Tucker Carlson Throws Butt-Hurt Tantrum Because Eric Swalwell Won’t Return His Call

It has been a busy summer for the Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson. In just the past few weeks Carlson has humiliated himself by making preposterous claims like his paranoid delusion that the NSA is spying on him. And he went on an extended rant smearing a Capitol Police officer who heroically defended the people and the institution from rioters incited by Donald Trump and his “Big Lie” bullpucky that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from him. And so much more.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

Now Carlson, of the perpetually furrowed brow and dumbstruck gaze, is exceeding the worst of his already repugnant resume. On Wednesday Carlson sought to malign Rep. Eric Swalwell in an unhinged tirade that was littered with flagrant falsehoods and purposeful character assassination. In that segment Carlson asserted financial improprieties for which he offered zero evidence. In fact, everything that Carlson cited as improper were actually ordinary campaign expenditures and were accounted for in the formal documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, which is where Carlson got the data.

Nevertheless, Carlson wasn’t satisfied with his noxious assault on Swalwell. So he delivered a second installment on Friday that was even worse than the first. It was apparently triggered by a text exchange earlier in the day wherein Swalwell declined Carlson’s request to call him:

Carlson: Eric, it’s Tucker Carlson. Please give me a call on this number.
Swalwell: Tucker, I’m hesitant to do that. You falsely smeared my wife on Tuesday and she’s getting death threats. That’s way out of bounds. She’s a pregnant mom of a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Hit me all you like. But to go after her. That’s just wrong.
Carlson: Coward.

So Carlson’s response to Swalwell’s perfectly understandable – under the circumstances – refusal to talk was met with a personal insult. And an ironic insult at that, considering Carlson’s notorious and slimy reputation for cowardice. Carlson couldn’t muster a compassionate, or even human response to the disturbing news that Swalwell’s wife was getting death threats due to Carlson’s offensive and inflammatory rhetoric. Here is Swalwell’s tweet of the text exchange and Carlson’s BS retaliation:

https://twitter.com/ArthurSchwartz/status/1418713205791023108

Later that evening, Carlson spent six and a half minutes of his program spewing nauseating lies about Swalwell. It was obviously a petty and abusive retaliation for Swalwell’s perceived snub. It included a slanderous assertion that Swalwell engaged in a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy. That was a totally unfounded lie that Carlson knew was false. Then Carlson told a series of infantile untruths, asserting that Swalwell was dumb and financially corrupt. Carlson had no proof of any of his asinine allegations.

Finally, Carlson went after Swalwell’s wife again. He claimed that a campaign event held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay, California, was improper because “Swalwell’s wife is an an executive at the very hotel.” The only problem with that is that she is not an employee of the hotel and has not been for two years. Again, Carlson had to know this. He was informed of it after his prior false claims on the same matter. And you have to wonder if Carlson has any problem with Trump holding numerous “campaign” events at his own hotel and golf properties, enriching himself in the process.

This fixation on misogynistic attacks on women in public life, often the distinguished and accomplished spouses of political men, is routine for Carlson. He recently launched a nasty and personal assault on First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden. Carlson bizarrely implied that Dr. Biden was somehow like Jim Jones, the Christian cult leader who murdered 900 of his disciples with poisoned Kool-Aid. Then he used a vulgar reference to Nazi sex slaves to describer her.

This is just who Tucker Carlson is. This is typical of his loathsome lack of character and decency. And it is exactly what Fox News wants anchoring their primetime lineup. It is precisely the sort of putrid pandering to the worst impulses in morally defective human behavior. Which, considering their audience, may just be good marketing.

While Carlson gets all the credit for his heinousness, Fox News is responsible for embracing it and broadcasting it to the world. Carlson ought to be fired for this and other atrocities that actually cause great harm to America and Americans. After all Fox News argued in court (successfully) that no reasonable person would take anything he says seriously. But the problem with the “reasonable viewer” standard is that it mistakenly assumes that Carlson has any reasonable viewers.

Why Is Fox News Racist Tucker Carlson Smearing a January 6th Capitol Police Hero?

On Wednesday afternoon House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded appropriately to GOP leader Kevin McCarthy’s transparent attempt to make a mockery of the House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. McCarthy tried to stack the Committee with a pair of fervent foes of democracy, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks. Both of these extremist Republicans are devoted members of the Cult of Trump who support his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from him. The very lie that Trump used to incite the riots in Washington, D.C. in the first place.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, QAnon

No rational person could criticize Pelosi’s decision not to seat Jordan and Banks. It would be like seating Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby (or Donald Trump) on a committee to probe sexual harassment. But Fox News isn’t known for their rational people or analyses. And that’s especially true with regard to Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, who has been on a tear recently with idiocy like his paranoid delusion that the National Security Agency (NSA) is spying on him. Or his dangerously dishonest claim that health authorities know that vaccines don’t work and they aren’t telling you. Or his baseless accusation that the FBI orchestrated the January 6th insurrection.

Consequently, Carlson immediately launched into a predictable condemnation of Pelosi and the Committee’s effort to get to the truth of what happened on January 6th, why it happened, and what led up to it. In the course of his knee-jerk jabbering he somehow managed to take a detour toward a racist attack on a Capitol Police officer who courageously defended the seat of America’s democracy.

Officer Harry Dunn put his own life at risk to protect members of Congress, their staffs, and the Constitution, whose duties the House was in the progress of undertaking. But Carlson was focused solely on his ultra-partisan obsession with slandering Democrats and any unfortunate who happened to be in line of fire. He said (video below)

“So the Committee will proceed with one party. What will it look like. Well, think MSNBC with subpoena power.

“On Tuesday Pelosi will call a Capitol police officer called Harry Dunn. Dunn will pretend to speak for the country’s law enforcement community. But it turns out Dunn has very little in common with your average cop. Dunn is an angry left-wing political activist whose social media feeds are full of praise, not coincidentally, for Nancy Pelosi. Here’s a picture of the two of them together.

“‘Racism is so American,’ Harry wrote in one post, ‘that when you protest it, people think you are protesting America.’ Hashtag ‘Leave it to whites to tell blacks what is racist,’ hashtag ‘I stand with Ilhan Omar,’ hashtag ‘Squad.’ Harry Dunn, ladies and gentlemen. Just another fact-based witness to the insurrection.”

Where upon Carlson introduced his guest, Jim Jordan. Carlson’s rant presents a dumpster of derp that requires some further exploration. First of all, the Committee will not proceed with one party. Pelosi has already appointed one Republican, Liz Cheney, and there could be more. If Carlson has a problem with the make up of the Committee, he should direct his whining to McCarthy who childishly took his ball and scampered away after Pelosi nixed his two most radical opponents of an honest probe.

Secondly, Carlson’s assertion that Dunn would “pretend to speak for the country’s law enforcement community,” is pure fiction. Dunn never claimed to do so, and he isn’t the only member of law enforcement who will be testifying. What’s more, Carlson’s characterization of Dunn as “an angry left-wing political activist” is wholly inappropriate. He is a police officer who was doing his duty during a violent riot without any of the political posturing that marks everything Carlson does or says. Which means that Dunn actually has much “in common with your average cop,” but nothing in common with Carlson.

Thirdly, Dunn is an citizen who has every right to express his opinion outside of his official duties. But Carlson apparently doesn’t believe that Dunn is entitled to the freedoms that every other American enjoys. Could it be because he’s black and proudly supports his people? Well, it’s interesting that Carlson chose to attack Dunn, but not the white officers who are scheduled to testify before the Committee.

Finally, there is another element to this melodrama that needs further attention. Carlson is obviously very upset that Pelosi rejected Banks and Jordan for seats on the Committee. However, he failed to disclose that his son, Buckley Carlson, is Banks’ communications director. So Carlson is enraged that his son’s boss was denied the opportunity to dishonestly distort the events of January 6th, but he didn’t think it was important to reveal that familial connection, a clear conflict of interest and breach of ethics.

That’s the sort of white privilege that is present in much of Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson’s elitist life as the son of a diplomat and the heir to a frozen food fortune. Only now he is combining it with a hatred for police officers, African-Americans, Democrats, and patriots who respect the Constitution. And as usual, Fox News is behind him all the way.

Fox News: Unvaccinated People Dying From COVID? So What? That’s Their Choice

The crusade by Fox News to murder their own audience is continuing at full blast. The ignorant and dangerous advice they are disseminating is directly contributing to the recent surge in coronavirus infections, hospitalizations, and fatalities. Virtually all of those being swept up in that surge (99%) are unvaccinated.

Fox News, Covid

By far, the segment of the American population that is unvaccinated, and refusing to get vaccinated, are Republicans and Fox News viewers. That shouldn’t surprise anyone since Fox News hacks like Tucker Carlson have been actively peddling conspiracy theories that vaccines don’t work, but “they” aren’t telling you. Studies show that watching Fox News actually increases coronavirus fatalities.

On Monday morning the Fox and Friends Death Panel upped the ante. Their discussion touched an imaginary government mandate to get vaccinated that doesn’t exist anywhere in the United States. Nevertheless, co-host Brian Kilmeade went ballistic over that delusional encroachment on what he regards as his personal freedom to die and to kill others:

Kilmeade: If you didn’t get a vaccination, that’s your choice. But if you did, like I did, and they did, and maybe you did, then you should not wear a mask. And if you want to go cliff diving this weekend, you don’t have to check with me. It seems a little dangerous. But I’m not gonna judge you. But if you put yourself in danger, if you feel that this is not something for you, don’t do it. But don’t affect my life.
Doocy: 99% of the people who are dying from COVID are unvaccinated.
Kilmeade: That’s their choice!
Doocy: They don’t want to die. So the administration and government is saying we need the mask mandates to protect the unvaccinated.
Kilmeade: That’s not their job. It’s not their job to protect anybody.

https://twitter.com/davidmweissman/status/1417120102424662016

There’s an abundance of idiocy in that brief exchange. It begins with Kilmeade asserting that everyone who has been vaccinated “should not wear a mask.” That is contrary to the guidance by most health experts and the CDC. Particularly in the midst of the rapidly spreading new Delta variant.

More to the point, Kilmeade’s tirade is reckless, heartless, and senseless. There is no rational equivalence between cliffing diving (a voluntary recreational activity), and COVID (a deadly viral pandemic for which nobody volunteers). What’s more, he includes his insistence that people should be allowed to make their own decisions so long as they “don’t affect my life.” Of course, the decision to not get vaccinated does affect the lives of the population at large because it increases the probability of viral transmission and mutation into more hazardous variants.

Finally, Kilmeade concludes with what he apparently thinks is the coup de gras of his irresponsible and idiotic argument. He claims that it isn’t the government’s job to protect people. He might want to check with the United States Constitution whose Preamble explicitly states as its purpose to “insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, [and] promote the general Welfare.”

If Kilmeade doesn’t believe that government has a role in protecting people, he must think that everything from the FDA to the EPA to even the armed forces are a heinous breach of government authority. He appears to be advocating for poisons in your groceries and toxins in your air and water. He is effectively arguing to disband the military and to defund the police.

Worst of all, Kilmeade and his confederates on Fox News are continuing to push for the rights of people to be inundated with lies that could result in their demise, or that of their loved ones. They are ignoring the fact that everyone has an impact on how the pandemic progresses and how much harm and grief it produces.

The only thing that Fox News and company care about is being opposed to whatever common sense health agenda is proposed by the Biden administration. It’s purely a partisan play that places politics above humanity. And it ought to make them criminally liable for the consequences.

In Predictable Perversion of Reality, Fox News Accuses Texas Democrats of ‘Insurrection’

The state of Texas is the latest to pursue a strategy of blatant voter suppression in order to reinforce their right-wing stranglehold on power. To that end their Republican dominated legislature is frantically trying to pass laws that will make it harder for communities of color and low-income (i.e. Democrats) to cast votes.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Q Shaman

So naturally, the GOP Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News) is doing its part to clamp down on free and fair elections. Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, entered into the fray on this issue with his signature faux outrage and perpetually furrowed brow. Not content to deliver his customary hate mongering tirade, Carlson reached deep into his rhetorical repertoire of sarcasm, arrogance, and dishonesty to contrive a bizarre mangling of reality.

Facing the Republican autocrats determined to tilt all future elections in their favor, the Texas House Democrats left the state in order to deny their oppressors a quorum. And in an Olympic-grade feat of projection, Carlson lambasted the Texas Democrats saying that “they committed what amounted to an act of, yes, insurrection.” He elaborated

“Democrats in the state don’t oppose voter fraud. Nor critically do they believe in multi-party politics. So they stopped the entire process cold. Now preventing lawmakers from making laws, shutting down the vote, would not seem like a defense of democracy. In fact, it would appear to be just the opposite. It would appear to be an assault on the very core of democracy, which is the legislature, the people’s house.

“Even diabolical old Vladimir Putin never attempted to do that. But according to Joe Biden, this time it’s necessary. Sometimes you’ve got to end democracy in order to save democracy. That is, if you’re not a racist. ‘Requiring people to prove their identity when they cast a vote,’ said the President, ‘is an unrelenting 21st century Jim Crow assault.’ Really? How so? Biden never explains, but he didn’t need to. His bootlickers on cable television jumped in to do the talking for him.”

Whereupon, Carlson played a few seconds of excerpts from MSNBC and CNN hosts discussing the GOP’s anti-democracy crusade. After which he complained that they didn’t explain why the Texas bill constituted voter suppression. They actually explained it thoroughly, but Carlson’s clips were purposefully chopped so as to remove all of the relevant context. Then, in a another display of projection, he refers to them as “brainless shills,” when that is a far better description of Carlson and his television flock.

Carlson’s twisted take on insurrection is typical of how he abuses language. Fox News has been denying for months that there was any insurrection at all. And now Carlson wants to be taken seriously while suggesting that a peaceful boycott of a legislative session is equivalent to the violent and deadly riots that evidence shows Donald Trump incited in Washington, D.C. on January 6th (and continues to do so). Carlson is equating lawful public servants with criminal seditionists.

Contrary to Carlson’s flagrant fallacies, the Democrats are actually exercising the liberty that democracy guarantees them. If he wants an example of subverting democracy. he can refer to how Mitch McConnell refused to even allow a vote on over 400 bills passed by the House of Representatives. Or he might weigh in on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s totalitarian threat to arrest the Democrats when they return to the state.

Carlson also felt compelled to malign President Biden, whose speech on voting rights the day before was profoundly moving and informative. Which might explain why Fox News was the only cable news “news” network that refused to air it. Instead of a timely and newsworthy presidential address, Fox chose to cover such crucial stories as Bill Gates’ divorce, a Fox Nation promo, and the “woke” military.

That’s just more proof that Fox is most definitely not a news network. Which makes it the perfect place for a lying propagandist like Tucker Carlson to spew his factless bullpucky for an audience of glassy-eyed cult followers. Where else could he get away with idiocy like his paranoid delusion that the National Security Agency (NSA) is spying on him? Or his baseless accusation that the FBI orchestrated the January 6th insurrection? Or his claim that health authorities know that vaccines don’t work and they aren’t telling you? That’s just how Fox News rolls.

UPDATE: Fox’s Peter Doocy once again found a way to introduce the stupidest perspective possible on this matter:

Tucker Carlson’s Insane Rant that Democrats Are Plotting to Censor Your Text Messages

STOP THE MADNESS! Fox News is demonstrating both their full blown devotion to the Cult of Trump and their impotence with regard to managing the worst purveyors of flagrantly dishonest propaganda and conspiracy crackpottery that populate their network. And both of those obscene circumstances come in the form of perpetually ticked off and furrow-browed Tucker Carlson.

Fox News. Tucker Carlson

On Monday night Carlson delivered another of hallmark harangues. The subject of this one was an atrocity that exists only in his diseased brain. Stepping off the ledge even further into dementia territory, Carlson is now alleging that Democrats are plotting to censor your text messages and other private communications. The very first paragraph was a study in professional bullshittery:

“Last March, as the first big clusters of coronavirus cases started to appear in this country, media executives in Silicon Valley coordinated with officials in Washington to determine how much the public was allowed to know about the growing epidemic that was killing them.”

So Carlson is alleging as fact that there was a convocation of media and techies to coordinate a blueprint for abridging freedom of speech. As usual, he doesn’t bother to present any proof of this gathering, but that’s only because there isn’t any. He went on to say that…

“Today we learned the Biden administration considers censorship is applicable to private speech as well. What you say in private, when you’re alone with your phone, you won’t be able to say or read what you want because the DNC plans to control – and apparently have the ability to control – the flow the information you receive on your phone.”

OMG! According to Carlson the Democratic National Committee can – and is – monitoring your text messages and is intent on censoring what you read and write. That would be horrifying, but for the fact that it’s a claim that isn’t remotely associated with reality. Carlson based the whole thing on an excerpt from an article in Politico that said…

“Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively, and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages.”

Notice that there is nothing in that sentence that asserts any attempt to monitor or censor anything at all. The article was referring to Democratic organizations having ready responses to the potentially deadly lies being peddled by Republican operatives via mass SMS messaging. Liars like Carlson are understandably frightened by fact-checkers and initiatives aimed at disseminating the truth. Politico notes – and Carlson failed to acknowledge – that the goal is to counter right-wing misinformation. For example…

“Turning Point USA has also sent out SMS messages urging people to sign petitions on the topic [of vaccinations]. In one message, viewed by POLITICO, [TUSA Chief Charlie] Kirk contends, ‘Biden is sending goons DOOR-TO-DOOR to make you take a Covid-19 vaccine.'”

That, of course, is a blatant and dangerous lie. It’s fear mongering that has been all over Fox News for the past couple of weeks. And speaking of misinformation, Carlson is engaging in a new rebranding of “alternative facts” wherein he proclaims that “misinformation very often is factually true.” However, anyone with a smidgen of cognitive coherence knows that, by definition, misinformation is literally false. Unfortunately, that standard of cognition would exclude Carlson, who has his own definition of misinformation, and he exploits it to spread more irrational fear about life-saving vaccines:

“Misinformation is anything the Biden administration doesn’t want you to know – including, for example, how effective the COVID vaccines actually are, and what the potential side effects from them might be from taking them.”

Carlson went on to reveal his ignorance of virology – or deliberate deception – by asserting that vaccinated people have no reason to worry about unvaccinated people. “So why is official Washington so angry,” Carlson asks, “at the people who won’t get vaccinated? How precisely do they propose a threat? It makes you think that maybe none of this is really about COVID. Maybe it’s about social control.” No, Tucker, it makes you think that the more available hosts there are, the more the virus can mutant into variants that could put everyone, including vaccinated people, at risk.

Carlson is coming full circle and exposing his true agenda. It is all about “social control,” and his ludicrous claim that “Your private conversations will be controlled by the DNC.” Which he still has failed to affirm with any shred of evidence. But then, nobody expects Carlson to deal in facts, not even his Fox News or their lawyers who defended him court by arguing that no reasonable person would believe anything he says.

Tucker Carlson is ‘Pissed’ at Fox News for Not Backing His Lies About NSA Spying on Him

Are you ready for the food fight of the decade? There appears to be some simmering tensions in the ivory tower home to Fox News. Their top rated host, Tucker Carlson, is reported to be “furious” with the network executives because they aren’t as stupid as his viewers and refuse to believe the idiotic ravings that emanate from his steaming conspiracy factory.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

CNN is reporting that Carlson is hopping mad at the propaganda network’s honchos “for not vigorously defending him amid his evidence-free claims that the National Security Agency spied on him in a conspiracy to destroy his TV show.” One source said that “right now he’s ‘extra pissed.'” This budding feud was ignited when Carlson used his Fox pulpit to disseminate a bizarre allegation that he is being watched by the feds:

“Yesterday, we heard from a whistleblower within the U.S. government who reached out to warn us that the NSA – the National Security Agency – is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air.”

That paranoid delusion is preposterous on so many levels. Firstly, the NSA has better things to do than try to get Carlson’s lame show canceled. Secondly, if they were monitoring him, that would indicate that he, or whoever he was communicating with, was a foreign agent and a national security threat. Thirdly, contrary to Carlson’s embarrassingly stupid musings, there are many other sources who could have allegedly “leaked” his emails to the press, including his producers, hackers, and those he was emailing.

The absence of any comment or support by Carlson’s bosses at Fox News is significant. An allegation that the NSA is spying on one of their primetime hosts would cause any other news organization to object strenuously and demand an explanation and an immediate halt to such unlawful surveillance. But Fox News has said nothing after repeated requests for comment.

That is a clear vote of “no confidence” in Carlson. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone after their own lawyers defended him in a defamation case, successfully arguing that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’ about the statements he makes.” In other words, Carlson’s reputation is so wretched that no reasonable person would believe anything he says.

What’s more, Carlson’s has crossed the line of bombastic babbling many times before. For instance, he baselessly accused the FBI of orchestrating the January 6th insurrection. He claimed that health authorities know that vaccines don’t work and they aren’t telling you. And his recent exposure as an anonymous source who tattled to the press about his Fox News confederates could be his motivation for this NSA bullpucky. He may just be trying to shift attention away from his own betrayal to some imaginary government evildoers. However, in his own defense Carlson said that…

“I’m not mad at anyone at Fox. If I was, I’d say so. I’m mad at you [CNN] for lying relentlessly. What a loathsome person you are. Please print that.”

Well, CNN did print that. And it’s notable that Carlson, despite his impotent indignation, wasn’t able to refute anything that CNN reported about Fox News failing to back up his “bombshell” allegations. When your lies are too ludicrous for Fox News to get behind, a rational and honest person might want to take some time to reconsider. But with “rational” and “honest” being the operative words, that leaves Tucker Carlson out.

Fox News Court Jester Callously Insults People Injured During Trump’s Insurrection

A few weeks ago Fox “News” debuted “Gutfeld,” an alleged “comedy” program that they positioned as their answer to The Daily Show or the network late night offerings from Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon. It would have been considered a bizarre departure for a news network, but fortunately, no one really considers Fox to be one of those.

Fox News Bozo

Guess what? Fox is also not a comedy network. And Greg Gutfeld is only a comedian if you think that crude mockery of people who are disadvantaged or suffering is funny. As a committed elitist, he has still not learned one of the most basic principles of comedy: You do not punch down. And he regards jokes about child abuse, drug addiction, and Alzheimer’s as comedy gold.

On Wednesday Gutfeld led his program with a monologue that mined the same sort of cruelty that is the hallmark of his character, or lack thereof. The subject was Trump’s January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. On that day more than a hundred police officers were injured, some with permanent disabilities. At least three are deceased. They were protecting America’s seat of democratic government, but their sacrifices have been dismissed by Republicans who refuse to investigate what happened and why.

In addition to the police and the members of Congress, journalists were among the victims. They were also, therefore, the targets of Gutfeld’s wrath. His monologue (video below) attacked reporters who are now struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder caused by Trump’s Capitol Hill rioters. He callously belittles the emotionally bruising experience saying of reporters that…

“Apparently seeing a clown in a Viking hat knocking over a bottle of white-out on Dick Durban’s desk is tantamount to being mauled by ISIS in your kitchen.” [and that] “They’re more distraught than the Kardashians during a silicon [sic] shortage.”

Like many in the Trumpian/Fox News World, the rioters who violently assaulted the police, bashed in the doors and windows of the Congress, vandalized property with feces, and chanted about killing Nancy Pelosi and hanging Mike Pence, were invisible. Gutfeld refuses to acknowledge that reality, while characterizing the rioters who assaulted reporters and destroyed their equipment as merely “A group of largely unarmed housewives and dads.”

Gutfeld goes on to sarcastically dismiss the injuries of the journalists. He refers to them contemptuously as “these poor souls” and maligns them for thinking that January 6th was worse than 9/11. But that’s a notion that Gutfeld applied to everyone because a single reporter drew an association. Gutfeld quoted Matthew Dowd saying that…

“To me, though there was less loss of life on January 6, January 6 was worse than 9/11, because it’s continued to rip our country apart and give permission for people to pursue autocratic means.”

Which is an excellent point. Dowd wasn’t saying the loss of life was worse, but that the aftermath socially was. Gutfeld completely missed the point that after 9/11, the country came together to console and to heal and to seek to respond to the assault on America. But after January 6th, conservatives like Gutfeld sought only to divide the nation and defend the perpetrators who attacked it, as well as the citizens who condemned the attack. Trump confessed his “love” for the rioters. And others at Fox News, like Tucker Carlson, denied and/or excused the violence.

And remember, to Gutfeld and his Fox News confederates, all of this was hysterically funny. Dead and maimed cops, traumatized congressional representatives and their staffs, emotionally scarred journalists, were all the innocent targets of his vicious and infantile sense of humor. A regular laugh riot.

CNN’s Killer Video Mash Up: Tucker Carlson is the New Alex Jones

There was some optimistic speculation a few months ago that with the exile of Donald Trump from the White House, the right-wing mouthpieces in the media who supported him would settle down and seek to moderate their flagrant sycophancy and propaganda. As it turns out, that speculation was way too optimistic.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones

If anything, the rightward drift at outlets like Fox News became even more extremist in the post-Trumpian world. This was a predictable path for the fundamentalist conservatives at Fox News. The CEO even publicly declared that being the opposition is “what our job is now with the Biden administration.” And the result is that Fox News is now a network that is indistinguishable from the wildest crackpot outposts on the Internet.

CNN’s media analysts, Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy, noticed this and put together a video mash up that illustrated just how far down the rabid hole Fox’s top primetime host, Tucker Carlson, had descended. The video (posted below) neatly juxtaposed comments by Carlson with nearly identical comments by freakazoid Alex Jones. For instance…

Carlson: The NSA has been reading our emails.”
Jones: It’s not that I think the government spies on me. It’s admitted that they do.

Carlson: It’s a lie to say there are no risks. There are risks in everything. Including in getting a vaccine.
Jones: Everybody’s got family that got killed or got sick from a vaccine.

Carlson: So FBI operatives were organizing the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, according to government documents.
Jones: It overwhelming the evidence that criminal elements of the federal government provocateured and staged January 6th.

What each of those clips have in common is the demented ravings of unhinged lunacy. Neither Carlson nor Jones can support what they’re disgorging with anything resembling a fact. Following the mash up, Stelter asked Darcy “Is it a stretch to say that Tucker Carlson is the new Alex Jones?” to which Darcy replied…

“Tucker Carlson is the new Alex Jones. If you watch Tucker Carlson’s program, and you watch Alex Jones’ program, they might differ a little bit in antics and the way they deliver their message, but that message to viewers is consistent. And it’s pretty identical.

Whether it’s talking about vaccine conspiracy theories, false flag conspiracy theories, deep state conspiracy theories. The messages that Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones are sending are the same. […] These far-right conspiracy theories, they used to be confined to the Infowars section on the Internet. You used to have to seek them out.”

The overriding theme is that both Carlson and Jones are among the media’s foremost promoters of utterly baseless, and demonstrably dangerous, conspiracy nutballery. And they share that compulsion to spread reckless lies with their messiah, Donald Trump, whose “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him just gets more deranged with every passing day.

Carlson has taken sides with Jones before. As recently as February he was defending Jones – along with Vladimir Putin and the Proud Boys – as truthtellers. At this rate Alex Jones should be getting his own show on Fox News by August, just in time to report on Trump’s imaginary return to the White House.

In Desperation, Tucker Carlson of Fox News Resorts to Viciously Maligning Jill Biden

The mission of Fox News, as stated by its CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, is to oppose President Biden and the Democrats. “That’s what our job is now with the Biden administration,” he recently told a Morgan Stanley investor conference. But that apparently isn’t going very well.

Fox News. Tucker Carlson

Fox News is continuing to struggle to make a coherent case against Biden. Consequently, they’ve been resorting to lame, contrived “scandals” like whether or not he wears a face mask, or blaming him for a sauce shortage at Chick-fil-A, or mocking the romance in his marriage. And yet, despite devoting all of their antagonistic resources to it, they just can’t seem to shake his broad-based popularity.

The most stridently offensive perpetrator of unadulterated bullpucky on Fox News is without question Tucker Carlson. He has been wallowing in the muddiest of swamps with hysterical and dangerous conspiracy crackpottery (It’s too absurd to even call them “theories”). For instance…

Having had zero success tarnishing Joe Biden’s public image, Carlson has decided to go after his wife, Jill Biden. In a deranged diatribe on Thursday night, Carlson gathered up his most cretinous scowls and insolent demeanor to launch a flurry of unvarnished contempt at the First Lady (video below). Complaining about a recent profile in Vogue Magazine, he ranted that…

“Dr. Jill is a doctor, first and foremost. In one scene from the Vogue piece, Dr. Jill cradles the arms of nervous women who get the jab. ‘Look at me,’ she coos reassuringly. ‘It doesn’t hurt.’ That’s right. It’s only Kool-Aid. Drink the whole cup. As Dr. Jill puts it with her signature modesty, you try to lift up other people.”

This is typical of the vile misogyny that Carlson, and the rest of the Fox News hate mongers, regularly dish out at any strong, intelligent, and admirable woman. He is belittling her for having attained a doctorate in education. Then implies that her concern for others somehow associates her with a murderous Christian cult. Carlson continued, pouring on the sarcasm…

“Who is this amazing woman? This servant, saint, humanitarian genius medical missionary who somehow has managed to stay beguilingly sexy at 69? What did America do to deserve her? Well thankfully, Vogue answers that question. Dr. Jill, the magazine declares, is a, quote, ‘joy multiplier.’ She multiplies joy. That’s what she does! It’s who she is. And by the way, Dr. Jill also shot an 18 on the golf course last week. Played the whole round in 22 minutes between vaccinations and international treaty signings. It was a typical day for Dr. Jill.”

The irony of Carlson painting Dr. Biden as an object of idolatry is too rich for words. No one has elevated her to anything resembling the figure of adoration that Carlson is insinuating. And there has been nothing remotely similar to the divine status that has been conferred on Donald Trump by his worshipful devotees. Carlson himself is among the most adulatory disciples of the Cult of Trump. And Fox News is cult’s Ministry of Disinformation. But Carlson still wasn’t through…

“Back in North Korea, they must have read the latest issue of Vogue with their jaws open. A ‘joy multiplier’? A ‘joy brigade’ sure. But “joy multiplier’? That might be too far even for the Kim family. North Korea may be a hermit kingdom, but even they’re not that stupid.”

It’s clear that Carlson has fallen over the edge of sanity. He’s now comparing Vogue Magazine to the government controlled propaganda of North Korea. Does he stay up late to figure out these preposterous departures from reality?

Even worse, his reference to Dr. Biden being part of the “joy brigade” is nauseating in the extreme. His not-so-thinly-veiled reference is to the Nazi “Joy Division” that was comprised of young Jewish women in concentration camps who were forced to be sex slaves for German soldiers.

Carlson is demonstrating that he is a disgusting piece of allegedly human trash. He’s a coward who attacks the President’s wife because he’s too stupid to come up with a coherent criticism of the President. And his insults are among the most repulsive imaginable. Nevertheless, Fox News continues to support him, his program, and his noxious views. And their viewers eat it up like good cultists.

SRSLY? Tucker Carlson of Fox News Peddles Paranoid Plot that the NSA is Spying on Him

Just when you thought that the conspiracy theory crackpots of the world had hit rock bottom, Tucker Carlson comes along and blasts through to previously unimaginable new lows. And with his latest lapse into lunacy he has secured for himself the title of uncontested heavyweight Freakazoid of Fox News.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

On Monday’s episode of Carlson’s White Power Hour, he disclosed the alleged existence of a clandestine plot to banish him from television. The architects of this evil, according to Carlson, are undercover operatives of the National Security Agency (NSA). Carlson unleashed this unhinged horror story with his trademarked scowl and furrowed brow (video below):

“It’s not just political protestors the government is spying on. Yesterday, we heard from a whistleblower within the U.S. government who reached out to warn us that the NSA – the National Security Agency – is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air.

Now that’s a shocking claim and ordinarily we’d be skeptical of it. It’s illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens. It’s a crime. It’s not a third world country. Things like that should not happen in America. But unfortunately they do happen, and in this case they did happen.”

That is indeed “a shocking claim.” But only because of how preposterous it is. Despite Carlson’s evidence-free insistence that it all happened, it makes no sense whatsoever. Carlson’s ego is in hyperdrive if he thinks that the NSA would waste any time trying to get his lame show canceled. And before you believe any of Carlson’s hysterics, bear in mind that he is a notorious liar. He was defended in a defamation case by his own Fox News lawyers, who successfully argued that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’ about the statements he makes.” In other words, Carlson’s reputation sucks and no reasonable person would believe anything he says. With that in mind, Carlson continued…

“The whistleblower, who is in a position to know, repeated back to us information about a story that we are working on that could only have come directly from my texts and emails. There is no other possible source for that information, period. The NSA captured that information without our knowledge and did it for political reasons. The Biden administration is spying on us. We have confirmed that.”

First of all, if the NSA were spying on Carlson they would have to have had warrants to do so. That would indicate that either Carlson, or the person(s) he was communicating with, was a foreign agent or other national security threat. Which isn’t much of a stretch considering how he has aided and abetted Russian propaganda. Furthermore, if an NSA agent disclosed an active investigation to a target of the investigation, that isn’t whistleblowing. It’s a felony.

More to the point, Carlson’s ludicrous “factual” declaration that he has “confirmed” that the Biden Administration is spying on him is laughable. The notion that the information Tucker says could only have come from NSA “captured” texts and emails is just plain stupid. It could also have come from any of those he was texting and emailing. Or it could have come from a hacker, such as the Russians who are so enamored of Tucker and his anti-American propaganda. That would fit in perfectly with their efforts to foment fear and distrust of the U.S. government. But Carlson still wasn’t through…

“This morning we filed a FOIA request – a Freedom of Information Act request – asking for all information the NSA and other agencies have gathered about this show. We did it mostly as a formality. We also contacted the press office at both those the NSA and the FBI. We don’t expect to hear much back. That’s the way that usually goes.

Only Congress can force transparency on intelligence agencies. And they should do that immediately. Spying on opposition journalists is incompatible with democracy. If they are doing it to us – and again, they are definitely doing it to us – They are almost certainly doing it to others. This is scary and we need to stop it right away.

It’s cute that Carlson refers to himself as a “journalist.” However, in all probability this is just a totally manufactured and pitiful attempt on Carlson’s part to deflect from the avalanche of criticism he’s received from a recent spate of ridiculous and even brazenly unpatriotic rants. For instance, He has taken incoming from…

After that sort of maniacal misbehavior, Carlson surely needs some distractions to take the heat off. But inventing paranoid plots against him by the NSA seems like a strange strategy to get people to pay less attention to his mental breakdowns. And one has to wonder what his bosses at Fox News think of his rapidly deteriorating cerebral malfunction. No one at Fox has corroborated this “bombshell” allegation, or done any additional reporting on it. They’ve refused to reply to inquiries or even defend Carlson. But knowing Fox, they may just be considering giving him a raise.

UPDATE: The NSA has released a statement deny that they have ever monitored Carlson, which they really didn’t need to do. And, naturally, Carlson called it a “paragraph of lies” but still hasn’t provided any proof.

And this just in: Donald Trump weighed in to say that he finds Carlson’s babbling “totally believable.” Meanwhile, Press secretary Jen Psaki was asked about Carlson’s NSA delusions. She plainly noted that the NSA “focuses on foreign threats and individuals.” In other words, not Carlson.

Reporter: Tucker Carlson said that the NSA is spying on him. Is the administration aware of any espionage or listening efforts on US citizens by the NSA, and is Tucker Carlson one of them?
Jen Psaki: Well, the NSA has, I think you are well aware, everyone’s aware, everyone on this plane is aware, I should say, is an entity that focuses on foreign threats and individuals who are attempting to do us harm on foreign soil. So that is their purview, but beyond that I would point you to the intelligence community.”
