Comedy Cop Marjorie Taylor Greene Reports Jimmy Kimmel to Capitol Police for Telling a Joke

Marjorie Taylor Greene has made a name for herself as perhaps the most deranged and extremist member of an already extremist right-wing Republican caucus in the House of Representatives. Her frequent, and often bizarre, tirades have fueled division and hostility. Which was clearly her intention. It’s why she was suspended from Twitter for disseminating disinformation.

Now Greene has appointed herself as the Chief of the Comedy Police on Capitol Hill. Revealing herself to be the flakiest of GOP snowflakes, Greene lashed out against late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel in response to a joke that she regarded as a threat. So she did what any red-blooded American goofball would do. She reported him to the police. For the record, this is joke that triggered “Empty” Greene:

“This woman, ‘Klan Mom,’ is especially upset with three Republican senators who said they’ll vote ‘yes’ on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who is nominated for the Supreme Court. she tweeted ‘Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for #KBJ.’ Wow. Where is Will Smith when you really need him?””

Greene was so perturbed by the nomination of an eminently qualified Black woman to the Supreme Court that she was compelled to viciously malign her Republican colleagues in the Senate. Here is Greene’s announcement of the police filing, and Kimmel’s succinct reply:

This would be good time to remind people that it was Greene who gave a speech advocating that Nancy Pelosi be executed as a traitor” Greene also complained about what she called Pelosi’s “gazpacho police” (she meant Gestapo).

And that was not the only time that Greene sought to associate Pelosi with Nazis. She previously compared the House rule requiring members to wear masks during the height of the pandemic to the Holocaust. Because protecting people from a deadly virus is exactly the same as murdering millions of innocent people by gas.

There is a stark irony about Greene reporting Kimmel to the Capitol Police. Her prior history with that law enforcement agency is fraught with hypocrisy and animus. She notoriously supported the deadly riots took place in Washington, D.C. on January 6th, where more than 140 officers were injured, and five subsequently died. And she was among 21 Republicans who voted against honoring the Capitol Police with Congressional Gold Medals because she objected to referring to the insurrection as an insurrection.

Now Greene wants the Capitol Police to protect her from the ravages of rampaging humor. And yet, somehow, she thinks that people should still take her seriously. Yeah, that’ll happen. Maybe after Kimmel slaps her – with a lawsuit for filing a false police report.

UPDATE: Kimmel replied to Greene’s probably phony police report in his Thursday night monologue. He files a phony police report of his own:

Liz Cheney: The ‘Supreme Dereliction of Duty’ By Trump Could Warrant Criminal Referral

With the ongoing horrors of the Russian genocide on Ukraine, it’s easy to forget the domestic horrors that are still percolating here at home. Although it’s been more than a year since Donald Trump incited deadly riots in Washington, D.C., the need for accountability has never diminished. Indeed, recent polls show – and Trump bizarrely brags – that 67% of Americans say that Trump is responsible for the violent January 6th insurrection.

Donald Trump, Prison

The House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection is continuing its exhaustive process of acquiring testimony and documentation of the crimes of Trump and others in his conspiratorial cabal. And Attorney General Merrick Garland said earlier this month that the Justice Department’s investigation won’t end until everyone is held accountable:

“Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that when it comes to politically sensitive investigations, the Justice Department does ‘not shy away from cases that are controversial or sensitive or political. To do that would undermine an element of the rule of law, which is that we treat like cases alike without regard to the subject matter,’ Garland told reporters in response to a question about the January 6 investigation.”

RELATED: Crybaby Trump Whines that ‘They Wanna Put Me in Jail’ – Just Because He’s a Criminal

So while it appears that the probe is dragging on interminably, there are also signs that the wheels of justice are turning and that the perpetrators will face consequences. That prospect was addressed during an interview with a Republican Committee member , Liz Cheney, on Meet the Press:

Chuck Todd: Should we expect criminal referrals on this? And should we expect something – how much new do you think the public will learn that will actually change the way they thought about January 6th?

Cheney: I think certainly our first priority is to make recommendations. And we see things like do we need enhanced criminal penalties for the kind of supreme dereliction of duty that you saw with president Trump when he refused to tell the mob to go home after he had provoked that attack on the Capitol.

So there will be legislative recommendations and there certainly will be information. And I can tell you I have not learned a single thing since I have been on this committee that has made me less concerned or less worried about the gravity of the situation and the actions that president Trump took and also refused to take while the attack was underway.

First of all, Todd’s question implies that the public needs to learn something new that will change their minds about Trump’s guilt. And while there’s always room for more, the majority of the American people are already convinced of of his culpability.

More to the point, Cheney’s response reveals that the Committee is collecting abundant evidence that could result in indictments. Her reference to Trump’s “supreme dereliction of duty” was not made casually. And her observance that the more information that comes out, the more Trump’s wrongdoing is apparent, cannot be providing Trump much comfort.

The January 6th Committee has compiled a massive amount of evidence and deposed numerous Trump insiders. They are building a strong case supported by first hand testimony and unimpeachable documentation, including untold hours of damning video. And while the pace is frustratingly slow, the direction is unambiguously toward conviction.

Nevertheless, the public needs to stay alert and continue to put pressure on the legal and political players who control the process. That’s the path to holding Trump and his seditious confederates accountable, and to achieve the righteous goal of justice: Lock Him Up!

WTF? Trump Brags that 67% of Americans Say He’s Responsible for the Violent January 6th Insurrection

The malignant narcissism of Donald Trump was observed years ago and documented by psychiatric professionals such as those who contributed to the book, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President.” And as the pressures of the civil and criminal investigations of his aberrant behavior have mounted, his condition has noticeably worsened.

Donald Trump Revolt

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Trump presented another exhibition of the severity of his psychoses. And in the depths of his egomaniacal obsession with drawing attention to himself it is clear that it doesn’t matter if that attention is driven by positive or negative news.

Consequently, Trump’s statement consisted of him boasting about a Pew Research survey showing that a significant majority of the American people blame him for the violence that took place during the January 6th insurrection as his rioting mob stormed the Capitol. The tweeted message noted that “Fewer Americans now say Trump bears a lot of responsibility for the Jan. 6 riot.” To which Trump appended that it was…

“Very much appreciated—but there would have been no January 6 had Nancy Pelosi, as strongly recommended by me, sent in Soldiers or the National Guard days before the event took place. She is in charge of Capitol Security—not the President. The Unselect Committee would have been able to work on another Hoax, Scam, or Witch Hunt had Nancy done her job. The Capitol would have been secure!”

Apparently Trump was comforted by the direction of the poll, despite the fact that it still found that a year after the acts of domestic terrorism in Washington, D.C., 67% of the respondents – including 41% of Republicans – said that he “bears some or a lot of responsibility for the violence and destruction committed by some of his supporters when they broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.” That really isn’t something to brag about. Particularly when the trend was mostly driven by Republicans softening their judgment of the event many months later. Or maybe what he’s bragging about isn’t getting the blame for the violence, but “credit” for it.

The fact that in the passing of time some Republicans moderated their view of Trump’s criminal culpability is a reflection of how the Party has devolved into a Trump worshiping cult. That transformation was affirmed by prominent members of both the Democratic and Republican parties, including Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell, and more.

Nevertheless, Trump continues to insist that he is blameless. And despite his rapidly progressing political impotence, he acts as though he has some overarching authority that permits him to order a halt to the investigations. And like every other criticism of him, he tediously dismisses it as either a “Hoax, Scam, or Witch Hunt.”

Trump’s assertion that Pelosi could have prevented the riots if she had taken his advice has been debunked repeatedly. And contrary to his claims, it is the president who is the commander-in-chief of the District of Columbia National Guard, not the Speaker of the House.

What’s more, Trump expects people to believe that he recommended to Pelosi that she call on the National Guard to protect Congress from his own supporters. Really? If he knew that his supporters presented a security risk, maybe he shouldn’t have told them to march to the Capitol, and then waited nearly three hours – while ignoring pleas from Pelosi, Pence, Sen. Chuck Schumer, GOP minority leader Kevin McCarthy, and even several Fox News hosts – before making a public statement wherein he told them that he loved them and politely asked them to go home.

Now, after Trump, Fox News, and other rightist propaganda dispensers spent a year propounding a false narrative absolving Trump of any liability, a majority of the American people still regard him as guilty of planning and inciting the insurrection. And in his diseased mental state he considers that something to celebrate. Seriously? That’s a cognitively contorted conclusion that only a confirmed malignant narcissist could muster.

Jen Psaki and (Future Speaker?) Hakeem Jeffries, Rebuke the RNC as the Republican National ‘CULT’

The Republican Party appears to be gaily goose-stepping its way toward the dustbin of history. Their seeming disregard for the enduring values that made America great – liberty, equality, and justice – is reflected in the daily demented ravings of their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, whose authoritarian aspirations are as pronounced as ever, despite his rapidly evolving irrelevancy.

Donald Trump, Fox News, QAnon

Trump has been reduced to petulantly whining about being investigated for his many crimes, and impotently issuing orders that are being resoundingly ignored. And yet the Republican Party continues to embrace him as their political messiah.

To that end, the Republican National Committee (RNC) lashed out at a couple of their own members that were deemed to be insufficiently worshipful of Master Trump. Longtime rock-ribbed conservatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were unceremoniously drummed out of the Party’s good graces for their roles on the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection. They were formally censured by the RNC, whose chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, condemned them because they had the audacity to “engage in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse.”

“Legitimate political discourse?” That’s what the GOP is calling the deadly riots on January 6th by “ordinary citizens” (aka StormTrumpers) attempting to prevent Congress from carrying out its constitutional duties. The abhorrent absurdity of that characterization did not go unnoticed by the decent denizens of Washington. Foremost among them was Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Following the RNC’s announcement of the censure, he spoke to reporters pointedly noting that…

“The ‘C’ in RNC doesn’t stand for committee, it stands for cult. It’s not the Republican National Committee. It’s the the Republican National Cult. That is the only way you can explain how the Grand Old Party would come to the conclusion that people who engaged in rampant mob violence, urinated, defecated, desecrated the Capitol, brutally beat up police officers, seriously injured more than 140. Police officers lost their lives as a result of the events on January 6th and the cult says that it’s ‘legitimate political discourse?’ They come to that conclusion because they continue to bend the knee to the twice impeached so-called president, Donald Trump.”

Jeffries is not the first to recognize the cult behavior of the GOP. But he is one of the highest ranking government officials to articulate it publicly and with such flair. His comments were picked up later the same day in the White House press room when a reporter asked Press Secretary Jen Psaki for the President’s reaction. That led to the following exchange…

Reporter: What are your reactions to the RNC declaring what happened on January 6th as “legitimate political discourse,” and Democrats on the Hill being very vocal about this. Hakeem Jeffries said that “The ‘C’ in RNC stands for cult.” Does the White House agree with that?
Psaki: I think it’s clear to Americans that what happened on January 6th was not “legitimate political discourse.” Storming the Capitol in an attempt to halt the peaceful transition of power is not “legitimate political discourse.” Neither is attacking and injuring over 140 police officers, smashing windows and defiling offices. It’s telling to us that some leading Republicans have rejected that characterization.”

Among the “leading Republicans” that Psaki referred to are Trump’s vice-president, Mike Pence, and the GOP Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell. Both have recently been targets of Trump’s wrath that is throwing the Party into disarray. Last week Pence told the ultra-rightist Federalist Society that “Trump is wrong” about Pence being able to overturn the election, and that “there is no idea more un-American.” And Trump blasted McConnell as an “old crow” for not backing his attempted coup.

In response to reporters’ questions about the RNC’s twisted definition of “legitimate political discourse,” and the censure of Cheney and Kinzinger, McConnell said that…

“We saw what happened. It was a violent insurrection with the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next. That’s what it was. […] This issue is whether or not the RNC should be sort of singling out members of our party who may have different views from the majority. That’s not the job of the RNC.”

Without saying so explicitly, McConnell effectively affirmed Jeffries’ rendering of the Republican Party as a cult. There is simply no other explanation for an organization that adheres to a such bizarre belief system, rooted in violence and tyranny, and in defiance of all reason and rationality.

Also observing the cultish descent of the GOP was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who told reporters at her weekly news conference that…

“The Republicans seem to be having a limbo contest with themselves to see how low they can go. They seem to have reached rock bottom with their statement that what happened on January 6th was legitimate political discourse. […] I say this to Republicans all the time: Take back your party from this cult.”

In a cult there is only one authority. You must believe the cult leader no matter what your own eyes and ears may tell you. And everyone else is lying to you. That’s the Trump doctrine. And the Republican Party is fully on board. The question is, how long can such a political party endure with a platform that removed from reality?

YIKES! Donald Trump has Degenerated to Dishing Out Impotent Orders that Are Laughably Deranged

Anyone who has been paying attention to the mental state of Donald Trump could not help but have noticed a severe decline in cognitive capacity. Not that he started off particularly high on that scale. In fact, even a Fox News poll taken before the 2020 election found that most Americans said that Trump doesn’t have the mental soundness to serve.

Donald Trump

Despite his obvious failings, Trump was proud of being able to pass a test wherein he was asked to identify a camel and count to ten. He was so proud that in an interview on Fox News he bragged about being able to recite the words “person, woman, man, camera, TV.” Who can forget…

That unparalleled feat, along with his demonstrated inability to drink water, walk down a ramp, or read, offer a pretty pathetic presentation of a man in serious psychological distress. And if any further evidence was necessary, Trump provided it himself on Monday with a statement he released via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill:

“There would have been no January 6, as we know it, if Nancy Pelosi heeded my recommendation to bring 10,000 Soldiers, or the National Guard, into the Capitol. End the Unselect Committee January 6th Witch Hunt right now. Pelosi and the Dems are responsible!”

Poor Donnie Trump thinks that he can demand that Congress halt the investigation of his criminal acts. He is driven by a fear that is palpable. Never mind that the House Select Committee (which he childishly nicknames “unselect”) has been accumulating abundant and incriminating documentary evidence and testimony against him. Is there no one in his inner circle that would tell him that his impotent orders will surely be ignored and ridiculed?

This isn’t the first time Trump has tried to pass off this distortion of reality. For the record, Trump’s assertion that Pelosi refused his alleged recommendation to call out the National Guard to quell his insurrection has been debunked repeatedly for more than a year. Not only is Trump’s claim false, he actually disregarded the violence at the Capitol for 187 minutes while Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer, GOP minority leader Kevin McCarthy, Vice-President Mike Pence, and even several Fox News hosts desperately pleaded for Trump to call off his marauding mob. Three hours later he finally released a video asking them ever so gently to go home and telling them that they were special and he loved them.

It’s the investigation into that dark day in the history of Congress that Trump thinks he can order to be halted. But his whining won’t do him any good. It just makes it clearer that he is devolving into a parody version of himself. And that version was further affirmed by a couple more “demanding” tweets on Tuesday morning.

First, Trump demanded that Joe Rogan has “got to stop apologizing to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs. […] don’t let them make you look weak and frightened.” That’s typical of both Trump’s aversion to warranted apologies, and his support for overt racism.

Second, Trump repeated his demand to boycott AT&T and DirecTV. “It is a very popular channel,” he lied. “If you feel infringed by what this Communist movement is doing, cancel DirecTV!” Trump is so far gone that he thinks that the international mega-corporation, AT&T, is part of a “Communist movement.”

Trump’s continuing attacks on AT&T/DirecTV for dropping his darling One America News Network (OAN) affirm his position as the undisputed King of Cancel Culture. Except that no one appears to be paying any attention to his bitchy boycott bulletins. None of his targets have suffered in the slightest. In fact, his unhinged wrath is probably helping them attract more customers. It is notable that he has called for a boycott of AT&T in the past, without any discernible impact. The same goes for his unheeded decree to quit Twitter.

Trump’s antics are likely to put some comedians out of work because it isn’t possible to come up with anything funnier than what Trump does and says when left to his own dementia. That, however, doesn’t mean that we can just sit back and laugh. We must continue to defend democracy and American principles. Because Trump and his cadre of cross-eyed cult followers are still capable of – and devoted to – causing more self-serving trouble and significant harm.

Trump Whines that the January 6th Committee Won’t Investigate Pelosi and Imaginary Voter Fraud

Donald Trump is on a “sleazebag” jag, calling everyone what he knows that he is. On Wednesday it was CNN president, Jeff Zucker. Today it’s all of the members of the House Select Committee (that he refers to childishly as the “Unselect” Committee) investigating the January 6th insurrection.

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

In the past Trump has thrown the “sleazebag” label at Republican Sen. Ben Sasse, Rep. Jerry Nadler, FBI Director James Comey, and Chief of Staff of the Department of Homeland Security (and author of the notorious “Anonymous” exposé), Miles Taylor. He uses this all-purpose epithet so frequently because he has the vocabulary of seven year old.

On this occasion Trump was venting his outrage at the bipartisan January 6th Committee because he is writhing in fear of the progress they are making accumulating documents and testimony that could lead to indictments for his many crimes. Trump began his tweeted rant saying that…

“Why isn’t the corrupt Unselect Committee of political hacks and highly partisan sleazebags in Washington investigating the massive voter fraud and irregularities that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election, rather than spending all of its time investigating those who were protesting its result? It was the Crime of the Century! Large-scale proof of fraud and serious irregularities exist all over the place.”

If there were “massive voter fraud and irregularities” in the 2020 Election, and “Large-scale proof of fraud,” why hasn’t Trump or his legal team produced any of the evidence after more than a year and sixty court cases? Maybe because there isn’t any such evidence. To the contrary. there is abundant evidence of his guilt, some which he is providing himself. Trump also asked…

“Why is Crazy Nancy Pelosi and her files, which reportedly have been largely destroyed and deleted, not under investigation for not properly securing the Capitol with Soldiers or the National Guard that were strongly recommended to her by me and others?”

Trump’s assertion that Pelosi “refused” his recommendation to call out the National Guard has been debunked repeatedly for more than a year. Not only is Trump’s claim false, he actually ignored the violence at the Capitol for 187 minutes while Pelosi, Sen.

Of course, Trump concluded by insisting that he wasn’t “responsible for anything,” as he always does. For the guy who sat behind the Oval Office desk where the “buck” is famously said to stop, Trump rejects any responsibility for the harm he’s done to the nation as result of his negligence, incompetence, and deliberate malfeasance. But the American people know who is to blame.

Trump Publicly Confesses to Coup Attempt in Tweet that Pence ‘Could Have Overturned the Election’

Throughout most of his life, Donald Trump has bragged about his allegedly superior intellect and judgment. As President he claimed to be a “stable genius” who knows more than generals about war, more than economists about the economy, and more than doctors about healthcare. The American people – according to a Fox News poll – didn’t agree.

Donald Trump, Constitution

However, if anything puts to rest Trump’s terminally narcissistic impression of himself, it is his latest deranged outburst regarding the election that he lost and his efforts to subvert democracy and coronate himself an American king. In a tweet posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Trump raged that…

“If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had ‘absolutely no right’ to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election? Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and they now want to take that right away. Unfortunately, he didn’t exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!”

To the surprise of no one, Trump has utterly misunderstood the law and what a bipartisan effort in Congress is engaged in. The fact that members of both parties are joining together to draft a clarification of the Electoral Count Act of 1887 only affirms the broad-based consensus that Trump’s actions have been deemed dangerous and warrant a refinement of the legal language to prevent future misrepresentations of what the law already says. Which is that the vice-president’s role is strictly ceremonial and that he has no power to “change the Presidential Election results” or to “overturn the election.” Furthermore, the 12th Amendment to the Constitution stipulates that the vice-president is only authorized to open the certificates of the votes provided by the states and to announce the results.

What Trump has provided in his statement is a public confession of his conspiracy to stage a coup and to usurp the power of the presidency by unlawful means. It’s a plot that he tried to execute by force with his support for January 6th insurrection and the insurrectionists he said that he loves. He even promised to pardon the domestic terrorists who assaulted Congress, and presumably those who might commit such assaults in the future.

This isn’t the first time that Trump has lied to bully the Vice-President into joining his treasonous plot. In a couple of his last tweets before being banned from Twitter, Trump wrote that “If Vice President @Mike_Pence comes through for us, we will win the Presidency,” and that “The Vice President has the power to reject fraudulently chosen electors.”

None of that is true. And even if it were, Trump hasn’t thought it out very well. His misinterpretation would mean that Vice-President Kamala Harris could decide unilaterally who would become president after the 2024 election, regardless of the vote count. That’s something the “stable genius” failed to consider.

Trump, however, has an even bigger problem. His tweeted statement is yet another affirmation of his participation in an attempted insurrection. And the Constitution – which he certainly has never read – addresses that in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment:

“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

In short, Trump’s confession prohibits him from ever serving in any government office. The Constitution unambiguously bars him from running for, or serving as, president again. And that’s just the beginning of his problems. After spending the last year trying unsuccessfully to suppress his White House documents, he has now provided prosecutors with the final piece of the evidentiary puzzle needed to indict him and his accomplices for his coup attempt and for conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government. Now it’s just up to the Justice Department to do its job.

UPDATE I: Jen Psaki steps up and condemns Trump “whose actions have represented a unique and existential threat to our democracy,” and are “a reminder of how unfit he is for office.”

UPDATE II: Trump doubles down on his confession. In another tweet he attempts to elaborate on his assertion that Pence had the right to reject the state-certified vote counts. But all Trump is doing is reiterating his intent to illegally overturn the election results, subvert democracy, and violate the Constitution. He’s just getting himself in deeper.

Crybaby Trump Whines that ‘They Wanna Put Me in Jail’ – Just Because He’s a Criminal

On Saturday Donald Trump headlined another of his COVID-Palooza Cult Rallies. As usual, it was a live regurgitation of his tedious playlist of pet peeves. He covered all of his greatest fits from the past: the leftist media, locking up Hillary Clinton, trivializing the pandemic, the border, etc. ad infinitum.

Donald Trump, Prison

One subject upon which Trump focused was the cornucopia of criminal cases that are accumulating against him and his crime family. He is presently being investigated by the Attorney General of New York, the Manhattan District Attorney, the Washington, DC Attorney General, a special Grand Jury in Georgia, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. That’s quite a portfolio of potential felonies.

RELATED: Fearful Trump Lies About January 6th Committee ‘Witch Hunt’ in Pathetic Attempt to Hide His Crimes

Naturally, Trump is displaying the snowflakery for which he is so well known. He just can’t stop sobbing over his victimhood. And in his remarks at the MAGA meetup Trump unloaded his fear and desperation on the assembled attendees, saying that…

“For years they’ve been going after my company. Many years. They’ve been using every trick in the book to literally, if they can, put me in jail. They wanna put me in jail!”

Indeed they do. Because that’s precisely what prosecutors are paid to do – put lawbreakers in jail. The fact that there have been years of such efforts isn’t the criticism that Trump perceives it to be. To the contrary, it affirms that he has been skirting the fringes of criminality for a long time, and getting away with it due to his privileged status and wealth. But he wasn’t through moaning over his imagined misfortunes. he continued saying that…

“If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protests we have ever had in Washington, D.C., in New York, in Atlanta, and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt.

“Racist”? Is Trump alleging that the prosecutors are persecuting him because he’s an underprivileged white billionaire? While that is technically a minority, it is hardly a class of people suffering from discrimination. Unless you count being segregated into luxury hotels and exclusive golf resorts as discriminatory. “Radical” and “vicious” are typical of Trump’s paranoid characterization of any criticism of him. But “racist” stretches the boundaries of his psychotic wrath.

RELATED: WATCH: Alex Jones Says His Orders for the January 6th Insurrection Came from Trump

Furthermore, Trump is still using the sort of hostile rhetoric that resulted in the assault on Congress that he and his confederates instigated. He is inciting his StormTrumpers to mobilize again if he is indicted for any of the many crimes he has committed. He is unambiguously urging his disciples to take actions that will almost certainly devolve into more of the domestic terrorism that he purposefully provoked last year. It’s what he wants. He even sweetened the deal by floating the possibility of pardons for those who engage in such violence – past and future:

“If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons we will give them pardons.”

Trump is providing patriotic Americans with more reasons to vote against him and any of his cadre of conservative crackpots. The prospect of his occupying the White House again may be the best motivation for Democrats, and democracy loving independents and Republicans, to turn out in 2022 and 2024. Because based on what Trump actually says, the alternative could be the last free election in America.

UPDATE: “Trump is facing a total of 19 legal actions … Most of the cases fall under three themes: financial wrongdoings that made him more money; his role in the January 6 2021 insurrection; and his alleged interference in the 2020 election.”

IT’S A DISGRACE! Trump is Terrified that the Jan 6 Insurrection Committee Wants Ivanka to Testify

Last week was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week for Donald Trump. It began with his favorite propaganda outlet losing it’s biggest distributor. DirecTV announced that they would cease to carry the One America News Network. The Trump-fluffing, conspiracy spewing OAN derived the vast majority of their revenue from DirecTV and this development puts its future in jeopardy.

Donald Trump Sweating

However, Trump’s legal woes were even more catastrophic. The Supreme Court rejected his request to keep his records secret. The New York Attorney General took action to force his testimony in the real estate and tax fraud case. A Georgia district attorney impaneled a special grand jury to probe his efforts to intimidate state officials to overturn their election results. And a bunch of his StormTrumpers (aka Oath Keepers) were indicted for seditious conspiracy for their roles in the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C.

Further unsettling Trump’s already unstable mental state, is that the House Select Committee investigating January 6th made a formal request for Trump’s daughter Ivanka to testify before the panel. According to CNN the request “revealed explosive new details about the former President’s actions in the days leading up to and on January 6.”

So naturally, Trump has lashed out against the Committee, which he has been doing for weeks. This time his wrath came in an interview with the ultra-rightist Washington Examiner, Trump raged that…

“They are using whatever powers they have. They couldn’t care less. They are vicious people. [and that] It’s a disgrace, what’s going on. They’re using these things to try and get people’s minds off how incompetently our country is being run. And they don’t care. They’ll go after children.”

Trump went on to assert that the investigations against him set “a very bad precedent because it can happen the other way also.” That was a thinly veiled threat aimed at Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden.

For the record, Ivanka Trump is hardly a child. She is a 40 year old businesswoman who held the post of White House Counselor to the President (her father) for four years. She was an eyewitness to Trump’s activities before, during, and after the riots at the Capitol. Her testimony is unquestionably relevant, and her evasion creates suspicion. She is only being asked to provide her account of what happened, and she is not being charged with anything (yet). On the other hand, Trump is threatening Hunter Biden (who has has never had a political job) with criminal prosecution for allegations that have already been investigated.

As usual, Trump’s protestations reflect his fears. The guy who used his office to plot an anti-democratic coup is complaining that Democrats “are using whatever powers they have.” And if Democrats were using all of their powers they would already have had their Attorney General indict Trump, or fired him and appointed an acting Attorney General to do it.

Unlike Trump, Democrats are using their powers legally and in full public view. And as for trying to “get people’s minds off” of other matters, that’s precisely what Trump is doing with this outburst. He doesn’t want people to pay any attention to the avalanche of devastating disclosures that are burying him and his crime family. It is a tactic that he resorts to any time he is in trouble and afraid. Which lately, is almost all the time.

GOP Pipsqueak Madison Cawthorn Imagines that Rhodes Scholar Rachel Maddow is Afraid to Debate Him

There is an epic battle brewing on the InterTubes between a freshman Republican congressman and a seasoned political broadcaster that threatens to leave one of them in shreds. Were this a title match in professional boxing the bout would be called off by the refs to prevent a mauling.

Rachel Maddow

Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn took the ill-advised step of taunting MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow after receiving an errant email that he totally misinterpreted. The email was sent by a producer for the The Rachel Maddow Show to an NBC News colleague, but was mistakenly cc’ed to Cawthorn. The producer asked the colleague to contact Cawthorn’s office for a comment because s/he was…

“…a little worried that if we did inquire he might ask to come on and explain. I know that is HIGHLY doubtful, but don’t want to take that risk.”

Copying Cawthorn’s office on this email was an unfortunate mistake. But Cawthorn’s conclusions as to its meaning are hysterically misconstrued. He, and much of the right-wing Twitterverse, have taken it to mean that Maddow is afraid to debate him.

Seriously? Cawthorn is a first-term representative from North Carolina. He was a D student in college until he dropped out. And he now encourages others to also quit because he says that schools are a scam.

Maddow, on the other hand, is a Rhodes Scholar and an experienced political analyst and communicator. Any intellectual contest between them would be a blood bath for little Madison. But that appears to be what he’s yearning for, based on this tweet…

The subject of the proposed debate would be a challenge just filed by a group of North Carolina voters asserting that Cawthorn should be disqualified from running due to the constitutional prohibition of candidates who have engaged in insurrection against the United States. Cawthorn’s speech at Donald Trump’s January 6th rally that preceded the insurrection at the Capitol, as well as his baseless and anti-democratic objections to the 2020 presidential election, form the basis for the legal challenge.

Cawthorn told Fox News that…

“Fake news MSNBC doesn’t want to ‘take the risk’ that I’ll come on their show and trigger the left with my America First message and burst their woke dystopian bubble.

The only thing that the left would be “triggered” to is uncontrollable laughter. Cawthorn demonstrates his cognitive deficiencies in that statement by regurgitating tedious wingnut slogans about “fake news” and “woke dystopian bubbles” (whatever the hell that is).

Cawthorn’s belief that Maddow is afraid to debate could land him in a torrent of trouble. First of all, it wasn’t Maddow who said anything about a “risk” of having Cawthorn on her program. It was a producer who was likely more concerned about booking a known liar who contributed to inciting the riots in Washington, D.C.

For her part, Maddow probably wouldn’t want to waste airtime on this mental munchkin. But if she did she’d have no trouble disposing of him. And it would almost be worth the “risk” of sitting through a televised slaughter to watch her do it.
