of just such a moment.

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

At a White House event on the Biden administration’s efforts to combat inflation, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy shouted out a question that was typical of his tendency to turn questions into statements that advance the ultra-rightist narratives of Fox News. He should know better considering how often he is humiliated by that tendency. On this occasion, Doocy’s insolent inquiry led to this brief exchange:

Doocy: Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?
Biden (Sarcastically, to himself): That’s a great asset – more inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch.

Biden’s private observation – which was not directed at Doocy, who didn’t hear it – was an understandable reaction to a pointless question. It served no purpose other than to politicize an economic situation that is adversely affecting the American people, and that Biden is trying to resolve without assistance from the GOP.

Obviously high inflation would impact the midterm elections, if it is still present ten months from now. Perhaps Doocy should be reminded of James Carville’s famous political maxim that “It’s the economy, stupid.” Carville could have directed that straight at Doocy, but for the risk of hurting his feelings.

For the record, Biden called and apologized to Doocy shortly after. He didn’t have to, but it is what a conscientious adult would do. And Doocy accepted the apology. However, his confederates at Fox News were far less forgiving. In fact, they were fixated on what they tried to portray as a scandalous breach of presidential decorum. Which is evidence of their blinding hypocrisy and feigned ignorance of the atrocious behavior of their notoriously profane Dear Leader, Donald Trump.

For instance, Tucker Carlson was incensed by Biden’s whispered commentary, saying that…

“Today, Joe Biden, mistaking himself for an emperor, informed reporters that ‘we don’t want to hear any shouted questions about Ukraine [which Biden didn’t say], so Fox’s Peter Doocy, trying to be polite, tried to ask him a question about inflation.”

Carlson then played the video of Biden and went on to insult him saying “What a nasty old man,” and childishly maligned his mental acuity asserting that he “doesn’t remember saying it.”

It’s notable that Carlson called MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough “stupid” on the air just last week. He has not apologized. What’s more, when Fox News addressed this incident, they flagrantly misrepresented what happened saying “POTTY MOUTH: Raging Biden curses out Fox News’ Peter Doocy as he takes his bitterness towards the press to a new level.”

The video clearly shows that Biden was hardly “raging.” And there is no record of his having any bitterness toward the press. That was Trump, who repeatedly called the media “the enemy of the people.” As for who’s the “potty mouth”

Republicans, however, seem to have selective amnesia on this subject. Trump lawyer and Newsmax contributor, Jenna Ellis, asked via tweet, “Can you imagine if Trump said this to a reporter?” Sadly, we don’t have to imagine. Also, GOP insurrectionist Rep. Jim Banks, whose son works for Tucker Carlson, had the audacity to tweet this:

Seriously? Are Ellis and Banks really so brain damaged that they’ve forgotten all the times that Trump attacked and maligned the free press? Especially Black women. Here’s a reminder for them:

As it turns out, recognizing Doocy’s stupidity isn’t a partisan affair. A few years ago Republican Sen. John McCain said it to his face:

Fox News and the Trumpian Republican Party will undoubtedly keep fixating on this triviality. That’s because they can’t make a credible argument against Biden’s leadership and his agenda for the nation that most Americans support. So unfortunately we’ll have to expect more of these preposterous hysterics as we get closer to the midterm elections, and as the law gets closer to nailing Trump. It’s really all they have left.

UPDATE: GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former White House “doctor,” told Brian Kilmeade of Fox News that “I’ve seen this multiple times with people the President’s age who are starting to have cognitive issues […] He’s not fit to be our head of state.” And Jackson is too dense and dishonest to see that his analysis didn’t apply at all to Biden, who was neither “short-tempered” nor “striking out” at anyone. But Trump fits his analysis to a tee.

Consciousness of Guilt? GOP Trump-Fluffer Seeks to Obstruct January 6th Insurrection Probe

Nearly eight months ago a crazed horde of hostile Donald Trump cult disciples invaded the United States Congress in an attempt to block the constitutionally mandated certification of Joe Biden’s election. They broke windows, battered down doors, and assaulted police officers, while chanting threats to kill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hang Vice-President Mike Pence.

Donald Trump Insurrection

Pelosi gave Republicans an opportunity to support an independent investigation of the January 6th insurrection, but they stubbornly refused. Pelosi then set up a House Select Committee that Republican minority leader Kevin McCarthy also declined to participate in. McCarthy threw a tantrum when Pelosi nixed two of his proposed Committee members, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks, due to their support for, and personal connections to, some of the insurrectionists. Those connections created the potential that they could be called as a witnesses themselves.

As the Committee prepares its investigation, it sought documents related to the events of January 6th and any communications between the insurrectionists and persons in government positions, including the White House, cabinet departments, and members of Congress. That, of course, might include Rep. Jim Banks (R-QAnon).

In what appears to be a pre-emptive move to prevent the disclosure of activities that could implicate him in crimes, Banks fired off a letter to Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson making the specious argument that it was improper to request the materials being collected. Banks also sent the letter to the general counsels of AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

“One House Republican is gearing up to fight an effort from the committee probing the Jan. 6 Capitol attack to collect the communications of members of Congress.

“The pushback from Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) comes after committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) told reporters this week that he plans to ask telecommunications companies to turn over the records of several hundred people, including lawmakers.”

The letter that Banks sent sounds strikingly similar to the pleading of a defense attorney trying to suppress evidence that incriminates his client. Banks gave the telecom companies unsolicited advice saying that “recipients of legislative subpoenas retain their constitutional rights throughout the course of an investigation.” So what we have here is a member of Congress (who does not serve on the committee of jurisdiction) attempting to persuade corporations that possess materials relevant to an investigation to withhold those materials. That’s not suspicious at all, is it?

Banks is taking a page from the playbook of his mentor and messiah, Donald Trump. When Trump heard about the subpoenas by the Committee, he released a statement, via his spokes-shill, Liz Harrington (whose proxy Trump tweeting is violating Twitter’s rules against circumventing a ban), claiming that…

“Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of my Administration and the Patriots who worked beside me, but on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our Nation.”

You have to wonder if it’s the result of Trump’s narcissism, ignorance, or dementia that causes him to believe that he still has the power to invoke executive privilege.

Finally, it should be noted that the letter Banks sent was probably written in consultation with his communications director, Buckley Carlson. Buckley is the son of Fox News ranter, Tucker Carlson, who last month viciously slandered one of the police officers who heroically defended the Capitol on January 6th.

Banks has proven that Pelosi was right to block him from the Committee. His extremist views show that he would not have been interested in an honest investigation, but rather only in protecting Trump and defending his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from him. The very lie that Trump used to incite the insurrectionist riots in Washington, D.C. in the first place.

DumbFox: GOP Clowns Bash Biden for Vacationing While He’s Working at a Military Facility

This weekend the situation in Afghanistan took a disastrous turn as the Taliban successfully advanced on the capitol in Kabul. There is blame enough to go around for this debacle that begins with the father of the conflict, George W. Bush. President Biden’s role is limited due to the missteps by Donald Trump, whose negotiations virtually handed Afghanistan to the Taliban. Then he left Biden with a deployment of only 2,500 American troops, far too few to take on the Taliban terrorists’ newly empowered by Trump’s prior agreement.

Joe Biden, Tweet

In the wake of the Taliban’s progress, Fox News rushed out one of their standard propaganda pieces that cast a negative spin on Biden. It was titled “Biden hammered for spending time at Camp David while Taliban take over Afghanistan.” The opening sentence read…

“Republican members of Congress criticized President Biden on Sunday for spending time at the Camp David presidential retreat instead of the White House as the Taliban fought to finalize a takeover of Afghanistan.”

This is typical of how Fox News avoids any effort to produce legitimate journalism. First of all, it isn’t exactly news that Republicans criticized President Biden. What else do they ever do? More importantly, the entire premise of the article is nonsense. It seeks to demean Biden for going to Camp David as if it were some kind of vacation. And that theme was present throughout the article and the quotes from ultra-partisan, right-wing Republicans like Jim Jordan, Tom Cotton, Lauren Boebert, Elise Stefanik, and Jim Banks:

Jordan needs a refresher course on apostrophes.

Biden isn’t hiding. He’s working. But Republicans can be forgiven for not understanding that since they never do it.

Most people wouldn’t consider Afghanistan reverting to where it’s been for decades a “crumbling” world

There’s that “vacation” BS again.

This, coming from an apologist for the January 6th domestic terrorists.

What every single one of them fails to recognize is that Camp David isn’t a summer camp. It’s a military facility. In fact, according to the White House website it is “Known formally as the Naval Support Facility Thurmont,” and is run by the U.S. Navy. It is fully equipped for secure communications and has been the site of historic conferences with both domestic and international leaders.

Anyone portraying Biden as anything other than fully engaged in current events is simply injecting their partisan biases into the matter. But what else would you expect from the Republican hacks and Fox News shills who seem to be rooting for American defeats? Just like their Dear Leader Trump who tweeted by proxy (a violation of Twitters rules against circumventing a ban) that…

“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen in Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and out crippled economy, It shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place!”

That deranged, lie-riddled message hardly needs a reply. So let’s just leave it at noting that Trump is the one who allowed this to happen. And it is Trump who, along with Fox News, is responsible for the “tremendous surge” of the COVID pandemic. And the remaining bits of his whining rant are simply flagrant lies.

However, the most loathsome part of Trump’s alt-tweet is where he opines about the legitimacy of the election. It was that “Big Lie” that led to the deadly insurrection on Capitol Hill on January 6th, and threatens to fuel even more violence. But then, that’s precisely what Trump, the GOP, and Fox News are aiming for.

Why Is Fox News Racist Tucker Carlson Smearing a January 6th Capitol Police Hero?

On Wednesday afternoon House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded appropriately to GOP leader Kevin McCarthy’s transparent attempt to make a mockery of the House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. McCarthy tried to stack the Committee with a pair of fervent foes of democracy, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks. Both of these extremist Republicans are devoted members of the Cult of Trump who support his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from him. The very lie that Trump used to incite the riots in Washington, D.C. in the first place.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, QAnon

No rational person could criticize Pelosi’s decision not to seat Jordan and Banks. It would be like seating Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby (or Donald Trump) on a committee to probe sexual harassment. But Fox News isn’t known for their rational people or analyses. And that’s especially true with regard to Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, who has been on a tear recently with idiocy like his paranoid delusion that the National Security Agency (NSA) is spying on him. Or his dangerously dishonest claim that health authorities know that vaccines don’t work and they aren’t telling you. Or his baseless accusation that the FBI orchestrated the January 6th insurrection.

Consequently, Carlson immediately launched into a predictable condemnation of Pelosi and the Committee’s effort to get to the truth of what happened on January 6th, why it happened, and what led up to it. In the course of his knee-jerk jabbering he somehow managed to take a detour toward a racist attack on a Capitol Police officer who courageously defended the seat of America’s democracy.

Officer Harry Dunn put his own life at risk to protect members of Congress, their staffs, and the Constitution, whose duties the House was in the progress of undertaking. But Carlson was focused solely on his ultra-partisan obsession with slandering Democrats and any unfortunate who happened to be in line of fire. He said (video below)

“So the Committee will proceed with one party. What will it look like. Well, think MSNBC with subpoena power.

“On Tuesday Pelosi will call a Capitol police officer called Harry Dunn. Dunn will pretend to speak for the country’s law enforcement community. But it turns out Dunn has very little in common with your average cop. Dunn is an angry left-wing political activist whose social media feeds are full of praise, not coincidentally, for Nancy Pelosi. Here’s a picture of the two of them together.

“‘Racism is so American,’ Harry wrote in one post, ‘that when you protest it, people think you are protesting America.’ Hashtag ‘Leave it to whites to tell blacks what is racist,’ hashtag ‘I stand with Ilhan Omar,’ hashtag ‘Squad.’ Harry Dunn, ladies and gentlemen. Just another fact-based witness to the insurrection.”

Where upon Carlson introduced his guest, Jim Jordan. Carlson’s rant presents a dumpster of derp that requires some further exploration. First of all, the Committee will not proceed with one party. Pelosi has already appointed one Republican, Liz Cheney, and there could be more. If Carlson has a problem with the make up of the Committee, he should direct his whining to McCarthy who childishly took his ball and scampered away after Pelosi nixed his two most radical opponents of an honest probe.

Secondly, Carlson’s assertion that Dunn would “pretend to speak for the country’s law enforcement community,” is pure fiction. Dunn never claimed to do so, and he isn’t the only member of law enforcement who will be testifying. What’s more, Carlson’s characterization of Dunn as “an angry left-wing political activist” is wholly inappropriate. He is a police officer who was doing his duty during a violent riot without any of the political posturing that marks everything Carlson does or says. Which means that Dunn actually has much “in common with your average cop,” but nothing in common with Carlson.

Thirdly, Dunn is an citizen who has every right to express his opinion outside of his official duties. But Carlson apparently doesn’t believe that Dunn is entitled to the freedoms that every other American enjoys. Could it be because he’s black and proudly supports his people? Well, it’s interesting that Carlson chose to attack Dunn, but not the white officers who are scheduled to testify before the Committee.

Finally, there is another element to this melodrama that needs further attention. Carlson is obviously very upset that Pelosi rejected Banks and Jordan for seats on the Committee. However, he failed to disclose that his son, Buckley Carlson, is Banks’ communications director. So Carlson is enraged that his son’s boss was denied the opportunity to dishonestly distort the events of January 6th, but he didn’t think it was important to reveal that familial connection, a clear conflict of interest and breach of ethics.

That’s the sort of white privilege that is present in much of Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson’s elitist life as the son of a diplomat and the heir to a frozen food fortune. Only now he is combining it with a hatred for police officers, African-Americans, Democrats, and patriots who respect the Constitution. And as usual, Fox News is behind him all the way.
