Fox News is Still Pushing the Lie that the 2020 Election Was Stolen that Cost Them $787 Million

Two years ago Fox News agreed to a record setting settlement with Dominion Voting Systems for engaging in blatant defamation against the company. The settlement came after pre-trial discovery that uncovered abundant and unambiguous evidence of Fox News executives and hosts blatantly lying about the 2020 presidential election being stolen from Donald Trump.

Two years later, and after having to fork over $787 million bucks, Fox News is still disseminating the same lies. These were not merely differences of opinion. There were documents that proved that Fox personnel were making public comments on the air that were diametrically opposed to what they were saying to one another in private.

This deceit and hypocrisy is still going on today. On Sunday morning, Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Trump’s running mate, JD Vance. In the course of her questioning, she asked him about the repeatedly debunked allegations of election fraud in 2020…

Bartiromo: President (sic) Trump continues to say that the 2020 election was stolen. He told me that again in this interview. How comfortable are you, in terms of the progress being made by the RNC and republicans, saying that, in fact, we will have a fair election this November?
Vance: Well, I think we’re making a lot of progress, Maria. […] The basic principle here is every American citizen’s vote should count. but if you’re not an American citizen, and you’re not casting a legal ballot, you’re vote shouldn’t count. Right? It’s sort of common sense that the Republican Party believes in. And interestingly, the Democrats seem to want illegal aliens to have the right to vote.

Notice that Bartiromo’s reference to Trump regurgitating his “Big Lie” was not to illicit a response to that flagrant dishonesty, but to deflect to a more vague inquiry about fair elections. In effect, she was validating Trump’s utterly fictional premise that the 2020 election was stolen. And consequently, she was implying that there would a be similar act of election theft in 2024.

Vance, of course, totally bought into Bartiromo’s narrative. Why shouldn’t he? He was asked a leading question by a biased Trump flunky, and he happily took the bait. But that’s not all. Vance furthered the dishonest narrative by extending the lie to accusations that undocumented immigrants were somehow responsible for stealing elections. And of course, he accused Democrats of advocating for that. Vance has no evidence to support those reckless and dangerous assertions, and neither does Bartiromo, who didn’t bother to point out that Vance was making stuff up.

Clearly Fox News has learned nothing from their having to pay out hundreds of millions of dollars for purposefully lying. Except maybe that they refrained from attaching their lies to a specific entity that could make a claim of defamation. They are more careful now to sanitize their deceit to avoid legal liability. But they are no less deceitful.

And yet, Fox News – and Trump and his MAGA team – will continue to pursue this path of pernicious lies, despite the fact that their efforts are obvious and tired rehashes of tactics that have failed in the past. They have nothing of substance to make their case, so they resort to desperation and fear mongering. And while it is surely not going to work, it is going make the next few months more annoying as these weirdos wallow in the slime.

Trump Chickens Out of the Debate with Kamala Harris and Proposes a New One on Fox News

The 2024 presidential election cycle promises to be historically significant for many reasons that historians will recall with awe and wonder. That will not be just because it led to the election of Kamala Harris, America’s first woman president, who is also Black and South Asian. It will be partly because these historians will also recall 2024 with anguish, and too often, laughter, due solely to efforts of Donald Trump and his acutely psychotic narcissism and authoritarian aspirations.

The core personal feature that Trump has struggled to present to the nation for the past several years is what he regards as his uncommon strength and bravery for taking on the forces of evil on behalf of the peasants that he seeks to lead and protect. Never mind that he relentlessly acts out his pitiful victimhood and has literally bragged about being “the most fabulous whiner.”

Trump: “I am the most fabulous whiner. I do whine, because I want to win. I am a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win.”

Trump has now offered another example of his innate cowardice by backing out of a previously agreed upon debate with Harris. And he did so with his typically incoherent and egomaniacal flair that has become a hallmark of his severely flawed character. The manner of his retreat is worth a deeper dive because it says so much about him and his self-serving motivations that belie any claim to courage.

It all began with a pair of posts (here and here) on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social that started off with – surprise – a lie. He then continued to misrepresent everything related to him backing out of the only debate that was actually agreed upon. What follows is a point-by-point factual breakdown of Trump’s emotional breakdown.

“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th.”

While Trump may have agreed with Fox News, he did not agree with Harris. He didn’t even discuss it with her. He merely stated his desire to schedule a debate hosted by his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, on his preferred date, with his choice of moderators (Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum), and his conditions that it be held in an arena with a live audience. That’s because he requires constant feedback from his cult disciples to nourish his ego and waste airtime with sycophantic cheering. He went on…

“The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest.”

Trump claims that the original debate agreement “has been terminated,” as if someone other than he himself has terminated it. In other words, he’s quitting. Also, his complaint that the ABC debate can’t go forward because of a lawsuit he has filed against ABC and George Stephanopoulos (whose name Trump mangles in his typically infantile manner) is ridiculous. That lawsuit was already in progress when he agreed to the debate in the first place. Why wasn’t it a conflict of interest then?

“[Trump] is asserting that Stephanopoulos defamed him by referencing the rape charge. But Stephanopoulos was merely reporting the findings by the judge in the case where Trump was recently found liable for sexually assaulting writer, E. Jean Carroll.”

“As everyone knows, the Democrats have Unconstitutionally taken a Candidate, who was acknowledged to be defeated, and unceremoniously replaced him with a new Candidate.”

“As everyone knows” there is nothing unconstitutional about the Democratic Party choosing its own candidates in a manner they see fit. The Constitution doesn’t even mention how parties select their candidates. What’s more, Biden voluntarily stepped aside, putting the country before his personal interests, and endorsed Harris. Which doesn’t require a ceremony. It was an act of selflessness that was greeted with unprecedented enthusiasm from Democrats, Independents, and even some disaffected Republicans.

“This has never been done before, and is a Threat to Democracy, but I am totally prepared to accept the results of this ‘coup,’ and replace Joe on the Debate stage with Crazy Kamala Harris.”

Trump is the “Threat to Democracy” and only accuses Democrats of it as part of his childish “I know you are but what am I” campaign strategy. And his willingness to “accept” Harris as his opponent is hysterical. He has no choice in the matter. Although his reference to a “coup” is rather curious because it will just remind people of the one that he instigated on January 6, 2021. Also, he has apparently settled on his witless nickname for Harris as “Crazy,” after “Laffin'” and “Lyin'” fell flat. But “Crazy” is a recycled nickname that he has previously attached to women such as Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Maxine Waters, and Mika Brzezinski.

I spent Hundreds of Millions of Dollars, Time, and Effort fighting Joe, and when I won the Debate, they threw a new Candidate into the ring. Not fair.”

Trump closes by complaining about the money he’s spent so far on his campaign, which almost surely was not “Hundreds of Millions of Dollars.” He’s spent most of his campaign funds on his lawyers and the multimillion dollar judgments against him for financial fraud and sexual assault. But he makes sure to whine at the very end by saying that it – like everything else that doesn’t go his way – was “Not fair.” Now Trump is using this to chicken out and invent another debate, which appears to be on the advice of Sean Hannity of Fox News.

Hannity: “Maybe it’s time for Trump to reject any appearance at ABC. For example, why would he show up at their debate if these ‘journalists’ clearly have opinion want to debate Trump themselves? Maybe he should just accept the Fox News Channel’s offer to debate?”

UPDATE: Trump posted yet another comment about the debate that reeks of fear. In it he says that “Kamala Harris doesn’t have the mental capacity to do a REAL Debate against me, scheduled for September 4th.” So he is resorting again to childish insults and lies. Harris will demonstrate her mental capacity for him if he bothers to show up for any debate. But as of now, the only one that is scheduled is on September 10, to be hosted by ABC News. Trump’s comment also said “I’ll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all.” So what happened to “any time, anywhere, any place”?

For the record, the Kamala Harris campaign has already responded to Trump’s cowardly refusal to honor his original agreement…

Trump and Fox News Attack Kamala Harris for Praising Diplomacy that Freed Prisoners From Russia

It was an occasion that inspired pride and gratitude across the nation for the historic diplomatic achievement that made it possible for these families to be reunited in freedom.

Sadly, there were pockets of unpatriotic dissenters who weren’t particularly happy about any of this. And no one will be surprised to learn that Donald Trump and Fox News led the contingent of malcontents that found only gloom in the news that the rest of the country celebrated. They have a distinct predilection for opposition to anything benefitting their political foes, no matter how good it is for the country.

Trump has provided an abundance of evidence of this compulsively anti-American psychosis that has infected the MAGA movement. And on Friday morning he confirmed it with a post to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. It came in the form of Fox News meme that declared “Kamala Harris ripped for word salad about ‘diplomacy’ as she makes unscripted comments.”

The first notable dishonesty in the graphic that Trump posted was what was left out of the title. It linked to a Fox News article that offered a bit more detail about the source of the allegation that Harris was “ripped.” The full headline read “JD Vance rips Kamala Harris for more word salad — ‘significance of the power of diplomacy'” So for some reason they found it necessary to hide the fact that it was Trump’s weird VP running mate that was maligning Harris.

More to the point, the complaint that Trump and Fox News have about Harris’ remarks is profoundly petty and a deliberate misinterpretation of reality. Harris’s comments were a gracious and appropriate compliment praising the work of those who secured the freedom of the unjustly held prisoners. She said that…

“This is an extraordinary day and I’m very thankful for our president. This is just an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy and strengthening alliances. This is an incredible day and you can see it in the families and in their eyes.”

Word Salad? Trump doesn’t know the meaning of the words. Literally. Despite the fact that his public statements are – as he might describe them – the best word salads ever at a level that no one has ever seen before.

In the hours since the release of the former prisoners, Trump has only briefly expressed any gratitude. And even that was just to preface his criticisms. However, he has disgorged a flurry of furious complaints and insults. He said that “Our ‘negotiators’ are always an embarrassment to us!” He falsely implied that the Biden administration paid for the release and was encouraging future hostage taking. And he described it as “a win for Putin.” Which is peculiar because that should be something that Trump would approve of, given his allegiance to, and infatuation with, the the Russian dictator.

Trump’s hostile reaction to any good news for America that occurs while Biden is still President, is as abhorrent as it is predictable. He has a confirmed “Blame America First” mentality. In his twisted mind, anyone other than him is an idiot who hates the country. And if you’re looking for a good example of projection, you just found it.

Hannity Thinks Trump Shouldn’t Debate Kamala Harris Because the Moderators Will Be Mean to Him

Whenever Donald Trump makes the mistake of displaying his true nature as a hate mongering ignoramous, he can rely on Fox News to come to his rescue with an adoring spin cycle to whitewash what ever rancid rhetoric he glibly unloaded at one of cult rallies or during a Nerfball interview on some other MAGA media outlet.

On Wednesday Trump provided an exquisite example of this team gamesmanship between himself and Fox News. It came after Trump put on a blatantly racist show before the National Association of Black Journalists where he questioned whether Kamala Harris was Black, insulted the Black journalists hosting the event, accused Harris of being a “DEI hire,” and, for good measure, disses his own VP pick, JD Vance, as having “virtually no impact.”

These are all great messages leading up to the next debate between Trump and his new opponent, Vice-President Harris. That is, if Trump bothers to show up. Although he had already agreed to the September 10 date, he has more recently been backpedaling with lame excuses as to why he might skip the debate. And nothing affirms strong character like running away from an opponent that you are obviously are afraid of.

Cue Sean Hannity of Fox News. On Wednesday night Hannity rushed to try to bail Trump out by providing him with an opening to ditch the debate entirely. He began by bashing ABC News as a dishonest network with unfair journalists. Which is textbook projection on Hannity’s part because that’s how Fox News is known to the rest of the world. He continued saying that…

“Maybe it’s time for Trump to reject any appearance at ABC. For example, why would he show up at their debate if these ‘journalists’ clearly have opinion want to debate Trump themselves? Maybe he should just accept the Fox News Channel’s offer to debate?”

Of course! Because Fox News doesn’t have any “journalists” with opinions, do they? All kidding aside, Hannity’s proposal is just an attempt to grease the skids for Trump to chicken out. Convicted felon Trump is noticeably nervous about the prospect of facing former prosecutor Harris. It’s why his entire campaign is narrowly focused on infantile insults and flagrant lies, rather than any substantive, policy-driven criticism.

Harris recently challenged Trump directly saying that “If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.” Trump replied by saying that he would “probably” debate “but I can also make a case for not doing it.” Well, now Hannity has helped him to make that case. Although Hannity’s help is a pitifully weak effort that consists of baseless claims about ABC’s fairness, and a self-serving pitch for Fox News to get the hosting privileges. Perhaps Hannity will propose himself and Kayleigh McEnany as moderators.

With the debate only six weeks away, Trump is going to have to make a decision soon. Rest assured that his decision will be based on the level of his fear. Will he be too afraid to go head-to-head with Harris? Or will be too afraid to look scared by dodging her? Those are his choices. And he is surely clawing the faux-gold wallpaper at Mar-a-Lago today trying to make up what’s left of his mind.

The juggernaut that Harris is now commanding has upended the election in profound ways. The focus of the race has switched from an obsession with the nervousness of Democrats, to the weirdness of Republicans, especially Donald Trump and JD Vance. Even Fox News has broken ranks with their Dear Leader with an occasional nod to reality…

However, Trump’s tribulations do not end with his sagging electoral prospects. One of the main reasons he’s running at all is to accumulate more wealth via grifting off of his glassy-eyed cult followers. And that isn’t going any better than his campaign is. [Note: The other reasons are to stay out of prison and to amass tyrannical power] A new report by “The Righting,” a conservative monitor of right-wing media, just released user data for Trump’s Truth Social that is sure to send the ketchup flying at Mar-a-Lago…

“The Donald Trump-controlled Truth Social platform recorded its third straight month of declining traffic. Truth Social attracted 2,112,000 unique visitors, down 38% compared to June 2023 when the site generated 3,407,000 unique visitors. It was the platform’s second worst traffic performance since June 2022 when Truth Social had only 1,891,000 unique visitors.”

These numbers are not only declining precipitously, they are virtually meaningless in the social media world. For comparison, Twitter/X, the site that Trump left to launch Truth Social, has more than 200 million daily active users. Which makes the valuation of Trump’s scam site – Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) – on Wall Street as preposterously exaggerated as his real estate assets that resulted in a nearly half billion judgment for financial fraud.

Trump’s stock price is not driven by the company’s financials. Rather, it is driven by two main factors. One: It’s a vehicle for the wealthy and corporations, even foreign interests, to surreptitiously (i.e. illegally) buy influence. And two: It trades on the whims of his cult disciples who believe that they will cash in when he returns to the White House. That latter scenario is becoming less plausible every day. The stock (DJT) is down 56% since it went public on March 26, 2024.

In addition to the financial woes of Truth Social, it has a long history of legal problems as well. And there is news on that front. A new ProPublica investigation has found some more shady business dealings at TMTG. It involves the acquisition of a tech company with tentacles that reach into Slovenia, China, and Russia. Although both it’s operations and executives are mysterious and unaccountable. Could it be another pipeline to funnel funds between Trump and businesses and/or governments with conflicts of interest?

Trump’s Truth Social has never been a a good business or investment. It has been unable to attract or maintain a significant user base. It has failed to produce sufficient revenue to remain in business. It has been horribly mismanaged by incompetents and criminals. And there is abundant evidence of all of that…

Are Trump’s Nazi Videos and Hateful Posts Why Truth Social Lost $327 Million and 19% of Users?
In the just first quarter of 2024 TMTG lost $327 million on revenue of less than $1 million. Which makes its stock valuation of $6 billion something of a joke. What’s more, Truth Social lost nearly 20% of their active users in the past year.

A quick look at the company’s prospectus should frighten off any astute investors. It is exposed as “a high-risk, speculative operation with few hard numbers behind it. It’s already the subject of subpoenas, from regulators and a grand jury, even though it’s barely off the ground.”

Trump’s Truth Social Reports Massive Losses and Warns that it Could Go Out of Business
A Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing by the company reveals its financial frailty. The report paints a pitiful picture of the enterprise’s prospects going forward and reveals that it has lost $31.5 million since it opened for business just two years ago.

Trump’s associates in his truthless, anti-social media venture were arrested and charged with insider trading. Reports indicate that “the three individuals together made more than $22 million in illegal profits.”

All day Monday Trump unloaded another barrage of venomous vitriol. This time the target of his tantrum included his very own Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. It’s not the first time that Trump has lashed out at his MAGA media network, even as he is simultaneously gracing it with his noxious presence on the programs of his loyal sycophants such as Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. But it was one of his most vicious and sustained assaults. He began by posting the following inquiry…

“Why is FoxNews putting on Crazy Kamala Harris Rallies? Why do they allow the perverts at the failed and disgraced Lincoln Project to advertise on FoxNews? Even Mr. Kellyanne Conway, a man so badly hurt and humiliated by his wife (she must have done some really NASTY things to him, because he is CRAZY!), is advertising on FoxNews. We have to WIN WITHOUT FOX!”

From Trump’s perverse perspective, an alleged “news” network should not be covering the campaign of the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee for president, Kamala Harris. [Note: He’s also changed his nickname for her again, from “Laffin'” to “Lyin'” and now “Crazy Kamala”]. Then he whines about Fox News having sold advertising time to his critics. It must be awful for the “most fabulous whiner” (his words), to have to watch these blisteringly accurate presentations of him…

in response to this affront to his massive, yet fragile, ego, Trump let loose 37 posts on Truth Social. They were mostly weird memes with QAnon themes proclaiming Trump as the messiah or Democrats as evil. Some of the bizarre messages implied that the FBI “ordered the assassination” of Trump; said that January 6th was “an inside job;” called Harris a “Cackling Moron;” called Nancy Pelosi “Batshit Crazy;” and declared that Trump is “what god has ordained.”

Also interspersed among these ravings were meme’s that expressed Trump’s malice toward Fox News, including “Scr*w you FOX!;” “Who needs RINO FoxNews?;” “I don’t watch Fox News.;” and “Who needs Fake FOX & CO?” One example that just oozed his seething fear made the outlandish accusation that Fox News hosts Neil Cavuto and Shannon Bream are “On the Soros Payroll.”

That ought to be enough to convince most people that Trump is suffering from deep-seated anxieties and dread of the foreboding future that awaits him politically and legally. But sadly, there are those who have been indoctrinated into the Trump cult who can’t be convinced of anything, regardless of the abundant evidence. They are lost and irredeemable.

Let them go. There are still many more who remain rational and willing to join the reality-based community that will reject Trump’s egomaniacal totalitarianism and embrace the hope and honesty that Kamala Harris and the Democrats are offering. The next few months will be a bit nerve-racking, but with hard work and devotion to the principles that make America great, the result be a gratifying victory. Stay strong and true.

Kamala Harris, Donald Trump baby

In recent weeks the Trump team, and some gullible pundits, have been suggesting that his brush with “ear” death might have made him more empathetic and sensitive to others. That assessment, however, was debunked by Trump himself who told the audience at one of his cult rallies that “They all say ‘I think he’s changed since two weeks ago. Something affected him.’ No, I haven’t changed. Maybe I’ve gotten worse.” And on that point he’s actually right, for once.

Trump’s compulsive repulsiveness is evident in nearly every public comment he utters or posts online. And now that Kamala Harris is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party for president, Trump is setting his surly sights on her. Among the empty epithets he has unleashed are that Harris is “dumb as a rock” and “a low IQ individual” and “a DEI hire.” All of which are thinly veiled racism that doesn’t come close to being a substantive criticism of her policies or her record.

Most of the American people can easily recognize Trump’s hollow and impotent efforts to slander Harris. But he is generally defended by his sycophants on MAGA media such as Fox News. However, it appears that he may have gone too far for even some of them to fall in line. On Fox’s business network Monday morning, host Stuart Varney was interviewing Republican congressman Burgess Owens of Utah when he sought to get his opinion about Trump’s taunts…

“This is anecdotal, but I’ve been hearing a lot from women. They are not happy with what Trump has been saying and some of the language that he’s using about Kamala Harris. It’s insulting. Should he tone down his language?”

Owens went on robo-reply, attempting to ignore the question and divert to his criticisms of Democrats. But Varney wasn’t having it, He interrupted saying that…

“I’ve been out and about over the weekend. And when Donald Trump called Kamala Harris ‘dumb,’ that was a profound mistake, in my opinion. Women react to that kind of thing, and so they should. I mean, don’t you think you should tone down the language?”

Whereupon, Owens essentially gave up and replied that “Well, what you’re seeing with Donald Trump, he is who he is. He’s a fighter.” Which neither answers the question, nor describes Trump, who is actually better described as a whiner.

The problem for Trump and the Republican Party is that Varney is right. Trump’s abusive rhetoric will only serve to alienate women, who are familiar with, and tired of, these sort of put downs. And they don’t score any better with most men who don’t want their wives, mothers, sisters, or daughters treated with such open disdain.

Despite the obvious contempt that Trump displays toward women, and the piling on by his equally contemptuous VP pick, JD Vance, he will continue to be the malicious misogynist that he has always been. He can’t help it. And it will serve him right when his former fluffers, like Varney, fall off the bus before they get run over by it, and when women lead the electorate to his eventual defeat in November.

Pete Buttigieg Gives a Master Class on Truth-Telling About Trump on Fox News Sunday

As the newly re-energized Democratic campaign for president rolls out in support of presumptive nominee Kamala Harris, surrogates for the party and the candidate are making the rounds on television news programs. And most of them are exhibiting a measure of optimism and excitement that hasn’t been seen since the Obama campaign of 2008.

Pete Buttigieg on Fox News

Among the surrogates braving the hostile environs of network and cable news are several who are also on the short list to be chosen as Harris’ vice-presidential running mate. They include Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, to name a few. All of whom would be outstanding candidates and leaders. But one of whom stands out as spokesperson with the unique gift of being able to tame the wild beasts of Fox News.

Secretary Buttigieg has appeared on Fox News several times, and always manages to deliver a message that actually stumps the Trump-fluffing Fox interviewer. He expresses himself so plainly and compellingly that it’s even possible that he can get through to some of Fox’s viewers. And in an interview this Sunday Buttigieg demonstrated that ability in grand form. What follows are few choice excerpts from the interview (and a thread of the videos)…

“The idea that somebody hasn’t been tested or vetted when they have been vice president of the United States for nearly four years just doesn’t make any sense. [Harris] is in obviously one of the most visible leadership roles in the country and she’s demonstrated both her effectiveness in that job and a vision for the country that Americans agree with. And that’s the real reason I think she’s going to win.”

“[Trump] actually did keep two promises: He kept his promise to destroy the right to choose in this country, and he kept his promise on tax cuts to the rich … he lies all the time.”

“Unlike Republicans who in Trump’s personality cult will take a look at Donald Trump and say he’s perfectly fine even though he seemed unable to tell the difference between Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi, even though he’s rambling about electrocuting sharks and Hannibal Lecter. Even though he is clearly older and stranger than he was when America first got to know him, they say he’s strong as an ox, leaps tall buildings in a single bound. We don’t have that kind of warped reality on our side.’

“Crime is down under Joe Biden and crime was up under Donald Trump. Now, I don’t know how often that gets reported on this network, so if you’re watching this at home, do yourself a favor and look up the data.”

Throughout most this interview, Buttigieg had to cope with host Shannon Bream repeatedly interrupting him with attempts to push the Republican narrative (i.e. lies). And he still managed to smack down her weak efforts to dilute the impact of his facts and reasoning.

Buttigieg may not be at the top of the VP short list. He doesn’t have the ability to bring along a victory in a swing state. And being gay will probably (and unfortunately) be seen as too much of a progressive lean on the Democratic ticket. But there is no one better to face independent, and even right-leaning, voters on the campaign trail. He can continue a sort of residency at Fox News, while holding rallies in swing states such as Michigan and Wisconsin, and other Midwest neighbors to his home of Indiana.

Buttigieg would also be a good candidate for another Cabinet post in the Harris administration. He has experience and credentials that would qualify him for Housing and Urban Development, Education, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services. And although he doesn’t have a background in journalism, he might make a darn good Communications Director.

HUH? Addled Trump Urges His Cult Followers to Vote AND to Not Vote as He Aims to End Democracy

The 2024 presidential election has been an unprecedented and confounding campaign of starkly contrasting candidates ever since Donald Trump threw his red MAGA cap into the ring. His presence at any affair will always test the limits of lunacy, and this race is no exception. And the divisions just became even more apparent with President Biden passing the torch to Vice-President Kamala Harris.

Donald Trump, Mocking Disability

There are unique difficulties encountered when running against someone whose chief skills are lying and pandering to meathead cult disciples who are eager to be lied to. In this environment a sociopathic narcissist can fake a populist agenda that appeals to the lower rung racists and intellectual deficients of society. Which is exactly what Trump has managed to do. MAGA devotees openly admit that Trump is not only their political, but also their spiritual guiding star.

With that in mind, it is understandable, albeit frightening, how thoroughly entranced the Trump cultists are. It’s a mass delusional community that can’t recognize even the most flagrant falsehoods and hypocrisies. A couple of recent Trump rallies have provided a chilling example of that blind adoration with respect to his advice on participatory democracy. Note the overt contradictions in the quotes below…

[June 22] “I want the steal stopped. Because we don’t need the votes. We have the votes. We have more votes than we need. What we need – I tell these guys, I tell the RNC, I tell Michael {Whatley], I tell Lara [Trump}, I don’t care, We have all the votes.”

[July 26] “Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed. It will be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I’m [???] Christian. I love you. Get out – you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

So in the first quote Trump is unburdening his believers from the bother of voting because he insists that he already has more than enough votes to beat Harris. How he “knows” that is a mystery. But even if he had some rational reasoning, it would still be preposterous to discourage your supporters from going to the polls.

However, Trump threw another curveball with the additional comments he made imploring his faithful to vote. That’s right. The same people he previously said that he doesn’t need. In this statement Trump not only reverses course saying that he does need them, but that if they comply this time, they won’t ever have to do it again. Which is his way of assuring them that his victory this year will be a permanent one that results in his ascension to dictator/messiah.

It’s also notable how he refers to the the people whose votes he is now soliciting as “my beautiful Christians.” Compare that to how he refers to Jewish voters when he insults them saying that “Any Jewish person who votes for Kamala, or a Democrat, should immediately have their head examined.” So in Trump’s mind, Christians are “beautiful,” but Jews are psychotic.

You have to wonder what Trump’s cult worshippers are going to do in November. His advice in both of the quotes above is blatantly anti-democratic and anti-American. It is, however, pro-demagogue and advocates for capitulating to crackpot potentates.

So will Trump’s flock abstain from voting because they aren’t needed? Or will they vote with the hope of electing a tyrant? It’s too soon to tell. But it isn’t too soon to declare them all deplorables who can’t think for themselves so they surrender their free will to an aspiring authoritarian, and they abandon their principles to a convicted felon, financial fraudster, and adjudicated rapist. And between now and election day they will pray that Trump tells them in less confusing language what they should do.

Ratings for Biden’s Oval Office Address on Passing the Torch to Kamala Harris Burn Trump Up

If there is one thing that Donald Trump has become notorious for (other than lying, hate speech, porn stars, etc.), it’s his MAGA-ified ego that consumes the vast majority of his badly crippled consciousness. Whenever Trump speaks there is a better than 99% chance that he’s talking about himself or whining about someone or something that he believes is disparaging of him.

Donald Trump, Joe Biden

Being a malignant narcissist is a full time job. And among the duties are showing petulant outrage at any and every slight, no matter how petty or tangential. That’s why Trump spends so much time and energy attempting to ridicule his perceived enemies with infantile nicknames and asinine attacks for things that never actually happened. It’s ironic that he tries to use humor when he himself has no sense of it.

Given Trump’s background as a reality TV game show host, he remains inordinately obsessed with ratings and reviews. If he doesn’t have the highest ratings, the biggest crowds, and the most devoted disciples, he is inconsolable. Consequently, he must be fuming over the news that President Biden, who is no longer running against him, is still beating him.

Biden’s Oval Office address on Wednesday evening drew an audience of nearly 29 million viewers. That’s 16% more than the 25 million that Trump had for his big nomination acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention a few days before.

So Trump’s most highly anticipated speech of the year – that was poorly received and went on for an interminable 96 minutes – scored far lower than Biden’s brief, impromptu remarks explaining his passing of the torch to Vice-President Kamala Harris, which had already been reported.

Trump is clearly troubled by his poor performance on television, particularly because he was beaten by his nemesis, Joe Biden, a man he regards as a senile communist. On his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted his predictably scathing review of Biden’s speech, along with his pathetic and desperate denigration of Harris…

“Crooked Joe Biden’s Oval Office speech was barely understandable, and sooo bad!” […and…] “We’re not ready for a Marxist President, and Lyin’ Kamala Harris is a RADICAL LEFT MARXIST, AND WORSE!’

Notice that Trump provided no coherent analysis of either Biden’s remarks or Harris’ politics. He merely lashed out impotently with childish insults. Which is totally in character for Trump. He couldn’t put together thirty seconds of a substantive critique without diverting to electrified sharks or Hannibal Lecter.

Yet somehow the Republican Party is still all-in on their nominee, who is a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, financial fraudster, and aspiring dictator and/or messiah. This says so much about what was once called the “Grand Old Party” (GOP), but which is now neither grand, nor a party. All it is today is a cult led by an old and feeble-minded clown who is still losing to an opponent who is no longer in the race. If schadenfreude were a meal, Trump is catering a feast.
