Fox News Can’t Seem to Find Joe Biden – They Must Be Watching Fox News

Another day – another opportunity for Fox News to pretend that President Joe Biden doesn’t exist. For six weeks now Fox News has avoided virtually every public event held by Biden and his administration. They have not aired a single one of his COVID Response Team’s press conferences. Nor have they covered a single one his press secretary’s daily briefings.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump Baby, Fake News

What’s more, Fox News failed to cover the congressional hearings on the January 6th Capitol riots where Donald Trump’s Insurrectionist Brigades staged a deadly assault on democracy. Fox ignored the testimony of FBI Director Christopher Wray, as well as that of the police and security forces that Trump’s flunkies prevented from responding.

By contrast, Fox would carry live airings of Trump burping after slurping down a Diet Coke. Every time Trump showed his face, Fox would dutifully scamper to the scene to broadcast his blatant propaganda and his flagrant and unchallenged lies. Which makes it all the more appalling that Fox’s Sean Hannity would host the network’s newest disinformer, former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, to pose the burning question: Where’s Joe?

“My question is ‘Where’s Joe?’ It’s been 41 days. At this point President Trump had multiple press appearances. press conferences. President Obama did as well. Joe Biden needs to step up. We need to hear from him. He needs to engage in the transparency he promised us. He hasn’t thus far.”

Perhaps the reason that McEnany and Hannity can’t find Biden is that they’ve been looking for him on Fox News. The truth is that Biden has been making numerous public appearances throughout the first few weeks of his term. The subjects he addressed include:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
  • Passing the COVID relief and stimulus plan
  • Racial Equity
  • Containing the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Reversing the 2018 transgender military ban
  • Boosting american manufacturing
  • Climate Change
  • Strengthening Obamacare
  • Immigration reform
  • Jobs and infrastructure
  • Helping small businesses
  • Commemorating 500,000 American lives lost to COVID-19

This isn’t the first time that Hannity has admitted his dreadfully poor journalistic skills failed him. A couple of weeks ago he whined that he couldn’t find Biden during the massive winter storm that devastated Texas. Never mind that Biden was paying close attention and issued emergency declarations to jump start the federal response. It was Texas Sen. Ted Cruz who went missing, as he jetted off to sunnier climes in Cancun, Mexico. But then it was Hannity who complained about “Biden’s Disastrous First Week” after only one day in office.

In place of reporting on the current President of the United States and what he’s doing on behalf of the American people, Fox News has been obsessed with bizarre allusions to what they call “cancel culture.” Lately this has featured tediously repeated segments alleging that Dr. Seuss books have been “canceled” in what they claim is fascism. Fox is blaming this atrocity on Democrats, despite the fact that it was the estate of Dr. Seuss that independently chose to cease publication of a few books that they deemed to be racially insensitive. And of course, let’s not forget that it was Fox who was “canceling” Dr. Seuss not long ago:

Finally, the most prolific “canceler” has to be Donald Trump, who has canceled Fox News. He’s canceled American companies. And he’s even canceled a flock of “disloyal” Republicans. He is a raging volcano of vengeance, determined to destroy anyone who isn’t completely faithful to the Cult of Trump. And while Fox is having trouble finding Biden, it’s actually Trump who has been hiding in his Mar-a-Lago bunker, afraid to poke his head out except for his adoring disciples at CPAC.

OBSESSION: Trump Attacked Pres Biden 48 Times in His CPAC Harangue

Traditionally, former presidents gracefully recede from the limelight of the presidency for at least several months as a new chief executive settles into the position. It’s period during which both the president and the people become accustomed to the change and set a course for the future.

Donald Trump, Joe Biden

But never let it be said that Donald Trump ever did anything traditional, graceful, or in the best interests of the people. His ego is far to bloated for that. So after taking the stage at the Conservative Political Action Cult (CPAC) on Sunday afternoon – more than an hour late – Trump proceeded to exalt himself in the familiar torrent of lies and whining that are typical of his public tirades. And true to form, this speech was a rambling outpouring of grievances and vainglorious victimhood.

Trump babbled incoherently for 90 minutes, whining about how he supposedly won the 2020 election. He was recklessly regurgitating the lies that resulted in the deadly Trump Insurrection on Capitol Hill, lies that were repeatedly debunked long ago. He ranted about immigration, his favorite vehicle of bigotry that so titillates his hateful followers. And he made the bizarre claim that no one ever said “I love you,” to any previous American president. President Obama has a ready response to that…

Trump’s CPAC sermon had one particularly conspicuous thread running through it. His obsession with President Joe Biden was evident throughout. He name-checked Biden forty-eight (48!) times. And each mention was another opportunity to lash out with wholly unsupported invectives and flagrant falsehoods. He led off with this ludicrous assessment of Biden’s term in office that has elapsed for all of one month:

“We all knew that the Biden administration was going to be bad, but none of us even imagined just how bad they would be. […] Joe Biden has had the most disastrous first month of any president in modern history.”

And Trump’s disparaging discourse was all downhill from there. Interestingly, he didn’t reserve his hostility for Biden and the Democrats. While castigating “the fake news media and their toxic cancel culture,” Trump embarked on a cavalcade of the coarsest political and cultural cancelation:

“We cannot have leaders who show more passion for condemning their fellow Americans than they have ever shown for standing up to Democrats, the media and the radicals who want to turn America into a socialist country. Instead of attacking me and more importantly, the voters of our movement, top establishment Republicans in Washington should be spending your energy and opposing Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats.” […]

“The Democrats don’t have grand-standers like Mitt Romney, little Ben Sasse, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Pat Toomey; and in the House, Tom Rice, South Carolina, Adam Kinzinger, Dan Newhouse, Anthony Gonzalez. That’s another beauty. Fred Upton, Jamie Herrera Butler, Peter Meyer, John Katko, David Valadeo. And of course the warmonger, a person that loves seeing our troops fighting, Liz Cheney.”

Did he leave anyone out? Oh yeah. There were “The RINOs that we’re surrounded with [who] will destroy the Republican Party and the American worker and will destroy our country itself.” This isn’t the first time that Trump has gone after these GOP traitors.

Fox News hasn’t been spared the whip either. Even though Fox News was the only major news network that offered a live airing of Trump’s CPAC-of-lies.

For the record, despite Fox’s obedient carriage of everything Trump does and says, to date Fox News has not aired a single White House press briefing, which the Biden team has returned to doing daily. Nor have they aired a single press conference by the White House COVID-19 Response Team.

The most startling thing about this stump screech is that anyone could listen to it again. After all, it is nearly identical to every blather-fest that Trump has presided over for the past four years. It’s only been updated to include the Big Lie about the “stolen” election. But his cult disciples seem totally unaware that they are being subjected to a robo-speech on an endless loop. Which is the best evidence that they have indeed been indoctrinated into a glassy-eyed cult of Trump worshipers. Where they go one, they go all.

President Who? Fox News and Mitch McConnell Still Don’t Acknowledge that Trump Lost

Last November Joe Biden decisively won the presidential. He drew over eight million more votes than the loser Donald Trump, and a sweeping electoral college victory of 306 to 232. But despite that conclusive result, Trump spent months spewing incendiary allegations of an allegedly “stolen” election. His tirades were unarguably responsible for the deadly riots that occurred at the Capitol on January 6th.

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Now, even after widespread condemnation of Trump and his insurrectionist brigades, even after Biden’s inauguration, Trump and his Republican cult disciples continue to pretend that Biden is an illegitimate president and that Trump is the rightful head of state. And naturally, Fox News is enabling that delusional hero worship. Sean Hannity, tucker Carlson, and other Fox hosts routinely refer to “President” Trump, while dismissively calling the actual president “Biden” or simply “Joe.” It’s a deliberate attempt to belittle President Biden, while feeding their audience’s fantasy that Trump remains on what they must believe is his throne.

Case in point: On Thursday Fox’s chief political “news” anchor, Bret Baier, interviewed the Senate’s Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, and engaged in this bizarre exchange:

McConnell: There’s no incumbent. And fun for you all to cover.
Baier: If the President was the Party’s nominee, would you support him?
McConnell: The nominee of the Party? Absolutely!

First of all, notice that McConnell, without challenge, said that in the 2024 presidential election there would be “no incumbent.” That would only be true if Biden chooses not to run for reelection. But there’s no way that McConnell know that now.

More to the point, notice that Baier’s question addresses whether McConnell would support “the President” if he were the Party’s nominee. Well, the President is Joe Biden. While etiquette would permit the use of “President Trump,” the meaning of “the President” is always the one currently in office. So was Baier asking if McConnell would support Biden if he decided to run as a Republican? Of course not. Baier was just casually – and dishonestly – referring to Trump as the current president. And McConnell didn’t blink in replying as if he thought the same thing.

This isn’t a trivial rhetorical glitch. They are both pretending that Trump is still president and that Biden is a villainous usurper. It is the same sort of purposeful deceit that produced the violence in D.C. by Trumpian loyalists seeking to restore him to his rightful place by any means necessary.

It should also be noted that McConnell’s expression of support for Trump were he the GOP nominee in 2024 is an astonishing admission that there are absolutely no consequences for the treasonous behavior of Trump. And that’s not just the opinion of disgruntled Democrats. After voting to acquit Trump in the Senate Impeachment hearing, McConnell actually admitted that Trump was guilty because “He did not do his job. He didn’t take steps so federal law could be faithfully executed and order restored.” McConnell elaborated saying that…

“There’s no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. and having that belief was a foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo of false statements, conspiracy theories and reckless hyperbole which the defeated president kept shouting into the largest megaphone on planet Earth.”

That’s the guy for whom McConnell just declared his support. And the support for Trump by McConnell, along with a frightful majority of Weak-minded, obedient, Trump-obsessed Republicans, almost ensures more of the hostilities that Trump incited. It forgives his transgressions and enables his most dangerous followers among the racist, seditionist, anti-democratic hordes who continue to articulate threats to civil society.

And that’s what’s wrong with today’s Republican Party. It’s a personality driven cult. It is totally devoid of principle or ethics. It is addicted to the lies and propaganda of Fox News. It is wholly devoted to the maintenance of power. And nothing – not the interests of the people, or the welfare of the nation, or sustaining the Constitution and democracy – nothing else matters to them.

Sean Hannity of Fox News Takes Lame Swing at Joe Biden, But Whacks Himself Instead

Poor Sean Hannity. Without Donald Trump as “president,” he has suffered severe shrinkage, so far as his media profile is concerned. He no longer gets bedtime phone calls from the White House. He no longer gets to pass along his goofball insights to cronies in the GOP administration. He is just another blowhard on an ultra-rightist cable “news” network begging for attention.

Donald Trump Sean Hannity

Case in point: On Tuesday night’s episode of the Hannity Harangue, the pitiful pundit demonstrated just how desperate he is. Before launching into a lie-riddled rant about immigration, Hannity delivered a thoroughly nauseating attack on President Biden’s mental health. His entire argument was based on a deliberately misrepresented press event where Biden read the current, exact number of COVID-19 deaths from a note card. From that perfectly reasonable prompting, Hannity alleged that “Joe seemingly can’t form a complete sentence between naps.” He elaborated saying that…

“Joe is now struggling to even form sentences and speak at times in what is a coherent way. Earlier he attempted to use a “cheat sheet” to deliver some extemporaneous remarks. It didn’t exactly go well. And the media like to attack me for saying he looks weak, frail, and he seems to be struggling cognitively.

“What’s on the not card Joe? Your name? Your address? Contact information. The name of your wife? What your address is? 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if you get lost? A reminder not to mention the corrupt family business? In all honesty, this is now getting scary. He is supposed to be our Commander0in-Chief.”

Setting aside Hannity’s infantile demeanor, in his own video clip we see Biden actually saying what is on the note card. It’s the current number of COVID-19 fatalities, a figure that requires notation because it’s constantly changing. But even after watching his own video where Biden says what’s on the card, Hannity still has no idea what’s on the card. And he’s questioning Biden’s cognitive abilities?

This has been a frequent problem with the conservative media. They have long tried to disparage Biden as being unfit to serve. The only problem with that is that, even after an extended campaign wherein Trump and the GOP pressed that issue, Biden still won decisively. So Trump lost to someone he said was a mentally deficient socialist. What does that say about Trump? Meanwhile, the America people never bought Trump’s insulting depiction of Biden. To the contrary, polls show that voters actually believe that it’s Trump who is more mentally deficient (and that’s a Fox News poll).

The good news is that Hannity and Fox News are so bereft of legitimate criticisms of Biden that they are reduced to trotting out this sort of nonsense. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is riding a high approval rating of 60% (Trump never even hit 50% in four years), and his agenda is equally, if not more, popular. For instance, Biden’s COVID-19 relief plan, the American Rescue Act, is supported by 76% of the people, including 60% of Republicans. Maybe this is what’s driving Hannity so crazy.

Fox News Trump-Fluffer Accuses Biden of Plotting the ‘Take Down of America’

Joe Biden has only been president for one month. In that short span of time he has accomplished much, including drafting a COVID relief bill (that Republicans oppose); undoing Donald Trump’s efforts to sabotage Obamacare; rejoining the Paris Climate Accords and the World Health Organization; introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill; all while battling on behalf of working people to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour.

Jeanine Pirro Fox News

Meanwhile, Fox News is working overtime to malign Biden’s achievements by inventing controversies that strain credulity. They are so bereft of legitimate criticisms that they are attacking the romance in Jill and Joe Biden’s marriage, and the grooming of their dogs. That’s a state of desperation that is truly transcendent.

Among the most prominent scandal mongers is Fox’s “Judge” Jeanine Pirro. On Saturday night she delivered an opening monologue that chastised Biden for an array of offenses that exist only in her perverted mind. She contrived nightmarish scenarios of “a daily caravan of 3,000 untested, unvaccinated illegals … being released into our towns, cities, and villages.” That’s a flagrant lie. Any immigrants granted entry into the U.S. have been tested affirmed negative. Pirro also whined that “Joe Biden says we won’t be in the clear on COVID until Christmas. And he wants us double mask. I don’t know about you, but I can’t breathe with one mask.” Her diatribe went on, saying that…

“It has been one month since Joe Biden has assumed the role of commander-in-chief. In that one month we have gone from President Trump’s policy of “America First” to Biden’s new policy, “America Last.”

Notice that Pirro places the prefix of “President” before Trump’s name, but not Biden’s. This is her way of perpetuating the Big Lie that Biden stole the election and that Trump is still president. Then she introduces what she thinks is the clever bastardization of Trump’s slogan “America First,” which he stole from early 1900’s American fascists. She continued…

“The end of an empire occurs when the leader of a country decides to make his country last. When he believes his country is not so great, And when his actions and policies make it clear he intends to make his country last. After a magnificent run of over 200 years with America the world’s number one superpower, we are left with a leader who believes in globalism, open borders, world equity in vaccines, even before all Americans are vaccinated.”

Pirro apparently doesn’t regard the storming of Congress by violent, anti-democratic hordes to be indicative of the end of an empire. But she does believe in rattling off a bunch of policies (globalism, open borders, etc.) that Biden has never supported. And she still isn’t through…

“We are watching in real time the take down of America, attributable to Joe Biden’s “America Last” policy.”

Once again, a forced invasion of the Capitol by murderous cretins proudly bearing flags representing the Confederacy and the Trump Cult is a far more literal “take down of America” than Biden’s agenda advancing the rights and welfare of working people.

Pirro utterly failed to make any case for her accusations. It was simply a spittle-inflected barrage of invectives and purposeful lies. And it was emblematic of what Fox News does every day to disparage the majority of the American people who value the progressive ideals embodied in the Constitution.

Last November the American people made it clear that they favor inclusion over prejudice, unity over division, and freedom over authoritarianism. And nothing that Pirro and Fox News says or does will change that.

OH NO: Hannity Can’t Find Joe Biden, Maybe Because Fox News Refuses to Cover Him

The stench of desperation at Fox News is thick enough to choke an elephant. Try as they might, they can’t seem to construct a plausible dystopian nightmare centered on the budding presidency of Joe Biden. It doesn’t help their cause that in Biden’s first month in office he’s already racked up an impressive array of achievements.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Fox News, Sean Hannity, Joe Biden

Among the first four weeks of work Biden has drafted a COVID relief bill (that Republicans are blocking). He’s restoring Obamacare to the state prior to Trump’s sabotage of it. He rejoined the Paris Climate Accords and the World Health Organization. He’s introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill. And he’s addressing income inequality with plans to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour.

No wonder the Debbie and Donnie Downers at Fox News are in a panic. They have nothing to rage about. Some of their recent misfires include blaming the Texas storm catastrophe on the Green New Deal, which has not been enacted into law; celebrating Donald Trump’s allegedly enduring popularity as represented by “spontaneous” rallies that were planned long in advance; and mocking the marriage of Jill and Joe Biden for being too romantic. Seriously, that’s all they’ve got.

One other tool in their propaganda workshop is to manipulate their editorial decisions to erase Joe Biden from the news cycle. To date Fox News has not aired a single White House press briefing, which the Biden team has returned to doing daily. Nor have they aired a single press conference by the White House COVID-19 Response Team. Recall that Fox News aired every similar meeting during the Trump administration, live and uninterrupted, along with his campaign rallies and staged photo-ops. The only coverage Biden is getting on Fox news are stories they can tarnish with negativity and lies.

Friday morning, Fox was the only national news network that failed to carry Biden’s first major foreign policy address before the Munich Security Conference (video below). He articulated the triumphant theme that “America is back.” It was a substantive discussion of critical national security issues including NATO, the coronavirus, China trade, Russian espionage, climate change, Iran nuclear pact, and the winter storm wreaking havoc on Texas and much of the eastern United States. But none of that was deemed newsworthy by Fox.

This banishment of all things Biden by Fox News is a deliberate attempt to disappear the new president. They have made an editorial decision to pretend that Biden doesn’t exist or is doing nothing. It’s the impression they intend to burn into the weak minds of their viewers. And at the forefront of this effort is Sean Hannity, who is himself pretending that he doesn’t know where Biden is:

“Where is our commander-in-chief? You know, that new guy? Oh, that’s right! This morning, he decided to take a snow day. The guy ultimately in charge of FEMA and all of the country’s emergency resources and federal agences (sic)? Yeah, he took a day off in the middle of this natural disaster. Where’s the feigned phony, selective liberal outrage on this? […] To be fair, it’s not even really totally clear that Joe even fully understands what’s going on in Texas.”

First of all, if Hannity can’t find Biden it’s just because he’s only watching Fox News where Biden has been cloaked in invisibility. It’s also interesting that Hannity is admitting that he can’t find any “phony liberal outrage.” But that’s because none of the liberal outrage is phony. It’s all entirely authentic and warranted. More to the point, and contrary to his infantile insult, it’s Hannity who doesn’t seem to understand what’s going on in Texas.

The basis for Hannity’s perversion of reality is a repot that the White House Communications Office “called a lid” on Thursday morning. Hannity, due to either dishonesty or ignorance, interpreted that as Biden taking the day off. But a “lid” isn’t a work holiday. It only means that there wouldn’t be any press avails for the rest of the day. Everyone, including the President, is still working. In fact, on the same day Hannity said was a “snow day” Biden phoned Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and he also approved emergency declarations in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

It’s ironic that Hannity would choose to take this time to take Biden to task for being AWOL on Texas. Sen. Ted Cruz (Q-TX) was just chastised for jetting off to Cancun while his constituents were back home freezing and dying. Humiliated, Cruz returned to Texas, but rather than getting to work on behalf of the people he purports to represent, he immediately rushed to do an interview on Fox News with – that’s right – Sean Hannity.

Hannity, not surprisingly, spent much of the segment excusing Cruz’s insensitive and tone-deaf Mexican vacation jaunt. He didn’t say a word about Cruz’s “snow day” or “taking the day off.” (Actually, it was four days). It was an Olympian exercise in hypocrisy that could win gold medals. And it’s more evidence that Hannity, and the rest of his confederates on Fox News, simply cannot be taken seriously.

Fox Family Values: Tucker Carlson Viciously Mocks Media and – Biden’s Marriage?

It goes without saying that there are a lot of repulsive cretins on Fox News. But even in that maggot infested bog there is no one who competes with Tucker Carlson as the undisputed King of Sleaze. His facility for falsehoods and pious prattle is unmatched by mere mortals.

Be sure to visit and follow News Corpse on Instagram.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

On the Tuesday night episode of Carlson’s White Power Hour he sought to malign the free press that he regards as “the enemy of the people,” just like his crush Donald Trump does. Carlson bellowed maniacally that “the people who run [America’s institutions] are rotten.” Not just some of them, but “all of which are corrupt.” And he singles out one institution as “looming above the rest [as] our most corrupt institution: The mainstream news media.” He elaborates that…

“The media are more crooked than Jimmy Hoffa ever was. They’re more dishonest than your average bribe-taking building inspector in Queens and more treacherous than the Mafia. They make cops in Tijuana look trustworthy. You’ll get fairer treatment from an inner-city DMV than you would from CNN.”

Let’s set aside for the moment Carlson’s asinine analogies comparing the media to murderous organized crime figures. More repugnant is how his sanctimonious verbal assaults rely entirely on offensive stereotypes and racist dog whistles? It’s integral to his hallmark brand of hate speech.

However, Carlson’s sour soliloquy does hit some sweet spots, albeit inadvertently. In a moment of unintended self-reflection, Carlson articulates the best description of himself saying that “Dumb and conventional now pass as impressive.” He continues seemingly still determined to define himself and his Fox News confederates:

“Yes, the news media are profoundly dishonest. All of us lie from time to time, that’s the human condition. Imagine, though, if lying was your job. Imagine forcing yourself to tell lies all day about every subject in ways that were so transparent and so outlandish that there is no way the people listening to you could possibly believe anything you said. Then imagine doing that again and again and again every day of your professional life for your entire life. Could you do that? […] you’ve got to respect those skills.

You don’t need to imagine any of this. Just watch five minutes of any Tucker Carlson program if you have the stomach for it. And remember that Fox News lawyers actually argued successfully in court that Carlson cannot not be held liable for the lies he tells because he “cannot be understood to have been stating facts,” and that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’ about the statements he makes.”

In other words, no reasonable viewer would believe Carlson’s BS. That’s according to the Fox News lawyers speaking on Carlson’s behalf. The problem is that Carlson doesn’t have any reasonable viewers. So the cult disciples he’s disinforming on a nightly basis will blindly buy into whatever he says. And among the nauseating absurdities he unleashed in the same episode was this sarcastic grotesquery:

“The Bidens affection is totally real and in no way part of a slick PR campaign devised by cynical consultants determined to hide the president’s senility by misdirection. Their love is as real as climate change.”

Technically, since climate change is undeniably real according to the vast majority of credible scientists, Carlson is actually affirming the authenticity of the Bidens heartwarming romance. Which is something that’s been conspicuously absent from the White House for four chilly years. Carlson’s smug dismissal of marital affection may be more than naked hostility. It may just be another sad and thinly veiled confession about the hollowness of his own pathetic life.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News Wants to Know ‘Why Are the Democrats So Angry?’

In January, the United States House of Representatives impeached Donald Trump – again. It is only the fourth time a president has ever been impeached, and the first time that a president was impeached twice. Furthermore, with ten Republicans voting in favor of Trump’s impeachment, it was the most bipartisan impeachment in history.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

Nevertheless, Fox News continues to distort reality with utterly ridiculous versions of Trump’s tribulations. And not surprisingly, Tucker Carlson is leading the way with flagrant lies and wholly manufactured inventions of what others are feeling. The Thursday night episode of his Fox News melodrama (video below) asked belligerently “Why are the Democrats so angry.” It’s a burning question in the minds of people who live in the same fantasy universe as Carlson. He ranted…

“Why are the Democrats so angry? We’ve asked that question a number of times. It doesn’t seem to make any sense. Truly. In November the Democratic Party won everything Full control of the federal government. They seethed for years while they were out of power. […]They are crazy person mad. Florid-faced, irrational, yelling and making threats. It is bizarre.

You really have to wonder which Democrats he’s referring to. If he’s been watching the Senate impeachment hearings he would have seen the House Democratic impeachment managers calmly delivering an effective and devastating case against Trump, based on facts and testimony that included Trump’s own words. There wasn’t a single incident of yelling or threats or anything approaching such alleged histrionics. Talk about bizarre. Carlson may just be projecting what he sees within himself. Carlson went on to malign Democrats for even bothering to impeach Trump:

“You would think they’d get to work fixing the country they inherited. They promised to do that. Instead, they set about breaking things and hurting people. What is going on here?”

First of all, it’s unusually candid of Carlson to concede that Joe Biden inherited a country that was desperately in need of repair. But his assertion that Democrats are “breaking things and hurting people” is curious, to put it mildly. Does anyone knw WTF he is talking about? Carlson also revealed that he is either in a coma, or resorting to his standard mode of communication, shameless lying.

Democrats have been working vigorously to fix the problems caused by Trump and the GOP. They have drafted a COVID relief bill (that Republicans are blocking). They are restoring Obamacare to the state prior to Trump’s sabotage of it. They have rejoined the Paris Climate Accords and World Health Organization. They have ramped up coronavirus testing and vaccinations.

And that’s not all. They are addressing income inequality with plans to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour. And Biden has addressed critical issues with Russia (cyber-espionage, election interference, bounties on American soldiers, Navalny poisoning) and China (virus origination, trade, Hong Kong independence, territorial waters) that Trump ignored and/or made worse. And Biden has only been President for three weeks. What more does Carlson want?

The tirade continued with Carlson complaining that Democrats were involved with Google’s YouTube taking down a pro-life account. Carlson accused Google of doing that because “Google supports abortion, like a lot of big corporations do. Children distract the labor force. If you’re raising your family, you are not serving shareholders.” Does that idiocy even need to be rebutted? For the record, Carlson is lying again. The real reason the account was closed was because it was “repeatedly sharing videos that spread misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccines against it.” That is a violation of YouTube’s stated terms of service.

Carlson also complained that “Twitter shut down James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas Twitter feed. There was no justifiable reason to do this.” Once again, Carlson is lying. The reason Twitter shut down O’Keefe’s account was because of its “repeated violations of the platform’s policies prohibiting sharing — or threats of sharing — other people’s private information without consent.”

Carlson was especially perturbed over what he views as the victimhood of Fox News, saying that…

“Fox is the last big organization in the American news media that differs in even the smallest ways from the other big news organizations. The only one. That’s it. Just us. At this point, there’s everyone else in the media standing in crisp formation, in their starched matching uniforms and their little caps, patiently awaiting orders from the billionaire class.”

Umm… It seems like it’s Carlson and his tribe that is goose-stepping in formation, wearing little red caps, and taking orders from billionaire Rupert Murdoch. There is nothing similar in the rest of the media that reports to a single source of ultra-partisan dogma. In fact, there’s a great deal of competition and diversity. That’s the reason that Fox News stands alone. They have cornered the radical right news market. And they are the only network that so brazenly dispenses with journalistic ethics and the principles of honest reporting. So naturally they are “different” in the most biased and dangerous way.

You Want Unity? Here’s Your Unity: 83% Favor Biden’s COVID Relief Plan

As the historical first of a second presidential impeachment proceeds, the most prominent argument by Donald Trump’s apologists is that the whole affair is divisive and that Democrats should “move on.” They plead for Democrats to embrace “unity” with Republicans, the party that has viciously maligned them for years and regards them as enemies. This call for unity by the losers who are supporting a criminal ex-president is, to say the least, convenient.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

The Republican pretense of harmony is as phony as Trump’s spray-on tan. What they regard as unifying is capitulation to their agenda which was decisively defeated last November. In the eyes of the Trumpists, if Democrats don’t give Republicans everything they want, they will be accused of hypocrisy for rejecting the bipartisanship that Biden has been advocating.

The problem with the GOP stance – aside from being blatantly disingenuous – is that unity is not achieved by caving in to unpopular demands by the losing party. It is far more productive to be unified with the American people. And a new poll by CBS News affirms that the people – both Democrats and Republicans – are indeed unified behind the policies of progressives.

The poll asked respondents “Would you approve or disapprove of Congress passing an additional economic relief package that would provide funds to people and businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak?” The response was an overwhelming 83% favoring passage of the COVID relief plan.

There are very few polls with majorities that unified. And it was a bipartisan unity. When asked about the amount of the bill currently being discussed, 79% overall said it was either “about right” or wanted it to be more. Even among Republicans, 61% say the amount of Biden’s plan is either “about right” (34%) or “not enough” (27%). What’s more, the poll found that Biden’s approval was a solid 61% majority. For the record, Trump never hit 50% at any time during his presidency or candidacy.

Just because Republicans in Congress are more united with QAnon than they are with the American people – and even their own constituents – doesn’t mean that Democrats aren’t supportive of unity. Clearly they are united with the citizens of all political persuasions who want Congress to pass the relief bill and deliver the help that is so badly needed. it’s the GOP who needs to reflect on why they are not unified with either Democrats or Republicans. But don’t expect them to have the integrity for that sort of honest reflection.

Read Smartmatic’s Gripping Introduction to Their 2.7 Billion Lawsuit Against Fox News

Following his decisive loss to Joe Biden last November, Donald Trump orchestrated a brazenly dishonest and dangerous campaign to stir the passions of his cult disciples. He sought to persuade them that the presidential election was stolen from him, that he won in a landslide, and that the rigged election was aided abetted by corrupt media and voting technology firms.

Fox News Sad

Of course, none of those allegations were supported by evidence or reality. Trump’s efforts to malign the press, Democrats, and even Republicans who declined to embrace his lies, grew more intense as he repeatedly lost cases in court after court challenging the election results. He turned a common electoral defeat into a humiliating spectacle. And in the process, his accomplices found themselves in legal peril of their own.

The voting technology company Smartmatic has now filed a lawsuit against the proponents of Trump’s election fraud fictions. They include Fox News, Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, Jeanine Pirro, and Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell. The introduction to the lawsuit reads like a captivating tale of political intrigue and depravity that rivals any great work of literature. So without further ado, here is that intro unabridged:

1. The Earth is round. Two plus two equals four. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 election for President and Vice President of the United States. The election was not stolen, rigged, or fixed. These are facts. They are demonstrable and irrefutable.

2. Defendants have always known these facts. They knew Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 U.S. election. They knew the election was not stolen. They knew the election was not rigged or fixed. They knew these truths just as they knew the Earth is round and two plus two equals four.

3. Defendants did not want Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to win the election. They wanted President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence to win re-election. Defendants were disappointed. But they also saw an opportunity to capitalize on President Trump’s popularity by inventing a story. Defendants decided to tell people that the election was stolen from President Trump and Vice President Pence.

4. Defendants had an obvious problem with their story. They needed a villain. They needed someone to blame. They needed someone whom they could get others to hate. A story of good versus evil, the type that would incite an angry mob, only works if the storyteller provides the audience with someone who personifies evil.

5. Without any true villain, Defendants invented one. Defendants decided to make Smartmatic the villain in their story. Smartmatic is an election technology and software company. It was incorporated in Delaware and its U.S. operations are headquartered in Florida. In the 2020 U.S. election, Smartmatic provided election technology and software in Los Angeles County. Nowhere else. Smartmatic had a relatively small, non-controversial role in the 2020 U.S. election.

6. Those facts would not do for Defendants. So, the Defendants invented new ones. In their story, Smartmatic was a Venezuelan company under the control of corrupt dictators from socialist countries. In their story, Smartmatic’s election technology and software were used in many of the states with close outcomes. And, in their story, Smartmatic was responsible for stealing the 2020 election by switching and altering votes to rig the election for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

7. Having invented their story, and created their villain, Defendants set about spreading the word. In November and December 2020, Fox News broadcasted thirteen (13) reports stating and implying that Smartmatic had stolen the 2020 U.S. election. They repeated the story in articles and social media postings. Night after night, publication after publication, Fox News reached out to its millions of viewers and readers around the world with a story: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris did not win the 2020 election; Smartmatic stole the election for them.

8. Defendants’ story evolved over time as they claimed evidence had come to their attention supporting the story. The story came to consist of eight themes:

  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software were widely used in the
    2020 U.S. election, including in six states with close outcomes;
  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software were used by Dominion
    Voting Systems Corporation (“Dominion”) during the 2020 U.S. election;
  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software were used to steal the 2020
    U.S. election by rigging and fixing the vote;
  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software sent votes to foreign
    countries for tabulation and manipulation during the 2020 U.S. election;
  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software were compromised and
    hacked during the 2020 U.S. election;
  • Smartmatic was previously banned from being used in U.S. elections;
  • Smartmatic is a Venezuelan company that was founded and funded by
corrupt dictators from socialist and communist countries; and,
  • Smartmatic’s election technology and software were designed to rig and fix
    elections.

9. Defendants’ story was a lie. All of it. And they knew it. But, it was a story that sold. Millions of individuals who saw and read Defendants’ reports believed them to be true. Smartmatic and its officers began to receive hate mail and death threats. Smartmatic’s clients and potential clients began to panic. The company’s reputation for providing transparent, auditable, and secure election technology and software was irreparably harmed. Overnight, Smartmatic went from an under-the-radar election technology and software company with a track record of success to the villain in Defendants’ disinformation campaign.

10. Smartmatic’s loss was Defendants’ gain. Fox News used the story to preserve its grip on viewers and readers and curry favors with the outgoing administration – one of their anchors was even able to get a pardon for her ex-husband. Ms. Powell used the story to raise money and enrich herself. Mr. Giuliani used the story to guarantee himself a flow of funds from the sitting President and to sell products. Defendants knew the story could not change the outcome of the election. It could, and did, make them money.

11. The story, of course, did more than just make Defendants’ money and jeopardize Smartmatic’s survival. The story undermined people’s belief in democracy. The story turned neighbor against neighbor. The story led a mob to attack the U.S. Capitol. Defendants started a fire for selfish and financial reasons and they cared not the damage their story caused to Smartmatic, its officers and employees, and the country.

That just about says it all. Fox News and the other defendants should be worried. The facts of the case are pretty airtight. And other defendants could be added as the litigation proceeds. Perhaps even Trump himself. Although he may also be busy untangling himself from his second impeachment trial where Democrats are asking that he testify under oath. And for Trump, that’s perjury waiting to happen.

UPDATE 1/20/2022: MyPillow guy, Mike Lindell is now also being sued by Smartmatic for defamation.
