Fox News Recklessly and Purposefully Puts the Life of an Indiana Abortion Doctor at Risk

Last week a heart wrenching news story broke about a ten year old girl in Ohio who was raped and became pregnant. Making the ordeal that she and her family were facing even more traumatic, the family had to take the girl to Indiana because law in Ohio would force her to carry the baby of the rapist to term.

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

True to form, Fox News falsely asserted that the story of of the girl was fake. Tucker Carlson flatly said it was “not true.” Jesse Watters interviewed the Indiana attorney general who said that he’s investigating the Indiana doctor for unspecified misconduct. Pedophile-enabler, Rep. Jim Jordan, tweeted (and later deleted) that the story was “Another lie.” Fox’s view across the board was was that the story was a hoax aimed at “promoting” abortion and criticizing the recent Supreme Court decision that reversed Roe vs Wade.

RELATED: Jon Stewart Nails It: The Supreme Court is Now the Fox News of Justice

This week the alleged rapist was apprehended and pleaded guilty. Consequently Fox News shifted their coverage to feature assertions about the suspect’s immigration status, and attacks on the Indiana OB-GYN to whom the girl was referred.

In both cases they demonstrate that they are fixated only on the politics of the issue and have zero concern about the welfare of the child. They issued no apologies or retractions for any of the prior claims that the story as fake. Even worse, Fox News has now been identifying the doctor by name and photo, a reckless act that could put her life at risk.

There is a long history of violence against doctors and reproductive healthcare clinics. Reporting by Fox News has certainly contributed to these horrific statistics. Fox knows this, and yet they still engage in this sort of irresponsible and dangerous so-called journalism. Forbes reports that it’s getting worse…

“Abortion providers have been subject to thousands of criminal incidents since abortion became legalized in the 1970s, according to the National Abortion Federation, including 11 murders, 42 bombings, 196 arsons and 491 assaults since 1977.”

Indeed, it will get worse if Fox News gets its way. Their coverage of the issue is inciting radical right-wingers to commit more crimes, just as their coverage of Trump’s “Big Lie” does. And they are pushing those hostile themes even as they falsely accuse Democrats of promoting violence.

RELATED: Ted Cruz Lies to Fox News that Democrats are ‘Encouraging Violence’ After Roe v Wade Ruling

Democrats need to expose the callousness of Fox News and the Republican Party’s intent to encourage violent opposition to the rights of women and families. And a good start was made when Rep. Eric Swalwell righteously dressed down Jim Jordan, who was among those vilifying both the ten year old victim and her doctor…

Newsmax (and Trump) are Still Obsessed with (and Afraid of) Cassidy Hutchinson’s Jan 6 Testimony

Two weeks ago, Cassidy Hutchinson, the aide to Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, testified before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection that was incited by Donald Trump. And ever since then Trump has been noticeably agitated and frantically determined to malign her in the most grotesquely personal manner.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Twitter

Trump’s fear and animosity, while hateful and dangerous, was understandable considering what Hutchinson revealed. Her testimony affirmed that Trump was aware that weapons were present at his January 6th rally speech, and that he “didn’t f—ing care” because “they aren’t here to hurt me.” She also disclosed Trump’s seething anger had erupted into food flinging temper tantrums. And she told the Committee that White House lawyers were worried about criminal charges, and that several members of Congress had sought pardons from Trump.

RELATED: The Crimes Trump Can (Should) Be Indicted For Now, According to Watergate Prosecutor and Others

The fact that Hutchinson’s testimony was so broadly viewed by record TV audiences is also likely a source of intense dread for Trump, as well as the Trump-fluffing media that worships him. For instance, Newsmax host and fawning Trump sycophant, Greg Kelly, attacked Hutchinson Monday night saying that…

“Cassidy Hutchinson … They are still obsessed with her. I think quite frankly, one of the reasons why they’re talking about her testimony so much is based on her appearance. I do. She’s an above average person when it comes to looks. but very below average in other ways, I am told.”

It’s hysterical that Kelly says that some ambiguous “they” are obsessed with Hutchinson, when clearly he’s the one whose fixation is so unrelenting. And like a lovesick – albeit misogynistic – adolescent who can’t admit his infatuation, he demeans her by reducing her impact to merely her appearance. Even in that regard, he can’t simply say that she’s pretty, only “above average.” Then he concludes by insulting her intelligence, which he attributes to some other unnamed source.

Which brings us to Trump, who the following morning posted a slanderous comment about Hutchinson on his pitifully failing Twitter clone website, TRUTH Social. It was the sixth time he’s attacked her since she testified, despite repeatedly insisting that he “barely knew or even recognize” her. He ranted…

“Can you imagine the Unselect Committee, which was formed solely for the purpose of bringing down my ‘numbers, or worse, relying on the fake and made up stories, already largely debunked, of a female scam artist, Cassidy Hutchinson, who desperately wanted to go with the Trump Team to Florida long after January 6th, and went ‘crazy’ when she was told no. They called her a ‘leaker’ and worse, didn’t want her.”

Let’s just set aside Trump’s pathetic whining about the Committee’s purpose, and his ludicrous assertion that anything revealed to date has been debunked. Trump eventually got to his main point, petulantly disparaging Hutchinson as “a female scam artist.” Never mind that he couldn’t cite a single example of anything she said that was untrue. And like every other critic that has come out of his own administration, he portrays her as a low-level, incompetent, bent on betraying him for some reason.

You have to wonder why Trump hired so many people who were disloyal losers. But the answer may just be that he is projecting the two most prominent components of his narcissistic, so-called personality. In the the opening statements of Tuesday’s Committee hearing, vice-chair Liz Cheney said that…

“President Trump is a 76-year- old man. He is not an impressionable child. Just like everyone else in our country, he is responsible for his own actions and his own choices.”

That’s an exceedingly generous characterization of Trump. While he is certainly “responsible for his own actions and his own choices,” and he must be held accountable for them, it’s also painfully obvious that he is, in fact, “an impressionable child,” at least in his emotional maturity, or lack thereof. And we can expect more of these infantile outbursts going forward in his appearances with the suck-ups on Newsmax, and in his own comments on TRUTH Social, if it isn’t shut down first.

Trump’s AG Bill Barr Has Been Subpoenaed in Billion Dollar Dominion Lawsuit Against Fox News

The billion dollar defamation lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems continues to build steam. And Dominion’s case keeps getting stronger. The core complaint is that Fox News hosts and guests relentlessly made baseless charges that Dominion voting machines were used to “rig” the election. And there’s a mountain of evidence to support Dominion’s case.

Click here to Tweet this article

William Barr, Donald Trump

The latest twist to the increasingly compelling plot is that Dominion has subpoenaed Donald Trump’s former Attorney Genuflect, Bill Barr. According to ABC News

“Former Attorney General William Barr has been subpoenaed as part of an ongoing 2020 election defamation lawsuit against Fox News brought by voting machine company Dominion Voting Systems, according to the court docket in the case.”

This shouldn’t come as surprise considering that Barr has already affirmed that Trump’s efforts to undermine democracy were wholly without merit, and that Trump was told that repeatedly. In the book Betrayal, by ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl, there were some choice quotes by Barr regarding Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. Barr told Karl that…

“My attitude was: It was put-up or shut-up time. If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bull—-.”

And specifically commenting on allegations that the Dominion voting machines were rigged to switch votes from Trump to Biden, Barr said that…

“We realized from the beginning it was just bull—. It’s a counting machine, and they save everything that was counted. So you just reconcile the two. There had been no discrepancy reported anywhere, and I’m still not aware of any discrepancy.”

RELATED: AG Bill Barr on Trump’s Big Lie: We Realized From the Beginning it Was Just Bull****

Barr’s testimony enhances the already airtight case case against Fox News. In several pre-trial hearings Fox has tried unsuccessfully to get the suit dismissed. That’s gone so badly for Fox that in one of those hearings the judge remarked that Fox had acted with “actual malice” in their crusade to advance Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election had been “rigged” and “stolen” from him.

Barr is fortunate that he’s only being called as a witness at this time. Also named as defendants in Dominion’s lawsuit are Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell. And in a similar lawsuit by Smartmatic, Fox News hosts Maria Bartiromo, Jeanine Pirro, and Lou Dobbs are named as defendants. More defendants could be named in both suits going forward, including Trump. Which seems like an obvious addition considering that he is the instigator of the entire mess.

Fox News Hack Peter Doocy Gets Stuck in Ludicrous Loop About Protesting Supreme Court Justices

The daily White House press briefing is supposed to provide an opportunity for the media to get information about the administration and inquire about matters of consequence to the public. Unfortunately, some reporters often seem more interested in contriving “gotcha” questions and trying to stump the press secretary.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Peter Doocy

Peter Doocy of Fox News is perhaps the most prominent example of a partisan shill who thinks it’s his job to manufacture political melodrama. His line of questioning is almost always focused on trivialities and serves as a diversion from serious matters.

RELATED: HAH! Jen Psaki Says Doocy’s Fox News Questions Would ‘Make Anyone Sound Like a Stupid S.O.B.’

On Friday Doocy seemed to get himself stuck in a loop wherein he wouldn’t stop asking the same question over and over. And despite Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre answering it clearly the first time, it didn’t stop Doocy from flinging it back at here as if he was a dog playing fetch.

The subject on Doocy’s mind was a report that protesters showed up outside of Morten’s Restaurant in Washington, D.C. after learning that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was dining there. This act of exercising the First Amendment apparently offended Doocy and resulted in the following exchange (video below):

Doocy: It’s okay if a justice is out to eat at a restaurant, that they can go and protest as long as they are what you consider peaceful?
Jean-Pierre: We have said that we want to see peaceful protests. That’s what we have said. We want to see the protests be peaceful. But when it comes to intimidation, that is something that we have condemned.

Jean-Pierre repeated several times that the administration condemns any intimidation or violence, and that the difference between that and peaceful protests is clear. She also noted that President Biden recently signed bipartisan legislation to protect justices.

Undaunted, Doocy kept rehashing the same question in slightly different forms. He already knew what the answer was, so his only purpose was to badger Jean-Pierre and score points with his viewers and his bosses at Fox news. He regurgitated…

“So where’s the line? If these protesters can go to a justice’s house, and they can go to a restaurant, where is it that you don’t think it’s appropriate for a group of protesters to go?”

[and…}

“Really? So these justices, because protesters do not agree with an opinion that they’ve signed onto, have no right to privacy, is what you’re saying?”

[and…}

“Is that creating a potentially really bad situation when there are people, even if they’re being peaceful at the time, they’re angry. And that’s why they would be there, right?”

Doocy is suggesting that there are only certain public places where it’s “appropriate” to protest. Perhaps he’d like to confine protesters to garbage dumps outside of town. Although you have to wonder if Doocy would approve of protesting at women’s health clinics and harassing their patients. And why does Fox News consider it “appropriate” for protesters (aka violent insurrectionists) to break into Congress and threaten its members.

RELATED: Jon Stewart Nails It: The Supreme Court is Now the Fox News of Justice

It is also ironic that Doocy introduces the concept of “privacy” in this context, since that’s the Constitutional right that Kavanaugh and his radical rightist colleagues took a way with their irrational decision reversing Roe vs Wade.

Finally, Doocy is very concerned that protesters might be angry. Because obviously you should only be allowed to protest things that make you happy. And his complaint about “potentially really bad situations … even if they’re being peaceful,” is another assault on the Constitution that violates the standard of prior constraint.

Jean-Pierre exhibited profound patience with Doocy’s relentless inquisition. And while she eventually told him that “I’m done here, Peter,” she should have cut him off sooner. His childish antics should not be tolerated. They are irrelevant to the important matters that need to be discussed, and they just waste everyone’s time.

Fox News Bashes Boris Johnson for the Same Things Trump Did, But Still Fawn Over Trump

After a tumultuous tenure as Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has resigned the post amid myriad scandals and cabinet resignations. Donald Trump was a big fan of Johnson and his BREXIT crusade to remove the U.K. from the European Union. Now both have been ousted from office in disgrace.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Mask, Fox News

That, however, is not the only thing that Trump and Johnson have in common. On Fox News the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends inadvertently highlighted some of the other unsavory similarities between the two spurned politicians. The segment featured co-host Steve Doocy’s critical summation of Johnson’s departure. But with the changing of a few words, the criticism seems to fit Trump even better (video below). Doocy said that…

“What has happened for years is that the British people did not trust him. He would say one thing and then go do something else. And then pop up in the tabloids. And then with this thing, it’s a question of integrity. He has refused to go, even though people have been calling for him to hit the pavement for a while, because he would say look, ‘I have a mandate. I had an additional 14 million votes from voters who voted for me in 2019. So I’m gonna stick around.”

Just substitute “British” with “American” and you have a pretty good description of Trump. The American people never trusted him. He lost the popular vote (twice) and never reached even 50% approval at any time during his term. He was a frequent dweller in the tabloids due to his relentless lying, constant infantile outrage, and painfully ignorant remarks.

RELATED: Crybaby Trump Bashes Fox News, ‘Perverts’ and ‘RINOS’ Who ‘Didn’t Have the Guts’ to Impeach Him

And of course, Trump refused to go. He still denies that he lost and desperately clings to utterly fictional claims of millions of votes that he never got. The Fox fiends continued saying that…

“Fifty-three government officials called it quits. The government of the United Kingdom and of England was in dire needs of somebody to run different cabinet positions and things like that. And so, apparently, his assistants were trying to fill the positions as quickly as people would quit. But they couldn’t. And they were people in charge of security, the courts, technology, education, finance.”

Many more people called it quits during the Trump administration. And many of those departures were for misconduct in office. Counting only the cabinet officials, in just four years, Trump had five times the turnover of President Obama who served eight years. Consequently, Trump often had “acting” heads of critical departments such as Defense, State, Justice, Labor, Transportation, Energy, Education, Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, the CIA, and even his White House Chief of Staff. He did this to partially to avoid having get these officials confirmed by the Senate, and partially because he couldn’t find people who were remotely qualified. But that wasn’t all. Fox and Friends co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy added that…

“His problems really started with COVID. It wasn’t clear how he was going to handle COVID. Then he got COVID. He almost died. He said it was really touch and go.”

This entire segment could have served as justification for Trump to have resigned or been impeached (which he was, twice) during his occupation of the White House. But while Fox News regards these facts about Johnson to be evidence of his failure, they still fawn over Trump, whose malfeasance was much worse. At least Johnson never fomented a violent insurrection to defile democracy and overthrow the British government.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News Blames Mass Shootings on – Women? (Also Drugs, Porn, Video Games)

The horrific incidents of mass shootings have reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Even patriotic events such as 4th of July parades in sleepy upscale suburbs are not immune. But despite the lives lost and families shattered by this senseless violence, the Republican Party, and their enablers on Fox News, still refuse to take action against the tools of the terrorist’s trade – guns.

Click here to Tweet this article

Tucker Carlson, Fox News

How can this problem be solved when Republican representatives in Congress can’t even acknowledge that guns are the primary cause of the body count in these massacres? Instead, they struggle to change the subject or avoid it entirely. Donald Trump hasn’t even mentioned the July 4th shooting. But he did obsess about himself and his legal tribulations.

RELATED: Trump Drops an Utterly Unhinged Harangue to Celebrate Himself on the 4th of July

While the recent gun reform bill that just passed makes some incremental progress, it left out critical measures such as banning military-style weapons, implementing universal background checks, manufacturer liability, and age limit restrictions on purchases. And even in that compromised form the vast majority of GOP senators voted against it.

It is not a coincidence that the cowardice of the ultra-conservative Republican Party is reflective of the propaganda disseminated by right-wing media, particularly Fox News. Their editorial stance on the issue has been consistently pro-gun. And with each new mass shooting they reiterate that position and seek to shift the blame to other alleged causes, despite the absence of evidence to support their deflection.

Chief among the NRA-theists is Fox’s Senior Misogynist, Tucker Carlson. On Tuesday night he delivered a monologue that went to great lengths to absolve guns of any liability for the death toll (video below). Instead, he blamed drugs, schools, porn, video games, and – women!?! That’s right, the notorious woman-hating, ball-tanner, is now asserting that mass shootings are the fault of the “mostly women” authorities in the lives of the shooters…

“Look at Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo. Would you sell a gun to that guy? Does he seem like a nutcase? Of course he does. So why didn’t anyone raise an alarm? Well, maybe because he didn’t stand out. Maybe because there are a lot of young men in America who suddenly look and act a lot like this guy. That’s not an attack; it’s just true. Like Crimo they inhabit a solitary fantasy world of social media, porn, and video games. They’re high on government endorsed weed. Smoke some more it’s good for you.

First of all, Carlson is making the argument that mass shooters can be recognized by the way they look. And even though gun fetishists like Carlson generally object to any restrictions on purchasing firearms, he now thinks that looks would be an acceptable criteria. After all, would you sell a gun to this guy (See Carlson’s photo above)?

But Carlson was just getting started. He went on to describe shooters as waifs for whom it is “guaranteed” “their lives will not be better than their parents’,” and that they have been deliberately drugged by evil school counselors. Which makes you wonder what kinds of schools little Tucker attended. And judging by the following remarks, you also have to wonder about the women in his life.

“They are numbed by the endless psychotropic drugs that are handed out at every school in the country by crackpots posing as counselors. […] And yet the authorities in their lives – mostly women – never stop lecturing them about their so-called privilege. ‘You’re male, you’re privileged.'”

Carlson concluded by reiterating that “A lot of young men in America are going nuts. Are you surprised?” This is a common, femophobic fixation for Carlson who has disgorged elaborate harangues asserting that there is some sort of clandestine government plot to deplete the testosterone of American males. He even produced an entire crocumentary on the subject – “The End of Men.” – that played out more like a soft-core gay porn paean to the supremacy of patriarchy.

SEE: Macho Poser Tucker Carlson’s Journey from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to ‘The End of Men’

Carlson is not alone on Fox News as a propagator of these preposterous hypotheses. Laura Ingraham also sought to deflect from guns by asking her viewers to look into the eyes of “some of the mass killers who have reportedly been regular pot users.” After which, she has the gall to accuse the media of “fear mongering on fake issues.”

Every reputable expert on gun violence has debunked the conspiracy kooks who point their bony fingers at drugs, porn, and video games as the causes of mass shootings. Every other developed country on the planet has all of those influences, but not anything close to the frequency and fatality of the gun violence that occurs in the U.S.

The efforts to cast blame on those behaviors is just the Republican’s way of protecting their benefactors in the NRA and the gun industry. It is also their method of keeping their dimwitted constituents scared and submissive. But Carlson’s addition of women to the list of culprits is both perverse and dangerous. And it says much more about his own insecurities and impotence than it does about the women he fears and hates. After all, he is the same deviant sicko who laments the declining sex appeal of cartoon M&Ms…

Republicans Are in Denial, Trump Feeds the Sickness, and the GOP Blames That on – Joe Biden?

There is growing consensus that the Republican Party has devolved into a cult that worships at the bone-spurred feet of the twice-impeached, former reality TV game show host, and failed pseudo-businessman, Donald Trump. Even longtime GOP stalwarts are conceding that Trump is guilty of numerous crimes related to the January 6th insurrection that he incited.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

Joining the company of Trump critics this weekend was Republican senator – and the 2012 GOP nominee for president – Mitt Romney. He published an op-ed in “The Atlantic” entitled America Is in Denial,” that addressed, among other things, the toxic division that is polluting the American political environment. Romney’s key point was that the nation is too possessed by partisanship to solve any of its problems. He complained that…

“The left thinks the right is at fault for ignoring climate change and the attacks on our political system. The right thinks the left is the problem for ignoring illegal immigration and the national debt.”

There is, however, a glaring flaw in Romney’s logic. The left is telling the truth when they note that the the right ignores climate change and attacks the political system. In fact, many on the right believe that climate change is a hoax, and Trump leads those who demean our institutions and the Constitution.

Meanwhile, the right is lying when they assert the the left ignores immigration and the national debt. In fact, more immigrants are being apprehended now than at any time during the Trump administration. And Biden has reduced the deficit by more than a trillion dollars. And those are just a couple of the accomplishments that Romney and the GOP strive so vigorously to suppress.

RELATED: For Those Wondering What Biden and Democrats in Congress Have Been Doing the Past 16 Months…

Romney went on to demonstrate a bit of the non-partisan cordiality that has made him a pariah among his own Republican colleagues. He said that…

“President Joe Biden is a genuinely good man, but he has yet been unable to break through our national malady of denial, deceit, and distrust. A return of Donald Trump would feed the sickness, probably rendering it incurable. Congress is particularly disappointing: Our elected officials put a finger in the wind more frequently than they show backbone against it.”

Indeed, Trump is an infectious agent who spreads deceit and distrust. And Republicans in Congress have proven that they are mostly useless due to their cowardice and/or complicity with Trump’s anti-American crusade to MAGA (Make America Go Authoritarian).

More to the point, Romney is absurd in the extreme when he asserts that the these problems are President Biden’s fault. It is preposterous to blame Biden for the fact that Republicans have adopted a knee-jerk opposition to anything that emanates from Biden, his administration, or his party. The GOP is wholly responsible for their own pigheadedness.

It is the stubborn obstructionism of the GOP that is the cause of America’s “national malady.” Without that burden the nation could have already passed legislation improving the economy and mitigating inflation. They could have avoided the reversal in constitutional liberties imposed by the radical rightists on the Supreme Court. They could have implemented gun reforms that would save lives. They could have codified voting rights and measures to insure fair elections.

It is not Biden’s fault that Republicans would rather suck up to Trump than to do the people’s business and pursue the people’s interests. And Republicans have an ally in their sabotage of the public good. That, of course, is the right-wing media, led by Fox News, where hate mongering and the brainwashing of their audience is the primary editorial mission.

RELATED: Frightened Fox News Audience Tunes Out January 6th Hearings Even When They Air on Fox

Romney closed by saying “I hope for a president who can rise above the din to unite us behind the truth.” Which is exactly what Biden has been doing. The only reason it hasn’t caught on with other Republicans and red state dwellers is because phonies like Romney – and his Fox News enablers – insist on denying reality, embracing partisanship, and purposefully propagating lies.

When people like Romney can tell the truth – that American is not in denial, Republicans are – we might actually begin to see some real progress. In the meantime, we need to elect more Democrats to counteract the serious sickness that Romney nibbled at the edges of in his self-serving editorial.

Jon Stewart Nails It: The Supreme Court is Now the Fox News of Justice

The just ended Supreme Court session produced a number of historically disastrous decisions that are utterly disconnected from constitutional law. They ruled against a woman’s right to reproductive choice. They curbed the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate deadly carbon emissions. They weakened states’ rights to limit access to guns. They allowed religion to be forced on public school students.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Supreme Court, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Barrett

These decisions are an assault on the principles of a free society. They will undoubtedly result in greater harm to millions of Americans, including many who will die due the Court’s radical biases and strict obedience to their extremist ideological dogma.

The rulings also have something in common with each other. They are all identical to the uber-rightist political positions articulated daily on Fox News. Both the decisions, and the faulty “reasoning” used to support them, are straight out of the mouths of Fox’s Ultra-MAGA hosts and guests.

That partisan conformity was recognized by America’s most prominent living humorist, Jon Stewart. “The Supreme Court is now ‘the Fox News of justice,'” Stewart recently observed. He further noted that the rulings emanating from the hard-right faction of this Court have no consistency, saying that “States can’t regulate guns, but they can regulate uteruses.” He continued…

“‘It is a cynical pursuit in the same way that Fox News would come out with ‘we’re fair and balanced’ under the patina of what would be a high-status pursuit to the betterment of society, journalism. They are a cynical political arm.”

Indeed. The conservative justices are no better than the hacks on Fox News who shape their commentaries to fit their prejudices. They are flagrantly constructing a legal foundation that reflects their staunchly right-wing conclusions, rather than the Constitution. Stewart also addressed the Senate confirmation process, saying that…

“When you look at the ridiculous kabuki theater now of justice confirmation, where they can just go out there and just fucking lie, like if this were about debate, then they would’ve understood what perjury meant.”

Stewart is referring to justices Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett, who all told the Senate that they would respect judicial precedent and the settled law of cases such as Roe vs Wade. They lied. And now they are on the Court where their opinions are implementing the Fox News agenda. Some examples of the intertwining wingnut justices with Fox include…

The problem with Stewart’s otherwise appropriate observation is that the Donald Trump-appointed justices might regard the connection to Fox News as a compliment. They are not ashamed of their affiliation with the crackpot contingent in the media. To the contrary, they are proud of it. And because of their inherent power to interpret constitutional laws that affect every American, they are even more dangerous to the welfare of the nation than Fox News. Which is really saying something.

Cassidy Hutchinson Testimony for the January 6th Committee Breaks TV Viewing Records

On Tuesday the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection that Donald Trump incited held a previously unscheduled hearing. It featured jarring testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who Trump incredulously claimed he hardly knew.

Donald Trump

Hutchinson revealed that Trump was aware that weapons were present at his January 6th rally speech, and that he “didn’t f—ing care” because “they aren’t here to hurt me.” She also disclosed Trump’s seething anger that erupted into food flinging tantrums. And she told the Committee that White House lawyers were worried about criminal charges and that several members of Congress had sought pardons from Trump. These revelations and more have triggered Trump to whine about the Committee not presenting his side of the story. But that’s primarily because he has been too cowardly to show up and defend himself under oath, as all of the Republican witnesses have done.

RELATED: Crybaby Trump Slams the January 6th Committee For Nixing His Witnesses – Who Refused to Testify

Contrary to Trump’s repeated lying, the Committee’s televised hearings have been watched by millions of concerned Americans. And Hutchinson’s testimony drew even more viewers than all of the other sessions, with the exception of the first one that aired in primetime. In fact, it drew more viewers than all but the last of the NBA championship games. According to the Los Angeles Times

“Cassidy Hutchinson testimony set audience record for a daytime Jan. 6 hearing.”

“More than 13 million Americans tuned in to watch bombshell testimony from a former White House aide this week, making the Jan. 6 committee’s latest hearing its second-most-viewed thus far.

“The Tuesday afternoon hearing, which the committee announced just a day ahead of time, featured 25-year-old Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as an aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Her dramatic testimony attracted 13,231,000 viewers across all major networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, according to numbers from Nielsen, a ratings firm. This total topped the previous four hearings, which won audiences of about 10 million to 11 million people. The first Jan. 6 hearing, on June 9, drew about 20 million viewers, but it aired in prime time.”

Notably absent from the list of networks above is Fox News. That’s because it barely contributed to the viewing totals. Fox’s audience is apparently so attached to the lies that shape their alternative reality, that they will even tune out Fox News – the source of the lies that shape their alternative reality. Then, when the frightening truth-telling is over, they stream back to watch Sean Hannity and the network’s other propaganda pushers.

The hearings are being closely followed by a majority (58%) of Americans. And they are having a noticeable impact on public opinion. When asked in a recent poll if “misleading Americans about the outcome of an election” is a crime, a massive majority of 69% said definitely/probably “Yes,” including 59% of Republicans. The numbers were almost identical when respondents were asked whether “the Department of Justice should bring legal action against” the offending elected officials.

What’s more, the L.A. Times quoted pollster Celinda Lake saying that…

“The support for the hearings has increased over time. And what is emerging very, very strongly from the hearings is not just that [former President] Trump was responsible, but there was a faction of the Republicans, Trump Republicans, who were responsible as well. And that this was about overturning the will of the people, overturning the elections.” […and that…]

“There is an evolving narrative. People see it as a crime, but they also see it as a criminal conspiracy. They demand accountability, and they’re very serious about what they consider accountability. And we are seeing these numbers increase quite dramatically over the course of the hearings.”

As for Trump, he has been behaving in precisely the deranged manner that is expected of such an emotionally stunted man-baby. Throughout the hearings the former reality TV game show host (who is psychotically obsessed with TV ratings) has flung flagrant falsehoods about the unprecedented audience the hearings have generated. His gaslighting lies included…

It remains among the most puzzling aspects of the Trump era that he can so shamelessly foster such easily provable lies, and that there are still people so indoctrinated into his cult that they believe him.

And that’s what makes him so dangerous. What’s next? Will Trump merely continue with his grifting and the fleecing of his followers? Will he attempt to start a civil war? Will he pass out cups of “Kool-Aid” at his next rally? Unfortunately, there is no way to predict what depths Trump might sink to. Nor is there any way to calculate the bottom. After trying to violently overthrow the U.S. government, He is literally capable of anything.

Crybaby Trump Whines on Newsmax About the Increasingly Incriminating January 6th Hearings

As the hearings by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection continue, the twice-impeached, former reality TV game show host who incited it is becoming ever more rattled and desperate. Donald Trump has been seething with rage that is fueling his latest round of lies and infantile insults.

Donald Trump WTF

Not satisfied with posting his rants on his failing TRUTH Social Twitter clone, Trump spent some quality time with the fawning sycophants at Newsmax (video below). The resulting “interview” with Trump toady Rob Finnerty was notable only for Trump’s relentless and tedious repetition of his “greatest hits” from the past, including crowd pleasers like “Russia, Russia, Russia,” the Ukraine extortion, and of course, his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. Trump also had his spokes-shill post the video of this interview on Twitter, after she and Trump swore never to tweet again. That lasted just three weeks.

In the Newsmax interview, Trump eventually did get around to more current news being made by the January 6th Committee. And not surprisingly, he was fixated on Tuesday’s witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, assistant to Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows. The main point that Trump sought to make was that he hardly knew the top aide to his highest ranking White House staffer. That’s an admission of a remarkable state of cognitive disengagement.

After being asked the first question, Trump rambled endlessly about the Committee that is so effectively illuminating his legal and moral malfeasance. He began by replying to a question about Hutchinson’s testimony:

“I thought it was absolutely crazy. This committee is, a lot of people say, illegally formed. But when you look at what they’re doing, and what they’re saying, and what they’re doing to their country – and now the good news is a lot of people aren’t watching, a lot of people aren’t listening to it – but they’re trying to do real harm.

First of all, the only people saying that the committee was “illegally formed” are the voices in Trump’s diseased cranium. And as for whether people are watching, Trump surely knows that the ratings have been through the roof. Well, except for Fox News where viewers were so afraid of being exposed to actual facts that they refused to tune in. But Trump’s outburst was only just beginning. He continued raging that…

“This lady yesterday [Hutchinson]. There’s something wrong with her? Is there something wrong? She said I jumped from the car and I started strangling? Think of this…I started strangling a Secret Service agent who I know very well. I grabbed the steering wheel of a car. Said that I wanted guns at my rally. I didn’t want guns. I have to speak too, and I didn’t want guns for anybody.

Taking his cue from the Trump-fluffing, right-wing media, Trump focused on a brief part of Hutchinson’s testimony that was actually her representation of what she was told by someone else. The only report of it being disputed was via an anonymous source who wasn’t there either. Virtually everything else she said was first-hand and corroborated. And in regards to his willingness to allow guns into his rally and the subsequent riots at the Capitol, Trump himself was the source. He told the crowd at his speech that he wanted the Secret Service to remove the magnetometers that scan for weapons so that his audience would be bigger.

Moving on, Trump said that Hutchinson was “living in fantasyland,” and is “social climber.” He complained that “it’s shame that this is happening to our country,” and that there weren’t any Republicans to dispute the testimony. Although he immediately acknowledge two of them: Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney. But he dismissed them because Kinzinger has announced that he isn’t running for reelection, and Cheney is “down by 35 points.” As if that has anything to do with the substance of the hearings.

What Trump didn’t mention is that it was GOP minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and the Republicans who opposed the creation of an independent, non-partisan commission to conduct the investigation. And he has no standing to complain about representation considering that he ordered his supporters (i.e. flunkies) not to cooperate with the Committee. And there is nothing stopping him from appearing before the Committee to tell his side of the story, except for his own cowardice and consciousness of guilt.

Trump also repeated the debunked lie that he offered 10,000 National Guard troops to protect Congress – from his supporters?. Then he segued to whining that the media didn’t report how big his crowd was and, of course, more ranting about how the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. For which he still hasn’t been able to provide a shred of evidence after more than a year and a half and sixty court cases.

During the interview, Trump also criticized Fox News. Finnerty specifically mentioned the moment when Bret Baier noted that Hutchinson’s testimony was “very compelling from beginning to end,” and “really, really powerful.” Trump replied saying that “Fox doesn’t put it [election fraud lies] on and, by the way, you people don’t put it on either. You’re afraid of being sued or something. [and you will] probably cut what I’m saying out.”

Actually, Newsmax has already been sued, along with Fox News and others, for defamation by two voting systems companies: Dominion and Smartmatic. The only thing puzzling about this is why Trump isn’t a defendant in those lawsuits. However, Finnerty assured Trump that his lies would be included when the interview aired, along with his attack on Fox News.

It is obviously in the interest of Newsmax to disparage Fox, the network that Newsmax host Greg Kelly recently called “fake news.” Which is a deliciously ironic turn of events. As is Trump accusing Newsmax to its face of planning to alter the interview. It just affirms that Trump is solely obsessed with how he is presented, even when he’s whining on friendly forums like Newsmax.
