GOP Scandal Mongers Float a Wild New Impeachment Charge Against Biden for Talking to his Son

The Republican Party is clearly suffering from severe and debilitating delusions about President Biden. They are freakishly fixated on their bizarre and wholly unwarranted determination to implicate him for some (any) crime and to remove him office for whatever imaginary offense they manufacture.

Joe Biden, GOP, Elephant

Republicans have held their razor-thin (and shrinking) majority in the House of Representatives for nearly a year now. And in that time they have fanatically focused on their depraved Biden obsession to the exclusion of everything else, including avoiding a debt ceiling default, funding the government, supporting allies in Israel and Ukraine, reforming immigration policy, and much more. Their BCD (Biden Compulsive Disorder) has resulted in the House breaking the modern records for inactivity and ineptitude.

SEE THIS: DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Most Productive Ever (LOL)

The latest fabrication from the GOP Bullsh*t Factory is a real doozy. A couple of weeks ago Hunter Biden spoke on the steps of the Capitol to inform Republicans that he was ready to testify before their committee in public hearings. But the GOP committee chairs, Jim Jordan and James Comer, refused, insisting that he be deposed behind closed doors.

The GOP’s position is predictable considering how badly they have been humiliated in their previous public hearings. Their own witnesses testified that President Biden had done nothing wrong. They only want to conduct future hearings in private so that they can lie about it afterward. And now that Hunter has called their bluff, they are inventing new allegations that make no sense at all. As reported by The Hill…

“House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) are suggesting that President Biden may have ‘engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress’ if he knew that his son Hunter Biden planned to defy a congressional subpoena […] and said it ‘could constitute an impeachable offense.'”

WTF? This charge boils down to the GOP asserting that Biden can be impeached for the high crime of talking to his son. There is absolutely no constitutional prohibition of presidents discussing things that their children might tell reporters about pending litigation. It would be different if Biden were interfering with the Justice Department, but there is no hint of evidence of anything remotely approaching that.

Jordan and Comer are also saying that a refusal to comply with a congressional subpoena constitutes obstruction of Congress. That’s just plain preposterous. Congress is not impeded from functioning simply because a single witness disputes the validity of a subpoena and declines to testify. But if it were true, then Jim Jordan is the one who should be prosecuted. He has been refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena for over a year now. And you can add Trump flunkies Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, and Dan Scavino, to the list of those subpoena evaders who are contemptuous of Congress.

SEE ALSO: Rep Swalwell Skewers GOP Committee Chair Jim Jordan for Hypocritical Attack on Merrick Garland

To make matters worse, Comer scampered off to a right-wing cable outlet to complain about his being ignored by Hunter Biden. He whined to Newsmax that…

“I’ve told my colleagues in the Republican conference, if Hunter Biden doesn’t comply with our subpoena then we might as well throw the subpoena power away cause nobody’s gonna comply with a congressional subpoena. The fact that the Democrats used their subpoenas for political reasons, for fishing expeditions, and here we have a credible investigation where we’ve been transparent with the American people, we have mountains of evidence.”

Comer’s complaint about the value of congressional subpoenas is a little late considering all of the Republicans who have already devalued it. The difference is that Democrats didn’t cry like babies when Republicans didn’t show. Democrats presented their evidence and moved on. Republicans, however, can’t do that because they don’t actually have any evidence. Which is the reason they always end up resorting to whining so pathetically instead. What else can they do?

On Fox News Jessica Tarlov Summarizes the Success of Bidenomics that the Media Refuses to Cover

The record of the first three years of President Biden’s administration has been remarkably productive. Even with tight margins in the Congress, Biden was able to get legislation through that boosted the economy, expanded healthcare, mitigated climate change, created jobs, and much more. All while reducing the deficit.

Fox News, Joe Biden

By contrast, Republicans focused squarely on matters of such profound importance as personal political vendettas, fighting among themselves, and running defense for Dear Leader Donald Trump. They held countless hearings on whether to impeach Biden for crimes they couldn’t name or provide any evidence for. In their spare time they threatened to throw the nation into economic turmoil by failing to raise the debt ceiling or pass the appropriations bills necessary for the government to function.

SEE THIS: DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Most Productive Ever (LOL)

Despite the successes of Biden and the Democrats, they are not getting the credit they deserve for their efforts. That’s largely due to the failure of the media to report accurately about the abundant good news. They seem determined to distort reality in favor the Republicans, either because of their inherent conservative biases, or their belief that close races and conflict – even if it’s manufactured – make for better ratings.

This week, however, a bit of truth slipped through the filters in the most unlikely of places, Fox News. Jessica Tarlov, the designated liberal who alone faces four snarling conservatives on Fox’s “The Five,” was given a brief opportunity to present the case for the Democrats. And even though it was introduced with a snide dismissal by wingnut Tom Shillue, sitting in for the execrable Greg Gutfeld, it was the sort of factual summation that every news network should be reporting…

Shillue: Where do we go from here? Twenty seconds to defend the indefensible.
Tarlov: We go right back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because we do have good economic news, but the media doesn’t want to cover it. He is correct. He shouldn’t just say you’re looking at the wrong thing. They need to communicate this better.

But we got revised third quarter GDP growth up to 4.9 percent. Unheard of. Consumer confidence went up 14 percent. Largest jump in a decade. Inflation is running at an annualized rate below Powell’s target, which is why he’s talking about a rate cut. Personal income is up. Grocery and energy prices down last month.

In the Quinnipiac poll – this part of it is really important – they did a forward-looking question, what do you think 2024 is going to be like? 48 percent said the economy is going to be better, and 62 percent think that they are going to be better off in the next year. When is the election? November 2024. Democrats, make your case. There is a case to be made.

The initial subject of the segment was Fox’s complaint that Biden made a polite request that the media report honestly about the economy. Fox’s on-screen graphics exposed their biases reading “Biden Scolds Media Over Economy” and “Biden Snaps at Media.” In reality, he good naturedly encouraged them to “Take a look” at the economy and to “Start reporting it the right way.”

Perhaps they could use as a model the way they reported economic issues during the Trump years. Here’s an example from 2017 when Trump was bragging about his abysmal record and received zero pushback from the press…

With the economy performing far better today than when Trump occupied the White House, the media continues to downplay the positive stories that the public needs to make their electoral decisions next year. Consequently, Biden is having trouble getting his approval ratings up. But this election is important for reasons that exceed the economy.

Today the nation is literally facing a choice between preserving our democracy or succumbing to the authoritarianism openly promised by Trump and the Republicans. So any aid and comfort that the media gives to Trump et al, makes them complicit with their march toward dictatorship. That’s an editorial path that the press really needs to reconsider.

Fox News Hack Jonathan Turley Likens Trump’s ‘Rot in Hell’ Christmas Message to – ‘Die Hard’?

Christmas at Mar-a-Lago is celebrated in a profoundly different and disgusting fashion than it is in the rest of America, or the world for that matter. A holiday whose branding for a couple of thousand years has been “Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward Men” (and now women, too), is seen by Donald Trump and his fetid family as just another day to unload acrimony and loathing.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News Sad

Trump confirmed his perverse perspective on Christmas in a holiday message that he posted to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, on Christmas day. It was brimming with the “mirthful” malice of someone suffering from acute animosity and debilitating depression.

SEE THIS: Crybaby Trump is Whining (Again) About Having a Blue Xmas – Poor Thing

Trump’s greeting to his faithful cult followers was a steaming stew of self-pity and political poison aimed at his perceived enemies, aka the majority of the American people. Trump raged

“Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic [and] World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS we have inside our Country [and] so much more, [who] are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

Nothing warms the heart at Christmas time like being told to “ROT IN HELL” by an aspiring dictator/messiah who abhors the faithful he has somehow persuaded to worship him. His message also reveals his hatred for American leaders who he regards as more “evil” than the savage tyrants he admires and hopes to emulate, such as Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping, etc.

If that weren’t bad enough, one of Trump’s most devoted defenders came to his rescue after the hellish greeting he delivered. Jonathan Turley, a professor of law at George Washington University, and a Fox News contributor, offered a patently absurd commentary that he thought would slap a happy face onto Trump’s tirade. Turley wrote that…

“Trump’s message of ‘May They Rot in Hell…Merry Christmas’ is to holiday greetings what Die Hard is to Christmas movies: a matter of considerable interpretation for those of us stuck in the Peace-on-Earth or even just Ho-Ho-Ho mindset.”

WTF is Turley talking about? There is absolutely nothing that is remotely similar in his ludicrous musing. On the one hand we have Trump’s purposeful and personal condemnation of people with whom he disagrees to the realm of Satan. On the other hand is a cinematic crime drama intended for entertainment purposes only. The film’s only villains are fictional terrorists who are trying to kill innocent people. Trump’s foes are his actual fellow Americans who have political opinions intended to help people by expanding healthcare, providing food, prohibiting prejudice, reducing gun violence, creating jobs, mitigating climate change, etc.

How are those things related in Turley’s crackpot cranial cavity? His bizarre comment can only be seen as a desperate and lame and blatantly political attempt to salvage Trump’s already festering reputation. And this isn’t Turley’s first such embarrassment. He was also one of Trump’s Senate impeachment defenders. It’s astonishing that someone with Turley’s bias, incoherence, and ignorance is still employed by a reputable academic institution. Although it’s not surprising at all that such idiocy is welcomed on Fox News.

UPDATE: The day after Christmas Trump again condemned to Hades his perceived enemies saying that, “Biden’s Flunky, Deranged Jack Smith, should go to HELL.” It’s just more evidence of his fear of being convicted for his felonious acts.

Crybaby Trump is Whining (Again) About Having a Blue Xmas – Poor Thing

On this Christmas Day, most of the American people who celebrate it are gathering with their families, exchanging gifts, and finding gratitude for their good fortune, even when circumstances might make that difficult for some. It’s a day for accentuating the positive and giving thanks.

Donald Trump, Santa, Coronavirus

That, however, does not appear to be the situation on this holiday morning at Mar-a-Lago, the luxury resort/home of Donald Trump who, despite his trappings of wealth and privilege, remains perpetually grounded in grievance and malice. And his family seems to have completely disappeared. The angst that he is nursing today was previewed in his Christmas Eve prayer for relief from his legal liabilities…

SEE THIS: Trump’s Craven Christmas Prayer for Presidential Immunity and an End to Yuletide Witch Hunts

Now that Christmas is upon him, Trump went out of his way to deliver a message to his glassy-eyed cult followers that was fraught with the festivity that marks this Season of Joy. Or at least what Trump, in his perverse perspective, thinks is festive. He posted the following holiday greetings on his failing social media scam, Truth Social

“It’s hard to have a truly great Christmas when you have a Crooked and Incompetent President who wants to put his Political Opponent in jail, and who has been working hard (for a change!), illegally using all of the levers of Law Enforcement, to do so. We are in the fight of our lives to save our Country from MADNESS & DOOM. MAGA 2024!!!”

That’s so sad. Trump is having a hard time making Christmas great again. Which is ironic since he frequently brags that, before he came along, no one was allowed to say “Merry Christmas” at all.

As is often the case, Trump’s blather generally describes himself better than it does the targets of his seething animus. In this case, his complaint about a “Crooked and Incompetent President who wants to put his Political Opponent in jail” could not be more descriptive of Trump if it had been written by Hillary Clinton.

Trump’s crookedness is evident in the 91 felony charges that are currently pending against him. His incompetence is demonstrated in virtually everything he does, including his deadly mismanagement of the COVID pandemic; his failure to stop immigration with a vanity wall that Mexico never paid for; his never materializing infrastructure plan; likewise his nonexistent healthcare plan; his adding trillions of dollars to the national debt with tax cuts for corporations and the rich; and his three years of raging about the 2020 election being “rigged and stolen,” and promising irrefutable evidence, despite never providing a shred of his alleged proof.

SEE ALSO: Trump’s Derangement Spirals Ever Downward as He Impotently Promises to Prove His Innocence

As for Trump’s complaint about who “wants to put his Political Opponent in jail,” that’s another hallmark of Trumpism, who campaigned on locking up Clinton and went on to call for incarcerating dozens of others he regards as enemies, including the press.

Trump closes his holiday harangue by fear mongering that “We are in the fight of our lives to save our Country from MADNESS & DOOM!!! (Note the three exclamation points). What could be more in the spirit of the season than threatening to wage war on fellow Americans who he accuses of being insane harbingers of the Apocalypse? No wonder he’s finding it “hard to have a truly great Christmas.” For him it must be torture.

Nevertheless, News Corpse would like to continue its holiday tradition by presenting a musical gift that is truly inclusive and welcoming. This is for all of those who are not huddled around a dead tree today, buried in colorfully wrapped packages. It’s for the cynics who won’t accept the notion that the birth of a messenger of peace and love is an excuse to exchange material goods or fruitcakes that nobody likes.

It is for the forsaken and forlorn, the outcasts and rebels and nonbelievers who are puzzled by the greed and commercialism that permeates the season. And yes, it’s for those who still believe that peace and goodwill are morally superior to profit and oppression. So we leave you with Miles Davis and Bob Dorough performing the heartwarming traditional Christmas ballad Blue Xmas.

And Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!!!! Even the Trump-fluffers and Biden haters at Fox News…

WOW! Fox News Exposes Biden’s ‘Freak-O-Rama’ Plot to Swap Christmas Cheer with Marxist Hate

UPDATE: Trump is getting worse as the day goes on. He posted that Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco lied to ABC News when she denied that President Biden ever talked to her or Attorney General Merrick Garland about his case or Hunter Biden’s. “What a complete lie,” Trump said, “He speaks to them all the time.” Of course he has no proof of that whatsoever. It’s just his fevered imagination inventing his own lies.

He also posted a Christmas greeting to the savage dictators that he admires and prefers to Americans, saying “none of [them] are as evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS we have inside our Country. Then, referring to the Americans, he added, “MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!” That was followed the day after Christmas by Trump again condemning to Hades his perceived enemies saying that, “Biden’s Flunky, Deranged Jack Smith, should go to HELL.” He’s clearly consumed by the fear of being convicted for his felonious acts.

Trump’s Craven Christmas Prayer for Presidential Immunity and an End to Yuletide Witch Hunts

It’s Christmas time, and Donald Trump is joining in on the festivities with caroling in the spirit of the season. Except he’s not getting the words exactly right. “Hark the heinous angel,” whines Trump petulantly about losing an election three years ago and being held accountable for inciting an insurrection and trying to undermine democracy.

Donald Trump Christmas

As is his tradition for the holidays, Trump is filled with anger and animosity toward everyone who he feels has failed to be sufficiently worshipful toward him. The wannabe messiah who pretends to have liberated Americans to say “Merry Christmas,” has a rather bizarre impression of what that means. Meanwhile, President Biden and his family gather together to celebrate the joy that this season brings, despite Fox News mocking them for it…

SEE THIS: Fox News Exposes Biden’s ‘Freak-O-Rama’ Plot to Swap Christmas Cheer with Marxist Hate

On the day before Christmas, Trump took to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, to spread the hatred in his heart. Rather than thinking about family or gifts or world peace, Trump was consumed by the fear of his mounting legal tribulations. He wrote that…

“I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable. Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to IMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, I DID NOTHING WRONG. Stop the Witch Hunt NOW!”

How inspiring! It’s difficult to tell exactly what Trump was yammering about. But a little research reveals that he was upset with recent developments with regard to his indictments for election interference. His attorneys filed a motion the day before asking that the charges be dismissed. As reported by CNN

“Donald Trump urged a federal appeals court to throw out the federal election subversion criminal case in Washington, DC, again arguing in a filing late Saturday that he is protected under presidential immunity.” […]

“The filing reiterates what the former president’s lawyers have repeatedly asserted – that Trump was working in his official capacity as president to ‘ensure election integrity’ when he allegedly undermined the 2020 election results and therefore has immunity.”

Trump’s legal arguments have all been rejected in prior court proceedings. But that doesn’t stop him from repeating them again, hoping for a different outcome. He also isn’t deterred by the sheer absurdity of his claims. How can he assert that he wasn’t campaigning, and that the election was over, when everything he was trying to do was aimed at overturning the certified election results?

What’s more, Trump’s claims of “presidential immunity” are so preposterously broad that they would indemnify a president from any crime, including murder. Does he really want to set that legal precedent while Joe Biden is still in the White House? Not that Biden would ever do anything like that, but in Trump’s mind, and the minds of his glassy-eyed cult followers, it’s more grist for their crackpot conspiracy theory mills.

Trump’s post also regurgitates his frequent claim to have “voluminous and irrefutable” proof of election fraud. It remains a mystery as to why he has declined to present any of it after more than three years and 60+ court cases. Equally mysterious is Trump’s argument that prosecuting him is unconstitutional. His filing makes the ludicrous assertion that…

“Before any single prosecutor can ask a court to sit in judgment of the President’s conduct, Congress must have approved of it by impeaching and convicting the President. That did not happen here, and so President Trump has absolute immunity. [and that Trump’s indictment] threatens to launch cycles of recrimination and politically motivated prosecution that will plague our Nation for many decades to come.'”

Where Trump gets the idea that Congress must impeach and convict a president prior to any prosecution is anyone’s guess. It’s certainly not anywhere in the Constitution. Nor is his nonsensical notion of immunity. However, he is reminding everyone that he was impeached twice and the second time he was convicted by a majority of the Senate – including seven Republicans – but short of the necessary two-thirds.

More troubling is that Trump is asserting that presidents are above the law and free to commit crimes at will with total impunity. Once again, is he comfortable with Biden having that power? Furthermore, the only party threatening “to launch cycles of recrimination and politically motivated prosecution,” is Trump. And he has done so explicitly.

SEE ALSO: Trump Literally Pledges to Stage ‘RIGGED’ Trials to Punish Democrats for Upholding the Law

This is Trump’s Christmas message to his flock. And as with everything else, it is all about Trump. In the midst of the season of giving, Trump can think only of himself. There are no well wishes of joy and peace, and no photos with loving family and excited grandchildren. There is nothing that reflects the harmony and hopefulness of the holidays. In Trump’s demented mind there is only hatred and vengeance. So Merry Christmas to MAGA, and all a good fight?

Trump Unleashes a Fear-Drenched, Lie-Riddled Rant Misstating ‘Facts’ From His Many Indictments

As 2023 winds to close, Donald Trump is exhibiting ever more obvious signs of debilitating anxiety. And with the caravan of legal wagons circling around him, his emotional state is circling the drain. The closer he comes to being held accountable for the multitude of crimes he’s committed, the deeper he descends into desperation driven delusion.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Circling the Drain

The latest example of Trump’s decline is yet another rabid rant on his failing social media scam, Truth Social. It follows a tedious blast of dozens of posts wherein he shamelessly exalts himself, links to wingnut propaganda (i.e. Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, etc.), and cites polls showing him trouncing his Republican primary challengers…

FOR INSTANCE: Traitor Trump Posts Video of Putin Supporting Him and Attacking the ‘Rottenness’ of U.S. Politics

Trump was clearly having another bad morning Saturday when he woke up to find that his legal nightmares had not simply evaporated with the morning dew. So true to form, he regurgitated more of the same slop he’s been shoveling for months about how he is such a beleaguered victim of meanies out to destroy him. And this outburst was just as filled with nonsense as every other one he’s unloaded. He began

“The Supreme Court has unanimously rejected Deranged Jack Smith’s ‘SUPER SPEEDY’ lawsuit against me. This sick puppies team of Lowlifes and Radical Left Thugs could have brought this ‘case’ 3 years ago, and it would be long over by now. No, they waited until right in the middle of my very successful campaign for President.”

Let’s stop there to interject some reality. First of all, the Supreme Court did not “unanimously reject” special counsel Jack Smith’s request (it was not a “lawsuit”) to advance the question of “presidential immunity” over the appellate court. While the request was denied, the Justices’ votes were not revealed. So his claim that it was unanimous was made up. And the denial wasn’t a rejection on the merits. It just means that the matter will be heard at the appellate level before inevitably going back to the Supreme Court.

What’s more, it’s rather bizarre that Trump, who frequently complains that his cases took too long to come to court, is objecting to a request to “SUPER SPEEDY” them up now. In fact, he gripes about that very issue with his remarks about the “sick puppies” who he thinks should have gone after him three years ago. There’s just one little problem with that. Three years ago was prior to when he committed many of his crimes.

MORE HERE: Trump is FREAKING OUT, Saying that His Trials Should Have Started Before He Committed His Crimes

Most defendants would prefer an expedited path to what they believe would be their exoneration. But not Trump. Probably because he knows he’s guilty and will be convicted. Also because he hopes to delay the proceedings until he is reelected and can then quash the indictments and/or pardon himself.

Trump’s tirade continued with his boneheaded legal opinion that his indictments should be run through a political filter before being issued. He thinks that somehow his polling should have been weighed prior to his being charged.

“If I were polling poorly, like everyone else against me is (including Crooked Joe Biden!), or, for some reason, I decided not to run, they never would have even brought this ridiculous and disgraceful lawsuit. It is Election Interference like never before seen in our Country.”

So Trump is now babbling about whether he would have been charged were he not campaigning for president. But that’s just further proof of his dementia. For the record, the investigations into his crimes actually did begin before his campaign did. Probes of his hoarding of classified documents began in the summer of 2021, and the FBI opened a formal investigation on March 30, 2022. The election interference investigation in Georgia began 2021, and a grand jury was convened on May 2, 2022. The New York financial fraud case began in 2019, and the Attorney General filed a lawsuit on September 21, 2022. All of that was prior to his November 15, 2022, announcement of his 2024 campaign.

Trump still wasn’t through yammering incoherently. He continued with a preposterous divergence from the issues he himself was raising.

“In a certain way, it is real ‘insurrection,’ especially when adding the millions of people, from places unknown, that the worst President in the history of the United States is allowing to pour into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted. This insane Open Border’s decision will prove to be a mistake for the ages, but I will fix it. MAGA!!!”

There’s hardly any need to rebut the idiocy Trump is spewing there. No sane person believes that any of what Trump is saying constitutes an insurrection. He’s just trying to use projection, and doing so really badly. Furthermore, no one believes that President Biden is “the worst President in the history of the United States.” To the contrary, most Americans say that’s Trump. And no knowledgeable person believes that the borders are open. If they were there wouldn’t be record numbers of apprehensions and expulsions.

Trump’s latest hysterical harangue affirms just how low he has sunk psychologically. And just when you think he’s hit bottom, he finds another level of depth that no one could have imagined. That’s his superpower. And we should not be surprised if he sinks even farther in the weeks and months ahead.

Joe Rogan Attacks Biden for Comments About Revolutionary War Airports – But that Was Trump

The conservative media has been working overtime to portray President Biden as too old to serve as President for another four years. Never mind that he has presided over one of the most productive presidential administrations in history. It is the right’s mission to deceive the public in order to advance their own agenda on behalf of the wealthy and authoritarianism.

Click here to Tweet this article

Joe Rogan

In the past three years the nation has recovered from the worst of the COVID pandemic, cut inflation in half, seen the economy flourish, made record investments in infrastructure, created more than 14 million jobs, restored relations with international allies, provided funding to mitigate climate change, and so much more. The progress has been so obvious that even Republicans are noticing…

SEE THIS: President Biden Trolls Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Hysterically Lame Swipe at Democratic Successes

On Friday one of the right’s premier Trump-fluffers, podcaster Joe Rogan, demonstrated precisely why lying propagandists like him should be shunned. During a segment on his program, Rogan sought to mock the President as mentally deficient. But the example he chose to make his point was way off base (humiliating video below).

Rogan: Did you hear what he said yesterday, or a couple of days ago? He was talking about the Revolutionary War. He said ‘One of the reasons we lost the Revolutionary War, one of the problems with the Revolutionary war was they didn’t have enough airports.’ Have you seen that. I mean, like pull him. If you had any other job, and you were talking like that, they would go, ‘Hey, you’re done.

Rogan then played the video that he thought would support his brazenly dishonest defamation

Biden Video: By the way, the same stable genius said the biggest problem we had during the Revolutionary War is we didn’t have enough airports.

Rogan was right to recognize the absurdity of talking about airports during the Revolutionary War. But there was just one little problem. Biden didn’t say that. Biden was actually referencing something astonishingly stupid that Trump had said. Rogan’s producer then played the clip of Trump.

Trump Video: In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary forces…It ran the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do.

After Rogan was told that it was Trump who was the mental deficient, his take on the matter suddenly changed completely. When he thought that Biden made the comment it was disqualifying and proof that he should be committed to an asylum. But after learning that it was Trump, Rogan’s new assessment was merely “Oh, okay. He f**ked up.”

This is representative of how the right distorts reality for the glassy-eyed cultists that make up their audience. They don’t care whether what they are saying is true. And when their lies have been exposed they try to pretend that it was no big deal after all. In a few days they will deny that it ever happened.

What’s worse is that the suckers to whom they lied will end up believing the first version that had no connection to anything resembling the truth. And people like Rogan, and Trump, and everyone on Fox News, will encourage them to remain in their state of delusion. Which isn’t a particularly difficult task since the victims are willing participants in their deception. They are lost to us now. But hacks like Rogan still need to be countered so that their deliberate disinformation doesn’t take hold.

DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Least Productive Ever

As 2023 draws to a close, it’s a good time to reflect on the progress – or lack thereof – made by America’s political class in Washington. This year began with the Republican Party assuming a narrow majority in the House of Representatives. They promised that they would use that status to advance an agenda that would benefit the nation and its citizens.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Congress, Mike Johnson

That promise was never fulfilled. To the contrary, Republicans managed to snag a record for passing fewer bills (20) than any Congress in modern times. But what makes that “achievement” all the more humiliating is that they seem to be proud of their ineffectualness. It’s hard to argue that they weren’t purposefully determined to be political slackers. Particularly if you listen to what they have said about themselves…

SEE THIS: GOP Wants a Government Shutdown Because ‘Most of What We Do is Bad, Hurts the American People’

Considering what Republicans proposed to do in the year leading up to their congressional majority, the country might want to count their blessings that the GOP are so inept. After assuming power, they immediately set aside the issues that they ran on, such as banning abortion, racist immigration policies, tax relief for corporations and the wealthy, befouling the planet, guns for everyone, everywhere, and manufactured outrages against buzzwords like CRT, DEI, and “wokism.”

Instead, the GOP set their sights on personal political vendettas, fighting among themselves, and running defense for Dear Leader Donald Trump. As result, they managed to pass only twenty bills, most of which were trivialities such as naming buildings. The exceptions, such as raising the debt ceiling and reducing inflation, only passed with majority Democratic support.

The year end analysis of the GOP’s pitiful performance was even recognized by Fox News, who ran a segment on what they called the “Do-Nothing Congress,” with a chyron that read “Congress Has Historically Unproductive 2023.”

However, perhaps they are being unduly harsh. The 118th Congress wasn’t entirely unproductive. In fact, they scored some notable records for a majority party in the legislature. And it’s high time we give credit where credit is due. For instance…

  • The GOP held more votes (15) to elect a Speaker (Kevin McCarthy) than ever before.
  • They nominated more Speaker candidates (Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, Tom Emmer, Mike Johnson), after ousting their first Speaker nine months later, than any prior Congress.
  • They spent more time (three weeks) to run through those Speaker candidates before succeeding in electing an unknown backbencher (Mike Johnson) with dubious credentials.
  • They introduced more articles of impeachment (for President Biden, DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, FBI Director Chris Wray, U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, and Attorney General Merrick Garland) than ever.
  • And they entered more dick pix (1) into the congressional record during televised hearings than any of their predecessors.

With that record of achievement, how can anyone disparage the work ethic of the Republicans currently in charge of the House? They are clearly an energetic bunch of eager beavers intent on wasting taxpayer money and smearing their political opponents with pointless probes and knee-jerk obstructionism.

Without a doubt, they have been more prolific in those endeavors than anyone who has come before them. And no one should deprive them of that “honor.” They have even made time to help Democrats produce campaign ads that illustrate just how productive they were when they held the majority…

Jim Jordan Babbles About Trump When Asked on Fox News for Evidence to Impeach President Biden

The ongoing circus that the clowns (aka Republicans) in the House of Representatives are trying to pass off as an impeachment inquiry of President Biden continues to prove that they have nothing to support their transparently partisan and vengeance-driven farce. And immune as they are to humiliation, they just keep digging themselves into ever deeper trenches.

Jim Jordan, Biden's Emails

Ever since the GOP assumed their razor-thin (and shrinking) majority in the House, they have devoted themselves to a purely political pursuit aimed at disparaging Biden and other Democrats. It has been their singular obsession, dispensing with any pretense of serving the American people. And despite their intense focus on fictitious faultfinding, they remain breathtakingly bad at it. But that doesn’t deter them from bragging about it…

SEE THIS: GOP Speaker Admits the Purpose of the Biden Impeachment Inquiry is to Hurt Biden Politically

Wednesday morning Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, visited with his pals at the GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. However, he was startled by a un-Fox like question that actually sought to extract some useful information. Anchor John Roberts asked…

“We don’t know if it exists even – and I think a lot of people want to know about this – is where is the evidence of wrongdoing Joe Biden’s part.”

That’s a good question that has been asked repeatedly by bona fide journalists on other news networks. And Republicans have never been able to come up with a coherent answer. This occasion was no different. Jordan awkwardly stumbled around with an “everything but the kitchen sink” approach to bull manure spreading. He didn’t even bother address the question of Biden’s alleged wrongdoing. His answer was all about Trump…

“The 14th Amendment doesn’t talk about the office of the President in that section of the 14th Amendment. And, frankly, the president was put on trial and found not guilty by the United States Senate when the Democrats did their second crazy impeachment of him before. But the scariest thing of all in my judgment is the escalation with what the left will do to try to keep him out of The White House. I mean, first it was they spied on his campaign. then it was the Mueller investigation. Then it was the impeachment. Then it was raiding his home. Then it was indicting him in four different locations.”

Having completely avoided any discussion of evidence against Biden, Jordan just rattled off everything that Trump has been whining about for the past three years. It’s just Jordan’s way of shoveling too much crapola for anyone to rebut in a time-constrained television segment. And it was hardly a plot carried out by the left. Let’s take a look at his malarkey…

“The 14th Amendment doesn’t talk about the office of the President.”
No, but it does talk about being “a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State…”

“The president was put on trial and found not guilty by the United States Senate.”
No he wasn’t. And it wasn’t a trial. A majority of Senators (57), including seven Republicans, voted to convict and remove Trump from office in the second impeachment. But the Senate requires a two-thirds majority. It was not, however, a decree of not guilty.

“They spied on his campaign.”
No they didn’t. The FBI did investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, and Trump and his associates just happened to be closely connected to much of it.

“Then it was the Mueller investigation.”
Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who was appointed by Donald Trump. The Justice Department was run by Republican Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“Then it was the impeachment.”
The person solely responsible for Trump’s impeachments was Trump. He’s the one who tried to extort the president of Ukraine to get him to find dirt on Biden. And he tried to stage a violent coup to retain power after he lost the 2020 election.

“Then it was raiding his home.”
Trump’s home was not raided. He was served a lawful subpoena that he failed to comply with and lied to the FBI. That resulted in a search of his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel that found hundreds of classified documents.

“Then it was indicting him in four different locations.”
Once again, there was no plot by the left. It was Trump’s unlawful conduct and failure to cooperate that was the reason for his four indictments on 91 felony counts.

So Jordan’s response simply reminded everyone about all of Trump’s criminal activities, rather than providing the evidence against Biden that he was asked about. That’s not an especially smart way to advance his smear campaign. But in his defense, he was faced with a crippling dilemma wherein there isn’t any evidence against Biden, but mountains of it against Trump. So what else could he talk about?

Fox News Excuses Trump Quoting Hitler to Bash Immigrants Because Melania is an Immigrant

Watching Donald Trump sink ever deeper into the abyss of totalitarianism is a painfully difficult thing for Americans who cherish the principles of democracy and liberty upon which this nation was founded. But as his legal perils mount, Trump is losing whatever threads of morality and decency that he might have pretended to be hanging onto.

Donald Trump

At his recent cult rally in New Hampshire, Trump elevated his authoritarian aspirations with language derived straight from the playbook of Adolf Hitler. Referring to immigrants and refugees seeking shelter in the United States, Trump complained that they were “poisoning the blood of our country.” Which is precisely how Hitler described the Jews in Germany that he yearned to exterminate.

Trump’s adoption of Hitler’s fear mongering was quickly condemned by Democrats and other decent Americans who recognized just how repugnant and dangerous that sort of hateful rhetoric is. But sadly, many Republicans defended Trump and attempted to dismiss his hate speech as harmless jargon that need not be taken seriously. That was also the position of the GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News.

SEE THIS: FOX NEWS IS APPALLED that Trump Quoting Hitler Might Get More Press than a Selfie Sex Video

Having had several days to reflect on Trump’s language, Fox News is still failing to appreciate the heinousness of Trump’s words. In a segment on their allegedly “news” driven program hosted by Bret Baier, they came up with a novel notion to excuse Trump’s Nazi inspired speech. Baier and fellow anchor David Asman engaged in the following exchange…

Asman: Some of things that Trump has been saying are quite difficult, even for his supporters. He said one the other night…

Trump Video: They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done. They poisoned mental institutions, and prisons all over the world. Not just in South America. Not just in three or four countries that we think about. But all over the world. They’re coming into our country from Africa, Asia, all over the world. They’re pouring into our country. Nobody’s even looking at them. They just come in. The crime is gonna be tremendous. The terrorism is gonna be — terrorism is going to be – and we built a tremendous piece of the wall and then we’re gonna build more.

Asman: Bret, nobody argues that it’s not a disaster. It is, and of course it’s being reflected in cities all over the country. But to use that phrase, “poisoning our blood,” that really got under the skin of a lot of people. Even his supporters. Is there any sign that anybody in his campaign is gonna try to answer that?

Baier: Not really. Listen, it’s the word he chose. I think it raised a lot of eyebrows, not only on the democratic side but in Republican circles. Obviously it hearkens back to some writings. And it’s been written about in numerous articles.

But it’s also important to point out the former president is married to an immigrant who just did a naturalization ceremony at the National Archives to welcome immigrants into the country. So there’s a disconnect there if that’s the dog whistle he’s sending. Some people are saying it is, but other people are saying it’s just the words he chose. Republicans even know – are uncomfortable with that phrasing.

Asman: Sometimes he does like to tweak people too. You wonder whether there was something of that in the whole thing. Meanwhile Biden’s poll numbers are just awful.

There’s a lot of bullcrap to unpack in that. Let’s begin where Asman began, with his contention that Trump’s remarks were difficult “even for his supporters.” It is pitifully obvious that Trump’s glassy-eyed disciples are not particularly bothered by Trump’s language. In fact. many of them are specifically drawn to him because of it.

Then Baier responds to Asman’s question noting, correctly at first, that no one in Trump’s campaign is likely to answer the criticism of his remarks. But Baier couldn’t even bring himself to describe Trump’s source as Hitler. He referred only vaguely to words that “hearkens back to some writings.”

However, Baier then thought he came up with the perfect apologia for Trump. He couldn’t possibly be calling for the elimination of immigrants in America because his wife is an immigrant. In fact, he married two foreigners, providing them and their anchor babies with citizenship. But that doesn’t indicate any affinity for the immigrant population in America. It just indicates the hypocrisy of Trump who is capable of condemning the vast majority of mostly immigrants of color, while separating his White European wives from the hordes of those that he and his followers hate.

Baier seems to notice that there is a “disconnect” there, and that Trump is blowing on his racist dog whistle. But Baier fails to notice that he is the one responding to the whistling with a ludicrous defense for Trump’s fascistic vulgarity. And it’s predictable that Asman closes the segment by trivializing Trump’s offensiveness because “he does like to tweak people,” and then diverting to an attack on President Biden’s polling.

At no point in the segment did wither Asman or Baier condemn Trump’s adoption of Hitler’s words or criticize his tyrannical leanings. So it’s fair to conclude that Fox News is comfortable with all of that. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that we can expect them to continue to advance Trump and his hate speech for the foreseeable future.
