Marjorie Taylor Greene Interview on 60 Minutes Was a Propaganda – and Ratings – Flop

On Sunday night CBS News humiliated itself by presenting a sappy personal profile of Republican QAnon representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene, on its perennial news magazine, 60 Minutes. The interview was conducted by Lesley Stahl who, while having a renowned reputation as a journalist, made some amateurish mistakes in both her questioning and framing of the extremist congresswoman.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon

The interview was rife with flagrant falsehoods by Greene, along with her attempts to rewrite history (videos below). She denied her grossly offensive comments about Democrats, about whom she used tortured and twisted logic to malign as pedophiles. She refuted her prior statements approving of shooting Nancy Pelosi. She pretended that she had nothing to do with posts on her Twitter account asserting that the mass shooting at the Parkland school was a “false flag” operation by gun safety advocates. That’s not the first time that she made that charge. She said the same thing about the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

All of these, as well as many other disgusting sentiments, were well documented and a few were displayed on screen as Greene issued her denials. And anyone who has been paying attention knows the depths to which Greene’s extremism descends.

RELATED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Floats Fascist Proposal for Red States to Prohibit Democrats From Voting

The good news is that Green’s interview was not widely disseminated. The Nielsen ratings for 60 Minutes Sunday night were the second lowest for the season to date. And this episode was 33% lower than last weeks episode. Greene was the headliner for the program and, thus, is entitled to full credit for its failure.

Apparently America wasn’t interested in tuning in to her bullpucky. Perhaps fittingly, Nielsen reported that 6.66 million people watched the show. That’s an audience figure that should please the demonic demographic within the Republican Party.

It was irresponsible for CBS to give Greene a virtually unchallenged platform to advance her crackpot conspiracy theories. Stahl should make a point of following up the interview with a fact check and rebuttal on next week’s program. That probably won’t happen. But at least we can be encouraged by the low interest of American TV viewers in Greene’s gibberish and lies. Hopefully the only thing that people remember from this interview is how nuts the GOP has become to elevate someone like Greene.

Jim Jordan Tells Fox News that He’ll Explore Defunding the Police Due to the Trump Indictment

In the aftermath of the announcement by the Manhattan District Attorney that Donald Trump has been indicted for multiple counts of criminal activities, Trump’s cult operatives in Congress the media have pounced on the D.A., and every other law enforcement agency, whether or not they had anything to do with the indictments.

Jim Jordan

The reactions to Trump’s legal tribulations by his defenders range from simmering outrage to rapidly boiling outrage. Not surprisingly, Fox News has led the parade of Trump sycophants seeking to absolve the former reality TV game show host of any culpability for his crimes, even though they don’t know what the charges are. It’s a transparent effort to gain favor with Trump and his cult disciples following the embarrassing disclosures of how much they privately hate him and don’t believe his lies.

RELATED: IT’S A CULT: Most Fox News Viewers Are Still Loyal After Dominion Lawsuit Discloses Their Lies

On Sunday morning Rep. Jim Jordan, the GOP chair of the Judiciary Committee, visited with Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, to discuss the Trump indictments. The theme of the segment involved their distracting narrative about whether or not federal funds were used in the Manhattan D.A.’s investigation. And that irrelevant issue led to the following exchange…

Jordan: We’re legislators. Our job is to pass legislation – write laws and pass legislation. So we’ll look at that. And maybe most important, Maria, we control the power of the purse. We’re going to have to look at the appropriations process and limit funds going to some of these agencies. Particularly the ones that are engaged in the most egregious behavior.
Bartiromo: So the DOJ and the FBI?
Jordan: Yeah. And what I’d really like, frankly, I’d really like for the government just to stay out of the election process.

Jordan’s professed interest in passing legislation is a brazen departure from reality. Since assuming the chairmanship of the committee, Jordan has been singularly focused on partisan probes that have nothing to do with any pending legislation.

What’s more, Jordan’s promise to look at appropriations for the Department of Justice and the FBI amount to nothing less than defunding the police. And while his intent is only to obstruct any investigations into the unlawful acts of his Republican confederates, those agencies also handle such pertinent public safety matters as counterterrorism and drug trafficking. Apparently to Jordan and Fox News, national security is expendable in exchange for covering up GOP malfeasance.

The position that Jordan is taking on the government’s role in the election process is perhaps the most hypocritical. It is Jordan himself who is the one exploiting his post in order to impose on electoral politics. His entire agenda as committee chair is to damage Democrats so that Republicans can cling to their narrow majority in the House and abuse the power that comes with it. That’s why the only hearings he’s held to date have been on Hunter Biden’s laptop and the false premise that Internet platforms are biased in favor of Democrats.

RELATED: New GOP Subcommittee Chair Openly Admits His Only Purpose is to ‘Make Life Hell’ for Democrats

Meanwhile, Jordan and the GOP are ignoring Trump’s crimes, as well as those of his family and his cult followers, who assaulted Congress while Jordan was there. And Republicans aren’t the least bit disturbed by Trump’s continuous fomenting of violence, such as his warning that there would be “death and destruction” were he to be indicted. And of course, Fox News is on fully board with these sort of incitements. In fact, they are disseminating and magnifying them.

Eric Trump Spills to Newsmax that His Father is Guilty of Paying Hush Money to Stormy Daniels

The family of Donald Trump is not known for having a particularly notable ration of intellect. After all, Papa Don’s beliefs include that stealth fighters are actually invisible, that windmills cause cancer, that we should nuke hurricanes, that George Washington’s Army took over airports, and that injecting bleach will cure COVID. That’s not exactly the thinking of a “stable genius,” as he refers to himself.

Fox News, Stormy Daniels

In the wake of his indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, Trump has gone into a rabid attack mode, going after D.A. Alvin Bragg and anyone associated with the indictment. He has posted dozens of comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, mostly linking to sycophantic supporters sucking up to his eminence. And he hasn’t been above inciting violence as a means to “protest” his being brought to justice.

SEE THIS: Trump Warns of ‘Death and Destruction’ if He is Indicted for Crimes that He Actually Committed

Meanwhile, Trump’s son Eric is making the rounds of MAGA media to proclaim that his father is just the helpless victim of the cabal of “Deep State,” “Radical Left,” “Communists,” dispatched by George Soros to destroy him. On Friday Eric “Fredo” Trump was interviewed by Greg Kelly on Newsmax. And he was none too pleased with the news that his sugar daddy had been indicted. So he whined petulantly that..

“They go after my father for what? A non-disclosure agreement which every company in the world, every person in the world does? Thousands of these happen every single day. Stop it. No one buys it.”

Really? “Every person in the world” does non-disclosure agreements? That means there are nearly eight billion NDAs out there. Who knew?

More troublesome for Daddy Trump is that Eric is effectively conceding that his father is guilty. Non-disclosure agreements are generally drawn up in business situations wherein one party seeks to prevent the other from disclosing factual, private information. They are not used as responses to falsehoods. That’s what defamation lawsuits are for. So Eric is effectively admitting that Donald’s “arrangement” with adult film star Stormy Daniels was intended to keep the actual facts concealed.

Furthermore, NDAs are generally entered into voluntarily by both parties, even though one party usually has some leverage over the other (i.e. employer/employee). And there isn’t a payment associated with such a contract. That’s what we usually refer to as a “bribe,” or as in this case, “hush money.” Trump’s payment of #130,000 to Daniels is therefore more accurately described as a financial incentive to buy her silence in order to prevent the harm of the scandal from damaging his electoral prospects.

Finally, Eric’s assertion that there was an NDA is not borne out by any evidence. Neither he nor his father has produced a contract or other legal document attesting to the agreement. The only proof that we have of it are the checks Trump wrote to his then-attorney, Michael Cohen, reimbursing him for the payoff to Daniels. And they don’t spell out any terms.

It is not unusual for Trump to publicly incriminate himself. His big mouth is often the source of the best evidence against him. For example…

And even his attorney can’t be depended on to refrain from damaging his legal status…

SEE THIS: Trump’s Attorney Admits that Trump Lied About Making Hush Money Payments to Stormy Daniels

Nevertheless, according to Eric the Dread, his father’s victimhood is devastating. And it is not only impacting Donald, but an array of the – let’s say “ring” kissers devoted to his MAGA cult. Sadly, they are all on the verge of collapsing from the weight of their depression, as noted by Daily Show correspondent, Desi Lydic…

Tucker Carlson Warns that Trump’s Indictment Makes This ‘Not the Best Time to Give Up Your AR-15’

The indictment of Donald Trump by a Manhattan Grand Jury has restored some measure of faith in the American justice system. It proves, at least for the moment, the old adage that “no one is above the law,” and that even the rich and powerful can be held to account when they break it.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump

However, this indictment is also revealing a darker side to certain cultish factions of society that despise law and order when it is imposed on them or their idols. They are intensely determined to seek vengeance on any legal authority that dares to due its job. And any attempt to apply the law equally will trigger a violent response.

RELATED: Trump Warns of ‘Death and Destruction’ if He is Indicted for Crimes that He Actually Committed

On his Thursday night program on Fox News, Tucker Carlson provided a frightening example of the sort of retribution that he favors and urges his audience to engage in. He interviewed conservative activist Ned Ryun, who articulated a dystopian view of the future following the Trump indictment. And Carlson added his own overtly threatening reply…

Ryun: We’re in a cold war, civil war era in this country in which we have to decide and commit to the policy of Mutually Assured Destruction. Democrats are launching nukes at us. We better decide we’re launching nukes back at them until they stop. […] And if you don’t fight it, if you just accept it, we will slouch our way into a one-party state, one-party system, which ultimately ends up in authoritarianism.
Carlson: Probably not the best time to give up your AR-15.

Carlson’s comment is unambiguously threatening. He is exhorting his glassy-eyed viewers to take up arms in “defense” of their messiah. Which is something that Trump himself proposed when he posted a comment last month on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that urged his disciples to physically fight for him this time. What we got to lose? Carlson and Trump are drooling over the prospect of a violent retaliation for what they see as persecution.

For his part, Trump has already posted more than fifty comments – mostly of his political and pundit devotees – since the indictments were announced. And to no one’s surprise, Trump lashed out personally at the judge saying

“The Judge ‘assigned’ to my Witch Hunt Case, a ‘Case’ that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors.”

Trump has also fired up his grifting operation to squeeze more funds from his flock. This is someone who claims to be a billionaire, but makes the peasants who worship him pay his legal bills. And it’s no coincidence that Trump makes a point of spelling out the name of the judge, who is an American of Latin descent.

Curiously, Fox News can’t decide whether Trump’s indictment is an atrocity or cause for celebration. Many of the network’s hosts are convinced that affirmation of Trump’s guilt will assure his victory in 2024. That includes Fox’s Chief Trump-fluffer, Sean Hannity…

Hegseth: This is, politically, a great night for Donald Trump. It just is. You remember the mug shots of Elvis, and Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Cash, and Jimi Hendrix, and Mick Jagger? Turned them into even bigger icons than they were. If there is a mug shot of Donald Trump, it will be in dorm rooms and on t-shirts, making him a hero — It will. And rightfully so. Because he’s become a symbol of what elites and those obsessed with power are willing to do when they have that power.
Hannity: You just gave away my business idea..

Hannity also interviewed one of Trump’s most adoring Senate – let’s say “ring” kissers, Lindsey Graham, who made a pathetic plea for donations on Trump’s behalf…

“They are trying to drain him dry. He’s spent more money on lawyers than most people spent on campaigns. They’re trying to bleed him dry. DonaldJTrump dot com. Go tonight. Give the president some money to fight this bullshit. This is going to destroy America.”

Really? It’s going to destroy America if people don’t fork over their funds to an alleged billionaire criminal? And Graham isn’t making a particularly good point by reminding people that Trump has “spent more money on lawyers.” That’s usually a sign of trouble, not the character asset Graham thinks it is. But he wasn’t alone on Fox News fawning over Trump and whining over his indictment. Here’s a nice compilation of what you’re missing if you don’t watch Fox…

What’s interesting is that these are the same people who it was recently discovered were lavishing affection on him on the air, while telling each other privately that they hated him and wished to be free of his lies and disturbances. Can anyone really believe them now?

Trump Indicted by the Manhattan Grand Jury Probing His Hush Money Payments to Stormy Daniels

FINALLY! Donald Trump has been indicted by the Manhattan Grand Jury that has been investigating his hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. This will likely be just the first of many indictments to come for a corrupt, life-long criminal who briefly occupied the White House.

Stormy Daniels Donald Trump

The indictment of Trump is still sealed as of this writing, so the specific charges are not yet known. But there is already some speculation among pundits that it contains a felony charge. In any case he will be put under arrest, there will be a booking and a mug shot, and a furious flurry of whining from Trump and his sycophantic cult disciples.

In the meantime, lets recall some of the recent comments from Trump and others leading up to this day…

Trump Can’t Imagine the NYPD Defending the City If His Indictment Triggers Riots By His Followers
“CAN YOU IMAGINE THE GREAT NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT, CORRECTLY REFERRED TO AS ‘NEW YORK CITY’S FINEST,’ WHO, FOR THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME IN HISTORY, ENDORSED A PRESIDENT, ME, & HONORED ME AS ‘MAN OF THE YEAR,’ HAVING TO DEFEND & PROTECT THE ‘DEFUNDERS’ & ‘COP HATERS’ OF THE RADICAL LEFT THAT WANT TO PUT THEIR GREATEST CHAMPION & FRIEND IN PRISON FOR A CRIME THAT DOESN’T EXIST…ALL THE WHILE THE SOROS BACKED D.A. ALLOWS MURDERERS & OTHER VIOLENT CRIMINALS TO FREELY ROAM THE SIDEWAKS OF N.Y.?”

Fox News Hack Tucker Carlson Rants that Prosecuting Trump Would Forever End Democratic Elections
“If the Democratic Party is allowed to do this, allowed to crush the presidential front-runner, the main threat to their power, with a bogus criminal case, where does that leave us? We’re done because that precedent will live forever and voters will never again determine the outcome of a presidential election. It’s remarkable when you think about it.”

Trump Warns of ‘Death and Destruction’ if He is Indicted for Crimes that He Actually Committed
“What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country? Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely (sic) hates the USA!”

Jon Stewart’s Snarky Swipe at Nutty Notion that a Trump Indictment Would Make Him a Martyr
Stewart (sarcastically): I think the law should always take into account someone’s popularity. I mean, what’s happened to our country? It’s as though you can’t even commit financial fraud anymore. You can’t inflate the value of your property when you need a loan, and then deflate it with taxes. The next thing you know they’re going to send YOU to jail instead of your lawyer, and your accountant, and your campaign manager, and everyone else around you. The idea that someone may face accountability, who’s that rich and powerful, is outrageous, and this country shouldn’t stand for it.

And let’s not forget that just the day before this indictment, Trump posted this comment expressing his “respect” for the Grand Jury…

“I HAVE GAINED SUCH RESPECT FOR THIS GRAND JURY, & PERHAPS EVEN THE GRAND JURY SYSTEM AS A WHOLE. THE EVIDENCE IS SO OVERWHELMING IN MY FAVOR, & SO RIDICULOUSLY BAD FOR THE HIGHLY PARTISAN & HATEFUL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THAT THE GRAND JURY IS SAYING, HOLD ON, WE ARE NOT A RUBBER STAMP, WHICH MOST GRAND JURIES ARE BRANDED AS BEING, WE ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE AGAINST A PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE OR AGAINST LARGE NUMBERS OF LEGAL SCHOLARS ALL SAYING THERE IS NO CASE HERE. DROP THIS SICK WITCH HUNT, NOW!”

And that was only a week after he posted a comment stating flatly that that he “WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY” and urging his cult followers to “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

“NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

Trump posted his response to the indictment (and a longer and lie-riddled rant here) saying that…

“These Thugs and Radical Left Monsters have just INDICATED (sic) the 45th President of the United States of America, and the leading Republican Candidate, by far, for the 2024 Nomination for President. THIS IS AN ATTACK ON OUR COUNTRY THE LIKES OF WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE. IT IS LIKEWISE A CONTINUING ATTACK ON OUR ONCE FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. THE USA IS NOW A THIRD WORLD NATION, A NATION IN SERIOUS DECLINE. SO SAD!”

Trump is very upset that he has been “INDICATED”? But he is right that “THE LIKES OF [THIS] HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.” But that’s only because no president has ever been so flagrantly criminal before. And he’s only going to get worse from here. Stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: Trump was indicted on 34 felony counts “that Trump falsified internal business records at his private company while trying to cover up an effort to illegally influence the 2016 election by arranging payments that silenced claims” of his affair with adult film star, Stormy Daniels.

Big Baby Trump Unleashes a Wildly Racist Rant Against a Black New York Times Columnist

To hear him tell it, Donald Trump is both the most beloved political figure in American history, and the most persecuted victim of a vast army of adversaries. It’s a perverse and paradoxical perspective that illustrates just how far from reality Trump has ventured.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Newspapers, Baby, Hate

Trump’s seething synthesis of narcissism and paranoia seeps into every public outburst he sputters in his attempts to keep his glassy-eyed cult followers fermented in fear and fury. And that animosity is only becoming more pronounced as the law gets closer to nailing him to the cross of justice.

RELATED: Trump’s Raging Fear is on Vivid Display as He Hurls Infantile Insults at New York Prosecutor

On Thursday morning Trump took to his pitifully failing social media scam, Truth Social, to lash out at Charles Blow, a New York Times opinion columnist who stirs Trump’s ire for daring to criticize him, and for having the audacity to be Black. In a fit of rancidly racist rage, Trump wrote…

“Racist Columnist Charles Blowhard of the Failing New York Times, a sick degenerate who doesn’t like our Country or the values that made it great, prior to its massive FAILURE over the last two years, writes that I should be prosecuted by Radical Left, Soros Backed Lunatics, even without evidence, because I’m WHITE. What has our Country come to? With Blowhard’s racist words and innuendo, dumb as he is, bad things happen, and we are now a Nation in Decline being stupidly led into World War lll.”

Trump has frequently accused prominent Black Americans of being racists, including three of the prosecutors currently investigating him (New York Attorney General Leticia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and Fulton County, GA District Attorney Fani Willis). Blow had his own pithy reply to Trump…

Notice that Trump’s insult vocabulary is still firmly stuck at an elementary school level with his “Blowhard” taunt. Note also that he has no qualms about referring to a distinguished Black author as “a sick degenerate” and “dumb.” However, the most profoundly repulsive attacks on Mr. Blow relate to Trump’s accusations that he is a racist who is only criticizing Trump “because I’m WHITE.”

Trump doesn’t identify any particular article to support his tirade. Nor does he cite whatever he thought was racist in anything Blow wrote or said, because it doesn’t exist. But what likely triggered this tantrum was one of two articles published earlier this month that Trump is only now getting around to. One makes the case for why Trump must be prosecuted if there is credible evidence of a crime. Which is a position shared by most Americans. The other provides an accurate character profile of Trump as a perpetual whiner who seeks only to advance his own prospects for power and profit. In fact, he has bragged about being “the most fabulous whiner…”

SEE THIS: Victim-in-Chief: Trump is the most Cowardly, Whining, Crybaby to Ever Be President

For the record, neither of the articles criticize Trump for being White, or ever mentions race at all. This is something that Trump has manufactured to peddle to his cult who devour such hate-driven nonsense. The first article published on March 15, addressed not race, but “unequal treatment of the rich and powerful.” It is titled “Donald Trump Must Be Prosecuted,” and says in part that…

“Any case against Trump must hang on the evidence and the principle that justice is blind. […] The justice system must be untethered from political implications and consequences, even the possibility of disruptive consequences.” [and that] “Prosecuting Trump wouldn’t break the country. On the contrary, it would be a step toward mending it, a step toward undergirding the flimsy promise of ‘equal justice under law.'”

In the the second article published on March 22, titled “Trump May Face Prosecution. America Faces a Test,” Blow wrote that…

“Moving forward, unapologetically and righteously, with the prosecution of Trump is another test that our country faces and another chance our country has to make the right — or wrong — choice.”

Somehow Trump found a reverse racial assault in there somewhere. Or at least that’s what he wants his cult disciples – who will never read the New York Times – to believe. It’s emblematic of his delusional take on everything. After all, just last week Trump posted a comment saying that…

“Every article I read, every show I watch, even the so-called Haters say that ‘President Trump did nothing wrong.”

Clearly that isn’t true, or Trump wouldn’t know about these articles by Blow. And if it were true, it would only confirm that his reading materials are strictly constrained to contain only the glowing adulation due to an aspiring authoritarian, or perhaps messiah. Which would fit nicely with his premonitions of Armageddon…

Fox News Caught Coddling Conspiracy Crackpots for Fear of Losing Audience and Advertisers – Again!

The billion dollar defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News is getting closer to being played out in court. And with an April 17 trial date, there is still more evidence of Fox’s fraudulence coming out on a nearly daily basis. The extent of their ethical emptiness continues to astonish and disgust.

Fox News, Bullshit Factory

The latest exposure of Fox’s unscrupulousness came in the form of a “slide deck” that Dominion lawyers used at a March 28 hearing. Matthew Gertz of Media Matters posted images of the presentation by Dominion’s lawyers (in this Twitter thread). And while it contains some cringeworthy examples of deceitfulness, it is also all too reminiscent of what has been published previously.

RELATED: In Dominion v Fox News, Network Cries ‘We Can’t Make People Think We’ve Turned Against Trump’

Among the new disclosures are internal communications from Fox News executives and hosts. They show that these people have no regard for journalist principles or the welfare of the nation. What follows are some samplings from the hearing…

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott:
[Reacting to a reporter’s fact checking] “This has to stop now. This is bad business and there clearly is a lack of understanding what is happening in these shows. The audience is furious and we are just feeding them material. Bad for business.” […]

“I can’t keep defending these reporters who don’t understand our viewers and how to handle stories. The audience feels like we crapped on and we have damaged their trust and belief in us. We lost 25k subs from FOX NATION.

Fox News Host Maria Bartiromo:
“We have to go to a full on war. They have used all systems to defraud… Jared says he doesn’t want to hear about any conspiracy theory… The campaign is not doing shit.” […]

“The country needs to survive. We need to keep this president. Noone (sic) thinks anyway that people voted for Biden.” […]

“It was sophisticated funded and orchestrate & uses all areas of fraud including digital. We now know Nancy Pelosi has an interest in it. It’s directed also by Soros.”

Fox News Host Tucker Carlson:
“[Sidney Powell] is a psychopath. She’s getting Trump all spun up and has zero evidence. Same with Rudy [Giuliani].” […]

“[Mike] Lindell seems to really have gone off the deep end. He is definitely crazy… I agree there’s concern about Lindell being a conspiracy theorist now. But he has bailed us out loads of times when no one else would.” […]

“We can concentrate on cancel culture rather than his wild claims… If no one is buying him, he loses money to be able to advertise with us. And then we lose our biggest advertiser.”

[Note: After most major advertisers pulled out of Carlson’s show to avoid association with his racism and conspiracy theories, Lindell was indeed his biggest advertiser. Although he had problems of his own]

Fox News “Brain Room” staffer Leonard Balducci:
“Claims about Dominion switching or deleting votes are 100% false. Dominion systems continue to reliably and accurately count ballots, and state and local authorities as well as fact checkers, have publicly confirmed the integrity of the process.” […]

“Dominion has no company ownership relationships with any member of the Pelosi family, the Feinstein family, or the Clinton Global Initiative.”

These are the sort of statements that prompted the Society of Professional Journalists to respond to the allegations against Fox News in a damning statement by their Professional Standards and Ethics Committee. They found…

“…the allegations against Fox News deeply troubling. A fundamental ethical rule of journalism, set out in the SPJ Code of Ethics, is to seek the truth and report it. If a news organization knowingly spreads lies, either in news reporting or opinion, it has clearly breached this most sacred of principles. No responsible journalist can accept or excuse this behavior. […]

“[And that] responsible opinion hosts and commentators have a duty to use verified facts as the basis of their arguments and to not peddle what they know to be lies and disinformation. Many people use the information they get from their favorite hosts and commentators to form their own opinions.”

Indeed, that last line illustrates the problem that Fox News creates when they deliberately mislead their viewers. Of course, Fox doesn’t view it as a problem, It’s precisely the effect they intend to have on their audience. And the truly sad part of this is that it’s working.

SEE THIS: IT’S A CULT: Most Fox News Viewers Are Still Loyal After Dominion Lawsuit Discloses Their Lies

If anyone still thinks that Fox should be considered a “news” enterprise, ask yourselves this question: Why havn’t any of the alleged “journalists” at Fox resigned after learning about just how corrupt and dishonest the organization is? How could anyone who regards themselves as an ethical reporter continue to work for such a company? Why won’t they even make a public statement of disapproval?

The answer, of course, is that there isn’t anyone at Fox with the integrity to take such a stand. They are all equally responsible and, thus, reprehensible. There isn’t one of them with an ounce of honor or professional decency.

UPDATE I: In a March 31 ruling on summary judgement, the judge found that “The evidence is ‘CRYSTAL clear that none of the Statements [made on Fox News] relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true.'”

UPDATE II: The judge in the Dominion case has sanctioned Fox News for withholding evidence. He also made several other rulings that hamper Fox’s ability to deflect from the issue of defamation.

On Fox News Trump Confesses that He Stole Classified Documents, Despite Hannity’s Coaching

There’s a reason that most competent lawyers advise their clients to refrain from commenting during criminal investigations and prior to indictments or trials. It’s because there is more than a small chance that they will say something that incriminates them and weakens their defense.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News Sean Hannity

Donald Trump, however, never takes such salient advice because his malignant narcissism compels him to believe that he can’t possibly do anything wrong, and that his way of handling things will always be the best way. Consequently, he regularly shoots his big mouth off at his cult rallies and on television without any regard for the legal consequences of his bellicose babbling.

RELATED: Trump Admits He’s Guilty in a Fear-Drenched Rant Attacking the Special Counsel as a ‘Monster’

On Monday night Trump was welcomed back into the bosom of Fox News (where he has been conspicuously absent for some weeks) for some softball questions about his imminent indictments and the investigations currently in progress. True to form, Trump spent much of the interview rambling incoherently and whining about his being persecuted by all manner of evil foes.

The Trump-fluffing Hour with Hannity was typical of how Fox News coddles Trump. Hannity made sure that every question he asked had the answer embedded in it so that Trump wouldn’t have to strain himself coming up with a plausible excuse or a believable lie. Sadly, Trump was too boneheaded to grasp Hannity’s obvious coaching (video below)

Hannity: I can’t imagine you ever saying “Bring me some of the boxes that we brought back from the White House. I’d like to look at them.” Did you ever do that?
Trump: I would have the right to do that. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Hannity: But I know you. I don’t think you would do it.
Trump: Well, I don’t have a lot of time. But I would have the right to do that. I would do that. There would be nothing wrong.

Twice Hannity tried to guide Trump into a response that simply denied that he would break the law. And twice Trump not only ignored Hannity, he explicitly contradicted him, saying that “I would do that,” meaning that he would indeed illegally take classified documents from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel. He’s virtually confessing on national television. But he wasn’t finished incriminating himself…

Trump: Remember this. This is the Presidential Records Act. I have the right to take stuff. You know that they ended up paying Richard Nixon $18 million for what he had. They did the Presidential Records Act. I have the right to take stuff. I have the right to look at stuff.

It’s interesting that Trump chose to justify his crimes by associating himself with another disgraced Republican president, Richard Nixon. And Trump specifically cited Nixon for having allegedly exploited classified documents for profit. That’s just so Trump. Always grifting.

However, he was, as usual, completely wrong about whatever he was implying about the Presidential Records Act. It does not give him the powers that he claims. To the contrary, the PRA explicitly states that “Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the [National] Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.” But Trump is someone who thinks that he has magical powers to designate classification statuses mentally.

And yet, Trump still wasn’t done dooming his own legal case…

Trump: They have the right to talk, and we have the right to talk. This would have all been worked out. All of a sudden they raided Mar-a-Lago. Viciously raided Mar-a-Lago. I have tape. And I gave them tapes. You know I gave them tapes of storage areas. I gave it to them. I could have held that back. I wasn’t holding anything back that I cared about. I gave them tape. But you know the tape that they don’t want me to reveal? If possible – and they’ve asked me, and so far I’ve adhered to it. The raid itself.
Hannity: Wait a minute. I’ll take that tape.
Trump: I know you would. Everybody would take that tape.

Trump, of course, is lying again about being able to get this “worked out” before the allegedly “sudden” raid of Mar-a-Lago. Trump actually refused to cooperate, and he lied to the FBI (a felony) about having turned over everything. That’s why, after nearly a year of defiance and deception (hardly sudden), a subpoena was issued and a search warrant granted.

What’s more, Trump is claiming to have video tapes that he believes would exonerate him. But for some reason he prefers to allow his apparent guilt to fester in the mediasphere, so he hasn’t released them. That makes perfect sense only if you know that there aren’t any such tapes and you’re desperate to convince people that you’re innocent.

This will only get more interesting when Trump goes to trial and he’s asked to produce these phantom exculpatory tapes that he has now claimed publicly to possess. And this, along with all of the other times he’s foolishly spoken out, will make the prosecutor’s job much easier, and a conviction more likely. So Trump should continue to exercise his right to talk his way straight into prison.

Jon Stewart’s Snarky Swipe at Nutty Notion that a Trump Indictment Would Make Him a Martyr

As the walls close in on Donald Trump, he is descending ever further into an abyss of self-pity, victimhood, and malicious lies and insults aimed at the prosecutors who seek to hold him accountable for his multitude of crimes. His posts on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, are drenched with the fear and desperation of a cornered rat.

Jon Stewart, Donald Trump

Trump’s attacks on law enforcement range from outrageously false to blisteringly vicious as he attempts to convince his glassy-eyed cult followers that he is being persecuted by a cabal of satanic, George Soros-sponsored communists determined to drag him into the pits of hell – a destination he has been setting for himself for decades. And it’s clear that Trump’s anxieties are weighing on him as he converts his fear into threats.

The prospect of Trump being indicted has driven debate among the pundit and political class, with his most devoted defenders latching unto the preposterous notion that if charges were brought against him it would boost his popularity and secure his electoral victory in 2024.

They might be right if they are only considering Trump’s position among his staunchly loyal disciples. They have already proven that nothing he does (assaulting women, stealing classified documents, consorting with Russians, dining with Nazis, inciting insurrections, etc.) could shake their blind adoration of him. However, the broader American public is already tired of, and disgusted by, his antics.

The idiotic idea that an indictment would bolster Trump was addressed in an interview of Jon Stewart by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria. And Stewart was on top of his game when he laid into those who embrace the “Trump as martyr” narrative…

Zakaria: There are people who say “Yes, yes. Indict him because he has, in fact, broken the laws.” And there are other people who say “This is gonna turn him into a martyr. This is his path to redemption.”
Zakaria: But what if it turns out to be his “get out of jail free” pass? People see him as a martyr?
Stewart: We either have the rule of law, or we have no rule of law. The rule of law does not take into account if that might make you a martyr to somebody.

Indeed! The law should never consider whether a particular defendant is popular, or how his prosecution might be seen as a matter of public opinion, and especially not politically.

That said, if Trump flunkies really want to impose a standard wherein public opinion of a defendant determines whether or not to pursue prosecution, they might regret getting what they wish for. A recent poll shows that 56% of Americans say that investigations into Trump are fair, while only 41% say they are “witch hunts.” Other polls have long shown that a majority of Americans believe that Trump is responsible for the violence that occurred on January 6th.

In the meantime, Trump’s lackeys on Capitol Hill are smoothing the way for him to commit even more crimes with absolute impunity. The GOP chairs of the House Judiciary, Oversight, and Administration committees are presently crafting legislation that would “strip state and local prosecutors of the authority to prosecute former presidents.” Never mind that it’s a blatantly unconstitutional imposition on state’s rights, something conservatives pretend to support. Or that is intended solely to shield Trump from prosecution for his innumerable crimes. It is also a futile gesture since it would never pass in the Senate or get President Biden’s signature.

This is the “thinking” of the Republican Party that is so infected with Trumpism that they would actually consider a law that would permit Trump to break any law that he wants. Which, from their warped perspective, makes sense because they believe that his lawlessness would make him even more popular among his Klan. And this is a party that thinks it has a future in American democracy?

The Wacko in Waco: Trump Lavishes Praise on Fox News and the January 6th Insurrectionists

It’s no coincidence that Donald Trump chose Waco, Texas, to hold his first official campaign rally for the 2024 Republican nomination for president. It’s a city best known as the home of a radical cult that went to war with the police and the U.S. government. Which is a pretty good description of Trump’s MAGA movement.

Trump opened his Waco cult rally by playing the hokey song recorded by January 6th insurrectionists currently in prison for everything from criminal trespassing to obstructing Congress to seditious conspiracy. And to make that even worse, he accompanied the song with big screen images of the riots in progress. So while he has blatantly lied that he never intended to incite the violence, he is now glorifying it, exalting the perpetrators, and fomenting more violence.

Following that opening, Trump spent much of the rest of his speech whining about the investigations of his numerous crimes. He complained about the prospect of his being indicted and lashed out viciously at the prosecutors. He spent barely any time at all on actual issues that affect the American people. If nothing else, this speech revealed what will likely be Trump’s campaign slogan for the 2024 presidential cycle. and it isn’t “Keep America Great.” It’s “Keep Me Out of Prison.”

Trump’s defense of the January 6th rioters isn’t his first foray into supporting these treasonous thugs. In December Trump promised to halt their prosecutions if he were to return to the white House. Which is just another good reason to prevent that from ever happening. But his Waco address showed that he is committed to rewarding the domestic terrorists who assaulted America’s seat of democracy…

“Under Joe Biden American patriots are being arrested and held in captivity like animals. Look at what’s happening in Washington. […] These are people that shouldn’t have been there. And when you look at the Tucker Carlson tapes from two weeks ago, and you see so many things that turned out to be false. Very important what Tucker’s done. What Sean has done. What Laura did. Laura did a piece last night that was incredible.”

It isn’t surprising that Trump would lean on his favorite Fox News sycophants to support his celebration of the January 6th assault. Tucker Carlson, in particular, has spearheaded Fox’s whitewashing of the rampaging StormTrumpers. Neither Trump, nor Carlson, nor the rest of Fox News cared at all about the 140+ law enforcement officers who were injured, or the millions of dollars of damage to the Capitol, or the harm to the very concept of democracy.

To the contrary, they all applauded the mayhem and destruction conducted on Trump’s behalf. They crave the authoritarian dictatorship that Trump aspires to. And they will distort reality to fit their grotesque lust for what America should become under Trumpism. It’s what Trump was referring to when he spoke of “the Carlson tapes,” which were actually videos from the Capitol when it was being attacked. And despite having exclusive access to 41,000 hours of video, Carlson utterly failed to present any coherent argument that the rioters were merely innocent and peaceful tourists, as he claimed.

In his speech, Trump also laid out his vision for the near future as he embarks on his presidential campaign…

“2024 is the final battle. That’s going to be the big one. You put me back in the White House, their reign will be over. And America will be a free nation once again. Our enemies are desperate to stop us, because they know that we are the only ones who can stop them.”

So Trump is framing this as an apocalyptic clash that will determine the fate of humankind. He positions himself as the one and only Savior of humanity. And he calls his political opponents “enemies.” All of that is purposefully designed to rile up his glassy-eyed cult followers and prepare them to fight for his ascendency to the throne.

The good news is that Trump’s grunts are too weak, stupid, and lazy to pose any real threat. And while some individual crackpots could still cause serious harm on a small scale, Trump’s incendiary and subversive schemes are destined to fail, as long as the rest of the nation (the vast majority) remain vigilant, unified, and committed to the principles of freedom and democracy.
