Trump’s WH Press Secretary, Stephanie Grisham, Reveals He Envied Putin’s Ability to Kill Critics

The well documented evidence of Donald Trump’s seething sociopathy just got bolstered by one of his closest advisors. Trump’s former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, worked for him starting with his 2016 campaign, and was promoted throughout his occupancy of the White House, eventually to communications director. She was a close and trusted confidant with intimate access to all of Trump’s activities.

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

However, since Trump’s electoral loss in 2020, Grisham has reappraised her service to the twice-impeached megalomaniac. Her deliverance from the Cult of Trump began when she witnessed his real-time response to the January 6th insurrection, which was unbridled glee. Last year she published a tell-all book about her experiences in the cult.

Grisham remains a staunch critic of Trump, and says she is now “terrified” by the prospect of him running for president again. She isn’t alone. She appeared on ABC’s “The View” Wednesday with some additional reasons to be afraid of Trump’s continuing aspirations for power. She spoke specifically of Trump’s infatuation with brutal tyrants in general, and Vladimir Putin in particular:

“He really admired Putin. And I saw that first hand. I saw him say to Putin, ‘Hey, I’m gonna be tough on you in front of the cameras, you understand? And once the cameras are gone we’ll have a real conversation.'”

Grisham elaborated saying that Trump “was afraid of” Putin, and also that “he admired him greatly:”

“I think that he wanted to be able to kill whoever spoke out against him. […] He loved the dictators. He loved the people who could kill anyone, including the press.

Grisham isn’t the only one to reveal Trump’s craving to assassinate journalists. Trump said so himself during a summit with Putin. After expressing his desire to “get rid of” those pesky reporters, Trump engaged in this exchange with with his BFF:

Trump: Fake … fake news. Great term, isn’t it? You don’t have that problem in Russia. We have it. You don’t have it.
Putin: Yes, yes. We also have. It’s the same.

Trump was obviously envious of what he thought was Putin’s freedom from having to deal with a free press. But Putin’s correction needs a little context. The only reason reason he doesn’t have the same problem with reporters in Russia is because he has any who are critical of him killed. Which is what Trump is so clearly jealous of. He wants unflinching devotion from everyone. And that includes the American people. He once articulated his wish that Americans would worship him like North Koreans worship Kim Jong Un.

It’s astonishing that, with all the documentation of Trump’s diseased mentality and malignant narcissism, that anyone could still support him. But that’s the nature of a cult. And his followers are fully indoctrinated. Which makes them imminently dangerous. They are also outnumbered by decent and sane citizens. We just need to be certain that they remain engaged and turn out to vote. The alternative is unthinkable.

Trump’s Rabid Response to Biden’s January 6th Speech is Just as Deranged as You’d Expect

On the anniversary of Donald Trump’s January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C., both the White House and the Congress presented solemn observances to mourn the victims, honor the heroes, and memorialize the event for history.

Donald Trump, King

President Joe Biden delivered a speech that spoke passionately to American unity, while demanding that the perpetrators of the violent and treasonous coup attempt be brought to justice. Biden’s address (video below) began by noting that…

“For the first time in our history, a president had not just lost an election, he tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power as a violent mob breached the Capitol. But they failed. They failed. And on this day of remembrance, we must make sure that such an attack never, never happens again.”

Biden called Trump out for advancing “lies conceived and spread for profit and power.” He elaborated saying that Trump lies…

“…because he values power over principle, because he sees his own interests as more important than his country’s interests and America’s interests, and because his bruised ego matters more to him than our democracy or our Constitution. He can’t accept he lost.”

In the meantime, Trump took to Twitter (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) to double-down on the flagrant falsehoods he’s been flinging for more than year. This tweet tantrum is in lieu of the “news” conference that he previously scheduled, then chickened out of. But Trump’s perversion of reality is just the latest of his infantile outbursts that serves no purpose other than to viciously malign his enemies and exalt himself. He began with a particularly hysterical lie, saying that…

“Biden, who is destroying our Nation with insane policies of open Borders, corrupt Elections, disastrous energy policies, unconstitutional mandates, and devastating school closures, used my name today to try to further divide America.”

Trump accusing others of “destroying our nation” and being “insane” is peak irony. And of course he is lying about Biden’s record. But that isn’t news. He’s also whining that Biden “used my name,” in speech where his name was not mentioned even once. Perhaps that’s what the malignant narcissist is really upset about. And he surely doesn’t like being labeled by Biden as the “defeated former president.”

Trump continued with his litany of lies about alleged Biden failures. He said that “Our Country no longer has Borders, has totally and completely lost control of Covid (record numbers!), is no longer Energy Independent, Inflation is rampant, our Military is in chaos.” All of which is demonstrably untrue. Not that that matters to Trump.

The remainder of his tweet focused solely on his fixation about the 2020 election. And he closed with the bizarre assertion that “The Democrats want to own this day of January 6th so they can stoke fears and divide America. I say, let them have it.” Really? Trump is gifting the day of violence and treason that he orchestrated to Democrats. Isn’t that generous of him?

In a follow-up tweet, Trump reiterated his rant that the “real insurrection” was on Election Day, November 3rd, 2020. Biden masterfully addressed that preposterous claim in his speech saying that…

“The Big Lie being told by the former president and many Republicans who fear his wrath is that the insurrection in this country actually took place on Election Day — November 3rd, 2020. Think about that. Is that what you thought? Is that what you thought when you voted that day? […] Can you think of a more twisted way to look at this country — to look at America?”

Trump is desperate to deflect from his culpability for the insurrection and to evade the consequences of his criminality. In addition to his role in plotting the assault, his purposeful neglect for three terrifying hours was unarguably dereliction of duty. That’s something else that Biden addressed as well, noting that Trump was…

“…sitting in the private dining room off the Oval Office in the White House, watching it all on television and doing nothing for hours as police were assaulted, lives at risk, and the nation’s capital under siege.”

That disgusting scenario was affirmed by Trump’s former White House communications director, Stephanie Grisham, who told CNN that “All I know about that day is that he was in the dining room gleefully watching on his TV as he often did, [saying] ‘Look at all the people fighting for me,’ hitting rewind, watching it again.”

How sick is that? And yet it is precisely what anyone who has observed Trump for the past few years (decades?) would expect. As nauseating as his behavior was and is, it is still not particularly surprising. And that says more about what a low-grade, sub-species specimen Trump is, and how important it is to make certain that he is never again anywhere near the seat of power in this country.

Traitor Trump Goes on Newsmax to Cheer for His BFF Putin Hours Before Biden’s Summit Call

The Russian dictator really got his money’s worth when he chose to back Donald Trump. For four years Trump advanced Vladimir Putin’s interests in the United States, particularly with respect to undermining American democracy. Who can forget Trump taking Putin’s side over that of U.S. intelligence with regard to Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election?

Donald Trump Vladimir Putin

Now, after Trump has been out of office for nearly a year, he is still doing Putin’s dirty work. As Russian troops amass on the border with Ukraine, President Biden was preparing for a tele-summit with Putin in order to advise him not to go forward with any plans of aggression against their neighbor. So naturally Trump booked an appearance on the Trump-fluffing Newsmax network to act as Putin’s mouthpiece. In a segment intended to disparage our American President and exalt his Russian counterpart, Trump once again delivered the goods for the enemy.

Trump, as usual, began with a blatant lie. “I was tough on all of them,” Trump bragged. “With China we took in hundreds of billions of dollars of taxes and tariffs. Nobody’s ever seen that before.” He is still peddling the nonsense that tariffs are paid by the government of the country they are imposed upon. The truth is that the costs of tariffs are borne by the U.S. companies that import the sanctioned goods. Trump’s own economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, was forced to admit that on Fox News. What’s more, those costs are often just passed on to American consumers. But China didn’t pay one red cent. Then Trump got to the meat of his treason:

“Now I see that Biden is gonna be talking to Putin and that’s not a fair match. That wouldn’t have been a fair match in prime time. This is not a fair match for our country. And the Election was rigged and it was stolen, and this is what we got. This is not a match that should even be allowed. Take the New England Patriots playing your high school football team, that’s what you have right now.”

What Trump is doing here is handicapping Biden in the summit talks. To the detriment of our nation’s interests, Trump is praising his Russian boss and denigrating his American nemesis. This isn’t the first time that Trump has done this. Prior to a June summit with Putin, Trump explicitly stated that he trusts Putin more than his fellow Americans.

Notice also that Trump regards the summit as something akin to an episode of his reality TV game show. To Trump it’s a “match” televised in primetime. And he thinks that Biden shouldn’t be “allowed” to represent the country that elected him by an overwhelming margin. He even felt compelled to throw in his “Big Lie” that “the Election was rigged and it was stolen,” because that further supports Putin’s goal of weakening our democratic principles.

Trump likes to pretend that he was tough on Russia. But his own press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, revealed in her recent book that…

“Trump told Putin, ‘Okay, I’m going to act a little tougher with you for a few minutes. But it’s for the cameras, and after they leave we’ll talk. You understand?”

It is downright treasonous for a former president to deliberately sabotage the current one with slanderous insults such as these. Especially on the eve of a critical summit meeting. But Trump has never exhibited anything remotely resembling patriotism, other than his empty and cliched rhetoric. It’s disgraceful and dangerous as Russian troops line their border with Ukraine. But it’s nothing less than what is expected from Trump and the propaganda spewing media machines that support him.

UPDATE: Tucker Carlson is also taking Putin’s side re: Ukraine. And Newsmax is is doing outright PR for Putin…

Trump Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham is ‘TERRIFIED’ He’ll Run in 2024 – She’s Not Alone

Donald Trump’s former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, is currently promoting her new book, I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw at the Trump White House,” which comes out October 5, 2021. She was interviewed Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America by George Stephanopoulos, where she revealed some of her experiences as one of Trump’s longest serving aides.

Stephanie Grisham, Fox News

Excerpts from Grisham’s book have already disclosed, such as Trump’s unsavory fealty to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Other reports included descriptions of his bizarre behavior toward his staff, particularly women. But the GMA interview broke new and troubling ground. In it Grisham told Stephanopoulos that “I am terrified of him running for president in 2024.” She’s not the only one. The interview also featured this disturbing exchange:

Stephanopoulos: You were enabling the culture [of casual dishonesty] weren’t you?
Grisham: Yes, I was. And I reflected on that, and I regret that. Especially now watching him and so many people push the false election narrative. I now want to, in whatever way I can, educate the public about the behavior in the White House. Because it does look like he’s gonna try to run in 2024. […]

Grisham: He’s on his revenge tour for people who dared to vote for impeachment. And I want to just warn people that once he takes office, if he were to win, he doesn’t have to worry about reelection anymore. He will be about revenge. He will probably have some pretty draconian policies that go on.

It’s a little late for Grisham to express her regrets when she spent five years enabling the lies and megalomania that led to Trump’s insurrection and attempted coup. She addressed her own failures in the interview and conceded that she was no hero and that she wasn’t looking for praise. She just wants to get the truth out now before Trump has a second chance to complete his authoritarian takeover.

Progressives don’t have to embrace Grisham to appreciate her belated confessional. As someone who has been a long-time, trusted insider in the Trump cult, she has a unique perspective that could reveal further unethical, and potentially illegal, activities. She should be among the first former Trumpsters deposed by prosecutors investigating his administration’s many crimes.

As for Trump, he appears to be spooked by Grisham’s disclosures. He has already lashed out at her with his predictable, infantile insults, saying that it was “obvious from the beginning” that she “didn’t have what it takes.” Which affirms his tendency to staff his White House with “all the best people” that he later deems to have been incompetent all along.

What’s more, Trump complained that her book was put out by a “radical left-leaning publisher.” That would be HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., the parent company of Fox News. They have also published books by such radical left wingers as Jared Kushner, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, and Ted Cruz.

Trump’s customary reaction to criticism is to throw childish tantrums. He literally told Mike Pence that “I don’t want to be your friend anymore if you don’t” usurp power that you don’t have to overturn the election results in Congress. And Trump is going full scorched earth over the revelations in Grisham’s book. Which can only mean that it’s likely all true and that he’s scared witless. As he should be.

UPDATE: Grisham tells CNN that Fox News, OAN, etc., were like state-run TV for Trump and could “potentially cause a lot of damage.”

Press Secretary Grisham: Trump Told Putin He Would Only ‘Act Tough’ for the Cameras

Throughout the single term presidency of Donald Trump, it was impossible not to notice his fawning affinity for authoritarian tyrants, and especially Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Trump expressed his admiration for Putin at the the Helsinki “Treason” Summit where Trump bowed down to the Russian dictator repeatedly. He told Putin that he envies his ability to “get rid of” the press. More recently, Trump said that he trusts Russia more than Biden and the U.S.

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

Next week a new book will be released that contains more evidence of Trump’s humiliating subjugation to Putin. The book, I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw at the Trump White House,” by Trump’s former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, promises to cast a light into some of the darker corners of Trump’s White House. And one of the first excerpts released to the public references Trump’s hero and mentor, Vladimir Putin. Grisham writes that…

“With all the talk of sanctions against Russia for interfering in the 2016 election and for various human rights abuses, Trump told Putin, ‘Okay, I’m going to act a little tougher with you for a few minutes. But it’s for the cameras, and after they leave we’ll talk. You understand?”

Trump was fond of portraying himself as a macho man, despite also bragging that he is the most fabulous whiner.” He frequently lied that no one was tougher on Russia than he was. But on everything from election meddling to the annexation of Crimea, Trump either adoringly defended Putin or was conspicuously silent.

Now we know that Trump’s pseudo-strongman facade was as fake as his skin tone. Even worse, it was a concession by Trump to our most aggressive adversary to pretend to be a tough guy in public while maintaining his servility in private. Grisham is revealing that Trump was, in effect, betraying the interests of the nation in order to gain Putin’s favor.

True to form, Trump has already lashed out at Grisham with his customary and infantile insults. And as usual, there is no apparent basis for his charges other than his rancid and personal animosity. Via his spokes-shill (and proxy tweeter in violation of Twitter’s ban), Liz Harrington, Trump said that…

“Stephanie didn’t have what it takes and that was obvious from the beginning. She became very angry and bitter after her break up and as time went on she was seldom relied upon, or even thought about. She had big problems and we felt that she should work out those problems for herself. Now, like everyone else, she gets paid by a radical left-leaning publisher to say bad and untrue things. Too bad that sleaze bag publishers continue to report this very boring garbage. We and the MAGA movement are totally used to it. And someday in the not too distant future we will have our voice back and be treated fairly by the press.”

This is another case of Trump admitting that he was a terrible executive who staffed his White House with people he later said were idiots. In Grisham’s case Trump said that her ineptitude was “obvious from the beginning.” Which begs the question, why did he hire her to be his press aide during his campaign and then repeatedly promote her to be his special adviser for his transition team; then his deputy press secretary under Sean Spicer; then his White House press secretary and communications director; and finally Melania Trump’s chief of staff?

Trump’s tirade also maligned Grisham’s book as coming from a “radical left-leaning publisher.” That would be HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. They also publish books by such radical left wingers as Jared Kushner, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, and Ted Cruz.

Harrington added that Grisham’s book is “another pitiful attempt to cash in on the president’s strength and sell lies about the Trump family.” although she never cites anything that she asserts is untruthful. Harrington also leans on the common cliché that Grisham, who resigned on her own after the January 6th insurrection, is a “disgruntled employee.” Worst of all, Harrington claimed that Grisham was allegedly suicidal, which is a gross – and potentially illegal – violation of Grisham’s privacy.

Trump’s blatant disloyalty to the nation was evident throughout his occupation of the White House and his abhorrent, anti-democratic behavior afterwards. While Grisham is no angel herself – she defended Trump throughout his presidency and never held a single press briefing during her tenure as press secretary – that only makes her account more credible, because she can’t be dismissed as a never-Trumper. And the revelations in Grisham’s book will surely not be the last of the disclosures of Trump’s treachery in and out of office.

HUH? White House Lawyers Tell Court That Trump is Afraid Reporters Will ‘Moon’ Him

Donald Trump has a well-established and all-consuming hatred for the media. That’s despite his fierce embrace of it when he needs to disseminate his lies and propaganda. It’s further affirmation that he is an unstable heap of contradictions and logical short-circuits. One day he is bellowing in Stalinist terms that “the media is the enemy of the people.” The next day he’s retweeting the Washington Post or Fox News (about which he has an abundance of other acute cognitive lapses.

Donald Trump, Subway

Trump’s aversion to media is rooted in two character flaws that dominate his warped persona: dishonesty and fear. With regard to his ceaseless deceit, Trump is a pathological liar who has been documented as having told more than 18,000 lies since his inauguration. With regard to his snow-flakiness, Trump trembles like a reed in a hurricane whenever the press dares to tell the truth about him. For an alleged “leader of the free world,” Trump whines like a colicky infant in the face of ordinary scrutiny by the media. His obsession exceeds the standard parameters of paranoia.

Last year Trump’s White House press office blew a gasket when Brian Karem, a report for Playboy Magazine, engaged in banter with Nazi-apologist, and Trump shill, Sebastion Gorka. Afterward, press secretary Stephanie Grisham suspended Karem’s White House press pass. Karem sued to get his credentials restored and won a court judgment on the basis that his constitutional rights of freedom of the press (1st Amendment) and due process (5th Amendment) were infringed. The White House appealed the ruling and Karem once again prevailed. But in the course of the proceedings we learned something peculiar about Trump and his regime. The ruling in the case admonished, and even mocked, White House attorneys saying that…

“Raising the specter of the absurd, the White House argues that it cannot be the case that ‘the Press Secretary would be powerless to take action even were a reporter to “moon” the President, shout racial epithets at a foreign dignitary, or sexually harass another member of the press corps.’” […] “The White House can rest assured that principles of due process do not limit its authority to maintain order and decorum at White House events by, for example, ordering the immediate removal of rogue, mooning journalists.”

That’s right, in seeking to censor a journalist, Trump’s lawyers argued that there was some risk that reporters would bare their behinds to the President and they sought legal relief from that terrifying prospect. Of all the things that Trump is afraid of, this may be the most delectably bizarre. Perhaps this fear played a role in Trump retreating to the White House bunker this week when protesters where gathered across the street at Lafayette Park. And one cannot help but wonder if this contributed to Trump’s decision to deploy the military against American citizens, each of which is armed with a possibly loaded derriere.

It gives a hole new meaning to the threat of assassination. Butt, to be fair, Trump has never been able to deal with other people’s wise cracks. And it would get confusing if he weren’t the only arsehole in the room. So getting rid of Karem and the other potential mooners is a policy that he could really get behind. In fact, that’s something everyone can drink to. So bottoms up, America!

CONFIRMED: Trump’s White House and Reelection Campaign are Joined at the Lip

Ever since the creation of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Donald Trump has hijacked their daily press briefings to advance his personal interests. He wasted the time of both the Task Force members and the American people so that he could spew lies about imaginary accomplishments and shamelessly pay tribute to himself. That’s when he wasn’t whining about media coverage and yelling petulantly at reporters who asked pertinent questions.

Kayleigh McEnany, Donald Trump

The briefings that were supposed to keep the public informed were exploited to boost Trump’s floundering reelection prospects and to satisfy his voracious ego and need to constantly be the center of attention. It has been an unethical failure of duty by both the White House and the media, which should have refrained from live airings of Trump’s flagrantly partisan, reality show-style tantrums.

Now the marriage of Trump’s White House and his 2020 reelection campaign operation is complete. CNN is reporting that White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham has been given the boot. That’s not much of a loss considering that the only thing she did in her eight months on the job was to serve as the resident Trump-fluffer on Fox News. She never held a single press conference.

Grisham’s replacement – and Trump’s fourth press secretary in three years – will be the Trump campaign’s spokesperson, Kayleigh McEnany. Clearly Trump is suffering some anxiety about the November election and feels that it’s necessary to turn his White House into an arm of his campaign. Apparently commandeering the coronavirus briefings for that purpose wasn’t sufficient. So Trump has tapped one of his most shrill and glassy-eyed devotees to make the case to the media that he is a “stable genius.”

For an example of the deft communications skills that McEnany will bring to the White House, see this video of her last month insisting that “We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here,” and remarking that “isn’t that refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of President Obama.”

Like most of the Trump cultists and Fox News sycophants (I know, that’s redundant), McEnany was dismissing the threat of a pandemic that many experts were already warning was inevitable. And in this video she is being “interviewed” by Trish Regan, who was fired by Fox last month for a commentary asserting that COVID-19 was another Democratic “impeachment scam.” You have to wonder why Fox hasn’t fired Sean Hannity and others on the network who have said the same things.

However, what may have clinched this appointment for McEnany was an interview last August on CNN. Chris Cuomo asked McEnany if she believed that “Trump has never lied to the American people?” To which McEnany replied “No, the President hasn’t lied. I think CNN has lied to the American people.” McEnany went on to robotically repeat that “the fake news media lies.” It was a performance that was clearly inspired by the rabid ravings of her boss. Watch and wretch:

Trump-Fluffers at Fox News Make Excuses for His Hijacking the Coronavirus Briefings

Throughout his presidency, Donald Trump has exhibited an unprecedented hostility toward the media and the very concept of a free press as enshrined in the Constitution. He repeatedly refers to it in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” Trump is currently suing several news organizations and has recently threatened to revoke the broadcast licenses of stations that air ads critical of him. And in his flaming paranoia, he is convinced that the media is a collective entity that is unified in a covert mission to destroy him. “All I see,” whines Trump about every major news network (including Fox News), “is hatred of me.”

Donald Trump, Fox News, White House

Trump’s press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, has never held a press briefing since her appointment in July of 2019. However, she makes frequent appearances on Fox News, but no other network. Trump has been deservedly criticized for his shuttering of the White House from scrutiny by the press. But he believes that his rambling Chopper Talks suffice as an alternative to an orderly exchange of information and timely disclosures regarding White House activities. They are not. They are simply opportunities for Trump to rant incoherently and to berate his perceived foes in the press corps.

With the advent of an international pandemic, Trump is producing a daily, self-serving, reality show in which he is cast as the star attraction. It is a blatantly obvious attempt to exploit the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis for his own political benefit. These are nothing more than replacement vehicles for the cult rallies and campaign affairs that can no longer be held due to the risk of exacerbating the pandemic.

Not surprisingly, the press has been critical of this crass exploitation and many journalists are advocating that they not be covered, at least until after Trump’s remarks have been fact-checked and other extraneous campaign content is edited out. This has now caused Fox News to claim that there is some hypocrisy on the part of the press for first complaining about the administration’s abandonment of daily briefings, and now complaining that they are taking place. An op-ed on Fox’s website misconstrues that:

“The mainstream media were clamoring for regular press briefings from President Trump and his administration long before the coronavirus crisis escalated. Former press secretary Sarah Sanders stopped the daily routine in early 2019 and they eventually came to a halt altogether — much to the chagrin of many media members.

“But after Trump and his coronavirus team, including Vice President Mike Pence, Dr. Anthony Fauci, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams and Dr. Deborah Birx, began providing them on a daily basis in late February, some media figures said their networks should stop airing them, leading critics to question the sudden about-face.”

What Fox News is missing is that the press was never “clamoring” for staged events where Trump would lambaste the media, brag shamelessly about things he hadn’t done, and lie his asinine head off for two hours. They merely wanted his press secretary to do her job and be accountable to the public that the press represents.

What Trump is giving them instead is an interminable bitchfest that is intended solely to advance his reelection prospects and feed his voracious ego. This is particularly offensive considering the briefings that Trump is hijacking for his own purposes is supposed to be dedicated to informing the public about a deadly and growing pandemic.

If Trump had any real concern for the nation he would leave these Coronavirus Task Force briefings to the experts and stop wasting time with his lies and petulant attacks on reporters. Then he would reinstate the daily White House press briefings with the press secretary. It’s questionable that even under those circumstances we would get much useful or honest information considering how integral lying is to this administration. But at least we would avoid the endless tantrums and dangerous disinformation that Trump is disseminating with things as they are.

Trump’s Press ‘Slackretary’ Runs to Fox News to Slander Democrats as Terrorist Supporters

Stephanie Grisham was appointed as Donald Trump’s third press secretary in as many years on July 1, 2019. In those six months she has not held a single press briefing. However, the slacker press shill has appeared repeatedly on Fox News and a couple of other Trump-fluffing media outlets like Sinclair. So Grisham is pocketing $179,000 a year to disseminate propaganda on shamelessly biased TV networks.

Stephanie Grisham, Fox News

On Monday morning Grisham made another stop at Fox News to polish the lies of her boss. The entire segment was typically repugnant and riddled with lies (video below), but this time she managed to advance some of the most nauseating attacks on the vast majority of Americans, and specifically those who are members of the nation’s largest political party, the Democrats. Grisham responded to a question from Fox’s Harris Faulkner about Trump’s retweeting of a blatantly bigoted meme that was intended to portray House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer as terrorist enemies of the state:

Faulkner: Why would the President even take the time to retweet something like this?
Grisham: I think the president is making clear that Democrats are parroting Iranian talking points and almost taking the side of terrorists and those who were out to kill Americans. I think the President was making the point that the Democrats seem to hate him so much that they’re willing to be on the side of countries, and leadership of countries, that want to kill Americans.

This is the sort of toxic rhetoric that has become the hallmark of Trump’s debasing of the presidency. If challenged, Grisham would not be able to cite a single instance of any Democrat, much less Pelosi and Schumer, “parroting Iranian talking points” or being “on the side of countries…that want to kill Americans.” But Grisham was not challenged by Faulkner. Her despicable words were in line with the mission of Fox News to exalt Trump and disparage his critics.

Grisham has not been alone in hurling these sort of grotesque obscenities. Many other Republican cretins have gone down this same path of division and hatred. And naturally, Trump is the leader of this parade of the pathetically putrid. He retweeted five other expressions of a similarly vile nature, asserting that Democrats were supporters of terrorists. That’s a bizarre accusation coming from Trump, and not just because it’s so grossly untrue. But Trump is the one who has cuddled up to murderous tyrants like Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Mohammed bin Salman, and he famously fell in love with Kim Jong Um. And not to be outdone by the Twitter brigades he retweeted, Trump composed his own tweet that accused Democrats of having an affinity for Iranian General Qasem Soleimani:

This march toward an ever more loathsome and hateful brand of politics has been in the making since Trump announced his candidacy. He believes that behaving like a severely disturbed child who’s been possessed by demons is an appropriate way to conduct government business. It’s why he continually maligns anyone who isn’t sufficiently worshipful. And, as is evident in his press secretary and his sycophants in Congress and the press, his sociopathy has infected all those around him. It’s a downward spiral that is observable in all those who still seek his favor by emulating the disgusting lack of morality that is his trademark.

Fox News Host and Trump-Fluffer Wants the U.S. to Be More Like the Terrorists

The White House narrative on Iran is falling apart. Donald Trump claims that he ordered the assassination of Qasem Soleimani due to intelligence that indicated he represented an “imminent threat” to the U.S. But reports from the Pentagon do not confirm the charge and officials say that any evidence is “razor thin.”

Donald Trump

Meanwhile, when asked to substantiate the allegation, Trump’s press Secretary, Stephanie Grisham, said that she couldn’t. She merely repeated the baseless speculation that American lives were saved. She also complained that people wouldn’t simply trust Trump and take his word about the whole affair. That, of course, is the wholly warranted result of his having lied non-stop throughout his presidency. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also failed when asked to provide confirmation that Iran was plotting attacks on the U.S. In fact, he resorted to a completely different “justification” that relied solely on past events.

Now the propagandists of Trump World are trying to spin his threat to destroy cultural sites as appropriate and lawful military targeting. Never mind that it is an explicit violation of both U.S. and international law. On Fox News Tuesday morning, Pete Hegseth of Fox and Friends sought to demonize rational Trump critics as treasonous saying that “I think with friends like these Democrats, who needs the Iranians” (video below). He went on to complain that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is “out of her mind” for tweeting correctly that Trump had proposed committing war crimes. And then he unleashed this grotesque commentary:

“I don’t care about Iranian cultural sites, and I’ll tell you why. If they could, if Iran could, if you understand the Islamic Republic of Iran, of Islamists, if the could, if they had the power, they would destroy every single one of our cultural sites and build a mosque on top of it.”

This is a bizarre argument even if you ignore his stuttering introduction. Hegseth is saying that it’s acceptable to behave like terrorists because terrorists behave that way. He is, in effect, advocating that the U.S. adopt the tactics of terrorists. What’s next? Would Hegseth approve of Americans beheading prisoners of war? Would he favor sending suicide bombers into the lobbies of hotels where Muslims were guests? Would he support flying planes into skyscrapers in Tehran? After all, the terrorists do that, so why shouldn’t we?

The question is, did that disgusting illogic come from Trump, or did Hegseth plant it in Trump’s befuddled head? Because the President said pretty much the same thing on Monday:

“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people. And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesn’t work that way.”

This is representative of Trump’s total absence of morality. He and his cult followers believe that they can commit any crime they like with impunity. And they will also tell any lie to support their atrocities. For instance, Trump’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said on Monday that Democrats were “mourning the loss” of Soleimani. She was challenged repeatedly to provide a single example of that reckless and hateful assertion, but went into hiding rather than respond.

This tendency to endorse such repugnant acts shows how far Trump and his regime have diverged from any semblance of civil society. It marks them as aspiring terrorists themselves because, if they approve of these tactics, what separates them from the heathens they pretend to oppose? They believe that any act, no matter how heinous, is justified if your enemy would do it. But the American people, whose principles are in tact, would surely disagree and admonish Trump that “It doesn’t work that way.”
