Pathological Liar! Trump’s 3 Biggest Lies He Told on July 4th – Or Maybe Just the Dumbest

It may not be regarded as news anymore when Donald Trump is caught uttering blatant falsehoods without an iota of shame. He has done it tens of thousands of times since his emergence as a public figure. And sadly, the media has become inured to Trump’s deliberate dishonesty and often neglects to give it the attention it deserves.

Trump Lies

Trump’s deceptions are still frequent and more dangerous than ever. They distort everything from national security, to the economy, to law and justice, to health matters, and so much more. And despite the transparency of his untruths, his worshipful cult disciples embrace whatever Dear Leader tells them as if it were gospel. Never mind how maniacally insane and hostile his outbursts have become.

Not surprisingly, Trump spent the July 4th holiday disgorging his daily quota of lies. Most of them were tangentially related to his signing of the “Big Ugly Bill” (BUB) that will terminate the health insurance of millions of Americans, deprive low income families of food, and finance more fascist apprehensions of migrants. All while cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, and exploding the national debt.

Melded into this monstrosity of malice were some of Trump’s most flagrant lies. What follows are three of the most notable. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list. That would be both prohibitively time consuming given the quantity of his lies, and redundant given his penchant for repeating the same lies incessantly. But it is a representative sample of Trump’s psychotic dysfunction.

Let’s begin with Trump’s assertion that the BUB is “the most popular bill ever signed in history.” Not only is that a lie, but the truth is the the complete opposite. It may be the least popular bill ever signed. Every poll shows that American people are steadfastly opposed to it. Even the Fox News poll has it 21 points underwater.

Next we have Trump’s claim that his BUB delivers “no tax on Social Security.” Nope. That is not in the bill. While it does have an increased standard deduction that could reduce the tax owed by some recipients, there is no language that exempts Social Security from taxation. Furthermore, the bill ignores the single most impactful reform for Social Security, which would be raising or eliminating the cap on the income subject to FICA withholding. Also, the provisions related to taxes on tips and overtime are temporary, while the tax cuts for the rich are permanent.

Trump blatantly lies that his #BigUglyBill delivers "no tax on social security." That is not in the bill.What's more, the cuts for taxes on tips and overtime are limited and expire in two years. The cuts for corporations and the wealthy are broad and permanent.

Finally, Trump unleashed a typically incoherent rant about energy wherein he gushed about what he called “clean, beautiful coal,” while raging over wind, saying that…

“We’re putting up wind, wind. It doesn’t work. I will tell you, aside from ruining our fields and our valleys, killing all the birds, being very weak and very expensive, all made in China. You know, I noticed something, with all of the windmills that China sends us where we waste our money because it’s the most expensive energy – you know they make about 95% of them, wind turbines – I have never seen a wind farm in China. Why is that? Somebody check that out, Tom Emmer will you please check that out.”

For the record, this is what Trump says that he has never seen, as reported by Reuters, “China widens wind power lead with new generation record“…

China’s wind farms produced over 100 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity in March, the highest monthly total ever by a single country and as much as all of Europe and North America combined, data from energy think tank Ember shows.

“The production total was 25% more than during the same month in 2023, and helps extend China’s dominant position as by far the world’s largest renewable energy producer [and is] part of Beijing’s ambitious plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2060.”

So while China is taking the lead in the future of clean energy production and technologies, Trump is ensuring that the U.S. races full speed backwards to the early 1900s when fossil fuels sickened millions of workers and poisoned the environment for everybody else.

These are just a handful of Trump’s horrific distortions of reality. In the same speech he dropped a grossly anti-Semitic slur referring to bankers as “shylock.” He declared that he hates all Democrats, who comprise more than half of the country’s population and about half of their representatives in Congress. And he celebrated the passage of the BUB by accepting a gift of the gavel used by GOP House Speaker, MAGA Mike Johnson, at the close of the vote. Which could not have been a more appropriate symbol of how Congress has subjugated itself to their master and messiah, Trump…

Trump Plans a UFC Fight at the White House to Bring it More of that Trump Class and Dignity

Following his triumphant mission to terminate health insurance for nearly 12 million Americans, while cutting taxes for billionaires and exploding the national debt, Donald Trump has quickly pivoted to a new project that is certain to shower the nation in the stately grandeur that makes so many citizens proud.

During a campaign style rally in Iowa, Trump announced his intention to stage an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House. This is the sort of august affair that is consistent with Trump’s other recent enhancements to the People’s House, such as two giant flag poles, the paving over of the Rose Garden, the hanging of his mugshot paintings, and refurbishing the Oval Office with faux-gold ornaments and décor. All in an effort to encourage pride and patriotism.

Where would the nation be without Trump’s lofty facade of MAGA-sterial munificence? The elegance that he exudes with every utterance was evident as he thrilled his cult followers at the State Fair in Des Moines with news of his latest sleazy spectacle…

“We’re going to have a UFC fight. Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White? We’re going to have a UFC fight. We’re going to have a UFC fight — think of this on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there. We’re going to build a little — we’re not, Dana is going to do it. Dana is great, one of a kind — going to be a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20,000 to 25,000 people, and we’re going to do that as part of ‘250’ also.”

What could be more representative of the Era of Trump than a phony sporting event featuring hulk-like contestants in trunks pretending to battle it out to win a humongous, gaudy belt and a dubious title? Maybe Trump himself will enter the contest and win another participation trophy like the dozens he has awarded himself at his own golf courses.

In addition to boosting the classiness of the White House, Trump is rewarding a longtime political ally and financial backer. UFC boss, Dana White, is an old friend and business associate of Trump’s who donated a million dollars to his “America First Action” super?PAC. That political action committee was chaired by Linda McMahon, the former head of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which is part of the same corporate family as the UFC.

McMahon is also Trump’s current Secretary of Education. Seriously…Education(!?) She recently decreed that, in order for universities to receive federal grants that fund life-saving research on cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other devastating illnesses, they must be “in sync” with the Trump administration. And she is a full fledged member of the Trump cult who giddily participates in his glorification ceremonies…

SUCH AS…Trump Gathers His Cabinet Members to Conduct Another Festival of Feckless Trump-Fluffing

As usual, Trump is bathing America in the sewage of his tacky persona, and exploiting his office to benefit himself and his cronies. He couldn’t care less about the American people or the reputation of the United States as it nears its 250 year anniversary. Count on Trump to make things even worse as the celebration nears and he begins to pitch his 250th birthday bibles, sneakers, and posters of himself as a jacked Uncle Sam.

Toxic Trump’s Hateful 4th of July Message is – as Usual – All About Trump and Attacking His Foes

America’s annual observance of its independence is a day that is traditionally filled with gratitude and pride among friends and family. To be sure, there will be plenty of that. There will be food and festivities and fireworks in the nation’s homes, parks, and public squares. And hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves and appreciate their great good fortune.

However, behind the celebratory surface, the nation is slogging through the muck of a presidential campaign that is tainted by the noxious presence of a convicted felon who despises much of what the country stands for. Donald Trump is not shy about disparaging the country that is, in his twisted view, a “failed nation” that is mired in corruption and led by “radicals” and “thugs” who are all determined to destroy the country, and more specifically, him.

On this Fourth of July, Trump posted another one of his heartwarming messages in tribute to the nation he finds so deplorable on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. It was a long, incoherent mess of hostility and narcissistic maliciousness. And true to form, Trump turned the holiday into an homage to himself and his own petty grievances. It’s too long and repulsive to post in full. But a few excerpts are sufficient to give the tone of his repugnant regards…

“Happy Fourth of July to all, including to our highly incapable ‘President,’ who uses Prosecutors to go after his Political Opponent.”

Of course, despite his incessant whining, President Biden had nothing to do with with Trump’s prosecutions. And he was found guilty unanimously of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers. As for his capability, Biden’s administration is the most productive in more than 50 years. But Trump wasn’t through kvetching…

“Also, respects to our potentially new Democrat Challenger, Laffin’ Kamala Harris.”

Trump loves to make up infantile nicknames for his enemies. That’s because his emotional maturity stalled at about seven years. It’s telling that the best he could do for Vice-President Harris is a name that notes her jovial nature. Which is something that he must envy considering his rancid personality. It’s also something that the Trump cult has latched onto…

And what Trump rant would be complete without a swipe at special counsel Jack Smith?

“Someone else that I have to compliment is a Deranged Biden Prosecutor named Jack Smith, who has become a Legend in his own mind.”

You have to wonder why Trump spends so much time and money trying to avoid Smith in court, by filing repeated motions to delay the trials. If he thinks that Smith is such a loser, why wouldn’t he be anxious to face him court and clear his name. Clearly Trump is afraid because he knows that he’s guilty and will be convicted of even more felonies.

Trump has once again demonstrated that he is more concerned about himself than his country. He can’t even celebrate Independence Day without turning it into a gripe session to assuage his vengeance-driven ego. It’s a psychosis that he has exhibited for years. And it’s only getting worse.

Donald Trump Hugs Flag

Unfortunately, there are many charlatans who seek only to exploit the day and its significance. They wear patriotism like a mask in order advance their own personal agendas of power and greed. Those charlatans are known better as the Republican Party. Particularly as represented by their Dear Leader, Donald Trump.

This year the usual GOP suspects are out in force spreading their disingenuous Independence Day greetings. And in doing so, they conveniently forget all of the anti-American things they’ve done for the past year(s) that are contrary to the nation’s principles.

Fortunately, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich is on the lookout for the right-wing hypocrisies. And he posted an Independence Day video (see below) that calls out the pseudo-patriotic pretenders. He begins by saying that…

“Republicans claim they love America. But they sure don’t seem to like the American people. They consistently oppose reforms that a majority of American believe would make their lives better. Like raising the minimum wage, paid family leave, and student debt relief.”

Reich then enumerates the positions of the Republican Party that are starkly at odds with the rest of the country. And it’s a long list. He notes that…

  • Republicans have an aversion to American cities, “which is where 80% of Americans live.” But they also legislate against rural areas by opposing the expansion of Medicaid and food stamps.
  • Republicans reject climate change, and they subordinate the interests of citizens to those of corporations that pollute the environment and abuse the land and waters.
  • Republicans pretend to revere the military, even as they cut their benefits and healthcare.
  • Republicans attack core American values by suppressing freedom of speech, implementing book bans, and imposing religion in violation of the doctrine of separation of church and state.
  • Republicans assault democracy by passing laws that make it harder to vote, punishing legitimately elected officials, and making baseless allegations of election fraud in order to overturn results that they don’t like.

It’s hard to find anything that remotely resembles patriotism in the Republican mindset. And Reich does an excellent job of summarizing it. He closes by saying that…

“It’s time to stop letting Republicans claim the mantle of patriotism without actually being patriots. Patriotism means loving freedom. Freedom to make your own healthcare choices. Freedom to choose who and how you love. Freedom of speech. Freedom of assembly. Freedom to unionize. Freedom also means wanting Americans to be free from the fear of gun violence. And free from crushing student debt.

“Above all, patriotism involves strengthening our democracy. True patriots don’t put loyalty to their political party above their love of America. True patriots don’t support an attempted coup. Now is the time for the rest of us to reclaim patriotism and affirm its true meaning.”

In the meantime. Trump was up at 2:30 AM to post a profane, and typically Trumpian, Independence Day message…

Sadly, a new tradition seems to be emerging for the 4th of July – mass shootings. There have been two this year (so far). Let’s hope this new ritual doesn’t become routine. Last year there was one that was memorialized by the GOP’s Shadow House Speaker, Marjorie Taylor Greene…

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says July 4th Mass Shooting Was a ‘False Flag’ to Advance Gun Control

The Alex Jones-ification of the Republican Party continues to build up steam. What was once the purview of radical right fringe derangement is now mainstream GOP doctrine. And among the most prominent conspiracy crackpots of the wingnut faction is Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.

On Wednesday Greene posted a video rant that was typically dishonest and grossly insensitive. She sought to miseducate her deplorable followers with a commentary on the horrific mass shooting that occurred on July 4th in Highland Park Illinois. That tragic event resulted in seven deaths and dozens of injuries. But to Greene it was nothing but a staged melodrama – a “false flag” operation – with political intent. She said that…

“Two shootings on July 4th. One in a rich white neighborhood and the other at a fireworks display. Almost sounds like it was designed to persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control.

I mean, after all, remember, we didn’t see that happen at all the Pride parades in the month of June, but as soon as we hit MAGA month, as soon as we hit the month that we’re all celebrating, loving our country, we have shootings. I mean, that would sound like a conspiracy theory, right? Of course. But what’s the definition of a right-wing conspiracy theory? Well, by the way, it’s the news, but just six months early.”

So Greene is asserting that there was no shooting and no victims on July 4th, or worse, that there were victims, but that they were purposefully planned political murders. And the intention of the alleged plotters was to “persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control.”

Greene’s “proof” of the existence of this lethal mission is that it took place in “a rich white neighborhood.” during what she called “MAGA month,” as if the StormTrumpers own July. She further validated her theory by noting that there are never any mass shootings at LGBTQ events. Who wants to tell her about the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida, in 2016, that killed 49 people and wounded 53 more?

Greene is a notoriously demented cretin whose antics often seem cartoonish and bizarre. For instance, she recently reported comedian Jimmy Kimmel to the police for telling a joke. And she also compared wearing face masks to the Holocaust.

However, this latest tirade is downright disgusting. The victims have not even been laid to rest. It is painfully reminiscent of when Alex Jones claimed that the mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut was a “false flag” operation staged by “crisis actors.” There were 20 children and 6 adults murdered at the school.

Jones is currently being sued on behalf of the Sandy Hook victims and their families. Hopefully Greene will suffer the same fate for her irresponsible lies and callous disregard for human life. Her Republican confederates must be pressed to speak out against her comments. But don’t your breath. Most of them, if not all, are just as depraved as she is.

Trump Drops an Utterly Unhinged Harangue to Celebrate Himself on the 4th of July

There is nothing more predictable than Donald Trump turning the focus of any and every public event or commentary to himself. He is a textbook example of a malignant narcissist for whom all attention must always be placed on him no matter what the occasion. And this 4th of July is no different.

Donald Trump Hugs Flag

Trump is observing this Independence Day by throwing another one of his infantile distemper tantrums. This one comes in a burst of petulant rage that has surely been aggravated by the accumulating evidence of his criminality being presented by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection that he incited.

The multi-post tirade that Trump hammered out on his Twitter clone website, TRUTH Social (that is both failing financially and flailing legally), was rife with his tediously repetitious whining and insults stemming from his delusions of victimhood. If nothing else, Trump has affirmed his place in history as America’s biggest crybaby.

The rants that Trump posted cover a narrow range of topics mainly devoted to his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was ‘rigged” and “stolen” from him. Never mind that after 20 months, and sixty court challenges, he has failed to produce a shred of evidence. What follows are some of his key points, with reality-based annotations:

Trump began by assailing the Republican vice-chair of the Committee as “despicable human being Liz Cheney.” As usual, he is incapable of factually rebutting anything that she has said, so he resorts to childish name-calling.

He complained that “HER Fake Unselect Committee may recommend CRIMINAL CHARGES against” him. If he really believes the Committee is “fake,” then why is he so worried about the charges?

He repeated his ridiculous boast that he “got more votes than any sitting President.” So what? He also got fewer votes than Joe Biden. You know, the winner. And both candidates got large vote totals because the population – and the electorate – are bigger.

He’s thinks the Committee should “press charges instead against those that cheated on the Election.” They would if that weren’t a figment of his perverse imagination. He’s tried dozens of times to assert his cheating claim in court. And he lost every case, even those with Republican judges.

Returning to his name-calling, Trump lashed out at “the highly partisan Unselect Committee of political Thugs.” Of course, the Committee has two very conservative Republicans. Although there is a partisan aspect to the witnesses who have testified against him. They are all Republicans.

Naturally, he had to unleash his objections to the “Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax # 2, the ‘No Collusion’ Mueller Report and, overall, the GREATEST WITCH HUNT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA.” True to form, everything that Trump doesn’t like is either a hoax or a witch hunt.

He wants the Committee to “go after the people who have been rioting.” That’s exactly what the Department of Justice is doing. In fact, some 800 of them them have already been arrested for storming Congress and trying to overthrow the government, at Trump’s behest.

Then he adds “No, let’s get ‘Trump’!” Don’t worry, Donald, they’ll get around to you. Also, why do you put your own name in quotes, as if it’s a fictional reference?

Finally, Trump says that “none of these terrible events would have happened if I were President!!!” First of all, it’s good to see him admit that he is not president. But it’s preposterous for him to claim that the events he’s griping about, most of which he is responsible for, wouldn’t have happened were he still occupying the White House. And he was responsible for many other horrendous events when he was there as well.

And that was Trump’s 4th of July message to America. That was what his glassy-eyed cult disciples regard as a patriotic address. But then what else would you expect from the guy who refused to visit a war memorial for American soldiers because he considers them to be “losers” and “suckers”?
