DISBAR THE KRAKEN: Trump Affiliated Lawyers Have Been Sanctioned For ‘Frivolous’ Filings

Ever since Donald Trump was decisively defeated in the 2020 presidential election by Joe Biden, he has been obsessed with propagating the “Big Lie” that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. It’s a dangerous and flagrant falsehood that undermines the people’s faith in American democracy and resulted in the deadly January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday there were finally some consequences for a few of Trump’s co-conspirators. Politico is reporting that several of the attorneys that worked on Trump’s behalf to disseminate lies about election fraud were dealt a legal blow:

“A federal judge on Wednesday imposed sanctions on Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and seven other pro-Trump lawyers in a strongly worded denouncement of what the court called a frivolous election fraud lawsuit.

“U.S. District Court Judge Linda Parker found that Powell and her colleagues involved in the case, which sought to make former President Donald Trump Michigan’s official 2020 presidential pick, ‘filed this lawsuit in bad faith and for improper purpose.'”

The judge went on to reprimand the lawyers for presenting “pleadings that were not ‘warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying, or reversing existing law or establishing new law.’” She said that they “contained factual contentions lacking evidentiary support.”

But that’s not all. The judge further noted that “the deficiencies in the pleadings [claim violations of election law} without a thorough understanding of what the law requires, and the number of failed election-challenge lawsuits that Plaintiffs’ attorneys have filed.”

The judge’s opinion concluded by recommending “that the bar associations for each respective attorney investigate them for potential suspension or disbarment, noting that their involvement in the litigation showed they were unfit to practice law.”

This is just the latest humiliating episode in the long-running melodrama of Trump’s legal tribulations. His personal attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty for his role on the payoff to Trump’s mistress, adult film star Stormy Daniels, and for lying to the Senate. Then Rudy Giuliani had his license suspended in both New York and Washington, D.C. Trump’s representatives lost more than sixty court cases due to failing to provide a shred of evidence supporting their election fraud allegations.

Now these clowns have been sanctioned and face possible disbarment. And yet, somehow Trump will go on whining about the “Crime of the Century” until his turn to be held accountable comes up. He is presently being investigated in New York, Washington, and Georgia, for criminal election tampering, intimidation, and abuse of power. And the rulings against this batch of his legal team will only serve to darken his future prospects for avoiding the consequences of his crimes.

SCAREDY FOX: Why Did Fox News Censor Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ Rant? Pending Lawsuits?

A startling event occurred on Sunday that may be unique in modern times. Donald Trump’s spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, posted a tweet that exposed a bona fide case of media censorship. But this assault on free speech was not the work of the usual suspects among the “fake news” purveyors. It wasn’t CNN or the New York Times that clipped Trump’s officious oratory.

Nope. Harrington caught the thought police at Fox News in the act of making unauthorized edits to Trump’s divine discourse during an interview with Fox News host Dan Bongino. Most of this segment was filled with the typical Trumpian adoration by the Fox host and hysterical incoherence by Trump. But Harrington noticed something terribly wrong when she went to post Trump’s sermon on Twitter (which is a flagrant violation of their terms of service. Feel free to report it). She tweeted her discovery saying…

“WOW. So I went to post a clip from President Trump’s great interview on @dbongino last night, and lo and behold, Fox News EDITED and CHANGED what President Trump said, censoring out 45 accurately describing the Fake Election.”

First of all, it’s “former” President Trump. Secondly, it was more of a love-fest than an interview. Thirdly, what was edited out was not accurate. That said, she was quite right that some editing took place. What was excised was Trump lying again about the 2020 presidential election being “stolen” from him. He said that…

“You have a Fake Election, you have an election with voter abuse and with voter fraud like nobody has ever seen before and based on that and based on what happened they are destroying our Country.”

So the question is why would Fox News cut out this 14 second portion of a 16 minute interview? It could hardly be due to time constraints.

There are, however, a couple of plausible reasons to expunge this particular commentary. Fox News is already the subject of two multibillion dollar lawsuits (one by Dominion Voting Systems, and another by Smartmatic) for defamation as result of the network’s dishonest assertions, on Trump’s behalf, that that the election was “rigged.”

So Fox News has a strong self-interest in avoiding exposing themselves to further legal liability by providing additional evidence that supports the case against them. That would be sufficient reason to cut Trump’s incessant whining about voter fraud for which he he has never been able to provide any proof in the 60-plus court cases he lost.

What’s more, by posting Trump’s lies, Fox News could be placing themselves at risk of being banned by Twitter – just like Trump – for posting false and potentially harmful misinformation. It is Trump’s lies about the election that incited the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th.

Fox News has already shown that they are worried about being associated with Trump’s “Big Lie.” Last month Fox refused to air an ad by the MyPillow conspiracy crackpot, Mike Lindell. The ad was to promote his “cyber symposium” that he said would “prove” that Trump won the election. Needless to say, the “proof” exists only in his diseased mind. However, Fox News wasn’t going to take the chance of getting further into legal jeopardy, so they nixed the ad. And in retaliation, Lindell pulled all of his ads from Fox News. And since MyPillow is Tucker Carlson’s biggest advertiser, that leaves his show with hardly any major ads at all.

It will be interesting to see how this censorship melodrama plays out. Currently Trump’s cult disciples are in a tizzy online, lambasting Fox News as the “enemy of the people,” and pledging to boycott the network forever. Harrington is appearing on whatever mousy Fox News wannabe that will book her to bad mouth Fox for caving in to the “Deep State.” And Trump is still stuck with with his thumb in his mouth, unable to get his malicious messaging out. Could this be any more fun? Stay tuned and have plenty of popcorn ready.

Trump Does a Great Job of Proving How Pitifully Stupid He and His Cult Followers Are

No one has ever described Donald Trump as any kind of a genius (except for Trump himself) After all, the guy who “loves the poorly educated” also believes that stealth fighters are actually invisible, that windmills cause cancer, that we should nuke hurricanes, that George Washington’s Army took over airports, and that injecting bleach will cure COVID.

Unfortunately, Trump clearly isn’t satisfied resting on his laurels of epic idiocy. His relentless and dangerous crusade to subvert democracy by promulgating the “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and/or “stolen” is producing an avalanche of new and more profoundly stupid examples of his mental infirmity.

On Saturday morning Trump’s spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, posted another of his alt-tweets (which is a flagrant violation of their terms of service and is linked here if you want to report it). In this episode of his sore loser lament Trump displayed a new low for his failing cognitive capacity. He whined that…

“Wisconsin has just canceled 205,000 voter registrations because they say they could not find the voters. Why did they wait until AFTER the election? Would this mean that we would have won Wisconsin? Congratulations!”

Is this for real, or an SNL sketch? Does Trump actually believe that these 205,000 canceled registrations could have led to his victory? Is it possible that he doesn’t know – and that no one in his camp has told him – that these are registrations for people who have not voted for at least four years? And if they haven’t voted, then they certainly didn’t vote for him or Biden or anyone else. And since they didn’t vote, it wouldn’t make any difference if the purge took place before or after the election. According to the Wisconsin Elections Commission…

“Deactivating voter registrations in Wisconsin is a routine practice, required by law every two years, as part of the state’s voter record maintenance. […] The effort identifies individuals who have not voted in the previous four years and deactivates their registrations unless they want to remain on voter rolls. A spokesperson for the commission told The Hill that none of the voters removed from rolls cast ballots in the 2020 presidential election.”

This is the level of foolishness and dishonesty that pervades every claim that Trump has made regarding the election. In another recent harangue, Trump claimed that “There is massive and unconditional evidence that the election was shattered with fraud and irregularities at a level that our Country has never seen before.” But in his tedious and lengthy tirade he didn’t bother to cite a single example.

What’s more, Trump apparently doesn’t believe his own fraud claims. We know this because when he tried to pressure the Justice Department to back him up, he didn’t ask them to find or disclose any evidence of fraud. He asked them to “just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen.”

As painfully stupid as Trump’s statements are about the election (and pretty much everything else), we cannot ignore the fact that his disciples will believe every word of his lunatic rants. That’s the nature of cult, wherein Dear Leader is always right and everyone else is lying to you. It’s a closed loop of blind devotion that fills the followers’ gaping psychological and emotional void, as well as the leader’s ego and bank account. And worst of all, it has the potential to lead more and greater violence. It already has done so.

JUDGE: Trump’s ‘Frivolous’ Lawsuit is ‘The Stuff of Which Violent Insurrections Are Made’

The nine month saga of Donald Trump’s crusade to overturn an election and subvert democracy is proceeding with more humiliating consequences for Trump and his accomplices. Trump is undeterred by recent embarrassments like the revelation that he admitted to pressuring the Department of Justice to “Just Say the Election Was Corrupt,” and his having claimed for himself the exclusive “right” to destroy America. The Former Guy just continues to suffer the disgrace of defeat in every legal battle he takes on.

The latest court smackdown for the Trump camp comes in the form of a sanction by a judge in Colorado. The judge lambasted Trump’s attorneys for bringing a case challenging the 2020 presidential election that was “frivolous,” “not warranted by existing law” and filed “in bad faith.” As reported by the Washington Post…

“In a scathing 68-page opinion, Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter found that the lawyers made little effort to corroborate information they had included in the suit, which argued there had been a vast national conspiracy to steal the election from former president Donald Trump. […]

“Calling the suit ‘one enormous conspiracy theory,’ Neureiter ordered that the duo must pay the legal fees of all the individuals and companies they had sued — 18 separate entities in all — as a way to deter future similar cases.”

The judge made a point of chastising the attorneys “for quoting Trump in their legal filing,” regarding a baseless claim that “voting machines manufactured by the company Dominion Voting Systems had ‘deleted 2.7 million Trump votes nationwide.'” Dominion has filed a billion dollar lawsuit against Fox News for making the same unfounded claim that this judge called “‘highly disputed and inflammatory.”

The bizarre lawsuit by Trump’s team was filed as a class action on behalf of 160 million American voters who have not agreed to be members of the class. However the most damning criticism from the judge came when he unambiguously linked the Trump lawsuit to the riots in Washington, D.C., on January 6th:

“Albeit disorganized and fantastical, the Complaint’s allegations are extraordinarily serious and, if accepted as true by large numbers of people, are the stuff of which violent insurrections are made.”

The judge’s recognition of the potential for future hostilities by a deranged faction of Trump cultists is a realistic observation of how Trump’s anti-democratic tirades could get even uglier going forward. And it’s significant that he’s sanctioning the attorneys for their misconduct.

There must be more of this sort of punishment for lawyers who purposefully abuse the judicial system. And there must be punishment for Trump as well, whose efforts to orchestrate a coup and crown himself America’s first dictator are anti-American and a clear and present danger to the nation.

Trump is Fired Up Over ‘Massive Evidence’ of Election Fraud that Doesn’t Actually Exist

The madness of Donald Trump has not subsided in the slightest amount since his humiliating loss to Joe Biden eight months ago. In fact, he has gotten perceivably worse. In recent days he has claimed for himself the exclusive “right” to destroy America. He has admitted to pressuring the Department of Justice to “Just Say the Election Was Corrupt.” He has doubled down on his deadly, sociopathic, pro-COVID agenda.

On Sunday afternoon Trump took another step off the ledge of sanity. In another of his public whine-fests tweeted by his spokes-shill, Liz Harrington (a flagrant violation of Twitter’s Terms of Service that prohibit circumventing a ban), Trump reiterated the “Big Lie” that he has been peddling to his dimwitted cult disciples for the past several months. His new claim combines his fantasy fiction about the 2020 election with his seething hatred for the free press. What follows is an annotated transcript of his lunacy marinated message (linked here for those who wish to report it).

“The New York Times, and others, always insert a clause into their stories, ‘WITHOUT EVIDENCE, that the election was decided fraudulently.’ As usual, this is FAKE NEWS.”
Appending the phrase “without evidence” is not a “clause.” It’s a statement of fact. Trump and his minions lost more than sixty court cases challenging the election due to the total absence of any supporting evidence.

“There is massive and unconditional evidence that the election was shattered with fraud and irregularities at a level that our Country has never seen before. Much of it is already public, and a great deal more is coming out in the very near future. Every time you read a statement that there is ‘no evidence of election fraud,’ about the 2020 election scam, just attribute that statement to a crooked and collusive media (they work closely together with the Radical Left Democrats) that will do anything to hide the real facts of this election fiasco.”
It is amazing how this alleged evidence is “massive” and “unconditional” (whatever that means), and occurs “at a level that our Country has never seen before,” but he can’t cite a single example of any of it. However, he instructs his devotees on how to process the fact that there isn’t any proof by simply attributing it to the “crooked” media. In other words, don’t believe lying eyes. If he really wants people to accept his claims of fraud, why doesn’t he just present some proof of it?

“After seeing the irrefutable evidence from numerous states, others are talking about doing deep forensic audits. This election was a scam and the Lamestream Media is doing everything in their power not to allow the people to see or read about what really took place. We no longer have a free and open media (they don’t cover the truth), but the word is getting out stronger than ever before.”
Once again, it is easy to refute evidence that doesn’t exist in reality. And the only states that are talking about doing audits are those with Republican legislatures who have bought into Trump’s lies. If Trump has a problem with the media not covering his alleged evidence, why doesn’t he produce it? Perhaps because it only exists in his twisted imagination?

“Even the Justice Department has no interest in the crooked and corrupt 2020 Presidential Election. They are only interested in hurting those who want to reveal how totally dishonest it was. The Justice Department should be looking at the people who rigged the election, not the Patriots of our Country who are seeking to find how our Nation was defrauded.”
For the record, Trump’s own Justice Department, with dependable sycophants like Attorney Genuflect Bill Barr, refused to validate his election fraud ranting. Barr’s opinions were eventually revealed in Jonathan Karl’s new book, Betrayal, where Barr is quoted as saying that “My suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bullsh**.” That, of course, triggered a Trumpian temper tantrum.

“We must also look to the future and fight for State Legislatures to reform their elections so that this will NEVER happen again. In the end, truth will WIN!”
Can’t really argue with that. Although, in Trump’s mind he’s actually proposing election “reforms” that suppress the vote, and “truths” that are flagrant distortions of reality that fit his delusional, narcissistic psychoses.

And there you have it. Trump’s tedious tirade about unprecedented levels of election fraud that doesn’t contain a single example. And yet, somehow his cult followers eat this up with a side of fries. It’s both pitiful and frightening that this can occur in a modern democratic society. We can only hope that spell wears off before the damage done is irreversible.

I Alone Can ‘Fix’ It? Trump Claims for Himself the Exclusive ‘Right to Destroy’ America

Throughout his single term as “president,” and his subsequent habitation of loserville, Donald Trump has demonstrated an impressive ability to make a total and complete arse of himself. Some of the highlights include his belief that stealth fighters are actually invisible, his claims that windmills cause cancer, his proposal to nuke hurricanes, his praise for how George Washington’s Army took over airports, and his advocacy of injecting bleach to cure COVID.

It may be going too far to suggest that his latest hysterical outburst surpasses any of those beauties, but it is at least in the same league. At his recent cult rally and coronavirus super-spreader in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump told his enrapt disciples that…

“Our country is being destroyed by people who have no right to destroy it. People that won an election illegally, people that should not have been elected. They lost in a landslide.”

Let’s begin at the end of that vacuous verbosity. The only one who lost in a landslide was Trump himself. And despite months of hyperventilating, he still hasn’t presented a shred of evidence of any “illegal” election activity. He’s been peddling his inflammatory “Big Lie” rhetoric months without any concern for the violence that it has caused and will likely cause in the future.

However, what truly deserves recognition for downright idiocy is Trump’s assertion that the people who he, in his egomaniacal delirium, alleges are destroying the country have “no right” to do so. That implies that there are people who do have that right. And of course, in his cartoon brain, that means him. To his credit, he already made a pretty good attempt at it.

This must be what Trump meant when he insisted that “I alone can fix it.” Although he was using the word “fix” in the way a mobster would with regard to a boxing match wherein he wanted to insure that the fighter he was betting on would win. It was revealing phrasing that is now the title of an anti-Trump book by Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker of the Washington Post. Rucker appeared on Face the Nation Sunday to disclose just how close Trump came to his aspirations of destroying the country:

“It wasn’t until Trump left office that…we learned how much worse it really was. How close the country came to the brink, not only of chaos but of democracy falling.”

In addition to the above, Trump dropped a few other Loony Tunes this week. For instance, he still thinks that he can be returned to his throne this year:

He learned a new word (routers), but not the definition:

And he’s repeating an old word that isn’t exactly family-friendly at his cult rally where children (and childish adults) are in attendance:

Never mind that no Democrat has ever said or even thought that about the election. Also, Trump called the New Green Deal, “New Green Bullsh*t.” He’s so presidenty.

These are just a sampling of the peculiar lunacies Trump has laid down and that America has had to tolerate for the past five years. It doesn’t include the far more serious matters, such as violent insurrection and hundreds of thousands of viral fatalities. And the ordeal is still not over.

As long as Trump and his confederates have not been brought to justice, the nation will continue to suffer. Even after Trump has left the scene, his successors will take over where he left off unless the rule of law is restored. And it’s up to the American people to demand it.

Donald Trump is ‘An American War Criminal in His Own Country’ ~ Carl Bernstein

For the past six months Donald Trump has persisted with his reckless and inflammatory “Big Lie” rhetoric that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. That egomaniacal blather led directly to the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. And it continues to this day with Trump’s most recent cult rally in Phoenix, Arizona, where he spent nearly all of his 90+ minutes ranting about the last election.

However, Trump’s phony election fraud fetish only scratches the surface of his danger and dementia. On Sunday’s Reliable Sources on CNN, famed Watergate reporter, Carl Bernstein, delivered a convincing argument for changing the context with which we view Trump. His self-serving distortions of reality are not merely examples of his narcissistic thirst for adoration and power. They represent a much more serious breach of societal norms and international law. Bernstein began by noting that “What we’re talking about is a kind of delusional madness.” Then he elaborated saying that…

“I think when we’re talking about Trump’s crimes as an American war criminal in his own country, that he has perpetrated upon our people, including the tens of thousands who died because of his homicidal negligence in the pandemic, putting his own electoral interests above the health of our people as they were slaughtered in this pandemic.

“Looking at his actions in terms of fomenting a coup to hold on to office, in which the head of the American military, the Joint Chiefs of Staff [Gen. Mark Milley], has now compared Trump – not the press, not reporters comparing Trump to Hitler – but rather the head of the American military, comparing him and his movement to Brownshirts, to the Reichstag fire. This is a huge wake up call to this country.”

Bernstein is articulating what many Americans have already been thinking for months (years?). And he is providing just the right evidence to support his opinion. Trump has brazenly placed his own interests above those of the nation. He has gone to extreme lengths to persuade his dimwitted cult disciples that his goals are the same as theirs. And he has grievously harmed millions by doing so. This same point was made by historian Steven Beschloss, who tweeted that…

While Trump is certainly guilty of forming and encouraging that “death cult,” the liability of the conservative, Trump-fluffing media cannot be ignored. First, and still foremost, is Fox News, where Trump’s lies are not just tolerated, they are supported by a roster of anchors, contributors, and guests, who are almost uniformly devotees of the Cult of Trump. They believe the coronavirus was a hoax created to hurt Trump. They believe that President Biden is a communist. They believe that Trump won the election. In short, they are hopelessly bonkers. And they are spreading that sickness to their viewers.

It is crucial that the nation recognize just how detrimental Trump has been to America, and will continue to be if the American people don’t hold him accountable. That means our legal institutions need to step up and charge him for the crimes he’s committed. Unless they do it will just be setting the precedented for the next aspiring dictator to take over where Trump left off. Bernstein and Beschloss are saying exactly the right things. But if we do nothing in response, the American experiment will end in failure.

HYSTERICAL: Trump Slams Fox News in Massive Meltdown Over His Absurd Election Lies

The downward spiral of Donald Trump continues to spin uncontrollably into the depths of madness. The evidence is impossible to ignore. He recently filed a laughably ludicrous lawsuit against Twitter, Facebook, and Google. He posted plagiarized plugs for books by Fox News flunkies. And on Saturday morning crybaby Trump whined pitifully that the British Open snubbed his money-losing Turnberry golf course.

However, that wasn’t the worst of Trump’s emotional malfunctions this week. His months long mental breakdown over having decisively lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden has consumed his every waking moment. Never mind that it was that lunacy that led to the deadly insurrection in Washington, D.C., on January 6th, and is likely to incite further violence on the part of his Crackpot Crusaders. Trump persists in peddling the “Big Lie” despite having no proof whatsoever.

On Friday Trump had his spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, post his latest temper tantrum on Twitter, since he’s been banned for repeated, and potentially harmful, lies. The message began with a wild swing at his own Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News):

“Fox News and other media outlets incorrectly side with the outdated and terrible Maricopa County Election Board to report no fraud found in the Presidential Election. They spew the gross misinformation purposefully put out by the county and the Associated Press.”

Trump is referring to an article published by the Associated Press and tweeted by Fox News anchor Brett Baier. The article revealed the results of a comprehensive study of alleged election fraud in Arizona and concluded that there wasn’t any to speak of (fewer than 200 “possible” cases out of 3.4 million votes). Trump went on to make what he presented as “factual” assertions of fraud, but for which there is zero basis in the real world:

“[They] IGNORE the very important Arizona Senate’s hearing yesterday, which showed 168,000 fraudulent ballots printed on illegal paper (unofficial ballots), 74,000 mail-in ballots received that were never mailed (magically appearing ballots), 11,000 voters were added to the voter rolls AFTER the election and still voted all the access logs to the machines were wiped, and the election server was hacked during the election.”

All told, Trump’s utterly unfounded claims assert that there were more than a quarter of million fraudulent votes tallied in a race that he lost by about 11,000. All of the allegations were drawn from Republican conspiracy theorists in the Arizona Senate and their hired hoaxsters, the Cyber Ninjas.

As an example of how flagrant their fallacies are, the AP fact check debunked the claim of 168,000 allegedly fake ballots on the wrong paper, noting that they were ordinary provisional ballots that were printed and cast on election day. It’s something anyone with election experience would know. Also easily debunked was the 74,000 mail-in ballot claim, saying that the Ninjas were simply using the wrong data files and that “the claim isn’t true and represents a misunderstanding of how early voting works in Arizona.” In other words, the Ninjas, who have no experience in election audits, are idiots who don’t have the slightest idea what they’re doing.

The same failure to grasp the assignment they’ve been given taints all of the other claims in Trump’s harangue. But that didn’t stop him from accelerating the crazy. He quoted a few blatantly partisan GOP state senators to support his babbling rant. None of them offered any proof of fraud either. Just like Trump’s crack legal team that lost more than 60 cases because they couldn’t produce a scrap of evidence. This is all he has to cling to. And it only confirms just how detached from reality he and his glassy-eyed cult followers are.

It should also not go without notice that Harrington’s posting of these statements by Trump are violations of Twitter’s terms of service that prohibit attempts to circumvent a suspension. (more on that here). She has posted Trump’s pseudo-tweets 48 times in just the past two weeks. Harrington’s account should be reported and suspended for her repeated breach of Twitter rules.

Trump Mangles Math in Misquote From Biden’s Voting Rights Speech to Further His Big Lie

President Joe Biden went to Philadelphia Tuesday to deliver an address (video below) on the precarious state of democracy amidst the unsettled torrents of post-Trump America. He outlined what Congress and his administration need to do in order to preserve and strengthen what remains of the nation’s voting rights as Republicans seek to suppress election access and opportunity.

After having lost decisively, Donald Trump has persisted in his attempts to malign America’s electoral system as corrupt and rigged to steal the election from him. It’s a campaign that is closely aligned with the aspirations of foreign enemies like Russia to undermine faith in democracy.

Contrary to his cheesy MAGA slogan, Trump really hates America and said as much earlier Tuesday in a statement calling some of the nations greatest and most iconic cities (Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Oakland, and Baltimore) among “the most corrupt cities in the Country.” And you can add New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle to his list. You can’t love America and hate the places where most of its citizens live.

Meanwhile, Trump and his pathetic legal team have failed utterly to make a convincing case for his election fraud fantasies. But that’s only because they haven’t been able to come up with a single shred of evidence to support their ludicrous claims. That, however, hasn’t stopped Trump from peddling the “Big Lie” at every opportunity. And today’s speech by Biden was no exception.

Trump released a statement through his spokes shill, Liz Harrington, who promptly posted it on Twitter (which Trump is not permitted to do because he was banned for repeatedly propagating lies, and for which Harrington should also be banned). Trump babbled that…

“Biden just said 150 people voted in the 2020 Presidential Election (Scam!). On the assumption that he meant 150 million people, and based on the fact that I got 75 million+++, that would mean that Biden got 75 million votes, which is 6 million votes less than what they said they got. So what is that all about? Are they already conceding 6 million votes?”

The problem with Trump’s statement is that he misquoted Biden. The actual line from the speech said that “All told, more than 150 [million] Americans of every age, every race, every background, exercised their right to vote.” Trump left out the words “more than.” Consequently, his math is completely off. With the correct quote – and also correcting Trump’s dishonest claim of “75 million+++” votes (it was actually only 74.2 million), there are no missing votes and nothing is being conceded.

Trump should be familiar with the concept of rounding off numbers considering he has done so illegally for decades to either inflate his personal wealth or lower his tax burden. So this is just another typically dishonest ploy by Trump to fudge the numbers in order to gain some personal benefit. And luckily for him, his cult followers are dumb enough to believe it.

Trump didn’t bother to comment on anything else in Biden’s speech, even though some of it was directed squarely at him. For instance, Biden went straight after Trump’s “Big Lie” by noting the unprecedented scrutiny that this election received:

“With recount after recount after recount, court case after court case, The 2020 election was the most scrutinized election ever in American history. Challenge after challenge brought to local and state election officials, state legislatures, state and federal courts, even to the United States Supreme Court not once, but twice.

“More than 80 judges, including those appointed by my predecessor, heard the arguments. In every case neither cause nor evidence was found to undermine the national achievement of administering the historic election in the face of such extraordinary challenges. Audits, recounts were conducted in Arizona, Wisconsin. In Georgia it was recounted three times.

“It’s clear. For those who challenge the results or integrity of the election, no other election has ever been held under such scrutiny or high standards. The “Big Lie” was just that – a big lie.

“The 2020 election, it’s not hyperbole to suggest, is the most examined in the fullest expression of the will of the people in the history of this nation. This should be celebrated. It’s the example of America at its best. But instead, we continue to see an example of human nature at its worst. Something darker, more sinister.

“In America if you lose, you accept the results. We follow the Constitution. You try again. You don’t call facts “fake” and then try to bring down the American experiment just because you’re unhappy. That’s not statesmanship. That’s not statesmanship, it’s selfishness.”

Biden was actually going pretty easy on Trump. Trump’s reckless, incendiary, and brazenly un-American behavior is certainly not statesmanship. But it’s closer to treason than mere selfishness. A better example of patriotism would be for Congress to pass the “For the People Act,” and the “John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act,” as Biden implored them to do in his speech. And every America should do the same by contacting their senators and letting them how crucial this is to our country’s future.

Trump Goes Totally Bonkers Berating Bill Barr Over the ‘Bullsh–‘ Bombshell

Donald Trump’s wrath is as predictable as the sun setting in the west. And on Sunday night the sun set on Trump whining petulantly about reports that his Attorney Genuflect, Bill Barr, confessed that “We realized from the beginning it was just bullsh–.” He was talking about the “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was rife with fraud and had been stolen from Trump, Never mind that Barr was an active participant in that campaign of self-serving and evidence-free lies. And now, his futile attempt to rehabilitate his shattered reputation has triggered his former boss.

Trump issued a statement (posted below) lambasting “RINO former Attorney General Bill Barr” because he “failed to investigate election fraud, and really let down the American people.” Trump cited as an example Barr’s neglect to do anything about “the scam that took place in Georgia of ballot stuffing on camera.” Which, of course, never happened, and for which no video exists.

Trump also wondered why, “If there was no fraud, why are Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and other States spending so much time and effort on exposing the fraud?” The all-too-apparent answer is that it’s only delusional and ultra-partisan Republicans wasting time on such nonsense. And they have, to date, exposed precisely nothing. Although Trump and his disgraced attorney, Rudy Giuliani, have lost some sixty court cases attempting to materialize his phantom claims of fraud.

Whereupon, Trump itemized a list of alleged voting irregularities that he says “we already know,” but that share the distinctive characteristic of being utterly fictional. They include the purging of “101,789 “obsolete” voters” who, by definition didn’t vote at all; “Thousands of ballots ‘wheeled in through the back door'” that exist only in his warped imagination; “Illegal alien votes” that occurred in tiny numbers and most often inadvertently; “Election law changes” that supposedly violated some imaginary clause in the Constitution; And, as Trump says “much more.” And all of it flagrantly false.

Trump implied that Barr is lying now because he previously praised Trump in his pro forma resignation letter. However, Trump doesn’t entertain the possibility that Barr is telling the truth now and was lying back then to beat a hasty retreat from a sinking ship. Either way, Barr cannot be considered trustworthy. And the same goes for GOP Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, who Trump chastises as a “spineless RINO.”

Trump sets up his conclusion by expressing his “disappointment in every sense of the word” for the man he hired to lead the Justice Department into disrepute. Plus, Trump demonstrates that he has no idea what the job of Attorney General entails. Suggesting that he thinks the AG represents him personally, and is subject to attorney/client privilege, Trump complains that Barr “shouldn’t be speaking about the President.” Then Trump alleges that Barr, who was the most conflicted and partisan AG in modern history, had actually been working to quash the investigations that Trump wanted him to pursue when, in fact, Barr was the driving force behind such probes.

Trump finally closes saying that “Bill Barr’s weakness helped facilitate the cover-up of the Crime of the Century, the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election.” Which is actually true, but not for any of the reasons that Trump thinks it is. Barr was a proponent of the “Big Lie” that triggered Trump’s insurrection on Capitol Hill on January 6th. He advanced Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in defiance of the will of the people. And despite Trump’s infantile whining and insults, he and Barr will go down in history together as traitors to their nation and to democracy.
