Pathological Liar Trump Denies Pentagon Reports of Chinese Balloons Over U.S. During His Term

In the wake of the 21st century’s most dreadful and diabolical act of international espionage – the Chinese Spy Balloon Affair – Donald Trump is displaying his famously fatuous and defiant demeanor. Always the measured stateman, Trump’s response to China’s brief and inconsequential incursion into American air space is typically distant from any rational version of reality.

Trump’s first public comment on this pressing matter was a posting on his pitifully failing social media site, Truth Social, that said nothing but “SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON!” Which was particularly asinine advice considering that he and his mouthpieces on Fox News believed that it might contain bioweapons that would spread for miles were the balloon to be shot down over the U.S.

On Sunday Trump elaborated on his thoughts regarding the giant Chinese party favor. He posted a comment that refuted the documented reports by the Pentagon about the state of the military Spy Balloon gap. Trump babbled that…

“The Chinese Balloon situation is a disgrace, just like the Afghanistan horror show, and everything else surrounding the grossly incompetent Biden Administration. They are only good at cheating in elections, and disinformation — and now they are putting out that a Balloon was put up by China during the Trump Administration, in order to take the ‘heat’ off the slow moving Biden fools. China had too much respect for ‘TRUMP’ for this to have happened, and it NEVER did. JUST FAKE DISINFORMATION!”

First of all, wouldn’t “FAKE DISINFORMATION” be real information? Setting that aside, Trump’s tedious tantrums about President Biden and the Democrats are always describing one “disgrace” or another. In this case, Trump is adamant that nothing like this ever occurred during his tumultuous term in the White House. Unfortunately for Trump, the Pentagon disagrees. They issued a statement on Thursday that revealed that…

“It is not the first time that you had a balloon of this nature cross over the continental United States. It has happened a handful of other times over the past few years, to include before this administration.”

Not only that, Fox News reported the same thing with additional details, saying that…

“U.S. officials tell Fox it’s not the first time Chinese spy balloons have flown over the United States. About four months ago a Chinese spy balloon crashed in the Pacific near Hawaii. Others were spotted over Texas and Florida, dating back to the Trump administration, but never previously acknowledged publicly.”

Sane observers know that Biden did the right thing by taking the advice of the military professionals and waiting to shoot down the balloon until it was over the Atlantic. They had already disabled the balloon’s surveillance capabilities. And having seen the seven mile long debris field validates the decision not to shoot it down over land, where the two-bus sized payload might have caused harm to people or property.

Trump is clearly unconcerned about these facts. And he isn’t bothered that the Pentagon refuted his factless and simple-minded denial. Neither is Fox News. Despite their own reporting, they have disseminated flagrantly false propaganda about the popping of the balloon. Fox host Maria Bartiromo asked an array of questions intended to invoke irrational fears…

“Did it drop and disburse surveillance products powered by solar energy to allow unlimited surveillance? And why did it take U.S. officials so long to shoot it down? Was it a test for the CCP to see if can send something into America’s airspace undetected? And how much surveillance is China performing on America right now?”

Note that Bartiromo was worried about the downing of the balloon because of the potential that it would “drop and disburse surveillance products,” but that she thought it should have been shot down sooner. She’s saying, in effect, that she wants China to have been able to collect more information.

Fox News also hosted Trump’s Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, who claimed to have been totally unaware of any of the Chinese spy balloon incidents during the Trump years. That’s comforting, isn’t it?

Additionally, Fox interviewed GOP senator Marco Rubio, who made a bizarrely contorted argument that China benefited by Biden not shooting down the balloon, and that China benefited by Biden shooting down the balloon. So according to Rubio, China wins either way.

How would this have been different during Trump’s term? He had the same options to either shoot down the balloon or not. And presumably the same win-win benefits for China. Of course, Trump took a third path wherein he did nothing at all and concealed the whole matter from the public. That was surely a win for Trump’s pals in China.

This is the sort of nonsense that passes for expert analysis on Fox News. And then they expect their audience to accept their dishonesty and foolishness. Lucky for them, their viewers have been primed to buy bullshit like this for many years. And that same cultist indoctrination paved the road for Trump to be able to lie so brazenly and profusely and still appeal to his glassy-eyed devotees.

It’s just a matter of time before the Kool-Aid is distributed. Or worse, he gives his StormTrumpers the orders to attack the rest of us. Which, actually, he has already done.

UH-OH: GOP Oversight Committee Chair on Fox News Fears a Weather Balloon is a Chinese Bioweapon

Particularly as it is presently transfixed by Donald Trump and his uniquely anti-American brand of ignorance, divisiveness, hostility, and egomaniacal self-exaltation.

On Friday morning the latest totally manufactured pseudo-scandal roiling the Biden administration was reported by the nervous nellies of the media. It featured a hot air balloon that was spotted at a high altitude above the plains of Montana. It was quickly accused of being a Chinese aircraft sent to spy on the United States. Never mind that China conceded that it belonged to them and was simply a wayward weather balloon.

Without hesitation, Fox News sprung into action contacting Republican Rep. James Comer (R-Balloon Boy), the new chairman of the House Oversight Committee, to get his assuredly informed and unbiased appraisal of the hovering hazard. Comer, it should be noted, is the Republican Party’s lead persecutor of President Biden, with a perverse emphasis on his son, Hunter. Comer plans to turn the Committee into a dedicated political harassment panel with the help of the GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News.

Comer was a guest on Fox News Friday morning to float typically bizarre conspiracy theories about the aberrant balloon. Fox’s Harris Faulkner asked Comer about the balloon, alarmed that it is “the size of three buses now, that China says was taken by wind – wind that we can’t substantiate.” Surely Comer will get to the bottom of the unsubstantiated wind controversy. In the meantime, he replied to Faulkner’s query saying…

“Well, I have concern that this is gonna be another example of the Biden administration’s weakness on a national scale. I mean, you look at what happened in Afghanistan. […] My concern is that the federal government obviously doesn’t know what’s in that balloon. Is that bioweapons in that balloon? Did that balloon take off from Wuhan.”

Exactly! This is no different than what happened in Afghanistan when a lone terrorist blew himself up, killing dozens of innocent Afghanis and thirteen American soldiers. And even though he has absolutely zero evidence of any clandestine plot, Comer speculates that the balloon 80,000 feet in the air contains deadly toxins because China is so eager to start a global war with the United States.

For the record, CNN did what Comer couldn’t be bothered to do to find out more about this looming threat. They spoke to a Pentagon official who put the situation into perspective:

“Why not shoot it down? We have to do the risk-reward here,” the official said. “So the first question is, does it pose a threat, a physical kinetic threat, to individuals in the United States in the US homeland? Our assessment is it does not. Does it pose a threat to civilian aviation? Our assessment is it does not. Does it pose a significantly enhanced threat on the intelligence side? Our best assessment right now is that it does not. So given that profile, we assess the risk of downing it, even if the probability is low in a sparsely populated area of the debris falling and hurting someone or damaging property, that it wasn’t worth it.”

Not one to sit out an opportunity to hog the spotlight of any media hysteria, Donald Trump weighed in with his customary abundance of insight and wisdom. In a posting on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, Trump bellowed…

“SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON!”

Yep. That was the whole statement. And it makes perfect sense. Because what better solution could there be than to shoot down a balloon that he suspects contains deadly toxins, so that it falls onto innocent Americans on the ground? Or at the very least, spreads the poison throughout the region by unsubstantiated, but surely Chinese-affiliated, winds.

These military geniuses aren’t crazy at all, are they? And since the balloon flew over Canada on its way to the U.S., perhaps we should take Tucker Carlson’s advice more seriously…

America can feel confidant that their nation is being secured by people like Comer and Trump and the Republican Party. Now they don’t have to worry that China is attacking the U.S. with balloons or other party favors. They don’t have to wonder if those balloons are carrying viruses invented by the evil Dr. Fauci, or cash to payoff Hunter Biden, or the classified documents stolen by Barack Obama’s “Deep State” militia. It’s comforting to know that we can all rest easier now that these brainiacs are allegedly in charge.

Fox News is OUTRAGED Because Biden Dares to Say He is ‘Optimistic About America’s Future’

Particularly when Donald Trump and the Republicans are saying and doing truly awful and/or idiotic things that steal the media spotlight.

While Biden is focused squarely on improving the lives of the American people, The Trumpian GOP is stumbling over their own cloven hooves trying to polish rotten apples like House Squeaker Kevin McCarthy, QAnon quack Marjorie Taylor Green, and pathological liar George Santos. And it can’t help the right-wing ranters that Trump is still out there yammering about all the “witch hunts” he is suffering through, and how he lost the 2020 presidential election, and how much he adores his mentor, Vladimir Putin.

Consequently, Fox News is anxiously scraping the bottom of the barrel for dirt to fling at Democrats. And this week they scrounged a doozy of an alleged misdeed on Biden’s part. They caught him saying out loud that “I’ve never been more optimistic about America’s future.” Oh my heavens. He must be impeached at once!

That atrocious outburst spurred Fox News to produce a story that was entirely based on Biden’s unconscionable faith in our country. It’s headline blared “Biden slammed after giving his ‘word as a Biden’ that America’s future looks great: ‘We’re screwed'” Of course the “slamming” that Fox reported was all from Republican officials and random right-wing Twitter trolls. Their “fair and balanced” coverage ranged all the way from conservative crackpot to ultra-fringe lunatic.

What’s more, this wasn’t just a one-off assault against Biden’s unbridled patriotism. A week ago Fox News did exactly the same story triggered by a similar tweet by the President.

The story that Fox News did in response to that uncalled for positivity sported a headline that read “Biden’s tweet about his optimism for America prompts immediate backlash: ‘Jesus take the wheel'” And once again, the entirety of the story was cluttered with “backlashing” from wingnut righties on Twitter whose criticisms centered mostly on infantile insults and misinformation.

For the record, Biden has good reason to be optimistic about America’s future. He has presided over two years of historic progress during difficult times. His achievements include both legislative and executive initiatives on the issues that matter most to the American people: job creation, civil and human rights, healthcare, energy and climate, international alliances, guns, COVID, and more.

That’s precisely what is enraging Fox News and the Republican right. The last thing they want is for America and Americans to prosper while a Democrat is in the White House. Hence their steadfast devotion to obstructing everything that Biden and Democrats in Congress are doing.

The GOP is countering Democratic optimism with Republican hopelessness. And they are pursuing petty and vengeful policies in their new role as the majority party in the House of Representatives. However, in the end, that’s going to hurt Republicans and it will just be more reason for Democrats to be optimistic.

Tucker Carlson Wants the U.S. to Invade Canada to ‘Liberate’ it So it Doesn’t ‘Become Cuba’

The right-wing Ministry of Propaganda – aka Fox News – has a long history of advocating blatantly anti-American policies and promoting the sort of noxious imperialism that is generally practiced by totalitarian strongholds such as North Korea and Russia. Leading the pack of pro-tyrannical blowhards on Fox News is their Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson. His frequent forays into fanboy adoration of brutal dictators like Vladimir Putin are a staple of his primetime fear, war, and hate mongering.

On Friday Carlson went farther over the cliff of crackpottery in a segment of his streaming Fox Nation show wherein he expressed his opposition to the U.S. support for Ukraine against the Russian invaders and his hero, Putin. He has previously declared unambiguously that he is on Russia’s side against Ukraine, a sovereign, democratic American ally. “Why do I care about what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia?” Carlson said, “And why shouldn’t I root for Russia, because I am.” But on Friday Carlson brought the war home to America, babbling that…

“I’m completely in favor of a Bay of Pigs operation to liberate that country. Why should we stand back and let our biggest trading partner … why should we let it become Cuba? Like, why don’t we liberate it? We’re spending all this money to liberate Ukraine from the Russians. Why are we not sending an armed force north to liberate Canada from Trudeau? And I mean it.”

The “Bay of Pigs“ was a covert military action against a hostile, foreign nation that ended in catastrophic failure and nearly triggered a nuclear war. But Carlson is, nevertheless, in favor of a “Bay of Pigs” style assault against our neighbor and ally, Canada. what he is advocating, to put it plainly, is terrorism.

It’s ironic, and repulsive, that Carlson associates his perverse advocacy of the U.S. invading Canada with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Carlson is not only taking Russia’s side as they commit horrific war crimes against civilians, he is advocating that the U.S. emulate Russia in his sick fantasy of attacking Canada.

Carlson never explains what it is about Canada that reminds him of Cuba. Perhaps he is just upset by the fact that it’s a democratic country that has universal healthcare, protects the environment, is proud of its diversity, and respects civil and human rights. Having such a progressive country just across the border likely keeps Carlson awake nights.

Consequently, Carlson seriously proposes a hostile, military takeover of Canada in order to force it to comply with the autocratic principles of the countries that Carlson admires: Russia, North Korea, Hungary, Brazil, etc. He would put American soldiers at risk, and task them with murdering innocent Canadians, to fulfill his dreams of a dystopian dictatorship that would presumably be ruled over by Dear Leader Trump.

The spark that lit Carlson’s fuse was a reference to the Canadian trucker’s convoys in 2022 in protest of COVID restrictions. They were decidedly undemocratic road blockages by a distinct minority, but were capable of causing severe economic hardship by using their trucks as barriers to all traffic. At the time, Carlson came out in support of the truckers, and urged American truckers to follow their lead and drag down the U.S. economy.

That’s just how Tucker rolls. He is an anti-American activist who is willing to sacrifice the welfare of the nation in order to achieve his neo-fascist cravings. And apparently he is also willing to sacrifice other nations for the same end. Where would he stop? Would Mexico and Central America be next? Would he seek to ally with Putin to capture Western Europe? Is world domination his ultimate goal? It’s hard to imagine that he isn’t dreaming of that now. And Fox News is all too happy to advance that abhorrent objective.

DirecTV Drops Ultra-Right Newsmax Network and Triggers Trump Temper Tantrum Attacking AT&T

The latest pseudo-scandal to upset the fragile feelings of the conservative mediasphere is the report that DirecTV and Newsmax have failed to reach an agreement on renewing the Trump-fluffing network’s contract. As a result, DirecTV has pulled Newsmax from their service pending a resolution.

Donald Trump, Boycott

Predictably overreacting to this news, Republicans in congress, and the ultra-rightist press that props them up, are howling about perceived, albeit imaginary, liberal bias, and are threatening to hold hearings (oh no, not that) to get to the bottom of this atrocity. They did the same thing when DirecTV dropped One America News Network (OAN) last year because nobody was watching it.

CBS News reports that “DirecTV said it ‘made it clear’ to Newsmax that it wants to continue airing the network,” but that its “demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs” for DirecTV’s customers. This development naturally provoked Donald Trump, America’s “most fabulous whiner” (in his own words), to lash out at DirecTV and its corporate parent, AT&T, saying that…

“WOW. AT&T DIRECTV REMOVES NEWSMAX FROM ITS CHANNEL LINEUP. This disgusting move comes after ‘deplatforming’ OAN last year. The Radical Left seems to have taken over the mind and soul of AT&T. This is a big blow to the Republican Party, and to America itself. For DIRECTV to drop very popular NEWSMAX, without explanation, will not be accepted. I, for one, will be dropping all association with AT&T and DIRECTV, and I have plenty. This is just one of many reasons why we must WIN IN 2024!!!”

What Trump is describing as a “disgusting move” is actually the exercise of a private business’s rights in free market capitalism. Republicans used to be in favor that. Now they are openly hostile to both free markets and the free press. They seem to prefer allowing government to force program providers to carry networks that they don’t want. And Trump’s kneejerk assertion that “the mind and soul” of AT&T, a major financial backer of conservative Republicans, has been taken over by the “Radical Left,” is patently absurd.

What’s more, Trump’s complaint that Newsmax was dropped “without explanation” is a flagrant lie. The negotiations between DirecTV and Newsmax broke down due to Newsmax’s insistence on being paid carriage fees for the first time. DirecTV is understandably reluctant to do so because Newsmax is available on other platforms (Roku, Amazon Fire, etc.) for free. It would make no sense for DirecTV to make their customers pay more for a service that, contrary to Trump’s claim, is not particularly popular, and is available elsewhere for nothing.

Unsurprisingly, Trump doesn’t understand that. And he couldn’t care less about whether this is “a big blow to the Republican Party, and to America itself.” He is wholly focused on his own selfish interests because Newsmax is a network that is unflinchingly worshipful of Trump and is home to many of his media mouthpieces.

Therefore, DirecTV’s decision to drop Newsmax “will not be accepted” by Trump. As if that has any meaning. He claims to have “plenty” of associations with DirecTV and AT&T, but the truth is that Trump is an impotent loser who can’t even influence the behavior of his most devoted and glassy-eyed fans. He has called for a boycott of AT&T in the past, without any discernible impact.

In fact, Trump has called for boycotts of numerous companies that failed to be sufficiently adoring of him. They include Fox News, Harley-Davidson, CNN, Apple, Macy’s, Univision, Mexico, HBO, Rolling Stone, Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck, to name few. Advocating boycotts of so many American companies, and the Americans who work for them, is a bad look for someone who is seeking the presidency again.

Finally, the charge that DirecTV is caving in to liberals was quickly disproven. The day after the decision to drop Newsmax. DirecTV announced that they were adding “The First,” another right-wing network with low viewership, to its roster. The First features disgraced former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, and is run by Christopher Balfe, the former CEO of Glenn Beck’s Mercury Radio Arts. That’s not exactly capitulating to the radical left, is it? And besides that, Newsmax has other things to worry about…

UPDATE: Trump extended on his rant about DirecTV in a subsequent post saying that it “should CANCEL CNN & MSDNC,” because “their Ratings are so pathetically bad.” And he insists that Newsmax and OAN (whose ratings are a fraction of CNN and MSNBC’s) should be put back on because “THE REPUBLICAN PARTY DEMANDS IT!!!” Really? So the media should be forced to do whatever wannabe dictator Trump and the totalitarian Republican demand? Yep, that’s what he believes.

Tucker Carlson’s Insane Theory that Feds Recruited Pence in a Botched Plot to Take Down Trump

The epidemic of wayward classified documents is spreading like wildfire. It began with Donald Trump being caught with hundreds of such documents at his Mar-a-Lago hotel/home. Then President Biden came forward voluntarily to disclose that his lawyers had found a few documents at his Delaware abode. And most recently, former VP Mike Pence joined the club.

There are stark differences in the details of these revelations. Most notable is the fact that both Biden and Pence discovered the mishandled materials, that they claim were taken inadvertently, and immediately notified the proper authorities. Trump, on the other hand, admits to having taken the documents deliberately, lied to the FBI about having them, and refused to return them.

However, you have to credit Tucker Carlson of Fox News for concocting the most preposterous conspiracy theories about these affairs. On the Tuesday night episode of his primetime crackpottery, Carlson dived head first into an empty pool in a frantic attempt pollute the news cycle with utter nonsense. With a chyron declaring that “Mike Pence Swoops in to Save Joe Biden,” Tucker spun that…

“Just days ago, Mike Pence sent his personal attorney to search his family’s home in Carmel, Indiana, for classified documents. Now, if Mike Pence didn’t think he had classified documents, why would he send his lawyer to go look for classified documents? We can’t say for certain, but it’s entirely possible – in fact, it’s likely – that Mike Pence was asked to do this by federal prosecutors who are trying to build a case against his old boss, Donald Trump.

“Now, the point would be to show that not every federal official walks off with state secrets. Donald Trump was uniquely evil in that regard, as in so many others. See, Mike Pence didn’t do it. So if that was the plan – and we suspect that it was – it backfired spectacularly because Mike Pence’s lawyer promptly discovered classified documents. He immediately loaded these documents into his car and drove them back to Washington to hand them over to authorities.”

Wow. Just WOW! Carlson is puzzled that, after all the hoopla about Trump and Biden, Pence would seek to ascertain if he were similarly susceptible to the classified docs melodrama. Turns out he was, so it was a good call. But from Carlson’s perverse perspective there was more to the story. He asserted, without any factual basis, that it was “likely” that Pence had been recruited by federal prosecutors “to build a case against his old boss, Donald Trump.”

Carlson’s theory, like almost everything that he says (see his recent pro-cancer advocacy of tobacco), doesn’t hold water. Why would the discovery of classified documents at Pence’s home in Indiana have any bearing on the legal consequences for Trump? Trump remains at risk for his purposeful purloining of sensitive national security materials, and for his obstruction and dishonesty, regardless of whether or not anything was found at Pence’s home.

What’s more, Carlson’s conspiratorial contrivance was buried in a broader bucket of bullshittery that involved – who else? – Hunter Biden. Carlson cited a report in Rupert Murdoch’s slimy New York Post that he said proves that…

“Hunter Biden had classified information in his possession. Almost certainly that came from his father, then the vice president. And that he used that information to make piles of money for the Biden family while working at a fake job in Ukraine.”

Of course, there is absolutely no evidence of anything remotely resembling that accusation in the New York Post or anywhere else. Carlson just made it up. Which is typical for a deceitful propagandist whose own Fox News lawyers defended him – successfully – in a defamation lawsuit by arguing that “no reasonable person” would take him seriously. And even Tucker has a rather insightful opinion of himself. He began Tuesday’s segment saying that…

“A lot of what you read at this point feels not like news, but instead, like some highly curated version of reality crafted to manipulate you.”

Yep. That’s exactly what it feels like when watching Tucker Carlson and most everything else on Fox News. It was nice of him to point it out.

Trump Whines ‘Leave Mike Pence Alone’ After Learning He Had Classified Documents at His Home

The Case of the Classified Documents is getting more complex with each passing day. It began with Donald Trump stealing and hoarding hundreds of sensitive national security documents at his Mar-a-Lago hotel/home. Then it expanded to include documents found in President Biden’s home in Delaware. And now former VP Mike Pence has joined the club.

While the underlying plot points have distinct similarities, the details reveal stark differences. For instance, both Biden and Pence assert that the documents in their possession were taken inadvertently. They both conducted voluntary searches and immediately turned over what they found to the FBI and the National Archives. By contrast, Trump still claims that the documents he took belong to him. He initially lied to the FBI about having them. And he refused to return them when asked, prompting the issuance of a search warrant for his Palm Beach bunker.

Trump continues to insist that he did nothing wrong. He has accused the Justice Department and the FBI of being “thugs” and “fascists” who are conspiring to destroy him. And now that Pence has been caught up in this melodrama, Trump, who recently renewed his accusations that Pence is a “Deep State” traitor for not trying to overturn the 2020 election results, is trumpeting Pence’s innocence. He posted a comment on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, saying that…

“Mike Pence is an innocent man. He never did anything knowingly dishonest in his life. Leave him alone!!!”

Did you hear that? Leave him alone! Pence appears to have done precisely what Biden did, but Trump wants him to be left alone. Meanwhile, he wants Biden to be drawn and quartered. What Trump did, in contrast to Biden and Pence, was deliberate and brazenly criminal. And yet he thinks he should be reelected to the presidency. Don’t try to make any sense of it. It’s just the rambling of a deeply disturbed egomaniac with a warped mind and no grasp of reality.

Predictably, Fox News is covering the Pence documents story with their usual bias and dishonesty. On Tuesday morning’s episode of “Outnumbered,” co-host Mollie Hemingway repeatedly tried to trivialize the matter of all classified documents being mishandled and falsely claimed that President Obama had disputes with the National Archives. She was parroting a recent Trump lie that Obama had taken classified documents to his home in Chicago. Then Hemingway unleashed this malarkey…

“What really made this whole thing different is when the National Archives took a fairly common paperwork dispute with a former president, one they despise, and they turned it into this big, carzy thing of raiding the home. And now, all of a sudden, they’re now being hoisted by their own petard here, where they’re now having to deal with the fact that there are problems with every former president and vice-president.”

Hemingway is pretty much alone in characterizing these events as merely “common paperwork disputes.” Not even Democrats are saying that about Biden. Most people agree that the mishandling of such materials is a serious matter. The question is whether it was inadvertent or deliberate.

On that score, Hemingway correctly noted that the difference between the Biden and Pence affairs, and Trump’s, is that Trump was subject to a search warrant. But she fails to acknowledge that the reason for it was because he refused to return the documents and lied about having them. The entire segment, and those that followed, were similarly slanted. But then, you didn’t expect Fox News to report on this matter factually and responsibly, did you?

The horrific news about the mass shooting in Monterey Park, CA, has saturated the airwaves for days. There has been extensive analysis of the crime and possible motives. There was live coverage of the police when they found the suspect’s body in a van. There were numerous press conferences by local authorities carried live. And yet, Donnie Jr posted this…

“You think you’d hear a lot more about the mass shooting of 10 people in California… But don’t worry you won’t hear anything about it because it wasn’t done by a white conservative man with an assault rifle. Doesn’t work for the narrative so it basically never happened!”

Really? Has Lil Don become so wrapped up in his right-wing world that his eyes and ears have glazed over. The tragic shooting has been the lead story in every newspaper and on every news network since it happened.

Well, every news network except for Fox News, where they spent ten minutes this morning on the sensationalized version of the Biden documents pseudo-scandal. They featured a clip of Rep. James Comer, the GOP chair of House Oversight Committee, baselessly asserting “influence peddling” by Biden. Although, for some reason he never mentioned Donald Trump’s far worse criminal activities, hoarding hundreds of classified documents that he lied to the FBI about having.

Following the grossly prejudiced propaganda about President Biden, Fox News segued to a story about Mexican immigrants and drug cartels. It took them twenty minutes to get to any news about the mass shooting in California.

No wonder Trumpette hasn’t heard anything about the Monterey Park massacre. And it’s notable that he doesn’t seem to care either. He offers no condolences, or even thoughts and prayers. He shares that insensitivity with his father who posted a single comment about the shooting on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that completely avoided any concerns for the victims or their families.

Instead, Trump twisted his remarks into a perverse and partisan rant about a “horrible gun wielding ANTIFA protest” in Atlanta that he pulled straight out of his asinine imagination, and a lament about the treatment of the January 6th traitors who assaulted Congress in an attempt to overthrow America’s democracy.

Naturally, DJTJr tries to make this all about white grievance with his insinuations about the shooter’s race and the motivations of the media. Of course, he has no facts to support his fictional frenzy. And the broad coverage of the story, by everyone but Fox, just proves how biased and ignorant he is.

Finally, it’s notable that he posted this foolishness on Twitter rather than daddy’s social media scam site. Clearly he is just as pessimistic about its prospects as papa Trump is.

Tucker Carlson Unleashes Insane Rant Advocating Tobacco Because ‘Nicotine Frees Your Mind’

The 2022 election cycle featured Republicans across the country furiously condemning Democrats as a ghoulish death cult that was deliberately seeking to harm Americans by affirmatively promoting violent crime, homicidal migrants, and the use and abuse of illicit narcotics.

Naturally, Fox News reported this nightmare perversion of reality with sensationalized coverage of mostly made up stories fear mongering about nonsense such as Halloween candies laced with fentanyl. Undeterred by the fact that none of their macabre alarmism came to pass, Fox News continues to drown their intellectually enfeebled audience in profoundly dishonest and dangerous disinformation. Particularly about COVID which, due to the flagrant lies and conspiracy theories aired by Fox News, has been found to have killed more Republicans than Democrats.

Leading this putrid pack of propagandists is Tucker Carlson. And on Friday’s episode of his hour of contrived outrage, Carlson pontificated on his aberrant affinity for tobacco. He began by chastising Democrats for having the audacity to oppose the single most preventable cause of cancer, asserting falsely that…

“No wonder they hate tobacco. And it’s not because it causes cancer. They don’t care about your health. They closed the gyms during COVID. Anyone who would close a gym during a pandemic that kills fat people clearly doesn’t care about your health at all.”

Carlson’s “logic” is typically preposterous. He thinks that it would be beneficial for “fat” people to continue patronizing gyms – where there is profuse heaving breathing and sweating on the equipment – during the pandemic spread of a respiratory virus. And this isn’t the first time that he has associated Tobacco with obesity. Sure, overweight people are vulnerable to more severe consequences from COVID, and they should take measures to lose weight for general health reasons anyway. But that’s something they could do at home, or by taking long walks.

Carlson, however, would have people patronize the sort of facility that could expose them to the very virus that Carlson is admitting could be deadly for them. He is advising them to go to a densely populated public place where they can exercise to lose weight over a period of months, so long as they don’t get COVID and die in a week or two. That makes sense, right? But Carlson was just getting started. He went on to complain that…

“They hate nicotine. They love THC. They’re promoting weed to your children, but they’re not letting you use tobacco, or even non-tobacco nicotine delivery devices which don’t cause cancer. Why do they hate nicotine? Because nicotine frees your mind and THC makes you compliant and passive. They hate it. It’s a real threat to them.”

Really? First of all, Carlson cannot cite a single example of Democrats “promoting weed to your children.” Secondly, adults can use tobacco all they want, as long as they are not subjecting others to their toxic habit. Third, vaping has many serious health hazards of its own. Fourth, “nicotine frees your mind”??? What sort of cancer death cult has Tucker joined?

Carlson is clearly the one who doesn’t care about your health. He has spent the past couple years pushing COVID disinformation that contributed to the deaths of his own viewers. He has warned them that vaccines don’t work and “they” aren’t telling you.

Carlson recently praised GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for reversing the Capitol smoking ban. Undoubtedly he believes that this new found freedom to suck up poisonous tar and nicotine, and expose others to the same health risks, is a boon to the testosterone deprived members whose masculinity has been on the decline due to the lack of properly tanned testicles. ‘One of the biggest stories in our lifetimes,’ Carlson has said, ‘is the total collapse of testosterone levels in American men.'”

On the same program, Carlson offered his pseudo-libertarian, anarchist view that all laws protecting people from harm are unconstitutional and should be abolished…

“The bottom line is they have no authority. They have no constitutional authority over your personal life. If it’s not in the public sphere, they have no right to ban it. You can smoke any kind of menthol cigarettes you want. You can cook in any stove you want. Only you decide what goes into your body, period. That’s the promise of America. And if we don’t stand up for that and say, ‘No, no. Come and get it.'”

So there you have it. Carlson is now advocating that everyone should be free to use tobacco, as well as fentanyl, meth, and heroin. The government should stay out of consumer product safety and allow lead paint, asbestos, and unsafe child car seats to go back on the market. Because that – getting killed by poisons and defective products – is “the promise of America.” And all this time you thought it was freedom and democracy. But is anyone surprised by Carlson’s latest harangue? He’s the same guy who recently embraced the concept of dissemating misinformation…

Sean Hannity and Marjorie Taylor Greene Conspire to Blackmail America with Debt Ceiling Default

On January 19, 2023, the United States officially hit the debt ceiling established in the previous session of Congress. As a result, the Treasury Department must now start taking extraordinary measures to continue to meet the nation’s prior obligations and avoid a catastrophic default. It is estimated that those measures will only delay a fiscal nightmare for a few months.

With that economic disaster looming, Fox News is predictably siding with the forces of evil who support crashing the U.S. economy, particularly during the Democratic presidential term of Joe Biden. To that end, Sean Hannity invited Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-QAnon) on to plot out their plan to hold the nation hostage in order to slash the safety net programs that many Americans rely on (video below). That would risk a severe economic meltdown. Not that Hannity or Greene care. It’s what they and their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, have been hankering for.

Hannity’s harangue began with his ludicrous assertion that Democrats are only “ginning up” the debt ceiling issue because they “desperately want to distract from the issue of the president and the classified top secret documents.” Really? You mean it’s not because Democrats recognize that the GOP is purposefully risking the full faith and credit of the United States in an effort to extort a few items on their right-wing wish list? And does Hannity really believe that Democrats want to distract from the issue of stolen classified documents, an issue for which Trump is far more vulnerable? Hannity went on to display his pitifully ignorant “understanding” of this issue, saying that…

“My understanding is that really won’t be an issue for a number of months. But when it is an issue, what will Republicans do? Will they be united? What are the things that they will demand in exchange for going along with the debt ceiling because the hyperbole, I’m sure, will be out of control.”

So Hannity is deliberately downplaying the consequences of the U.S. government defaulting on its debt, which would result in a government shutdown that would cripple the country and tank the economy worldwide. And he admits that all he’s interested in is what Republicans can get for their sabotage. He falsely claims that checks for Social Security and Medicare, and military operations and many more vital government services would still proceed without interruption. Republicans have brought us to this brink before, so he knows that isn’t true.

Greene weighed in with a bizarre reference to the number of years that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have served in Congress. First of all, she’s conveniently leaving out the longest serving members, such as Mitch McConnell and Chuck Grassley in the Senate, and Hal Rogers and Chris Smith in the House – all Republicans. The she adds…

“It’s a serious issue and the spending in Washington that’s happened for decades now with both parties is the reason why we’re in this terrible place. And Republicans are committed to work on the budget. We want to get it under control, we want it to be balanced and we want to reduce the national debt. […] I, for one, will not sign a clean bill raising the debt limit.”

Who wants to tell Greene that members of Congress do not “sign” bills, clean or otherwise? Does she think she’s the President? However, she appears to be willing to sign a dirty bill, which is a good description of the muddy legislation that the GOP is likely to produce.

Greene knows, or ought to know, that raising the debt ceiling has no impact whatsoever on spending. If she’s serious about being “committed to work on the budget,” there is nothing stopping her from doing so after voting to increase the debt limit, which applies only to financial obligations made in the past.

Greene can also continue her pursuit of the perennially preposterous idea of a balanced budget. It’s funny that Republicans have long insisted that the government should be run like a business, but don’t seem to know that businesses do not have balanced budgets. They operate on credit, just like the government and most American households.

If Hannity and Greene were truly interested in reducing the debt, they would do what Biden and the Democrats have been doing that resulted in the deficit declining by $1.4 trillion last year. And for the record, Trump increased the debt by nearly $8 trillion dollars – much of that was due to his tax cut that benefited corporations and the wealthy – and ne’er a word of criticism was heard from the GOP or Fox News. And Republicans still haven’t proposed any spending cuts, except to programs that benefit middle and lower income Americans, and law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and Homeland Security.
