Nearly 70% are More Worried About a President Who is a Liar than One Who is Old – Trump is Both

A new NPR/Marist National Poll was released two weeks after the Biden/Trump debate that has triggered so much pundit anxiety and politico consternation. The headline finding was that, despite what was widely panned in the press as disastrous for President Biden, he is now leading Donald Trump 50-48 percent.

That’s a remarkably favorable result under the circumstances. And it is an embarrassing repudiation to the doomsayers who have written off the President’s chances of prevailing in November. Many of those pessimists have been Democrats and media that have generally been more balanced and focused on real world analysis.

However, the topline numbers in the poll were not the only good news for Biden and portent of peril for Trump. Notably, the survey found that…

“Americans are overwhelmingly more concerned about a president who plays fast and loose with the facts than someone who is too old to serve. Nearly seven in ten Americans (68%) think it is more concerning if a president does not tell the truth. Nearly one in three (32%) think it is more concerning if someone is too old to serve.”

This finding weighs heavily on Trump, the candidate who is known as both a pathological liar, and an elderly sufferer of severe cognitive disability. As for Biden, well, he’s just old. But Trump’s derangement manifests in utterly bizarre tirades that are completely detached from reality. Such as his oratories on the threats of sharks and batteries, windmill cancer, nuking hurricanes, George Washington’s Army taking over airports, and injecting bleach to cure COVID. And then are these comparatively minor, albeit frequent, verbal gaffes…

The poll also found that 64% of respondents “do not think Biden has the mental fitness to serve as president.” Which is not particularly good, but not unexpected considering the constant media harping on the issue. Conversely, the poll also found that 49% have the same concerns about Trump’s mental unfitness. And that’s without the same amount of media bias influencing those opinions. It’s just Trump craziness shining through.

What’s more, the poll showed that a majority (52%) of Americans believe that “Biden has the character to serve as president.” By contrast, an even bigger “majority of Americans (56%), including 18% of Republicans and 58% of independents, do not think Trump has the character to be President of the United States.”

These numbers paint a picture of a race that Biden should be leading by wide margins. Unfortunately, in today’s media environment, other factors come into play that warp the both the polling and the potential electoral outcome. Which means that Democrats cannot become complacent in the weeks and months ahead. They must remain motivated and energized in order to fend off the threat that Trump and his MAGA cult pose to democracy.

It also means that they must be flexible and able to quickly pivot if circumstances change. Although Biden is adamant that he will be the nominee to the end – and he surely has the ability to win – the odds of his stepping aside are greater than zero. Were that to happen, the same poll shows that every candidate tested (Kamala Harris, Gretchen Whitmer, and Gavin Newsom) did at least as well against Trump as Biden did.

So it’s safe to harbor some optimism as we face an unprecedented future this election year. And we must never let the nation forget the real choice before it…

President Biden: an honest, intelligent, and compassionate leader who reveres the Constitution.

Or Donald Trump: with 34 felony convictions, judgments against him for financial fraud, defamation and rape, and pending indictments that include inciting a violent coup and stealing classified documents, and conspiring to overturn an election, who seeks to impose an autocratic dictatorship.

That shouldn’t be a difficult choice.

WTF? According to the New York Times ‘Biden Should Leave the Race’ AND ‘Trump is Unfit to Lead’

One thing that is disturbingly clear at this critical time in America’s story is that the media is not serving the interests of the American people. In the midst of a presidential election that could determine whether the future of the nation will see its democracy preserved, or descends into a populist autocracy, the press is fixated on the horserace to the detriment of the human race.

Donald Trump calls for a "Unified Reich"

As the election cycle unfolds, the arguments for and against the candidates seems to be an afterthought to the press. Their obsession with President Biden’s age has consumed the attention span of the reporters covering the campaign. Meanwhile, they are downplaying the existential threat that Donald Trump poses to the principles enshrined in the Constitution and even to national security.

As an example of the ideological instability that is infecting the media, the New York Times just published an article by their Editorial Board that declares that “Donald Trump is unfit to lead.” The problem is that this article follows by a mere two weeks one by the same Board that asserted that “To serve his country, President Biden should leave the race.” So which is it? Or does the Times think that both candidates should drop out? And if one or the other doesn’t, then what?

What follows are a couple excerpts from each article…

June 28, To serve his country, President Biden should leave the race:
“President Biden has repeatedly and rightfully described the stakes in this November’s presidential election as nothing less than the future of American democracy.

Donald Trump has proved himself to be a significant jeopardy to that democracy — an erratic and self-interested figure unworthy of the public trust. He systematically attempted to undermine the integrity of elections. His supporters have described, publicly, a 2025 agenda that would give him the power to carry out the most extreme of his promises and threats. If he is returned to office, he has vowed to be a different kind of president, unrestrained by the checks on power built into the American political system.” […]

“Mr. Biden has been an admirable president. Under his leadership, the nation has prospered and begun to address a range of long-term challenges, and the wounds ripped open by Mr. Trump have begun to heal. But the greatest public service Mr. Biden can now perform is to announce that he will not continue to run for re-election.” […]

“If the race comes down to a choice between Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden, the sitting president would be this board’s unequivocal pick. That is how much of a danger Mr. Trump poses.”

July 11, Donald Trump is unfit to lead
“Next week, for the third time in eight years, Donald Trump will be nominated as the Republican Party’s candidate for president of the United States. A once great political party now serves the interests of one man, a man as demonstrably unsuited for the office of president as any to run in the long history of the Republic, a man whose values, temperament, ideas and language are directly opposed to so much of what has made this country great.” […]

“Mr. Trump has shown a character unworthy of the responsibilities of the presidency. He has demonstrated an utter lack of respect for the Constitution, the rule of law and the American people. Instead of a cogent vision for the country’s future, Mr. Trump is animated by a thirst for political power: to use the levers of government to advance his interests, satisfy his impulses and exact retribution against those who he thinks have wronged him.”

A fair reading of these articles would lead the reader to the conclusion that the Board regards Trump as a threat to democracy and the welfare of the nation and the world. But why did the Times choose to publish both articles, giving equal weight to the argument that Biden, while preferable, is just as unfit to occupy the office of the president? It’s a serious disservice to the readers and the nation to provide justifications to withhold support from Biden, who the Times believes would save democracy.

The Times could have published just the article criticizing Trump and included their reservations about Biden in a couple of paragraphs near the end. That would have been a better representation of their opinions, without giving ammunition to Trump supporters. After all, the Times is essentially saying that Biden’s faults are mainly political viability, while Trump’s would lead to actual catastrophe.

Furthermore, the Times could have gone into more detail about why Trump is unacceptable as a candidate. They didn’t mention Trump’s 34 felony convictions related to covering up hush money payments to a porn star; his civil liability for defamation and rape; his $354 million judgment for financial fraud; his theft of hundreds of classified documents about which he lied to the FBI; or his inciting a violent insurrection.

These are not times to be timid or to cling to false notions of balance. It’s okay to speculate about whether Biden presents the best opportunity to defeat Trump. It is not okay to place Biden’s comparatively minor deficiencies on the same level as Trump’s sociopathy that ranges from incompetent to traitorous. And the Times knows better. Or at least they used to.

U.S. Intelligence Warns that Russia is Actively Undermining Biden to Boost Putin’s Puppet Trump

It’s as if he had eaten an apple from the Tree of Knowledge and is now facing efforts to cast him out of Eden. When will they ask about Donald Trump eating the Big Mac of Madness and his eviction from Realityland?

The non-stop inquisition of Biden, and any stray Democrat that the press encounters, has become a compulsive disorder that the press can’t seem to exercise any self-control over. Meanwhile, there is nothing remotely equivalent being done to Trump, who is suffering from mental maladies that threaten far worse consequences for the nation and the world should he reoccupy the White House.

Compounding the risks posed by a Trump reprise is a new report that U.S. Intelligence agencies have identified Russian operations aimed at influencing American elections and, specifically, backing Trump’s bid to assume the throne to which he believes he is entitled. As reported by NBC News…

“Russia’s efforts to influence this year’s U.S. election through information warfare have the same aim as in previous elections — to undermine President Joe Biden’s campaign and the Democratic Party and weaken public confidence in the electoral process, intelligence officials said Tuesday.

“Russia’s election influence operations, which include covert social media accounts and encrypted direct messaging channels, are targeting key voter groups in swing states to exploit political divisions in the U.S. and erode support for Ukraine in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion, officials with the Office of the Director National Intelligence, or ODNI, told reporters.” […]

“Former U.S. intelligence officials and regional analysts say the Kremlin has long viewed Trump as more sympathetic to Russia, citing his frequently expressed skepticism toward the NATO alliance, his reluctance to criticize Putin and his critical portrayal of Ukraine’s government.”

Sound familiar? It’s precisely what Russia tried to do in 2020, and did successfully in 2016. It’s what Trump has referred to in his psychotic rants as the “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax.” However, it was never a hoax, and Trump knows it. He has even explicitly sought Russia’s help to hack Hillary Clinton’s email, and to spread disinformation throughout the country.

Trump’s affinity for Putin is well documented. He calls him a friend and a “genius” and has excused his crimes against humanity, saying that the United States does the same things. Trump will never criticize Putin for anything. But he constantly maligns America in the most abhorrent terms (e.g. corrupt, crime-ridden, weak, failing, etc.).

An example of that occurred Wednesday morning during an interview with Fox News wherein Trump was asked a question about Putin’s missiles targeting a children’s hospital in Ukraine. Trump replied by ignoring Putin’s atrocity and, instead, attacking Biden. Because America is always wrong and Putin is always right, in Trump’s twisted mind.

So it’s extraordinarily disturbing that the media is so fixated on whether Biden should remain in the race. Yet they never ask that question of Trump. If the debate were rationally formed it would be a contest between the elderly statesman Biden, or the elderly, convicted felon, Putin loving, wannabe dictator Trump. Under those conditions, which one ought to be driven from the race? It’s not a difficult choice.

Trump Issues An Impotent Threat of Mass Incarceration of Imaginary Migrant ‘Election Fraudsters’

The authoritarian compulsions of convicted felon Donald Trump have exhibited themselves in his frequent and public declarations of overt intentions to seek “retribution” against his perceived enemies, including all Democrats, insufficiently worshipful Republicans, independent judges, domestic and foreign diplomats, disloyal business leaders, and, of course, the media that he refers to in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.”

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

Trump’s obsession with getting revenge on those he believes have wronged him has been the single most motivating factor in his campaign to reoccupy the White House, with the possible exception of his fear of being sent to prison himself for his multitude of crimes. His response to that fear is to threaten his foes with prosecution, including charges of treason that carry the death penalty.

On Tuesday Trump extended his threats to a group of people that he has long detested: Immigrants. On his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted a comment in support of a new Republican bill aimed at making it illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote in federal elections. Which is a blatantly transparent political stunt because, of course, that is already illegal. Trump wrote that…

“Republicans must pass the Save Act, or go home and cry yourself to sleep. Non citizen Illegal Migrants are getting the right to vote […] Our whole voting system is under siege.”

To no one’s surprise, Trump is lying. There aren’t any “Non citizen Illegal Migrants [who] are getting the right to vote.” And his baseless assertion that the “whole voting system is under siege,” is utterly delusional. If that were true, why didn’t Trump do anything about it in the four years that he was pretending to be president? Where is his evidence that it is happening now? But despite his complete departure from reality, Trump went on to issue a foreboding threat…

“If I’m elected President, we will pursue Election Fraudsters at levels never seen before, and they will be sent to prison for long periods of time. We already know who you are. DON’T DO IT! ZUCKERBUCKS, be careful!”

So Trump is specifically threatening to arrest and imprison Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, along with hundreds (thousands?) of others whose names he allegedly already knows, but whom he has declined to report to the authorities. Are you one of them?

This threat is consistent with Trump’s often hyperbolic proclamations that immigrants are running rampant throughout the nation, committing crimes with the approval of the Biden administration. He has promised to deport some 15 million people whose immigration status he can’t even certify. That would undoubtedly lead to untold numbers of American citizens being shipped off to foreign lands that they never knew.

Trump has never explained how his deportation scheme would be carried out. But for the record, it would take some 75,000 flights to transport 15 million people to other countries around the world. That would cost at least $7.5 billion. And that isn’t counting the billions it would take for law enforcement to round them up, or to build and staff the internment camps where they would have to be housed until their status and country of origin were established.

Trump is also advancing the virulently racist “White Replacement Theory” that posits that Democrats are trying to import foreigners in order to shift the balance of the electorate. Never mind that it would take many years for any immigrant, much less an undocumented one, to be granted legal status and eventually citizenship.

Trump is engaging in another impotent threat that is based on solely on his seething hatred and perverse perspective of the world. He couldn’t carry it out even if he were reelected. And reality has shown us that nearly every legitimate case of election fraud in the past several years was the work of Republicans. But Trump has never been one to allow facts to interfere with his fetid fantasies.

BIDEN: Trump is Riding Around in His Golf Cart at Mar-a-Lago Talking to His Wealthy Friends

Nearly two weeks ago, President Biden debated Donald Trump on CNN and unfortunately fell short of offering an accounting of himself that could have buried the convicted felon and adjudicated rapist before a national audience of millions. It was a missed opportunity to pull ahead of Trump and coast to victory in November.

For the two weeks that have transpired since, the media has been doing a great disservice to the nation by obsessing over President Biden’s age, while ignoring his successes with the economy and foreign policy, as well as Trump’s pathological lies and incoherence bordering on insanity. And it’s not as if Trump’s debate performance was anything but an embarrassing excretion of flagrant falsehoods and infantile insults.

Furthermore, Biden has spent the past two weeks doing rallies and interviews – 18 so far – in order to demonstrate his vigor and competence as a proven leader. And where has Trump been? Well, let’s let Biden tell us what he told Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning…

“Trump’s just a liar. And he hasn’t done a damn thing since the debate. He’s been riding around in his golf cart for 10 days down in Mar-a-Lago talking to his wealthy friends.”

Exactly!. Trump’s avoidance of the press and the public is typical of his cowardly campaign strategy throughout this election cycle. The only public appearances he makes are before rapidly shrinking crowds of his glassy-eyed cult disciples. And the only interviews he grants are with certified Trump-fluffers on devoted propaganda outlets. And even those are having a hard time living down to his demands for total capitulation to unflinching adoration.

Biden also told Joe Scarborough that he is adamant about his decision to stay in the race and beat Trump – again. The decision voters have to make now is historically unique. It isn’t just one candidate or the other. It’s a decent leader with integrity, or a criminal, wannabe dictator that half the country thinks should be in prison. Biden reiterated some of his reasons for running, saying that…

“I’m running because I never bought into the trickle-down economics theory. I never bought into the notion that we have to walk away from the rest of the world and cave to Putin or anybody else.” [and that] “I’m confidant that’s where the American people are…I don’t care what the millionaires think.”

Trump meanwhile, continues to boldly run away from his own positions and platforms, such as “Project 2025,” a handbook for fascism, that was authored by many of his closest associates. He likewise continues to spew utterly bizarre tales that bare no resemblance to reality (e.g. fantasy death by batteries or sharks, all Democrats favoring overturning of Roe v Wade, Biden orchestrating his 34 felony convictions, etc.).

Biden’s post-debate appearances have shown him to be alert and engaged and compassionate about advancing the interests of the American people. Trump, however, has burrowed himself into his Mar-a-Lago bunker among the wealthy guests who worship him. But his conspicuous absence from the campaign trail raises questions about his own fitness for office. Will the press interrupt their marathon Biden-bashing to explore any of those questions? To be determined…

Fox News Hack Posts Blatantly Racist Op-Ed Attacking Kamala Harris in Murdoch’s New York Post

And naturally they focus solely on criticism of Biden for being old, while ignoring Donald Trump for being a convicted felon, financial fraudster, aspiring authoritarian, and adjudicated rapist.

The press seems to have a single-minded mission to drive Biden out of the presidential race because he struggled to express himself effectively at the debate. Never mind that, while Trump didn’t have any problem speaking, he had a huge problem telling the truth. And to the press, being a pathological liar isn’t a disqualifying characteristic for someone seeking to become leader of the free world, a position that Trump has already failed horribly at. So the press clutches desperately to their narrative that it’s Biden who needs to step aside. Ironically, not even Trump thinks that…

Adding to the muck, is the notorious muckraking rag, the New York Post. This Rupert Murdoch propaganda spewer published a story by Fox News correspondent, Charlie Gasparino, with the blatantly racist headline, “America may soon be subjected to the country’s first DEI president: Kamala Harris.” It hardly requires reading the article to get the gist of what it is saying. The right-wingers of America have been furiously trying to redefine the acronym “DEI” (diversity, equity, and inclusion) to mean “incompetent minorities and women trying to steal jobs from White men.” The article opened saying that…

“There is a raging debate in corporate America on the future of DEI, aka Diversity ­Equity and Inclusion, because it is literally destroying businesses that go there. And yet the American public may soon be subjected to DEI writ large in the next president of the United States, if Kamala Harris finds her way to the top of the Democratic ticket.”

To be clear, the article is attacking Harris as undeserving of her position as Vice-President, or any position she might have subsequent to that. They are dismissing the fact that she is the former Attorney General of California and a United States Senator. Apparently they don’t regard those as qualification for high office. But they do appreciate wealthy White men who have bankrupted multiple business and bragged about committing sexual assault.

The article also insults Harris personally as “the most irrepressibly fatuous politician in America” and “manifest ­unlikability.” It then goes on to complain about the fact that she has dared to laugh – or in their words, cackle – in public…

The article doesn’t leave out the author’s deep-seated hatred for President Biden either. He adopts Trump’s infantile nickname of “Sleepy Joe,” and offers some preposterous lies about Biden’s policies. For instance, he says that Biden “literally invites terrorists to enter the country and kill people.” Literally? This author clearly doesn’t know what the word means. But he couldn’t come up with any figurative examples of his ridiculous claim either.

The article’s case against DEI is profoundly ludicrous and steeped in hypocrisy. Someone needs to tell them about the Fox News Corporate Responsibility Report that boasts that the company is “committed to diversity from the very top [and that] An inclusive and diverse workplace is not merely a strategy or business objective—it is fundamentally woven in the fabric of the Company.” It goes on to elaborate more specifically that…

“Our Preventing Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation Policy protects individuals on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, family status, caregiver status, sex (including pregnancy status, childbirth, breastfeeding, and related medical conditions), gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, sexual and reproductive health decisions, reproductive health decision-making, hair texture or hairstyles, military or veteran status, political affiliation, arrest or conviction record, union membership, unemployment status, credit history, status as a victim of domestic violence, stalking or sexual offenses, or any other legally protected characteristic.”

So Fox News, to the surprise of no one who has watched it with clear eyes, is hysterically hypocritical. What’s more, they spend much of their airtime vilifying a policy that is “fundamentally woven in the fabric of the Company.” And yet, they still dredge up their inbred prejudices to purposefully ignore and/or misinterpret DEI in order to use it against the first Black woman to serve as Vice-President. But then, would anyone expect anything else from Rupert Murdoch and his Klan Empire?

Felonious Trump Begs President Biden to Stay in the Race in a Sarcastic Rant Filled with Lies

In the week following the Biden/Trump debate on CNN, politicians, pundits and the press demanded that President Biden take measures to restore confidence in his ability to lead the nation. So Biden did several well received public appearances, and a highly anticipated interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News, wherein he comported himself respectably. And that satisfied the howling monkeys who were clamoring for Biden to drop out of the race. Right?

Not exactly. To the contrary, much of the post-interview punditry seems to have a coordinated response that shifted the goalposts from “Biden needs to do an unscripted interview” to “Biden needs to do ten unscripted interviews.” And after the tenth interview he will need to beat Novak Djokovic at tennis and Garry Kasparov at chess. In the meantime, Donald Trump merely needs to refrain from eating paste while being let off the hook for disgorging a record number of lies.

He posted an appeal for Biden to “ignore his many critics and move forward” on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, ranting that…

He should be sharp, precise, and energetic, just like he was in The Debate, in selling his policies of Open Borders (where millions of people, including record numbers of Terrorists, are allowed to enter our Country, from prisons and mental institutions, totally unchecked and unvetted!), to Ending Social Security, Men playing in Women’s sports, High Taxes, High Interest Rates, encouraging a Woke Military, Uncontrollable Inflation, Record Setting Crime, Only Electric Vehicles, Subservience to China and other Countries, Endless Wars, putting America Last, losing our Dollar Based Standard, and so much more. Yes, Sleepy Joe should continue his campaign of American Destruction and, MAKE CHINA GREAT AGAIN!”

Setting aside Trump’s disingenuous praise of Biden’s “alacrity and strength,” what stands out in this harangue is that everything – EVERYTHING – Trump cited as a Biden policy is a flagrant lie. Biden does not support open borders. There are not record numbers of terrorists entering the country. And there is no evidence of migrants being released from prisons or mental institutions.

Furthermore, It is Trump, not Biden, who has advocated policies that would devastate Social Security and Medicare. It is Trump who proposes more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy, to the detriment of lower and middle-class citizens. Sixteen Nobel Laureates found that Trump’s economic plan would increase inflation and interest rates. Crime rose substantially during Trump’s term, and has declined during Biden’s. And his opposition to electric vehicles would harm both the environment and the U.S. economy.

Perhaps most striking part of Trump’s litany of lies was his warning that Biden would “MAKE CHINA GREAT AGAIN!” All of the evidence of Biden’s first term proves that he is advancing the interests of American companies and workers. He is brining back manufacturing jobs from China with the CHIPS Act and other science and environmental industries. But what’s especially ludicrous about Trump’s allegation is that he has literally promised to make not only China, but Russia and North Korea, great again…

That’s what the Trump cult is voting for. And it’s why everyone else needs to be more resolute than ever to defeat Trump and save America.

Trump Denies Knowing Anything About the ‘Abysmal’ Project 2025 that He Definitely Knows About

The agenda that Donald Trump has contrived for his 2024 presidential campaign is rife with some of the most unpopular proposals ever compiled by a candidate. He is opposed to reproductive health access, gun safety reforms, tax fairness for corporations and the wealthy, LGBTQ+ equality, climate change mitigation, voting rights, and even the concept of democracy.

Trump’s agenda embraces the most extreme right-wing policies on virtually every major issue of importance to the majority of American voters. And yet, his glassy-eyed cult disciples continue to cling to his every word. They are not even dissuaded by his 34 felony convictions, his multi-million dollar judgments for financial fraud and sexual abuse, or his affinity for foreign dictators. To them he is always the purest model of humanity and a perennial victim.

On Friday morning Trump posted a comment to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, that was a cringeworthy combination of flagrant dishonesty and cognitive confusion. It showcased his ability to lie and be incoherent at the same time. Trump wrote that…

“I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”

For those who haven’t been paying attention, Project 2025 is an extremist Republican platform that adopts the MAGA policy agenda including advocating for an authoritarian White House that would control executive branch agencies including the Justice Department, eliminate Cabinet offices including Education and Environment, implement severe immigration initiatives, such as building internment camps and mass deportation, terminate civil service staffers and replace them with MAGA loyalists, push voter suppression measures, repeal healthcare legislation, deregulate corporations, impose media censorship, and more.

In other words, Project 2025 is a more detailed and articulate presentation of the broadly abhorred Trump agenda. So naturally, Trump is distancing himself from it. And just as naturally, his attempt to walk away is illustrative of his notorious inability to construct a logical thought.

Let’s begin with the fact that Trump is lying about not knowing about Project 2025 or who is behind it. Trump has a long association with the ultra-rightist Heritage Foundation that is the author of the plan. More directly, many of Trump’s closest associates, including former members of his Cabinet, are principal contributors to the project. For instance, Russell Vought, Stephan Moore, Peter Navarro, Ben Carson, and Ken Cucinelli.

Where Trump’s mental acuity is askew is in his insistence that “I disagree with some of the things they’re saying,” even though he also says that “I know nothing about Project 2025.” So what exactly is he disagreeing with?

What’s more, although he claims to know nothing about it, Trump still says that “some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.” How does he know that if he knows nothing about it? It is also evidence of derangement that he claims to find the project “abysmal” and yet “Anything they do, I wish them luck.” Because who doesn’t wish luck for projects that they vehemently do not support?

Trump may have been spooked by recent remarks by the Heritage Foundation’s president Kevin Roberts, who said that “we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” Which is an overt threat that the left had better acquiesce to his demands or there will be bloodshed.

On the surface it seems reasonable for Trump to want to avoid any association with that violent sentiment. However, in reality it is just an expression of what Trump himself has already said. For instance…

“To anyone out there who is considering doing anything before I become president again, don’t even try it.”

If, at this point, you don’t believe that Trump means what he says, note that he has also said that if he does not get elected, “it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it.” On this subject it may be one of the few times that you can take Trump at his word.

Toxic Trump’s Hateful 4th of July Message is – as Usual – All About Trump and Attacking His Foes

America’s annual observance of its independence is a day that is traditionally filled with gratitude and pride among friends and family. To be sure, there will be plenty of that. There will be food and festivities and fireworks in the nation’s homes, parks, and public squares. And hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves and appreciate their great good fortune.

However, behind the celebratory surface, the nation is slogging through the muck of a presidential campaign that is tainted by the noxious presence of a convicted felon who despises much of what the country stands for. Donald Trump is not shy about disparaging the country that is, in his twisted view, a “failed nation” that is mired in corruption and led by “radicals” and “thugs” who are all determined to destroy the country, and more specifically, him.

On this Fourth of July, Trump posted another one of his heartwarming messages in tribute to the nation he finds so deplorable on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. It was a long, incoherent mess of hostility and narcissistic maliciousness. And true to form, Trump turned the holiday into an homage to himself and his own petty grievances. It’s too long and repulsive to post in full. But a few excerpts are sufficient to give the tone of his repugnant regards…

“Happy Fourth of July to all, including to our highly incapable ‘President,’ who uses Prosecutors to go after his Political Opponent.”

Of course, despite his incessant whining, President Biden had nothing to do with with Trump’s prosecutions. And he was found guilty unanimously of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers. As for his capability, Biden’s administration is the most productive in more than 50 years. But Trump wasn’t through kvetching…

“Also, respects to our potentially new Democrat Challenger, Laffin’ Kamala Harris.”

Trump loves to make up infantile nicknames for his enemies. That’s because his emotional maturity stalled at about seven years. It’s telling that the best he could do for Vice-President Harris is a name that notes her jovial nature. Which is something that he must envy considering his rancid personality. It’s also something that the Trump cult has latched onto…

And what Trump rant would be complete without a swipe at special counsel Jack Smith?

“Someone else that I have to compliment is a Deranged Biden Prosecutor named Jack Smith, who has become a Legend in his own mind.”

You have to wonder why Trump spends so much time and money trying to avoid Smith in court, by filing repeated motions to delay the trials. If he thinks that Smith is such a loser, why wouldn’t he be anxious to face him court and clear his name. Clearly Trump is afraid because he knows that he’s guilty and will be convicted of even more felonies.

Trump has once again demonstrated that he is more concerned about himself than his country. He can’t even celebrate Independence Day without turning it into a gripe session to assuage his vengeance-driven ego. It’s a psychosis that he has exhibited for years. And it’s only getting worse.

Total Insanity: Trump Says the Supreme Court’s Immunity Decision is a ‘Total Exoneration’

This week the MAGA members of the Supreme Court released their decision on whether or not a president is entitled to immunity for any crimes he or she may have committed. On the surface it seems like a trick question because because how could anyone rationally argue that a president should have license to break the law?

And yet, that is precisely what the conservative majority on this Court has said. It is a brazen handout to their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, in order to provide him the absolution of autocrats to ignore any laws that they find inconvenient. And with regard to Trump, that’s a shitload of laws. The degree to which this ruling defiles American principles was spelled out by one of the dissenting justices…

As for Trump, his notorious inability to comprehend simple subjects was on display in a comment he posted to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. His celebration of the gift bestowed upon him by the unjust Justices demonstrated once again how pitifully ignorant and/or dishonest he is. He wrote that the ruling was…

“TOTAL EXONERATION! It is clear that the Supreme Court’s Brilliantly Written and Historic Decision ENDS all of Crooked Joe Biden’s Witch Hunts against me, including the WHITE HOUSE AND DOJ INSPIRED CIVIL HOAXES in New York. [and that] I was Totally and Completely Innocent from the beginning of this Giant and Highly Illegal Scam.”

What is “clear” is that Trump has no understanding whatsoever of the law or how to interpret a judicial ruling. There was nothing in the court’s decision that even approached a finding of “exoneration,” “total” or otherwise. Merriam-Webster defines exoneration as: “To clear from a charge of wrongdoing or from blame : declare innocent.”

However, the ruling does not confer innocence on the president/defendant. What it does is to declare that a he or she cannot be prosecuted for any acts that are deemed to have been “official,” a vague term that has no strict definition in the law.

So the decision merely shields a president who breaks the law from prosecution under certain circumstances. It does not declare that he or she is innocent. In fact, that president can admit to being guilty and still suffer no legal consequences. Which Trump has actually done…

Consequently, Trump’s assertion that the ruling “ENDS all of Crooked Joe Biden’s Witch Hunts against me” is manifestly false. All of Trump’s pending indictments (none of which were instigated by President Biden) remain in effect, although some modifications might be necessary to weed out any tangential matters that might be construed as “official.” The vast majority of the charges involve private acts related to his election campaign or his businesses. And even regarding the allegedly “official” acts, they may still be crimes for which he is guilty, even if this preposterous ruling prevents him from being prosecuted.

Trump’s exclamation of exoneration and innocence is typical of his refusal to accept responsibility for his criminality. In his toxically narcissistic mind he is a perfect being incapable of wrongdoing. And, sadly, his cult followers feel the same way. Which emboldens him to commit more crimes that he will say he is innocent of. Yet somehow the media isn’t covering him as the dangerous and mentally deficient candidate.
