Russian Agent? Sean Hannity Tries to Sabotage Biden Prior to Summit with Putin

Fox News has spent the last twenty-five years pretending to be a “news” network, while posing as a pseudo-patriotic cheerleader for the ultra-rightist agenda it promotes. In reality they have been purveyors of totalitarian style propaganda, while fomenting hostility, division, and a seething antipathy toward the free press.

With the emergence of Donald Trump, Fox News added cult worship to their mission of malicious media. It was a natural evolution for a network whose programs were hosted by preachy politi-vangelists who delivered conservative sermons to their cable disciples.

Leading the parade of pastoral pundits is Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Sean Hannity. And on Wednesday night he revealed just how committed he is to America’s enemies. During a segment that discussed the upcoming summit between President Joe Biden and Russian’s Vladimir Putin, Hannity thought it would be a good idea to undermine the integrity of the United States and to give Putin a boost prior to the conference. So in his most demeaning and infantile manner, Hannity said…

“Mr. President, this might be something to bring up at your big June 16th summit when Vladimir schools you and sees what a cognitive mess you are. And maybe you get a chance to be extra – maybe you should just take the night off. Maybe not a good idea for you to go. Don’t forget, by the way, as we move forward with this, your warm milky and sippy cup.”

So on the eve of a historic summit with profound consequences for the United States, Hannity serves the interests of our Russian adversaries by belittling our President. He conveys to Putin the demonstrably false notion that Biden is cognitively deficient and emotionally handicapped. Hannity is, in effect, cheering on Putin to prevail in the talks that will cover such critical matters as nuclear proliferation, cyber-terrorism, human rights, and military conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Asia.

Now that Hannity has taken Russia’s side, it will be easier for Putin to evade the concerns that the U.S. hopes to address. This makes Biden’s job more difficult because he has to contend with opposition from both Putin and the treasonous Russophiles on Fox News. Hannity should consider adding a hammer and sickle to his show’s logo.

This isn’t the first time that Hannity has sought to portray Biden as mentally unfit. He recently posted this infantile insult on Twitter, which earned him an avalanche of well-deserved mockery:

Hannity has been trying for months, with no success whatsoever, to peddle his childish slander. But the American people, according to a Fox News poll, have already concluded that it’s Donald Trump who is too mentally unsound to serve. Meanwhile, Biden’s favorability continues to surge. Which leaves Hannity and Fox News to resort to pitifully transparent postings of deceptively edited videos.

Just like their Dear Leader Trump, Fox News has to rely on lying and cheating in order to claim any sort of “victory.” But when they actually start rooting for the enemy, and against the best interests of America, they can no longer pretend to be patriots. But then they gave up on that when they pledged their support for the insurrectionist brigades whose failed coup attempt on Trump’s behalf unmasked their traitorous intentions.

Fox News Seeks to Criminalize Fact-Checking to Preserve Their ‘Right’ to Lie

It’s official! Fox News is declaring war on reality. They are so consumed with “alternative facts“ and constructing phony scenarios to advance their ultra-rightist agenda that they have launched an all-out assault on {gasp} fact-checkers. Because the greatest threat to a dedicated purveyor of propaganda is the truth that is embedded in facts.

To a network like Fox News, facts are subversive agents of credible journalism. So in an effort to shield themselves from the embarrassment of being exposed to honesty, Fox has taken an aggressive stance against it. An op-ed that was published on their website asserts that fact-checkers are dangerous because “they have the power to censor what journalism Americans see and consume unilaterally.” Of course, a fact-check would reveal that that isn’t true. Fact-checkers merely hold the media accountable for mistakes and/or deliberate lies. The primary argument made in the article is that…

“Nobody is checking the fact checkers, and it is time that changed. It’s time for government to regulate the fact checking industry. […] We cannot be slaves to orthodoxy if that means Americans are subject not only to lies, but also the censorship of the truth.”

Lying and censoring the truth are long-time components of the Fox News mission statement. So naturally, the notoriously conservative pundits at Fox News, who abhor government regulations, are now advocating for “government to regulate the fact checking industry.” Even worse, they are exempting fact-checkers from protection by the First Amendment. While generously conceding that the Constitution shields the press, the article claims that “third party independent fact checkers are another story entirely.” Really? Most journalists would regard fact-checkers as members of the press.

Among the complaints outlined in the column is the provably false assertion that fact-checking “all occur[s] in one direction, towards the censorship of conservative ideas.” The author doesn’t offer any support for that claim and studies show that the opposite is true. But even if the article was right, it’s only because conservatives are known to be more dismissive of the truth. Their political and ideological leader, Donald Trump, has been documented telling more than 40,000 lies during his term in office. The occurrence of presidential misstatements has declined 85% in the first 100 days of President Biden’s term. Nevertheless, Fox News favors the sledgehammer of government regulation to pound down the fact-checkers. The article highlighted this solution to the imaginary problem:

“A new bill before the Michigan House of Representatives is a move in the right direction. The bill would require fact checkers to register with the government and carry insurance to cover payment to those who suffer financial damages as a result of a bogus fact check.”

Seriously? These are the same ideologues who staunchly oppose registering assault weapons and requiring gun manufacturers to carry insurance to cover those who suffer injury or death. Now they can’t wait for the the regulators to impose an entirely unconstitutional imposition on the press.

Another fundamental absurdity in the article is the author’s constraints on what constitutes a fact. If fact-checkers don’t adhere to his definitions then “they are no longer fact checking and should not be allowed to claim the service they are selling is doing so.”

Fine. Then can we also apply that logic to journalism, and if it doesn’t adhere to the truth then they couldn’t claim to be “news”? If so, Fox would have to drop “News” from their name (a good idea in any case). And to put a cherry on top of it, the article closed with this bit totalitarianism…

“There is nothing special about fact checkers that protects them from regulations requiring them to be fair and honest in their dealings. Those that refuse to operate objectively should be punished for misrepresenting their service.”

Meanwhile, Republicans are already pursuing this censorious agenda. Florida governor Ron DeSantis just signed a bill to punish social media firms (Facebook, Twitter, etc) that ban users who violate their terms of service. That’s the sort of control that conservatives seek over free press and thought.

And all the while they are disseminating blatant lies about election fraud (particularly Trump’s Big Lie), the Capitol Hill insurrection, and the COVID-19 “hoax.”. So it’s no wonder that they are desperate to shut down the fact-checkers. They’re tired of being held to standards of truthfulness that step on their “right” to deceive their dimwitted cult followers.

Walking Dead Voters: Trump’s Delusional ‘Massive Numbers of Dead People’ Voting Rant

The Mental Case of Mar-a-Lago is melting down again. Donald Trump isn’t satisfied with just being an impotent loser. He isn’t content with having incited a violent insurrection on Capitol Hill. Nope. Trump’s ambitions are far more demented than that.

With both federal and state prosecutors bearing down on Trump’s crime sprees, and President Biden taunting him with his surging popularity, the former reality TV game show host is suffering a severe escalation of his psychotic breakdown. On Thursday Trump took to his pitifully lame blog to further propagate the “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. And his “Breaking News” was emblematic of his sickness:

“Breaking News! Massive numbers of dead people ‘voted’ in the 2020 Presidential Election, far greater than anyone has known or seen before. Some of these ‘dead people’ even applied for an application to vote. This is just one of the many fraudulent aspects of the 2020 Presidential Election. People are just now beginning to understand!”

Unfortunately for Trump, what people are beginning to understand is just how acutely debilitated the twice-impeached washout has become. His posting doesn’t cite any source for the assertion that “Massive numbers of dead people ‘voted'” because there isn’t any evidence of it in the real world. Although there was a single incident wherein a voter cast a ballot for Trump in his dead mother’s name. But that hardly represents a rash of voter fraud that is “far greater than anyone has known or seen before.”

While Trump is whining about his delusional massive number of dead voters, he is oblivious to the massive margin of his electoral defeat (more than 7,000,000). He refuses to acknowledge the massive number of lies he’s told (more than 40,000). And worst of all, he’s still ignoring the massive number of dead Americans (nearly 600,000) due to his negligent and incompetent mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just like Bruce Willis in “The Sixth Sense,” (“I see dead voters?”), Trump doesn’t realize that it’s his political life that is deceased. And if he isn’t stopped, his departure from reality is likely to result in more dead Americans at the hands of his treasonous confederates. Matt Gaetz (R-QAnon) is already issuing threats, saying that “We have a 2nd Amendment in this country, and I think we have an obligation to use it.”

Hannity’s Infantile Anti-Biden Tweet Draws a Scorching Backlash Against Trump

No one has ever accused Sean Hannity of being an intellectual giant. And for good reason. He is notoriously uninformed and illogical. His greatest asset as a television pundit is his ability to lie without shame and an inexhaustible supply of arrogance.

On Monday evening Hannity thought he was struck with a brilliant inspiration for a tweet to attack President Biden. It elaborated on a theme that Hannity has been trying to popularize for months, with no success whatsoever. Despite his repeated failures, Hannity’s contention that Biden is mentally deficient is contradicted every time Biden speaks publicly. And the American people (according to a Fox News poll!) have already concluded that it’s Donald Trump who is too mentally unsound to serve.

Undaunted, Hannity tweeted this pathetic bit of childishness…

Seriously? This is the level of political discourse provided by the host of a program that Fox News presents with pride every night in primetime? And ironically this comes from someone who has his own peculiar bedtime rituals. Hannity was known to have nighty-night calls with Trump every night after his show.

In all fairness, it isn’t actually any worse than the rest of Fox’s lineup (i.e. Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends). But the one redeeming factor is that this sort of idiocy is so easy to rebut. And Twitter was ready and willing to take on that duty:

Jen Psaki to Fox News: ‘I Think You’re Misunderstanding How This Process Actually Works’

Monday morning much of the press was reporting that the number of new cases of the coronavirus in the United States has dropped to levels not seen since the summer of 2020. Hospitalizations and deaths have similarly declined. And the Biden administration’s management of vaccination efforts has led to 50% of adults in half the country being fully vaccinated.

However, as most of the media continues to report the positive aspects of the COVID pandemic trends, there is some downside focus in certain areas. Not surprisingly, the half of the country that has not reached that 50% milestone are mostly Southern and/or Republican states. And the press that is downplaying this news, or not reporting it at all, is, of course, Fox News. At Fox they have more pressing matters to attend to. Like the fake international incident caused by Vice-President Kamala Harris.

It is the objective of Fox News to either ignore any of the success of the Biden administration or to invent failures. For instance, recent Fox News fakeries included a “scandal” over Biden wearing a face mask, and Sean Hannity posting a flagrantly deceptive video of Biden.

So while there is much to be grateful for as the nation gets closer to whatever it was we thought was normal before the pandemic, Fox News strives to increase the national anxiety level. That was evident in the daily White House press briefing on Monday as Fox’s Peter Doocy engaged in this exchange with press secretary Jen Psaki about the speculation over where the coronavirus originated (a “scandal” that Fox News is foremost in hyping):

Doocy: With 589,920 dead Americans, at what point does President Biden say, “We don’t want to wait for the WHO (World Health Organization). We don’t know what they’re doing. This needs to be an American led effort to get to the bottom of what happened.”
Psaki: Well, first of all, we need access to the underlying data and information in order to have that investigation.
Doocy: But he talks all the time about how he’s known President Xi for a long time. So why can’t he just call?
Psaki: I think you’re misunderstanding how this process actually works. An international investigation led by the World Health Organization is something that we’ve actually been pressing for for several months, in coordination with a range of partners around the world. We need that data. We need that information from the Chinese government. What we can’t do, and I would caution anyone doing, is leaping ahead of an actual international process. We don’t have enough data and information to jump to a conclusion at this point in time.

It’s nice to see that after a year of downplaying COVID-19 as a flu or a hoax, Fox News seems to be concerned about its victims. Needless to say though, Doocy did not grasp Psaki’s response, or didn’t want to. So he rephrased his question and asked it again. Psaki patiently tried to educate Doocy that the U.S. can’t unilaterally investigate something that happened in another country.

It’s sad that Doocy needs to be told that Biden can’t just ring up Xi on the phone and ask him “Wassup with that virus thing?” He also can’t send in CIA operatives to interrogate Chinese officials, or Navy Seals to steal file cabinets with secreted data. This has to be handled with diplomacy by a neutral agency that has authority granted by the international community.

The purpose of Doocy’s apparent inability to comprehend this is simply to leave an impression that Biden is isn’t doing all that he can do to get to truth about the virus’ origins. His assignment wasn’t to elicit information, but to pose questions that act as statements and to malign the President in the process.

However, Psaki correctly points out that Doocy just doesn’t understand how international investigations work. And she drives home the point that the administration’s goal with regard to the virus’ origins is “the desire to know how this started, where it started, and to prevent it from ever happening again.” So all Doocy accomplished was to make himself look like a dope with a partisan agenda. Which he has proven repeatedly is not much a of a stretch for him.

Fox News Ignores Biden’s Infrastructure Plans to Obsess Over His Wearing a Face Mask

President Biden has really been causing trouble for Fox News. For the past four months he has demonstrated a high level of competency and compassion as a leader. That is driving the folks at Fox nuts. And Biden, the swine, is probably doing it on purpose. Likewise he is striving to be “boring” as another means of tormenting the Foxies. Worst of all, Biden is achieving verifiable progress on the nation’s most critical issues such as the economy and the COVID pandemic. His success is evident in his high approval polling and the popularity of the Democratic agenda.

Consequently, fox News has had to struggle to come up with derogatory story lines on the President. You might think that they would be pretty good at this considering how much “news” they make up themselves. But their record is pretty sad. It consists mainly of trivialities like blaming Biden for sauce shortages at Chick-fil-A, and his fiendish plot to “take down America.” That’s when they aren’t dispensing flagrant racism or hyping abstract and artificial notions like “cancel culture” and “wokeness” that nobody really understands.

On Tuesday morning Fox News assigned their intrepid White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, to tag along with the President to a Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan. While there, Fox News chose not to broadcast any of Biden’s speech (full video below) that covered salient portions of his infrastructure agenda, as well as plans to address the climate crisis and job creation. Instead, Doocy delivered this breaking news exclusive report:

“The President is saying a lot by showing us what he’s wearing. We have some new video. You can see at an electric vehicle plant in Dearborn, Michigan, he has got a face mask covering his mouth and nose. Which conflicts with the CDC guidance that you don’t have to do that, or socially distance indoors or outdoors as long as you are vaccinated. Which the President has been since before taking the oath of office.”

Doocy is also “saying a lot by showing us” what he regards as newsworthy reporting. Never mind that Doocy didn’t bother to ascertain whether or not there was a company policy at the plant that required masks. That appears likely since everyone else in the video was wearing them. Doocy also didn’t address whether the other people in the video had been vaccinated. And Doocy misrepresented the CDC guidance which actually says that masks should be worn indoors with people who aren’t vaccinated.

This is what happens when a propaganda network is incapable of concocting “scandals” to denigrate their ideological foes. It’s a pathetic spectacle of futility that will fall flat for everyone except for their loyal and gullible regular viewers. But to what end? Fox already has them convinced that Biden is a radical socialist dictator. Does is it really make any difference if they also think he’s one of them mask wearing libruls?

Crime of the Century? Rage-a-Holic Trump Lashes Out at GOP, Fox News, and Newsmax

It’s been six months since the 2020 presidential election was won decisively by Joe Biden. It’s been four months since Biden was inaugurated. And yet, the “Big Lie” that the election was “stolen” and/or “rigged” by a cabal of thousands of conspirators continues to eat away at Donald Trump. It is, according to Trump “The Crime of the Century!”

Never mind that this cabal would have to include participants from both the Democratic and Republican parties, both of whom control the fifty states that have certified the voting results. And multiple nations would also have to be among the anti-Trump colluders, including Venezuela, Ukraine, and Germany. Sixty judges, many of whom were appointed by Trump, and the Supreme Court as well, are, in Trump’s diseased mind, all out to deny him a second term as president.

And on it goes. On Saturday morning Trump posted a series of comments on his laughably lame new blog (which was down for most of the morning). These bug-eyed outbursts speak for themselves as to the mental deterioration of the Former Guy. It went something like this…

“As our Country is being destroyed, both inside and out, the Presidential Election of 2020 will go down as THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY!”

This is a “crime” that has no evidence whatsoever to prove that it was committed. Dozens of courts dismissed it as unsupported, frivolous, and totally lacking legal foundation.

“The 2020 Presidential Election was, by far, the greatest Election Fraud in the history of our Country. The good news is, the American people get it and the truth is rapidly coming out! Had Mike Pence had the courage to send the Electoral College vote back to states for recertification, and had Mitch McConnell fought for us instead of being the weak and pathetic leader he is, we would right now have a Republican President who would be VETOING the horrific Socialistic Bills that are rapidly going through Congress.”

Trump is actually correct that “the American people get it.” By significant majorities (62%), voters believe that the election was free and fair. Although gullible Republicans continue to buy the Big Lie myth. Despite that, Trump is still mad at Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell for not finding a way to violate the law and declare Trump president-for-life.

“Fox News is afraid to cover it—there is rarely a mention. Likewise, Newsmax has been virtually silent on this subject because they are intimidated by threats of lawsuits. One America News (OAN), one of the fastest growing networks on television, and the “hottest”, is doing a magnificent job of exposing the massive fraud that took place. The story is only getting bigger and at some point it will be impossible for the weak and/or corrupt media not to cover. Thank you to OAN and other brave American Patriots. It is all happening quickly!”

In addition to the weaklings that Trump has branded as traitors, he is also perturbed at his Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) and the even more sycophantic Newsmax. But there is good reason to be concerned about lawsuits considering that Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic have both filed defamation suits against Fox News and Newsmax. However, OAN is hardly a fast growing network. It has so few viewers that it isn’t even tracked in the Nielsen ratings.

Trump’s persistence in continuing his futile war on democracy is only making him and the GOP look ever more delusional. Which wasn’t that difficult to begin with. The House Republican minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, told Sean Hannity this week that “I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election.” Someone should introduce McCarthy to Trump. Their shared inability to comprehend reality might make them perfect match.

SRSLY? House GOP Leader Heaps Praise on Trump for Sleeping Less than Biden

The political debate in America has significantly devolved since Donald Trump rose to (and fell from) power. Trump’s idea of a substantive argument is to either fling infantile insults at his opponents, or to exalt himself for things he’s never done. And Fox News hasn’t helped with their manic promotion of trivial issues like the “cancelling” of Mr. Potato Head, or President Biden being responsible for a sauce shortage at Chick-fil-A.

On Friday evening’s episode of Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, the House Republican minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, was interviewed along with the GOP Whip, Steve Scalise, and the newly installed GOP conference chair, Elise Stefanik. That trio at the top of the Republican food chain have the distinction of all having voted to overturn the election on behalf of their messiah Trump.

During the interview, Hannity sought to elicit some commentary from his guests that would cast Biden as unfit to serve. That led to this exchange with McCarthy:

Hannity: What observations did you see as it relates to the President? Did he seem engaged? Did he have a high level of energy? You’ve been around Donald Trump, you’ve been around Joe Biden. What’s the difference between the two men?
McCarthy: This is the first time I saw Joe Biden as President since he’d been – I saw him at inaugural and State of the Union night. He was with it, and he was engaging, and he was giving me numbers, and he was talking. But at no time, having known Joe Biden for quite some time, does he have the energy of Donald Trump. We both know it. Donald Trump didn’t need to sleep five hours a night.

Hannity must have been bitterly disappointed that McCarthy acknowledged Biden’s engagement and grasp of detail. Hannity has been trying in vain to portray Biden as “weak, frail, and struggling cognitively.” But McCarthy’s response failed on multiple levels.

First of all, the assertion that Trump was bursting with energy is contradicted by four years of unprecedented presidential sloth. Trump didn’t begin his work day until 11:00am. He refused to sit through daily briefings. He insisted on what his staff called “executive time,” that consisted primarily of tweeting and watching Fox News. And he has spent a record amount of time on the golf course (usually at his own properties) that accounts for upwards of 20% of his time in office. And who can count the wasted hours Trump spent performing his psycho-comedy routine for the cultish followers at his campaign rallies?

What’s more, McCarthy’s admiration of Trump’s “wokeness” is a peculiar argument. Lack of sleep is not an indicator of strength. It’s an illness with severe consequences. Sleep deprivation diminishes mental acuity, produces hallucinations, and causes anxiety and psychoses. There’s a reason that it’s often used as a form of torture. So no one should be impressed that Trump doesn’t get sufficient sleep. And if Trump is suffering from insomnia, it would be interesting to know what’s causing it. Some common causes are anxiety, stress, depression, and medications such as Adderall.

America can rest comfortably knowing the President is getting sufficient sleep to competently do his job. But we still have to worry about the fact that the hopelessly lost Republican Party is controlled by “Sleepy Don” and the “Big Lie” spreaders at the top of the GOP pile. Then again, that may be the best thing that can happen for Democrats.

Fox News (And Trump) Whines that Trump Didn’t Get Credit for Vaccine They Say Kills People

Historical revisionism is one of the primary functions of Fox News. They are working hard to misinform their gullible viewers on a wide range of subjects. They have already succeeded in convincing them that Donald Trump was the real winner of the 2020 presidential election. Now they are trying to peddle the blatant lie that the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol was just a day at the park.

In addition to those fallacies, Fox News is collaborating with Trump to make sure that Trump gets the credit he imagines that he deserves for personally creating the COVID vaccines and saving the world. On Friday morning Fox News interviewed Republican Senator Shelley Moore Capito. Host Bill Hemmer managed to contort a question with a preface suggesting that President Biden had cheated Trump out of the glory that he believes is rightfully his. Hemmer asked…

“Were you struck by the fact that the President did not make a single mention of Operation Warp Speed?”

Not surprisingly, Capito replied that credit should be given where it’s due, and that means to Trump. Never mind that Operation Warp Speed played no role in the development of the first vaccine that became available in the U.S. (Pfizer). Hemmer’s loaded question not only falsely implied that Trump was entitled to recognition for the vaccines, but that Biden was rude not to have mentioned it.

The only thing Trump deserves credit for is his negligence, incompetence, and deliberate malfeasance, that resulted in the deaths of more than half a million Americans, and the illness of hundreds of thousands more. Trump downplayed the severity of the pandemic from the start. He promised that it would disappear by magic when only a few hundred people had died. He proposed treating it with bleach and ultraviolet light. And he failed to put in place a plan to distribute and administer the vaccine.

Other than that, Trump was a perfectly nauseating attention hog who had endless praise for himself. And he continues to play that demented character for his cult followers. Less than an hour after the segment on Fox News, Trump posted a comment on the hysterically lame blog that he set up because he was booted off of Twitter. He wrote that all he wanted was “Just a mention please!,” and then asked…

“Isn’t it incredible that because of the vaccines, which I and my Administration came up with years ahead of schedule (despite the fact that everybody, including Fauci, said would never happen), that we no longer need masks, and yet our names are not even mentioned in what everybody is calling the modern day miracle of the vaccines? […] The Biden Administration had zero to do with it. All they did was continue our plan of distribution, which was working well right from the beginning!”

So Trump and his administration came up with the vaccines? It wasn’t the scientists and doctors who were working on them long before Trump’s “Warped” speed sham? And notice that Trump isn’t expressing any gratitude for the lives saved by Biden’s successful inoculation project. The only thing Trump demonstrates any interest in with this comment is satisfying his own voracious ego and maligning his foes.

It’s rather odd that Trump and Fox News are now so insistent that Trump be celebrated for “his” vaccine. This is the vaccine that Trump received himself in secret. For months Fox News and the rest of Rupert Murdoch’s media empire have been scare mongering about the vaccine. Tucker Carlson is convinced that it doesn’t work, but that government overlords will force it on you. The New York Post has been publishing stories about how it is supposedly killing people.

All of that notwithstanding, Trump is now whining that he isn’t getting credit for the vaccine. He can’t understand why he isn’t being celebrated for his selfless devotion to the cure. But that’s a typical reaction for a malignant narcissist. And for Trump it’s just another day of exalting himself and disparaging others. To Trump, nothing else matters.

BUSTED: Sean Hannity of Fox News Attacks Biden With Maliciously Edited Video

Following his inauguration, Fox News wasted no time viciously denigrating President Joe Biden. Before the first day was over Fox had already done a story about “Biden’s Disastrous First Week.” Four months later Fox is still pounding out the same dishonest message. This week they did another story about what they falsely characterized as “Battered Biden under siege as crises confound the White House.”

In the real world, Biden is enjoying one of the most productive and popular presidencies in modern times (which is driving Fox News crazy). He ushered through a two trillion dollar pandemic relief and stimulus plan. He rejoined the Paris Climate Accords. He signed numerous executive orders reversing much of the damage done by Trump. He is advancing historic infrastructure legislation. He’s moving forward expeditiously on reforms for race/police, immigration, gun safety, taxes, and voting rights. And he effectively managed COVID vaccine programs that have already resulted in nearly 50% the country being at least partially vaccinated. That’s a sharp contrast to Donald Trump who has become America’s Biggest Loser.

Among the most prolific purveyors of falsehoods in Fox’s “Bullshit Factory” is Sean Hannity. He has spent most of his time for the past year maligning Biden as “frail, weak, cognitively struggling Joe.” It’s become an endless loop that Hannity repeats ad nauseum in the hopes that his shtick will stick. But Biden refuses to cooperate, and instead speaks with sincerity and intelligence.

Since Hannity can’t make a coherent argument to support the insults he aims at Biden, he has now resorted to producing deliberately deceptive videos that were edited to make Biden look bad. On Wednesday night Hannity played one such video. Hannity introduces the clip in a manner that he thinks is disparaging to Biden, but which actually makes Hannity sound like a cranky seven year old. The subject was the recent cyber-attack on Colonial Pipeline that temporarily disrupted gasoline distribution (and that GOP wackos blame on Biden. Hannity called it “Joe Biden’s ongoing gas crisis” and complained that…

“Joe Biden didn’t want to talk about it. He was too worried and concerned he’d get in trouble if he answered too many questions. And his staff threatened, I guess, not to give him his hot cocoa before his afternoon nappy. […] When Joey addressed the crisis his remarks were pretty bizarre.”

Hannity’s assertion that “Biden didn’t want to talk about it” because he was “concerned he’d get in trouble,” was triggered by an obvious joke on Biden’s part. But the humor-challenged Hannity was too dense and consumed by hostility to get it. Then his inner toddler took over to whine about cocoa and naps.

However, the video posted below shows both Hannity’s edited segment as well as the uncut exchange between Biden and the reporter who made the inquiry. The uncut clip shows that Biden answered the question clearly and substantively. But Hannity’s version removed all of that and resumed the video later at a point where Biden’s remarks appear to be unrelated because they are out of context.

This is as dishonest as it gets. And it is sad that it was presented on a cable network that has the word “news” in its name. But it affirms just how unethical Hannity is, and Fox News as well for employing him.
