Trump Has a Manic Meltdown Over His Sycophant Lindsey Graham Disagreeing with Him on Abortion

On Monday Donald Trump delivered what he claimed was his official position on abortion. But his five minute video was more a display of cowardice than anything else as he whined and waffled, attempting to walk a fine line wherein he wouldn’t offend anyone who might disagree with whatever stance he was pretending take.

Needless to say, Trump ended up offending everyone. His right-wing supporters were appalled that he didn’t take a stronger position on banning all abortions. Independents were disgusted by his craven weakness as he sought to avoid controversy by leaving the matter of human rights up to the individual states. And the majority of Americans, who support reproductive freedom, recognized his speech as offering the same old lies he has spewed for years.

In his video, Trump bragged that he was responsible for the overturning of Roe vs Wade. Then he lied that “all legal experts” wanted the Supreme Court to overturn the 50 year old precedent. He lied about Democrats supporting abortion after birth. He lied about his own backing of abortion bans, which he supports in states that have already passed bills imposing them. In short, Trump did what he always does – LIES!

Among those finding fault with Trump’s abortion decree was his faithful, slobbering sycophant, Lindsey Graham. Graham posted a comment on Twitter that took issue with Trump’s failure to stake an actual position. “I respectfully disagree with President Trump’s statement that abortion is a states’ rights issue,” Graham began. He added that “I will continue to advocate that there should be a national minimum standard limiting abortion.”

Well, that was enough to trigger another petulant Trump temper tantrum. He posted at least six rage-fueled comments on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, blasting Graham for having the audacity to disagree with him, even marginally. Trump ranted that

“Senator Lindsey Graham should spend more time focusing on all of the many people being killed because of our now non-existent Border, and the millions of people dying in senseless, never-ending Wars that he constantly favors and promotes, and should spend less time on taking away our Great Roe v. Wade Victory of sending a complicated and controversial Issue back to the States where, according to Highly Respected Legal Scholars on both sides, it belongs. The Democrats are thrilled with Lindsey.”

And that

“Lindsey Graham and Marjorie Dannenfelser of Susan B. Anthony that were “hardliners”, one day after the Victory, were gone and of absolutely no help.” […] “We cannot let our Country suffer any further damage by losing Elections on an issue that should always have been decided by the States, and now will be!”

And that

“Senator Lindsey Graham is doing a great disservice to the Republican Party, and to our Country.” […] “Many Good Republicans lost Elections because of this Issue, and people like Lindsey Graham, that are unrelenting, are handing Democrats their dream of the House, Senate, and perhaps even the Presidency.”

And that

“I blame myself for Lindsey Graham, because the only reason he won in the Great State of South Carolina is because I Endorsed him!”

And that

“Senator Lindsey Graham and Marjorie Dannenfelser should study the 10th Amendment and States’ Rights. When they do, they should proudly get on with helping Republicans to WIN ELECTIONS, rather than making it impossible for them to do so!”

And that

“Lindsey Graham, started saying, ‘No, let’s go back to the Federal Government with 0 weeks.'”

It’s surprising that Trump actually accepted the blame for something for once. But more to the point, note that the common thread in all of these attacks is Trump’s concern that support for abortion bans will harm the electoral prospects of Trump and other Republicans. He’s actually right about that. In recent elections, voters have punished Republicans for failing to support women’s rights and health. But trump’s decision to put politics over principles is repulsive. Although it is consistent with the self-serving amorality of the Republican Party.

Also notable is that no one is ever served by supporting Donald Trump. He has no sense of loyalty to anyone but himself. There is no one in MAGA world who has been more pathetically subservient to Trump than Graham. It’s almost as if Trump has evidence of some sort of heinous crime that he is blackmailing Graham with. Or perhaps Graham is just under the spell of Trump’s wicked sorcery.

But despite Graham’s groveling, Trump still demonstrates that even a consummate bootlicker like Graham will be ruthlessly trashed for daring to have an opinion of his own. And that ought to be the lesson that all Trump supporters take away from this affair. Kowtow at your own risk. But recognize that you’re in a cult and Dear Leader Trump is your master.
