Tucker Carlson Explains Why He’s in Moscow Sucking Up to His BFF Vladimir Putin

This week it was discovered that former Fox News Trump-fluffer, Tucker Carlson, is in Moscow, reportedly to interview the Russian dictator and MAGA hero, Vladimir Putin. It is not especially surprising that Carlson would travel to a country where journalists are routinely arrested or shoved out of windows. Although, that’s not something that he would have to worry about, because he can hardly be described as a journalist.

Furthermore, Carlson is a slobbering sycophant of Putin and has not been shy about about saying so. So it’s unlikely that he would stir the Kremlin’s wrath while he’s there. In fact, Carlson has literally bragged about his support for Russia over America and its allies, saying “Why do I care about what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And why shouldn’t I root for Russia, because I am.”

Now Carlson has posted a video wherein he seeks to explain the reasons for his pilgrimage to Putinland. True to form, it’s a self-serving four minutes of blatant lies and propaganda. The crux of his message (video below) asserts that…

“Two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what’s happening in this region. […] No one has told them the truth. Their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers.”

That’s actually true, so long as Carlson is referring to himself and his flagrant dishonesty as revealed in his own communications that were disclosed during the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit against Fox News. Those lies cost Fox News $787 million. In general, however, Carlson is just insulting the American people who he apparently believes are ignorant lemmings being led around by pseudo-journalists like himself. Which is also true, so long as he’s referring to Fox News viewers and Trump’s MAGA cult.

Carlson then complains that American media reports on Ukraine have been “pep sessions” and propaganda for Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Then he asserts that “not a single western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin.” That’s actually not true.

While Putin does not often make himself available to western media that he doesn’t control, there have been a few notable exceptions. For instance, NBC News interviewed Putin on June 14, 2021. Financial Times interviewed Putin on July 5, 2019. Megyn Kelly interviewed Putin, March 10, 2018.

The notion that Carlson is the guy to set the American people straight on Putin and his intentions in Ukraine, and more broadly, Eastern Europe and the World, is preposterous. While he yammers about propaganda in the Western press, he leaves out the fact that he is one of its foremost agents of “alternative facts.” And he wouldn’t be allowed entry to Russia, much less an interview with Putin, if they didn’t already know that it would be a pusillanimous puff piece. After all, that’s pretty much all Carlson has ever produced in the past. For example…

It will be exhilarating to see how the pop icon/CIA operative manages to lead her “Deep State” Kansas City Chiefs to victory over the curiously MAGA approved San Francisco 49ers of Commie-fornia.

Donald Trump, Insane, Straight Jacket

Among the annual Super Bowl traditions is one that has been in effect for less than twenty years. So it is something less than a timeless institution. It’s the pre-game interview of the President of the United States. These interviews have typically been more entertaining than newsworthy. While they can potentially draw a large audience, the viewers are often more interested in beers and barbeque than political banter.

This year President Biden has declined to participate in the program. He is busy campaigning for reelection against Donald Trump and the MAGA Cult that is threatening to do away with democracy. And naturally, Trump had something idiotic to say about Biden’s decision to put the America first. On his failing social media scam, Truth Social, Trump whined that…

“Crooked Joe Biden has just announced that he will not be doing the big Super Bowl Interview. A great decision, he can’t put two sentences together. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM – would be ‘RATINGS GOLD!'”

It’s peculiar that Trump continues to use the infantile nickname “Crooked Joe” when he is the one with 91 felony counts pending and has already been found liable by a jury for defamation and rape. It’s Trump who will be in and out of courtrooms for the remainder of this election year, defending himself against criminal charges ranging from financial fraud, to inciting a violent insurrection, to stealing (and perhaps disseminating) classified documents, to undermining democracy. All of which he dismisses as “election interference.”

More to the point, Trump is complaining that Biden isn’t doing the interview because he supposedly “can’t put two sentences together.” Which is another example of Trump projecting his own deficiencies unto his opponent. Furthermore, Trump is flagrantly lying about being “happy to replace” Biden in the interview. Trump doesn’t do interviews with anyone outside of his safe harbor of MAGA hacks who lob him the softest of balls.

It’s also interesting to note that Trump has apparently forgotten that he himself chickened out of a Super Bowl interview in 2018. He retreated to his bunker because the interviewer was Lester Holt of NBC News. And he knew that his own mental infirmity would result in further humiliation. What’s more, two of the three Super Bowl interviews that he did show up for were moderated by Fox News Trump-fluffers, Bill O’Reilly (2017) and Sean Hannity (2020).

Trump’s attendance and/or avoidance of these interviews was not exactly a demonstration of the courage he tries to flaunt. It’s more of an affirmation of the cowardice he displayed by claiming five deferments from the Vietnam draft for alleged bone spurs.

Trump thinks he can project his mental impairment and spinelessness unto Biden for opting out of this interview. But, as usual, he is just shining a spotlight unto his own failings and reminding everyone that he is not only dishonest, but a craven coward with serious cognitive defects of his own. he is utterly unfit to serve in any office, and he seems intent on proving it.

Trump and Fox News are So Scared Of Biden, They’re Switching in Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama

The legendary Democratic campaign consultant, James Carville, immortalized the phrase “It’s the economy, stupid,” in order to impress upon his staff the importance of focusing on pocketbook issues to deliver votes. In most elections, people generally support the candidate that they believe has the best agenda for boosting their financial well being.

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

The 2024 presidential election may not hew as closely to that principle as prior elections. The emergence of Donald Trump has introduced some rather unique considerations that skew the strategic landscape in today’s politics. For instance, it’s the first election wherein a major party nominee is facing 91 felony criminal charges, has already been held civilly liable for defamation and rape, and is promising to reign as a dictator.

That said, the economy will still be a significant factor on the minds of voters as they make their choices for president. And the fact that the economy is presently firing on all cylinders presents a real problem for Trump and his mouthpieces at Fox News. The last thing they want is to run against Bidenomics as it is creating jobs, lowering inflation, lifting wages, and boosting the prospects of American business.

Consequently, when Fox News’ Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Trump for her Sunday morning program, she made a point of deflecting from Biden to two other notable persons who have made it clear that they are not running for president: Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama. And Trump was all to happy to take the bait…

Bartiromo: You’ve said that you don’t even think [Biden] is who you’re going to face off in November.
Trump: Personally, I don’t think so.
Bartiromo: Well, Gavin Newsom is right out of central casting. How are you going to do up against Gavin Newsom?
Trump: I tell you what. Because he’s so much bullsh*t. He want’s to say how wonderful…it’s doing horribly. His state is doing horribly. You look at the homeless problem. You look at the people that are leaving. You have companies that are leaving. They’re all leaving for other locations. I think Gavin’s easy because California is a disaster. He has been a horrible governor.
Bartiromo: What if it’s Michelle Obama? How are you going to do against Michelle Obama?
Trump: You have to see. Look, I’ve seen polls where she doesn’t do well. She may do well. But I’ve seen polls where I beat her easily. I beat her by a lot. I had four great years.

This segment could not have been a bigger waste of time. Newsom and Obama have been crystal clear that they aren’t considering any campaign for the White House. Trump’s opinion that Biden won’t be his opponent is based solely on his fear that he is likely to lose to him again, just like he did in 2020. So Newsom and Obama are convenient deflections from that recurring fate of humiliation and defeat.

Naturally, Trump insists that he can easily beat Newsom or Obama. He childishly maligns them as he does any opponent that threatens him. And his confidence that he would prevail is a product of his massive, yet fragile ego. You can rest assured that he has never seen a poll showing that he would beat either one of them. But he has surely seen evidence of the booming Biden economy.

What’s more, his assertion that he had “four great years” is contrary to reality. He presided over the worst pandemic in a century. And his ignorance, incompetence, and even deliberate neglect, resulted in far more dire consequences than would have been suffered if an able administrator were in charge.

His term also had the worst record on job creation since the the Great Depression. Plus, he raised taxes for the working class, and lowered them for corporations and the wealthy. He put justices in place who set women’s rights back fifty years. And he sucked up to our foreign enemies while alienating our allies.

In short, Trump had four disastrous years that left the nation poorer, more in debt, sicker, and more divided than ever. Then he left the White House kicking and screaming about election fraud, stole classified documents and lied about it, tried to instigate a violent insurrection, and sought to strongarm state officials into altering election results.

That record makes him vulnerable to Biden, Newsom, Obama, or any other challenger. At this point he would lose to SpongeBob SquarePants. American voters are not about to turn over the country to a criminal crybaby with authoritarian aspirations.

The success of the measures executed by Biden and the Democrats is in stark contrast to those employed by Republicans and Donald Trump. During Trump’s occupation of the White House he devotedly advanced the interests of corporations and the wealthy, to the detriment of average Americans. And the outcome proved to be devastating as he left office with the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover. That contrast recently seeped into a segment of Fox News’ “The Five”…

The Biden administration’s stellar employment stats also made it into Fox News reporting. Although their reception of what is unarguably good news was something less than celebratory. For the most part they tried to downplay the news or find negative crumbs they could chew on. But in the end, the positivity of the numbers was hard to suppress and/or disguise.

The glad financial tidings were so tremendous that they were even recognized by Trump’s former director of his National Economic Council, Larry Kudlow, who now works for Fox News. Kudlow’s commentary on the matter was surprisingly complimentary. So much so that the Biden-Harris campaign featured it in their social media posts, including their account on Trump’s failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, along with a few other entertaining messages.

[Note: The following posts all appeared on Truth Social, but these are the same posts on Twitter, so as to avoid making people dirty themselves by visiting Trump’s website]

“We had a blowout jobs report. More than twice the consensus expectations. Now, I know many of my conservative friends are trying to drill holes in this report. But you know what, folks? It is what it is. It’s a very strong report. Not every economic stat should be viewed through a political lens. […] 353,000 gained in non-farm payroll – a very big number. Prior two months revised up by 126,000 – another big number. And the bottom line here is more Americans are working. And that’s a good thing no matter what your party registration is.”

The 2024 presidential year is bound to feature more of Trump’s madness, hostility, and failure, as well as Biden’s competence, compassion, and success. Biden has already been focusing his campaign on substantive issues that the American people care about, such as jobs, abortion, climate and environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, diplomacy, and saving democracy.

Meanwhile, Trump has been ranting feverishly about “witch hunts,” “election interference,” and scary brown immigrants. His entire campaign is consumed by two issues that have zero significance to the American people: 1) His “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen” from him. And 2) His relentless whining about his legal tribulations, such as the 91 criminal charges he faces, and his civil litigation that has already found him liable for defamation and rape.

Therein lie the factors that voters must consider when choosing who to vote for in November. And if anyone is having any trouble with that decision, then they have been hopelessly devoured by the Trump cult. Let them go. They are lost to us.

Thankfully, there are way more Americans who are sane, reachable, and love their country. Many who have not voted before, or not voted for Democrats. And they should be the targets of Democratic campaign efforts going forward.

Trump Attacks Georgia D.A. Fani Willis and Sics His Congressional Lap Dog, Jim Jordan, on Her

The legal melodramas enveloping Donald Trump are becoming more engrossing than the fictional soap operas broadcast on television. Who would have believed ten years ago that a candidate of a major political party would be running for president with 91 felony charges pending against him? And even more unimaginable, that candidate is actually the frontrunner.

Trump Fear

That is, unfortunately, where we are now in America as Trump has cast his spell on what remains of the Republican Party. What was once referred to as the “Grand Old Party” (GOP) would now more accurately be called the “Groveling Obedient Peons.” It’s a cult that shamelessly worships a criminally indicted felon and rapist who preaches a platform of vengeance and venality.

On Friday Trump lashed out again at one of his perceived tormentors, the District Attorney of Georgia, Fani Willis. In a post on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, trump whined that…

“Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.’ By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”

For the umpteenth time Trump is trying to associate all of the prosecutors who are investigating his criminal activities with President Biden and his Justice Department. He has never provided a shred of evidence that any such connection exists, but the baseless accusation is a core part of his victimhood. He’s convinced that Biden is the head of a corrupt cabal that encompasses the entire U.S. government, even though he is – according to Trump – mentally deficient and unable to put two sentences together.

Even so, this accusation makes less sense than his other wild fantasies. He’s asserting that Biden and the DoJ got Willis to hire a special prosecutor at allegedly inflated rates. But why would the Biden administration want to enrich Willis’ boyfriend? Trump is just grasping at air to try to invoke some sort of scandal.

What’s more, Trump’s claim that the relationship “MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER” is preposterous. That relationship doesn’t discredit the case because it has no bearing whatsoever on the facts that have been accumulated that show that Trump attempted to threaten officials in Georgia in order to overturn the election results. And as for Trump’s suggestion that the case is now “OVER,” that will be news to the judge and the prosecutors who are still intensely engaged in it.

Meanwhile, it appears that Trump has directed one of his congressional cronies to launch an assault on Willis. Jim Jordan, the GOP chair of the House Judiciary Committee, just issued a subpoena for Willis to appear and deliver documents. As reported by CBS News…

“House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for documents related to an investigation by the GOP-led panel into allegations she misused federal funds, accusations she has denied.” […]

“Republicans on the Judiciary Committee have been looking into Willis’ use of federal funds during her office’s investigation into former President Donald Trump and his alleged scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state.”

This is another flagrant of abuse of power by Jordan. His committee has no jurisdiction over state prosecutions that are still in progress. His intention is to disrupt the prosecution in an effort to rescue his Dear Leader Trump. It won’t go anywhere. And coming from Jordan, who is currently still failing to comply with a congressional subpoena of his own, it could not be more ludicrous and transparently vindictive. Willis issued a response saying that…

“These false allegations are included in baseless litigation filed by a holdover employee from the previous administration who was terminated for cause. The courts that have ruled found no merit in these claims. We expect the same result in any pending litigation.”

In his delusion, Trump seems to think that these vicious tactics will get him off the hook for his multitude of crimes. He’s going to learn the hard way that judges and juries are not as easy to fool as his glassy-eyed cult followers. And if he needs any reminders of that, he just needs to ask E. Jean Carroll.

FLYING KETCHUP ALERT: Peter Doocy of Fox News Reports New Poll that Shows Biden Beating Trump

The 2024 presidential election cycle is still at a pretty early stage with both candidates seeking their party’s nomination. Joe Biden, of course, is the incumbent Democratic candidate with no serious competition. Donald Trump, however, is in a near panic, despite the fact that he has faced relatively light opposition from Ron DeSantis, who has dropped out, and now Nikki Haley, who is ramping up her attacks.

For the past several weeks Biden has trailed Trump in many polls, and has suffered with low approval ratings. But Trump’s approval hasn’t been any better. Nevertheless, Trump and his MAGA media minions have made a point of celebrating every poll that showed Trump ahead, even if it were only by a point or two and within the margin of error. And yet, Trump still can’t find any comfort in the numbers that he slobbers over.

On Thursday morning, Fox News White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, was interviewed by his father, Steve Doocy, on Fox and friends. The subject of the segment was a new poll by Quinnipiac that put President Biden ahead of Trump by six points (50-44). It appears that the American people are starting to feel the the positive effects of Biden’s leadership, and that is beginning to be reflected in the polling. The younger Doocy reported that…

“The trends here may be changing because President Trump, former President Trump, has been leading national poll after national poll over President Biden for the last couple of weeks, but not in this one. And maybe it’s an outlier, maybe it’s not. But Quinnipiac had Biden up on Trump six points, 50 to 44.

“The Biden team has been trying to pivot to general election mode. They’ve been focusing on abortion access and on union jobs. And the Trump team has spent the last week or so dealing with his legal issues.”

Trump is not going to take this well. He has been known to viciously lambast Fox News whenever they are something less than unwaveringly worshipful. And he is particularly infuriated when they dare to report the results of polls that show him behind.

Doocy correctly points out that Biden has been campaigning on substantive issues that the American people care about, such as abortion and jobs. He could have also mentioned the booming economy, climate and environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, and saving democracy.

Meanwhile, Doocy gently touches on the fact that Trump is wholly consumed by his “legal issues,” which include 91 felony charges and a recent $83.3 million judgment in favor of E. Jean Carroll, the woman he raped and defamed.

Doocy continued his poll analysis, noting that third party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. take votes from both candidates, but that Biden still beats Trump 39 to 37. Then he observed that Nikki Haley was ahead of Biden 47-42, but that she is unlikely to get the Republican nomination.

All told, this is the sort of report that is likely to trigger a Trumpian aneurism. Mar-a-Lago staff has been put on Red Alert for incoming ketchup bottles. And Dr. Rep. Ronny Jackson, aka “The Candyman,” is on call for distribution of additional doses of Adderall and other psych meds.

Jean Carroll, Trump is maneuvering to shift the blame for his own despicable actions away from himself and unto any handy patsy within arm’s reach. Unfortunately for his attorney, Alina Habba, she happened to nearby.

Donald Trump, Woman, Fear

Trump’s notorious tendency to throw allies under the bus speeding, out of control freight train, ought to give anyone considering working with him pause. That’s especially true for lawyers, who he is known to stiff after they have provided their services (just ask Rudy Giuliani). Which in some sense is understandable since he generally refuses to heed their legal advice anyway. Particularly if it involves advising him to keep his fat mouth shut to avoid making things worse.

In the wake of the massive Carroll judgment, Trump continues to pretend that others are responsible for his legal tribulations. In a post-midnight comment on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted what appears to be a help wanted ad for new legal representation. He is either terminating Habba, or bringing in reinforcements due to her obvious incompetence. The post began…

“I am in the process, along with my team, of interviewing various law firms to represent me in an Appeal of one of the most ridiculous and unfair Witch Hunts our Country has ever seen – The defamation Sham presided over by a Clinton appointed, highly partisan, Trump Hating Judge, Lewis Kaplan, who was, together with certain other Radical Left Democrat Judges, one of the most partisan and out of control activists that I have ever appeared before.”

This is a rare example of Trump making a good decision. Throughout the Carroll case Habba demonstrated that she was wholly unqualified to defend Trump in the matter. She did little more than screw up the defense and antagonize the judge and jury. While Trump doesn’t directly criticize Habba, his search for new lawyers says clearly enough that he was less than satisfied.

Habba didn’t help herself after the judgment when she filed a letter with the court citing a story in Rupert Murdoch’s disreputable New York Post that said Judge Lewis Kaplan had “mentored” Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan. Habba called the situation “insane and so incestuous,” and alleged that it was an ethics violation. Attorney Kaplan responded, saying that the “allegations are utterly baseless,” and suggested that she might seek sanctions against Habba. That resulted in Habba quickly retreating, essentially asserting the legal equivalent of Emily Litella’s precedent setting “Never mind!.”

Meanwhile, Trump is also lashing out at Judge Kaplan in a manner that is typical of the world’s biggest crybaby and perennial victim. Anyone who does anything that reflects negatively on Trump is robo-tagged as a “highly partisan, Trump Hating…Radical Left Democrat,” engaging in “ridiculous and unfair Witch Hunts.” But Trump went even further to rage that Judge Kaplan was…

“…a ‘bully’ who demanded two trials, rather than one, denied me Due Process, would not allow me to put forth vital evidence (of which there was much!), and only allowed me to be on the witness stand for minutes, telling my lawyer what to ask, and telling me to only give one word answers, as his wife and friends sat in cordoned off front row seats watching with glee.”

Let’s take a moment to set the record straight here…

  • The judge did not demand two trials. That was Trump’s doing by first defaming Carroll, then, after losing the first lawsuit, defaming her again. Which led to the second hearing.
  • Trump was not denied due process. He was given a fair hearing before a jury of his peers, that complied with established legal procedure, and with his chosen counsel representing him.
  • He was not allowed to present evidence because this wasn’t a trial to determine guilt or innocence. That was established in the first trial. This hearing was only to ascertain what, if any, additional damages would be awarded as a result of his continued offenses.
  • He could have given more testimony, so long as it was in compliance with the court’s rules and not an effort to relitigate the case or dispense campaign propaganda. His lawyer chose to ask only three questions, probably to avoid giving the plaintiff’s attorney more opportunities during cross examination.
  • He was never instructed to give one word answers.
  • Who cares who was in the courtroom and whether they were enjoying themselves? That has nothing to do with the proceedings or the judgment. Most of America was likely experiencing some measure of glee.

Trump closed with a peculiar conclusion that actually contains a morsel of insight…

“This entire HOAX is a disgrace to our American System of Justice. Any lawyer who takes a TRUMP CASE is either ‘CRAZY,’ or a TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT. I will make my decision soon!”

The truth is that Trump himself is “a disgrace to our American System of Justice.” Not to mention our system of politics. However, given the choice that he presents as to the status of his lawyers, it’s a pretty safe bet that most people would regard anyone who represents Trump, knowing what we know about him, would have to be “CRAZY.”

BLAMING THE VICTIMS: Fox News Trump-Fluffer Blames DEI for the Deaths of U.S. Soldiers in Jordan

Last week a drone attack on an American military installation in Jordan took the lives of three soldiers stationed there. It was a brutal and unprovoked assault that the Iranian backers of the perpetrators will soon regret. Unfortunately, here at home Fox News is taking their “Blame America First” position that they have taken many times before in similar circumstances. It’s a position that they have adopted from their Dear Leader, Donald Trump…

On Monday morning, Fox’s Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed MAGA Republican Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX). Their predictably prejudiced political punditry was rife with disparagement of President Biden. Pfluger attributed responsibility for the attack on what he falsely claimed was Biden’s “weakness.” Never mind that it is Republicans and Fox News who have been purposefully telegraphing a false message of American weakness to our enemies, in effect encouraging them them to launch attacks. But even worse was their attack on the deceased heroes that they were pretending to care about.

Pfluger: It’s the weakness that invites that aggression.
Bartiromo: Well, maybe they’re focused too much on DEI. There’s a concern at the FBI because they’re dropping the FBI special agent requirements in the name of DEI. I’m just wondering if that has anything to do with missing an important drone that just killed three of our heroes.

Bartiromo’s suggestion that DEI programs – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – played a role in the soldiers’ deaths is straight-up racism. She and her GOP confederates are repulsed by the idea of treating people with unbiased respect. And they regard such treatment as special favors for inferiors. Which is apparently what they think of the soldiers who died and their brothers and sisters stationed with them.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Bartiromo is also displaying her pitiful ignorance by asserting that lowered requirements for FBI special agents had anything to do with this. First of all, even if the FBI is being more cognizant of DEI, that is not lowering their requirements at all. Secondly, the FBI has no responsibility for the security of military posts outside of the country.

More to the point, Bartiromo is blaming the deceased heroes for their own deaths. It is notable that the three soldiers who were killed were all Black. Which probably contributed to her implying that, due to DEI, they were too incompetent to perform their duties properly. That is not only a vicious lie, it is grossly insensitive, disrespectful, and unpatriotic.

Then again, that’s Fox News for you. They are nothing if not flaming hypocrites. Bartiromo and her audience might be interested in what the Fox News Corporate Responsibility Report says.

Gee… It’s almost as if Fox News corporation supports the sort of equity and civil rights that they vilify on the air 24/7. Too bad their hosts, guests, and viewers, don’t know anything about that.

Smartmatic: OAN Engaged in Potentially Criminal Activities with Trump Attorney Sidney Powell

The MAGA media confederation has suffered monumental losses lately. Particularly harsh was the 3/4 of a billion dollar judgment against Fox News for defaming Dominion Voting Systems. But that was just the beginning. Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News (OAN) remain at risk in several other pending lawsuits related to their promulgation of Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from him.

Among the pending lawsuits is one by the voting software company, Smartmatic, against OAN. The Trump-fluffing propaganda outlet virulently attacked the company, charging falsely that they deliberately developed their software so that it could be hacked by nefarious Democratic operatives to switch votes from Trump to Joe Biden. Even though they knew that it wasn’t true.

Now there is further evidence of the conspiracy concocted by OAN and the Trump legal team. A new court filing by Smartmatic reveals that its president, Charles Herring, engaged in a suspicious email exchange with Trump attorney, Sidney Powell. As reported by CNN…

“In the wake of the 2020 election, the president of the far-right network One America News sent a potentially explosive email to former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell, with a spreadsheet claiming to contain passwords of employees from the voting technology company Smartmatic, according to court filings. […]

“Lawyers from Smartmatic told a federal judge that the email, and the attached spreadsheet, suggest OAN executives ‘may have engaged in criminal activities’ because they ‘appear to have violated state and federal laws regarding data privacy.'”

This allegation appears to affirm the unsavory relationship between OAN and the Trump campaign clan. It’s a relationship that also includes, Christina Bobb, an attorney who worked for both Trump and as a correspondent for OAN. As part of her duties for Trump she signed off on the confirmation to the FBI that all of the materials, including classified documents, that Trump had improperly taken to Mar-a-Lago had been accounted for and returned. That was not true.

Now the bonds between Trump and OAN have been drawn even tighter. If the president of the company was conspiring with the Trump legal team to gain access to Smartmatic machines, or the accounts of their employees, or to disseminate the means of that access, they are potentially liable for criminal charges.

That will eventually come out when this case goes to trial, if it goes to trial. OAN has already settled with two poll workers who sued them for defamation. And they have tried to distance themselves from the flagrant lies perpetrated by obsessive election denier, Mike Lindell of MyPillow fame. But any settlement is likely to bankrupt them.

OAN has far fewer resources than Fox News. Who, by the way, are also facing a lawsuit by Smartmatic. So with the upcoming litigation involving Smartmatic, and Trump’s multiple indictments, there are some interesting times ahead for Trump and his purveyors of propaganda. Stay tuned.

Trump The Clown Performs His Infamous Biden Imitation for His Adoring and Glassy-Eyed Cult Fans

The alleged appeal of Donald Trump has always been his ability to amuse a profoundly undiscriminating sector of the electorate that finds infantile jokes and rampant profanity to be entertaining. He long ago admitted that he “loves the poorly educated“ and aims his rancid rhetoric directly at them. It’s a skillset that he developed while hosting a reality TV game show as his preparation for the presidency.

Donald Trump, Pennywise

Throughout his occupation of the White House, and well into his current campaign to return thereto, Trump has performed a like circus clown for his dazzled audience of devotees. He does this primarily to keep them distracted from the fact that he lacks any of the requisite experience or intellect to function as a political leader. He couldn’t care less about governing, because he’s too consumed with enriching and exalting himself. Or trying to avoid civil and criminal liability for his multitude of crimes.

On Saturday Trump delivered a speech to his cult followers in Nevada. It was just another rehashing of the same tedious talking points he has been disgorging for months (years). However, he did offer an allegedly comedic diversion to the delight of his disciples. In the middle of his routine raging, Trump lashed out at President Biden saying that…

“His speeches last for about 3 minutes cause you know his gasoline sort of runs out a little bit. It’s a little bit like an electric car, isn’t it. It doesn’t go far. It doesn’t go far. It’s got a couple of problems. It doesn’t go far. No, but I finished his speech. I did this great imitation. You know he always points like, huh. And then he walks in a different direction. But I did it He goes like, huh.”

Trump is, of course, lying. Biden often speaks for an hour or more. And without resorting to name-calling or disseminating disinformation about cars – or the economy, or the border, or healthcare, or Russia, or civil rights, or pretty much everything else Trump talks about. The truth is that it’s Trump’s attention span that runs out of gas after about three minutes, and he has to change the channel to Fox News and order another bucket of KFC.

Trump then staged what he says is his “great imitation” of Biden. That consists of Trump turning his back on the audience and walking into the wall behind him. What could be funnier? And what could be more blatantly projection by someone who is actually in a severe cognitive decline? It’s so obvious that even Biden noticed his mixing up of Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi…

Trump later brought up what he regards as one of his proudest moments – supposedly passing a test to detect early onset dementia. But it wasn’t enough for him to brag about his own imaginary mental acuity, he also had to disparage his own supporters…

And still they eat it up. That’s how cults work. The followers believe only what Dear Leader tells them, even if it’s how stupid they are. Which only makes it more imperative that the rest of us work furiously to insure that Biden beats Trump again in November. The alternative would be four more years of asinine posturing and clown acts.
