HUH? Fox News Accuses Democrats of ‘Demonizing’ Trump’s ‘Crazy,’ ‘Deplorable,’ MAGA Extremists

The Trump-fluffers of Fox News seem to be determined to continuously prove that they are the masters of hypocrisy with the self-awareness of a dormant bacterium. However, they need not be worried about losing their status as world-class clodpoles, given the blockhead start they have over any potential challengers.

Donald Trump Baby Fox News

The editorial manglers at Fox News must get together every morning to map out the day’s outrages and distort fragments of alternative facts into exploitable pseudo-scandals. And judging by how poorly they do it, it must be a profoundly difficult task. But they take it up with the same measure of gusto, and flaming dishonesty, that their beneficiaries at the Republican Party do…

SEE THIS: The GOP’s Pathetic ‘Research’ Unit Posts Endless, Bogus Clips of Biden Supposedly ‘Confused’

Recently the hair-on-fire Fox News fabulists have been expressing their unbridled outrage at what they characterize as hyperbolic criticism of Donald Trump and his MAGA cult followers. They seem to believe that Democrats have gone overboard with the reckless use of offensive adjectives. Apparently they have never heard a single thing that Trump has ever said. And that sheltered and purposeful ignorance has led to commentaries such as the following…

Fox News host Harris Faulkner: “I’ve gotta talk to you about that word ‘crazies.’ It reminded me of ‘deplorables.’ And if Democrats are again willing to go down this road, because the Vice-President didn’t say anything when Joy Behar screamed out, ‘How are you gonna stop the crazies,” it’s Hillary Clinton’s deplorables all over again.”

First of all, Faulkner is complaining about something said by Joy Behar, a co-host of “The View” She is paid to express opinions, and is not affiliated with the Democratic Party. More to the point, Faulkner is holding Vice-President Kamala Harris accountable for Behar’s views, and comparing it to something that Hillary Clinton said eight years ago. Proving that Fox News is, once again, totally plugged into what matters most to voters today.

For the record, Clinton’s reference to “deplorables” was limited to just a subset of Republicans who were overtly hateful and bigoted. So the comparison made by Faulkner is not really far off. Behar was also referring to the same subset of GOP crackpots who believe Trump’s “Big Lie” that he won the “rigged and stolen” 2020 election, and that President Biden is a usurper and/or an imposter.

Fox News Senior Political Anal-Cyst, Jesse Watters, also weighed in to blast Democrats for “demonizing” the glassy-eyed disciples of Trump…

Fox News host Jesse Watters: “This country cannot have an election where one side is demonized, and you don’t say how I’ve improved your life. And Joe Biden, he kind of has to demonize because if you look at the metrics he has not improved anyone’s life.”

In the real world, if you look at the metrics, Bidenomics is working astonishingly well. The economy is booming. The stock market is soaring. Inflation is declining, GDP is increasing, Consumer sentiment is higher. Biden has presided over the creation of more jobs than any other modern presidency. Billions of dollars of student debt has been forgiven. Billions of dollars of tax revenue has been recovered from wealthy tax cheats and corporations.

Furthermore, Biden has steered unprecedented funding to infrastructure projects and climate change mitigation. And he continues to fight for family values such as the right to make their own health choices, and to be safe from massacres perpetrated with assault weapons. All of this is concrete evidence of how he has improved the lives of the American people.

Nevertheless, Watters is very upset about politicians demonizing their opponents. But his anger seems more appropriately aimed at Donald Trump, who rages daily about the “communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.”

To anyone who has been paying attention, it is Trump, Republicans, and Fox News who have been engaging in vilification and demonization. And they direct their assaults, not just at extremists, but at anyone and everyone who has the temerity to merely disagree with them or Dear Leader Trump. Their allusions to demons is literal, as they regard Trump as having been chosen by god to lead them to glory.

Absent Trump’s leadership, America is, according to Trump himself, “going to HELL!” He even used his Christmas greeting to attack Democrats as “evil and ‘sick’” “THUGS” who “are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL.” And Fox News defended that seasonal grotesquery…

Look for more of this malicious hatred to be unleashed by the MAGA crowd as election day draws nearer. It’s really all they have left, since their pitiful attempts to govern have failed so dramatically, and they have abandoned any effort to draft policies that will appeal to the American people. And, true to form, as they flail in desperation they will accuse Democrats of the repulsive behavior that they themselves engage in. It’s what they do.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is ‘Dreaming’ of Having Evidence of Corruption Against President Biden

The Republican Party spent most of 2023 weaving whacko fantasies of felonious wrongdoing by President Biden. And the new year finds them spinning ever more of the same delusional tales of corruption and self-dealing that, if true, would have made Biden a multi-billionaire by now. That, of course, isn’t the case. But far be it for the GOP to succumb to rationality or facts.

Click here to Tweet this article

Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon

The Republican’s “Biden Compulsive Disorder” that is causing them to cling so fiercely to their quixotic, criminal contortions, has consumed the GOP political agenda. Which is why they have nothing to run on in this election year, other than promises of partisan retribution, terminating Obamacare, book bans, and relentless fear mongering about scary immigrants and a looming economic collapse.

SEE THIS: Trump’s Fear Mongering Lies About ‘Streets Drenched in Blood’ Reach New Depths of Depravity

Fulfilling its role as the GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News invited Marjorie Taylor Greene on to discuss the phony issue of Biden’s alleged criming. She told Maria Bartiromo that Republicans on the House Oversight Committee have “serious evidence” of a “complete unbelievable amount of corruption” that “the Democrats don’t want to admit.” She elaborated saying that…

“You know, they pitch fits and temper tantrums and claim we don’t have evidence. But the reason why they’re doing that is because they’re looking at the same evidence that we have with Jamie Raskin and other Democrats on the committee. They know what we are in possession of. They could only dream of having this kind of evidence against president Trump and his family. And they were never able to produce it because all of their attacks were lies.”

That’s quite an admission on Greene’s part. To be clear, she is affirming that the reason Democrats say that Republicans have no evidence is that they have seen what Republicans have. “They know what we are in possession of,” says Greene. Which, apparently, is nothing. So Greene is, in effect, validating what the Democrats are saying.

The fact that Republicans have utterly failed in their efforts to smear Biden was established long ago. Oversight Committee chair, James Comer has repeatedly made a fool of himself in hearings wherein his own witnesses testified that Biden had done nothing wrong.

SEE ALSO: YES OR NO? GOP Biden Basher Can’t Answer Hannity’s Question About Bogus Bribery Allegations

Meanwhile, there is abundant proof of the criminality of Donald Trump. Democrats don’t have to “dream” at all. Trump is currently facing 91 felony charges that are backed up by documents and testimony, primarily from Republicans. And these charges were not brought by Democrats, but by citizens serving on Grand Juries.

For good measure, during the same interview, Greene provided an example of her alleged evidence against Biden. Referencing telephone calls that Biden was on with his son, Hunter (about which a Republican witness testified under oath that no business was ever discussed), Greene demonstrated that she is not only a pathological liar, but now she is claiming that Joe Biden is conversing with the dead over the phone. And she thinks Democrats are dreaming?

Thoughts and Prayers: MyPillow Guy Mike Lindell Announces that He’s Been Cancelled By Fox News

The new year isn’t starting off very well for Donald Trump and his “lesions” of followers and media sycophants. He remains in legal peril with 91 felony charges pending. Plus, he has a couple of civil cases that are close to conclusions that will likely cost him hundreds of millions of dollars.

Donald Trump, Mike Lindell, MyPillow

As the trial dates approach, Trump’s mental state is becoming ever more desperate and detached from reality. He is frantically lashing out at everyone from President Biden, to Democrats in Congress, to Republicans in Congress, to judges and prosecutors and reporters. Meanwhile, Biden is continuing to focus on policies that are actually advancing the interests of the American people.

SEE THIS: On Fox News Jessica Tarlov Summarizes the Success of Bidenomics that the Media Refuses to Cover

One of Trump’s most devoted cult disciples is Mike Lindell, the MyPillow huckster who has pretty much destroyed his business and reputation by spreading Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen” from him. And on Friday morning Lindell posted a video with a sob story about his latest misfortune/conspiracy. He whined that he had “disturbing news” that “Fox News just cancelled MyPillow.” He said that he didn’t know why, but then ventured to make some guesses…

“Maybe it was because Lou Dobbs was added over here on Lindell TV to this all new lineup we have. That was just a few days ago. We showed his first interview with our great real president, Donald Trump. Or maybe it was because they don’t want my face even on their network leading up to the 2024 election in support of our great real president, Donald Trump. I don’t know, I don’t have the details yet. All I know is the commercials have been cancelled. Anything with MyPillow or Mike Lindell cancelled on Fox News.

America is surely in mourning today upon hearing about this tragedy. What will they do without Lindell’s uplifting ads peddling his atrocious bag of rocks?

As for Lindell’s speculation as to reasons for this alleged cancellation, the notion that Fox News cares about what Lou Dobbs is doing since they fired him for lying repeatedly on the air, is preposterous. Especially if all he is doing is fluffing Trump on a TV “network” that nobody knows exists, much less watches.

What’s more, Fox News couldn’t possibly regard Lindell’s adoration of Trump as motivation to reject his advertising. After all, Fox News is also in the Trump adoration business. If anything, they would welcome Lindell’s advocacy of Trump.

Virtually everyone on the network is already promoting Trump’s 2024 candidacy. They just aired a Trump town hall that was nothing more than a televised campaign rally. And they even complied with Trump’s demand to air it on the same date and time as CNN’s GOP debate, in order to depress CNN’s ratings (which didn’t work).

SEE ALSO: Fox News Affirms its Role as Ministry of Propaganda for Donald Trump and the MAGA Cult

The one plausible reason that Lindell proposed for Fox cancelling him was that “they don’t want my face even on their network.” And who could blame Fox if that were the case? Lindell closed by begging his viewers to “support us during this time of cancelation.” So, like his Dear Leader Trump, Lindell is turning this into an opportunity to fleece the flock.

It must be noted that there isn’t any actual evidence that what Lindell is alleging is true. Fox News has not made any comments about refusing Lindell’s ads. And if they did, it might be due to Lindell inserting political content into them. Who knows? The one thing we know for certain is that we can’t trust anything Lindell says, any more than we can trust anything Trump says. They are both confirmed liars and con artists.

UPDATE: As expected, there is a good reason for Fox News rejecting MyPillow ads. According to Mediaite, “Lindell still hasn’t paid for any MyPillow ads aired on the network since August 2023. […] A Fox News spokesperson told Mediaite: ‘As soon as their account is paid, we would be happy to accept their advertising.'”

Fox News Anchor Wants Hunter Biden Arrested For Not Showing Up to the Hearing He Showed Up For

The 2024 election cycle may go down in history as the first Reality TV version of American democracy. That is due in no small part to the emergence of Donald Trump, the former Reality TV game show host who, by a fluke of the fatally flawed Electoral College, stumbled into the White House and has since refused to accept that he was emphatically evicted.

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

The melodramas that have ensued in the aftermath of Trump’s MAGA movement are strikingly similar to the corny contrivances that were featured on many of the television farces that pretended to be “real.” And the most preposterous plots have been played out by Republicans in Congress who are so incompetent that they think that their flagrant fictionalizations of governing might actually pass for the real thing.

FOR INSTANCE: Jim Jordan Tells Fox News that His Best Evidence Against Biden is a Witness Who Exonerated Him

In the latest episode of “The Real Louse Hives of Congress,” Republicans are seen staging a bitterly partisan hearing aimed at smearing President Biden and his family. House Oversight Committee Chairman, James Comer, presided over the panel as it considered whether to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena.

For the record, Hunter did accept the Committee’s original request to appear for questioning in a public session. But then Comer reneged and insisted that a deposition be given behind closed doors. The only plausible reason for that change was so the GOP could spread lies about what occurred in the media before any transcripts were available.

SEE THIS: GOP and Fox News Oppose Public Testimony By Hunter Biden Because Then They Can’t Lie About It

However, a funny thing happened on the way to the GOP’s circus. Hunter Biden sauntered into the hearing room and took a seat behind the witness table. His appearance created quite a stir among the Republican members, who weren’t particularly happy to see the target of their smear campaign confidently confront them as they conspired to slap a phony contempt charge on him.

Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz, challenged the nervous GOP members to take advantage of this opportunity and invite Hunter to take their questions right on the spot. They declined. Moskowitz also entered into the congressional record the subpoenas of several Republicans (Scott Perry, Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, & Kevin McCarthy) who all failed to comply with lawful subpoenas, but whom the GOP was not seeking to hold in contempt.

Naturally, The Republican’s Ministry of Disinformation, aka Fox News, stepped up to bolster the false narrative that Hunter was noncompliant. Fox News host, Harris Faulkner, interviewed a former assistant district attorney, Phil Holloway, and led with her suggestion that Hunter should be immediately placed under arrest. She did not get the response that she was likely hoping for.

Faulkner: Can they go arrest him at this point? As one of the congress-people called for, I believe it was Nancy Mace today?
Holloway: Yeah. I don’t know of any mechanism to do that. There’s no rush for…
Faulkner: For bucking the subpoena. They can’t go get him?
Holloway: Yeah. I mean, you gotta have, see the committee, it’s not like a court where if he shows – if you don’t show up for court, the judge can issue a warrant for failure to appear and send law enforcement to bring you in in handcuffs. Whether they have such a process, I don’t know, but, I think they’ve got to go through the subpoena process and excuse me, the the contempt process first.

Faulkner’s hunger for Hunter to be arrested was ludicrous. For one thing, he had not even been held in contempt at that point. Plus, why would they have to “go get him” when he was sitting right there, ready to be questioned?

The on-screen graphics that Fox News displayed were also notable. One said “Hunter Fled Contempt Hearing Amid GOP Questioning.” Of course, the news was that Hunter came at all. He stayed awhile to make his point, then calmly departed. The other chyron read “Hunter Crashes His Own Hearing in Shocking Stunt.” Which is especially ironic considering that the entire Republican hearing is what was actually the “shocking stunt.”

In the end, Republicans proved once again that they are hypocrites and cowards. They have no interest in having an honest inquiry. They are only interested in causing harm to their political foes. They have even admitted it publicly.

Trump’s Lawyer on Fox News Accuses Jack Smith of Contempt of Court – For Doing His Job

This week a federal appeals court will hear arguments relating to Donald Trump’s claim of “presidential immunity” from some the 91 felony charges he is currently facing. It’s a peculiar legal strategy wherein Trump, unlike rational defendants, is choosing to refrain from assertions that he is innocent, in favor of a convincing the court that he is entitled to break any laws that he wants.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Wah

To assist him in this profoundly eccentric defense, Trump has assembled a crack team of attorneys, featuring former parking lot lawyer, Alina Habba. While she has little to no experience in constitutional or criminal law, she does meet Trump’s highest priority for representation: She looks good on TV. Unfortunately for Trump, that doesn’t help him to prevail in any matter of law.

SEE THIS: WTF? Trump Attorney Says He Should Be Free to Defame, Wrongfully Jail, and Incite Insurrections

On Sunday Habba joined Fox News Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, for a morning mass and adoration of Dear Leader. The services began with Ava Maria offering Habba an opportunity to probe Trump’s latest assault on special counsel Jack Smith.

Bartiromo: First I want to ask you about special counsel Jack Smith. What is President Trump’s reasoning for wanting him to be held in contempt?
Habba: Because he is in contempt. He has clearly ignored the Court’s stay of the decision, the decision is completely disregarded. Just like anything, the radical left are pushing their own agenda.”

So to summarize, the reason Trump wants Smith to be held in contempt is “because he is in contempt.” Which is the same sort of legal genius that holds that a murderer is guilty because he’s guilty. Habba elaborates on her argument by raising the specter of the invisible but ever present “radical left [who] are pushing their own agenda.” Which, of course, has nothing to do with the matters before this court. She then proceeds to explain the details of the case to Bartiromo and the Fox News cult.

“What happened is there was a stay in the proceeding. That means that all actions, all activities on that case must stop until the issue of presidential immunity is addressed. That means that the president would have immunity during the time, as he was sitting president. The same immunity Biden and Obama and everybody else does.”

Habba’s analysis of the law leaves out a couple of critical factors: “Analysis” and “law.” Her assertion that a stay “means that all actions, all activities on that case must stop.” is ludicrous. A stay does not prohibit attorneys on either side from continuing to work independently on their case. Only the court proceedings are paused. If the prosecutor chooses to keep working, but the defense decides to take a break, that is entirely up to them.

Habba is also mistaken with her opinion on “presidential immunity” when she claims that a stay “means that the president would have immunity during the time.” No it doesn’t. The question of immunity, which is the very principle that resulted in the stay, has not been adjudicated and, therefore, Trump cannot be presumed to have it. Particularly the way he defines it that is so preposterously broad that it would indemnify a president from any crime, including murder. Does he really want to set that legal precedent while Joe Biden is still in the White House?

Special Counsel Smith responded to Trump’s contempt charge saying that “the Government intends to comply with its continuing discovery obligations” so that the pretrial schedule can be resumed after the stay is resolved.

Habba also whined that Jack Smith “has continuously filed motions to inundate our team.” That complaint was specifically addressed by Smith in his response. After reiterating that the government has not violated the stay order, he says that…

“Nothing here requires any action by the defendant, and he fails to explain how the mere receipt of discovery materials that he is not obligated to review, or the early filing of Government pleadings to which he does not yet need to respond, possibly burdens him.”

While all of this was going on, Trump was busy posting rambling and incoherent comments on his failing social media scam, Truth Social. Such as his tediously repetitive claim that “The least I am entitled to is Presidential Immunity on Fake Biden Indictments!”

So if anyone is “pushing their own agenda” while the proceedings are stayed, it’s Trump. Likewise, if anyone is violating the court’s stay order, it’s Trump and Habba. At least by their own definitions. All they are really doing is revealing their fear, desperation and ignorance. This may play well among the MAGA minions, but it isn’t going to go very far in a court of law.

Jim Jordan Tells Fox News that His Best Evidence Against Biden is a Witness Who Exonerated Him

One week into the new year and it is clear that the Republican Party remains hell bent on continuing their desperate and baseless pursuit of pseudo-scandals with which to smear President Biden and his family. They still seem to be mired in the delusion that the American people are hungering for their representatives in Congress to be working on meritless impeachments, rather than legislative initiatives that might actually improve their lives.

Click here to Tweet this article

Jim Jordan

To that end, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Perv) visited with Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, for a little chitchat about his efforts as chair of the House Judiciary Committee to impeach Biden. Never mind that he’s been doing this for a year now, but has failed utterly to produce any evidence, or even a coherent argument, that would justify his shamelessly partisan waste of time and taxpayer money. Instead, he and his GOP confederates have set a modern day record for laziness in legislating.

SEE THIS: DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Most Productive Ever (LOL)

The segment began with Bartiromo constructing a convoluted question that was rife with preconception and presumptions of guilt. That led to the following exchange…

Bartiromo: Give us your sense of what the most the damning evidence is that you have so far on Joe Biden regarding bribery potential, money laundering. These are the terms that you and your colleagues have been using. Where is the evidence, and do you believe you’re going to find more from these depositions by the end of January?
Jordan: I do, to the last question. I think the most damning evidence thus far is what we got from Devon Archer.

That’s an astonishing admission on Jordan’s part. Because when Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, testified before Congress, he completely contradicted everything that the Republican shills have alleged for years.

Archer testified, under oath, that Biden never discussed any business dealings or interests with Hunter Biden or anyone else. He said that he knew nothing about alleged bribes paid to the Biden family. He refuted charges that Biden sought to oust a Ukrainian prosecutor in order to benefit his son.

In short, the witness that Jordan claims provided his best evidence against Biden, actually exonerates him of every charge that the Republicans have used to slander the President. And when Jordan’s accomplice in this political character assassination, James Comer, chair of the Oversight Committee, was asked on Fox News if would be able to prove his allegations against Biden, he replied “I sure hope so.” Which is a long ways from “Yes.”

SEE ALSO: YES OR NO? GOP Biden Basher Can’t Answer Hannity’s Question About Bogus Bribery Allegations

In addition to the humiliating performance of Jordan above, he also discussed with Bartiromo the matter of Hunter Biden’s alleged failure to comply with a congressional subpoena. The truth is that Hunter did try to comply with the original request to testify in a public hearing. But when Republicans later reneged and insisted that he be deposed in a closed session, Hunter reiterated his agreement to testify publicly.

That dispute led to Republicans declaring their intention to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress. Which is hypocrisy on a grand scale considering that Jordan himself failed to comply with a subpoena from the House January 6th Committee.

Jordan’s blatant act of contempt has now gone on for more than year and a half. Yet Jordan still has the gall to complain about the Hunter subpoena on Fox News, who lies about it. Which just goes to prove that the best words to describe Fox News and the Republican party are “lies,” “hypocrisy” and “contempt.”

Fox News Had Their Fee-Fees Hurt Because President Biden Told the Truth About Them

On the eve of the third anniversary of the January 6th insurrection incited by Donald Trump, President Biden delivered a speech that recalled the horrific and deadly storming of the United States Capitol by traitors intent on exalting Dear Leader and obstructing the peaceful transfer of power that has been emblematic of America’s two and half centuries of democracy.

Click here to Tweet this article

Dark Biden, Fox News

Biden’s speech (watch in full here, or read transcript here) was both a warning of the fragility of our nation’s freedoms, and a tribute to its resilience. The overarching message of the speech was one of hope and inspiration to persevere on behalf of the principles endowed to us by our founders. It was a far cry from the rancid anger, bitterness, and vengeful self-adoration of Trump’s remembrances of the day.

SEE THIS: Trump’s Uber-MAGA 2024 Campaign Message Reeks of the 3rd Reich Rhetoric of the ‘Final Battle’

Naturally, the reaction from Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox News, was a perverse distortion of reality. Immediately following the address, Fox’s alleged “news” anchor, Martha MacCallum, offered her decidedly biased opinion of the speech and of Biden himself. Which we’ll get to shortly. But first it is important to note that MacCallum couldn’t get through her commentary without defending Fox News from a brief mention that Biden made about the network (video below). She complained that…

“He took a couple potshots at this network, which more people in America watch than any other network in the country. So I don’t know if they feel like that represents someone who is president to all of America. So in those sections not a terribly unifying or reaching out speech here.”

First of all, Fox News is not watched by more people in America than any other network. All three broadcast networks have more viewers than Fox. And the only reason that Fox News tops the list of cable news networks is because it is has an effective monopoly on the conservative audience, while all of the other networks divide the remaining viewers.

More to the point, MacCallum’s assertion that criticism of Fox News means that Biden isn’t “president to all of America” is preposterous. Fox’s approximately three million primetime viewers are less than 1% of the nation’s population. And no political leader should feel compelled to “unify” with a small television audience comprised of extremists who believe lies so flagrant that the network settled a defamation lawsuit for 3/4 of a billion dollars for deliberately lying.

SEE ALSO: The Fox News 3/4 Billion Dollar Dominion Defamation Settlement is Also a Judgment Against Trump

For the record, the “potshots” that Biden took at Fox News were accurate and well deserved. He noted correctly that “Fox News agreed to pay a record $787 million for the lies they told about voter fraud.” He further said that…

“When the attack on January 6th happened, there was no doubt about the truth. At the time, even Republican members of Congress and Fox News commentators publicly and privately condemned the attack. […] now these MAGA voices who know the truth about Trump on January 6th have abandoned the truth and abandoned democracy. They made their choice. Now the rest of us — Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans — we have to make our choice.”

Apparently Fox News regards the accurate reporting of what was actually said on the network as a “potshot.” And they are also dismayed by the factual observation that the network flip-flopped on their original analysis of the violent insurrection.

As for MacCallum’s views about the Biden speech, she was singularly focused on what she believed was Biden’s failure to unify with MAGA Republicans. As if adopting the opinions of crackpots who think he is a senile communist is an obligation that he must comply with, lest he be deemed divisive. She said that…

“He talked about how he would be President to all Americans. Which is certainly what he said when he ran, and certainly what he said in the inaugural. But based on the polling we see it’s not how a lot of Americans feel. He went a few times after what he called MAGA Americans, scowling at that entire group of people who make up – I don’t know if MAGA Americans take up half the country, but you’ve got a lot of people who don’t support this President in that.”

Based on her remarks, you have to wonder if MacCallum actually watched Biden’s speech. His references to MAGA were brief and always aimed at extremists, not ordinary Republicans, to the extent that any still exist. Here are the four actual references that Biden made to MAGA in the speech…

  • “Outside, gallows were erected as the MAGA crowd chanted, ‘Hang Mike Pence.'”
  • “In desperation and weakness, Trump and his MAGA followers went after election officials who…were doing their jobs as elected workers until Donald Trump and his MAGA followers targeted and threatened them.”
  • “Trump and his MAGA supporters not only embrace political violence, but they laugh about it. At his rally, he jokes about an intruder, whipped up by the Big Trump Lie, taking a hammer to Paul Pelosi’s skull and echoing the very same words used on January 6th: ‘Where’s Nancy?'”
  • “I promise you, I will not let Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans force us to walk away now.”

Are those MAGAs really the sort of people that MacCallum thinks Biden should reach out to and unify with? She obviously missed the part of his speech where he inclusively implored that “Now the rest of us — Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans — we have to make our choice.” Of course, it isn’t her objective, or that of Fox News, to honestly report on anything Biden does or says. But after all this time you might think that they would be better at it than this.

WTF? Trump Attorney Says He Should Be Free to Defame, Wrongfully Jail, and Incite Insurrections

The legal tribulations of Donald Trump have driven him to the farthest reaches of sanity. He has been fiercely defending himself with arguments that assert, not that he is innocent, but that he is entitled to commit any crimes he wants with impunity. it’s what Trump claims is “presidential immunity,” which he believes indemnifies him from everything from jaywalking to hurling his critics off the roof of Trump Tower.

Click here to Tweet this article

Trump Fear

In addition to having what he thinks is a universal Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card, Trump also asserts that any criticism of him is “election interference.” That includes any discussion of all of the documented evidence of his multitude of crimes. So when anyone mentions that he has been found liable for sexual assault and defamation, or that he is currently facing 91 felony charges for crimes ranging from financial fraud to undermining democracy, they are guilty of interfering with his divine right to be re-elected.

SEE THIS: Trump Lawyer Complains that Just Factually Reporting His Legal Problems is Election Interference

To underscore these wholly deviant legal analyses, Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, visited with Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Sean Hannity, Thursday night. During their chitchat Habba uttered several eye-rollers that were especially troubling for an alleged lawyer. Topping the list was her theory on the boundless authority of presidents in America.

“What I argue is not for President Trump, it’s for all presidents. It’s for the executive branch. We have to have them be able to govern this country in a way without the fear of someone saying you defamed me, you put me in jail for the wrong reason, you were an insurrectionist, when you were actually just asking for election integrity. Actually asking for us to take a close examination to preserve American constitutional democracy.

“That’s what president Trump has done. And presidential immunity is very important. It’s never been questioned because nobody’s ever been prosecuted like Donald Trump.”

Really? Habba’s observation that “nobody’s ever been prosecuted like Donald Trump” is not the exculpatory revelation that she thinks it is. To the contrary, she is reminding everyone that Trump is a historically unprecedented, recidivist, and unrepentant lawbreaker. That said, let’s take a closer look at Habba’s legal theorizing.

When Habba says that presidents should be able to govern without fear of defaming others, she is asserting that they should be allowed to deliberately lie without having to worry about any consequences for it.

When Habba says that presidents should be free from worrying about unjustly incarcerating people, she is arguing for the right of presidents to lock up their opponents on bogus charges.

When Habba says that presidents must not be burdened with concerns about engaging in insurrections, she is indemnifying them from committing treason.

First of all, would Habba really be comfortable with President Biden having these “freedoms”? But more to the point, fear of consequences for defamation, wrongful jailing, overthrowing the government, and other assaults on democracy, are not the legal hamstringing of a political leader. They are proper and healthy constraints on behavior that is anti-constitutional and anti-American.

However, in Habba’s mind – and in Trump’s – that fear is an imposition on what they regard as their immaculate mandate to reign as tyrants. It interferes with their yearning to rule unencumbered by law or the will of the people.

Habba further demonstrated her disrespect for the Constitution when she told Hannity that the 14th Amendment is just “some obscure section of some statute.” She also sent a subtle, mob-style threat to Trump’s Supreme Court appointees that they had better fall in line, saying that “people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, [will] step up.”

The one thing that we can be assured of with Habba is that the more she talks, the more likely it is that Trump will be convicted. Which is a trait she shares with Trump himself. So therefore Ms. Habba, please proceed.

Fox News Affirms its Role as Ministry of Propaganda for Donald Trump and the MAGA Cult

2023 will be remembered for many things. Not the least of which is that it is the year that Donald Trump became the first former United States president to be indicted for crimes against America. Those indictments – 91 felony counts – include charges of violating the Espionage Act, financial fraud, inciting a violent insurrection to undermine democracy, and even sexual harassment and rape.

Donald Trump Fox News

However, the despicable treachery of Trump must not obscure the memory of another historical milestone that occurred the same year. Fox News agreed to an unprecedented settlement of a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for 3/4 of billion dollars. The suit documented how Fox News aided and abetted Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from Trump.

SEE THIS: The Fox News 3/4 Billion Dollar Dominion Defamation Settlement is Also a Judgment Against Trump

Following the settlement, Fox News seemed to distance themselves a bit from Trump. That’s what happens when internal communications reveal that they frequently disparaged him and admitted privately that they didn’t buy into his lies. Even Sean Hannity, when was asked by Dominion’s lawyer about Trump’s unfounded claims, replied that “I did not believe it for one second.” Although “one second” was about as long as that distancing lasted.

Fox News recently announced that they are holding a town hall in Iowa featuring Trump on Wednesday, January 10. That’s just five days before Iowa’s Republican primary caucus. There is no indication that any other candidate is getting that sort of promotion prior to the GOP’s first primary vote. It’s a valuable gift they’re giving only to Trump. [Update 1/7/2024: Fox has announced town halls for DeSantis and Haley on January 8th and 9th respectively, but Trump’s is the only one in primetime]

What’s more, that town hall has been scheduled at exactly the same time as the previously announced Republican debate between Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley on CNN. So Fox News is deliberately counterprogramming the CNN debate with Trump’s opponents that Trump refused to participate in. And it would not be surprising if it turned out that Trump demanded that time slot and Fox News obediently complied. [Update 1/9/2023: In an interview with The Deseret News, Bret Baier confirmed that “It was the Trump campaign’s demand. They would only do it if it was at that time.” And Fox News, were they ethical, could have declined, but agreed to Trump’s self-serving terms.]

The criteria that CNN stipulated for participation in the debate pretty much guaranteed that only DeSantis and Haley would qualify. And CNN is also airing a debate prior to the New Hampshire primary with similar criteria that could result in only Haley and Chris Christie qualifying. It will be interesting to see what Fox News and Trump cook up to deflect from that event.

The Trump town hall on Fox News is likely to be a dull affair. The moderators, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, are not known for their aggressive journalism when it comes to Trump or the GOP. And Trump probably would not have agreed to it without favorable pre-conditions. The fact that he’s doing it all is peculiar, considering his recent expressions of love/hate for Fox News…

Apparently Fox’s efforts to placate Trump are paying off. For instance, they downplayed his flagrant forays into fascism. They also defended him from charges he violated the Constitution’s 14th Amendment by engaging in an insurrection.

With Fox News shelling out precious primetime air, while contesting the time period with CNN’s debate, it’s clear that the network and Trump have reconciled for the time being. It’s also clear that their reuniting will further damage the public’s ability to be adequately informed. But then that was never the mission of either Fox News or Donald Trump.

UPDATE: The audience for the Trump town hall on Fox News was 4.3 million, just slightly more than their regular programming. The audience for CNN’s debate was 2.6 million, more than 5 times their usual draw. So CNN actually benefited far more from the special programs than Fox did, despite Fox’s attempt to hamper CNN and Trump’s Republican challengers.

Fox News Complains that Maine Disqualifying Trump is Invalid Because – the Constitution is Old?

This week the state of Maine joined Colorado in finding that the Constitution’s 14th Amendment prohibits Donald Trump from running for president. Section Three of the Amendment states that “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion.”

Fox News, Constitution

The language of the Amendment is clear and justifies declaring Trump ineligible to have his name on state primary ballots due to his documented participation in the insurrection in Washington, D.C., on January 6th, 2021. While the courts will continue to debate this matter, there is no question that Trump incited and supported the insurrection and the insurrectionists. He has said so himself, repeatedly.

Naturally, the MAGA Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox News, is providing aid and comfort to Trump as he pursues his anti-American mission to install himself as America’s first dictator. In Friday morning’s episode of “Outnumbered,” guest co-host Cheryl Casone, a Fox Business anchor, shoveled a fresh heap of manure unto the pile with her denunciation of Maine’s Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows. It was Bellows who made the decision to nix Trump in compliance with the duties of her office and the Constitution. But Casone was appalled that Bellows used the pronoun “I” in her statement…

“I think it’s arrogant and it’s her. If you look at the statement that she put out, that she filed this motion and she’s defending her position, she says [emphasizing “I”] ‘I conclude that Mr. Trump used a false narrative of election fraud. I likewise conclude that Mr. Trump was aware of the likelihood for violence and at least initially supported its use.’ I mean, this is all about her. She’s out of her league, out of her lane.”

Apparently Casone couldn’t come up with a coherent legal argument to rebut Bellows, so she criticized her use of pronouns. Which is ironic considering how fervently Fox News and the MAGA cult have opposed what they regard as the “woke” culture that focuses too much on pronoun use. Bellows is the state official responsible for making this decision and she said so. Did Casone think that she should have said “they” or “it” made the decision? But Casone was just getting her criticism warmed up. She continued saying that…

“It’s definitely going to the Supreme Court. They’re going to strike this down. There’s no way they can’t legally. And by the way, that amendment that she’s citing in this – you mentioned how ludicrous it is – 1868 guys. This is when this was put in the Constitution.”

Setting aside Casone’s worthless predictions of what the Supreme Court may or may not do, her dismissal of the 14th Amendment is absurd in the extreme. She thinks that because it was ratified in 1868 that its legality has waned with age. Wait until she hears when the core Constitution was ratified. Does she also think that the Bill Rights is a passé list of technicalities that no longer have any legal relevance?

For the record, Bellows’ decision was a cogent interpretation of constitutional law. Her conclusions are in line with those of constitutional experts who span the spectrum of political ideologies, including the liberal Harvard Law professor emeritus, Lawrence Tribe, and the conservative former federal judge J. Michael Luttig, who co-authored a compelling article on the subject entitled, The Constitution Prohibits Trump From Ever Being President Again.” Bellows concluded that…

“…the record establishes that Mr. Trump, over the course of several months and culminating on January 6, 2021, used a false narrative of election fraud to inflame his supporters and direct them to the Capitol to prevent certification of the 2020 election and the peaceful transfer of power. [and] was aware of the likelihood for violence and at least initially supported its use given he both encouraged it with incendiary rhetoric and took no timely action to stop it.” […]

“I do not reach this conclusion lightly. Democracy is sacred… I am mindful that no Secretary of State has ever deprived a presidential candidate of ballot access based on Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment. I am also mindful, however, that no presidential candidate has ever before engaged in insurrection.”

Trump’s legal and political problems are weighing heavily on him and his defenders in the Republican Party and on Fox News. The GOP had an opportunity to rid itself of Trump – twice – by simply removing him from office after one of his impeachments. They almost did the second time when a majority of senators (57), including seven Republicans, voted to oust Trump, but short of the two-thirds needed. If Republicans were smart (and they aren’t) they’d take this opportunity now to finally ditch Trump by supporting his removal from the ballot. But they won’t. Because IT’S A CULT!
