UH-OH: Wait Until the GOP / Trump Cult Finds Out How Ultra Woke FOX News Is

The preeminent buzzword of 2023 is indisputably “Woke.” The Republican Party has adopted it as the braindead alternative for anything that they are opposed to. They can simply apply it to whatever the outrage of the day is without the burden of having to think or construct a logical argument. It’s that freedom from thinking that makes it so profoundly stupid. Yet somehow they’re proud of it. They don’t even have to have a coherent definition of it, which, conveniently, they don’t.

Fox News, Titanic

Consequently, the GOP mindlessly rails against woke banks, woke schools, woke justice, woke healthcare, woke climate, woke economy, woke education, woke capitalism, and more broadly wokism, the woke mind virus, and the ominous woke-ocracy.

Prominent Republicans embrace their sinister take on being woke as if it were a tangible object, or at lease a cogent ideology. But their commentaries are pitifully hollow. For instance…

  • Nikki Haley: Woke is a virus more dangerous than any pandemic.
[Really? So where have all these woke fatalities been buried?]
  • Ron DeSantis: [Florida is the state] where woke goes to die.
[To be fair, Florida is the state where lots of people go to die]
  • Kevin McCarthy: We’re going to pass bills to fix…woke indoctrination in our schools.
[That’s if he can find any]]
  • Tucker Carlson: Woke M&M’s have returned.
[Leave it to Tucker to uncover the worst of woke]
  • Donald Trump: Everything woke turns to shit.
[As usual, Trump articulates the problem in the most graceful and intelligent way]

What all of these anti-woke activists seem to be missing is that what they profess to be so adamantly opposed to is often ingrained in the institutions that they revere and rely on. Most notable among them is the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. That’s quite an oversight for a party that is so committed to anti-wokism that they created the first ever House Anti-Woke Caucus.

SEE THIS: GOP Creates an ‘Anti-Woke’ Caucus to Take on the ‘Greatest Domestic Threat to America Today’

Before they continue on their anti-woke crusade, they might want to take a look at the Fox News Corporate Responsibility Report that boasts that the company is “committed to diversity from the very top. […] An inclusive and diverse workplace is not merely a strategy or business objective—it is fundamentally woven in the fabric of the Company.” It goes on to elaborate more specifically that…

“Our Preventing Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation Policy protects individuals on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, family status, caregiver status, sex (including pregnancy status, childbirth, breastfeeding, and related medical conditions), gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, sexual and reproductive health decisions, reproductive health decision-making, hair texture or hairstyles, military or veteran status, political affiliation, arrest or conviction record, union membership, unemployment status, credit history, status as a victim of domestic violence, stalking or sexual offenses, or any other legally protected characteristic.”

OH MY! Have the GOP Woke Police heard about this? How can any Republican appear on Fox News under these conditions? It’s almost as if Fox News supports the sort of equity and civil rights that they vilify on the air 24/7. Never mind that they have a rather bizarre definition of “equity.”

RELATED: HUH? Fox News Host Ridiculously Redefines ‘Equity’ as Evil and the Cause of Communism

However, there is much more in Fox’s report that should concern their GOP benefactors. Such as…

“We have taken specific action as part of our strategy to mitigate environmental risks, including those related to climate change.”

And that…

“FOX is committed to accuracy and editorial independence: Our news organizations carefully vet sources and check facts, and we maintain strict separation between revenue sources and our news and opinion content.”

That’s especially laughable considering what was recently disclosed in the billion dollar defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News that revealed the extent of the brazen lies told by Fox’s executives and hosts regarding their phony allegations of election fraud on behalf of Trump and his “Big Lie” the election was “rigged and stolen” from him.

SEE ALSO: IT’S A CULT: Most Fox News Viewers Are Still Loyal After Dominion Lawsuit Discloses Their Lies

What’s more, the war against woke isn’t even an effective political strategy. A recent poll by USA Today/Ipsos found that a majority of Americans have a positive impression of the term. According to the poll…

“Fifty-six percent of those surveyed say the term means ‘to be informed, educated on, and aware of social injustices.’ That includes not only three-fourths of Democrats but also more than a third of Republicans.

“Overall, 39% say instead that the word reflects what has become the GOP political definition, ‘to be overly politically correct and police others’ words.’ That’s the view of 56% of Republicans.”

The only reason that Republicans latched onto the term in the first place was that it originated in the Black community as a call to be conscious of oppression and discrimination, and to work to overcome the inequities of society. So naturally right-wingers sought to appropriate it and attempt to turn it into a pejorative. It is as unambiguously racist as the right’s dishonest efforts to brand Critical Race Theory (CRT) as advocating hatred of White people, when it’s simply a fact-based educational program about the systemic racism in American institutions.

None of that, however, has deterred Republicans from pushing their woke narrative. And we can expect them to continue to do so despite its ineffectiveness as a political message. Likewise, we can expect them to ignore the hypocrisy of chastising liberals for their woke-ocity, while ignoring the very same traits at Fox News and other right-leaning entities. Because all that they really have are their lies, hypocrisy, and associated – although mostly feigned – outrage. It’s what they do.

Fox News Attacks Biden for Joining the March to Honor the 58th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday

It must getting awfully difficult for Fox News to manufacture new outrages involving President Biden. Day after day of inventing pseudo-scandals where there isn’t a hint of misconduct or controversary is clearly over-taxing the feeble minded propagandists at Fox News.

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

Following a weekend that featured Donald Trump speaking before the Conference of Political Ass Clowns (CPAC) also posed a challenge for Fox News in trying to surpass the Olympic-grade gormlessness of Trump and his flunkies, including Don Jr, Kari Lake, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and the MyPillow guy, Mike Lindell. And they couldn’t possibly come up with anything more asinine than Trump’s own preposterous proposal to award Pulitzer prizes to Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and other Fox hacks.

RELATED: Trump Pitches Perverse Proposal to Give Pulitzer Prizes to the Loud Boys (Only) of Fox News

Consequently, the stable geniuses at Fox came up with a story line that smacks of racism and disrespect for the troubled history of civil rights in America. Pretending to cover a march in Selma, Alabama commemorating the 58th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, Fox published a story on their website titled, “Biden urged to ‘choose more worthy allies’ after marching with Sharpton in Selma.”

The article ignored entirely the importance of the event being observed, focusing instead on some pitifully weak criticisms that rested on irrelevant assertions of guilt by association. It began…

“President Biden is being urged to “choose more worthy allies” after marching with the Rev. Al Sharpton in Selma Alabama on Sunday. Biden marked the 58th anniversary of Selma’s “Bloody Sunday,” where activists chanted for voting rights as they crossed the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge.” […]

“Biden shared the stage in Selma with Sharpton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. William Barber II, Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Ala, and Martin Luther King III.”

The remainder of the article found some tenuous fault with Biden for “choosing” to participate in a memorial march with Revs. Sharpton and Jackson, who Fox asserted were anti-Semitic based on remarks made forty years ago.

The first problem with Fox’s framing is that they could not find any evidence of antisemitism by either of the Reverends in this century. And those that occurred decades ago were disavowed and apologized for. The second problem with Fox’s contrivance was that Biden didn’t choose the participants in this event. And surely icons of the civil rights movement like Sharpton and Jackson would be expected to participate.

What Biden was responsible for were his remarks at the event. He gave a stirring speech that promoted the advancement of civil rights and voting rights (full text here, and video below). These were topics that Fox News studiously neglected. Biden said in part…

“I come here in commemoration — not for show — Selma is a reckoning. The right to vote — the right to vote and to have your vote counted is the threshold of democracy and liberty. With it, anything is possible. Without it — without that right, nothing is possible. And this fundamental right remains under assault. The conservative Supreme Court has gutted the Voting Rights Act over the years. Since the 2020 election, a wave of states and dozens — dozens of anti-voting laws fueled by the Big Lie, and the election deniers now elected to office.” […]

“In January, I signed the Electoral Count Reform Act to protect the will of the people and the people transferring the — and the peaceful transfer of power. But we know that we must get the votes in Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. I’ve made it clear I will not let a filibuster obstruct the sacred right to vote and the right of any other right that flow from there.”

It wasn’t just Fox News who failed to honor this anniversary. After all, they literally regard equity as evil. However, the leaders of the Republican Party that Fox speaks for were also noticeably absent. That’s because they have no interest in showing respect for this part of the nation’s history. In fact, they even regard the teaching of it – i.e. Critical Race Theory – as an affront to their perverse notion of patriotism, even though they admit that they don’t know it means. And not surprisingly, this racially offensive fish stinks from the head…

Marjorie Taylor Greene Unleashes Racist Rant Defending Confederate Statues and Lazy Black People

Among the cultural upheavals generated in the era of Donald Trump has been the sanitizing and normalizing of bigotry. From the day he slithered down his golden elevator to announce his candidacy by maligning immigrants as criminals and rapists, he signaled to America’s Klanists that he would be their champion and make the nation safe for hate.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon

Trump led a movement that shamelessly professed racial hatred and, consequently, he won the support of the most virulent people and groups who advocated for it. That relationship was recently reinforced when he dined with the flagrant anti-Semite, Ye (aka Kanye West) and the notorious Hitler fanboy, Nick Fuentes, at Mar-a-Lago.

RELATED: Trump Says Ye and Fuentes Weren’t Vetted Because ‘My Guests [Won’t Be] Strip Searched and Beaten’

Trump’s embrace of white supremacy has empowered second string Trumpist hacks like Marjorie Taylor Greene to proudly come forward with their own seething prejudices. Which is precisely what she did this weekend in remarks that she posted online.

Greene began by expressing her repugnant views about the preservation of statues that herald the racist, slave-owing traitors of the Confederacy. She justifies retaining these offensive effigies on the basis that it is preserving history. But statues are not a method of documenting history. That’s what books and classrooms are for. Statues are a tribute intended to honor the subject. That’s why we don’t have statues of Benedict Arnold or Lee Harvey Oswald or Hitler in our public squares as historical recordkeeping.

Nevertheless, in her comments Greene provided her take on how Black Americans should respond to the presence of commemorative monuments to slave masters, because apparently they’ve been doing it wrong:

“If I were Black people today and I walked by one of those statues I would be so proud because I’d say look how far I have come in this country.”

Exactly! And Jews should prostrate themselves before statues of Hitler with pride for how he was defeated in World War II, despite his mission being taken up by Trump’s pal Fuentes, and other neo-Nazis. Japanese Americans should pay homage to concentration camps. And when will Native Americans finally acknowledge the contribution that Andrew Jackson made to their genocide because he’s no longer around?

According to Greene the memorials built to celebrate progress against prejudice should feature the worst of the perpetrators of it. For that reason she would probably support the erection of a statue commemorating James Earl Ray, the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr. Because it’s – you know – history.

However, Greene was just getting started. She also wanted to make sure that everyone understood how accepting she is of people of all races, and how little skin color matters to her. So she spun a tale about how white people are no worse than Black people when it comes to personal responsibility. To make her point, Greene quoted from an editorial published in the New York Times on November 11, 2017. The column titled Can My Children Be Friends With White People? was written by Cardozo law professor, Ekow N. Yankah. It asked some difficult questions and concluded with a measure of hopefulness. Of course, that isn’t how Greene saw it:

Greene (quoting Yankah): Despite centuries of exclusion and robust evidence of continuing racism, minority underemployment is often couched in the language of bad choices and personal responsibility.
Greene: I gotta tell you, anybody’s unemployment has to do with bad choices and personal responsibility. And, again, that does not have a skin color. I know a ton of white people that are as lazy and sorry and probably worse than Black people I know.”

Really? Worse than Black people? Can that even be possible? What a generous depiction Greene is making of Black people who, while in her view are inherently lazy, might sometimes not be quite as lazy as the “ton” of white slackers she happens to know. Which says something about the class of Caucasians she consorts with.

What’s more, Greene utterly dismisses any notion that Black underemployment might be the result of discriminatory hiring. To her it is always due to low moral character. And this is how she “compliments” Black folks in a public video. Just imagine how disparaging her true feelings must be.

Tucker Carlson is APPALLED By All the Black Women Biden Appointed to Federal Courts – Illegally?

America is undergoing some of the most tumultuous times in its history. It is being spied on by giant Chinese party favors. It is fighting demonic pop music stars. And Hunter Biden’s laptop is still at large threatening to cast the nation into an abyss of communistic oppression.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Klan Hat

In the midst of that avalanche of apocalyptic horror, Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, is committed to reminding his vulgarian viewers that President Biden and the Democratic Party are on a mission to darken America demographically. It’s all part of the “Great Replacement” theory that Carlson has been pushing for several years.

SEE THIS: Tucker Carlson of Fox News Fears Democrats are ‘Importing New Voters’ to ‘Replace’ Him

On Monday Carlson lashed out at Biden for having the audacity to bring some equity to the federal court system after a couple of centuries of flagrant bigotry. Fox News has already redefined “equity” as evil (literally), and Carlson is anxious to add his warped perspective on the subject. So he complained bitterly about Biden’s judicial nominees being too Black…

“Out of 97 federal judges confirmed under Joe Biden, total number of white men: five. Twenty-two are Black women. So this is race-based hiring. It’s illegal. But it’s also not about looking like America. It’s about punishing people.”

Exactly! Biden is dead set on punishing the historically discriminated population of white males in America. It’s about time. Carlson elaborated saying that “no administration has ever looked less like America … than the Biden administration,” and that they were “discriminating against certain classes of people who don’t vote for them.” Because everyone knows that no white person has ever voted for Biden or any Democrat. That would be illegal, wouldn’t it?

Contrast that with Donald Trump and his record of having appointed the smallest share of nonwhite judges in more than 25 years. For the record, according to the American Bar Association

  • There are 59 Black women among the 1,409 sitting Article III federal judges across the country. That’s 4% of all federal judges. All but 11 are in the trial courts. Fifty-two were appointed by Democratic presidents.
  • The federal bench is still largely white and male. Seventy percent of all sitting Article III federal judges are male; 78% are white.

So you can see why Carlson is so upset. The federal judiciary is still far from being 100% white male. And Carlson, Fox News, and the Republican Party, will not rest until that goal is reached.

Racial equity in the courts is an atrocity to these “patriots.” In fact, Carlson actually went into a rage when Biden promised to nominate more Black women. And he described the nomination of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as Biden’s effort to “destroy” the Supreme Court and to “humiliate and degrade” the country. So it’s no secret where he and his confederates stand.

HUH? Fox News Host Ridiculously Redefines ‘Equity’ as Evil and the Cause of Communism

Watching Fox News provides a living lesson in how right-wing propagandists use and abuse language to indoctrinate weak minds. They carefully craft how they frame issues in order to manipulate their already deluded audience into embracing their conservative biases and conspiracy theories.

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

Among the rhetorical carrots that Fox News and Republicans have been dangling temptingly before their screed-starved supplicants is the newly coined “woke” polemic that the right defines broadly as any passingly liberal sounding policy that can be spun into a pseudo-scandal.

Everything from Critical Race Theory to voting rights to progressive taxation to climate change, and more can be lumped into what the right regards as “wokism.” It’s become a catch-all pejorative for whatever is bothering them at any particular moment. Never mind that it’s original meaning, as used in the Black community, was simply to be informed, educated and conscious of social injustice. And those are qualities that are anathema to conservatives.

RELATED: GOP Creates an ‘Anti-Woke’ Caucus to Take on the ‘Greatest Domestic Threat to America Today’

On Tuesday Greg Gutfeld of Fox News added another word to the wingnut lexicon that required redefinition by the the right. Gutfeld presented his candidate for politically correcting verbiage: “Equity.”

Gutfeld’s conspiracy theory is that there is a coordinated effort by some nefarious unnamed liberal cabal to replace the word “equality” with the word “equity.” He warns that “it’s really important that people understand what the difference is, because one is about peace and the other is about war.” And how does he justify that bizarre distinction? With a tortured illogic that mauls the definitions of both words (video below).

“Equality simply defined is that people have the same opportunities to achieve the same goals. We’re all at the same starting place. Equity though is we enforce limits on achievement so no one achieves more than anyone else. That will punish the really hard workers. That leads to war. That is socialism.”

WHUT? Gutfeld is not even close to the actual meanings of either word. Equality has nothing to do with “opportunities” or “starting places.” For the record, equality is the state in which people have the same stature and/or class. And while that sounds admirable, it can mean that two people can be discriminated against in the same measure and that would still be considered equality.

Equity means fairness and impartiality. So it requires that there be no discrimination. The words are complimentary, not contradictory. Of course, none of that matters to Gutfeld or Fox News. All they are interested in is smoothing a path to express their inherent racism. However, Gutfeld went even farther to demonize equity as something harmful and associated with oppression.

“So equality gives everybody a step up, and equity crushes from above. And you have to remind yourself of this. Whenever you run into this situation because people are gonna are always try to replace equality with equity and you can see it in news reports. They’ll just let the word equity fly by. That is an evil word. It is a word that caused communism. It’s part of socialism.”

One would have to have a pretty twisted perspective to link equity with something that “crushes from above.” And to characterize equity as “evil” is evidence of a perverse misunderstanding of the English language, if not a wholly warped worldview. Embracing such a depraved paradigm would naturally lead Gutfeld to the ludicrous conclusion that “equity” begets communism.

Gutfeld is Fox’s court jester. He is supposed to be their comic relief. But he isn’t joking about this. And conservatives have never been known for their sense of humor anyway.

RELATED: Trump is Silent About the Insurrection in Brazil, But is Very Upset About Late Night Comedy TV

Nevertheless, this is emblematic of how right-wing media and Republican politicians communicate. They take words that are already in common use and distort them to express something entirely different and utterly deplorable. Then they accuse anyone who engages in whatever practice it is that they have absurdly redefined, of being corrupt or dishonest or otherwise undesirable. Which, ironically, is a strikingly accurate definition of themselves.

SRSLY? House Squeaker McCarthy Brags on Fox News About the ‘Diversity’ of the Republican Party

The spanking new – and precariously narrow – Republican majority in the House of Representatives is off to an entirely predictable stumbling start. After taking a historic fifteen votes to crown their so-called leader, Kevin McCarthy, they immediately passed a rules package that neutered him, insuring that he will be a weaker Speaker than any of his modern predecessors.

Click here to Tweet this article

Kevin McCarthy, House Speaker (Squeaker)

Naturally, the first priority of a Republican politician intent on pedaling positive propaganda, is to book a visit with Sean Hannity of Fox News. Which is precisely what McCarthy did Tuesday night. He brought along twenty of his closest comrades to turn the Capitol into a Fox News studio annex. And even though McCarthy had previously showered his lord and savior, Donald Trump, with gratitude, Trump was apparently too busy spinning lies about President Biden to join them.

RELATED: Trump and His GOP Toadies Furiously Spin Bogus Nothingburger Story About Biden Documents

Undeterred, McCarthy took full advantage of the platform that Hannity provided to disseminate Republican ignorance and lies. And true to form, McCarthy exhibited his utterly shameless ability to put into, what marginally passes for English, a perspective of the world that bears no resemblance to reality. For instance, he sat proudly in silence as Hannity praised him for expanding the “diversity” of the Republican Party.

“One of the things I’d like to see and am seeing is more diversity in the Republican Party. To me the Democratic Party is the party of coastal elites.”

Elaborating on that, McCarthy’s chair of the House Republican Conference, Elise Stefanik, said to…

“Take a look around at these wonderful members. This is the most diverse class of Republicans ever elected in the history of the United States Congress.”

Go ahead. Take a look around. The members gathered to celebrate “the most diverse class of Republicans ever elected” are all white, and with just three exceptions, men. In fact, the 117th session of Congress had 58 Black members, of whom 56 were Democrats. Republicans just doubled their Black members in the new 118th session to four. And they’re proud of that?

As for Hannity’s boasting about this pitiful representation by people of color, his lament about “coastal elites” is painfully hypocritical. Hannity divides his residency between his homes in New York and Florida. And he’s whining about these nefarious coast dwellers to McCarthy, who represents a district in California.

For good measure, Hannity invited McCarthy to further embarrass himself by bringing up the issue of the debt ceiling, which Republicans have promised to exploit in order to blackmail Democrats into acceding to GOP demands to cut Social Security and Medicare. That led to this exchange…

Hannity: Now let’s get to the issue of finances and money and spending. Why don’t explain how this process now will be different, and we’re coming up against the debt ceiling vote and what that’s gonna mean. That might be the first test of how committed the Republican Party in the House is to really holding the line on spending. Am I wrong on that?
McCarthy: No, you’re not wrong on that. One of the greatest threats we have for this nation is our debt. It makes us weak in every place that we can. We have never been at this high of debt to GDP except during World War II. And what are we funding? Wasteful Washington spending much of the time.

“So we think if you had a child and you gave him a credit card, and they kept hitting the limit, do you just increase the limit, or do you change their behavior? This is our moment to change the behavior to make sure that hard working taxpayer, that we’re not wasting their money. Do you mean to tell me there’s not waste out there? So we’re gonna look at every single dollar spent. We’re gonna audit. We’re change our behavior so we can balance our budget and make us stronger.

The child with a credit card analogy is flat out ridiculous. Raising the debt ceiling does not impact in any way whatsoever how much money congress can appropriate. It only makes it possible for the Treasury to pay debts already incurred. If the U.S. defaults on those debts it would send the nation – and the world – into a severe recession or worse. If McCarthy were truly interested in reducing the debt, he would do what Biden and the Democrats have been doing that resulted in the deficit declining by $1.4 trillion last year.

For the record, Trump increased the debt by nearly $8 trillion dollars. Much of that was due to his tax cut that benefited corporations and the wealthy. And now McCarthy and the GOP are proposing to defund the IRS and deprive the agency of necessary resources to audit high income individuals and businesses. That is estimated to cost more than $114 billion dollars.

What’s more, Republicans don’t seem eager to “change their behavior.” They aren’t proposing any serious spending cuts, other than those for the safety net programs that middle and lower income Americans rely on. Meanwhile, they continue to push for even more tax cuts and for maintaining subsidies for wealthy, multinational corporations – who don’t pay taxes.

Then, after running up the debt, Republicans want to default on those obligations after the fact. It almost seems like they are deliberately trying to crash the economy during Biden’s presidency and prior to the 2024 presidential election. Now why do you suppose they would want to do that? and for whom?

Trump Says Ye and Fuentes Weren’t Vetted Because ‘My Guests [Won’t Be] Strip Searched and Beaten’

The aftermath of Donald Trump dining with a flagrant anti-Semite (Ye, aka Kanye West) and a notorious white supremacist (Nick Fuentes) continues to roil the political firmament. While a few of Trump’s Republican allies have criticized him, Trump himself has yet to condemn the hate mongering of his Mar-a-Lago dinner companions.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, MAGA

On Thursday afternoon Trump took to his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to attempt to justify his inexcusable fraternization with the blatantly bigoted cretins that he was so comfortable with that he didn’t feel it necessary for his security team to vet them. Never mind that Fuentes is a leader of the American neo-Nazi movement and Ye’s loathsome prejudices were well established.

RELATED: Kanye West Seeks to Buy Parler, the Virulently Racist and Anti-Semitic Twitter Clone

With that as the backdrop, Trump lashed out a reporter for the Associated Press, Jill Colvin, who wrote an article documenting how “Trump’s dinner disaster sparks new rules for his campaign.” Trump raged that…

“The story in AP, written by the untalented and very unreliable Jill Colvin, who I unfortunately got to know at the White House, is Fake News. We have very strong security, especially with the extremely talented Secret Service Agents on premises, but when I know someone, as I did Ye, we’re not going to have my guests strip searched, thrown against walls, and otherwise physically beaten. The anonymous sources don’t exist. Stories to the contrary are FAKE NEWS!”

Really? Let’s set aside Trump’s customary lambasting of any reputable journalist that dares to tell the truth about him. What’s notable here is his willingness to allow strangers into his inner sanctum. This is, of course, the same place where he hoarded the classified documents that he stole from the White House. So imagine all the other nefarious characters who might have had access to them due to Trump’s dangerously casual attitude toward security.

Furthermore, Trump is asserting that anyone who does actually get vetted by his security team is routinely subjected to being “strip searched, thrown against walls, and otherwise physically beaten.” If that’s the standard operating procedure at Mar-a-Lago, you have to wonder where he’s hiding all the bodies.

The AP article that triggered Trump’s temper tantrum reported that…

“[Trump’s] dinner with a Holocaust-denying white nationalist and a rapper who has spewed antisemitic conspiracies … underscores the dangers of his limited campaign operation and leaves the former president subject to stinging criticism from fellow Republicans who increasingly see him as a liability.” […]

“Trump’s campaign is putting new protocols in place to ensure that those who meet with him are approved and fully vetted, according to people familiar with the plans who requested anonymity to share internal strategy. The changes will include expediting a system, borrowed from Trump’s White House, in which a senior campaign official will be present with him at all times, according to one of the people.”

According to Colvin’s sources, Trump’s staff has determined that he needs a chaperone at all times in order to prevent another dining catastrophe or other humiliation. That’s been apparent to Trump watchers for years. However, Trump disputes this story and calls it – what else – “fake news.” So apparently he thinks his operational practices are working just fine, despite the repugnant guests he just hosted and the turmoil it’s caused.

Trump’s brilliant excuse for the unsavory dinner party is that he had “never heard of” Fuentes and that he “had no idea what his views were.” Which in some ways makes the whole affair worse. The aspiring leader of the free world really ought to know the most prominent hate mongers in America, especially if he’s inviting them into his home. But then, Trump has a history of not knowing people that he obviously knew. Here are some of his past denials…

  • I don’t know Putin, have no deals in Russia
  • I don’t know who the Proud Boys are
  • I don’t know Matt Whitaker (his former acting Attorney General)
  • I don’t Know [Gordon] Sondland (his former US Ambassador to the EU)
  • I don’t know [Alexander] Vindman at all (his National Security Council aide)
  • I don’t know who Lil Jon is (a Celebrity Apprentice contestant).
  • I never met former Defense Secretary Robert Gates. He knows nothing about me.
  • I don’t know [George Papadopoulos] (his foreign policy advisor)
  • I know nothing about WikiLeaks (after saying “I love WikiLeaks.”)
  • I hardly know who this person, Cassidy Hutchinson, is. (former aide to his WH Chief of Staff Mark Meadows who testified before the January 6th Committee)

Whatever nonsense Trump wants people to believe about his fore-knowledge of Fuentes, he is not denying his knowledge and friendship with Ye. So just to put a fine point on what that means, here is Ye telling Alex Jones that he “sees good things about Hitler,” and later says that he likes him…

If this is any indication of how Trump is going to manage his 2024 presidential campaign, we can rest assured that there will be an abundance of similarly grotesque episodes. And you can also be confidant that Democrats will be watching eagerly to witness the meltdown with plenty of popcorn on hand.

Fox News Blames Jewish Philanthropists for Gun Violence in 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Cities

Last week anti-Semitism rose to the top of the news cycle after Donald Trump dined with Ye (aka Kanye West) and the infamous Holocaust denying, white nationalist, Nick Fuentes, at Mar-a-Lago. Trump claims that he doesn’t know who Fuentes is, but several days later he still hasn’t renounced the repulsive bigotry of Fuentes and Ye.

Trump is almost certainly lying when he says that he doesn’t know who Fuentes is. But if true it would be even worse. It would mean that the leading figure in the Republican Party is pitifully ignorant about the most prominent hate monger in America. Well, the most prominent other than Fox News hosts…

It didn’t take long for the seething prejudices of Trump and his dinner guests to surface again on Fox News. Monday morning’s episode of “Outnumbered” twisted a segment on crime into an attack on Jewish billionaires who donate money to politicians and initiatives that seek to reduce gun violence in America, a goal that is popular among the majority of Americans.

The discussion was triggered by comments that Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy made on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday. He noted that states with stronger gun laws have much less gun crime than the so-called “2nd Amendment sanctuary cities” that take pride in letting gun violence proliferate. Then he elaborated asking…

“Do we want to continue to supply funding to law enforcement in counties that refuse to implement state and federal gun laws? Red flag laws are wildly popular.”

Good question. Why should the federal government subsidize cities that refuse to enforce laws that are already on the books? Particularly when there is so much evidence that such laws are effective and that, when they are ignored, gun violence increases. However, that rational observation was lost on the hosts of Fox’s Outnumbered. They used the subject to launch into the following foul exchange…

Harris Faulkner: “I think about that George Soros cash that has poured in and how many people have been damaged and hurt in those neighborhoods where they need the most protection. Of course the soft-on-crime is not going to go away, those liberal DAs. He poured a ton of cash through his entities in there.”
Mercedes Schlapp: Soros, Bloomberg, I mean there’s such a large number of these leftist groups that focused on gun control.”

Once again, these hacks are impervious to the facts about gun violence and crime. But what’s worse is that they went out of their way to put all of the blame for the imaginary crime waves on Jewish philanthropists. That isn’t accidental.

Fox News is carrying out its mission to advance the putrid rhetoric of hate that is integral to the Republican agenda. They are brazenly insulting the good intentions and generosity of Jewish Americans who care about their country and its citizens. So it’s no wonder that they don’t bother to call out the anti-Semitism of Trump and his malicious Mar-a-Lago goon squad. They are too busy reinforcing it. And when they aren’t embracing the vile biases of the GOP, they are promoting their spokespersons. For instance…

Tucker Carlson’s Race War Dreams are Evident in His Hateful Rant Against a Black MSNBC Host

The Senior White Nationalist at Fox News, Tucker Carlson, continues to preach his noxious brand of unabashed racism every night on his cable “news” program. And with each episode he becomes more brazenly contemptuous and uninhibited in unleashing his hate speech.

When he isn’t sucking up to Vladimir Putin or Donald Trump, Carlson devotes his airtime to insulting women and minorities. This week Carlson escalated his rancid rhetoric to wartime levels as he sought to malign Tiffany Cross, a Black political analyst and author who hosts a weekend program on MSNBC. Carlson’s harangue was typical of his loathsome dialogues that routinely display his undisguised bigotry and misogyny.

In this week’s tirade, Tucker was triggered by a segment on Cross’ show where she pointed out that much of the media attention on the January 6th insurrectionists was focused on men and groups such as the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. What Carlson found so offensive is that she asked one of her guests about the role of MAGA women in the movement. So Carlson raged that…

“So it’s not just whites, it’s white women. ‘Their women are bad too.’ The women, of course, are the key to reproducing the white race, which is clearly a threat, as she says again and again to you and your family. They’re dangerous. They want to hurt you. Now, don’t be fooled by the fact that Tiffany Cross can barely speak a coherent sentence. She was a communications major, apparently, according to the internet. That didn’t work.”

Carlson is adopting a old trope among the Klan Kommunity that reduces the role of White women to baby making machines whose sole purpose is to advance the white population and subsequent power.

However, Carlson doesn’t stop there. He is also insulting Cross as “incoherent” and distorting her words to accuse her of denigrating all White women as “dangerous” and, in a longer clip, as “domestic terrorists.” Of course, Cross never said anything close to any of that.

What all of this deliberate distortion on Carlson’s part was leading to was his inner yearning for a race war. He said it explicitly in the segment asking and answering his own question, “What kind of country do you live in? Well, we’re a country at war with itself. A race war.”

This is the kind of hyperbolic hogwash that is spewing daily on Carlson’s show, as well as many of his Fox News comrades. And it is apparently approved by the network’s executives and owners, because they never do anything to rein it in. The entire enterprise has a mission that is reprehensible and dedicated to dividing the American people and to fomenting hatred. They pursue that mission with lies, disinformation, slander.

And no one does it better than Fox’s primetime racist and misogynist, Tucker Carlson. If it weren’t so sick, it could be funny.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News Unleashes Flagrantly Racist Attack on Black EPA Administrator

The Senior White Nationalist at Fox News is fulfilling the mission that he was hired for at the ultra-rightist propaganda network. Tucker Carlson has distinguished himself as the Fox News host most beloved by America’s hate groups and Klan members, and he isn’t the least bit shy about embracing that role.

On Wednesday night’s episode of his White Power Hour, Carlson delivered another of his noxious screeds attacking people of color who had the audacity to excel professionally. You know, the uppity ones. This time his wrath was directed at Michael Regan, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. In Carlson’s perverse mindset Regan couldn’t possibly have the qualifications or intelligence to do the job. He thought the same thing about other recent Black appointees by President Biden.

AND: Tucker Carlson of Fox News Attacks Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a Brazenly Racist Rant

Carlson began by complaining that the just passed Inflation Reduction Act (which received zero votes from Republicans) was a farce. Despite it being heavily favored by majorities of the American people, Carlson overtly lied about it in order foment fear among his dimwitted viewers (video below). He raged that…

“The EPA alone gets more than $40 billion in this bill, including more than $30 billion for so-called disadvantaged communities. What are those? Well, they’re not really defined — people who voted for Joe Biden. So, what it really means is the EPA is going to spread more identity politics and race hate. Are you sick of that yet? The Biden White House is not sick of it. They’re all in.” […]

Carlson has a predictably knee-jerk animosity toward what he disparagingly calls “so-called disadvantaged communities.” Because anything that provides help for the disadvantaged is automatically evil in his beady eyes. What’s more, he assumes that “disadvantaged” means Black, and therefore it’s a race issue. Never mind that most low income Americans are White. Then Carlson goes on to say…

“So, who gets to define what disadvantaged is, a disadvantaged community? Well, that would be the EPA’s administrator, a guy called Michael Regan, This is a guy who’s in his late forties who has never had an actual job in his life, never worked for real business of any kind.” […]

For the record, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in earth and environmental science, and a masters in Public Administration, Regan worked for the EPA for ten years. That was followed by eight years at the Environmental Defense Fund. Then he was the secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality for the state of North Carolina for four years. That’s more than two decades of experience in the field prior to being named to head the EPA. Apparently that’s not enough for Carlson. At least if you’re Black.

In an effort to malign Regan, Carlson quoted remarks he made on The Daily Show where he promised that…

“Everything I do at EPA is through the lens of environmental justice, contracting, procurement, air quality, water quality, land management, starts with ‘Are we protecting the least among us, those who have lacked political representation and those who have not been at the table for decades’?”

In Carlson’s view that suggests that “this is about spreading race hate as virtually everything they do is.” Which is pure projection as the truth is that everything Carlson does is about spreading race hate. It is a fact, though, that the most harm from adverse environmental policies falls on the poor, who are, once again, mostly White.

However, the question of race shouldn’t enter into this discussion. Relieving the harm caused by the anti-environment right-wing is a goal that aims to benefit all Americans regardless of race or any other deliberately divisive factor. But Carlson and Fox News insist on making it a racial argument because that is what excites their audience. Which is not surprising considering what Carlson recently admitted with regard to race and politics…
