Fox News Clings to Trump’s Big Lie of Election Fraud that Fueled the Capitol Riots

A week ago several thousand Donald Trump cult disciples stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the constitutional duty of Congress to certify the results of the presidential election. These traitors terrorized members of Congress, their staff, and Capitol security. Five people died during the insurrection, and many more were seriously injured.

Fox News, Terrorism

The impetus for this assault on democracy was Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election was stolen from him by some nefarious and massive Deep State cabal. Never mind that there is no evidence whatsoever of this alleged conspiracy. Just the allegation was sufficient to inflame Trump’s followers and produce a historic and tragic atrocity carried out by fatuous fools under the influence of flagrant falsehoods.

Within a week Trump was impeached for his role in inciting the riots, which he threatened would result in even more violence. He may be right. His cult is notoriously hostile and not known for their adherence to reason or facts. And it makes little difference that he posted a video asking to find common ground. With racist conspiracy crackpots? Not likely.

All of which makes what aired on Fox News Thursday morning more heinous and dangerous. Trump’s trade advisor, Peter Navarro, who has zero credentials to address these matters, appeared on Fox News for an interview with their Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo. The segment could only be described as a further incitement to violence (video below):

Navarro: What happened yesterday [the impeachment vote] was a travesty. The Democratic Party did violence to this country by attacking a president who I believe was legally elected on November 3. If the election were held today he’d be elected again. And if he runs in 2024 he will be elected then. And I think that’s what the Democrats fear. I’ve never been more pissed off in this place, and I think there’s 74 million Americans out there who voted for President Trump who feel exactly the same way.”

Notice that Navarro tries to linguistically associate Democrats with violence when all of the violence was caused by Republicans and Trump supporters. More ominously, he is regurgitating the very same “Big Lie” that Trump has been pushing about a “rigged” election, which is what triggered his supporters to commit terrorist crimes in the Capitol. This is a brazen attempt to incite more violence, just as Trump warned. Navarro then engaged in this exchange with Bartiromo:

Navarro: So I would say to these people on Capitol Hill, “Knock it off. Stop this.” Let the man leave peacefully with his dignity. He was the greatest jobs president, the greatest trade negotiator we’ve ever had in history. And this is just wrong what they’re doing.
Bartiromo: We know that there were irregularities in this election. We know that 70% of Trump voters have said we’re not buying this election. We think it was rigged. But get this, you cannot say that on social media. You will get banned.
Navarro: You can’t say it anywhere.
Bartiromo: You can’t use the word “irregularities.” And if you say there was fraud it’s absolutely outrageous. This feels more like communist China than it does America, that they have the ability to stomp out free speech.

First of all, suggesting that Trump has any dignity is just another big lie. What’s more, he is literally the worst jobs president ever. As for trade, he has only succeeded in imposing tariffs that have crippled American businesses.

Then Bartiromo returns to the election fraud lie, saying that “70% of Trump voters have said we’re not buying this election.” So what? Those are Trump’s dimwitted zealots whose opinions were formed by his hammering falsehoods into them. Of course they feel that way. That is not, however, the way the majority of Americans feel. They support his impeachment and removal from office.

Both Bartiromo and Navarro then make the absurd observation that you can’t say the election was rigged. Notice that they are both saying it on a national television network. Bartiromo goes further to compare her false allegations to the media in communist China. Once again, she’s making that charge on her own nationally broadcast TV show. The only plausible comparison that can be made in that regard is the comparison to how devotional and sycophantic she and her Fox News confederates are toward Dear Leader Trump.

Fox News seems to be doing everything in its power to exacerbate an already volatile situation. An analysis by Media Matters shows that Fox News has cast doubt on the results of the election nearly 800 times in the two weeks since Fox itself called the election for Joe Biden. They seem to be purposefully antagonizing Trump’s terrorist brigades. There just isn’t any other plausible explanation for their persistent dissemination of Trump’s lies. And if they keep it up, they will make sure that Trump’s prediction of more violence comes true.

Trump Shill on Fox News Concedes that Republicans Will Lose Georgia and the Senate

It’s been seven weeks since Donald Trump was humiliated by becoming the first reality TV game show host to lose reelection as president to a “sleepy” opponent who commanded an army of thousands running a “rigged” election. And Trump continues to whine daily that he was “robbed,” while posting laughably phony “evidence” of fraud that he declined to present in any of the nearly sixty lawsuits he’s lost.

Fox News Sad

On Monday morning Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, invited Trump’s alleged trade advisor, Peter Navarro, on her show to discuss allegedly corrupt election systems, a subject that Navarro has zero expertise in (video below). The resulting conversation was predictably preposterous as Navarro dodged and weaved to make points that were either incoherent or contrary to his own narrative. For example…

Bartiromo: Do you believe that this was organized in big cities by somebody in Washington?
Navarro: So there’s a couple of things to unpack here. First of all, one of the findings in our report is that there’s no silver bullet. There’s no single thing that did it. Death by a thousand cuts. Death by these six dimensions of election irregularities.

And finally getting to the answer to Bartiromo’s leading question…

Navarro: Yes. It was coordinated in the Democratic Party with respect to things like relaxing rules in Georgia with that consent decree, or going into Pennsylvania and having them change guides, or going into Wisconsin and having them change the definition of involuntarily confined voters. Brass knuckle stuff. And this all should have been fought out in the legal process cause it’s clearly breaking the law.

But despite not identifying any law that was broken, or supplying any evidence of illegality…

Navarro: So yes, it was coordinated just like a page out of Lee Atwater’s book. It’s like “get it done, stuff the ballot box, by any means necessary.” And we need that investigated because we can’t go forward and have for … I strongly believe that that election in Georgia needs to be postponed till February, till we sort that out. Georgia, of the six states I looked at, is a cesspool, a cesspool of these election irregularities. And if the people in Georgia and this country can’t have confidence in their elections, and we wind wind up with these irregularities putting in two Democrat (sp) senators … Elections have consequences. We all know what’s gonna happen after that.

No, we don’t all “know what’s gonna happen.” What exactly is Navarro implying? For the record, Atwater was a Republican dirty trickster who repented for his vicious brand of politics on his deathbed. More to the point, Navarro is virtually conceding that Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Purdue are bound for defeat by their Democratic challengers, Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. Navarro certainly wouldn’t want to postpone an election if he thought his side was winning. What’s more, Navarro’s characterization of Georgia – a state with a GOP governor and Secretary of State managing the election – as a “cesspool” is only going to dissuade more Republicans from voting at all in the January 5th Senate runoff.

Navarro went on to advocate for a “a special counsel that we put in place before inauguradation (sp) day to get to the bottom of this.” He also said that he wanted “to seize a lot of these voting machines.” Even Fox News is walking back their preposterous allegations of election fraud, although they are doing so under threat of a lawsuit by the companies they’ve been slandering for the past few weeks.

And never mind that the election in Georgia has already been certified by the Republicans in charge and can’t be changed. Navarro is totally on board with Trump’s delusional notion that he can orchestrate a coup and retain power indefinitely. It’s becoming downright pathetic as Trump and his minions cling to ever more ludicrous threads of conspiracy theories and the ravings of crackpot Internet trolls. You really have to wonder if there is any bottom that these losers will sink to.

Laugh Along as Comrade Bartiromo Fluffs Dear Leader Trump on Fox News

It’s hard to imagine a more pathetic final curtain for the low-brow, reality TV presidency of Donald Trump. After having lost decisively to Joe Biden, Trump continues to shake his tiny fist belligerently at the clouds while shouting delusionally at his cult followers that “I won the election by a lot!” Sadly, his glassy-eyed disciples will eat up his impotent protests.

Fox News, Maria Bartiromo, Donald Trump

Trump must be suffering tremendously knowing that he made history by becoming the first television game show host to lose the White House to a candidate that he maligned as a mentally deficient commie. If you can’t beat someone you honestly believe is that unfit, you must be picking up wood splinters on your behind from scraping it on the barrel bottom. Trump acknowledged the scope of this defeat a few weeks ago when he speculated that he would have to leave the country if he lost. Can he be legally held to that?

One must never underestimate Trump’s ability to sink lower from any given depth. On Saturday morning he lashed out at Fox News, the notoriously right-wing propaganda machine that put him in the White House:

Trump has been on a rollercoaster, love/hate relationship with Fox News for quite a while. Recently it became clear that his post-presidency career will be focused on “wrecking Fox News.” And many of his worshipful minions are on board with that mission. He much prefers pseudo-news networks who won’t commit the sacrilege of interviewing Democrats or other non-Trumpian heathens.

However, the day after Trump castigated daytime Fox News as “virtually unwatchable” he sat for a tongue bathing interview with Fox’s daytime host, and Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo (video below). Needless to say, it was a non-stop cavalcade of crackpot conspiracy theories and reality denialism. Here are a few select examples of Trump’s whining, paranoia, and deceit:

“The mail-in ballots are a disaster. They sent millions and millions and millions of mail-in ballots. I’m sure you know people that got two, three, or four. Because I do.”

That’s funny. If Trump knows people who got multiple mail-in ballots, why hasn’t he or his crack (addicted) attorneys produced any of them?

“There were a lot of dead people that so-called voted in this election. But dead people were, in some cases – many, many cases – thousands of cases, voted.”

Again, Trump hasn’t presented any evidence of these zombie voters in any of the dozens of lawsuits he’s already filed. Which may explain why he has a win/loss record in court of about 1 in 38.

“This is total fraud. And how the FBI and Department of Justice – I don’t know, maybe they’re involved. But how people are allowed to get away with this stuff is unbelievable. This election was rigged. This election was a total fraud. This is total fraud.”

Now Trump is accusing his Justice Department and FBI – run by his own hand-picked appointees (Bill Barr and Christopher Wray) of being complicit in alleged election fraud. They probably were, at his direction. They just weren’t very good at it. That’s what is really troubling him.

“And the problem we have – We go to judges and people don’t want to get involved, The media doesn’t even want to cover it.”

The judges did get involved. They just ruled against him. And the media also got involved by covering the defeats Trump suffered in court. Trump only sees what he wants to see.

“It’s a situation the likes of which – we don’t have freedom of the press in this country. We have suppression by the press. They suppress. You know you can’t have a scandal if nobody reports about it.”

You have to wonder what Trump thinks hasn’t been reported. All of his allegations have made the news. It isn’t the media’s fault that they are bogus and were correctly reported that way. Trump thinks his fake scandals should be reported as truthful despite his failure to provide any proof.

“This is the greatest fraud in the history of our country from an electoral standpoint. And I guess you could build it up bigger than an electrical – I mean what’s bigger from an electoral standpoint, what’s bigger than this? This is the essence of our country. This is the whole ballgame. And they cheated. Joe Biden did not get 80 million votes.”

It’s cute that Trump thinks he knows how many votes Biden got without counting any of them. Or more likely, he just thinks that any votes for Biden don’t count.

“I got 74 million votes. The largest in the history of a sitting president. So many millions more than anyone thought that we were even trying to get. And everybody said this is over. I’m telling you, at ten o’clock everybody thought it was over. And then the phony mail-in started coming in,”

Not everybody, Diaper Don. Trump believes that the vote counting should have stopped before all the votes were counted. Particularly the mail-in votes that included much of the military and – himself.

For her part, Bartiromo allowed Trump to disgorge his incoherent rants uninterrupted. When she did manage to squeeze in a few words they were to express her awe at how brilliant his insights were. She rarely wavered from responses like this one agreeing with Trump’s tedious repetition that the election was rigged: “This is disgusting,” Bartiromo sucked up, “And we can not allow America’s elections to be corrupted.”

Fox News is going to have make a rapid transformation after Trump is evicted from the People’s House. And now they’ll have to contend with some weak but motivated competition, perhaps including one with a Trump brand. But never fear. If the past is any indication, Fox will quickly shift from a government loving purveyor of pro-Trump propaganda to a government hating pack of anti-Biden dissenters. Their reputation for conservative bias and shameless hypocrisy will remain in tact. As will their commitment to being America’s goto source for blatant lies and its biggest stain on journalism.

Trump is Aiding and Abetting Russian Propaganda to Smear the Biden Family

There is a new “scandal” brewing in Trump World as they desperately search for a way dig Donald Trump out of his political abyss. The recent rash of feigned outrage stems from an interview by Senior Fox News Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo. She gifted her platform to the Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, a Trump appointee who has no experience in intelligence. And the the result was a made-for-State-TV segment intended to rescue a floundering campaign.

Donald Trump Vladimir Putin

The gist of the so-called scandal concerns a mysterious laptop computer that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden. The New York Post reported that it was left with a computer repair shop in Delaware where the owner claims to have found “incriminating” e-mails that he passed on to Rudy Giuliani and the FBI.

The whole story was rife with contradictions, unverifiable claims, and outright falsehoods. It was so bad that when Giuliani first brought it to Fox News, they declined to air it with sources saying that…

“…the lack of authentication of Hunter Biden’s alleged laptop, combined with established concerns about Giuliani as a reliable source and his desire for unvetted publication, led the network’s news division to pass.”

Fox anchor Bret Baier called the story “sketchy,” and Chris Wallace said it was “suspicious.” Nevertheless, the primetime Ministers of Trump Propaganda (Sean Hannity, et al) were more than happy to jump feet first into the bogus hit piece.

During the Bartiromo interview, Ratcliffe sought to rebut the debunking that threatened to defuse the budding scandal. He insisted that there was no evidence that the information about the laptop, and the data supposedly found on it, were the product of Russian disinformation. He blamed the allegation of Russian involvement on Rep. Adam Schiff, but in fact, it came from the FBI that is currently run by Trump appointee Chris Wray:

“Federal authorities are investigating whether a Russian influence operation was behind the disclosure of emails purporting to document the Ukrainian and Chinese business dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic nominee Joe Biden, a person briefed on the matter said Friday.

“The FBI’s examination is tied to the New York Post’s reporting this week on the contents of a computer hard drive it obtained from President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.”

What’s more, the associates who Giuliani relied on for his smear campaign have been positively identified as Russian intelligence operatives by Trump’s Treasury Department:

“Treasury secretary, Steve Mnuchin, declared, ‘[Andriy ] Derkach and other Russian agents employ manipulation and deceit to attempt to influence elections in the United States and elsewhere around the world.’ Previously, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence told Congress that Derkach is ‘spreading claims about corruption’ as part of the Kremlin’s effort to undermine Biden’s campaign. And he worked with Guliani to do so.”

The New York Post’s story has been the talk of the Trump Cult. Trump himself has tweeted about it repeatedly since its publication. He called it the “smoking gun” proof that Biden is “a corrupt politician,” and that it’s “the second biggest political scandal in our history!” But the actual reporters were less convinced by the material they had assembled themselves. They wouldn’t even allow the Post to attach their names to the story:

“On Sunday night, the New York Times reported that the New York Post had a difficult time finding a reporter to put their byline on the story amidst internal concerns about its dubious sourcing. The Times reported that the staff writer who mostly wrote the story, Bruce Golding, refused put his name on the report because he doubted its credibility.” […]

“The story’s bylines eventually went to Emma-Jo Morris, a former associate producer on Fox News show Hannity, who joined the Post as an editor this year and had yet to publish a story with her byline, and Gabrielle Fonrouge, a Post reporter since 2014. According to the Times, Fonrouge only learned her name was on the story after it was published.”

So this story is so untrustworthy that its own authors don’t believe it. It is filled with contradictions and implausible allegations that were sourced to Russian intelligence operatives. And this is what Trump and Fox News and the rest of the Confederacy of Deplorables thinks will bring about the end of Joe Biden. But it isn’t quite working out that way. In fact, they’re about to learn something about how the boomerang effect works.

COVID DELIRIUM? Now Trump is Threatening Aliens (UFOs)

The “stable genius” currently occupying the White House is exhibiting symptoms of severe mental distress. That isn’t anything new, however, it is dreadfully apparent that Donald Trump is descending to new and more absurd lows. The most likely reason for this is that it is getting closer to November 3rd and his prospects for reelection continue to hover somewhere between dismal and preposterous.

Donald Trump, Mars Attacks, Alien, UFO

The grievous stench of desperation is enveloping Trump like a dark and low-hanging cloud. It’s manifesting in his clinging reliance on his Fox News pacifiers. Trump has done five “interviews” with Fox hosts in four days, including Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Mark Levin, and Maria Bartiromo twice.

The second Bartiromo segment aired Sunday morning and featured Trump making bizarre comments that only offer further proof of his psychoses. For instance, after being asked, he was unable to coherently articulate a second term agenda beyond prematurely opening up the country and bashing Democrats. He claimed he was “cured” of the coronavirus and is now “immune,” neither of which is medically sound. What’s more, he said that he has a protective glow that will protect others from any contagious threat he might pose. He also bragged that there have been “only” 214,000 deaths from the coronavirus, which he characterized as success.

These are the ravings of a madman. But Trump was just warming up for his answer to the final question of the segment. Bartiromo asked him if he could explain “why the Department of Defense has set up a UFO task force […] Mr President, as we wrap up here, are there UFOs?” Trump gave the question serious consideration and replied:

“Well, I’m gonna have to check on that. I heard that. I heard that two days ago. So I’ll check on that. I’ll take a good strong look at that. But I will tell you this, we have now created a military the likes of which we’ve never had before, in terms of equipment. The equipment that we have, the weapons that we have – and hope to God we never have to use them – but we have created a military the likes of which nobody has ever had. Russia, China, they’re all envious of what we have. All built in the USA.”

Isn’t it comforting to know that Trump is going to “take a good strong look at” the existence of potentially hostile UFOs? But more importantly, if those space aliens try anything they are gonna regret it. Trump is saying that he has built the most powerful military, not just on Earth, but in the entire universe. Those aliens, who despite having have mastered interstellar travel, don’t stand a chance against Trump’s Space Force. Never mind that everything Trump said about having enhanced the military is another of his flagrant lies about alleged achievements.

It’s episodes like this that make it impossible to ignore speculation that Trump is suffering from the psychotic side effects of the medications he’s been taking to combat the coronavirus. Steroids and the other immuno-response drugs that he has been prescribed are known to produce mood swings, anxieties, and delirium. And so much of Trump’s recent rantings have all the signals of mental infirmity. In recent days he has been both attacking and embracing Fox News. He accused Nancy Pelosi of being crazy. He claimed, Messiah like, that he got COVID-19 because he was doing it for us.” And shortly after his visit with Bartiromo, Trump tweeted that…

That, of course, is utterly false. No verifiable study has concluded that having contracted the coronavirus produces immunity from either getting or giving the disease. Trump’s tweet was flagged by Twitter for “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information.” Not that telling obvious lies is out of character for Trump. But he may have to be more careful when he’s dealing with the aliens. They may have truth rays.

Trump Chickens Out of Second Debate While Ranting Incoherently on Fox News

Following his disastrous performance during the first presidential debate with Joe Biden, it isn’t surprising that Donald Trump has now declared that he will not participate in the second debate. He knows that every poll has shown him falling even farther behind Biden since the first debate, including the one by his favorite pollster, Rasmussen.

Donald Trump Chicken

Trump’s reelection prospects didn’t improve after Vice-President Mike Pence got creamed by Sen. Kamala Harris in their debate Wednesday night. So when the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) announced that the next debate would be held with the candidates participating remotely, Trump jumped at the chance to use that as an excuse to bail out. The CPD made the change “In order to protect the health and safety of all involved.” That’s a perfectly reasonable adjustment considering that Trump is currently suffering from COVID-19 and has been recklessly exposing others to it.

There are at least 34 close associates to Trump who have contracted the coronavirus. It would be foolhardy to get anywhere near the SuperSpreader-in-Chief for the foreseeable future. But Trump’s exploitation of this is further evidence of his cowardice. He made his intentions clear on Fox News (of course) during an “interview” with Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo (video below), saying that:

“I heard that the [Presidential Debate] Commission, a little while ago, changed the debate style, and that’s not acceptable to us. I beat him in the first debate, according to the polls that I’ve seen. But I beat him easily. I felt I beat him easily. I think he felt it too. He wouldn’t answer any question and he had the protection of Chris Wallace all night long. I thought Chris Wallace was a disaster. But I beat him in the first debate.”

Trump’s psychotic delusion that he won the first debate is typical of someone suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Every poll taken after the debate found that it was Biden who had beaten his unhinged opponent. Yet Trump continues to imagine himself victorious, while whining that everyone, including Wallace, a 17 year veteran of Fox News, is against him. Following the first debate Trump made the ludicrous assertion that Wallace is controlled by the radical left.” When Bartiromo sought to affirm that he would not participate in the second debate, Trump replied:

“No. I’m not going to waste my time at a virtual debate. That’s not what debating is all about. You sit behind a computer and do a debate. It’s ridiculous. And then they cut you off whenever they want. I have a host [Steve Scully of C-SPAN] who I always thought was a nice guy, but I see he’s a Never-Trumper.”

So just to be clear, Trump is saying that he is virulently opposed to doing remote communications in the midst of remotely communicating with Bartiromo for an hour long segment on Fox News. And he does these segments frequently with other Fox Always-Trumpers like Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. But doing essentially the same thing during a deadly pandemic for which he is Patient Zero in Washington, crosses the line for him.

There were some other batty moments deserving of some attention that occurred during his bit with Bartiromo, who has more than proven that she is a fully indoctrinated Trump cultist. For instance…

  • Trump says “I don’t think I’m contagious at all,”
Which, not being a doctor, isn’t his call to make.
  • Trump suggested that he got Covid-19 from Gold Star families.
Because why not blame it on the troops that he thinks are “losers” and “suckers”?
  • Trump tells Bartiromo he shut down stimulus talks because he didn’t “want to play games.”
Which is, in fact, playing games.
  • Trump tells Attorney General Bill Barr that Clinton, Obama, and Biden should be indicted.
    For unspecified (and nonexistent) crimes.
  • Trump whines that his FBI Director Chris has “been disappointing.”
Because he won’t go along with persecuting Trump’s enemies.
  • Trump lied (again) about getting $28 billion from China in tariffs.
    It was actually zero dollars.

And if that isn’t enough, Trump weighed in on the Harris/Pence debate with his trademark hostility and misogyny. After disparaging Harris as “a monster,” Trump lashed out in a thoroughly deranged frenzy saying that…

“I thought that wasn’t even a contest last night. She was terrible. She was…I don’t think you can get worse. And totally unlikeable. And she is. She’s a communist.”

Adding later that…

“Biden won’t make it two months as president. He’s not mentally capable of being president. You know that. Everybody knows that.”

It’s no wonder that Trump doesn’t want to debate Biden again. He knows that he can’t measure up to a sane, competent, and compassionate public servant who is popular with the American people. Trump knows that he doesn’t have control of the facts or the cognitive ability to engage in a substantive discourse with someone who does.

So Trump is running away. Which is his standard practice for dealing with difficult situations, particularly those that he can’t control. He is the proverbial bully who crumbles like a stale cracker when confronted. But in Trump’s case, unfortunately for America, he will try to leave as big a trail of destruction in his wake as he scurries off to his bunker.

UPDATE: Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepien, is now asking to move the second debate to October 22, and the third to October 29. But’s just five days before the election and Biden is probably going to be pretty busy then. This is a desperation move by Trump to recover from his cowardly attempt to bail out.

Throwback Trump: If You Told a Republican to Vote Twice They’d Get Sick at the Thought of It

On Wednesday Donald Trump’s desperation and fear drove him to suborn felony voter fraud by telling his cult followers to vote twice this November. That would not only be a crime for anyone who tried it, it’s also a crime for Trump to make the solicitation. An honest Justice Department would indict him immediately, but the Justice Department of the Trump administration is nobody’s idea of honest.

Donald Trump Red Face

Not surprisingly, Trump has had fluid opinions on this subject that change whenever he perceives the opposite opinion to be more to his benefit. Or maybe he’s just to cognitively challenged to recall his own views from one moment to the next. He doubled down on these felonious solicitations Thursday morning on Twitter. But last May he was interviewed by Senior Fox News Trump-Fluffer Maria Bartiromo and he told her that…

“The level of dishonesty with Democrat voting is unbelievable. If you told a Republican to vote twice, they’d get sick at even the thought of it. And you have people that vote numerous times. What’s happening is crazy. So now they want to send out vote-by-mail. Who knows who’s signing this stuff?”

https://twitter.com/ParkerMolloy/status/1301540686521667585

If what Trump said then was true, there are a lot of sick Republicans running around the country right now. Well … more than usual. And that isn’t even counting those with the coronavirus (which Trump thinks you can get from voting).

Due to the complicity of Trump’s traitorous Attorney Genuflect, Bill Barr, and the Senate GOP, Trump appears to be getting away with his crimes again – for now. But the record is clear and will be preserved for the next attorney general to investigate and prosecute. As is often the case, Trump documents his criminality on national television. “Let them send it in and let them go vote,” Trump said to the press. “And if their system’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote. If it isn’t tabulated, they’ll be able to vote.”

Trump’s babbling about how mail-in votes would be tabulated before in-person voting is pure nonsense. In some states that process doesn’t even begin until after the polls close. Anyone who takes Trump’s advice will be in a heap of trouble. This isn’t a gray area. Both state and federal statutes unambiguously state that even attempting to vote twice is against the law. And every reputable law enforcement official will affirm that. For instance…

Karen Brinson Bell, Executive director of the North Carolina State Board of Elections: It is illegal to vote twice in an election … Attempting to vote twice in an election or soliciting someone to do so also is a violation of North Carolina law.

Michigan Attorney General Nessel: Don’t try this at home. I will prosecute you […] Let me be perfectly clear: voting twice is illegal, no matter who tells you do to it. The president’s idea is a great one for people looking to go to jail.

Ellen L Weintraub, Federal Elections Commissioner: It is illegal in all 50 states and under federal law to vote twice. As any federal officeholder or law enforcement official should know.

Well, any federal officeholder or law enforcement official other than Barr. In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Barr staggered around awkwardly as he tried to avoid contradicting his boss. He trotted out diversions about the point he thought Trump was trying to make, and absurd claims about not knowing state laws. Eventually, Blitzer had to educate him:

Trump was right about one thing. This is “crazy.” It’s so crazy, in fact, that it should trigger an indictment and his immediate removal from office. Or at least the 25th Amendment and a straitjacket. Unfortunately, Trump’s GOP confederates are as crazy as he is and wouldn’t hear of it. So we’ll just have to wait until November (actually January 20) to rid the White House of this madness. If we survive that long.

Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo is Angling for Trump-Fluffer of the Year Award

Donald Trump’s fear of being interviewed by anyone but Fox News is still driving his media schedule. On Thursday he got another tongue bath by Fox’s Maria Bartiromo, who has become one of the network’s most glassy-eyed disciples of the Trump Cult. Her questions were such sycophantic pablum that they would have embarrassed a North Korean State TV shill.

Fox News, Donald Trump, Maria Bartiromo

The entire interview was nothing but pure propaganda, as Bartiromo failed to challenge Trump on any issue, and her follow-ups mostly consisted of obediently nodding her head in agreement. But perhaps the most preposterous and troubling exchange occurred as she was wrapping up the interview and slipped into her best impersonation of a butt-kissing supplicant (video below):

Bartiromo: This is toward the end of your first term as president and this entire term has been dominated by resistance. You’ve gotten so much done: Tax legislation, international things, so much done. And yet the FBI take-down effort, pushback on all of your Supreme Judges, a complete drama around Brett Kavanaugh, the Democrats in Congress attacking your call with the Ukraine leader, then an impeachment trial.
Trump: Over nothing. Over absolutely nothing.
Bartiromo: And you keep…I’ve never seen anybody that can take a punch and get right back up and keep punching. Where does this resilience come from that you keep getting things done in the face of all of this?

Bartiromo makes groupies look respectable. She led off with a stream of unbridled praise for Trump’s alleged achievements, but could only list one, his tax cuts for the rich. Then she rattled off what she regarded as Trump’s obstacles, beginning with the inane conspiracy theory that Trump is calling “Obamagate.” Trump told Bartiromo that it was “the biggest political scandal of all time.” And Bartiromo giddily agreed. But when she asked Trump to explain what it is, he wandered off into an incoherent and unrelated rant about Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, never returning to actually answer the question. And Bartiromo failed to press him on it.

Following that, Bartiromo complained on Trump’s behalf about “pushback” he received on his Supreme Court nominations, as if that never happened to any other president. She didn’t bother to mention how Mitch McConnell single-handedly denied President Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, even the courtesy of a hearing. That was followed by Bartiromo’s insipid references to Trump’s impeachment, characterizing it as an annoyance and not the historic event that only two other presidents have been subject to.

Finally, Bartiromo mustered up all her courage, batted her eyes, and confessed her adoration for Dear Leader’s divine strength and endurance in the face of an onslaught of evil. In her eyes he is just so powerful and dreamy. She could hardly get all of her tributes out due to the drool flowing from her quivering, orange-stained lips.

And that was just from the last couple of minutes of the interview. The rest of this fawning romance video was equally as crammed with adulation and hero-worship. On Trump’s part, he predictably peppered the hour with his trademark bullying, boasting, and bullshit. For instance…

  • Trump lied about coronavirus fatality estimates, saying that 100,000 (which is up from his previous estimate of 60,000) should be regarded as a victory because it wasn’t 2,000,000.
  • Trump threatened to prosecute and jail President Obama and Joe Biden for crimes that he couldn’t name.
  • Trump tried to rewrite history by claiming that Putin wanted Hillary to win in 2016, even though Putin himself – and all of the U.S. intelligence community – said that Putin wanted Trump to win and helped him to do so.
  • Trump Lied about having built “new” wall along the southern border, which Bartiromo agreed with, despite the fact that not a single mile of new wall has been built.
  • Trump repeated his oft told lie that the U.S. was “taking in billions of dollars” in tariffs from China.

Trump closed by making a bizarre and callously insensitive comment about what he considered to be the positive side of a deadly pandemic. “The one thing about the Plague,” Trump bragged, “is that it said Trump was right.” WTHF is wrong with this so-called man? He is utterly devoid of any human-like attributes of sympathy. He is like the creature from Alien that is wholly focused on his own survival and will destroy anything that gets in his way. Except the movie is far more entertaining than watching Trump on Fox News. If you have the stomach for it, here’s the full tongue bathing …er… interview on Fox.

WTF? Trump-Fluffer Devin Nunes Tells Fox News that ‘It’s a Great Time to Go Out’

For several months now, Donald Trump has been downplaying the seriousness of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. He has said that it would miraculously disappear; that it was just one guy from China; that there was nothing to worry about; and that it was totally under control. The facts, medical experts, and common sense all tell us that none of that is (or was) true.

Donald Trump, Devin Nunes

Throughout the same period of time, Fox News has supported Trump’s reckless and self-serving negligence. While most American are taking precautions to avoid infecting themselves and others, Fox News is continuing to promote activities that will not only put people’s lives at risk, it will exacerbate the severity of the health crisis that is sweeping the nation and the world.

Another example of Fox’s irresponsibility was on display during a segment of Maria Bartiromo’s program. She interviewed the utterly corrupt Trump bootlicker, Rep. Devin Nunes, wherein he gave this ill-considered advice to Fox News viewers and the American people:

“I will just say, one of the things you can do — if you’re healthy, you and your family, it’s a great time to just go out, go to a local restaurant — Likely you can get in easily.”

That could not possibly be more ignorant and dangerous at this perilous time for our country. And it is completely contrary to what the healthcare professionals are saying. Even those who are leading Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force like renowned immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci:

“I think Americans should be prepared that they are going to have to hunker down significantly more than we as a country are doing.”

It appears that Nunes and Fox News are deliberately trying to get Americans killed. And they are doing it to advance the political interests of Trump. It has already been observed that his trivialization of this crisis was intended to help his reelection prospects. And these harmful remarks by Nunes come just one day after Fox and Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt told Fox News viewers that “It’s actually the safest time to fly.”

As if that weren’t enough, Trump himself tweeted this on Sunday morning:

So now the President is happily recounting his gathering of sycophants at the White House. Never mind that he is also contradicting the advice by doctors to engage in “social distancing,” something that Trump bizarrely tweeted on Saturday in all-caps.

Furthermore, there is significant risk of contracting the coronavirus by being in close proximity to Trump and his entourage. While he just announced that he tested negative for the virus, his record of rampant, pathological lying causes many people to have reasonable doubts that anything he says is true.

What’s more, it has just been reported that a third person has tested positive for COVID-19 who was a guest at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. That means that there are more confirmed cases of coronavirus at Mar-a-Lago than in seven states. Perhaps they should consider shutting it down. And then maybe the White House as well. You can’t be too safe.

Trump in a Panic Sweat Posts 13 Lie-Riddled Tweets About – Get This – Hillary’s Emails

There is nothing more telling than a Donald Trump Tweetstorm. It reveals what he’s most afraid of and what is consuming his fevered and demented imagination. So it shouldn’t be dismissed when he posts a flurry of thirteen tweets by the disreputable and dishonest StormTrumpers at Judicial Watch. Particularly when the content of those tweets are predominantly the ancient right-wing obsessions over Hillary Clinton’s emails. Are these people serious?

Donald Trump Sweating

Unfortunately, the conservative junkies who are still addicted to fables about Clinton’s emails are deadly serious. They are feeding a fetish that borders on being a psychotic compulsion. And they bring it up whenever they feel threatened by the onslaught of inconvenient facts that challenge their demented world view. And Trump is among those suffering from this manic neurosis.

The symptoms of Trump’s mental disorder were on full display Saturday morning. The thirteen retweets of Judicial Watch propaganda must have seemed like the perfect antidote to the realities in the news that were so unpleasant for him. He just lost another one of his unethical cabinet flunkies (a record breaking achievement), Alexander Acosta, due to his relationship with pedophile rapist Jeffrey Epstein. Of course, Trump had his own relationship with Epstein who he said was a terrific guy.

Trump is also weathering a storm of criticism due his policy of caging children in inhumane conditions. And he is dreading the upcoming congressional testimony of special counsel Robert Mueller. All of this is taking place as the 2020 presidential campaign is beginning with Trump losing in the polls to all of the top Democrats. Consequently, Trump, in a fit of sheer desperation, completes his re-tweetstorm with a comment of his own:

We are sadly witnessing the shameful spectacle of a president making explicit accusations of criminality about an honorable, lifelong public servant in law enforcement. Even worse, this is a charge that has been debunked repeatedly when Trump has made it in the past. Most recently Trump attacked Mueller on this during an “interview” (more of a tongue bath) with Fox News Trump-fluffer Maria Bartiromo in June:

“Mueller terminated them illegally. He terminated the emails, he terminated all of the stuff between Strzok and Page. Robert Mueller terminated their text messages together. He terminated them. They’re gone. And that’s illegal. That’s a crime.”

Setting aside the cognitive dysfunction that Trump thinks texts can be “terminated,” everything else in that comment is provably false. And Trump surely knew that his charges were false because they were refuted when he made the very same remarks last december:

In fact, this lie was shot down by the Inspector General of Trump’s own Justice Department. It was reviewed by fact checkers who unanimously concluded that it was false. And it was rated as Pants on Fire by PolitiFact, who wrote that:

“First, a new report from the Justice Department’s internal watchdog suggests the roughly 19,000 messages slipped through the cracks due to technical glitches with the FBI’s data-collection tool on Samsung devices, not because Strzok and Page went around the system.

“Second, perhaps most importantly, while the messages were initially not captured, they have since been recovered. Trump’s claim gives the false impression the texts are still unaccounted.”

Trump’s fear is obviously getting the better of him. It shows in his rambling, disoriented speeches, his glassy-eyed engagement with the press while his helicopter whirs in the background, and these rabid outbursts on Twitter.

In addition to the Mueller-related tweets, and the Hillary bashing, Trump also posted three tweets that comprised nearly half of Sean Hannity’s Hour of Lies on Friday night. His Twitter feed is becoming the Internet’s channel for Fox News reruns. Which Fox surely appreciates since they stopped posting on Twitter entirely last November. Trump is, in effect, the PR executive for Fox News. And Fox pays him handsomely for that with nauseatingly fawning tributes 24/7. It’s a mutually beneficial, albeit sick and dishonest, arrangement.
