Fox News: Take Kids Out of School Because They Teach Hating White People

It’s must be getting awfully difficult for the Fox News cult disciples to figure out what they are supposed to be doing. Ever since the election of Joe Biden, their tele-ministry has become cognitively dysfunctional, even as its CEO admitted publicly that it is anti-Biden. It can’t seem to settle on which phony scandal to promote, so they are cycling between piddling idiocies that range from Dr. Seuss to Mr. Potato Head.

Fox News, KKK

On Sunday Fox’s Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, hosted Candace Owens, the right’s designated Black racism denier and racial disinformation dispenser. Bartiromo primed the discussion by relating a story told to her by a friend, and parlayed it into a universal assertion that at all schools “They are assuming that every kid is a racist.” Owens took that baton a ran with it saying that…

“I know that Megyn Kelly pulled her kids from school for similar reasons. This is a big topic that I cover extensively. I truly believe that it’s time for us to pull our kids out of school. And I know people say, ‘Not all of us can afford to do that.’ But the country wasn’t built on people having a lot of money when they were homeschooling.”

For several months now, many schools have shifted to online platforms due to the risk of exacerbating the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Republicans have been furiously demanding that schools be reopened throughout the country regardless of the danger it represents to students, their families, and their communities. But now Owens is adamant that kids must be removed from the schools that she and her right-wing confederates insist must be open. And it’s notable that she cites notorious racist, Megyn Kelly, to support her ludicrous rant. She continued with her explanation for why kids must be removed from the reopened schools:

“We’re starting to see this more and more. It’s indoctrination that’s happening They’re trying to fuel racism in this country. They’re trying to teach us Marxist ideology. And the bad thing is, Maria, that they’re replacing hard academics. These kids are not learning science. They’re not learning mathematics. They’re learning how to hate white people and they’re learning how to hate their country.”

Really? Owens didn’t provide any evidence of her allegation that schools are teaching kids to hate white people. Then she concluded by complaining that schools are trying to “guarantee that they have an ignorant group of people that vote based on emotion.” But all of her wholly unsupported arguments are pure projection. They precisely describe the conservative curriculum that eschews science in favor of faith and rightist political doctrine.

Bartiromo heartily agreed with Owens, declaring that “This has got to stop.” Then she veered off to an entirely different subject, the Democratic legislation to protect and enhance voting rights (H.R. 1), that the GOP has deemed demonic. Without flinching, Owens slid right along and insisted that there is no voter suppression in America, despite the fact that just this year Republicans have drafted more than 250 bills in 43 states explicitly aimed at suppressing voter turnout, specifically among Black and Latino voters.

Don’t hurt yourself trying to find any logic in any of this. The position of Fox News and its professional outrage generators isn’t based on either reason or facts. It is an enterprise built from its inception to manufacture anger, fear, and the cult-like devotion that those feelings produce. And Fox News clearly intends to continue that mission into the post-Trump era.

GOP Chair Tweets Proof Biden Was Right About Trump’s COVID Lies 8 Months Ago

The Republican Party has devolved into nothing more than a culture war slogan dispenser, spending all of its time and energy contriving faux outrage and divisiveness. They have no discernible policies to promote and are relying on the cult appeal of Donald Trump to sustain them until the next election.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump Baby, Fake News

Consequently, The GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) is focused tightly on critical issues like Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. And they’re tired of hearing about all the dead Americans due to the COVID pandemic that Trump ignored and/or botched. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress voted unanimously against the American Rescue Plan, the most popular legislation in generations.

This callous disregard for the welfare of the nation is integral to the Republican agenda going forward. But since they have no affirmative plans, they are reaching back to distort recent history and claim victories that exist only in their fevered imaginations. For instance, Ronna Romney McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee, tweeted Saturday morning that “As President Trump was delivering results on the vaccine, Joe Biden was sowing doubt about its efficacy…”

Let’s set aside that McDaniel is still referring to the former guy as “President,” but the current president as “Joe.” The more salient point is that there is nothing resembling the truth in that twantrum. What Biden actually said last July in the video that McDaniel posted is that…

“We’ve got to make sure vaccines are produced and distributed safely, efficiently, and fairly, with independent FDA transparency. And the full FDA public report made public. Because people are already saying ‘If we get a vaccine I’m not sure I’m going to take it. This guy’s lied to us about everything else.'”

Clearly President Biden was not sowing doubts about the vaccine. He was recognizing that the American people already had fully justifiable doubts about Trump’s honesty. All Biden was calling for was full disclosure of the data that would lead to the vaccine’s approval. The fact that so many people don’t trust Trump is what Biden was concerned about. And his remarks were intended to resolve any hesitancy to getting vaccinated, not sow doubts about it.

McDaniel was also wrong about Trump “delivering results on the vaccine.” He had done nothing productive other than inventing a PR campaign that he dubbed “Operation Warp Speed,” which was just another sham that accomplished nothing. In reality, last July Trump was still downplaying the severity of the pandemic, while boasting about phony “achievements”

Trump tweet

Trump was bragging about “doing so well” when the death toll for the coronavirus was at 150,000. That was horrible. But it’s more than tripled since then. And in light of that, McDaniel thought it would be useful to post a tweet that lied about Trump’s negligence and incompetence, while inadvertently affirming Biden’s honesty and foresight. Thanks, Ronna.

COVIDIOTS: Fox News Accidentally Reminds Viewers that Republicans Hate America

The first major legislation of 2021 was passed and signed into law by President Joe Biden on Thursday. It was the American Rescue Plan (ARP) that provided $1.9 trillion dollars of relief and stimulus funds to help people and businesses suffering through the deadly COVID pandemic. The bill was broadly popular across the country and across the political spectrum, including by a majority of Republicans.

Fox News Alert

Nevertheless, the Republican Party that inhabits Congress was uniformly opposed to the plan. Every single member of the GOP in the House and the Senate voted against it, despite it’s support among their own constituents. And that wholesale rejection of what may be be the most popular legislation in generations was also displayed on the Republican Propaganda Network, aka Fox News.

Fox News spent the last week maligning both the bill and its Democratic sponsors, especially President Biden. Well, that’s when they weren’t throwing hissy fits about the alleged “cancelling” of Dr. Seuss or Mr. Potato Head. For the most part Fox ignored Biden’s public events in favor of embarrassingly trivial distractions or ludicrous attempts at criticism.

However, on Friday Fox News tried a new tactic. They actually covered (briefly) Biden’s announcement of his plans to educate the public about the benefits of the ARP and how they can take full advantage of it (video below). Of course, Fox’s idea of covering any Democratic event involves portraying it in the most negative and, if possible, frightening way they can dream up. To that end Fox aired part of the Biden speech with this message below the video: “Biden Celebrates Deal No Republican Supported.”

Sometimes it’s particularly difficult to figure out what’s going on behind the sloped foreheads of Fox News staffers. Surely they believed that this message would advance their ultra-rightist agenda and appeal to their glassy-eyed audience of StormTrumpers. However, there’s a pretty good chance that Fox is just reminding their viewers that every Republican in Congress voted against a bill that the vast majority of them supported.

To the extent that this flagrantly biased graphic was so poorly thought out that it results in alienating people from the GOP, we should be grateful for Fox’s stupidity. Unfortunately, that same aspect of asininity more often traps their audience in the heavy spin cycle of their brainwashing machine. So we can’t really enjoy these random acts of mindlessness. But for this fleeting moment in time, it’s kinda fun.

Fox News is ‘Over the 500,000 Dead’ from COVID, Demands More Trump Praise

Just when you thought you couldn’t be more nauseated by the callous insensitivity of cretinous Fox News Trump-fluffers, another one bursts through the basement floor to find a new and more disgusting low. They appear to be on an unholy mission to dissociate entirely from humanity. They can stop now. They’ve arrived.

Donald Trump, Mask, Fox News

On Friday morning’s episode of Fox and Friends, the “Curvy Couch” potatoes eagerly leapt into a segment aimed at disparaging the speech that President Joe Biden gave on Thursday night. He was addressing the nation’s current state with regard to the COVID pandemic. That speech was widely lauded for achieving a difficult balance between mourning the past and hope for the future.

Except, of course, on Fox News where it was predictably maligned by the usual suspects, including Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Mark Levin who called it “the most disgusting, propagandistic speech that a demagogue, even a politician, has ever given.” Hyperbole much?

Throughout the speech Fox News displayed messages begging their viewers to stay tuned for “live reactions from Tucker Carlson.”

However, the Fox regulars are going to have to try harder to exceed the heinous heartlessness of Fox “Friend” Brian Kilmeade. Here is what he had to say the morning after Biden’s compassionate consolation:

“We don’t need to go over the 500,000 dead, we had that moment. Let’s talk about the future moving forward. Every time he has a chance to praise the previous administration, he not only doesn’t praise, he kicks them in the groin.”

REALLY? Kilmeade thinks the nation should just “move forward” after having having lost more than half a million souls. Tens of millions of families are grieving. But in Kilmeade’s diseased brain their “moment” is over and that’s all they get. As if the pain has subsided and the prospect of dining out and getting haircuts will provide all the solace that’s needed now. WTF is wrong with him? And, by the way, his co-hosts who said nothing, and his bosses, Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, who allow this sort of garbage air every day.

What’s more, Kilmeade thinks that concern for our deceased brethren should be replaced by accolades to Donald Trump, the single person most responsible for the hundreds of thousands of fatalities, many of which were avoidable, but for his negligence, incompetence, and deliberate malfeasance. Kilmeade thinks it was Biden’s obligation to pay tribute to a remorseless Trump in a speech aimed at consoling a somber and fearful nation.

Kilmeade doesn’t give a damn about the casualties of the coronavirus, but he’s damn perturbed about a figurative kick in the groin to Trump, which actually didn’t exist in Biden’s speech at all. In fact, Kilmeade was so vexed by the Biden address that he made up numerous “offenses” and other reasons to ignore reality and attack those who are actually contributing to the healing. For instance, after disparaging Biden’s sincere attempts to unify a broken nation, he went after Dr. Anthony Fauci in an unhinged tirade that was replete with lies and purposefully distorted misrepresentations of Dr. Fauci’s comments over the past year:

“Can we stop praising Anthony Fauci, saying he is world renown? Everyone might know him, but I don’t know how many people should be listening to him. […] He has been wrong every step of the way.”

SERIOUSLY? And Trump was right? Trump, who said the coronavirus was no worse than the common flu? Trump, who politicized the pandemic that he claimed would magically disappear in a matter of days? Trump, who peddled quack cures like bleach and hydroxychloroquine and advocated “herd mentality” (sic)? Trump, who took no responsibility for the devastation he caused, and still doesn’t? Trump, who admitted that he downplayed the severity of the pandemic?

Yeah, that Trump. That’s who Fox News thinks should be celebrated in lieu of “wasting” more time consoling the aggrieved and honoring their memories. It’s just the latest loathsome commentary on a network dedicated to worshiping their cult leader. But if you expect this to be the rock bottom, you don’t know Fox News.

Fox News Faux ‘Experts’ Reject CDC Guidance For People Fully Vaccinated For COVID-19

The chasm between Fox News and reality continues to grow wider every day. Their hosts and guests are devoted to spreading flagrant falsehoods and easily refuted disinformation that contributes massively to the volume of sheer ignorance in America. But worse, it isn’t just idiocy-inducing, it’s dangerous, and even deadly.

Fox News, Covid

On Monday’s edition of Tucker Carlson’s White Nationalist Hour on Fox News (video below), he interviewed a frequent guest, Alex Berenson, whose primary credential for appearing on Fox is his facility for lying about subjects for which he has no knowledge or experience. In this case it’s the coronavirus pandemic. That’s a subject where studies have proven that watching Fox News actually increases fatalities.

Berenson’s prior Fox outings have seen him declaring that masks don’t work, asserting that lockdowns are ineffective and political, and advocating herd immunity by everyone deliberately getting infected. Were Berenson’s advice to be taken tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands more Americans would be dead. But that hasn’t stopped him from disgorging his anti-scientific blather, which Carlson eagerly agrees with.

Carlson introduced Berenson, noting that he was “baffled” by the new CDC guidance for those who have been fully vaccinated. Which might explain Carlson’s perpetual facial contortion. Berenson explained it to Carlson saying that the guidelines are “unrealistic” and that the vaccines themselves are phony:

“It is increasingly clear that the vaccines aren’t quite as effective as that 95% headline figure given. So the honest thing to do say is ‘Look vaccines aren’t 95% effective. They’re not gonna be the miracle that ends this tomorrow, or in a week or a month. We’re still gonna have to live with this on some level.'”

Berenson went on to offer the recklessly fatal advise that “You can drop a lot of the nonsense that we’ve been telling you need to do for the last year,” and that the CDC’s guidance is “totally unrealistic.” To which Carlson replied, in a moment of unintended self-awareness, “Yes, well, lying begets lying.” And who would know that better than Carlson?

Berenson has degrees in economics and history, but nothing relating to medicine or healthcare. Yet he he is presented as an expert on infectious diseases and pandemic management. His shoddy analysis contradicts doctors and epidemiologists with decades of actual relevant experience. But more troubling is that the Fox babble breeds public reluctance to get the vaccine that will not only protect them and their families, it will put the whole nation on a path to normality as virus transmission recedes and variants are suppressed.

Berenson and Carlson pretend to be interested in people being able to live more normal lives, but what they propose will only make that less likely, and only after more tragic loss of life. Why anyone would listen to Berenson is beyond comprehension. Last October he tweeted that projections of “500,000 US #Covid deaths by spring” was an example of the experts being “wrong over and over.”

Berenson may have a point. The actual number to date is more than 525,000, and it isn’t even Spring yet. That’s the sort of “expertise” that Fox News viewers are being fed on a daily basis. It’s a diet of dangerously ignorant lies driven by right-wing politics and ratings. And the sad part is that these cretins simply don’t care how many people suffer due to their egos and greed.

For good measure, in the same program Carlson displayed his rank bigotry by complaining about essential workers being prioritized for vaccine distribution. What bothered him about this is that many people in “essential” occupations are racial and ethnic minorities. Carlson concluded, therefore, that white people (who are currently way over-represented among those vaccinated) would be adversely affected. He called it “eugenics.” And aside from this being a disgusting display of overt racism, it’s also hypocrisy on a grand scale. After all, he doesn’t believe the vaccine is actually effective or needed. So what’s he bitching about? Other than his perception that people of color are being treated fairly for once.

Fox News Obsesses Over Biden Press Conferences – That They Refuse to Air

For four years Fox News covered virtually every public utterance by Donald Trump live and uninterrupted. They aired his cult rallies, his Coronavirus Task Force briefings, his staged, photo-op bill signings, his random and rancid rants, his lie-riddled “chopper talks,” and more. The network could have been re-branded as a 24/7 Trump Channel.

Donald Trump Fox News

Now that Joe Biden is residing in the White House, Fox News has adopted an entirely different editorial approach to covering the President of the United States. And it isn’t just the blatantly negative bias against Biden that Fox’s CEO recently admitted is the core of their mission. That bias is remarkably strained because Fox has so little of substance to complain about. Consequently they focus on absurd and irrelevant distractions like Biden’s dog, Neanderthals, Mr. Potato Head, and Dr. Seuss. That’s emblematic of Fox’s editorial priorities.

Meanwhile, there has been a flurry of verbal venom aimed at Biden for his alleged reluctance to face questions from the press. However, while he hasn’t held a formal news conference, he has taken questions on numerous occasions addressing such critical and diverse subjects as containing the COVID-19 pandemic, and providing relief and stimulus; racial equity; climate change; healthcare; and immigration.

Clearly Biden has a lot on his plate following the calamitous tenure of Trump. These are matters of profound importance that need to be tackled with an appropriate sense of urgency. There will be plenty of time for press conferences once the nation’s stability and security have been restored. Jen Psaki, Biden’s press secretary, has indicated that a press conference will be scheduled before the end of March. But that hasn’t calmed the dread that is consuming Fox News. For the past few days they have demonstrated just how obsessed they are with this non-scandal as seen in these headlines:

  • Hidin’ Biden – still no presidential press conference but Dems like basement strategy
  • White House ‘protecting’ Biden by not scheduling press conferences: Karl Rove
  • Biden team ‘has zero confidence’ that ‘absentee president’ can handle press conference
  • Biden still hasn’t held a press conference after 43 days in office
  • Psaki says Biden will hold press conference ‘before the end of the month’
  • Kayleigh McEnany: Biden vowed ‘transparency’ but has still not held a solo press conference

How many times do they have to do the same story? McEnany, Trump’s fourth and final press secretary who has already been hired by Fox News, “bragged” about Trump’s availability to the press saying that “He was always willing to take questions, always willing to go to the podium, always willing to stop on his way to the helicopter.” What she left out was that Trump spent most of that time lying and insulting the reporters.

On another segment McEnany wondered “Where’s Joe? It’s been 41 days.” Her new Fox colleague, Sean Hannity, similarly asked “Where is our commander-in-chief? You know, that new guy?” But what has the pungent stench of hypocrisy is that Fox News wouldn’t cover Biden’s press conferences if they were being held.

To date Fox News has not aired a single White House press briefing, which the Biden team has returned to doing daily. Nor have they aired a single press conference by the White House COVID-19 Response Team. Recall that Fox News aired every similar event during the Trump administration. Fox didn’t even air the congressional hearings on the January 6th Trump Insurrection.

Given their disinterest in what President Biden has to say – unless they can distort it to make him look bad – the complaints by Fox News about press conferences are irrelevant and should be ignored. We know that when Biden does hold a press conference, Fox will be covering the “canceling” of a Muppet, or a shady pillow huckster, or some other ridiculous, politically partisan, culture war demagoguery. It’s what they do.

Fox News Can’t Seem to Find Joe Biden – They Must Be Watching Fox News

Another day – another opportunity for Fox News to pretend that President Joe Biden doesn’t exist. For six weeks now Fox News has avoided virtually every public event held by Biden and his administration. They have not aired a single one of his COVID Response Team’s press conferences. Nor have they covered a single one his press secretary’s daily briefings.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump Baby, Fake News

What’s more, Fox News failed to cover the congressional hearings on the January 6th Capitol riots where Donald Trump’s Insurrectionist Brigades staged a deadly assault on democracy. Fox ignored the testimony of FBI Director Christopher Wray, as well as that of the police and security forces that Trump’s flunkies prevented from responding.

By contrast, Fox would carry live airings of Trump burping after slurping down a Diet Coke. Every time Trump showed his face, Fox would dutifully scamper to the scene to broadcast his blatant propaganda and his flagrant and unchallenged lies. Which makes it all the more appalling that Fox’s Sean Hannity would host the network’s newest disinformer, former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, to pose the burning question: Where’s Joe?

“My question is ‘Where’s Joe?’ It’s been 41 days. At this point President Trump had multiple press appearances. press conferences. President Obama did as well. Joe Biden needs to step up. We need to hear from him. He needs to engage in the transparency he promised us. He hasn’t thus far.”

Perhaps the reason that McEnany and Hannity can’t find Biden is that they’ve been looking for him on Fox News. The truth is that Biden has been making numerous public appearances throughout the first few weeks of his term. The subjects he addressed include:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
  • Passing the COVID relief and stimulus plan
  • Racial Equity
  • Containing the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Reversing the 2018 transgender military ban
  • Boosting american manufacturing
  • Climate Change
  • Strengthening Obamacare
  • Immigration reform
  • Jobs and infrastructure
  • Helping small businesses
  • Commemorating 500,000 American lives lost to COVID-19

This isn’t the first time that Hannity has admitted his dreadfully poor journalistic skills failed him. A couple of weeks ago he whined that he couldn’t find Biden during the massive winter storm that devastated Texas. Never mind that Biden was paying close attention and issued emergency declarations to jump start the federal response. It was Texas Sen. Ted Cruz who went missing, as he jetted off to sunnier climes in Cancun, Mexico. But then it was Hannity who complained about “Biden’s Disastrous First Week” after only one day in office.

In place of reporting on the current President of the United States and what he’s doing on behalf of the American people, Fox News has been obsessed with bizarre allusions to what they call “cancel culture.” Lately this has featured tediously repeated segments alleging that Dr. Seuss books have been “canceled” in what they claim is fascism. Fox is blaming this atrocity on Democrats, despite the fact that it was the estate of Dr. Seuss that independently chose to cease publication of a few books that they deemed to be racially insensitive. And of course, let’s not forget that it was Fox who was “canceling” Dr. Seuss not long ago:

Finally, the most prolific “canceler” has to be Donald Trump, who has canceled Fox News. He’s canceled American companies. And he’s even canceled a flock of “disloyal” Republicans. He is a raging volcano of vengeance, determined to destroy anyone who isn’t completely faithful to the Cult of Trump. And while Fox is having trouble finding Biden, it’s actually Trump who has been hiding in his Mar-a-Lago bunker, afraid to poke his head out except for his adoring disciples at CPAC.

Sean Hannity Trolls a Year Old Comment By Dr. Fauci, Ignores His Own Idiocy

The deadly lies by Donald Trump and his media confederates about the coronavirus pandemic have resulted in the tragic deaths of more than half a million Americans. And yet, they continue to brag that their negligence and incompetence has prevented unnecessary fatalities. It’s a charade that masks a psychopathic disregard for the welfare of human lives.

Fox News Sean Hannity

Topping the list of the Trumpian COVID deniers is Sean Hannity of Fox News. From the very start he has been defending Trump’s reckless downplaying of the severity of the pandemic (to which Trump admitted) and regurgitating his flagrant falsehoods. The degree to which Hannity advanced these lies resulted in a study that confirmed that higher rates of coronavirus deaths could be directly linked to watching Hannity.

On Tuesday Hannity thought he would post another of his attempts to “own the libs” by plucking a year old comment by Infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, completely out of context. Hannity tweeted that…

Of course, Hannity was demonstrating his notorious dishonesty and compulsion to distort reality. Dr. Fauci’s statement was far more nuanced than Hannity’s deceitful editing implies. What Dr. Fauci actually said in February of 2020, before much was known about the virus, was that…

“Right now there’s no need to change anything you’re doing on a day-by-day basis. The risk is low, but that could change.”

He went on to say that there could be a major outbreak, but that it was just not possible to know at that time.

Hannity, on the other hand, made some comments around the same time last year that totally perverted any resemblance to the facts. He told his viewers that the whole matter was a plot by Democrats to hurt Trump. He assured them that there were zero virus deaths in the United States, and that there was nothing to worry about because Trump was handling everything perfectly.

That was 500,000 deaths (and 28 million cases) ago. And now Hannity has the nerve to criticize Dr. Fauci who quite correctly assessed the situation at a moment in time – being careful to make that clear – and who is informed by the knowledge that scientists understand that things change as new data is acquired.

Hannity, on the other hand, ignores facts in favor of fallacies that advance his self-serving agenda and benefit his political idols. And his perceptions remain stuck in ideological concrete no matter how much new information is introduced, or the harm that his stubborn commitment to outdated information will cause. Just like Trump, he ls literally killing his dimwitted followers.

Kayleigh McEnany Tells Fox News She Was SHOCKED By the Violence – that Trump Incited

On Tuesday morning the newest member of the Fox News family made her debut on the conservative propaganda network. Former Donald Trump Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, sat for an interview with Fox’s Harris Faulkner. The segment was as jam-packed with the lies and worshipful adoration that was typical of her many prior appearances on Fox News and her infrequent, always hostile, White House press briefings.

Kayleigh McEnany, Donald Trump

McEnany’s interview aired while FBI Director Christopher Wray was testifying before the Senate about the January 6th Capitol riots. CNN and MSNBC were airing the hearing. Fox News apparently considered McEnany’s interview more newsworthy. Although the riots were a featured part of the interview:

“I think at the beginning of the day before everyone went to the rally, everyone was expecting peace. […] And then as those events transpired, it was disbelief, shock, somber, sad, horrified by the violence. and it was a very hard, difficult day in the White House, there was no doubt. It was a, I should say, widespread feeling, synonymous feeling, completely. A feeling that everyone felt just completely condemning the actions of that day.”

https://twitter.com/TVNewsHQ/status/1366523851300098050

If McEnany was “shocked” by the tragic events that resulted in five deaths and numerous injuries, she must have been in a self-induced coma. The FBI had issued warnings of anticipated hostilities prior to Trump’s inflammatory cult rally. According to the Washington Post

“A day before rioters stormed Congress, an FBI office in Virginia issued an explicit warning that extremists were preparing to travel to Washington to commit violence and ‘war.'” […]

“[T]he alarming Jan. 5 intelligence document was shared ‘with all our law enforcement partners’ through the joint terrorism task force, which includes the U.S. Capitol Police, the U.S. Park Police, D.C. police, and other federal and local agencies.”

What’s more, McEnany’s assertion that there were “synonamous” [sic] feelings of disbelief and horror doesn’t align with the reality as described at the time by former Trump aides who said that “Trump enjoyed watching the events unfold. He was ‘loving watching the Capitol mob.'” Trump himself, in reluctant remarks made hours after the riots began, told the rioters that “We love you,” and that “You’re very special.” The interview continued with Faulkner asking McEnany whether she thought Trump bore any responsibility. Guess what she said:

“No, no I don’t. […] What those rioters did, you know the left says he’s responsible, he’s incited this – or even other Republicans – What I would say to them, well these rioters, if they were so inspired by what the President was saying – they left the speech early because reportedly they showed up at the Capitol before the end of his speech – and then they did the exact opposite of what he said. He said march peacefully and patriotically, and they did the opposite.”

Of course, McEnany is highlighting a few incidental seconds in Trump’s speech at the rally. She’s leaving out months of Trump’s incendiary rhetoric as well as his exhortation at the rally that “if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

McEneny went on to describe some people she met months earlier during the campaign who were nice to her, as if that excused the actions of the Trump Insurrectionists. She insisted that the violence was done by people who “do not represent our movement,” despite Trump’s loving embrace of them. She also lied about the focus in the White House being on maintaining peace, contrary to reports by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy who, in a desperate and profanity-laced phone call, begged Trump for more security, but was told by Trump that the rioters cared more about the election results than McCarthy did.

For the record, McEnany is contradicting Trump, who now says that he requested 10,000 National Guard troops prior to the rally. That, of course, is also a lie. If he had done so, they would have been there. And let’s not forget that McEnany is just as guilty of propagating the Big Lie about the election being “stolen” as Trump is. She also swore that the coronavirus would never come to the United States. Now she’s following her Trump administration colleague, Larry Kudlow, into the Fox News bubble where they can lie with impunity and get paid big bucks for it. Never mind the harm it does politically, and even physically, as we learned on January 6th.

The one truthful statement that McEnany made in this interview was that Trump “changed the Republican Party forever.” Curiously, she portrayed that in a positive light, despite his having presided over the loss of the House, the Senate, and the presidency, and being the lowest rated president in history. He even failed to impress the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Cult (CPAC), where he drew support for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination from only 55% of the attendees. And if that’s the best he can do in a made-for-Trump crowd, he’s looking at losing again in 2024, if he’s dumb enough to run (which he is).

UPDATE: McEnany has already been promoted to co-host of Fox’s Outnumbered>

CPAC: Conservative Political Action Cult Disciples Ask ‘What Are Our Marching Orders?’

As a testament to the efficiency and competency of Donald Trump and his ultra-rightist brigades, the website for the Conservative Political Action cult (CPAC) has been down for hours, and still is at the time of this writing. And this is on the big day when Trump is delivering his first “Post-Presidential Losers Address.” Metaphors abound.

Donald Trump Rally, Sieg Heil

Why anyone is looking forward to Trump’s speech is a complete mystery. Anyone who has been watching him for the past few years knows exactly what he’s going to say. He will touch on the only four speaking elements he knows: Lying, whining, insulting, and bragging.

Prior to the Trump keynote, Matt Schlapp, the head of the American Conservative Union that stages this affair, delivered his own remarks. The interview that followed began with the moderator asking what he said was the question uppermost on the minds of the conference attendees:

Moderator: I went around the lobby this morning asking people what they wanted me to ask you. And person after person said “Ask Matt what are our marching orders.”

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that these glassy-eyed devotees of Trump are pensively pacing the halls of the Hyatt wondering what in hell they should be doing and pleading for some authority figure to provide the guidance they require to function.

Schlapp responded with a quote by Pope Paul II, who said “Be not afraid.” And then said that “they’re trying to make you afraid,” Schlapp warned. “They’re trying to make you afraid that you’ll lose your job if you have a MAGA hat.” He went on to criticize violent demonstrations and assaults on police without mentioning the Trump Insurrection at the Capitol or the cops who were killed and injured there by Trump supporters. And then he closed by saying that…

“We have to start – each one of us – saying that this is the truth. And we are gonna keep saying that. And if all of us do it together, guess what? they can’t can’t shut half of us up. They simply can’t. If red states are joined by people of goodwill who love the country, they will not cancel America.”

In other words, keep on repeating the lies we’ve mapped out like a mantra until it is indelibly engraved on your otherwise useless grey matter. Keep telling yourself that Trump won by a landslide; that the election was stolen; that Trump is an infallible beacon of virtue; that Democrats are sex-trafficking baby eaters. And your desires will be fulfilled on March 4th when Trump is inaugurated as the 19th President of the United States – unless he isn’t and we have to think up some other idiotic conspiracy theory.

The results of the annual CPAC straw poll were also released and they contained some interesting revelations. For instance, when asked “Would you like to see Donald Trump run again for president in 2024?” only 64% of the respondents said “Yes.” Another 15% said “No,” and 17% were unsure. That’s a pretty awful number for a pool of devoted Trumpists, 87% of whom strongly approved of his job as president.

Also surprising was the response to the question “If the Republican primary were held today, who would you vote for?” Only 55% chose Trump. Florida governor Ron DeSantis got 21% (the conference is being held in Florida). No one else got above 4%.

If Trump’s support is this shaky among this crowd, it’s impossible for him and his shills to keep pretending that he’s the presumptive nominee for 2024, much less the future of the crumbling Republican Party. And of course, none of this takes into consideration the prospect that it will be difficult for him to campaign from prison.
