Rev. Trump is Peddling His ‘God Bless the USA Bible’ to Pay His Judgments for Fraud and Rape

The messianic delusions of Donald Trump have been evident in many of his frequent declarations of divine infallibility, moral perfection, and insistence that only he is capable of saving mankind (see “Related Stories” below). Which is all the more bizarre coming from a pathological liar, who has five children from three wives, all of whom he cheated on; has been found civilly liable for sexual assault; never attends church and can’t cite a single Bible verse; and brags about grabbing women by their genitals.

With that record of a lifelong devotion to sacrilege, Trump is launching a new venture aimed at relieving the burdens of his recent legal tribulations, including at least 88 felony charges ranging from threatening election officials, to stealing classified documents, to inciting an insurrection, and civil judgments totaling more than half a billion dollars that he has no visible means of paying.

Trump’s latest grifting operation is a televangelist-style promotion of a Bible that is being pitched as “the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!” Someone needs to explain exactly what a Trump endorsement of a Bible means. Is it extra holy? Does it have Trump’s mugshot on the cover? Have all references to Jesus been replaced by Trump?

The Trump-branded Bible is a value added product that includes copies of secular political documents such as the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. Trump, of course, is getting a piece of God’s action in the same manner that he sold his superhero NFT cards and gaudy golden sneakers. You know, just like Jesus did.

The company selling the bibles is CIC Ventures LLC (likely stands for Commander-in-Chief) was established in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2021. The address given for the company is that of the Trump International Golf Club.

Trump posted a video on his failing Truth Social scam that is a tribute to the best tradition of American Snake Oil salesmen. In the video Trump decrees that “We must make America pray again.” Notice that this is not a suggestion that Americans pray, but a command to “make” them pray. And just to confirm his intention, Trump ordered his cult followers to commence proselytizing, saying that “I think you all should get a copy of ‘God Bless the USA Bible’ now and help spread our Christian values.” Then he elaborated…

“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country, and I truly believe that we need to bring them back and we have to bring them back fast. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country. All Americans need a Bible in their home and I have many, it’s my favorite book.” […]

“Christians are under siege, we must protect content that is pro-God. We love God and we have to protect anything that is pro-God. We must defend God in the public square and not allow the media or the left-wing groups to silence, censor, or discriminate against us. We have to bring Christianity back into our lives.”

Trump’s insistence that “All Americans need a Bible in their home” is blatantly contrary to the constitutional protection of religious freedom. He is essentially mandating state recognition of Christianity. And he underscores his anti-Americanism with ultimatums dictating what he calls being “pro-God,” but which surely excludes any belief that is not explicitly pro-Jesus.

Trump’s greed and blasphemous perversions are insulting to both Christians and non-Christians, as well as to American patriots who revere the Constitution. And they come from someone who is notoriously irreligious, and openly hostile to both the religious and political beliefs that he is pretending to advocate.

Trump recently said that Jews who vote for Democrats must hate their religion. And he has said the same thing about Christians. But what he really means is that anyone who votes against him is a heretic who hates his messianic movement. And the only path to salvation is buying his blessed merchandise and paying homage to him. Sadly, there are lost souls who have embraced this sick spirituality. Just there have been in cults from the past.
