Trump Whines to Hannity that ‘Twitter is Now Very Boring’ Since He Got the Boot

One of the most satisfying consequences of Donald Trump’s defeat last November is that his subsequent desperation and lies led to his banishment from Twitter and other social media platforms. It’s been a relief to the nation not having to suffer through his bombastic incoherence every friggin’ day.

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

A recent study actually found that banishing Trump from Twitter resulted in a 73% reduction in misinformation on the Internet. That won’t surprise anyone who knows about his record setting 30,000+ documented lies.

Not one to let such an unprecedented record for dishonesty languish, Trump made yet another appearance on Fox News to lie some more. He invited Sean Hannity down to his Mar-a-Lago bunker for some soft-balling and arse-kissing. Part One of this “interview” was typically devoid of anything remotely newsworthy. But it did add more falsehoods to his file. And the same was true with Part Two that featured this smarmy opening from Hannity (video below):

You’re canceled off Twitter. You’re canceled off social media platforms. Now, you put out your presidential statements. They go viral. You know who misses you the most? The liberal media. The mob. They hardly ever see Joe, so there’s nothing really cover there. Except to cover when he falls down climbing the stairs.

Notice that a gushing Hannity still refers to Trump’s press releases as “presidential statements,” but to President Biden as “Joe.” That was followed by this fawning exchange:

Hannity: What is the answer? Is the answer anti-trust? Is the answer ending Section 230? Is the answer Donald Trump starts his own Twitter, Facebook, Instagram? Is that something you’re considering?
Trump: Well I think all of that. But I’m really getting the big word out because we’re doing releases. And every time I do a release it’s all over the place. It’s more elegant than Twitter. And Twitter now is very boring. A lot of people are leaving Twitter. Twitter is becoming very, very boring. You know, when I started with Twitter years ago, it was like a failed thing, concept, media platform. It was failed. And it became exciting. And I think I had a lot to do with it, to be honest with you. It became very exciting. And now it is boring. And it’s no good anymore.”

First of all, is it just me or is any else nauseated by Trump’s confession that “every time I do a release it’s all over the place”? More to the point, Trump is, as usual, delusional if he thinks his press releases are “elegant.” Likewise, his assertion that Twitter was a failed “thing” before he came along, and now it’s boring in his absence, is just more evidence of his acute case of malignant narcissism. And he is still pretending that he might start his own alt-Twitter (Qwitter?).

Hannity went on to ask Trump whether he saw “the undercover video” last week. He was referring to the latest pathetic attempt by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas to hype his alleged exposé of CNN. It was a pitifully lame interview in a bar with a low-level CNN techie who thought he was impressing O’Keefe’s female stooge. He had no managerial or decision making authority. And he revealed nothing of interest. But Trump and Hannity loved it anyway.

Trump closes by whining about Democrats, saying that “They lie, they cheat, they steal. They’re vicious.” Which is a pretty good description of himself and his Republican toadies. Then he spends his last few seconds crying and lying about having the biggest margin of vote increase ever. It’s just too bad for him that, in addition to being false, Biden got seven million more votes. Despite his best efforts to keep his chin up, he remains America’s Biggest Loser.

It’s really kind of surprising that these two don’t feel the least bit embarrassed by these bootlicking chats. They both come off looking sadly desperate and clinging to one another for support that is never forthcoming. Perhaps their cult followers in the Fox News audience are buying their schtick, but to the rest of the country they are a laughing stock. So maybe, inadvertently, they are doing us all a favor by volunteering to be disreputable clowns.

Racist Fox News ‘Comedian’ Bashes Biden for Promoting Inclusive Education

A few weeks ago Fox News debuted a nightly, primetime program that they thought would compete with Stephen Colbert or Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. Because what could be better suited for an alleged “news” network that is widely viewed as a joke? “Gutfeld!” landed with a thud as it’s brand of comedy was both mean-spirited and childish.

Fox News, Greg Gutfeld

The program has only gone downhill from there. Its host and guests appear to be devoted to lowbrow “humor” that callously attacks the underprivileged from the comfort of their ivory tower. Their most recent episode featured such specimens of hilarity as these swipes at President Biden (video below, if you have the stomach for it):

“He’s not sure if he is [President]. They installed the Waze app on his phone so he could find the west wing.” [and…]

“The only thing middle of the road about Joe is his hair, which resembles a crushed squirrel.” [and…]

“It’s only April and he’s swallowed more anti-American crap than Michael Moore’s septic tank.”

Comedy gold, isn’t it? Gutfeld began by maligning Biden’s mental acuity, something that the American people already assessed as superior to Donald Trump. Then he segued to a slam on Biden’s hair. Seriously! And naturally he winds up in the sewer, where Fox News and Republicans customarily reside.

However, the central focus of the segment was education. Gutfeld was appalled that the Biden administration is supportive of Critical Race Theory (that Trump tried to eliminate), and is pursuing an agenda that seeks to “incorporate teaching and learning practices that reflect the diversity, identities, histories, contributions, and experiences of all students.” Gutfeld condemned that noble and inclusive initiative saying that “it’s not an education they’re after, but indoctrination.” Indeed. You certainly don’t want to poison children’s minds with the notion that America benefited from its diversity.

As usual, Gutfeld is deploying a frequently used Republican propaganda tactic wherein they accuse their foes of what they are doing themselves. It was Trump who created a “1776 Commission” whose purpose was to indoctrinate children with what he called “Patriotic Education.” It was his reaction to the widely praised 1619 Project that aimed to make America’s historical curriculum more racially inclusive and accurate.

Thankfully, Biden revoked the report produced by Trump’s flagrantly biased commission. That commission and its report had already been rejected by historians as political propaganda. What’s more, Trump’s task farce had notable beginnings as Vladimir Putin’s “Patriotic Education” amendments to Russia’s education laws. So once again, Trump was taking direction from his mentor/boss. And Fox News is regurgitating it whole.

Desperate and Delusional Trump Resurrects the Zombie ‘Big Lie’ of Voter Fraud

STOP THE MADNESS! It seems that Donald Trump is still pining away in his Mar-a-Lago bunker, trying to convince himself – and any fractured soul who will listen – that he really did win the 2020 presidential election, despite the fact every analysis in every state by every political party proves otherwise. He simply can’t handle being America’s Biggest Loser.

Donald Trump, King

Now, three months after Joe Biden was inaugurated, five months after the election, Trump continues to cling pathetically to his warped version of reality. Upon having learned that a group of conspiracy crackpots succeeded in getting the Arizona Senate to allow them to conduct a recount of the Maricopa County votes, Trump weighed in with his usual impotent bombast. In a press release (since he’s been banished from most social media due to his promulgation of pathological lies), Trump wrote that…

“So many people would like to thank the brave and patriotic Republican State Senators from Arizona for the incredible job they are doing in exposing the large scale Voter Fraud which took place in the 2020 Presidential Election. Their tireless efforts have led to a massive recount, ballot examination, and full forensic audit, undertaken by experts retained by the State Senate, with results to be announced within six weeks.”

For the record, Trump’s loss in Arizona is not in dispute. There were two recounts that validated the results. The election board, consisting of four Republicans and one Democrat, certified the results. The “brave and patriotic Republican State Senators” Trump is referring to are actually just a gang of partisan thugs hoping to discredit the American electoral process. That’s a goal that Republicans share with Russian operatives who have been trying to do the same thing.

There is absolutely zero evidence of any voter fraud, large scale or not. And this recount isn’t going to find any using legitimate methods. Unfortunately, they don’t intend to use any legitimate methods. The firm hired by the Arizona GOP Senate is one that has been conspicuously involved in some of the most bizarre conspiracy theories circulating in Trump’s QAnon infested world. Rachel Maddow covered it in depth on Thursday night:

Trump went on to whine that Democrats had “sent 73 lawyers to Arizona in an effort to stop this recount,.” Which of course wasn’t true. But Democrats did file a motion to challenge it. Trump further claimed that the Arizona recount would eventually result in fraud being discovered in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Once again, he has no shred of evidence to support any of that. However, he was pleased that the recount would be covered live by the brazenly biased purveyor of propaganda, One America News Network (OANN).

Trump’s press release went on to criticize Arizona’s Republican governor, Doug Ducey, and the mostly GOP County Commissioners, who he alleged were all accomplices in the “scam 2020 Election” because, of course they are. And he insisted that “We must never allow this to happen to our Great Country again. [and that] I predict the results will be startling!”

Trump’s prediction is the surest way of knowing that the whole affair is corrupt. He certainly knows who the players are and has been given assurances that they will produce the outcome he wants. None of this, however, will change the outcome of the election. Biden will remain President and Trump remain pathetic. But it is just this sort of dishonesty that ignited the violence at the Capitol on January 6th. And Trump and his cronies seem to be anxious to have more of it.

Lethal Anniversary: Fox News Host Brags About a Year of Giving Deadly COVID Advice

The past year has been one that most Americans will recall as one of of the most unimaginable and unpredictable of their lifetimes. It’s a year that featured the devastation of a global pandemic, the dethroning of an aspiring dictator, the rise of a powerful civil rights movement, and innumerable alterations to the daily work and recreational activities that were once considered routine.

Fox News, Cov-Aid

However, there is one thing that remained remarkably stable during these surreal days of COVID. That’s the determination of Fox News to unrelentingly disseminate disinformation on behalf of the upper-crusty elites and power hungry right-wing politicos. And it was more than merely producing a constant barrage of flagrant falsehoods. The presenters on Fox News shamelessly doubled down on their deliberately dishonest propaganda, even when the truth was planted squarely in their faces.

Case in point, on Thursday evening Fox’s Laura Ingraham took her turn at contradicting the guidance of the nation’s health experts, including those at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This is partly why studies found that watching Fox News increased coronavirus fatalities. While Ingraham was maligning the learned opinions of epidemiologists and public health professionals, she was concurring with her utterly unqualified colleagues like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson.

What everyone at Fox News seems to agree upon is that the wearing of masks is not only unnecessary, but it’s potentially harmful and driven by a cabal of pharmaceutical companies, communists, and the same “Deep State” government operatives that stole the presidential election from Donald Trump.

It’s a downright diabolical plot by confirmed capitalists to keep the country locked down so as to crush capitalism. Don’t hurt yourself trying to make sense of that. And the same goes for what Ingraham said on her program Thursday night:

“For over a year this show has told you that, again, staying outside during COVID…is safe. And wearing masks outdoors, it’s now become a mental illness. and it’s brought on by the government’s worthless virtue signaling. And finally, some in the larger media and the medical community have begun to waken from their COVID slumber.”

That’s right. Ingraham is actually bragging that she has opposed the wearing of masks for over a year. Recall that last year at this time the coronavirus had resulted in about 42,000 deaths. So it was already a grim contributor to the suffering and grief of tens of thousands of American families. And Ingram is now taking pride in the role she played in increasing that death toll by over half a million (that’s 500,000 more).

What’s more, Ingraham continues to mislead her audience with admonitions against masks, despite the fact that the nation is still way below the needed percentage of vaccinated persons to achieve herd immunity, and COVID variants continue to emerge. And yet, she says that people who exercise caution and common sense are the ones who are mentally ill.

Finally, Ingraham seems to think that just because some doctors are beginning to revisit their guidance as vaccinations increase and transmissions decline, that they are waking “from their COVID slumber.” She apparently can’t comprehend the notion that prior guidance was justified by the facts at the time, and that new facts driven by the ever-changing science might produce new guidance.

This is especially true after a year has gone by wherein many Americans went to great lengths to behave responsibly. Now Ingraham and Fox News want to dismiss that sacrifice and risk reverting to a more perilous time by advocating for more ignorant and reckless behavior. That’s the lesson that Fox has learned after the past dreadful year. Ironically, this happens to be the one year anniversary of Donald Trump’s proposal to inject bleach as a means of treating the coronavirus. Perhaps Ingraham would like to revert to that.

Science has always been a challenge for Fox News and their viewers. They are far better able to absorb mindless buzzwords like “virtue signaling,” “cancel culture,” and a new one for the wingnuttery, “woke.” So Fox News regurgitates these manifestations of meaningless pop rhetoric while their cult followers consume it like colloquial candy. That’s how Fox keeps them addicted to the televangelism of Rupert Murdoch and the Trumpian Republican Party. And it’s how they put everyone else in the country – and the world – at greater risk.

Fox News Photo Provides Graphic Evidence of Their Racism and Fear Mongering

The reputation for rampant racism at Fox News has been well established over many years. Their top program hosts routinely disseminate the positions of notorious hate groups (see Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson), who reciprocate by expressing their admiration and support for those hosts.

Fox News, LeBron James, Maxine Waters

On Thursday morning Fox News provided additional evidence of their embrace of overt bigotry. On an article posted on their website, Fox attacked NBA all-star Lebron James for a tweet that they said was “inciting violence” against the Ohio police officer who shot and killed a 16 year old girl. The now-deleted tweet was posted shortly after a jury convicted Derek Chauvin, the Minnesota officer who murdered George Floyd (which Fox News twisted to accuse Democrats of advocating riots) The tweet said simply “Accountability. You’re next.”

Clearly James was referencing legal accountability for what appeared at the time to be another police shooting of a Black “suspect” when other less deadly options were available. The question as to whether or not this was an unjustified overreaction by this officer has been raised since video of the event was released. And James deleted his tweet to lower the heat generated by this controversial subject.

However, the question of Fox’s racism is unarguable. The photo (above) that accompanied the article was blatantly contrived to induce fear and to prejudice the viewer against “mad” Black persons in public life. Next to James, Fox News placed Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, a favorite target of Fox. Waters was similarly accused of inciting violence when she advocated that protesters be “confrontational,” which is actually what protests are about.

Neither James nor Waters ever incited violence (unlike Donald Trump and his Fox News shills). But both James and Waters were depicted by Fox News as ominous villains in order to frighten Fox’s audience that is already riddled with racial anxieties and prejudice. Fox News ran numerous segments on these subjects that they repeatedly – and falsely – described as “putting a target” on the backs of police. Which is an awkward turn of phrase considering the literal targets that police put on the backs of Black Americans.

Now Fox News is doing the same thing. Fox’s deliberate distortion of the comments by James and Waters, along with the photo intended to invoke fear, are proof positive of the right-wing network’s intent to spread racist memes to their millions of viewers. It is a despicable abuse of not-very-subliminal messaging to elicit hate. And it’s what Fox News has been doing since its inception.

Fox News Spins Vile Lie that the ‘Left Celebrates Chauvin Trial As Proof Riots Work’

In the wake of the guilty verdicts for George Floyd’s killer, Derek Chauvin, Fox News has been busy trying to construct narratives that align with their racist, right-wing mission. So when they aren’t falsely accusing Democrats of “inflaming tensions,” they are alleging that the trial was unfair and the jury was intimidated by “mob justice.”

Fox News, Laura Ingraham, Ron DeSantis

On Tuesday evening Laura Ingraham joined in the Fox News campaign to dismiss the the evidence, the witnesses, and the jury, to peddle her own theory that the verdict was tainted by threats of violence, despite the fact that none were made and that the jury never encountered any. Ingraham failed to explain how such a jury would have been swayed under those circumstances.

Nevertheless, Ingraham invited Florida governor, and fawning Donald Trump wannabe, Ron DeSantis, to discuss this manufactured topic (video below). The dialogue started out with this glaring reality distortion:

Ingraham: I talked about how the ‘Big Lie’ that was told over and over by activists, media types, and the President and Vice-President is that America at her core is a racist nation. Your thoughts on that continued repetition and drumbeat, especially as it affects young Americans.
DeSantis: I think it’s very damaging because it’s an attempt to delegitimize all the institutions in our country, starting with the Constitution. They denigrate the Founding Fathers, they denigrate everybody in society now. I think it’s very harmful.

First of all, Ingraham has been trying for several weeks to shift the definition of the “Big Lie” from Trump’s deranged insistence that he won the 2020 presidential election, to whatever morsel of bullpucky happened to be on her TelePrompTer at the moment. In this case she’s peddling a flagrant falsehood aimed at denying that there is systemic racism in America. DeSantis was happy to agree, while adding some preposterous charges that President Biden and others were attempting “to delegitimize all the institutions in our country.” Really? All of them? And that’s the charge they’re making as they are trying to delegitimize the judicial system?

The conversation just got worse from there. Ingraham played a video of a protester in New York City who had a righteous complaint about how Black Americans have suffered in a country that allows them to be killed by the law enforcement authorities that were supposed to protect and serve them:

“What we really have to be cognizant of is that it was a mixture of violence and nonviolent protest that yielded this result. That’s the bottom line. America doesn’t listen to us when we march peacefully. I’m not saying that people will be back in the streets, but America must know that if you continue to allow us to be murdered in the streets without justice, we will raise hell in America.”

However, rather than hear the justifiable grievances of this articulate young man, Ingraham chose to interpret his comments as threats of imminent violence. Which led to this exchange with DeSantis:

Ingraham: Governor, this isn’t stopping anytime soon, as he indicated. Violence, at least in part, worked in his view.
DeSantis: Well that’s really, really troubling, Laura, because if that’s what a lot of people think — I don’t know what happened with that verdict, but if that’s something that can potentially happen, where you basically have justice meted out because the jury is scared of what a mob may do — and, again, I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but that speaker seemed to suggest that that had an impact — that’s completely antithetical to the rule of law.

Once again, the jury had no exposure to these sort of comments, and they weren’t a part of the deliberations. Ingraham and DeSantis are purposefully belittling the abundant and damning evidence against Chauvin, including a video of his victim being murdered in real time. They are dismissing the testimony of witnesses, medical experts, and even the police chief who was Chauvin’s boss.

And if all of that weren’t enough, throughout much of the interview, there was a graphic on screen that read that the “Left Celebrates Chauvin Trial As Proof Riots Work.” Ingraham never even tried to support that disgusting allegation in the segment. Perhaps because there was no honest, coherent way to support it. It was simply left there to poison the weak minds of the Fox News audience.

No one on the left was celebrating the verdict, which was regarded as a solemn moment to reflect on the loss of lives. And no one on the left considers rioting to be a valid means of protest. Although some – like Rev. Martin Luther King – understand that, while it isn’t supported, “A riot is the language of the unheard.” And in this program Ingraham, DeSantis, and Fox News are demonstrating that they are dangerously deaf.

RAGING BULLSH!T: Tucker Carlson Hosts Candace Owens’s Rancid Post-Verdict Rant on Fox News

On Tuesday night Fox News presented another episode of Tucker Carlson’s White Power Hour. The program featured Carlson’s regularly scheduled incendiary and racist hostility, along with guest Candace Owens, who joined him to deliver a nauseating harangue on the guilty verdicts for George Floyd’s killer, Derek Chauvin.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Klan

Throughout the interview Tucker nodded approvingly (though still maintaining his resting confused a-hole face). And through much of the segment he played stock footage of burning buildings from Black Lives Matter protests last summer. Why? Because Fox News wants their audience to think that there were civil disturbances happening currently in response to the verdicts. It’s their way of inciting fear among their dimwitted and hateful viewers.

Carlson began his interview by belittling the verdicts that he claimed were the result of viewing “a murder case through the lens of politics.” “When you you get to that point,” Carlson warned, “haven’t you already given up civilization?” That’s a good question considering that it is Carlson who is forcing the case to be viewed through a political lens. And his idea of abandoning civilization is when his white supremacist authoritarianism is threatened. It’s not the first time that Carlson has equated the loss of white power to the end of civilization.

For her part, Owens contributed another of her aberrant, self-hating racial rants. It was a long, painful soliloquy of deranged hate mongering that utterly dismissed the verdicts and the entire trial that the whole country watched (except for Fox News viewers because they chose not to air most it). Owens started off with a bizarre allegation of “mob justice” which she is falsely attributing to the media, to citizens exercising their First Amendment rights, and even to the jury itself (video below).

“What we’re really seeing is mob justice. And that’s really what happened with this entire trial. It’s not a trial about George Floyd or Derek Chauvin. This was a trial about whether the media was powerful enough to create a simulation, decide upon a narrative absent any facts. Whether it was powerful enough to repeat showing and talking about a nine minute clip that came from somebody’s cell phone without adding any context. Without showing the full police video, which they refused to release.”

Owens is lying about the video not being shown in context with other video. There were numerous videos from multiple perspectives, including the body-cams worn by the police. She’s also dismissing the testimony of the eyewitnesses and the medical experts. She’s even dismissing the testimony of the police officers, including the Chief of Police, Chauvin’s boss. But she wasn’t through. She still had to malign Floyd personally and assassinate Floyd’s character:

“Let’s not forget this Tucker, the media came out and told us that this was a man who was just getting his life together. He was a good member of society and he got mixed up because a racist white police officer had it out for him and killed him. All of that fell apart. All of the facts came out and all of that fell apart. We now know, of course, that he had enough fentanyl in him – it was three times the lethal dosage. Three times the lethal dosage in him when he died.”

Now Owens is lying about the fentanyl. A toxicologist at the trial testified that the fentanyl in Floyd’s system was not enough to be fatal. He told the court that “Mr. Floyd died from a low level of oxygen, and this caused damage to his brain.” But Owens still wasn’t through. She went on to make some ludicrous charges about the motives of the media and Democrats:

“It now means the Democrats can get whatever they want because they can create a narrative and they can treat people like pawns and get people to basically say ‘If we don’t get what we want we will riot, we will loot, we will send people out like soldiers to destroy your neighborhood.’ And that has been exactly what has happened. That has been the determination of this trial. The media and the Democrats now have enough power to bully, to bully and to lie to, and to create propaganda and successfully win. And that’s what happened and they are celebrating that win today. This not a fair trial. No person can say this was a fair trial.”

It is peak audacity for Owens to blame Democrats for inciting riots (which they never did) after she defended the Trump Insurrectionists that attacked the Capitol on January 6th. They literally sent “soldiers” (armed Oath Keepers and Proud Boys) to assault and even murder members of Congress as they endeavored to carry out their constitutional duties.

Owens closes by falsely claiming that Democrats are “celebrating” the Chauvin verdicts. Virtually every prominent Democrat who has commented publicly has said that this is not a celebratory moment. It is a solemn occasion that must remain focused on the lives lost. And it is just the beginning of a struggle for equity and justice. And for Owens to baselessly charge that the trial wasn’t fair is – like Trump’s “Big Lie” about election fraud – a purposeful call to arms for more of the violence that produced the deadly Capitol riots.

WUT? Fox News Hypocrite Kayleigh McEnany Says ‘President Should Not Inflame Tensions’

The hypocrisy dial on Fox News has once again been turned up to eleven. On the morning of the day that a jury convicted Derek Chauvin for the death of George Floyd, talking heads on Fox News were struggling to find ways to divert attention from the trial to some contrived “offense” committed by President Joe Biden. It’s an obsession with these professional propagandists.

Kayleigh McEnany, Donald Trump

During a segment on Fox’s “Outnumbered,” their newest co-host, Kayleigh McEnany (Donald Trump’s former press secretary) took the lead in the Biden bashing. Her angle centered on remarks that Biden made regarding the Chauvin prosecution. “I’m praying the verdict is the right verdict,” Biden said, “which is — I think it’s overwhelming, in my view.”

Biden’s comments came following his phone call with members of the Floyd family, As Biden explicitly noted, he would not have commented publicly but for the fact that the jury had already been sequestered and could not be influenced. He also relayed the hopes of the family for “peace and tranquility” regardless of what the verdict was. It was a responsible and sensitive moment during a difficult time the family and the nation. McEnany, however, managed to find fault with Biden’s words

“We heard Judge Cahill go on to caution election officials and say ‘I urge you not to weigh in,’ hours before, half a day before the President himself weighed in. Look, I’m at least glad that he waited until the jury was sequestered, but I think that the country is such a tinderbox right now. Especially Minneapolis. There’s so much hurt, so much pain. And I think it’s the role of the President of the United States to stay back, to not inflame the tensions.”

Really? McEnany, who served as Trump’s White House mouthpiece, appears to be pretending that she never heard him speak. However, she was one of the most strident peddlers of the “Big Lie” that Trump was the real winner of the 2020 presidential election; that his victory was “stolen” from him; and that rampant fraud was committed by Democrats and the media. From election day until Biden’s inauguration she and Trump and most of the Republican Party and right-wing press were deliberately “inflaming the tensions” that led to the deadly Capitol insurrection on January 6th. But now she’s appalled by Biden’s compassionate comments about his conversation with the Floyd family.

It’s also notable that Trump notoriously weighed in on numerous trials wherein he lambasted everyone involved, including the judges and the juries. For instance, he went after the jury forewoman in the case that convicted Roger Stone, who Trump later pardoned. He attacked the judge in a case dealing with his fraudulent “university,” complaining that he could not possibly be unbiased because of his Mexican heritage. Trump also intervened on behalf of a Navy Seal charged with war crimes. And Trump has repeatedly attacked Supreme Court Justices. He once called for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign saying that her mind is shot.”

McEnany’s hypocrisy didn’t end there. She went on to briefly commend Biden for calling the Floyd family, but felt compelled to append praise for Trump for having allegedly done the same thing. However, in reality it wasn’t the same at all. Reports at the time reveal that Trump was less than sympathetic:

“According to Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, the conversation did not go well, as he said Trump gave him little chance to express his views and appeared to have no interest in what he was trying to say.

“‘He didn’t give me an opportunity to even speak,’ Floyd told MSNBC on Saturday. ‘It was hard. I was trying to talk to him, but he just kept, like, pushing me off, like ‘I don’t want to hear what you’re talking about.’”

When McEnany acknowledges that no one has been more disparaging of the judicial process than
Trump – when she can admit that Trump was the prime instigator of the riots in Washington, D.C. – and accepts responsibility herself – then she might be able to criticize Biden. Until then she should keep her mouth shut on this subject. Her opinion is hardly credible when it comes to inflamed tensions.

Trump’s Ignorance and Ego is Displayed in Loopy Lovefest With Hannity on Fox News

Three months after being banished from the White House, Donald Trump has finally emerged from his Mar-a-Lago bunker for his first on-camera interview. Naturally, he canoodled with his long-time love interest, Sean Hannity on Fox News. Hannity was typically starry-eyed as he lavished praise on Trump as “working harder than ever” [on what?] and lobbed childish insults at President Biden.

Donald Trump Sean Hannity

As has been the case with every other interview of Trump on Fox News, there was nothing newsworthy revealed. The questions were embarrassingly ingratiating and Trump’s replies were tedious regurgitations of his signature blend of whining and bragging (video below). “You’re gonna have the biggest tax increase you’ve ever seen,” Trump babbled. “Pro-life, second amendment, so many different things,” he insisted. But apparently he could only think of two. Then he segued to this mangling of history – and reality:

“Look, we got 75 million votes. That’s more than any sitting president in history by far. The word was that if we got 65 to 66 – we got 63 the first time and won. If you got 65 to 66 there was no way you lost. We got more votes – we got twelve million more votes than we got – and it’s never happened to another president.

“I don’t know if you know Sean, usually in a second term a president gets less votes. I got twelve million more. It’s the biggest that’s ever happened in history. From 63 to 75. Never happened before.”

Trump’s fascination with the election results is rooted in his desperate need to elevate his pitifully losing legacy. There is no truth – or coherence – to Trump’s assertion that “there was no way you lost” if you got 65 million votes. He obviously doesn’t grasp that the population of the country, and hence the potential vote count, is constantly increasing.

But even worse is his claim that no president has ever gotten more votes for a second term, or that his totals were “the biggest that’s ever happened in history.” For the record, every two-term president but one got more votes for their second term for the past half century:

Candidate 1st Term 2nd Term Difference
Nixon 31,783,783 47,168,710 15,384,387
Reagan 43,903,230 54,455,472 10,552,242
Clinton 44,909,806 47,401,185 2,491,379
Bush 50,456,002 62,040,610 11,584,608
Trump 62,984,828 74,216,154 11,231,326

Trump was not only lying about being the sole recipient of more votes for his second term, he also inflated the number of additional votes from about eight million to twelve million. And, of course, he completely erased the fact that Biden bested him by seven million votes (81,268,924). Biden’s enduring popularity is literally driving the right crazy.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to believe that he’s beloved by massive majorities of imaginary Americans. He thinks that he and his “Make America Great Again” agenda is essential for victories in 2022 and 2024, despite the losses of the White House and the Senate in 2020. What he still hasn’t absorbed is the reality that he lost the popular vote twice, never reached 50% approval in four years, was impeached twice, and remains the least popular president in history. But other than that, he’s real winner.

Ted Cruz Attacks Democrats for Holding Hearing on Racist ‘Jim Crow’ Laws that He Supports

Once again it has become necessary to set the record straight as to which American political party supports civil rights and which party is devoted to racial prejudice and oppression. It shouldn’t be that difficult to make the distinction considering that every prominent hate group in America is composed of people who are steadfastly Republican.

Ted Cruz, Racist

Texas Senator Ted Cruz is now helping to make the case that the Republican Party is the home of American bigotry. Upon learning that his Democratic Senate colleagues had scheduled a hearing to explore the rash of racist “Jim Crow” laws aimed at suppressing the vote of people of color in Texas, Georgia, and other red states, Cruz rushed out this tweet:

The problem with Cruz’s tweet is that he is clinging to a historical fallacy that bigots are fond of disseminating. He is pretending there was never a “realignment” of parties in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that saw Democrats embrace civil rights and Republicans embrace the Ku Klux Klan:

“The political realignment of black voters that began at the close of Reconstruction gradually accelerated in the early 20th century, pushed by demographic shifts such as the Great Migration and by black discontent with the increasingly conservative racial policies of the Republican Party in the South.”

The passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, with the vigorous support of Democratic President Lyndon Johnson, was the nail in the coffin for Southern racists who then abandoned the Democrats and registered with the Republican Party, where they still reside. Three of the four notorious racists Cruz cites in his tweet became GOP heroes. The one exception was Robert Byrd, who renounced the Klan and became such a dedicated fighter for civil rights that he was honored by the NAACP:

“‘Senator Byrd reflects the transformative power of this nation,’ stated NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous. ‘Senator Byrd went from being an active member of the KKK to a being a stalwart supporter of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and many other pieces of seminal legislation that advanced the civil rights and liberties of our country.'”

So Ted Cruz is not only demonstrating his pitiful ignorance of the history of his own party, he’s lashing out at Democrats who are seeking to advance equality and shine a light on those who are trying to clamp down on the Constitutional liberties of all Americans.

This is typical of a Republican bigot like Cruz, whose only concern is retaining power for himself and his kind. It’s made all the worse by how openly and shamelessly he engages in this campaign of oppression. And it’s all a byproduct of the Trump era’s efforts to mainstream racism and empower the hate mongers who comprise the Cult of Trump.
