This will just be a short heads up about the sort of people that populate the Fox News community web site, Fox Nation. In a posting linked to Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post, Fox Nation reported that “A DC cop who worked as a motorcycle escort for the first family has allegedly threatened to shoot Michelle Obama.”
The officer has been transferred to administrative duties pending investigation. But the denizens of Fox Nation couldn’t be more pleased by the prospect of the First Lady being murdered. They used the rating system on the site to describe this story as “funny” (“inspiring” came in second).
That pretty much tells us all we need to know about the Fox Nationalists. And let’s not forget that Fox News maintains this site for these miscreants knowing the sort of vitriol that is commonly expressed. Since this is hardly a new phenomenon, it can only be concluded that Fox News deliberately encourages such hateful and violent discourse.
This is way over the top. Maybe we can get that TV preacher, his name escapes me, to pray(not that I believe it ever works) they all get cancer!!!
I have not seen the video, and if Fox news said it there would be some video, to prove this report. However, your statement here, wishing that people get cancer is documented.

I just clicked on the link you posted and hit page down once and the rating sitting on the left side of the page in a large sort of a shield shape gray and light orange graphic shows in small font “The Nation says this post is” and then below in larger font “Funny”. It could be easy to miss if you are looking for this inside of the text of the article. It’s under the story.

This is very sad and makes me wonder how the US can be so progressive on the one hand and then so incredibly neanderthal at others. Apart from the moral and humanity issues involved here, isn’t racial vilification, hate crimes and incitement to violence illegal in your country? If so, why is this website allowed to function? Our Right to free speech allows us to express ourselves. We do have hate crime laws and during the investigation it will be determined if this policeman actually said it and if Fox news actually reported it in this manner.
For myself, I believe a person should be able to say whatever they want unless it drives a mob to commit crimes without some intent on restoring order. Consider that this country was founded on what could have been considered a mob committing treason against England. That group intended to bring order and peace to a new nation rather than remaining as a colony under a King that seemed not to care about them.
If our government wants to remain as it is – it too will need to care about the people and allow us to have freedom and liberty to pursue happiness, and not tax us so that the lazy and those without ambition can have the same benefits as those who work, and try to make their lives better.
The Republican Party of the USA has deteriorated to the level of a playground bully. They need to be taken out back of the woodshed! Roberta, on those few occasions when someone on the left does or says something as hateful as this, it IS reported. The reason you don’t see it as much is that IT DOESN’T HAPPEN AS MUCH! This kind of vitriol is so common on the right, it doesn’t even get reported on as much as it should. It’s so common, it’s barely considered “news” any more; it’s considered a “dog bites man” story. When it happens on the left, it’s a “man bites dog” story.
It’s not common, it’s only ‘reported’ to make it common. We have very few journalists anymore that just write the who, what, when and where, and sometimes why and just report the facts. So many don’t know what facts are if it bite them on the behind. I check out anything I read or hear before I repeat it. It is what I feel is my responsibility as a human being. If I can, I prefer to go to the source. It’s so scary to me that so many responses on here were just like someone picking up a gun and running with it, without any idea what they were after. I have more faith in my fellow Americans than what it appears to me most people do. Any promotion of this hate stuff is pure unresponsibile and childlike. Except my grandchildren would get a huge dressing down if they responded like this. I KNOW they have been taught better. People are people and one of the greatest things about this country is the freedoms we enjoy. To abuse those freedoms with irresponsibilty, to me is treason.
