The Trump Cult Knows He’s Guilty, So They’re All on Fox News Yammering About Planted Evidence

In the wake of the FBI searching Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker, his worshipful cult followers have been mired in panic mode. Their reaction is perhaps the the most telling proof that Trump is guilty of serious crimes, and they know it.

What’s astonishing about the post-FBI search is that none of Trump’s Deplorables are attempting to argue that he’s innocent. They are in lockstep formation attacking the the FBI and the Justice Department as corrupt, dishonest practitioners of radical leftist, banana republic tactics. Never mind that they haven’t produced a shred of evidence to support their hair-on-fire harangues. And pay no attention to the fact that FBI Director Chris Wray was appointed by Trump, who said he was “an impeccably qualified individual, and I know that he will again serve his country as a fierce guardian of the law and model of integrity.” Oops.

More specifically, the Trumpists are falling in line behind the utterly baseless charge that the FBI planted evidence against Trump during the Mar-a-Lago visit. It’s a shameful and reckless allegation for which the only basis is their perverse imaginations. But it has rapidly become the mantra at Fox “News” because, despite it’s pitiful idiocy, it’s the least idiotic defense they can fabricate on such short notice.

What Trump and his Fox friends are doing is laying the groundwork to deny the validity of the evidence that they know the FBI has confiscated from Trump’s Palm Beach compound. In other words, they know that Trump is guilty. And since the hard documents that Trump stole from the White House – many of which are classified – will be unimpeachably incriminating, the only thing Trump’s minions can do is try to characterize them as fake or planted by a cabal of dozens of law enforcement professionals working in tandem with Justice Department officials and the White House.

It’s a conspiracy theory that puts the “lizard people” proponents to shame. But it’s what is on the script for Team Trump today. As evidence of the coordination in place for this preposterous fan fiction, what follows are some of the wild commentaries on Fox News from just the past 24 hours…

Jesse Watters: What the FBI is probably doing is planting evidence, which is what they did during the Russia hoax. We also have a hunch that they doctored evidence to get the warrant.

Trump lawyer Alina Habba: Quite honestly, I’m concerned that they may have planted something. At this point who knows? I don’t trust the government.

Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt: What Was in Those Backpacks?
Sen. Rand Paul: Do I know that the boxes of material they took from Mar-a-Lago, that they won’t put things in those boxes to entrap him? How do we know? […]
Ainsley Earhardt: His lawyer said they brought in backpacks, what was in those backpacks? Did they bring those in to fill them up or did they have something in there?

Trump attorney (and former OAN shill) Christina Bobb: At this point I don’t “necessarily” think that they would even go to the extent of trying to plant information. I think they just make stuff up.

And of course, Wannabe messiah Trump…

“The FBI and others from the Federal Government would not let anyone, including my lawyers, be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged and otherwise looked at during the raid on Mar-a-Lago. Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, ‘planting.’ Why did they STRONGLY insist on having nobody watching them, everybody out? Obama and Clinton were never ‘raided,’ despite big disputes!”

Who wants to to tell Trump that neither President Obama nor Hillary Clinton committed crimes that warranted being raided? Although the FBI did examine Clinton’s emails just eleven days prior to the presidential election of 2016, she never presented any risk of tampering with, or destroying evidence. Unlike Trump. Also, it is routine for search warrants to be executed without others around contaminating the potential crime scene. Particularly others with interests in altering the outcome of the search.

Trump is known to have shredded, flushed, and even eaten documents that were required by law to be preserved. He took dozens of boxes from the White House and, when challenged, only returned some them, lying that it was all he had. And now that the FBI has recovered more of the materials that Trump stole, he and his goon squad are maligning law enforcement and manufacturing an argument that any evidence of a crime was planted. Which is a pretty good indication that they know there is evidence of a crime – or crimes – in what the FBI recovered.

Finally, if Trump is really so upset that the search warrant was improper, why doesn’t he release his copy of it as proof? The FBI cannot do so if it is under seal, but there is nothing stopping Trump – except his consciousness of guilt. Trump’s glassy-eyed disciples should ask themselves this question: Why would he hesitate to release information that would exonerate him? The answer: For the same reason he refuses to testify under oath and obstructs his supporters from doing so. He’s guilty and he knows it.

Fox News Spews Knee-Jerk Defense of Wannabe Dictator Trump After FBI Search of Mar-a-Lago

In what everyone – including Donald Trump – is calling an unprecedented act by federal law enforcement authorities, the Trump compound at Mar-a-Lago was the subject of a search warrant by FBI agents in connection to Trump’s potentially criminal removal and possession of classified documents from the White House.

Republicans and right-wing media are fixated on the unprecedented nature of this operation, while desperately seeking to ignore the criminal part. But the only reason it is unprecedented is because no president has ever acted so brazenly in the commission of crimes as Trump. And even while he rages over the indignity of being held accountable to the law like any other American, Trump frantically scrambles to shift attention away from his legal troubles, to unrelated matters about everything from the his Russian collusion scandals to Hillary Clinton.

As soon as the story of the FBI visit to Mar-a-Lago broke, Fox News went to work obediently excusing Trump’s legal malfeasance and baselessly accusing President Biden and the Democrats of engaging in an improper persecution of The Former Guy. In an Olympian feat of projection, they likened it to third-world and/or fascist tactics. Never mind that they couldn’t provide a shred of rational support for their wild charges.

The usual suspects at Fox News launched into hysterical defenses of Trump, affirming their role as boot-licking sycophants. It began with Jesse Watters who presented a parade of Trumpist Fox contributors such as Dana Loesch and Dan Bongino to malign the “radical leftists” at the FBI.

That led into Will Cain, sitting in for Tucker Carlson, who somehow managed to book Lara Trump on a moments notice. The thrust of her attempt at whitewashing the affair was that her sugar-daddy-in-law just “loves to save things like newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, photographs.” Yeah, that’s the ticket. He was just scrapbooking. She went on, of course, to divert the low attention span Fox viewers, directing them to “Look at Hillary Clinton. the 33,000 emails that she just deleted.”

The headliner for the night was Sean Hannity. And he didn’t disappoint, so lang as your analysis is based on flagrant deception and hostility. Hannity brought on another unbiased guest, Eric Trump, who said that…

“Going back to Hillary [Clinton], There’s a whole lot of other things. How about the Benghazi scandals? How about the Clinton Foundation? I mean, how many shady oligarchs from Russia were contributing to that? How about Uranium One? You want to talk about scandals that were never investigated, never vetted?”

Literally every item that Eric uttered was a non-scandal that was indeed investigated and had been proven to be fabricated. Clinton testified under oath for eleven hours (something Trump is too cowardly to do), and no evidence of wrongdoing was found. The Clinton Foundation is a pillar of the charitable world, receiving the top rating from charity watchdogs. As opposed to Trump’s foundation that was shuttered by New York authorities for committing fraud. The Uranium One matter was a wholly contrived sham created by Fox News and the GOP.

Eric also explicitly accused Biden of being at the head of the imaginary cabal against his father. And for an added serving of comedy, Hannity punctuated his propaganda by dementedly messing up the old adage about dotting i’s and crossing t’s…

Much of the wingnut argument on Fox News has been centered on a campaign to literally defund the FBI. That’s quite a reversal from their prior position attacking Democrats for being anti-police. What’s more, they have entirely – or conveniently – forgotten that the FBI director, Chris Wray, is a Trump appointee. They even brought in felon Steve Bannon, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, but was later pardoned by Trump. Bannon advocated for cutting off funds to the agency that he lied to:

“The House leaders right now need to step up and recommit Jim Jordan. Full investigation, I think, cutting off appropriations to the FBI to get to the bottom of this. This is gonna continue on. The FBI right now is the Gestapo.”

At least Bannon didn’t insult the FBI as being gazpacho. However, this take by Fox’s Todd Starnes may truly be the most deranged…

One thing all of this Trump-fawning settles is the question as to whether Fox News is still on Trump’s side. Clearly they are as worshipful of Trump as ever. There may have had a brief moment wherein a couple of Murdoch’s newspapers went off script, but Fox News itself is still a fully indoctrinated mouthpiece for the Trump cult.

The former reality TV game show host and crime family boss, Donald Trump, has announced to the world that his Palm Beach resort, Mar-a-Lago, has been raided by the FBI. This is a developing story and little is known beyond the basic facts that a search warrant was served, although it is unclear which of the currently open investigations it refers to.

Unsurprisingly, Trump has issued a frantically deranged statement that is filled with hostility and unrelated nonsense. For the record, it is posted here:

“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections. Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.

“The political persecution of President Donald J. Trump has been going on for years, with the now fully debunked Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and so much more, it just never ends. It is political targeting at the highest level!

“Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 E-mails AFTER they were subpoenaed by Congress. Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. She even took antique furniture, and other items from the White House.

“I stood up to America’s bureaucratic corruption, I restored power to the people, and truly delivered for our Country, like we have never seen before. The establishment hated it. Now, as they watch my endorsed candidates win big victories, and see my dominance in all polls, they are trying to stop me, and the Republican Party, once more. The lawlessness, political persecution, and Witch Hunt must be exposed and stopped.

“I will continue to fight for the Great American People!”

Among the bizarre assertions in Trump’s rant about “dark times for our Nation” are that…

His “beautiful home” is “currently under siege.”
Actually, it the subject of a lawful search that had to be approved by a judge and officials at the highest levels of the Department of Justice.

He claims to have been “cooperating with the relevant Government agencies.”
In fact, he has obstructed the investigations at every turn. He even falsely claimed to have executive privilege that prohibited himself and numerous associates from having to testify.

He claimed that “this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”
Obviously law enforcement disagreed as to whether it was necessary or appropriate. And given the fact that he is known to have destroyed evidence by shredding and flushing it down toilets, and even taking classified materials from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, the necessity of the raid is fully justified.

His accusations that the raid was “prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats…”
…is utterly unfounded. He offers nothing to support his wild charges. And it should be noted that the current FBI director is a Trump appointee.

He whines that “Sadly, America has now become one one of those [Third-World] Countries.”
This is only true to the extent that his efforts to undermine our elections and overthrow government contribute to that claim.

He asks “What is the difference between this and Watergate?”
Well, the illegal Watergate break-in was conducted by criminals working for a rogue white House operation. This lawful raid was conducted by law enforcement professionals under the supervision of the FBI and Justice Department.

Trump repeated his obsessive rants about “Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2”
These are wholly unrelated deflections that have nothing to do with this current activity. But it is part of his routine script of robo-outrage.

He also unleashed on Hillary Clinton, who he said “was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 E-mails.”
These are more false charges that Trump regularly dredges up. Clinton actually testified under oath for eleven hours, something that Trump is too cowardly to do.

Trump closed by exalting himself as the people’s champion who is now being persecuted for his divine virtue. And he throws in an obligatory reference to it all being a “Witch Hunt.” But the bottom line is that the entirety of this statement is just more proof that he is scared witless and pulling out all the stops to enrage his potentially violent cult followers. Hopefully he will not succeed in inciting more riots and harming more law enforcement officers and other citizens.

Trump’s TRUTH Social Twitter Ripoff Suffers Another Setback Due to His Criminal Corruption

When Twitter permanently suspended Donald Trump two days after the January 6th insurrection that he incited, they said that it was “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” There was a collective sigh of relief in America in anticipation that his maniacal raving might be muffled for a while. Unfortunately, that was not to be.

Soon after Trump was given the boot by Twitter, he launched his own social media operation, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG). The core of this scam was TRUTH Social, a blatant ripoff of Twitter built on rage and revenge. He promised that it would be a bastion of free speech, despite the fact that its terms of service explicitly forbid posts that criticized Trump and users were banned for posting the truth about January 6th.

Right from the start this racket rocketed to failure in record time. Digital World Acquisition Corporation (DWAC), the shell company that was expected to take the new business public, has declined in value by 80% from its high mark last October.

DWAC has suffered a series of the financial and legal setbacks that are so common to any Trump enterprise. And now there is another adversity owing to Trump’s inbred immorality:

“Digital World Acquisition Corp., the special purpose acquisition company planning to merge with the company behind former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform, is asking its shareholders to delay the deadline for completing the deal until 2023, in part because of federal investigations into the transaction. […] DWAC warned that may not even be enough time, though, noting the investigations might hamper its ability to win regulatory approval, which it said ‘may require us to liquidate.'”

The “federal investigations” to which this notice refers includes a Grand Jury in New York, for which all of DWAC’s board members have been subpoenaed. At the same time the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating whether TMTG and DWAC executives improperly coordinated with each other and engaged in insider trading.

These probes have contributed to the cratering of the value of Trump’s crime vehicle, DWAC. It may also explain why Trump himself bailed on his crooked company. Just weeks before the subpoenas were served, Trump removed himself and Don Jr from the board of TMTG.

Even worse, from Trump’s perspective, is that if this deal doesn’t go through he won’t be able to pocket the billions of dollars that have been raised by his criminal cronies to finance this flagrant fraud. Bearing in mind that the only purpose of this sham venture was to either exact vengeance on Trump’s enemies, or enrich him personally, he appears to have failed on both counts. And it will just add to the list of criminal offences that Trump and his crime family could be held liable for.

LOCK HIM UP: Trump’s TRUTH Social Scam is Being Criminally Investigated By a Federal Grand Jury

America’s most notorious scam artist, Donald Trump, is once again the subject of a criminal investigation into his shady business dealings. It is endlessly perplexing that there are still rubes who fall for the swindles perpetrated by Trump, who has presided of multiple bankruptcies, fraudulent charities, fake universities, and grifting operations whose only purpose was to deceitfully enrich himself.

The latest con game played by Trump is his already dreadfully failing Twitter ripoff, TRUTH Social. This project grew out of Trump’s desire to seek revenge on Twitter for banning him due to his repeated lying and violence-inciting disinformation. With the founding of his Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the recidivist racketeer sought to further the fleecing of his dimwitted disciples.

Part of the plot included taking the scheme public by merging with a shell company, Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC). Now DWAC and its board of directors have been subpoenaed by a federal Grand Jury in New York. According to CNBC…

“A federal criminal investigation is threatening the proposed merger between former President Donald Trump’s social media enterprise and a special purpose acquisition company, a deal that would give the combined company access to billions of dollars in public markets.

“That company, Digital World Acquisition Corp., revealed in a securities filing Monday that it became aware on June 16 that each member of its board of directors received subpoenas from a federal grand jury in New York.”

In addition to the Grand Jury proceedings, the SEC is investigating whether TMTG and DWAC executives improperly coordinated with each other and engaged in insider trading. They have also partnered with a Chinese firm with a dubious legal past. And the SEC filing even mentions Trump’s prior business failures.

These probes have contributed to the cratering of the value of Trump’s crime vehicle, DWAC. It has declined by more than 75% since March. And that’s even after Trump began posting on TRUTH Social – or perhaps because of it. He now says that he will never return to Twitter. But like everything else he says, that can hardly be trusted. He is also appealing the dismissal of his ludicrous lawsuit alleging that Twitter violated his free speech rights by banning him.

With each new day there seems be a new crime that Trump is being investigated for. His long list of illegalities incudes financial scams, political malfeasance, and sexual assaults. And with every discovery of his legal and personal depravity, he whines that he is the victim of a “hoax” or a “witch hunt.” However, his complaints might be more credible if there weren’t so much witchcraft being revealed.

UPDATE: It turns out that Trump bailed on his crooked company. Just weeks before the subpoenas were served, Trump removed himself and Don Jr from the board of TMTG. He is also no longer named as the company’s chairman. Unfortunately for him, all of the criminal activity took place while he was in still charge. So if he thinks he can escape legal liability, he’s going to be sorely disappointed.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder Says There is ‘Sufficient Factual Information’ to Indict Trump

And for sixteen months the nation has been holding its collective breath while waiting for the Justice Department to hold Trump accountable for his brazen attempts to undermine democracy.

While there have been numerous indictments of individual StormTrumpers for crimes ranging from trespassing to sedition, Trump himself has still not faced the legal consequences of his treasonous acts. A recent poll shows that, nearly a year and a half after the acts of domestic terrorism in Washington, D.C., 67% of the American people – including 41% of Republicans – say that he “bears some or a lot of responsibility for the violence and destruction committed by some of his supporters when they broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

On Sunday’s episode of Face the Nation on CBS, host Margaret Brennan interviewed former Attorney General Eric Holder, who served in the Obama administration. When asked about the prospect of a Trump indictment, Holder replied that he thinks that, based on the evidence, it would be warranted:

Brennan: Merrick Garland, you mentioned, he’s now in your old job as Attorney General. There have been critics of him who say that he isn’t being aggressive enough around the prosecutions of January 6th. Do you think that’s right?
Holder: No one knows. I mean, I have great faith in Merrick and the people at the Justice Department. We won’t really know how aggressive they’ve been until they are before a camera and announcing a decision, either to indict certain people or not indict certain people. Here’s my prediction. At some point people at the Justice Department, perhaps that prosecutor in Atlanta, are gonna have to make a determination about whether or not they want to indict Donald Trump.
Brennan: Will they do it?
Holder: Well, I think there’s gonna be sufficient factual information. And I think that there’s going to be sufficient proof of intent. And then the question becomes, what’s the impact of of such an indictment? I’m an institutionalist. My initial thought was not to indict the former president out of concern of how divisive it would be. But given what we have learned, I think that he probably has to be held accountable.

Holder is correct in saying that the status of Merrick’s progress with regard to a case against Trump is unknowable at this time. While frustrating for those who fear that Trump is getting away with his crimes, Merrick’s discretion is actually the proper way of handling any investigation.

However, it is encouraging that Holder, who is well acquainted with Department of Justice protocols, is convinced that both the facts and the intent sufficient to merit an indictment of Trump exist right now. What’s more, he is comfortable articulating that opinion on national television.

The only disappointing part of Holder’s remarks is his claim to be an “institutionalist,” which led him to initially lean against indicting Trump because it might be “divisive.” That is not a consideration based on legal principle. If there is evidence of a crime sufficient to convict, an indictment should be mandatory. Whether or not it is divisive is a political call that has nothing to do with the law. It would only create a gap in enforcement that allows the privileged class to escape punishment for their unlawful acts. It would place criminals like Trump above the law.

Notwithstanding his initial considerations, Holder has come to right conclusion. There is abundant evidence of numerous crimes that Trump has committed. He could be indicted today for violations of laws that related to his real estate business, his taxes, electoral fraud, intimidating government officials, abuse of power, perjury, and probably more. Hopefully AG Garland is working on indictments for these. Time will tell, but not until after it’s done frustrating.

Admission of Guilt? Trump and Family Seek to Evade Depositions Unless Granted Immunity

Donald Trump already has a public record of criminal activity that is unprecedented among American politicians. Setting aside that he has been impeached twice by Congress, he was also found to have committed fraud with his phony “university,” for which he was ordered to pay out $25 million to his victims. His crooked “charity” was shuttered and he and his family were prohibited from running any other non-profit in New York for five years. And there is still pending litigation against him by women alleging that he sexually harassed and/or assaulted them.

Donald Trump Sweating

The legal calamities that are consuming Donald Trump are continuing to pile up. He is currently under investigation by prosecutors in New York, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. He was recently hit with new allegations about his having carting off classified documents to Mar-a-Lago.

No wonder Trump is constantly whining that “they wanna put me in jail.” He’s right. The “they” he’s referring to are prosecutors whose job it is to lock up criminals. And on Tuesday Trump appears to have affirmed that these prosecutors have a valid case against him and his family. According to CNN…

“Former President Donald Trump and two of his children filed an appeal in their fight against the New York attorney general’s attempt to depose them as part of a civil investigation into the Trump Organization, saying a lower court erred by denying the Trumps’ request to quash their subpoenas for testimony.

“In their appeal filed Monday, Trump and his children Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. argued that if New York Attorney General Letitia James wants their testimony, she should bring them before a state grand jury investigating the Trump Organization, where witnesses receive transactional immunity for their testimony in New York. […]

“James said in court filings in January that her office’s civil investigation had uncovered significant evidence that the Trump Organization used ‘fraudulent or misleading asset valuations to obtain a host of economic benefits, including loans, insurance coverage and tax deductions’ and that financial statements had numerous ‘misleading statements and omissions.'”

So Trump and his crime family are suing the New York Attorney General to keep from having to give depositions in the case against them unless they are granted immunity. To be clear, this is not a situation where they are resisting subpoenas to testify for fear of self-incrimination. For that they could simply appear and take the Fifth. In this filing they are willing to testify, but are insisting that they be immunized for whatever incriminating information they divulge.

That’s tantamount to a confession that their testimony contains evidence of real crimes. They actually want to testify with immunity so that they can be assured that there will never be any consequences for their unlawful behavior. However, AG Letitia James, isn’t having it. She tweeted that…

“Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump were ordered by a judge to comply with our investigation into Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization’s financial dealings. Despite their appeal of this order, no one can stop our pursuit of justice, no matter how powerful they are.”

It is a rather remarkable thing that a former president and his kin are pleading for immunity in a case that involves their deliberate misrepresentation of their business and its finances. There is abundant evidence of malfeasance gathered from both documents and witnesses. But nothing says “guilty” as definitively as a defendant begging for immunity in exchange for spilling the beans. Who knows, we may even see Trump vs. Trump as the rats try to snitch on each other to avoid prison. Keep the popcorn ready, folks.

Dumb@ss Trump Tweets Articles He Thinks Exonerate Him, But That Actually Affirm His Guilt

Proving the point that it is impossible to underestimate the intelligence of Donald Trump, the former reality TV game show host, and twice-impeached occupier of the White House, had his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill post a couple of tweets that illustrate how painfully stupid he is.

Donald Trump Circling the Drain

While the rest of the world is focused on the human tragedy of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by Trump’s BFF Vladimir Putin – a murderous war criminal with whom Trump is still hopelessly infatuated – Trump is, as usual, fixated on himself and his own personal legal problems. He has hardly said a word about Ukraine, probably because he has no friggin’ idea what to do about it. So instead, he persists in ranting repeatedly about the nonexistent voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election and the civil and criminal investigations into his countless crimes.

On Sunday morning Trump released statements with links to articles that he apparently thinks absolve him of liability for the financial corruption of his failing real estate enterprise. But he totally misunderstood what he read, or more likely, had read to him. Both articles dealt with the recent resignation of two prosecutors from the office of the New York County District Attorney. And both contain extensive affirmation of Trump’s guilt. To be sure, the resignations were a disappointment to people who want to see Trump held to account for his wrongdoing. But Trump’s take on the matter is pitifully mistaken.

In the first tweet Trump linked to a Daily Mail article about the DA’s reluctance to file an indictment. But what Trump ignored in the article is that the prosecutors who resigned did so to “disassociate” from the decision because “it was on the wrong side of history.” Furthermore, the article notes that, despite the resignations, “The investigation is ongoing.” So it is hardly a vindication.

In the second tweet Trump gloms on to a question in the New York Times article asking “Which laws had Mr. Trump broken?” He answers it himself saying “The crime of … making his lenders ‘more’ money.” Then he calls the probe “Sick!” However, his crime has nothing to do with whether the banks he defrauded made any profit. It has to do with the fact that he committed fraud in order to secure the loans. The prosecutor described it as “a righteous case that ought to be brought.” Trump’s tweet quoted from the article…

“For months, the prosecutors had envisioned charging Mr. Trump — and possibly Mr. Weisselberg and the Trump Organization — with the crime of ‘scheming to defraud’ for falsely inflating his assets on the statements of financial condition that had been used to obtain bank loans.

“But by the end of the year, the prosecutors had switched gears, in part because Mr. Trump’s lenders had not lost money on the loans but had in fact profited from them. The new strategy was to charge Mr. Trump with conspiracy and falsifying business records — specifically his financial statements — a simpler case that essentially amounted to painting Mr. Trump as a liar rather than a thief.”

Apparently Trump thinks that being charged with lying rather than stealing is some kind of exoneration. But he’s even got that wrong. Let’s look at what the article is saying. The DA’s charge changed from “‘scheming to defraud’ for falsely inflating his assets,” to “conspiracy and falsifying business records.” That’s a distinction without a difference. Or very little difference. And both are serious felonies for both lying and stealing.

So Trump is celebrating these articles that unambiguously affirm that he’s guilty of fraud and/or conspiracy to commit fraud. This is further evidence of his staggering stupidity. Yet he is so shamelessly boasting about this imaginary absolution that he’s forgotten that he is still under investigation by this DA in Manhattan, as well as the New York Attorney General, the U.S. Attorney in D.C., and the District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia. That’s a pretty sorry statement about both his legal and mental condition.

Crybaby Trump Whines that ‘They Wanna Put Me in Jail’ – Just Because He’s a Criminal

On Saturday Donald Trump headlined another of his COVID-Palooza Cult Rallies. As usual, it was a live regurgitation of his tedious playlist of pet peeves. He covered all of his greatest fits from the past: the leftist media, locking up Hillary Clinton, trivializing the pandemic, the border, etc. ad infinitum.

One subject upon which Trump focused was the cornucopia of criminal cases that are accumulating against him and his crime family. He is presently being investigated by the Attorney General of New York, the Manhattan District Attorney, the Washington, DC Attorney General, a special Grand Jury in Georgia, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. That’s quite a portfolio of potential felonies.

Naturally, Trump is displaying the snowflakery for which he is so well known. He just can’t stop sobbing over his victimhood. And in his remarks at the MAGA meetup Trump unloaded his fear and desperation on the assembled attendees, saying that…

“For years they’ve been going after my company. Many years. They’ve been using every trick in the book to literally, if they can, put me in jail. They wanna put me in jail!”

Indeed they do. Because that’s precisely what prosecutors are paid to do – put lawbreakers in jail. The fact that there have been years of such efforts isn’t the criticism that Trump perceives it to be. To the contrary, it affirms that he has been skirting the fringes of criminality for a long time, and getting away with it due to his privileged status and wealth. But he wasn’t through moaning over his imagined misfortunes. he continued saying that…

“If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protests we have ever had in Washington, D.C., in New York, in Atlanta, and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt.

“Racist”? Is Trump alleging that the prosecutors are persecuting him because he’s an underprivileged white billionaire? While that is technically a minority, it is hardly a class of people suffering from discrimination. Unless you count being segregated into luxury hotels and exclusive golf resorts as discriminatory. “Radical” and “vicious” are typical of Trump’s paranoid characterization of any criticism of him. But “racist” stretches the boundaries of his psychotic wrath.

Furthermore, Trump is still using the sort of hostile rhetoric that resulted in the assault on Congress that he and his confederates instigated. He is inciting his StormTrumpers to mobilize again if he is indicted for any of the many crimes he has committed. He is unambiguously urging his disciples to take actions that will almost certainly devolve into more of the domestic terrorism that he purposefully provoked last year. It’s what he wants. He even sweetened the deal by floating the possibility of pardons for those who engage in such violence – past and future:

“If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons we will give them pardons.”

Trump is providing patriotic Americans with more reasons to vote against him and any of his cadre of conservative crackpots. The prospect of his occupying the White House again may be the best motivation for Democrats, and democracy loving independents and Republicans, to turn out in 2022 and 2024. Because based on what Trump actually says, the alternative could be the last free election in America.

UPDATE: “Trump is facing a total of 19 legal actions … Most of the cases fall under three themes: financial wrongdoings that made him more money; his role in the January 6 2021 insurrection; and his alleged interference in the 2020 election.”

DISBAR THE KRAKEN: Trump Affiliated Lawyers Have Been Sanctioned For ‘Frivolous’ Filings

Ever since Donald Trump was decisively defeated in the 2020 presidential election by Joe Biden, he has been obsessed with propagating the “Big Lie” that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. It’s a dangerous and flagrant falsehood that undermines the people’s faith in American democracy and resulted in the deadly January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday there were finally some consequences for a few of Trump’s co-conspirators. Politico is reporting that several of the attorneys that worked on Trump’s behalf to disseminate lies about election fraud were dealt a legal blow:

“A federal judge on Wednesday imposed sanctions on Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and seven other pro-Trump lawyers in a strongly worded denouncement of what the court called a frivolous election fraud lawsuit.

“U.S. District Court Judge Linda Parker found that Powell and her colleagues involved in the case, which sought to make former President Donald Trump Michigan’s official 2020 presidential pick, ‘filed this lawsuit in bad faith and for improper purpose.'”

The judge went on to reprimand the lawyers for presenting “pleadings that were not ‘warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying, or reversing existing law or establishing new law.’” She said that they “contained factual contentions lacking evidentiary support.”

But that’s not all. The judge further noted that “the deficiencies in the pleadings [claim violations of election law} without a thorough understanding of what the law requires, and the number of failed election-challenge lawsuits that Plaintiffs’ attorneys have filed.”

The judge’s opinion concluded by recommending “that the bar associations for each respective attorney investigate them for potential suspension or disbarment, noting that their involvement in the litigation showed they were unfit to practice law.”

This is just the latest humiliating episode in the long-running melodrama of Trump’s legal tribulations. His personal attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty for his role on the payoff to Trump’s mistress, adult film star Stormy Daniels, and for lying to the Senate. Then Rudy Giuliani had his license suspended in both New York and Washington, D.C. Trump’s representatives lost more than sixty court cases due to failing to provide a shred of evidence supporting their election fraud allegations.

Now these clowns have been sanctioned and face possible disbarment. And yet, somehow Trump will go on whining about the “Crime of the Century” until his turn to be held accountable comes up. He is presently being investigated in New York, Washington, and Georgia, for criminal election tampering, intimidation, and abuse of power. And the rulings against this batch of his legal team will only serve to darken his future prospects for avoiding the consequences of his crimes.
