Fox News Escalates the War on Christmas with Report on Biden’s ‘Nationwide Santa Shortage’

“The most wonderful time of the year…” is upon us again: The War on Christmas! This annual observance of asininity by right-wing armies of derp celebrates the imaginary assault on the winter holiday that purports revere the Christian Prince of Peace. So Fox News considers it appropriate to wage a contrived war on unsuspecting holiday revelers.

Fox News, Christmas, Coronavirus

The latest front in this battle of twits took place during Wednesday’s episode of Fox’s American Newsroom. Co-host Bill Hemmer introduced the segment saying that “Thanks to a growing shortage of Santas, HireSanta [dot com] reports a 10% decrease in Santas this year versus a 121% increase in demand. Hemmer speculated, therefore, that “Even Santa doesn’t want to work in this economy.” And of course, this is all President Biden’s fault, as was pointed out in the tweet of this breaking news by the Republican National Committee:

There’s a lot that Fox News left out of this shocking and exclusive exposé. For instance, what role did the global supply chain disruption play in the unavailability of Santas in America? And what is Biden doing to address it? Are there Santas backlogged on cargo ships in clogged port facilities?

What’s more, is Biden responsible for a decline in Christmas spirit due to this seasonally inconvenient Santa shortage? Or, conversely, does the higher demand for Santas this year mean that the spirit of Christmas is stronger during Biden’s term than during that of Donald Trump?

Fox News also failed to investigate the possible reasons for this unsettling Santa deficit. Could it have something to do with the COVID pandemic? After all, the coronavirus disproportionately impacts the demographic from which Santas are recruited: older people and those who are overweight.

There may be many of those potential Santas who succumbed to COVID in the past couple of years. The survivors may be hesitant to place themselves in jeopardy. Particularly with all of the unvaccinated children who would be sitting on their laps and possibly coughing and sneezing in close proximity.

Contrary to the framing of Fox News, the scarcity of Santas is most likely due to Fox News itself for disseminating blatant disinformation about the pandemic. And Trump and his administration’s aversion to mitigation measures, such as vaccines, masks, and social distancing is equally responsibly for the dearth of Santas. Had the public health experts been heeded, this pandemic might have ended long ago and Santas would be plentiful. Instead, Santa’s Village may be somewhat desolate this year, unless younger Santas with pillows take up the slack.

Lara Logan of Fox News Compares Dr. Fauci to Sadistic Nazi War Criminal Josef Mengele

There has been a steep downturn at the Bullshit Factory of Fox News with regard to the COVID pandemic that the network is avidly supporting. If one didn’t know better, it would appear that the coronavirus is one of their top sponsors. Every program features segments that aim to boost its spread throughout the nation and the world. it could accurately be called the Fox News Pandemic.

Fox News, Vaccine

Unfortunately, he pro-COVID campaign at Fox News is having some success. In fact, the virus is now most prevalent in red states and counties where Fox News is dominant and their anti-vaccine propaganda has been absorbed. And studies show that most of the pandemic misinformation is believed by viewers of Fox News and other ultra-rightist, Trump-fluffing networks.

So naturally Fox News is upping the ante with dishonest and nauseating attacks on America’s most respected epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci. It’s a coordinated campaign that includes Republicans like Sen. Ted Cruz who called for Dr. Fauci’s arrest and prosecution.

On Monday Fox’s Lara Logan sunk to even deeper depths of cretinism. She unleashed a tirade against the the advocacy of vaccines, for which she says “there’s no justification” because It’s “a disease that ultimately is very treatable” and “has death rates that compare very much to seasonal flu.” Apparently she hasn’t heard about the nearly 800,000 Americans who have died, or the millions who have suffered, some with persistent, disabling symptoms. And she is still clinging to the long ago debunked falsehood that COVID is no worse than the flu.

But if you think that those flagrant lies were bad, you aint heard nothin’ yet. Logan went on to malign Dr. Fauci in the most loathsome manner imaginable:

“What you see on Dr. Fauci – this is what people say to me – that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele. The Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the 2nd World War and in the concentration camps.”

Seriously? Logan is equating the monstrous crimes of a sadistic war criminal who conducted inhumane experiments on Jewish concentration camp prisoners – including children – to Dr. Fauci’s scientifically grounded advice to get vaccinated. Mengele tortured and murdered innocent people. Dr. Fauci is working to save the lives of the vaccine recipients and all those they may encounter. But to Lara Logan and Fox News, those are the same thing. And her hosts on Fox News nodded approvingly at her rancid rhetoric.

Logan went on to complain that common sense measures to mitigate the harm from the coronavirus were exacting too harsh a toll on civil liberties and the economy. The truth is that the deranged thinking of people like her and her Fox News confederates are responsible for that. They are prolonging the harm that the pandemic will cause by resisting efforts to defeat it.

Logan closed her rant by asserting that the Omicron variant is some sort of phony plot contrived for political gain by Democrats. And this wasn’t the first time that Fox News has peddled that paranoid bullpucky. It is part and parcel of their editorial mission to disgorge deliberate fallacies in order to advance their political goals.

Ironically, that makes the practices of Logan and Fox News more comparable to horrors of Mengele. They are actually subjecting their viewers to deadly experiments for partisan gain. The difference is that Mengele’s victims were forced into their horrendous circumstances. Fox News viewers are willfully placing themselves in the path of great harm and participating in their own potential demise.

FAST AND FURIOUS! Fox News is Already Lying to Their Cult Viewers that the Omicron Variant is Fake

This didn’t take long. Less than 48 hours after the Omicron variant of the coronavirus was reported, Fox News has begun their disinformation campaign to make sure that their already dimwitted viewers remain ignorant and at risk.

Fox News, Covid

On Saturday morning’s episode of Fox and Friends, the “Curvy Couch” potatoes engaged in a discussion about the COVID pandemic and the new variant spreading rapidly in South Africa and elsewhere:

Rachel Campos-Duffy: The answer is more lockdowns, more lockdowns. More fear. And therefore, he doesn’t have to do his job of fixing the supply chain because we’ll just keep this whole thing going.
Will Cain: Always a new variant.
Pete Hegseth: Count on a variant about every October, every two years.
Cain: You’re probably right. However, they could speed up the variants. They could come more quickly.
Hegseth: [mimicking phone call] We’re gonna need a new variant here.

So according to these sick and sociopathic Super-spreaders, the Omicron variant is fake. Never mind that it is an international threat affirmed by science. To Fox it’s just a plot by President Biden and Democrats to control Americans. They apparently think it would be a good move politically to shut down businesses and schools; to throw people out of work after achieving the lowest number of unemployment filings in more than fifty years; and to cripple the economy that has been booming ever since Biden was inaugurated. With success like that these Fox News numbskulls think that Biden is now conspiring to put an end to all of it.

And yet, while the Omicron variant is fake to these Fox News pea-brains, over on the alleged “news” side of Fox, where fear mongering is job one, they found a way to treat it as a real threat: Blame it on immigrants. So now a “caravan” of Omicron-infected refugees are headed for the border. The bigotry emanating from Fox is just too predictable.

There is a multilevel idiocy to these remarks. First of all, Fox News has been at the forefront of COVID disinformation from the very start. Consequently, they are responsible for more people being unvaccinated. Studies show that Fox News viewers are significantly trailing viewers of other media in getting vaccinated. Additionally, most recent COVID deaths have been concentrated in red states and counties where Fox News is most viewed.

And if that weren’t bad enough, there is also the psychotic view among the cult of Fox News viewers – who are also Trump cult members – that the vaccines don’t even work. But by remaining unvaccinated they are actually increasing the chances for new and more dangerous variants to form.

And if even that weren’t bad enough, the very same people who believe the virus and the vaccines are all hoaxes by Democrats for reasons they can’t explain, also believe that Donald Trump deserves credit for the vaccines. Former Trump White House staffer, Stephen Miller was on Fox News Saturday saying that…

“If President Trump was still in office, by the way, we’d already have modified vaccines to deal with the new variants. Which is a great point. President Trump brought us vaccines in record time, which he made voluntary, not mandatory. And he’d have updates too.”

Really? Miller seems to think that Trump would have come up with a modified version of the vaccine before the new variant was even discovered. But he would still not advocate for people to get vaccinated because … FREEDUMB!

For the record, Biden has not made vaccines mandatory. He just highly recommends them and requires that people who choose not to get vaccinated be tested weekly. That’s a less strict policy than the one that Fox News imposes on their employees (including the Fox and Friends gang), where testing for the unvaccinated is required daily.

Fox News is continuing to breed the sort of ignorance that is getting people killed and preventing a return to some sense of normalcy. They are spreading lies intended to make life more difficult because they believe that it will harm Biden and help Trump. And their callousness with regard to all of the people who will suffer and die due to their political self interests is reprehensible. But that has always been the mission of Fox News, and it isn’t going to change. The rest of us will just have work harder to make sure they don’t succeed.

Trump and the Wall Street Journal Flagrantly Lie About COVID Fatalities to Malign Biden

The determination of right-wing media outlets to vilify President Biden on a constant basis is the driving force of their malicious editorial mission. Fox News, Newsmax, and others, keep up a perpetual parade of disparaging propaganda even when there are no facts to support their attacks.

Donald Trump, Coronavirus

Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal is among those media manglers hellbent on spreading disinformation intended to deceive their readers and damage Biden’s reputation. On Friday they published an article with an ominous headline declaring the advent of “Biden’s Covid Death Milestone.” Trump promptly tweeted a link to the article (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) The gist of the hit piece was summarized in the opening paragraph stating falsely that…

“It would seem that Mr. Biden has done no better than Donald Trump in defeating Covid despite the benefit of vaccines, better therapies, and more clinical experience.”

The Journal’s argument was based on the fact that there have been about the same number of deaths due to COVID in 2021, during Biden’s presidency, as there were in 2020, during Trump’s. However, that disembodied “factoid” lacks both context and mathematical soundness.

The Journal conveniently left out the relatively massive expansion of the coronavirus and how it blanketed the nation from its inception. It went from nonexistence to pandemic in just a few weeks. That’s where the Journal’s math fell short. Here’s why…

Starting from zero there are fewer people infected and, consequently, fewer people to transmit it to others. The growth of incidents of transmission increases exponentially as the population of those infected increases. For instance, if there are ten people infected, growth of 100% would result in 20 total infected people. However, if there are 10,000 people infected, growth of 100% would result in 20,000 total infected people. So there are far more infected people, but the exact same percentage growth rate.

In real terms, during Trump’s last year in office the number of fatalities went from 10 (when Trump said it would soon decline back to zero) to 400,000, an increase of four million (4,000,000!) percent. During Biden’s first year in office the number of fatalities went from about 400,000 to 800,000, an increase of only 100 percent. That’s a fatality rate percentage decline of 99.9975 percent. So it is brazenly dishonest to say that Biden did no better than Trump. The truth is that during Biden’s term the United States went from 4000 people dying every day by the end of Trump’s term, to about 1,000 deaths a day under Biden, A decline of 75 percent.

What’s more, it must not be forgotten that more than 90% of the new hospitalizations and fatalities are among unvaccinated people. And those vaccine resisters are almost entirely Fox News viewers. It would not be inaccurate to call this the Pandemic of Fox News. Not surprisingly, the unvaccinated are predominantly Trump supporters and Republicans.

From the start of the pandemic Trump has sought to downplay its severity. In the book RAGE, by Bob Woodward it was documented that Trump had deliberately lied about the severity of the coronavirus, saying that he “wanted to always play it down.” Which he is still doing today. Trump insiders recently disclosed that he has refused to promote vaccines because it might upset his cult followers or, gawd forbid, help Biden.

The bottom line for these cretins is, as usual, prioritizing whatever is in their own political self-interest. They couldn’t care less about the suffering and loss of life that they are purposefully contributing to. And to that end they put out lies like this one in the Wall Street Journal that seek to suppress the successes of the Biden administration. Hopefully the truth will find a way to reach the American people through means other than Murdoch’s bullshit factory.

Trump Throws Antifa Tantrum Over January 6th Insurrection on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest

Nearly ten months ago Donald Trump dispatched his psycho StormTrumpers to the Capitol in a doomed but deadly attempt to stage a violent coup. The January 6th insurrection revealed the chilling lengths that the Cult of Trump would go to in order to seize power for a tyrannical madman.

Donald Trump Rally, Sieg Heil

In the months that followed, Trump has doggedly pursued his single-minded obsession with undermining democracy and exalting himself as America’s first dictator. Much of that objective involved justifying the brutality of the rioters that he incited. From the start he portrayed the rioters as “patriots” and told them that he “loved” them. Despite voluminous video evidence of violence against people and property, Trump told Laura Ingraham of Fox News that his neo-fascist fanatics posed “zero threat.”

Trump is still peddling those pernicious and self-serving lies. The latest episode occurred Tuesday evening on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest (video below) where Trump did what he does best: Whine! He ranted for the full hour about his delusional claims that he won the “rigged and stolen” presidential election, insisting that the real insurrection occurred on November 3, 2020 (election day), not January 6th. And he complained about Congress having the gall to investigate the worst assault on the U.S. seat of government since the Civil War. He blathered that…

“Our country focuses on so many of these fake investigations and we don’t focus on greatness any longer. Everything is an investigation. You look at what’s going on now when you have an ‘Unselect’ Committee – it’s an ‘Unselect.’ And the way they’re treating people. And yet Antifa, who are bad…BLM…You look at all of the horror shows and the death and destruction they cause. And they don’t go after them. But they go after people that in many cases – not in all cases – but in many, many cases are patriots. And you had some bad people – if you look at what happened at the Capitol – you had some bad people that were not patriots at all. And they came from other places including Antifa and including others, and they led a lot of people astray. They don’t want to cover that. They don’t want to cover the election results.”

First of all, there wouldn’t be so many investigations if Trump and his confederates didn’t commit so many crimes. No president has had more administration and campaign associates indicted and convicted than Trump, who was impeached twice himself. And if he really wants to focus on greatness, he might consider the unprecedented success of the Biden administration that has accomplished more in ten months than Trump did in four years.

Trump also reaffirms his infantile temperament with his “Unselect” nickname, for the bipartisan House Select Committee, that would make an eight year old cringe. He further asserts that the criminals who stormed Congress are being treated poorly because they are being held accountable for their crimes.

What’s more, Trump’s complaint that the election results weren’t covered is really just his desperate yearning for his lies about nonexistent election fraud to be accepted, despite the utter absence of any evidence after nearly a year, more than sixty court cases, and the indefatigable efforts of the MyPillow crackpot, Mike Lindell, and Fox News.

However, where Trump really skids off the rails is with his defense of the rioters as “patriots” and his baseless assertion that the “bad people” were clandestine members of the fictional foils of the far right, Antifa. But while Trump and others of his ilk seek to falsely lay the blame for all civil unrest on Antifa, Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security concluded that it is right-wing extremists who pose the most risk of violence.

Trump’s ludicrous accusations against imaginary leftist agitators also contradicts much of what is claimed by his own supporters. Tucker Carlson, for instance, is convinced that it wasn’t Antifa but the FBI that orchestrated the January 6th insurrection. He even produced a lie-riddled, multipart crocumentary on the subject that he titled “Patriot Purge.” And Trump fanboy Alex Jones posted his own video confession that his orders for the insurrection came directly from Trump.

Given the rampant dishonesty and incoherent ramblings of Trump and his dimwitted disciples, it is impossible to take his latest spleen venting seriously. Not that that was ever considered by rational thinkers. But it is still unsettling to see him persisting with this line of asininity. And it is even more troubling to know that there are mental defectives like Carlson, Jones, and most of the Republican Party who continue to put their faith in Trump’s fever dreams.

Fox News Hack Peter Doocy Wages War on Thanksgiving, Press Sec Jen Psaki Slaps Him Down

This week Americans across the country will be gathering to celebrate the Thanksgiving holidays with their families. It’s a longstanding tradition that brings people together for feasts and fellowship. However, it is not without controversy. And like Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, and every other traditional holiday, Fox News is convinced that there is a war on it.

Jen Psaki, Fox News, Peter Doocy

This year, however, it is Fox News itself that has declared a War on Thanksgiving. And the first attack was launched in the White House Press Briefing Room by Fox’s own Peter Doocy:

Doocy: The President said today, he said that he was sent here to look out for these middle-class families who are strained right now. So what should they read into his leaving now at this time of great personal financial hardship for so many to go to Nantucket for the week?
Psaki: Well, first I would say, Peter, that I hope you’re spending time with your family. I’m spending time with my family. I hope everybody in here is spending time with their families. This is a time to put politics aside, spend time with your loved ones, and talk about what you’re grateful for. I will also tell you that spending some time with this President and with past presidents, that you are President no matter where you are.

So Doocy thinks that President Biden has to answer for his desire to spend Thanksgiving with his family? He thinks that it is somehow inappropriate for the President to celebrate the holiday the same way every other American does. And he thinks that Biden can’t perform his presidential duties wherever he happens to be. According to Doocy, if Biden congregates with his family he is failing his obligations to the nation.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki replied to Doocy’s asinine inquiry by gently shredding the whole premise of his question. Then she schooled him like child about how the modern presidency is not a job that must be tied down to a particular place. He is also ignoring everything that Biden is currently doing to address the financial hardships that people are going through.

What went unsaid is that if Biden had canceled his family’s holiday plans, Doocy would have asked why the President hates Thanksgiving. It hardly matters what the facts of any circumstance are, Fox News will endeavor to construct a question that attempts to make the President look bad. If Biden walked on water, Fox News would report that he can’t swim. If he cured cancer, Fox News would report that he’s putting doctors out of work.

The knee-jerk negativity of Fox News has no boundaries for ethics or honesty. If Biden got 200 million Americans vaccinated, opened up schools and businesses, reduced unemployment to 4.6%, restored the nation’s international reputation, and passed a historic infrastructure bill that prepared America for the future, created jobs, and mitigated some of the most harmful causes of climate change, Fox News would malign him as a mentally deficient socialist.

Oh wait. Biden did do all of those things, and Fox News does attack him for it. At least Fox is consistent with their factless bashing of all things Democratic and their ultra-rightist propaganda.

SAVE THE DATE: MyPillow Pinhead Mike Lindell is Organizing a Protest Against Fox News

This holiday season Americans will be busy visiting with friends and family and planning festivities for Christmas and New Year’s. It is a season full of joy and comradery and hope. But Mike Lindell, the MyPillow mogul who has become Donald Trump’s foremost election fraud flouting flunky, would like you all to keep open some time for another of his screwball circus acts.

Donald Trump, Mike Lindell, MyPillow

Lindell has announced that he is organizing a public protest against Trump’s Ministry of Disinformation, Fox News:

“We are going to do something out in front of Fox News, I think we should have – you know, if people want to go down there, maybe we should give out Frank Speech signs. [Fox News is] a big part of our country being taken from us.”

Based on the record of abject failure of Lindell’s previous media events, this demonstration promises to be an affair to dismember. It will rank up there with his “Absolute Proof” crocumentary, wherein he declared that he would provide irrefutable evidence that Trump won the election. His presentation was a spectacle of hyperventilating harangues and hothead hyperbole. The only thing it was missing was the “proof” part. Although it did earn him a hysterical disclaimer from OAN prior to airing it, and a place in the billion dollar defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems.

Lindell also staged a “cyber symposium” that likewise guaranteed confirmation of election fraud. But this event was so preposterous that even Fox News refused to accept advertising for it. As a result, Lindell pulled all of his ads from Fox. Which must have upset Tucker Carlson where MyPillow was his biggest – and pretty much last – advertiser.

Lindell isn’t the only right-winger who is angry with Fox News. Trump has been bashing them regularly, despite continuing to appear with devoted Trump-fluffers like Jeanine Pirro, Sean Hannity, Maria Bartiromo, Laura Ingraham, and Mark Levin. And with the release of Tucker Carlson’s horrifically anti-American diatribe, “Patriot Purge,” – that defends the violent January 6th StormTrumper riots in Washington, D.C. – many staunchly conservative Republicans, and even Fox News staffers, are distancing themselves from the network. NPR is reporting that…

[Fox anchors] Bret Baier and Chris Wallace, shared their objections with Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and its president of news, Jay Wallace. Those objections rose to Lachlan Murdoch, the chairman and CEO of the network’s parent company.”

None of the Fox executives responded to NPR’s request for comments. However, two longtime Fox contributors, Steven Hayes and Jonah Goldberg, did respond. They just resigned citing Carlson’s pro-insurrection piece as the last straw. And their resignations touched off a wave of support from other Fox regulars.:

  • Liz Cheney: “Thank you @stephenfhayes and @JonahDispatch for standing up for truth and calling out dangerous lies.”
  • Charlie Sykes: “Good.”
  • Adam Kinzinger: “This…. Leading by example. Nice job”
  • Bill Kristol: “Kudos to @stephenfhayes and @JonahDispatch for standing up to Fox, yelling Stop, at a time when few other conservatives are inclined to do so.”
  • Stuart Stevens: “Until @FoxNews commits itself to journalism, anyone who cares about democracy shouldn’t work there or advertise. Doesn’t really hold up to say ‘I support a channel because not every show is a racist attack on democracy, just the most popular'”

This exodus from Fox News may seem like a positive development that could impact their future editorial mission. But don’t count on it. The honchos at Fox don’t appear the least bit interested in slanting back toward sanity and/or reality. And CNN’s Jim Acosta articulated that in a succinct assessment of the state of Fox News:

UPDATE: The Fox News protest was, predictably, a total bust that drew about dozen Lindell flunkies.

Were Fox News and Tucker Carlson Directing and Bankrolling the Kyle Rittenhouse Defense?

The acquittal of the teenage vigilante, Kyle Rittenhouse, revealed some painful truths about the American justice system. Apparently a minor crossing state lines with an unlawfully possessed weapon to confront people protesting racial injustice, and killing two of them, is self-defense and perfectly legal. Hmm. Good to know.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

Right-wingers across the country are celebrating the pretend cop and medic, Rittenhouse, as a hero, despite his having murdered two unarmed men who were engaging in a lawful protest. Which is peculiar because when Ashli Babbitt was killed by an actual police officer while she was violently storming the Capitol, and threatening the lives of elected representatives and the Vice President, and trying to illegally prevent Congress from carrying out their constitutional duties, the same rightist politicians and pundits assailed it as an assassination.

However, an appearance on CNN by Rittenhouse’s attorney, Mark Richards, revealed something else that should raise serious concerns. Without any public disclosure, Fox News had abandoned any sense of of impartiality (as if they ever had any) by embedding itself with the Rittenhouse team days before the verdict. Even worse was that the reason Richards gave for granting Fox News that unprecedented access was to finance Rittenhouse’s defense. Richards made his remarks in the following exchange with CNN’s Chris Cuomo (video below):

Cuomo: Word that you guys had a film crew embedded with you from Fox News, from Tucker Carlson. I want to know why that decision was made.
Richards: I did not approve of that. I threw them out of the room several times…and I’m not suggesting that Fox or some other network…I don’t think a film crew is appropriate for something like this, but the people who were raising the money to pay for the experts and to pay for the attorneys were trying to raise money and that was part of it. So I think…I don’t want to say evil, but a definite distraction was part of it. And I didn’t approve of it, but I’m not always the boss.
Cuomo: Who were the people who were paying?
Richards: The people who were raising money. It was…this defense was crowd funded.
Cuomo: But who were the people making the calls about who got to have access to the process?
Richards: Kyle’s family and his adviser.

So while Tucker Carlson and the rest of the Fox News roster were lauding Rittenhouse as a paragon of White privileged, Second Amendment deliverance, they were also on the ground in Kenosha documenting their newfound protagonist and ratings magnet. And they were paying him for the privilege. Carlson began promoting his crocumentary within hours of the verdict, complete with Rittenhouse’s first post-acquittal reactions. “They’ve been there for days,” Carlson bragged, “putting together an installment of our Tucker Carlson Originals series on this case.” And he also announced that he would be airing the first Rittenhouse interview on Monday. How much do you suppose he paid for that? Carlson’s “Originals” was also responsible for his pro-insurrection propaganda piece, “Patriot Purge.” Or as CNN’s Jim Acosta called it, Proud Boy Porn.”

The revelations by Richards expose Fox News unethical participation in a propaganda campaign on behalf of an accused murderer while his trial was still in progress. And since the Rittenhouse family was getting paid by Fox, it’s fair to assume that there was agreement on how the case would be presented. What’s more, it raises additional questions about Judge Schroeder’s decision to ban MSNBC, a Fox News competitor, from the courtroom. How convenient was that?

The verdict in this case is going to result in people being “angry and concerned,” as President Biden said in his statement that also called for people “to express their views peacefully.” On the other hand we have Donald Trump telling Laura Ingraham on Fox News that…

“I don’t know Kyle. I watched him testify, which was very unusual that somebody would testify. I thought it was brave. I thought it was great that he testified.”

It’s cute that Trump thinks it is “brave” to testify, something that he refuses to do, or permit any of his accomplices to do. He won’t even allow the release of documents pertaining to his involvement in inciting the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. The only thing we can conclude from that is that Trump is admitting that he’s a coward.

Laura Ingraham’s Hysterical Dumbassery Shows Why Fox News Can’t Ever Be Taken Seriously

If there is one thing that Fox News has always failed at miserably, it’s comedy. Well, intentional comedy. They have actually been a fairly reliable source of unintentional laughs. That’s pretty easy with such mockable figures as Tucker Carlson (admitting that he doesn’t know WTF he’s talking about), or “Judge” Jeanine Pirro (competing with SNL for humor), or Peter Doocy (routinely humiliating himself).

Laura Ingraham, Fox News, Goofy

Now Laura Ingraham has elevated herself to the top of the spit(take) pile with a segment wherein she demonstrated how cognitively vacuous she is. Ingraham was hosting her frequent sidekick/guest, Raymond Arroyo, who is the “news” anchor of the Eternal Word Television Network. So right away you can expect a laugh riot. The subject was COVID vaccine mandates and Arroyo sought to make a point using a popular television program when hilarity ensued. Here is both the transcript and the video, but you’ve got to watch the video:

Arroyo: “I was watching an episode of “You” where measles came up.”
Ingraham: Wait, when did I mention measles?
Arroyo: I don’t know. It was on “You.”
Ingraham: What was on me? What are you talking about?
Arroyo: The measles and the vaccine episode was on “You.”
Ingraham: We never did a measles and the vaccine episode. Is this a joke?
Arroyo: I know. It was on “You.”
Ingraham: I’ve never had measles. What are you talking about?
Arroyo: It was an episode of a show.
Ingraham: What’s it called?
Arroyo: “You.” “‘You.” It’s called “You.”
Ingraham: I’ve never had measles. I just completely give up.
Arroyo: It’s a show called “You” on Netflix.
Ingraham: There’s a show called Laura Ingraham on Netflix?
Arroyo: Never mind. I’m moving on.

Is this Ingraham and Arroyo’s version of “Who’s on First”? Abbott and Costello must be rolling over in their graves – in hysterics.

While this video is comedy gold, it is also a reminder that Fox News should never be taken seriously. After all, if Ingraham is incapable of grasping the simple notion of a television show called “You,” how can she possibly be trusted to give a worthwhile analysis of epidemiology, or critical race theory, or economics, or foreign affairs, or climate change, or anything else?

Truth be told, Ingraham’s capacity to understand in this clip isn’t any worse than her understanding of any other subject she’s discussed on her show. And the same is true of Carlson, Sean Hannity, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. They all have the intellectual depth of Fox’s designated clown, Greg Gutfeld, and he isn’t exactly a candidate for Mensa membership.

Fortunately for Fox, their viewers are even lower on the scale of comprehension. That explains why they vote for Trump and Republicans like wannabe comedian Ted Cruz. It also explains why they are dying from COVID in far higher numbers than Democrats. So while there is humor in all of of this, there is also tragedy. What Fox News is doing to America isn’t really funny at all.

Fox News Edits Out White Nationalists in Article Pitting Fictional Antifa Against Trump’s America First

Last Friday Fox News deliberately and deceptively edited a video of President Biden to make it appear as if he made a racially insensitive remark. He didn’t. Fox News purposefully removed the part of Biden’s speech that provided the context and left the false impression. That’s not an uncommon tactic used by Fox to slander their political foes. And it happened again just one day later.

Fox News, KKK

On Saturday there was a protest at Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York City, ostensibly in opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Naturally, Fox News covered this event without disclosing that they impose vaccine mandates on their employees. But that wasn’t the worst part of this pseudo-journalism.

The story, as it currently appears on the Fox News website, features the headline, “Antifa members clash with anti-vaccine protesters outside NYC’s Gracie Mansion.” It’s opening sentence states that “Antifa radicals and anti-vaccine protesters appeared to clash Saturday night outside Gracie Mansion, the mayoral residence in New York City.”

However, that is a significantly different presentation from the story as it appeared when it was first published. Originally the article’s title was “Antifa members clash with White nationalists over COVID vaccine mandate outside NYC’s Gracie Mansion.” The URL for the article still reflects its original title referencing the organizers as White nationalists.

That wasn’t the only undisclosed edit. The original article began quite differently, stating that…

“Antifa protesters and a White nationalist group appeared to clash at an anti-vaccine mandate protest held outside of Gracie Mansion in New York City on Saturday night.”

“Far-right activist Nick Fuentes organized the protest against vaccine mandates outside of Gracie Mansion on Saturday night, where Antifa groups also showed up to confront his group, the “Groyper Army. The Anti-Defamation League considers the “Groyper Army” as a white supremacist group.”

None of that is the article in its current state. In fact, the words “white nationalist” are not in the current article at all. Nor is the reference to the “Groyper Army,” a group described by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as “a loose network of alt right figures who are vocal supporters of white supremacist and “America First” podcaster Nick Fuentes.” The White nationalist language also was preserved in an early tweet that Fox News posted to promote the article.

It’s also notable that the photo Fox News used in their promo was not taken at the Saturday protest. It is a stock photo that they have used many times when referring to Antifa.

Fox News, Antifa

The specter of Antifa is mentioned throughout the story. Never mind that Antifa does not exist. There is no such organization. There are no members, or leaders, or headquarters, or agenda, or logo-adorned hoods. At best it’s a loose affiliation of Americans who oppose fascism, like most Americans.

The original article cites the counter-protesters as being from “United Against Racism and Racism NYC.” That, however, was entirely removed from the story. Although the article does mention that Fox News attempted to get an official response, but that “A representative for Antifa did not respond to Fox News.” Perhaps that’s because it doesn’t exist or have any representatives.

This is a blatant example of Fox News manipulating their story, after the fact, to make it consistent with their editorial mission and their right-wing propaganda narrative. The original version connecting anti-vaccine activists – and Donald Trump’s America First thugs – to White supremacists could not be allowed to stand. But they apparently aren’t aware that the Internet preserves everything, including their dishonesty and disinformation.
