Trump is So Scared of Losing the GOP Primary He’s Posting Anti-DeSantis Links to MSNBC’s Joy Reid

The 2024 presidential primaries are still almost a year away. But that hasn’t stopped Donald Trump from waging an all-out battle against what he considers to be his biggest obstacle to the Republican nomination, Ron DeSantis. And consistent with his battle strategies, he has lowered the bar for decency and honesty as he goes into attack mode.

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

No one will be surprised to learn that the acid-tongued Trump has attacked DeSantis in the most vile terms. He has taken a profoundly hostile approach to DeSantis, exhibiting his penchant for childish insults in a series of posts on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. In summary, Trump has implied that DeSantis is a gay pedophile who will terminate Social Security and deliver the GOP to establishment RINOs and Democrats.

SEE THIS: GOP Presidential Poll Reveals Why Ron DeSantis is the Only 2024 Opponent that Trump is Attacking

On Friday Trump demonstrated just how desperate he is to torpedo DeSantis before the Governor has even entered the race. Trump posted a a link to an article that revealed how poorly DeSantis is doing at garnering the endorsements of other republicans from his own state. But what makes this posting especially significant is that the article was published on the website of MSNBC host, Joy Reid. Trump’s post featured the article’s lede that said…

“Ron DeSantis’ D.C. charm offensive was a massive failure—Florida’s governor, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, may have been looking for a coronation when he met lawmakers in Washington. He got a clown show, instead.”

While all of that is unarguably true, it is rather bizarre that Trump chose Reid’s website as the source for the that opinion. Surely there are other conservative sources that opined the very same criticisms of DeSantis. But Trump was apparently to frantic too get out this “news” to bother with ascertaining the source.

There’s a reason that Trump is so hyper-focused on attacking DeSantis. At this point in the election cycle, DeSantis is his only plausible competition. So he’s determined to bring him down before he can get any traction. Trump knows that none of the other potential candidates (i.e. Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Greg Abbott, Asa Hutchinson, Larry Elder, etc.) currently pose any problem at all for him. So he’s laying off of them. In fact, he needs them in the race to weaken DeSantis’ strength as the leading anti-Trump candidate.

A recent poll by Monmouth University shows that Trump is well ahead of the GOP pack with 41% of respondents choosing Trump. Coming in second is DeSantis with 27%. However, a head-to-head race between Trump and DeSantis in the same poll was a virtual tie.

Consequently, While Trump is flailing away hysterically at DeSantis, he is literally welcoming other candidates into the race. Albeit, he does so in a patently passive-aggressive manner. When Haley announced her candidacy, Trump responded saying “I’m glad she’s running. I want her to follow her heart – even though she made a commitment that she would never run against who she called the greatest president of her lifetime.”

SEE THIS: Trump ‘Welcomes’ Nikki Haley Into the 2024 GOP Primary with a Furious Flurry of Feces Flinging

Trump knows that the more candidates in the GOP primary, the more the anti-Trump vote is diluted, and the better chance he has of winning a plurality. And Trump is so terrified of losing that he would even cite Joe Biden if the President bothered to criticize DeSantis. That’s not the behavior of a strong candidate or personality. It’s the behavior of whiny snowflake who’s frightened and desperate.

Trump is Running for President So He Can Appoint More People He Will Eventually Call Losers

Among the first notable lies that Donald Trump told was that he would always make appointments in his administration from among “all the best people” that he pretended to have personal relationships with. As it turned out, his appointments were notoriously incompetent, unqualified, and utterly unfit for the jobs to which Trump appointed them.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump

That assessment of Trump’s appointees is not just criticism from his political foes. Those are Trump’s own opinions of them. The long list of former Trump administration staffers that he has later trashed in the most brutal terms is a stark condemnation of his management skills, or lack thereof. Often he couldn’t recall even knowing the people at the highest levels of his team.

RELATED: Trump’s Ignorance of His Own Staff is Another Red Flag for Dementia

On Tuesday Trump lashed out again at a former aide. This time it was his former Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney. Trump must have seen Mulvaney on television saying something less than total adulation, so he posted the following comment on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social

“Since leaving Washington, I haven’t heard much about Liddle’ Mick Mulvaney, perhaps the dumbest person, along with John Bolton, working at the White House. He was ‘Acting’ Chief of Staff because I never would have named him to the permanent position. Merely a ‘backbencher,’ who once gave a news conference that was legendarily bad, he is now with CBS Fake News, and should be grateful to the man who made him ‘famous.’ This guy was uncharismatic, a born loser. No wonder they have No Ratings!”

You have to wonder why Trump repeatedly hired “the dumbest” people to serve in his White House. Perhaps he just wanted to make sure that he was the smartest person in the room, and that’s an exceptionally low bar. Not that he was wrong about Mulvaney being dumb and a loser. After all, he worked for the dumbest loser who ever occupied the White House. And Trump wasn’t the only one who criticized CBS for hiring Mulvaney after his government job ended.

SEE THIS: Stephen Colbert Hysterically Rips His CBS Bosses for Hiring Lying Trump Flunky Mick Mulvaney

Trump’s assertion that he only made Mulvaney an “Acting” Chief of Staff because he “never would have named him to the permanent position,” is a flat out lie. The reason Mulvaney was never officially named Chief of Staff is because Trump was afraid to seek his confirmation by the Senate.

Nevertheless, despite Trump’s be-liddling, Mulvaney was still Trump’s second longest serving Chief of Staff (one year, three months). His longest was Gen. John Kelly (one year, five months). His first chief, (Reince Priebus) and last (Mark Meadows), both served less than one year.

However, all of Trump’s chiefs have been dragged through the mud by Trump after they were summarily dumped. For instance, Trump said Gen. Kelly “was way over his head.” He called Meadows book “fake news.” And these are typical of the sort of the insults that Trump hurls at his former associates. He is a stridently vengeful person who is quick to hate anyone he deems insufficiently adoring. Some of his vile has been aimed at these former appointees…

  • John Bolton: “a disgruntled boring fool.”
  • James Mattis: “the world’s most overrated general.”
  • Jeff Sessions: “He’s not mentally qualified to be attorney general.”
  • Rex Tillerson: “was dumb as a rock.”
  • Bill Barr: “was a weak and pathetic RINO.”

To be sure, many of Trump’s former staffers also came to hold harshly negative opinions of him. And now Trump is asking voters to send him back to Washington where he can hire some more losers who think he’s an idiot. Of course, he is also running in order to avoid the legal consequences of his criminal activities. As for Mulvaney, he has previously characterized Trump in unflattering terms, even when he was trying to flatter him…

LOL: Trump Tells Fox News to Defend Itself in a Lawsuit Accusing Them of Lying to Lie Even More

This week the billion dollar defamation lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems is schedule to begin. It was delayed for one day with rumors that Fox was pleading to settle, which, at this point, appears unlikely.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Fox News, Lies

Hopefully Dominion will stand firm to make sure that Fox News, its executives and hosts are held accountable for the harm they’ve done to the nation. Most legal analysts agree that Dominion’s case is strong, and there have already been significant pretrial rulings in Dominion’s favor.

RELATED: Fox News Caught Coddling Conspiracy Crackpots for Fear of Losing Audience and Advertisers – Again!

In the meantime, Fox News is also getting some legal advice from the primary source of all their legal problems, Donald Trump. In a late-night frenzy, Trump posted a comment to his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, offering what he thinks would be the best course for Fox News to take in their defense. His 2:39am comment raged that…

“IF FOX WOULD FINALLY ADMIT THAT THERE WAS LARGE SCALE CHEATING & IRREGULARITIES IN THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD THING FOR THEM, & FOR AMERICA, THE CASE AGAINST THEM, WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE EXISTED AT ALL, WOULD BE GREATLY WEAKENED. BACK UP THOSE PATRIOTS AT FOX INSTEAD OF THROWING THEM UNDER THE BUS – & THEY ARE RIGHT! THERE IS SOOO MUCH PROOF, LIKE MASS BALLOT STUFFING CAUGHT ON GOVERNMENT CAMERAS, FBI COLLUDING WITH TWITTER & FACEBOOK, STATE LEGISLATURES NOT USED, etc.”

That’s great advice. Fox News should take Trump up on it. After all, what better defense could they have for deliberate and defamatory lying than to lie even harder? Maybe Trump would like to offer to testify on Fox’s behalf and bring along some of that “proof” that he says there is so much of, but which he has failed to produce in more than two and half years.

After getting a couple of hours of nervous sleep, Trump elaborated on his comments the next morning, saying that…

“FOX NEWS IS IN BIG TROUBLE IF THEY DO NOT EXPOSE THE TRUTH ON CHEATING IN THE 2020 ELECTION. THEY SHOULD DO WHAT’S RIGHT FOR AMERICA. WHEN RUPERT MURDOCH SAYS THAT THERE WAS NO CHEATING IN LIGHT OF THE MASSIVE PROOF THAT WAS THERE, IT IS RIDICULOUS AND VERY HARMFUL TO THE FOX CASE. PERHAPS HE SHOULD SAY THAT ‘HE JUST DIDN’T KNOW,’ BUT THAT IS HARD TO BELIEVE. RUPERT, JUST TELL THE TRUTH AND GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. THE ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLLEN…YOU KNOW IT, & SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE!”

Trump is absolutely right in saying that “FOX NEWS IS IN BIG TROUBLE IF THEY DO NOT EXPOSE THE TRUTH.” The problem is that Trump is still peddling the “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “RIGGED AND STOLLEN” (sic). He doesn’t reveal what “good things will happen” if Murdoch were to dive deeper into Trump’s dishonesty. But this isn’t the first time that he has prevailed on Murdoch to further spread his election fraud lies.

RELATED: Trump Blasts Rupert Murdoch for ‘Throwing His Anchors Under the Table’ in Election Fraud Lawsuit

What’s more, Trump’s assertion that everyone knows that the election was “stollen” is in stark contrast to every poll on the subject. A recent poll shows that “nearly two-thirds of Americans (65 percent) think Fox News should be held accountable after … spread[ing] false information about the 2020 presidential election.” And the only people who still buy Fox’s lies are those who are already fully indoctrinated Fox and Trump cult disciples.

SEE THIS: IT’S A CULT: Most Fox News Viewers Are Still Loyal After Dominion Lawsuit Discloses Their Lies

To make matters worse for Fox, they just bought a full page ad in the New York Times (Really? The NYT?) claiming that Fox is the “most trusted” news network. That’s rich coming so soon after the Dominion lawsuit revealed them to have been outright lying to their viewers.

However, the ad itself is a lie. It is reporting a YouGov “Profiles” poll, which is not a public opinion survey. It’s a marketing service that caters to businesses seeking information about their own customer base. Note that in an actual, unbiased YouGov survey Fox News came in second to last in trust. Just above Breitbart News. And that tells us all we need to know.

Putin Puppet Tucker Carlson Spews Russian Propaganda in Defense of the Intelligence Leaker

This week it was discovered that highly sensitive, classified, United States military documents had been illegally published online. Within a few days the “leaker” was identified as Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Vladimir Putin, Tucker Carlson

Some of the documents contained information related to the Russian war against Ukraine and could harm the war efforts against the Russian aggressors. So naturally, Fox News and the pro-Putin wing of the Republican Party were all in favor of the intelligence hack and immediately set out to defend the traitor who leaked the documents. Even Donald Trump weighed in with his inane theory that President Biden was the leaker…

SEE THIS: Trump Floats the Stupidest Lie About Biden and Intel Documents: ‘Maybe He Was the Leaker’

Leading the parade of anti-Americans cheering on the illegal breach of national security, was Fox News Senior Putin Propagandist, Tucker Carlson. On his Thursday night episode, Carlson – who has explicitly declared that he’s rooting for Russia in its criminal war against Ukraine – embarked on a wholly fictitious account of what was in the leaked documents. And, of course, his fabricated version made the U.S. out to be the villains…

“Briefing slides had begun to show up, among other places, on Twitter. And the slides show that this is not Ukraine’s war. It’s our war. The United States is a direct combatant in a war against Russia. As we speak, American soldiers are fighting Russian soldiers. So this is not a regional conflict in Eastern Europe. […]

“The second thing we learned from these slides is that despite direct U.S. involvement, Ukraine is, in fact, losing the war. Seven Ukrainians are being killed for every Russian. Ukrainian air defenses have been utterly degraded. Ukraine is losing. The Biden administration is perfectly aware of this. They’re panicked about it. But they have lied about this fact to the public.”

First of all, There are exactly zero American soldiers fighting in Ukraine. Carlson is likely cooking up this lie from reports that there are some military personnel stationed at the U.S. embassy, a customary assignment for all foreign ministries. They are not combatants. But Carlson’s lie could give Putin an excuse to target Americans and American assets in Ukraine and around the world. And notice that his own colleague, Fox News White House correspondent, Jacqui Heinrich, debunked him, reporting that “there is a small military presence at the Embassy.”

Secondly, Carlson’s assertion that Ukraine is losing the war is completely made up. His numbers were pulled straight out of his asinine prejudices against Ukraine and America. Every military analyst – with the exception of those beholden to Putin – agree that Russia has been getting beaten by almost every measure. The only thing that Russia has succeeded in is slaughtering civilians and committing war crimes.

Carlson went on to call for the arrest of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who he baselessly accused of lying to the Senate. He also introduced his own conspiracy theory that the Washington Post and the New York Times colluded with the Biden administration, using “illegal surveillance techniques to identify” the leaker. Actually, it was “billing records of an Internet social media platform and interviews with another user” that helped the FBI identify the suspect.

Interestingly, at his arraignment Teixeira was charged with “unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents.” Which is essentially the same crime that Trump committed when he stole documents from the White House and hoarded them at Mar-a-Lago.

All of Carlson’s raving in this extended and tedious harangue was in defense of Russia and the suspect now in custody who stole classified information and published it online. But worse, it is pure unadulterated propaganda on behalf of Carlson’s masters in the Kremlin. It is emblematic of the anti-American stance taken by Carlson, Fox News, and the GOP. It is aiding and abetting America’s enemies. And it borders on treason.

Trump Floats the Stupidest Lie About Biden and Intel Documents: ‘Maybe He Was the Leaker’

Recent reports of the leaking of intelligence documents online have caused serious concerns over the security of classified information. And as with nearly every matter of concern in politics, Donald Trump can be counted on to make things, not just worse, but bizarre.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump WTF

The concerns over classified documents were elevated to unprecedented levels when it was revealed that Trump had stolen hundreds of such documents and hoarded them at his Palm Beach hotel/home. Even after multiple demands, and a subpoena, Trump refused to return the documents and lied about having them.

RELATGED: On Fox News Trump Confesses that He Stole Classified Documents, Despite Hannity’s Coaching

The latest leaking scandal is completely unrelated to Trump’s document hoarding at Mar-a-Lago, but that doesn’t stop him from from drawing a preposterous parallel. On his pitifully failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, Trump posted a comment that included an entirely baseless allegation directed at President Biden…

“The worst leaks of ‘Intelligence’ in U.S. history. Our Country has never been so embarrassed, and yet they come after ‘Trump’ on their old and tired Boxes Hoax. The Special “Prosecutor” should investigate Biden, maybe he was the leaker? Nothing would surprise me about this group!”

There is a massive quantity of malarkey in that brief outburst. First of all, there have been plenty of worse intelligence leaks in U.S. history. But given his notorious ignorance, we can’t expect Trump to have any knowledge of history. In Trump’s diseased mind, whatever he is obsessing over at the moment are always atrocities at “levels that have never been seen before.”

What’s more, Trump seems to think that law enforcement isn’t capable of simultaneously investigating this new leak and his own criminal theft and obstruction of justice – what he dismissively calls the “Boxes Hoax”. And it’s cute that the only words for which he uses quotes are “intelligence” and “Trump,” as if he’s using those words sarcastically.

However, the most ridiculous part of his comment was where he accuses President Biden of being the leaker. There is, of course, no hint of that having any connection to reality. It is merely a wild, and typically infantile, swing by Trump in a futile attempt to smear the President and deflect attention from his own crimes.

Furthermore, Trump’s accusation doesn’t even make sense. He begins by saying that “Our country has never been so embarrassed.” So why would Biden leak information that could only result in embarrassment to the nation generally, and to him personally? Trump doesn’t bother to explain his “logic,” or lack thereof.

For the record, authorities have already identified a suspect in the latest leaking episode. He is a 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. And since the documents contain information that could harm the war effort in Ukraine, it’s more likely that the leaker was aligned politically with Trump and the pro-Putin faction of the Republican Party.

Coincidentally (or perhaps not), Trump’s charge comes the day after the Justice Department revealed that Trump is being investigated for possibly showing classified materials to random visitors to Mar-a-Lago…

“Multiple witnesses were asked whether former President Donald Trump showed them a map containing classified information that he took from the White House when he left office, as part of a U.S. Justice Department investigation.”

The potential that Trump proudly showed off the classified documents that he stole has always been suspected by intelligence experts. He never does anything that can’t produce an immediate benefit for his finances or his image. And as this latest comment proves, Trump never misses an opportunity to viciously and baselessly malign his enemies. But it also proves that he is spectacularly stupid in the way that he does that.

Fox News Wonders What Horror Biden Is Up To By Communicating With Young People On Social Media

The Biden administration is reported to be considering expanding its outreach to younger Americans by holding briefings for popular social media personalities, known as “influencers.” These briefings would be separate from those held in the White House Briefing Room for conventional media.

Fox News, Joe Biden

Naturally, any new idea floated by President Biden or the Democratic Party is immediately pounced on by Fox News as something nefarious with an ulterior motive that Fox portrays as sinister. In this case, Fox News is very concerned that Biden is trying to communicate effectively with young people, Something that Fox News is particularly bad at.

RELATED: Fox News Says Biden is ‘Compromised’ Because He Revoked Trump’s Non-Existent Ban on TikTok

To counter this malicious method of messaging, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum invited the Republican governor if Iowa, Kim Reynolds, to discuss the rumors. MacCallum is regarded by Fox to be one of their alleged “news” reporters. That has never been true, and she demonstrates why in this exchange with the Governor…

MacCallum: I think a lot of viewers, a lot of people, a lot of adults, don’t really understand the influence of TicTok. These folks on TikTok have huge followings. They tell people what they should eat, what they should buy, what they should wear, and more powerfully I think in the midterms, who they should vote for and what issues should be important to them regardless of any fact check going on what they’re saying. So how seriously do you take this is if the Biden team decides to really implement, use these people in 2024?
Reynolds: I think the hypocrisy that continues out of the Biden administration, and with Democrats across this country, is just ridiculous.

Let’s set aside Reynolds’ response that totally avoids the question in order to fling the word “hypocrisy” around without any relationship to the subject. MacCallum’s concerns about social media “influencers” sound awfully familiar. Can you think of any other media enterprise that tells people how they should eat, dress, and vote?

If you said “Fox News,” congratulations. You’re not brain dead. Fox News also has a huge following (although mostly seniors), and regularly complains about what they call “woke” companies that you should refrain from patronizing. For instance, you must not eat M&Ms, or drink Bud Light, or wear Nikes, or visit Disneyland. And they spend 90% of their airtime advising their glassy-eyed audience to vote only for certified conservative Republicans.

Fox also tells their viewers what issues are important, or by omission, which are not. Recently Fox News buried the story of the Texas judge who ruled against the FDA approval of the abortion pill. From April 7 through 10, Fox provided all of 27 minutes to the story, while MSNBC and CNN each had seven hours of reporting. Likewise, Fox News minimally reported on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of undisclosed gifts from a right-wing billionaire.

RELATED: Fox News Blacks Out Story of Clarence Thomas Secretly Taking Luxury Gifts From GOP Billionaire

The reports that the Biden White House is planning on having dedicated briefings for social media influencers are greatly exaggerated. White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre declined to confirm any such plans. But she did note that, informally, it’s “something that we do all the time, from the President on down, is talk to influencers and try to meet the American people where they are to reach them in a different way.” As examples, there were such briefings last year on the war in Ukraine, and on the Inflation Reduction Act.

There are good reasons to implement an outreach program that caters to social media. Studies show that “Nearly 40% of Gen Z prefers TikTok and Instagram over Google Search, according to Google’s own internal data.” And it makes sense to try to reach citizens where they actually are. And for younger citizens who are wary of mainstream media, that’s on platforms like TikTok. But, not surprisingly, that’s too difficult a concept for the fogies on Fox to grasp. So they condemn it. Even though Donald Trump has his own pitifully failing social media platform.

WTF? Flaming Liar Tucker Carlson Yaps that Gavin Newsom’s ‘Words Have No Connection to Reality’

The past few weeks have been among the most devastating for Fox News as damning revelations about the flagrant dishonesty at the ultra-rightist network have been publicly exposed. Private internal communications by Fox News executives and hosts were revealed in the course of the billion dollar defamation lawsuit against Fox by Dominion Voting systems.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

Perhaps the most damaging disclosures were those wherein Fox’s top primetime host, Tucker Carlson, was found to be a shameless liar who placed his greed and ratings above his obligation to be truthful. The texts and emails that Dominion acquired showed that Carlson, and many of his Fox colleagues, presented themselves to their glassy-eyed viewers as unflinchingly loyal supporters of Donald Trump, while revealing their “passionate hatred” for him privately.

RELATED: In Dominion v Fox News, Network Cries ‘We Can’t Make People Think We’ve Turned Against Trump’

The evidence that Fox News deliberately defamed Dominion is rock solid. They knew that they were lying on the air all along, but did so anyway out of fear of losing viewers. Sean Hannity even admitted that he “did not believe [Trump’s election fraud lies] for one second,” while insisting to his audience that the alleged fraud was real and rampant.

All of this makes Carlson’s commentary Monday night especially disgusting. In his opening monologue, Carlson spent nearly twenty minutes maligning California Governor Gavin Newsom, who Carlson thinks could be the next Democratic candidate for president in 2024. His rant was riddled with typical right-wing lunacies such as his warped explanation for the Democrats nominating Joe Biden in 2020 because “the anti-White party picked the White guy.” Then he absurdly theorized that in 2024…

“[Y]ou would assume the party, the Democratic Party, would replace Joe Biden with someone who embodies their highest values. You imagine a trans-Black woman with a background in corporate H.R. or a Latinx drag queen with purple hair and lots of face piercings.”

A more plausible assumption would be that Carlson is abusing some pretty powerful hallucinogenic drugs. Either that or he’s eaten some rotten frozen fish sticks. Either of those mind altering experiences would still come up short in explaining what he said next. Following a clip of Newsom criticizing Ron DeSantis who, just days after the mass shooting in Nashville, signed a bill that allows people to carry concealed guns without a permit, Carlson unleashed this crackpottery…

“This is what to happens with everything about you, from your physical features to your very soul, has been altered by cosmetic surgery. Just like Joe Biden, but younger. You’ll say literally anything. Words have no connection to reality. There’s no expectation you’re describing something real. You’re merely using words as a tool to gain power. That’s terrifying. It’s dishonest to its core.”

So Carlson thinks that Newsom has had cosmetic surgery on his soul? Setting aside the idiocy of that, Carlson’s criticisms of Newsom sound strikingly familiar. That’s because they are precisely the criticisms that have been leveled at Carlson for most of his career on television. The Dominion lawsuit has proved that his “Words have no connection to reality.” And as for having “no expectation [Carlson is] describing something real,” just refer to what his own Fox News lawyers said about him in a previous lawsuit in his defense…

“[Carlson] cannot be understood to have been stating facts, but instead that he was delivering an opinion using hyperbole for effect. [and that] given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’ about the statements he makes.”

SEE ALSO: Fox News Court Ruling: No ‘Reasonable Viewer’ Takes Tucker Carlson Seriously

In other words, Carlson is a notorious liar whose commentaries can be dismissed out of hand as the ravings of an unhinged, warbling whack job. And yet he has the gall to project his glaring character flaws onto others with no coherent connection. Which ironically validates what he said about Newsom, except directing it instead to himself: Carlson is “merely using words as a tool to gain power. That’s terrifying. It’s dishonest to its core.” Indeed!

HUH? Trump Attorney Says ‘Criticisms of the Family [of D.A. and Judge] Were Not Something Personal’

Among the many mental deficiencies of Donald Trump is his notoriously atrocious ability (or lack thereof) to procure competent legal representation. In fact, several of his attorneys (i.e. Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis) have already had their licenses suspended and/or been reprimanded due to their flagrantly unethical behavior on Trump’s behalf and at his direction.

Donald Trump, Godfather

The record for the Trump legal team is one of pitiful and repeated failure. Following the 2020 presidential election Trump and his allies lost more than 60 lawsuits seeking to overturn the results of the election based on wholly unfounded claims of voter fraud.

Trump’s legal team has lost cases against his political foes, such one naming Hillary Clinton and nearly fifty other people, wherein the judge admonished the lawyers for “deliberate disregard for the truth.” Then there was the time that his lawyers were sanctioned by the court for making “frivolous filings.” And more recently, Trump’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, actually made the case against him on national television.

SEE THIS: Trump’s Attorney Admits that Trump Lied About Making Hush Money Payments to Stormy Daniels

On Sunday morning, one of Trump’s lawyers, the ironically named Jim Trusty, appeared on ABC’s “This Week” to preach his innocence in all things. During the interview with Jonathan Karl, Trusty managed to mangle the meaning of what constitutes a “personal” attack.

Karl: We also saw the former president go after, again, in personal terms, the judge in this case. Going after not just the judge, but his wife, and even his daughter. We heard from another member of the legal team, from Joe Tacopina, saying that he didn’t think the judge is biased. Trump obviously does. Who’s right about this? Do you think this is an impartial judge or not?
Trusty: I don’t have any experience with this judge. And again, my practice as somebody who’s been in the criminal justice lane for about 35, 36 years is to not, you know, jump onto any bandwagon when it comes to criticizing. I think the criticisms of the family were not something personal. It was pointing out that they have a bias, that they have a political interest that is contrary to President Trump’s. […] I think there’s gonna be some very well placed motions to dismiss based on the legal frailties of this kind of mental gymnastics indictment that Alvin Bragg is trying to piece together.

So after responding that he customarily doesn’t criticize judges, Trusty promptly criticizes the judge. And his basis for the criticism is profoundly absurd. How can maligning a judge, his wife, and his daughter, not be regarded as personal? Where is the legal argument in that criticism?

For the record, the allegedly non-personal attacks made by Trump – that have resulted in numerous death threats – included calling the Manhattan district Attorney, Alvin Bragg, a “racist” And that was only the beginning. In just the past week Trump has lashed out at Bragg repeatedly on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, with references such as…

  • “Radical Left Lunatics, Maniacs, and Perverts had me Indicted and ARRESTED for no reason whatsoever.”
  • “THE HIGHLY PARTISAN JUDGE & HIS FAMILY ARE WELL KNOWN TRUMP HATERS.”
  • “Biden and his ‘people’ knew all about the Radical Left, Soros backed D.A. (Bragg) going after ‘Trump.’ They pushed the Racist D.A.”
  • “The Corrupt D.A. has no case. […] and a Trump Hating Judge, hand selected by the Soros backed D.A. (he must be changed!).”

Apparently, Trusty believes that insults such as “racist,” “lunatic,” “pervert,’ “hater,” “corrupt,” etc., are appropriate legal terms and not the least bit personal. However, with that definition of what is personal, he sounds more like the Corleone family in “The Godfather” saying about an imminent “hit” that “It’s not personal…It’s strictly business.” And so far as Trump is concerned, insults and threats and other manner of personal invective, is precisely how he has done “business” his entire life.

Fox News on Tennessee GOP Expelling Black Reps: It’s Wrong to Storm Government Buildings (?)

Republicans in the state of Tennessee have a long held pride in their prejudices and radically extreme conservatism. Unfortunately for them, with their latest political pothole Republicans have only succeeded in cementing their reputation as unabashed racists and aspiring totalitarians. On Thursday the GOP-dominated Tennessee House expelled two Black representatives for allegedly breaching the “decorum” of the House when they joined with citizens protesting in support of gun safety reforms following a mass shooting in Nashville that took the lives of six people, including three children.

Let’s just set aside for the moment that the Tennessee Republicans gave a White representative a pass for doing the exact same things as the Black Reps who were expelled. The GOP opposition to common sense measures aimed at reducing gun violence is starkly contrary to the positions of most Americans.

In response to the grotesque assault on democracy by the Tennessee GOP, Fox News defended them by saying that it wasn’t undemocratic at all because the expelled lawmakers could still run for reelection. That’s an argument that is devoid of any coherent logic. By expelling the two Democrats, the Republicans stole the votes of the majority of citizens who elected them. Running again doesn’t erase that. But the exchange by the co-hosts of Fox and friends got even worse…

Correspondent Alexandria Hoff: The action was not undemocratic because the representatives are still able to be voted back into office.
Brian Kilmeade: Right, they’re out for now
Ainsley Earhardt: Sending a message not to storm our government buildings, right?

WTHolyF? So Fox News is saying that the Tennessee GOP were right to expel two Black lawmakers because they were just “Sending a message not to storm our government buildings.” And with that irony is now officially deceased and buried. These are the same people who have been defending the January 6th insurrectionists for the past two years by arguing that they were merely peaceful tourists on an ordinary visit to the Capitol. They have been arguing for the exoneration and release of the rioters who were arrested and convicted of crimes ranging from criminal trespass to seditious conspiracy. And many of them pleaded guilty.

Someone should ask Fox News if the Republicans in Congress who supported the insurrection should be expelled. We could start with Josh Hawley and Marjorie Taylor Greene. The StormTrumpers caused millions of dollars of damage to the Congress and injured more than 140 law enforcement officers. The Tennessee Three caused no damage or injuries to anything but the tender sensitivities of the bigoted Republicans.

For the record, Tennessee has the tenth most fatalities by guns in the nation (21.3 per 100k). For comparison California and New York, which have among the nation’s strictest gun laws, rank at #44 (8.5 per 100k) and #46 (5.3 per 100k), respectively. These stats include fatalities due to suicide, which should not be dismissed out of hand. However, when only murders are counted, the rankings are nearly identical.

This is the record death and tragedy that Republicans and Fox News are celebrating. And they are painfully blind to the hypocrisy of their callous justifications. Not that it matters. Republicans are only interested in keeping their audience riled up, and the donations from the NRA flowing. And Fox News is not now – and never has been – the least bit interested in honest reporting or ethical journalism. Which why they are currently being sued for billions of dollars for their lies and defamation.

Fox News Whines that ‘You’re Putting Donald Trump’s Life in Danger’ By Trying Him for His Crimes

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s arraignment on 34 felony counts of tax fraud, financial malfeasance, and election interference, Fox News has taken a firehose approach to defending their poor, mistreated victim of persecution by the “Radical Left, Soros-sponsored communists” of the Democratic Party. Their pleadings on Trump’s behalf have literally portrayed him as a Christ-like figure on the cross of political prejudice.

Jesse Watters, Fox News

In the hours following Trump’s arrest and court appearance in Manhattan, Fox News has presented a parade of Trump sycophants and apologists to deny that he’s done anything remotely wrong. Never mind the abundance of accumulated documentary evidence and witness testimony. Trump himself was pitifully incapable of offering up his own defense in the address that he delivered upon his return to his Mar-a-Lago bunker. He rambled aimlessly about everything from the January 6th insurrection, to his theft of classified documents, to Hunter Biden.

Among the twisted takes that were televised on Fox News was one by Jesse Watters, co-host of “The Five.” What Watters was terribly disturbed by was the wholly delusional fear that the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, was putting Trump’s life in danger by charging him and setting in motion the schedule for his trial. Watters wailed that…

“You’re putting Donald Trump’s life in danger. You’re setting him up and advertising the entire world, the former president of the United States, the Republican nominee for the presidency, is going to be at this location, at this time, on this date. And you’ve got towers, and you’ve got windows. You think that’s good for this country, to put a man like that in a certain location — December 4. And then what if it goes to trial? He has to be there every day. You think the Secret Service wants that? That is dangerous. And he is playing a dangerous game.”

WHUT? Has Watters been submerged in a bilge water tank for the last seven years? Donald Trump is constantly publicizing his whereabouts at precise locations and times. He is either serving as maître d’ at his Palm Beach hotel/home, sermonizing at his cult rallies, or otherwise exalting himself at some public event where his presence is widely advertised.

The audiences at these affairs are often not subject to any security checks. And they are populated by gun-loving, conspiracy crackpots who might want to make a martyr of their messiah, or they may think he’s a “Deep State” body double who is impersonating Trump. So it could be argued that he’s putting his own life in danger.

What’s worse is that Watters is propagating a bizarrely illogical premise that no criminal defendant can ever by put on trial because the locations, dates, and times of the hearings would be known by anyone wishing to do them harm. Watters thinks the Secret Service would have more of a problem with guarding Trump in a courthouse than they do guarding him at a Mar-a-Lago wedding or a McDonalds.

This is the depths to which Fox News will sink to invent controversaries where none actually exist. It’s an insult to the intelligence of their viewers, even if it does accurately predict the idiocies that they will believe. It is certainly no more idiotic than most everything else that Fox News has aired since Trump’s indictment. For instance…
