Watch Fox News Host Prove that She’s Lying About Democrats Using A.l. to Alter Trump’s Words

The mission of Fox News from its inception has been to promote far-right politics and the Republican Party. However, in recent years it has shifted to an even more extreme bias in favor one Republican in particular. The Fox News devotion to Donald Trump and his MAGA cult has been an all-consuming obsession that abandons any connection to journalism or even patriotism.

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

Consequently, Fox News has never felt compelled to provide any factual basis for their flagrantly dishonest propaganda. It’s why they produce stories like the the one this week about President Biden allegedly prohibiting religious symbols on Easter eggs during the White House holiday event, when that was a rule that’s been in place for 45 years, including during Trump’s occupation of the White House. It’s why Fox News often winds up inadvertently slamming their own GOP allies who they regard as insufficiently committed to lock-step party uniformity, like good fascists…

SEE THIS: Has Fox News Finally Figured it Out? ‘This is Why Conservatives Call the GOP the Stupid Party’

On Thursday morning, Fox News host Harris Faulkner unleashed a segment wherein she disgorged her outrage at Democrats who she accused of distorting Trump’s words. Of course, Democrats have no need to distort anything Trump says, because his rhetoric is heinously offensive without any artificial alteration.

Nevertheless, Faulkner made the wholly unsupported allegation that some unnamed nefarious Democrat employed Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to alter what Trump said at his cult rally in Michigan.

Faulkner: It didn’t happen the way the Dems say it did. Here’s a clip that Team Biden posted from Trump’s speech in Michigan this week…
Trump (Video): Democrats said “Please don’t call them animals.” I said “No, they’re not humans. They’re animals.”
Faulkner: Here’s what he actually said. Trump’s words. Actually said this…
Trump (Video): The 22 year old nursing student in Georgia who was barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal. The Democrats said “Please don’t call them animals.” I said “No, they’re not humans. They’re animals.”
Faulkner: First of all, how in the world did they edit all those words together to even put something like what they had. That’s amazing. […] What are they using? A.I.?”

OMG: Did everyone notice that Faulkner’s video of Trump’s blatant racism said exactly the same thing as the video that Faulkner said was the work of Democrats? The only difference was Trump’s preface about the tragically murdered student (about whom he lied saying he had spoken to her family). But that didn’t change the racist context of his remarks at all. He didn’t call just the alleged murderer an animal. He said that “THEY are animals.” It was a clear reference to all migrants.

Contrary to Faulkner’s deliberate lie, there was no modification whatsoever, A.I. or otherwise. Her amazement at how Democrats supposedly “edit(ed) all those words together” is bizarre, considering that the words were identical. And this was her own video “proof” of some sort of Democratic deception? The real question is not “What are they using?” It’s “What is SHE using?”

And yet, the Fox News viewers will likely fail to see any problem with this bullpucky. They will swallow it whole and come away believing that Democrats manufactured everything that Trump said. And at the same time they will agree with everything that Trump said. That’s the nature of a cult. And Fox News is the Ministry of Disinformation for the Cult of Trump (aka the Republican Party), where Trump’s words can be simultaneously fake and correct.

Fox News and the GOP Are Now Dreaming of ‘Weaponizing’ the Justice Department Against Biden

Donald Trump’s MAGA Republican Party and its Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, deserve some “credit” for one thing: They have an inexhaustible supply of the mindless bullheadedness required to persist in pushing preposterous pseudo-legal smear campaigns despite having lost every attempt to spread their lies and malice.

Click here to Tweet this article

Joe Biden, GOP, Elephant

Republicans in the House of Representatives have spent more than a year “investigating” President Biden and his family, searching desperately for any shred of evidence that he committed some unarticulated crime. And despite having the power of the majority in the House, they have come up empty every time. Even worse, their own witnesses have testified that Biden has never done anything remotely illegal or impeachable.

SEE THIS: GOP Speaker Admits the Purpose of the Biden Impeachment Inquiry is to Hurt Biden Politically

None of that, however, has dissuaded them from their malicious mission to denigrate Biden and his family, and to subject them to vicious personal attacks without any basis in reality. And naturally, Fox News is right beside them to buttress their lies and defamation.

On Wednesday morning, Senior Fox News Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Rep. James Comer (R-MAGA), chair of the House Oversight Committee. And undeterred by the utter lack of any new or evidence or testimony, they resumed wallowing in the sort of dishonesty that resulted in Fox News having to pay $787 million for lying about election fraud. Bartiromo began with a question that included her own obvious bias…

Bartiromo: What else can you do get some accountability after all of this information that you say you’ve dug up?
Comer: I think the two best options moving forward are obviously criminal referrals and then impeachment. Impeachment is still on the table. There’s still an overwhelming majority of Republicans that agree with me that Joe Biden has committed impeachable offenses. Now our confidence level in the Senate is very low, but at the end of the day the criminal referrals are something that I believe – if we don’t have a Department of Justice today, hopefully in a year we will have a Department of Justice that can hold him accountable. But we’re gonna have the tools in place to hold this family accountable for the criminal wrongdoing that they have committed one way or the other.

Virtually every word of Comer’s reply is untrue. He has no path forward for impeachment, or he wouldn’t be resorting to criminal referrals. And he has no path forward for criminal referrals because their is no evidence of any crime, and the Department of Justice will surely laugh it off. Furthermore, Comer does not have an “overwhelming majority of Republicans” on his side or he would have brought it to the House floor for a vote.

What Comer is actually announcing is that he expects Trump to “weaponize” the Justice Department (something that Trump and the GOP regularly whine about) to prosecute his political opponent if he were to reoccupy the White House. Which would be peculiar since Trump insists that presidents have “total immunity” from any criminal prosecution.

SEE ALSO: Is Trump Now Saying that Presidents Do Not Have ‘Total Immunity’ – Or Just that Biden Doesn’t?

Apparently Fox News and Comer disagree with Trump. And Trump will disagree with himself if the opportunity arises, because he couldn’t care less about being consistent or even rational. The only thing Trump ever cares about is whatever he can bend to his self-interest at the moment.

Of course, none of this comes to pass if Biden is reelected. In which case, Comer’s “two best options” are losers before they even leave the gate. Which is a situation that he should be familiar with by now, considering all the losing he has suffered through so far.

THANKS DON: Trump’s Bashing of Mail-In Voting Has Created an Enduring Advantage for Democrats

Donald Trump has been especially upset lately over the criminal trials that he is subject to as a result of his compulsive misconduct and disrespect for the law. For the most part his outrage is expressed in pitiful whining that he is the victim of corrupt and/or biased prosecutors and judges who are engaging in “election interference.”

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Vote By Mail

To be clear, what Trump regards as election interference is merely that he is finally being held accountable for his many crimes – at least 88 felony charges so far. And that’s not counting the defamation and rape, and financial fraud civil lawsuits that he has already lost, and for which he has had to post a quarter of a billion dollars in appeal bonds. Needless to say, that has triggered another Trump tantrum…

SEE THIS: Trump Attacks Judge’s Daughter in Wild, Whiny, Rambling Rant, After Gag Order Was Issued

In light of Trump’s conviction that “OUR ELECTIONS ARE CORRUPT” (as he posted Tuesday morning), this would be a good time to reexamine Trump’s ideas for ensuring fair and secure elections. For years he has insisted that early voting and mail-in voting are irreparably contaminated by fraud and must be terminated. However, that position is creating some serious problems for the republican Party that he is supposed to be the leader of. NBC News is reporting that…

“National Republicans are attempting a shift to embrace mail-in and early voting to match what’s been a Democratic advantage in recent years.

“But interviews with nearly 20 Republican officials and voters across the country say there is lingering, and sometimes fierce, resistance to the idea — from Trump on down. The schism signals potential peril for the party in the fall if it once again fails to match Democrats’ on-the-ground ballot organization.

“It starts at the top. As the leader of the Republican Party, Trump has used his position to blast, without evidence, mail-in voting as a Trojan horse for widespread voter fraud. In the process, the former president has eroded trust in a method that was once widely embraced by many people in his party, putting Republicans at a disadvantage against Democrats.”

Indeed, Trump’s anti-mail-in voting obsession is making it harder for the GOP to bank votes in advance of an election. That results in lower turnout and higher campaign costs attempting to reach voters on election day and get them out to the polls. As GOP officials try to encourage early voting, Trump’s glassy-eyed cult disciples refuse to engage in a practice that their Dear Leader has instructed them is infected with nasty, democratic corruption.

Among the GOP officials encountering this obstacle is Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, who he recently installed as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC). Lara herself has been busy alienating her fellow Republicans. And she recently told the CPAC crowd that…

“If we want to compete with the Democrats, we cannot wait until Election Day. If we want to compete and win, we must embrace early voting. The days of waiting until Election Day to vote are over.”

Too bad her Sugardaddy-in-Law doesn’t agree with her. As recently as February Trump has been making the rounds of MAGA TV to warn his supporters to refrain from early and mail-voting.

“Mail in voting is totally corrupt. Get that through your head. It has to be. The votes. I mean, it has to be.” […And…] “If you have mail-in voting you automatically have fraud.”

Trump, of course, has good reason (in his warped mind) to oppose mail-in voting. And he isn’t afraid to reveal it to the world. Just to make sure that there wasn’t any confusion, Trump laid out specifically what the problem is with it.

“Any effort to dictate national Mail-In Voting will be a disaster for our Country and for conservatism. There will never be a Republican elected to high office again.”

And there you have it. However, what Trump seems oblivious to is that what he regards as a warning is likely to be viewed with delight by most Americans. The prospect that “There will never be a Republican elected to high office again,” is really more of a reward than a threat. So as for early and mail-in voting – bring it on. And let the Trumpies honor their hero by staying home and not succumbing to the corruption of American democracy.

Trump Sends His Easter Greetings to ‘Those Many People that I Completely and Totally Despise’

One of the best indicators of the malignant narcissism of Donald Trump is his consistent practice of making any and every holiday an opportunity to exalt himself. He does it on Christmas, and New Year’s, and Thanksgiving, and even on the Fourth of July.

Click here to Tweet this article

Flaming Trump

Of course, Trump can’t let any day go by without grasping for attention by lavishing praise on himself and/or scorn on his enemies. Buy he’s even more consumed with his own glorification on holidays that are observed by others. Heaven forbid that any day of remembrance be wasted remembering someone other than Trump.

FOR INSTANCE: Trump’s Craven Christmas Prayer for Presidential Immunity and an End to Yuletide Witch Hunts

On this Easter Sunday Trump has once again demonstrated his messianic delusions in a post on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. As usual, it was a long, rambling, tirade that threw in every pet peeve that he has been harboring for years. And all of it wrapped up in what he regards as a holiday greeting. He began…

“HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING CROOKED AND CORRUPT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES THAT ARE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, AND PUT ME IN PRISON, INCLUDING THOSE MANY PEOPLE THAT I COMPLETELY & TOTALLY DESPISE BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DESTROY AMERICA, A NOW FAILING NATION…”

Let’s pause to take a breath here. This is another example of Trump making everything about himself. Notice that Trump did not address his Easter greeting to any observant Christians who are celebrating the resurrection of their savior. True to form, Trump is filled with anger and hatred, resulting in his message being directed solely to those upon whom he seeks those famously Christ-like traits of retribution and revenge. And naturally, he denigrates America simply because its citizens have not embraced him as their deity.

Trump went on to single out as “SICK” and “EVIL” special prosecutor Jack Smith, Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, and New York D.A. Alvin Bragg. In his haste to post his contemptuous screed he forget to include New York Attorney General, Letitia James. But he didn’t leave out President Biden in a reference to “CROOKED JOE’S DOJ THUGS.”

This post came after more than 70 other posts on Easter morning. So even though his Easter greeting was mired in malice, it still didn’t have any priority over dozens of other posts such as his attack on Judge Merchan’s daughter, and his link to an article (in the Moonie Washington Times) comparing him to Christ titled “The Crucifixion of Donald Trump.”

What’s more, Trump posted comments lambasting Biden for a couple of phony outrages that were being spread by right-wing media. Such as…

  • The White House Easter Egg contest that restricted the use of religious symbols on the eggs. Never mind that those rules have been in effect for 45 years, including during the Trump years.
  • The wingnut uproar over the declaration of “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Once again, that was an event that has been recognized for since 2010, including while Trump occupied the White House.

And yet, the glassy-eyed disciples of the Trump cult remain transfixed by the rapist and blasphemous bible salesman with 88 felony charges pending, as their divine, albeit autocratic, redeemer. And Happy Easter to all those who continue to pledge their devotion and intention to follow Trump, straight into the pits of Hades if he so demands.

Fox News Hack Joins the Trump Cult Choir Proclaiming that ‘We’ve Always Seen Honesty with Trump’

The eagerness with which the disciples of the Donald Trump cult embrace what they regard as his divine perfection is always disconcerting. But from time to time they manage to transcend even their typical levels of blind devotion.

Click here to Tweet this article

Trump Lies

This is particularly noticeable on Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, where the glassy-eyed adoration of Dear Leader overtakes every measure of rationality. Characters like Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham and Jesse Watters can’t seem to contain their rabid reverence for the Messiah of Mar-a-Lago. It’s a reverence that Trump also feels about himself.

SEE THIS: Wannabe Messiah Trump Claims to Be Standing Up to the ‘Demonic Forces’ Destroying Our Country

Among the apostles of Trumpism on Fox News is Tammy Bruce. And she demonstrated her resolute affinity for Trump in a segment on Hannity’s show wherein she rapturously fawned over Trump as a beacon of truth…

“It perhaps is one of the most honest evenings we’ve seen in a very long time. We’ve always seen honesty with President Trump. One thing about that guy is that you know who he is. He is always going to be himself, he never adjusts the nature of what he’s going to say or do to trick people or to pander.”

REALLY? Bruce’s description of Trump as someone from whom “we’ve always seen honesty” is laughable. She is deeply ensconced in idol worship that makes her perception incomprehensibly twisted. After all, Trump has been documented to have told more than 30,000 lies during his occupation of the White House. But undeterred by reality, both he and Bruce see things through a delusional lens.

SEE ALSO: OMG! Pathological Liar Trump Says He is ‘the Most Honest Human Being God Ever Created’

What’s more, for anyone on Fox News to assess the honesty of Trump – or anyone else – is audacious in the extreme. Have they forgotten that Fox News settled a defamation lawsuit for $787 million after having been found to have lied purposefully and repeatedly about the 2020 presidential election being “rigged and stolen” from Trump.

From a certain perverse perspective, Bruce could be right. Yeah, Trump is honest in the sense that “He is always going to be himself.” So long as you accept that he is a pathological liar who will say anything that advances his interests at any moment in time, then sure. That is exactly who Trump is. And will always be.

The problem with that is that his cult followers continue to have unflinching faith in Trump as their savior whose every word is gospel. If he told them that they were too stupid to know that he was lying to them, they nod and agree. In fact, that’s pretty much how keeps them in line, despite his constant stream of falsehoods. And they love him for it.

Fox News Touts Their Own Poll that Reveals How Delusional Republicans Are About the Economy

The 2024 presidential election season is heating up as both candidates exert their best efforts to draw voters to their cause. Which for President Biden means campaigning vigorously in every swing state and advancing initiatives that benefit all Americans. For Donald Trump it means dining with rich pals at Mar-a-Lago, golfing, and sitting in courtrooms scowling and whining.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Fake News

The media’s horserace coverage of the campaign is predictably useless as they focus almost entirely on polls, while ignoring the substantive actions taken by the candidates. For instance, Biden is building national infrastructure, creating jobs, and protecting healthcare, including women’s reproductive rights. Trump, on the other hand, is pledging to cut Social Security, promising to release all of the violent January 6th insurrectionists, and doing infomercials for Trump-endorsed bibles.

SEE THIS: Rev. Trump is Peddling His ‘God Bless the USA Bible’ to Pay His Judgments for Fraud and Rape

Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is playing its staunchly Republican part in this political potboiler. They just released a poll that shows Trump leading Biden 50-45%, within the margin of error. And Fox’s Harris Faulkner thinks that she knows why Trump is enjoying a small lead.

“A new round of Fox News polling shows former president Trump widening his lead over President Biden. One big reason? The economy. Fifty-two percent of voters say they’re worse off financially today than they were in 2020, just before Biden took office.”

Faulkner appears to be oblivious to the fact that four years ago the nation was locked up in their homes, terrified of a deadly virus, losing their jobs as companies closed, and unable to find toilet paper or other household goods at the grocery stores. And The Republican respondents to the poll also seem to be suffering from the same selective amnesia.

Digging a little deeper, the poll found that among Democrats only 28% said they are worse off today than four years ago. However, it also found that 72% of Republicans consider themselves worse off now. That’s a disparity that makes no sense if it were actually tied to real world economic conditions. So the GOP respondents are either having memory lapses (a symptom of Long COVID) or they are lying to the pollsters for political reasons.

Another possibility is that Republicans actually are suffering more severe economic circumstances than Democrats because they live in states run by Republicans, where conditions are worse due to bad management and the insensitivity of GOP leaders to the real problems of their citizens. If that’s the case, then the Fox News poll is helpfully exposing the harm caused by electing Republicans.

It says something unmistakable that 72% of Democrats say they are the same or better off now, but only 27% of Republicans are saying that. Is that a problem caused by the President, or the GOP losers who are doing so poorly during a time of economic growth? Based on the results of this poll, who would you rather be now, a Democrat or a Republican? And based on your answer to that question, who would you rather vote for in November? And if you say “Republican,” you are validating the absurdity of the GOP responses in this poll. And what’s more, you deserve what you get.

Ronna McDaniel’s Debut on NBC’s Meet the Press is an Unmitigated Disaster For Both NBC and Her

The recent announcement that deposed Republican National Committee (RNC) chair, Ronna McDaniel, was hired as a political analyst at NBC, created a tsunami of criticism from viewers, journalists, and even NBC News staffers. And it wasn’t just because she was such an abysmal a failure as chair of the RNC, who lost elections and set record lows for fundraising.

Click here to Tweet this article

Ronna McDaniel on NBC

The primary complaint over McDaniel’s hiring was that she has been a relentless liar who personally participated in efforts to undermine democracy by suppressing legitimate (mostly minority) votes and backing plots to have fake electors “certify” Donald Trump as the winner of the 2020 election.

MORE HERE: Trump Toady Ronna McDaniel Lands at NBC After Being Ousted From the RNC

It didn’t take long for the scorching backlash to McDaniel’s hiring to have consequences for her on her new job. The Wall Street Journal reported that “MSNBC president Rashida Jones told employees that the liberal-leaning news network has no plans to put new NBC News contributor Ronna McDaniel on the cable outlet.” While that’s good news for MSNBC, it remains troubling that NBC is still planning to put her on the air, and that any news organization would consider such a brazen and potentially criminal liar employable.

On Sunday morning McDaniel made her inaugural appearance on Meet the Press. And it lived down to the expectations that media watchers had for it. Host Kristen Welker did a merely decent job of holding McDaniel’s feet to the fire. She got her to concede that she continues to be an election denier, and has no regrets about her role in trying to steal the 2020 election. She also got her to openly disagree with Trump’s promise to free the convicted, violent insurrectionists of January 6, 2021.

SEE ALSO: Trump’s Promise to Free January 6 Insurrectionists is a Recruiting Plan for the Next Insurrection

However, following the McDaniel interview, Welker led a panel discussion on her hiring (transcript here). And the commentaries from her new colleagues at NBC were brutal. For instance…

Chuck Todd: “Let me deal with the elephant in the room. I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting you in this situation because I don’t know what to believe. She is now a paid contributor by NBC News. I have no idea whether any answer she gave to you was because she didn’t want to mess up her contract. […] She has credibility issues that she still has to deal with.”

Kimberly Atkins Stohr: “Her credibility is completely shot. So I have to do what Maya Angelou said, I believe what they do and not anything that she said today. And in that I know that she habitually lied, she habitually joined Trump in attacking the press – members of the press, including this network, in a way that put journalists at risk, in danger.”

Stephen Hayes: “She has huge credibility problems, not because she’s been a partisan spinner on behalf of the Republican Party, but because she not only presided but directed, drove, the QAnonization of the Republican Party during her tenure. And it is the case that when you look at what she did with the fake electors specifically. […] She did a tremendous disservice to the country by making the argument that led to the erosion of faith. Half of the Republicans right now believe the election wasn’t fair.”

It’s tempting to muse that “When you’ve lost Chuck Todd…” But the cumulative impact of all of these criticisms is pretty astonishing. And you can’t help but wonder how the network can continue to employ someone who is unanimously seen as having zero credibility. For what purpose would they put any of her analysis on the air? Are they just trying to connect with the most deranged and deluded faction of the GOP, or what Fox News recently called “The Stupid Party”?

SEE THIS: Has Fox News Finally Figured it Out? ‘This is Why Conservatives Call the GOP the Stupid Party’

If NBC isn’t stupid, they will keep McDaniel on the bench and let her fade into obscurity. Unless they can convince her to flip on Trump and his MAGA Party, and spill the beans on what she surely knows of his criminality and the collaboration of the GOP that she led.

UPDATE I: The first reaction from MSNBC hosts came early Monday morning as Joe Scarborough announced that McDaniel will not be a guest on “Morning Joe,” citing her “role in Trump’s fake elector scheme and her pressuring election officials to not certify election results.” He further said that “We believe NBC News should seek out conservative Republican voices to provide balance in their election coverage, but it should be conservative Republicans, not a person who used her position of power to be an anti-democracy election denier.” (Video)

UPDATE II: Throughout the day on Monday, virtually every MSNBC host condemned McDaniel, chastised the network brass responsible for hiring her, and called for her to be dismissed. They included Nicolle Wallace, Joy Reid, Lawrence O’Donnell, and more. Rachel Maddow gave an especially moving monologue that connected the dots from historical fascists and demagogues to McDaniel, and  more broadly, Trump and the GOP. It’s hard to see how McDaniel can survive this repudiation from her new colleagues.

Update III: NBC has made a principled turnaround and decided to dump McDaniel. The network’s boss took responsibility for misguided hiring apologized to it. Naturally, McDaniel is said to be considering a lawsuit that would only further publicize her anti-American atrociousness.

Has Fox News Finally Figured it Out? ‘This is Why Conservatives Call the GOP the Stupid Party’

If it seems to you like every day Republicans in Congress do something new to humiliate themselves, while advancing their ultra-rightist smear campaigns against President Biden and other Democrats, and sucking up to their Dear Leader Donald Trump, then it’s clear that you are paying attention.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

It’s almost as if the GOP is purposefully planning these embarrassing political pratfalls as their strategy for winning back the White House. What else could explain stunts like the one that Marjorie Taylor Greene just pulled by filing a motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson after only five months as Speaker? And recall that he got that post because Republicans ousted the previous Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, after only nine months.

SEE THIS: DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Most Productive Ever (LOL)

The reaction to Green’s motion has been swift and hilarious. Most of her GOP colleagues have condemned her for reinforcing the accurate impression that the Republican Party is populated by idiots and is awash in chaos. But those condemning her are doing their own part in reinforcing that impression. They surely are not exhibiting the unity that Trump recently bragged about…

SEE ALSO: REALLY? Dementia Addled Trump Babbles that ‘I Have Never Seen the Republican Party So Unified’

And if that weren’t bad enough, Fox News isn’t taking any of this very well. It is presenting them with more obstacles to their propaganda mission of propping up Republicans and Trump-fluffing. That was glaringly evident in the monologue of Fox’s Laura Ingraham who whined that…

“I have been in Washington for 30 years. I have never witnessed what I’m witnessing now. A party with a narrow majority in the House of Representatives – everything on the line in the country – but committing a slow suicide. This is why conservatives call the GOP the stupid party.”

First of all, it isn’t conservatives calling the GOP “The Stupid Party” (which would make a great new name for them). It is mainstream Republicans and most Americans. If anything, it’s the conservatives like Greene and the GOP’s Freedom Caucus who are attacking Johnson, advocating extremist policies (i.e. banning abortion, cutting Social Security, etc.), and generally spreading around the stupid.

What’s more, Ingraham is complaining about the GOP being incapable of governing with their “narrow” and shrinking majority. But she is steadfastly against working with Democrats on compromise legislation such as funding the government, securing the border, or providing aid to Ukraine. She and her right-wing confederates have no positive solutions to the nation’s problems. Instead, they are laser focused on impeaching President Biden and maligning his family and Cabinet. It is that agenda that is causing their “slow suicide.”

However, Ingraham is not alone. Her Fox News comrade, and former Trump press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, joined the pile-on following Green’s Johnson-busting business. On Friday’s episode of Fox’s “Outnumbered” McEnany offered a uniquely perverse point of view…

“So, Marjorie Taylor Greene said ‘I have not talked to president Trump about this.’ Largely president Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson have had a great relationship. Speaker Mike Johnson just put out a piece congratulating him on securing the nomination. I think it’s a pretty big voice you would want to get input from since he’s the titular head of the party at the moment.”

What McEnany is proposing is that Trump be given the right of approval as to who Republicans in the House choose to lead their party. Never mind that the Constitution explicitly divides the government into three independent branches. McEnany would do away with the principle of “separation of powers” so that Trump could reign as a monarch, imposing his will on the legislative and judicial branches, in addition to the executive. Which, by the way, he does not currently occupy.

This is just further evidence that the Stupid Party is more of a cult than a political enterprise. And it’s Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) is fully on board with elevating Dear Leader Trump to messiah status as they pray for him to be their savior. But if the abject foolishness of Republicans is regarded as the party having committed suicide, it is one that will benefit the nation and its citizens, So perhaps a more fitting description for the demise of the GOP is that it’s a mercy killing.

TOTALLY AGREE… With the RNC Chair Who Says ‘We Are Better Off Today’ than Four Years Ago

Forty four years ago Ronald Reagan asked a question that has become a staple of every presidential election that has followed. During a debate with President Jimmy Carter, Reagan asked “Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?” It was really a rather simplistic question that didn’t get to the heart of any specific issue. But it was an effective rhetorical worm that borrowed into the minds of voters.

Click here to Tweet this article

Joe Biden, GOP, Elephant

Ever since, American voters have been asked to make the same comparison. And the 2024 presidential election is no exception. However, it does make a huge difference who is asking this question now. President Biden has presided over a booming economy, unprecedented job creation, and a legislative agenda that includes progress on climate and the environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, infrastructure, manufacturing, and more. It’s a record that Republicans are having a hard time criticizing…

SEE THIS: President Biden Trolls Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Hysterically Lame Swipe at Democratic Successes

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has been spending his days in court defending himself against dozens of civil and criminal charges, including election interference, inciting an insurrection and rape. And that will continue to dominate his time through November and beyond.

Which makes it difficult for the GOP to ask the “better off” question now. But that hasn’t stopped them from doing so. The latest Republican to venture down this path is the newly installed co-chair (along with Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump) of the Republican National Committee (RNC), Michael Whatley. He appeared on Fox News and asked that question. But the answer he provided was a bit of surprise…

“At the end of the day, this comes down to a very simple contrast between President Trump and President Biden. Were you better off four years ago than you are today? The answer for this entire country is no. I mean yes. We are better off today.”

That’s right. Whatley’s first stab at the answer was to say that, no, we were not better off four years ago during the Trump administration. Then when he tried to clean up his gaffe, he made it worse by saying that, yes, we are better off today. It’s hard to argue with him. But it’s par for the course for the new RNC leadership that is doing more to help Democrats than Republicans.

What’s more, in the past few days this question has been asked by everyone in the Trump cult, from Lara Trump to Sean Hannity, who insisted that Democrats “cannot run on ‘are you better off than you were four years ago.'”

Really? For the record, four years ago thousands of Americans were dying every day from a virus that Trump mismanaged through neglect and/or ignorance; the stock market had crashed; jobs were eliminated as companies closed; and you couldn’t buy toilet paper. He also added eight trillion dollars to the deficit, embraced foreign dictators, alienated allies, and appointed ultra-rightist judges that who reversed Roe v Wade and generally ruled in favor of wealthy elitists and corporations. All the while, Trump cast himself in the starring role of a daily reality TV show where he upstaged the experts and lied that “a lot of good things are gonna happen.”

Actually, Trump was right, just a little early. Because, as for whether we are better off than four years ago, well…a lot of good things did happen – after President Biden took over. For instance…

Trump’s Promise to Free January 6 Insurrectionists is a Recruiting Plan for the Next Insurrection

The 2024 campaign platform for Donald Trump has been conspicuously devoid of any rational substance. From the outset he has been singularly focused on his “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen” from him; that migrants were “invading” America in order commit crimes and vote for Democrats; and that “retribution” must be dealt out to his enemies in politics and the press.

Donald Trump Insurrection

None of those issues are of the least bit of interest to most American voters. They aren’t even representative of what matters to Republicans, such as banning all abortions and granting human status to frozen embryos; more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy; arming every citizen with AR-15s; and always, clamping down on any media that isn’t sufficiently worshipful.

This week Trump added a new plank to his perverse platform. It’s closely related to his election denialism, but hits more specifically on a select faction of his cult followers. Trump promised in a comment posted to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, to free the January 6th insurrections that he incited…

“My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!”

Let’s set aside Trump’s nonsense about closing the border (which he never did when he was occupying the White House), and his incessant chanting about drilling for oil (when the U.S. is currently producing more oil than ever, and more than any other country). Trump’s pledge to release violent prisoners (about 1,400 of them), many of whom pleaded guilty (about 800), is a direct assault on the concept of “law and order.” It is also an insult to the police officers who were attacked that day.

What’s more, Trump’s use of the term “hostages” is an additional offense to the victims in law enforcement and the members of Congress, and their staffs, who were the targets of the StormTrumpers. Hostages are innocent persons being held for ransom by criminals or terrorists. The January 6th insurrectionists were convicted by juries for having committed crimes against America. Some of them were specifically convicted of seditious conspiracy and sentenced to terms of 10, 15, 20 years or more.

There is an enormous difference between Trump’s offensive rhetoric of “hostages,” and the savagery of the rioters he now wants to forgive. But mercy is not what’s really on his mind. Trump couldn’t care less about the well warranted misfortune of the January 6th insurrectionists. If he did, he could have issued pardons before his term ended on January 20th. The fact that he didn’t do so is evidence of his insincerity.

So why is Trump making these brash declarations three years later? Perhaps because he wants his MAGA armies to believe that he has their backs when the next insurrection is waged. By pretending that he’s concerned about the January 6th troops, he is giving assurances to future traitors that they will not suffer any consequences if they engage in similar lawlessness. Trump is, in fact, recruiting the next wave of insurrectionists.

That’s why Trump’s embrace of these criminals, no matter how disingenuous, must be seen as more than just an expression of support and a call for fresh fighters. It is Trump’s declaration of war. It’s a red flag to Americans who value our nation’s principles and want to preserve them. And it’s proof of Trump’s terrorist intentions. He must never be permitted to prevail.
