Wannabe Messiah Trump Un-Blesses ‘America First’ Loser Mo Brooks for Big Lie Blasphemy

There are two characteristics of Donald Trump’s alleged personality that are eminently predictable: 1) He is obsessively fixated on himself and his own self-interest, and 2) He demands unflinching loyalty from others to the point of virtual worship.

Donald Trump Messiah

Trump demonstrated both of these textbook narcissistic traits on Wednesday when he petulantly announced that he is revoking his endorsement of Mo Brooks for the Senate in Alabama. The retraction naturally came in the form of a tweet posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Liz Harrington. He aged that…

“Mo Brooks of Alabama made a horrible mistake recently when he went ‘woke’ and stated, referring to the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, ‘Put that behind you, put that behind you,’ despite the fact that the Election was rife with fraud and irregularities. If we forget, the Radical Left Democrats will continue to Cheat and Steal Elections. Just look at what is happening in Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and elsewhere, but tremendous progress has been made that will help us in 2022 and 2024. The 2020 Election was rigged and we can’t let them get away with it.”

RELATED: Liz Cheney: The ‘Supreme Dereliction of Duty’ By Trump Could Warrant Criminal Referral

Poor thing. Trump must have been so crushed when Brooks betrayed him by turning “woke.” Never mind that this betrayal wasn’t actually “recent” at all. Trump is referring to remarks Brooks made seven months ago. And he hardly diverted from Trump’s “Big Lie” because shortly after saying that people should look forward to 2022 and 2024, he described himself as a candidate who will become “a Senator who fearlessly fights Socialist Democrat voter fraud and election theft.”

But it was too late. Trump will not tolerate any concession that the future should take precedence over his obsession with the past and his humiliating loss to Joe Biden in 2020. Even his Fox News flunky, Stuart Varney, couldn’t pull him off of that ledge. And for an election that he says “was rife with fraud and irregularities,” he has been pitifully incapable of producing any evidence of it. But Trump wasn’t through venting. He continued saying that…

“When I endorsed Mo Brooks, he took a 44-point lead and was unstoppable. He then hired a new campaign staff who ‘brilliantly’ convinced him to ‘stop talking about the 2020 Election.’ He listened to them. Then, according to the polls, Mo’s 44-point lead totally evaporated all based on his ‘2020’ statement made at our massive rally in Cullman, Alabama. ‘When I heard his statement, I said, ‘Mo, you just blew the Election, and there’s nothing you can do about it.’ Very sad but, since he decided to go in another direction, so have I, and I am hereby withdrawing my Endorsement of Mo Brooks for the Senate. I don’t think the great people of Alabama will disagree with me. Election Fraud must be captured and stopped, or we won’t have a Country anymore. I will be making a new endorsement in the near future!”

In that tirade Trump actually revealed the real reason he is dumping Brooks: “Mo’s 44-point lead totally evaporated.” Trump’s ego can’t handle his being caught supporting a loser. And Brooks is currently trailing his opponents by double digits. As a reminder, this is the rabid America Firster that Trump hailed with passionate praise, saying that…

“Few Republicans have as much COURAGE and FIGHT as Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks. Mo is a great Conservative Republican leader who will stand up for America First no matter what obstacles the Fake News Media, RINOs, or Socialist Democrats may place in his path.” […] Mo Brooks has my Complete and Total Endorsement for the U.S. Senate representing the Great State of Alabama. He will never let you down!”

RELATED: TRUMP: Me Me Me Me Me, Lies about NATO, Me Me Me, Biden Sucks, Me Me

Sadly, Brooks did let Trump down. And he proved that Trump’s “Complete and Total Endorsement” is neither if you aren’t a devoted and glassy-eyed disciple of the Cult of Trump. Oddly, Brooks is just such a sycophant. He was the first member of Congress to back up Trump’s January 6th insurrection and coup attempt. In fact, Brooks might have been even more extreme and treasonous than Trump. He said at the time that Trump’s followers should be prepared to sacrifice their lives for him:

“Our choice is simple. We can surrender and submit, or we can fight back as our ancestors have done. Think for a moment about our ancestors who fought at Valley Forge. They didn’t fight the British, they fought for survival. Twelve thousand Continental soldiers arrived. Five, six months later two thousand had died.

“Think about what they went through. Burying your brothers, your fathers, your sons. Ten to fifteen a day, every day for six months. That’s the kind of sacrifice that we have to think about. And I ask you: are you willing to fight for America? Are you willing to fight for America? Well, the choice is simple. This is how you fight for America. This is what America needs you to do.”

And yet, this is the person who is now too squishy a RINO, too submissive to the “Radical Left” and the “Fake News” to maintain Trump’s support. What’s truly frightening is what that means for those still on the Trump train. If Brooks isn’t sufficiently Trumpified, who the F**K is?

‘Because He’s Stupid’: Trump’s Lame Attempt to Bash Biden Backfires Bigly

The desperation of Donald Trump is being revealed with every new attempt on his part to redirect media attention to himself. His banishment from social media – including the failure of his own venture – combined with the dismal distribution of Trumpian TV like One America News (OAN) and Newsmax, have forced him back onto fox News, the network he has been slamming mercilessly as “lost” and “unwatchable”.

Donald Trump, Joe Biden

On Monday the former reality TV game show host, and twice impeached loser, visited with Trump-fluffer Stuart Varney on his Fox Business Channel program. During a discussion about the Biden administration’s efforts to renegotiate a deal with Iran to prohibit them from developing nuclear weapons, Trump and Varney engaged in the following exchange:

Trump: It is the worst deal and also you’re going to see nukes all over the Middle East. Everyone else is going to get them too. It will be the end.
Varney: So why is Biden doing it?
Trump: Because he’s stupid. OK? Because he’s stupid. And because they’re stupid. And they shouldn’t be in power anyway. But they’re destroying our country and they may ultimately be responsible for destroying the world.

Somehow Trump thinks that an agreement to refrain from nuclear weapons production will result in “nukes all over.” It’s a painfully irrational position that he obviously pulled out of his asinine library of idiotic opinions. Like almost everything else Trump says, he has absolutely no foundation on which to support this view.

Next Varney asks him a straightforward question about why Biden would consider such a policy. A knowledgeable person would have responded with some reasons that Biden regarded a new agreement as advantageous, and then offered an opinion as to why he thought Biden was wrong. But that’s not Trump’s style. Plus, it would require him to be knowledgeable, which is always way too much to ask of Trump.

True to his petulant personality, Trump just said that Biden is pursuing an agreement “Because he’s stupid.” The irony here is, of course, that it’s Trump who is displaying extraordinary stupidity in his own response. And he embellishes it with the outlandish hyperbole that Biden “may ultimately be responsible for destroying the world.” Because Trump just naturally tends to drift toward ludicrous apocalyptic catastrophes rather than merely saying that he disagrees.

In the same interview, trump was also asked by Varney about his prospects for reelection in 2024:

Varney: If we go into 2022, the election, and 2024, and you’re still looking back to the election of 2020, and saying that you really won, I don’t know if that’s very good for you or the Republican Party. You want to comment on that?
Trump: I actually think it is good for me. And I think if we don’t put out all of the crooked things we knew what they are, that you won’t win in ’22 and you won’t win in ’24. If we don’t get to it. So I think it’s the opposite, actually.
Varney: You think 2022 and 2024 are all about the 2020 election. Really?
Trump: No no no. I think for us to win the election we have to know how they cheated, because otherwise they’ll cheat again.

Notice that when Varney asked about whether Trump’s obsession with having lost in 2020 might hurt him and the Republican Party in 2024, Trump responded only that he thought “it is good for me.” Never mind the Party that he purports to lead. To him, everything is always about Trump, and only Trump. And he is still devoutly committed to the “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged,” despite having zero evidence of it after more than a year of deranged yammering and trials.

If this is how Trump comes across on a network that is overtly friendly to him, just think how he might be perceived were he to be interviewed by a real news network. Not to worry. He wouldn’t ever consider doing that. In addition to being stupid, he’s also a notorious coward.

Judge Cites Tucker Carlson as Validation of ‘Actual Malice’ in Defamation Suit Against Fox News

Ever since Donald Trump decisively lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, he and his confederacy of lunkheads have been asserting the “Big Lie” that millions of votes were switched, manufactured, deleted, or otherwise tampered with in order to deny Trump the victory that only resides in his diseased brain. He had over a year and more than sixty court cases to produce the proof of the conspiracy he alleged, but failed entirely to do so.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

Trump’s partners in this charade included much of the right-wing mediaverse, most prominently Fox News. And as a result, Fox News was named in a pair of multi-billion dollar defamation lawsuits, one by Dominion Voting Systems, and one by Smartmatic. that they accused of “stealing” the election from Trump.

This week a judge hearing the Smartmatic case declined to grant a motion by Fox News to dismiss it. It was a serious blow to Fox that leaves the propaganda outlet in deep legal jeopardy. But part of the judge’s reasoning for allowing the case to proceed must be profoundly embarrassing to Fox. According to the Washington Post

“The ruling repeatedly says Fox hosts, [Rudy] Giuliani and [Sydney] Powell made claims ‘without any evidence’ and ‘without any basis.’ It also says that claims made by Giuliani, Fox host Maria Bartiromo and now-former Fox Business host Lou Dobbs could meet the legal standard of claims being ‘so inherently improbable that only a reckless person would have put [them] in circulation.‘ […]

“In the course of laying out the legal requirements for Smartmatic to prove its case, the judge noted that the company must prove Fox met the standard of acting with ‘actual malice’ — i.e. not merely promoting false claims, but doing so with malice. And on that count, the judge says the best evidence that it did is Carlson.

That’s right! Tucker Carlson is Smartmatics’s best witness to certify that Fox News behaved with “actual malice” to defame the company. The judge’s ruling elaborated, saying that…

“Ironically, the statements of Tucker Carlson, perhaps the most popular Fox News host, militate most strongly in favor of a possible finding that there is a substantial basis that Fox News acted with actual malice.”

RELATED: Hillary Clinton also warned Fox News that They’re getting awfully close to actual malice in their attacks.”

The judge also wrote that because “Powell never provided the evidence requested by Carlson, and President Trump’s campaign advised Carlson that it knew of no such evidence [that] Fox News knew, or should have known” that the allegations were false.

What the judge was referring to was a commentary that Carlson delivered last November on his program wherein he described an interaction he had with former Trump lawyer Sydney Powell. He outlined her preposterous and utterly baseless allegations of voting machine tampering that, the disclosure of which, she said would be “biblical.” And despite her lack of any evidence, Carlson pointedly declared that he didn’t dismiss any of it. Because why would a shameless sham monger like Carlson care about evidence?

Nevertheless, he did ask her to present whatever evidence she had. She not only refused to do so, she got angry at him and told him to stop contacting her. But his having asked is what serves as the basis for the lawsuit meeting the “actual malice” standard. So Carlson isn’t validating the claim of defamation because he was caught lying, as one might expect. His validation is in the fact that he actually demonstrated that the election lies told on Fox News were deliberate and malicious.

In other words, Carlson is being cited in court as the truthteller on Fox who exposed his colleagues as defamers. How karmically perfect, albeit bizarre, is that?

Trump’s Ego and Fear is Totally Out of Control in Monday Morning Rage-Tweeting

Throughout his occupation of the White House, Donald Trump demonstrated his servile obedience to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Not only did he never utter a word of criticism, he slavishly praised Putin at every opportunity. That craven toadyism continued, and even escalated, since returning to civilian life.

Donald Trump, Padded Cell

However, Trump may have exceeded the boundaries of tolerance within which he has managed to get away with undermining American interests and subverting democracy. His noxious fawning over Putin during the hellacious assault on Ukraine has caused some of his most devoted disciples to back away. And in the face of that retreat, Trump is trying to overcompensate for his fear by pumping up his already gargantuan ego.

In a pair of desperate but impotent tweets on Monday morning, Trump lavished himself with ludicrous accolades. That’s nothing new for the malignant narcissist of Mar-a-Lago. But the quantity and the dishonesty he is capable of is still pretty impressive in a nauseating way. In his brief tweet tantrums Trump bragged that…

“I hope everyone is able to remember that it was me, as President of the United States, that got delinquent NATO members to start paying their dues.”

“There would be no NATO if I didn’t act strongly and swiftly.”

It was me that got Ukraine the very effective anti-tank busters (Javelins).’

If my energy policy had remained in place…the world would have had no problems whatsoever.”

“If the Election wasn’t Rigged, America would right now continue to have record-low gas prices, as it was under my Administration.”

There is so much wrong in that that it deserves some further attention.

First of all, Trump is trying to take credit for saving NATO. Never mind that he has repeatedly attacked NATO, calling it “obsolete” and sought to withdraw from it. He was serving Putin’s purpose by attempting to weaken the alliance. And he’s flagrantly lying about having raised hundreds of billions of dollars by getting member nations to pay their dues. There are no “dues” to belong to NATO. Just voluntary defense budget goals. And Trump didn’t even have any impact on that.

The Javelin missiles he’s referring to are the ones that he actually used to try to blackmail Ukraine into fabricating dirt about then-candidate Joe Biden. That’s why Trump was impeached the first time. And the funding for those weapons was actually allocated by Congress during the Obama administration. It was Trump who obstructed their delivery.

Trump’s energy policy did not produce energy independence. That was achieved prior to his election, and it was lost in 2020, during his term. The low gas prices he touted were the result of a deadly pandemic (that was exacerbated by his incompetence) during which the demand – and therefore the price – of gas dropped. And the notion that the U.S. has oil resources could exceed Saudi Arabia and Russia combined is pure insanity. As is his ridiculous assertion that “the world would have had no problems whatsoever” were he he still in charge. The world has not forgotten that during his term in office there were nothing but problems.

However, Trump is right that the war in Ukraine should never have happened. But notice that Trump doesn’t – and hasn’t ever – criticized Vladimir Putin for having started the war. In fact, Trump blames it on the “rigged” election, which to him is the cause of everything from the extinction of the dinosaurs to tooth decay.

Trump is displaying the classic symptoms of malignant narcissist. He is psychologically incapable of acknowledging any personal faults. So he will blame whatever is going badly on someone/anyone else, and invent things to congratulate himself for. We can expect this sort of deranged behavior to continue, and to become even more severe, as his world falls apart around him.

Hopefully, we can mitigate the harm that he and his cult followers are capable of creating. The next couple of years will be challenging for America and for the sane and responsible Americans.

How Stupid is Trump? He’s Bragging that 49% of Republicans Don’t Want Him to Run in 2024 (CNN Poll)

With each new day and damning disclosure, it’s getting more difficult to decipher the dementia exhibited by Donald Trump. As the legal walls close in around him he is becoming noticeably distraught. His outbursts are more outlandish and fraught with fear, incoherent absurdities, and impotent demands.

Donald Trump, Mocking Disability

The past several days have been particularly bad for Trump. He was discovered to have flushed documents down the toilet that the law requires him to preserve. He was thrown under the bus by both Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell. A bogus filing by special counsel John Durham was appropriately ignored by the press. His longtime accounting firm announced that they were ceasing to work for him and that ten years of his financial reports were ‘unreliable.” And even his legal lackey Rudy Giuliani is reported to be fully cooperating with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection.

This avalanche of atrocious news may explain Trump’s curious behavior. On Tuesday morning his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, posted a tweet enthusiastically announcing: “CNN POLL: 51 Percent of Democrats Do NOT Want Joe Biden as the 2024 Nominee”

Let’s just set aside that Trump usually dismisses CNN as “fake news.” At first glance this CNN poll may seem like something that Trump would be thrilled to pass on to his Tweeple. It suggests soft support for Biden in the next presidential election. However, what Trump left out is that the same poll shows that 49% of Republicans don’t want Trump to be the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee. With the poll’s 3.3% margin of error, there is effectively no difference between the Democratic and Republican numbers. So what the heck is he bragging about?

Digging further into the poll finds even worse news for Trump. When the Democrats who said they would prefer a candidate other than Biden were asked why, 31% said it was because they didn’t want him to be reelected. When the same question was asked of the Republicans, 39% said it’s because they don’t want him back in the white House. So there are significantly more Republicans opposed to Trump running in 2024, than there are Democrats opposed to Biden.

Most of the rest of the respondents for both parties were divided among other concerns such as electability or age. It isn’t really surprising that Democrats might be open to candidates other than Biden. Democrats are a diverse community with an abundance of attractive political prospects. Unlike the GOP, they are not a party that is mired in blind idolatry and cult worship.

It’s also notable that, rather than linking to CNN as the source for the poll data, Trump’s tweet linked to the notorious Internet conspiracy crackpot, Gateway Pundit. That’s so that he could control what information was disseminated, how biased it would be presented, and how ignorant he would leave his followers.

That’s how Trump came to embrace a poll whose results proved precisely how unpopular he is within his own party. And it isn’t the first time he’s had this kind of mental meltdown. Just last week Trump boasted about a Pew Research survey that showed that 67% of the respondents – including 41% of Republicans – said that he “bears some or a lot of responsibility for the violence and destruction committed by some of his supporters when they broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

At this rate, Democrats could just sit back and wait for Trump to keep pointing out what a pitiful failure he is, and how much people can’t stand him. But they must not. Democrats still need to take the lead in educating the public and providing positive messaging for the upcoming campaigns in 2022 and 2024. It will take fierce determination and unyielding commitment to defeat the innate disadvantages built into the Electoral College, and to overcome the obstacles that the GOP has been building to suppress the vote. Democrats definitely have their work cut out for them. But it’s still nice of Trump to help them make their case.

Trump’s Deranged Response to Mike Pence Sends the Republican Party Skidding Into Disarray

Former Vice-President Mike Pence managed to crawl out from under his rock to make a bit of news on Friday. He gave a speech to the ultra-rightist Federalist Society during which he made his first feeble foray into finding fault with his former boss, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

Taking a break from his typical Trump-fluffing, Pence ventured into the subject of his role during the January 6th insurrection. That role was solely to carry out the constitutionally mandated certification of the Electoral College votes for president by Congress. But in his remarks to the Federalists, he responded to Trump’s ludicrous assertions that he was empowered to overturn the election. Pence made a surprising departure from the Trump Cult Doctrine that the deadly riots were peaceful protests and Trump’s claim that he could halt the proceedings. Pence said that…

“Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election. The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone. And frankly, there is no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president. Under the Constitution I had no right to change the outcome of our election.”

That’s a pretty emphatic repudiation of Trump’s self-serving, nonsensical blathering on the subject. Not that Pence deserves much credit for this unexpected eruption of honesty, considering it took him more than a year to deliver it. Still, calling Trump “wrong” and “un-America” was more than what most Republicans have mustered the courage to do.

Predictably, Trump was perturbed by Pence expressing any opinion that differed from his own. So he lashed out on Twitter (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) to castigate his former number two saying that…

“Just saw Mike Pence’s statement on the fact that he had no right to do anything with respect to the Electoral Vote Count, other than being an automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell to get Biden elected President as quickly as possible. Well, the Vice President’s position is not an automatic conveyor if obvious signs of voter fraud or irregularities exist.”

Trump spat out a twofer there, also snarling about Republican Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell. It’s puzzling that Trump thinks his infantile characterization of McConnell as an “Old Crow” is some sort of epic burn. First of all, Trump is almost as old as McConnell. And crows are considered to be intelligent and cunning. Trump might have been better off calling him an old turkey. But that’s more descriptive of Trump than McConnell.

More to the point, it’s preposterous that McConnell had any desire to hurry the election of President Biden. McConnell is a rock-ribbed conservative who has been an obstacle to all things Democratic for decades. Undeterred, Trump went on to repeat his ignorant misinterpretation of the law governing the certification process. He still thinks that Pence could have scuttled Biden’s election, and has the delusional impression that he “was right and everyone knows it.” Also, there are no “signs of voter fraud or irregularities,” obvious or otherwise. And everyone but Trump and his sycophants know it.

Ironically, Trump has become the most destructive critic of the Republican Party. He has called for GOP incumbents to be primaried. Particularly those who seek the truth about his role in plotting the insurrection, such as Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. It is likely that the GOP’s censure of them was at Trump’s behest. That’s evident in the language used, calling out Cheney and Kinzinger for “engag[ing] in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse.” That’s what the GOP thinks took place on January 6th when the StormTrumpers violently invaded Congress and injured more than 140 police officers.

Yet somehow, the press reports that Democrats are in disarray because two small-state senators out of fifty have broken an otherwise unified party.

So who will Trump’s Republican Party censure next? Mike Pence? Mitt Romney? George Bush? Mitch McConnell? Lindsey Graham? They are a small but significant contingent of the Party’s most prominent names. However, most of the Party is still supporting Trump. And therefore, they also support violent insurrection and Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. But most of all they must support the sentiment with which Trump closed his anti-Pence tweet, saying that “our Country is going to hell!” Which is just Trump, once again, revealing his own agenda America’s future.

Trump Hypes Convicted Election Fraud Felon’s Crocumentary About Election Fraud

For more than a year now, Donald Trump has been frantically scampering to scam suckers who are even more intellectually and emotionally damaged than he is. But his crackpot campaign to persuade people that the 2020 election was corrupted by a massive cabal of conspirators – despite never having been able to produce a shred of evidence – is just a pathetic pursuit to paper over his attempted coup, to which he publicly confessed.

Trump Lies

The latest display of Trump’s derangement came on Monday when he tweeted (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) an endorsement of a documentary that he claimed “shows the world exactly how the 2020 Presidential Election was Rigged and Stolen.” The statement gushed that…

“Highly respected Dinesh D’Souza, working together with Catherine Engelbrecht of True the Vote, just released a trailer to their new movie, ‘2,000 Mules,’ that shows the world exactly how the 2020 Presidential Election was Rigged and Stolen. The movie exposes the lies of the Democrats, RINOs, and Fake News who say it was the ‘most secure election in history.’ It was, perhaps, the least secure in history. The ballot box was stuffed, and stuffed like never before—and it’s all on video. Ballots were trafficked and sold in a massive operation in each Swing State. The evidence is so damning, what will the cowards who sat and did nothing about the stolen election say now? The way our votes were taken away is a disgrace to our Nation. It must be fixed.”

To refer to Dinesh D’Souza as “highly respected” is like referring to Hannibal Lecter as a distinguished gourmet. For the record, D’Souza is a felon who was convicted of – wait for it – campaign finance fraud! He pleaded to guilty to charges of multiple unlawful campaign contributions. So naturally, Trump pardoned him. Now he’s using his experience as an election cheat to make false allegations about election cheating. And D’Souza’s partners, True the Vote, are equally disreputable.

Trump whines that it was the “Fake News” that called the 2020 election “the most secure election in history.” Actually, that was Trump’s own Homeland Security officials. You have to wonder why, if the alleged “evidence” in this crocumentary is so solid, why haven’t they introduced it in court? Why did they make it into a movie that contains nothing verifiable and makes baseless allegations by known liars that are not under oath? Perhaps because the Trump team has already lost more than sixty court cases asserting election fraud that didn’t exist.

This is just another impotent attempt to spread Trump’s lies. It has no more legitimacy or proof of election fraud than the hilariously named “Absolute Proof,” a film by Mike Lindell (the MyPillow guy) that had so little proof that even the One America News Network (OAN) that aired it had to attach a legal disclaimer to distance themselves from the flagrantly bogus propaganda pic. It didn’t work. And neither will D’Souza’s pitiful effort to disseminate disinformation on Trump’s behalf. But that won’t stop Trump from slobbering all over it.

Trump Publicly Confesses to Coup Attempt in Tweet that Pence ‘Could Have Overturned the Election’

Throughout most of his life, Donald Trump has bragged about his allegedly superior intellect and judgment. As President he claimed to be a “stable genius” who knows more than generals about war, more than economists about the economy, and more than doctors about healthcare. The American people – according to a Fox News poll – didn’t agree.

Donald Trump, Constitution

However, if anything puts to rest Trump’s terminally narcissistic impression of himself, it is his latest deranged outburst regarding the election that he lost and his efforts to subvert democracy and coronate himself an American king. In a tweet posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Trump raged that…

“If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had ‘absolutely no right’ to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election? Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and they now want to take that right away. Unfortunately, he didn’t exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!”

To the surprise of no one, Trump has utterly misunderstood the law and what a bipartisan effort in Congress is engaged in. The fact that members of both parties are joining together to draft a clarification of the Electoral Count Act of 1887 only affirms the broad-based consensus that Trump’s actions have been deemed dangerous and warrant a refinement of the legal language to prevent future misrepresentations of what the law already says. Which is that the vice-president’s role is strictly ceremonial and that he has no power to “change the Presidential Election results” or to “overturn the election.” Furthermore, the 12th Amendment to the Constitution stipulates that the vice-president is only authorized to open the certificates of the votes provided by the states and to announce the results.

What Trump has provided in his statement is a public confession of his conspiracy to stage a coup and to usurp the power of the presidency by unlawful means. It’s a plot that he tried to execute by force with his support for January 6th insurrection and the insurrectionists he said that he loves. He even promised to pardon the domestic terrorists who assaulted Congress, and presumably those who might commit such assaults in the future.

This isn’t the first time that Trump has lied to bully the Vice-President into joining his treasonous plot. In a couple of his last tweets before being banned from Twitter, Trump wrote that “If Vice President @Mike_Pence comes through for us, we will win the Presidency,” and that “The Vice President has the power to reject fraudulently chosen electors.”

None of that is true. And even if it were, Trump hasn’t thought it out very well. His misinterpretation would mean that Vice-President Kamala Harris could decide unilaterally who would become president after the 2024 election, regardless of the vote count. That’s something the “stable genius” failed to consider.

Trump, however, has an even bigger problem. His tweeted statement is yet another affirmation of his participation in an attempted insurrection. And the Constitution – which he certainly has never read – addresses that in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment:

“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

In short, Trump’s confession prohibits him from ever serving in any government office. The Constitution unambiguously bars him from running for, or serving as, president again. And that’s just the beginning of his problems. After spending the last year trying unsuccessfully to suppress his White House documents, he has now provided prosecutors with the final piece of the evidentiary puzzle needed to indict him and his accomplices for his coup attempt and for conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government. Now it’s just up to the Justice Department to do its job.

UPDATE I: Jen Psaki steps up and condemns Trump “whose actions have represented a unique and existential threat to our democracy,” and are “a reminder of how unfit he is for office.”

UPDATE II: Trump doubles down on his confession. In another tweet he attempts to elaborate on his assertion that Pence had the right to reject the state-certified vote counts. But all Trump is doing is reiterating his intent to illegally overturn the election results, subvert democracy, and violate the Constitution. He’s just getting himself in deeper.

Desperate or Delusional? Trump Lies that Biden Admitted There Was Election Fraud in 2020

The fact that Donald Trump is a textbook example of a pathological liar isn’t going to make any headlines. His innate, self-serving aversion to the truth has been well documented. And despite the frequency of his deliberate diversions from reality, he persists in prevaricating with an utter lack of the shame that even a marginally decent person would muster.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump

On Thursday morning Trump provided yet another example of his unabashed bullshittery. In a message posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Trump reveled in what he thought (or pretended to think) was a concession by President Biden to his “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him:

“President Biden admitted yesterday, in his own very different way, that the 2020 election may very well have been a fraud, which I know it was. I’m sure his representatives, who work so hard to make it look legit, are not happy.”

Of course, Biden never “admitted” anything of the sort. In his psychotic state, Trump is either making this up or imagining it. Or perhaps a little of both. What Trump is deceitfully referring to are remarks Biden made in his press conference the day before. What Biden actually said was…

“I’m confident that we can take the case to the American people that the people they should be voting for – who are going to oversee whether your elections, in fact, are legit or not – should not be those who are being put up by the Republicans to determine that they’re going to be able to change the outcome of the election.”

And later in an exchange with Allison Harris of News Nation…

Harris: Speaking of voting rights legislation, if this isn’t passed, do you still believe the upcoming election will be fairly conducted and its results will be legitimate?
Biden: Well, it all depends on whether or not we’re able to make the case to the American people that some of this is being set up to try to alter the outcome of the election. [,..] Remember how we thought not that many people were going to show up to vote in the middle of a pandemic? We had the highest voter turnout in the history of the United States of America.

In both statements Biden was clearly referring to upcoming elections in 2022 and 2024. He was not – as Trump said – talking about the 2020 election at all, which has been hailed by Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security as the “most secure in American history.” All fifty states certified the election results, including those led by Republicans. And Trump lost some sixty court cases that alleged election fraud because he couldn’t produce a shred of evidence.

Biden has good cause to be concerned about future elections considering the efforts by Republicans to pass state legislation that suppresses the votes of likely Democratic constituencies. And the GOP candidates for posts that oversee elections in many states are pro-authoritarian extremists campaigning on promises to take elections out of the hands of voters, and place them into partisan legislatures.

These are things that worry Biden (and many Americans), and is what he was talking about in his press conference. But he was not in any way agreeing with Trump’s flagrant falsehoods about election fraud in 2020. To the contrary, Biden was encouraged by the record voter turnout in 2020, despite significant obstacles. His press secretary, Jen Psaki, affirmed that on Twitter, and in an interview Thursday morning on – of all places – Fox News:

“The point he was raising was both that in 2020, even amongst challenging circumstances, efforts to suppress the vote, and in the midst of a pandemic, there was record turnout – Democrats and Republicans – record turnout to go to the polls. And the point he was making was that the former president asked a number of states – seven or more in fact – to overturn the outcome of the election.”

Meanwhile, at his latest cult rally in Arizona, Trump literally advocated that Republicans should cheat in upcoming elections:

“We have more people than they do, but they know politics and they know cheating. I sometimes say, ‘Well, would the Republicans ever do what they did?’ […] I say if it’s good for them, why aren’t the Republicans doing the same kind of thing with the ballots?”

First of all, they most certainly do not have more people than Democrats. Republicans are a distinct minority of the electorate. They do, however, have more cheaters. So if that’s what he meant, we’d have to give it to him.

More to the point, Trump is urging his cult followers to commit illegal acts because he falsely believes that Democrats are doing so. That wouldn’t be a valid justification to break the law even if it were true. But if Trump knew or cared anything about the law, he wouldn’t currently be the subject of numerous criminal investigations.

Trump Explains How He Plans to Steal the Next Election in Video Message to Republican Group

Just over a year ago, Donald Trump and his confederates attempted to stage a coup against the United States. The January 6th insurrection resulted in a violent mob invading the Capitol, interfering with the constitutionally mandated duties of Congress, vandalizing the historic seat of America’s government, causing over $30 million in damage, and injuring more than a 140 police officers.

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Ever since that day, Trump has not only denied any responsibility, he has actually bragged that it was a peaceful and patriotic event, that he “loved” the domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol, and that the “real” insurrection was Election Day, November 3, 2021. What’s more, Trump has signed on to Tucker Carlson’s crackpot conspiracy theory that the riots that Trump denies took place were orchestrated by the FBI.

The gross criminality of the January 6th seditionists was fueled by Trump’s relentless and baseless assertions that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged.” In the year that has transpired he has utterly failed to provide even a shred of evidence to support his claims. But now he is providing evidence of his own efforts to rig future elections.

In a video that Trump produced for a group of Republicans in Pennsylvania, Trump sought to explain why he thinks they should devote more of their resources to campaigns for offices that have jurisdiction over election processes, such Secretaries of State. He said that…

“We have to be a lot sharper the next time when it comes to counting the vote. There’s a famous saying that sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate. And we can’t let that ever, ever happen again. They have to get a lot tougher and smarter.”

Trump is openly articulating a plot to take over the administration of elections so that his apparatchiks can meddle with the voting to fraudulently produce the result he wants. It isn’t enough that Republicans have been passing laws in many states that suppress the votes of Democratic leaning citizens. His authoritarian aspirations now demand that the vote counting functions be put into the hands of his fellow fascists.

For the record, the “famous saying” that Trump is referring to is one that is attributed to one of his tyrannical heroes, Joseph Stalin, who has been reported to have said that…

“I consider it completely unimportant who in the Party will vote, or how. But what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how.”

Whether or not Stalin actually said that is irrelevant. Trump’s believes he did and his reference to it is as clear as day. It is completely in line with Trump’s well documented fixation on notorious dictators. While discussing his record on foreign relations during a recent appearance with Bill O’Reilly, Trump admitted his perverse admiration, saying that the world leaders he “got along best with were tyrants. For whatever reason, I got along great with them.” Which shouldn’t surprise anyone given his affinity for, and subservience to, Vladimir Putin.

This video wherein Trump is quoting what he believes to be Stalin’s method of dealing with democracy should alarm every American. Trump is clearly setting up the 2022 midterm elections as a rehearsal for his own attempt to regain power in 2024. And he isn’t the least bit shy about revealing his nefarious intentions. Which makes it all the more critical that Democrats and honest Republicans (if there are any left) to join together to pass the voting rights legislation currently being debated in Congress. American democracy is literally hanging in the balance.
