Trump Dementia? Says He’s ‘Very Happy’ with the Latest Mueller Filings, But Blames Hillary Clinton

This week saw what may the most significant developments to date stemming from the investigation of Donald Trump by special counsel Robert Mueller. In filings related to sentencing for Trump confidants Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen, Mueller and the New York Attorney’s office disclosed unambiguous evidence that Trump engaged in criminal activities connected to both his campaign finances and his collusion with Russia.

Donald Trump

Nevertheless, Trump emerged from the White House to greet reporters on Saturday morning with what he presented as good news. Included in this gaggle was his announcement that Chief of Staff John Kelly will be leaving that post by the end of this year. That news comes after reports that the two are not even talking to each other. It also follows Trump’s previous insistence that Kelly would be around until 2020.

However, the real meat of this press avail was Trump’s assertion that he’s “very happy” with Mueller’s filings. That is either another one of his blatant lies designed to gaslight his cult followers, or he is suffering from delusions that are the product of his acute fear and desperation. He told the reporters (video below):

“On the Mueller situation, we’re very happy with what we are reading because there was no collusion whatsoever. There never has been. The last thing I wanted is help from Russia on a campaign.”

Of course the “Mueller situation” doesn’t clear Trump of any crimes or collusion. Quite the opposite. Cohen explicitly testified that Trump was involved in and directed the criminal acts that he pleaded guilty to. And the Russian connection that Trump has been lying about for two years is clearly outlined in the filings. The redacted parts are likely to provide even more detail of Trump’s culpability. So it isn’t surprising that he then shifts to assigning blame to his favorite scapegoat, Hillary Clinton:

“You should ask Hillary Clinton about Russia, because she financed the fake dossier which I understand they tried to get some information and help from Russia. But you ought to ask them about that. A very one-sided situation, but i think it’s all turning around very nicely. But as far as the report that we see – according to everybody I’ve spoken to, I have not read it – there’s absolutely no collusion, which is very important.”

There is so much wrong in that brief comment. Clinton didn’t finance the dossier. And she didn’t try to get help from Russia. The dossier was originally contracted by a conservative website. The Clinton campaign later supported that research, which never sought assistance from Russia. In fact, the author, Christopher Steele, got most of his information from dissident Russians who were working against the Kremlin, not for it.

It should also not be overlooked that Trump began by stating that he was “very happy with what we are reading,” but finished with “I have not read it.” This is, sadly, all too typical of Trump’s failing mental capabilities, and his ever-increasing fear, paranoia, and desperation due to Mueller’s investigation getting closer to him and his crime family every day. It’s the sort of delusional psychosis that results in him tweeting that the Cohen/Manafort filings:

You’re welcome. And if you like these legal proceedings, just wait until Mueller comes out with his final report that ties you directly to treasonous collusion with Russian and brazen financial corruption. Although when you see that you’ll probably tweet “Thanks for the Nobel Prize and for canonizing me as Saint Donald.” It must be really nice in that world of rainbows and unicorns and worshipful cult disciples that you live in.

Hillary Clinton Slamdunks Fox News as ‘a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Trump and the GOP’

It’s been two years since the election of the first Dotard President of the United States. See, children? In America anyone – ANYONE – can grow up to be president. Even if you’re an ignorant, narcissistic, rage-aholic, wannabe dictator whose only experience is bankrupting casinos and hosting unreality TV shows. It’s the land of opportunity.

Fox News, Hillary Clinton

Over the past two years Donald Trump and his State TV benefactors at Fox News have been unable cure themselves of their obsession over his 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton. They continuously wallow in misremebrances of the campaign and the fabricated “crimes” they imagine she concocted. Part of the reason for the durability of this obsession is the fact that Clinton actually “won” the election by more than three million votes. But mainly they are just too stupid to come up with something more relevant to discuss, and they are too immersed in Hillary fetishism to let go of a subject they think is advancing their incoherent agenda.

Clinton has been a mixed bag since the campaign. but it hardly matters because she isn’t a major factor in politics going forward. She has ruled out running for office again, so her opinions are just those of a former statesperson with considerable experience who is exercising her rights like any other citizen. And in that role Clinton was interviewed by The Guardian and she unleashed some of her views about Trump and Fox News. Here are some of the highlights:

“The Republican party has collapsed in the face of Trump.”

“I believe that where we are now in the political cycle is that the press does not know how to cover these candidates who are setting themselves on fire every day, who are masters of diversion and distraction.”

[Trump] is someone who craves dominance over any situation he finds himself in. He craves adulation, flattery, all of which fit the profile of leaders we can remember from the past.

“Now [Trump] doesn’t attack Fox News, because they’re like a wholly owned subsidiary of Trump and the Republican party now. So he attacks the press and the broadcast media that raise questions about him, that don’t give him fidelity and loyalty.”

“You watch Fox News, it’s always, ‘Something terrible is about to happen’, ‘Something terrible did happen’, ‘These people are doing all these awful things’. It is totally divorced from reality, but it is superb propaganda. I don’t know the best way to puncture that. You have to hope that reality catches up with politics and entertainment at some point.”

These are not necessarily revelations. Many people have noted the psychological aberrations of Trump and the sycophantic nature of his coverage by Fox News. But it isn’t often that these views are openly expressed by former First Ladies, Secretaries of State, or Senators. and that makes them welcome and constructive. After all, with Fox’s Hillary fetish, you can be sure that they will notice these remarks. Already Fox News host Mark Levin was so rattled that he tweeted what has now been immortalized as Dumb Question #4,782:

Levin is delusional. While Clinton’s criticisms are sharp, at no time time does she say anything that can be remotely regarded as a threat. As opposed to Trump who calls the media “the enemy of the people,” revokes their White House passes, issues decrees mandating their behavior, incites violence by the cult followers at his rallies, and advocates new laws to make it easier to sue them. Trump even castigated the press as enemies just hours after some of them had received mail bombs.

This is typical of the way that Fox News tries to muddy the waters of political discourse. They deliberately misrepresent facts and purposefully distort reality. Consequently, we need all the help we can get to enlighten the nation as to the nefarious intentions of Trump and Fox News. So even a flawed former public servant like Clinton is doing a significant service by providing an honest characterization of the anti-American agitprop of the Trump administration and their media comrades.

Semper WTFi? Trump Tells Fox News that He Only Supports the Military if They Bow Down to Him

This has been a busy Sunday for Donald Trump. When he wasn’t posting flagrant propaganda videos of himself disrespecting California fire victims, he was excitedly planted in front of his television so that he could fire off rapid responses to the insolence directed at him by those pesky Democrats and wayward Republicans. So naturally he lashed out the imaginary “caravan” of criminal invaders marching toward the U.S. border. He posted an infantile tweet that referred to Rep. Adam Schiff and Adam “Schitt.” And he promoted his latest appearance on State TV (aka Fox News) with Chris Wallace.

Bill McRaven, Donald Trump

There was a lot of blathering idiocy throughout the interview, and it can be viewed in conveniently sectioned off pieces here. But one area of particular interest was when Wallace sought Trump’s reaction to remarks made by retired Admiral William McRaven. Trump twice interrupted Wallace as he tried to ask the question regarding McRaven saying that Trump’s attacks on the press are “the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime.” Eventually Wallace got the question out and it resulted in this disturbing exchange (video below):

Wallace: Bill McRaven. Retired admiral. Thirty-seven years. Former head of Special Operations…
Trump: Hillary Clinton fan.
Wallace: Special operations…
Trump: Excuse me. Hillary Clinton fan.
Wallace: …who led the operations, commanded the operations that took down Saddam Hussein and that killed Osama bin Laden, says that your sentiment is the greatest threat to democracy in his lifetime.
Trump: Okay. He’s a Hillary Clinton backer and an Obama backer. And frankly, wouldn’t it have been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that?

Holy Shiitake Mushrooms. Trump actually has the gall to disparage a Navy Seal with more than three decades of service to his country, and whose leadership helped bring down two of America’s most virulent foes. And Trump’s reason for slamming McRaven was that he allegedly supported a couple of Democrats (aka Americans). What’s more, Trump’s insult went off the deep end by belittling McRaven’s accomplishments because they hadn’t happened sooner. For the record, George W. Bush had eight years to deal with bin Laden. Under Obama, bin Laden was dead in two years. And that was while Obama was also dealing with Bush’s Great Recession. Trump, on the other hand, evaded military service entirely via five questionable deferments. He has no moral standing to criticize McRaven, Obama, Clinton, or anyone else.

It’s also worth noting that Trump is lying again. McRaven was not a supporter of Clinton or Obama. He never endorsed either and he served presidents of both parties. However, he was on the Trump transition team’s short list for a top national security post. Which makes his slander all the more repulsive.

This ought to be a wake up call for every member of the military, every veteran, and every American who supports them, that Trump has zero respect for their service or commitment to duty. Unless, that is, they are also slavishly adoring of him personally. Anyone who demonstrates independent thought or otherwise veers from total devotion to Trump is discarded and treated like traitors no matter how impressive or patriotic their past. Trump will turn on you if you fail to worship him sufficiently. And that’s not patriotism, it’s malignant narcissism with tyrannical tendencies.

Tweetstorm MMXVIII: A Total Witch Hunt Like No Other, Starring Donald ‘The cRock’ Trump

As the holiday season approaches, the entertainment industry begins to trot out their best bets for Oscar worthy attention. They are a mix of big budget extravaganzas and smaller offerings that feature heart tugging stories and star-making performances. So naturally the nation’s top Reality TV mogul in Washington is rolling out his best work for your consideration.

Donald Trump Zombie

Donald Trump just released the latest edition of his Tweetstorm series with a HUGE promotional push. This episode contains all of the thrilling adventure that has made this continuing MAGA saga so popular. And of course, it is steeped in the pompous and flamboyant fiction that has characterized the series from the start. So without further ado:

Trump leaps straight into the action with an attack by the evil genius, special counsel Robert Mueller, who in this outing has “gone absolutely nuts.” Somehow, without having any access to the inner workings of the special counsel’s team, Trump has figured out that they have no evidence of collusion (they do), and that they are “screaming and shouting at people.” Which must be horribly frightening to Cadet Bone Spurs.

Trump frantically reveals the alleged conflicts of Mueller and his Angry People Brigade, who worked for the criminal Kenyan that posed as “President” Obama for eight years. An intriguing plot twist – that Mueller is actually a life-long Republican who spent his career working mostly for GOP administrations – is left for a surprise ending. But the ever present threat of the “Witch Hunt” still looms over the Trump White House. And not just any Witch Hunt, but one that is worse than any other in history. Presumably that includes the the actual Salem witch hunts where an untold number of innocent women were murdered by devoted Christians.

Trump’s story line includes his complaint that Mueller wasn’t confirmed by the Senate. Never mind that no other similar investigator had such confirmation or was required to by law. In Trumpworld facts are just annoyances to be ignored or swatted away. The story also features perennial Tweetstorm villains like “Crooked” Hillary Clinton and the McCabe gang. These are the hideous “thugs” who have ravaged America throughout the Tweetstorm legend.

Finally, Trump reintroduces some old plot lines like the forbidden “DNC Server” and the “Facebook, Twitter, Google Cabal” that has conspired against Trump and his League of Nationalists. None of his protestations on these matters are remotely true, but that’s what makes it so exciting for his Deplorables.

Tweetstorm MMXVIII is an epic adventure in pure desperation as Trump seeks to recover from the devastating “Blue Wave” that engulfed him in last week’s midterm elections. He simply cannot face up to the fact that America rejected him and his abhorrent agenda of hate and division. So he’s flailing wildly in order to create a distraction and salve his tortured ego. And that’s what makes this the most entertaining release of the season. But also the most terrifying.

LIARS: Trump and Fox News Pretend to Be Against Political Violence and the MAGABomber

When an otherwise pleasant fall morning is interrupted by heinous acts of political terrorism, there is a tendence for public figures and the press to rush out statements of sympathy and determination to confront and eliminate such threats. That’s understandable and appropriate under the circumstances. But when certain people and organizations prior bad behavior is considered in the mix, it’s impossible to ignore the hypocrisy.

Fox News

That’s what we are facing with the statements released by Donald Trump and Fox News in response to the mail bombs sent to the Clintons, the Obamas, CNN, and others. We can expect fringe characters like Alex Jones to whine about “false Flag” operations (which he did – And Rush Limbaugh too). Let’s begin with the statement by Fox News that sought to empathize with the threat to CNN. Fox said that:

“We condemn all attempted acts of violence against media organizations and our thoughts are with CNN for the safety of all of their employees.”

Really? Why didn’t Fox News condemn the act of violence committed by Republican congressman Greg Gianforte, who body slammed a reporter for merely asking a question at a public event? And why didn’t Fox condemn Trump when he praised Gianforte and said that “Any guy who can do a body slam, he’s my guy”? If Fox News were sincere about their condemnation today, they would be more consistent in their expression of it.

What’s more, Fox wouldn’t tolerate their contributors making statements that dismiss the seriousness of these mail bombs. And they wouldn’t allow them to blame the victims. Like their FBI expert saying that “It could be someone who is trying to get the Democratic vote out and incur sympathy.” Or their contributor Candace Owens whose tweet (now deleted) said that:

“I’m going to go ahead and state that there is 0% chance that these ‘suspicious packages’ were sent out by conservatives. The only thing ‘suspicious’ about these packages, was their timing. Caravans, fake bomb threats – these leftists are going ALL OUT for midterms.”

As for the President, he spoke briefly at a White House affair (video below) where he said that “In these times we have to unify. We have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America.” Once again, this is the same person who heartily endorsed a candidate who pleaded guilty to assaulting a journalist. And that’s only the tip of Trump’s iceberg of incendiary hate speech.

If either Trump or Fox News really want people to believe they mean it when they condemn political violence, they will have to demonstrate that their opposition isn’t given only when it is politically convenient. Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen. It’s a pretty safe bet that Trump will resume his toxic dialogue at his next cult rally. And it’s similarly safe to presume that Fox will defend him after the fact.

That’s because they don’t really care about toning down their inflammatory rhetoric so long as they think there is a political advantage in it. That’s the core principle of their campaign strategy. And if they think it’s working two weeks before an election, they’ll keep using it. No matter how many more people might be put in danger as result of their recklessness.

Surprised? Donald Trump is 100% Responsible for the Bombs Sent to the Clintons, Obamas and CNN

The news on Wednesday morning is the sort of thing you might expect from a third world country or a war torn region like Afghanistan. Suspicious packages have now been found targeting George Soros, the Clintons, the Obamas and CNN. It’s a concerted attempt to sow fear in order to influence political behavior. That is the textbook definition of terrorism.

Trump Charlotsville

With this sustained and persistent attack there will be much analysis and speculation as to the perpetrators and their reasons. But there is one cause that is unmistakable to anyone who has been paying attention. Donald Trump has been the source of constant hate speech of the most extreme nature. He repeatedly maligns the media as “the enemy of the people.” And he characterizes his political opponents as not merely Americans with whom he disagrees, but as mortal foes who aim to “destroy” the country. He even did that today in a tweet attacking Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for governor of Georgia. But that’s just the latest example. Here are a few more:

Let that sink in. Trump is asserting that his “very dangerous & sick” enemies in the media and the Democratic Party are going to cause war. How hard is it is to project from that the sort of violence that we’re witnessing today? Trump casts Democrats as arsonists. He celebrates a GOP congressman who body slammed a reporter. He refuses to condemn the brutal murder of a Washington Post reporter by his Saudi Arabian pals. He idolizes murderous dictators like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un. And he has recently taken to calling Democrats a “mob” – nine times in just the past week.

What the hell does he expect? He is inflaming a glassy-eyed cult following that worships him and guns. He just proudly proclaimed that he is a “nationalist,” a term that he acknowledged he is “not supposed to use.” That’s because it is associate with racism and the blind loyalty demanded by Hitler’s regime. But Trump doesn’t care about any of that. Or more accurately, he deeply cares about putting forward the philosophies of the fascists and racists that he has been representing since he first occupied the White House. So anyone who didn’t anticipate these events – including his accomplices at Fox News – as the inevitable result of Trump’s purposefully bloodthirsty and bellicose bombast, are terminally naive and equally responsible.

UPDATE: Add to the list of targets John Brennan, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Eric Holder.

Trump Calls All Democratic Voters ‘Crazy’ Which After Whining About ‘Deplorables’ is Really Crazy

There has never been a more divisive president of the United States than Donald Trump. He wakes every morning with the intent to demonize his fellow Americans and dehumanize those with whom he disagrees. Trump embraces the tactics of his fascist heroes who perfected the use of projected hate to marginalize his opponents and unite a rage-filled base of cult followers. And he employs infantile insults, nicknames, and the coarse rhetoric of bullies to achieve his ends.

Donald Trump Crazy

If you criticize Trump you don’t just have political differences with him. In his diseased brain you are a destroyer of everything virtuous, and are in league with Satan to destroy him personally. This is evident in the acutely hyperbolic extremes he goes to when describing any person or event. It’s always the “worst ever in history” rather than merely a different point of view. And it was evident in Trump’s recent cult rally in Arizona where he typically went berserk over the presence of Democrats in the country that he thinks should only be occupied by his most zealous fanatics (video below):

“Anybody that votes for a Democrat now is crazy. When you look at what’s coming up, you gotta be crazy.

Note that Trump isn’t talking about just some Democrats that he believes might have gone over some ambiguous line. He explicitly maligned as mentally defective “anybody that votes for a Democrat.” That’s an awfully broad condemnation for someone who lost the popular vote to 65 million Democratic voters. He’s saying that more than half the nation is insane. And judging by the expectations for the upcoming midterm election, that number is going to increase significantly. What’s more, this was a planned attack as is obvious by the pre-produced signs in his crowd.

What’s interesting is that there has been so little push back on these comments. Especially considering the heat that Hillary Clinton took when she characterized only a portion of Trump’s supporters negatively. In her now famous remarks tagging some of Trump’s most fervent devotees as “Deplorables,” she said that:

“You could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. […] But that other basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they’re just desperate for change.”

She was actually being generous. The true percentage of Trump’s Deplorables is way more than half. But Clinton was sensitive to the fact that she was talking about fellow citizens and deliberately avoided painting them all with a broad, disdainful brush. That’s the sort of thoughtful consideration that Trump is incapable of. But he is fully capable of rank hypocrisy when it comes to slandering his foes and exalting himself. Take, for instance, his swipe at Clinton shortly after the Deplorable remarks:

So does Trump think that being a president for everyone means contemptuously disparaging more than half the country as crazy? Let’s face it, he never intended to be a uniting figure in the presidency. His entire campaign was built on hatred and bigotry. And he has carried that over into the White House. In his remarks immediately following the “crazy” talk he said that:

“The Democrats don’t care about what their extremist immigration agendas will do to your communities, your hospitals. How ’bout your hospitals are being overrun. Your schools. California, they wanna give you free education, free healthcare, open borders. I mean we’re gonna have ten million people move to California. This is the craziest thing. So here’s what we do. Let’s get these people out of there. There’s something wrong. They’re cuckoo.”

Oh my. Democrats are in favor of the American people having access to healthcare and education. Lock them up! Quick, before they become too healthy and smart to ever vote for a Republican again. But Trump wasn’t finished. He felt the need to make sure that his insults were directly aimed at the most vulnerable people, who he belittled in the racist manner to which he is accustomed:

“That’s why Democrats want to give illegal aliens free welfare, free health care and free education. Give them a driver’s license, next thing you know, they’ll want to buy them a car. Then they’ll say the car’s not good enough – how about a Rolls Royce. Democrats want to give illegal immigrants the right to vote.”

And Trump says that Democrats are crazy? This is all nonsense of the most ludicrous variety. None of what he’s saying is remotely true. It’s the blather of a reality TV reject who can only think in terms of childish smears. And Trump topped it all off by saying that “The Democrat Party has become too extreme and too dangerous to be trusted with power.” So Trump concludes his petulant tantrum by asserting the aspirations of a wannabe dictator who conserves all political power for himself. And the audience cheered. Talk about extreme and dangerous.

Fake Story on Clinton 2020 Campaign Tops Fox News, Russian Election Indictments Buried

There are plenty of important domestic and international events unfolding in this mid-October news cycle. There is, of course, the midterm election which is less than three weeks away. There is the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the details of which are still being withheld. The economy and the environment and immigration and healthcare are all vying for space in the media.

Fox News, Hillary Clinton

So naturally Fox News has nailed the most significant story that impacts the lives of every American and elevated it to the top of their editorial agenda. Their headline bleats out that “Clinton aide won’t rule out ‘Hillary 2020,’ sparking glee from White House.” That’s right. Fox News managed to scoop the rest of the press with this earth shattering investigative report on the real world of politics in America today. And the profound importance of this journalist coup is revealed in the opening paragraphs:

“A longtime Hillary Clinton adviser is hinting that the former secretary of state may have one more presidential run brewing — a statement greeted with glee from the White House.

“‘It’s somewhere between highly unlikely and zero,’ Philippe Reines told Politico about the possibility that Clinton runs again in 2020, ‘but it’s not zero.'”

Kudos to Fox News for securing an on-the-record statement from a 2016 Clinton staffer who disclosed the shocking news that the chance of Hillary Clinton running for president in 2020 is “somewhere between highly unlikely and zero.” Ironically, those are exactly the same odds of me running for president in 2020. In other words – and in those of Hillary Clinton – she is NOT running. And this is what Fox News saw fit to put at the top of their Internet platform for Trump-fluffing and right-wing propaganda.

The stories immediately following that scoop were not much more newsworthy (see screen-grab here). There was one story about Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband that had already been reported nearly two decades ago. Another story was about Trump’s felonious campaign manger, Paul Manafort, arriving in court for sentencing in a wheelchair. That was followed by the breaking news about a CNN reporter who sent a nasty text. And then there was the news of some “mysterious” space debris that landed on a ranch. Stop The Presses!

After all of these vital pieces of information were unveiled, Fox News got around to reporting that a Russian national was just charged with interfering in the upcoming 2018 election. It’s fair to say that this is the only story out of all of these that has any relevance whatsoever. It shows that Russia has not stopped their election tampering, and will likely continue straight on through 2020. And why shouldn’t they when the Trump administration and the Republican controlled Congress have done absolutely nothing to punish them for their past interference or to deter them from doing it more in the future.

Fox News deserves equal blame for whatever damage is done to our democratic processes because of their purposeful dissemination disinformation like this. They deliberately play down Russia’s current criminal activities and worse, they cover them up with puff pieces that are irrelevant or bogus or both. It’s a disgraceful display of subservience to their political masters and it’s the reason that Fox News is so often referred to as State TV.

UPDATE: Now on the Fox News website their top story is “Migrants Defying Trump’s Warning” Like they are bound to obey him? And another story about a lame, right-wing street artist who put up a racist picture of Maxine Waters. Followed by a piece on Eric Trump on Fox News opining about the election. The Russian story is buried even deeper.

Sexual Predator Donald Trump Whines that ‘It’s a Very Scary Time for Young Men in America’

There are a lot things to be scared of in the Era of Trump. His presidency has been marked by disastrous decisions involving international conflict, climate change, economic meltdown, electoral espionage, and the ever present collusion with Russia and other foreign enemies. But Donald Trump isn’t worried about any of that.

Donald Trump

What is keeping Trump awake these days is the possibility that some man might be accused of sexual harassment or assault. And he should know, considering there are at least sixteen credible allegations pending against him. Never mind that the percentage of false charges is in the low single digits. Trump made a point of yammering to the press that:

Of course, no one is presuming the guilt of anyone. Trump’s tantrum was thrown because his nominee for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, now has three women asserting that he has engaged in sexual misconduct. And due to that it is men who ought to scared, not women. Those poor, beleaguered men of America. In fact, Trump is so upset by this that he was comfortable mocking Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a survivor of an alleged sexual assault by Kavanaugh, while his audience of Deplorables earned that nickname by cheering his mockery. Is this sort of presidential petulance supposed to make it easier for other victims to come forward?

Trump’s new found appreciation for due process should surprise people who have been paying attention for the past few years. Perhaps Trump will notify the Central Park Five that he now respects their civil rights. But don’t hold your breath. Trump has been crapping all over due process for years. Some recent examples of people that Trump has baselessly prejudged as guilty include (from his tweets):

The “man” who is now so distraught over ruining the lives of innocent people led an especially determined effort to convict Hillary Clinton despite the fact that she has been investigated for more than thirty years and never even been charged with an actual crime. But that didn’t stop Trump from attaching one of his infantile nicknames to her: Crooked Hillary.

However, if you are Republican, or Trump sycophant, any assertion of wrongdoing must only occur after conviction in a court of law. And even then only if you agree with the verdict. If you are Roy Moore or Rob Porter or Michael Flynn or Paul Manafort, you are pristine models of virtue no matter the strength of the evidence against you, or even if you confess and plead guilty.

The fact of the matter is that Trump is mostly afraid only for himself. And for good reason. Numerous women have come forward to accuse him of abhorrent, and perhaps illegal, behavior. He’s also being investigated for serious crimes against the country by special counsel Robert Mueller. The New York Attorney General is probing his corrupt foundation and other business entities. And most recently, Trump’s sleazy financial history has been exposed by a riveting story in the New York Times.

So when you hear Trump complain that so and so isn’t being afforded his due process rights under the Constitution, just replace whatever name he used with his own and you’ll have a better idea of what he’s ranting about. He’s never cared about anyone but himself, and he will use whoever is handy in order to get what he wants. And if that means maligning assault victims and honoring their tormentors, that’s just the Trumpian way.

A New Record? Liar-in-Chief, Donald Trump, Squeezes 10 Lies Into a Single Tweet

For someone who has made lying the hallmark of his public persona, Donald Trump is committed to advancing that character flaw to ever new heights. It’s not enough that he has won at least two Lie of the Year awards from PolitiFact, or that he surpassed 5,000 lies since his inauguration. He continues to climb to new summits in the pursuit of prevarication.

Donald Trump Robert Mueller

On Sunday morning, Trump apparently missed church so that he could repeatedly violate the Ninth Commandment: Thou shalt not lie. And he managed to commit this sin ten times in the space of a single tweet. It’s a feat that could compete with the holy spectacles of parting the Red Sea or getting elected president after bragging about grabbing women by their private parts. Here is the miraculous tweet:

Lie #1: It’s not illegal.
Let’s break this down in order. The first lie arrives quickly in the second word, “illegal.” The Mueller investigation is legal by any measure of consideration. It was authorized by Trump’s own attorney General, Jeff Sessions, and is headed by a special counsel, Robert Mueller, who was appointed by Sessions’ deputy, Rod Rosenstein. The entire probe is subject to the review of the Deputy Attorney General, who has approved everything that Mueller is doing.

Lie #2: It’s not a “Witch Hunt”:
This is one of Trump’s favorite ways to malign the investigation. But the absurdity of his attack is evidenced by the fact that so many “witches” have already been found. Mueller has produced dozens of indictments and secured seven guilty pleas/verdicts. And many of these felons are now cooperating with Mueller on broader matters that might include Trump’s collusion with Russia.

Lie #3: Mueller is not searching for a crime:
The special counsel is limited to only those areas of inquiry that are authorized by his bosses at the Justice Department. Everything he has been investigating has been explicitly approved and he has no authority to go beyond those limits without getting additional approvals. His only mandate is to investigate alleged crimes and document what he finds. If there were no crimes committed, he won’t find any.

Lie #4: There was collusion:
No matter how many times Trump whines that there was no collusion, he cannot erase reality. His son and his campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, admit that they met with Russian operatives to get dirt on Hillary Clinton. What’s more, numerous people in Trump’s circle (Mike Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Jeff Sessions, Carter Page, etc.) have met with Russians and lied about about until the evidence made that impossible.

Lie #5: The collusion was not by Hillary Clinton:
There is absolutely zero evidence that Clinton or her campaign had any dealings with Russia. What Trump likes to assert is that the infamous Steele dossier is somehow proof of Clinton’s collusion. But that research was done independently by Christopher Steele, who got information from Russian dissidents, not Kremlin operatives. And Clinton never directed any of that investigation.

Lie #6: There aren’t 17 angry Democrats:
As a technical matter, there are 65 million angry Democrats. But more to the point, Trump is accusing Mueller’s team of being partisan and biased against him. But these are career Justice Department professionals who have shown no bias whatsoever in the conduct of their duties. And the head of the team, Mueller, is a life-long Republican who could overrule any finding that he determined was improperly influenced by personal opinions. Mueller proved his impartiality by removing former FBI official, Peter Strzok, after only two weeks due to the appearance of bias (although none was actually found).

Lie #7: They are not Looking for “anything”:
This is similar to lie #3 where Trump asserts that the investigation is just fishing for anything to hang on him. But once again, Mueller’s authority is strictly overseen by his superiors at the Justice Department. He cannot simply wander off on his own to hook the President.

Lie #8: It’s not unfair:
This is just Trump whining (and he did say that he is the “most fabulous whiner”. This is only unfair to the same degree that any criminal regards his prosecution as unfair. They would obviously prefer not to be under investigation at all. But Mueller’s probe is following all the rules set forth by applicable laws, and if Trump doesn’t like it he’s just behaving the way any other guilty person would. If he were innocent he would expect that the result would exonerate him and welcome the investigation as as an opportunity to clear his name.

Lie #9: It’s not bad for the country:
Let’s face it. This is only bad for Trump. What’s bad for the country is that Trump engaged in such shady and illegal activities that we all have to go through this nightmare. It’s no one’s fault but Trump’s. And he doesn’t get to decide whether his being brought to justice is bad for the country. His conviction will result in his having to pay the price for his crimes. And it will hopefully serve as a deterrent to other aspiring criminals and traitors.

Lie #10: It most definitely is allowed:
Everything that Mueller is doing is strictly according to the law (see Lie #1). Trump didn’t cite any alleged legal violation because there isn’t one. Not that he would be able to understand it if there were. His lawyers haven’t even cited any legal argument for ending the investigation, nor have they filed any motions to do so. The only threat to the investigation is Trump’s frequent warnings that he might interfere with the proceedings because he doesn’t like that they exist. That would just be another incident of obstruction of justice.

So Trump’s tweet managed to get everything wrong. It was a panicky outburst that exhibits just how frightened and desperate he is. It’s what lawyers call “consciousness of guilt.” And Trump has demonstrated that so many times it’s impossible to count. One thing for sure is that Mueller is taking all of this into consideration and it will be a part of his final report. Trump is so stupid he has no idea how badly he’s hurting his own case. But that’s typical of malignant narcissists who are always convinced of their own superior intelligence and virtue. And it’s also typical of their eventual downfall.
