Judge Dismisses Trump’s Loopy Lawsuit Against Twitter for ‘Failure to Plausibly State a Claim’

Throughout his public life, Donald Trump has tried to exploit the judicial system for profit or as a means of intimidating his foes. And, for the most part, he has succeeded only in wasting the court’s time and humiliating himself.

Donald Trump, Constitution

On Friday a United States District Court judge dismissed Trump’s lawsuit against Twitter. He filed the suit last year alleging a series of pitifully lame complaints that had no legal basis.

RELATED: Trump Declares that ‘I Am Not Going Back On Twitter’ After the Elon Musk Takeover

The suit sought “to order an immediate halt to social media companies’ illegal, shameful censorship of the American people.” By which he means himself being held accountable for his unconscionable remarks that incited an insurrection. As reported by CBS News

“A judge dismissed a lawsuit former President Trump brought last year against Twitter and its then-CEO Jack Dorsey. The social media giant had sought to dismiss the suit, which Trump filed after Twitter banned him from its platform, for ‘failure to plausibly state a claim.’

“Trump, the American Conservative Union and five other people claimed Twitter violated their right to free speech under the First Amendment after it ‘censored’ their accounts. U.S. District Judge for Northern California James Donato rejected their argument because Twitter is a private company, and the free speech clause in the Constitution applies only to the government. The judge found no evidence that Twitter acted on behalf of government officials, as plaintiffs also alleged.”

After occupying the White House for four years, Trump still doesn’t have the even the simplest grasp of the Constitution. Which is why he expected the court to take seriously his ludicrous demand…

“‘…to an end to the shadow-banning, a stop to the silencing and a stop to the blacklisting, banishing and canceling that you know so well,’ Trump said at the time. ‘I am confident that we will achieve a historic victory for American freedom and at the same time freedom of speech.'”

So much for Trump’s confidence in the legal nonsense that he and his incompetent lawyers burdened the court with. This suit joins several others that he filed recently that were equally as preposterous. Such as…

These lawsuits are emblematic of the idiocy that permeates Trump’s misunderstanding of the law. But they will surely not be the last attempts by Trump to abuse the justice system and fleece his glassy-eyed flock for funds to fight these futile legal battles. Which, in the end, is all that this is really about, and all that he cares about.

Trump Declares that ‘I Am Not Going Back On Twitter’ After the Elon Musk Takeover

America’s oligarchy is exercising it’s privilege once again as the world’s richest man drops a few of his billions of dollars to add Twitter to the playroom in his ultra-exclusive world. Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media giant is profoundly significant due to its influence on politics, journalism, and culture.

Donald Trump

The debate over how dangerous this is for society in America – and the world – is complex and will unfold in the weeks to come as Musk’s intentions are revealed. However, in the short term we already have some news about a famous former tweeter. Donald Trump didn’t waste any time telling Fox News (who else) what the Musk acquisition means to him. According to Fox News

“Former President Trump will not return to Twitter, even as Elon Musk purchases the social media company and reinstates his account, instead using his own TRUTH Social as the sole platform for his voice. […] The former president told Fox News Monday that he will formally join his own TRUTH Social over the next seven days, as planned.

“‘I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,’ Trump told Fox News. ‘I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.’ […] He added: ‘The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter.'”

Let’s set aside for the time being that Trump lies far too often to take anything he says seriously. If Twitter were to offer to reinstate his account, it’s ridiculous to suggest that he would rebuff the offer because he’s “staying on TRUTH” Social (TS). How can he “stay” on a platform that he has posted on only once nearly two months ago, and from which he has been conspicuously absent ever since? He couldn’t even get the name straight at his recent rally, calling it “Troth Sential.”

Trump was, and is, a Twitter addict (his spokes-shill still posts for him daily in defiance of Twitter’s own rules). And he isn’t likely to trade access to his 84 million Twitter followers (most of which were bots or fakes) for a fraction of that on TS. Trump went on to say that…

“‘We’re taking in millions of people, and what we’re finding is that the response on TRUTH is much better than being on Twitter,’ Trump said. ‘Twitter has bots and fake accounts, and we are doing everything we can.'”

Actually, TS has assigned a little over a million wait list numbers to people who have tried to sign up. Most of them still have not been able to log on. And as for fake accounts, there have already been a multitude of them on TS. The site even “verified” a Fox News account that Fox denied having anything to do with.

RELATED: Trump’s PRAVDA, er, TRUTH Social Twitter Clone Flops as it Misses Yet Another Launch Date

What’s more, there is so little interaction on TS that the users who are online have complained that it is an echo chamber of fellow cultists whose homogeneous agreement is terminally boring. And now Trump is promising that it’s going to get even worse…

“‘This is a platform for my voice. TRUTH is a platform for my voice and for my supporters,’ Trump said. ‘But I want everybody to come over to TRUTH—conservatives, liberals, whatever. […] ‘TRUTH Social will be a voice for me,’ Trump continued. ‘And that’s something nobody else can get.'”

It isn’t an accident that Trump keeps referring to the site as simply “TRUTH.” There is nothing “Social” about it. Like everything else in Trump World, it is about him and only him. And he isn’t shy about saying so explicitly.

RELATED: Trump’s TRUTH Social Boss, Devin Nunes, Tells Fox News that ‘Twitter is a Ghost Town’

The worst part of all of this, from Trump’s perspective, is that the site may never even become viable. The shell company that is serving as its Wall Street proxy (DWAC) declined another 12.9% today. It has cratered 64% since the beginning of March. Reuters is reporting that key personnel are abandoning ship and that…

“Another open question is how TMTG is funding its current growth. The company is planning to go public through a merger with blank-check firm Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) . The deal is under scrutiny by the Securities and Exchange Commission and is likely months away from being finalized. […] Investors have pledged $1 billion to TMTG but they won’t hand over that money until the DWAC deal closes.”

So the the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and DWAC deal is likely another illegal Trump scam that will never go through. And when it fails Trump won’t get any of the money that has allegedly been pledged. More likely it will result in investor lawsuits that will cost him and his accomplices a fortune.

As for Twitter’s future under Musk, Jessica J. González of Free Press recently published an editorial that exposes how truly awful the site could be under Musk. She wrote that…

“Musk’s ability to be an accountable steward of this massive online community is questionable at best. […] he has a poor track record of protecting other Twitter users and respecting their free speech. He has used the platform to discredit and disparage those who disagree with him, and he has lashed out at journalists who have written or produced things he didn’t like.”

Musk’s pretense of advocating for free speech is utterly insincere. It is a pathway to tolerating hate speech and disinformation that divides people and incites violence. It would make Twitter unbearable for most decent users, as well as advertisers. And it doesn’t help that Musk has been sued for “racial discrimination and harassment after finding a widespread pattern of mistreatment of Black workers” at his Tesla plant. So look for Twitter to collapse unless its executives and board of directors manage to keep Musk’s worst instincts in check.

SRSLY? Trump’s TRUTH Social Boss, Devin Nunes, Tells Fox News that ‘Twitter is a Ghost Town’

What do wingnut Republican scam artists do when their much ballyhooed business ventures go bust? Well, if you’re Devin Nunes, the former congressman and fake farmer who is now the CEO of Donald Trump’s pathetic Twitter clone, TRUTH Social, you go on Fox News and tell flagrant lies about how successful you are.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Devin Nunes

Trump’s TRUTH(less) (Anti)Social ME-dia platform is proving to be the biggest bomb on his wretched resume that already includes shuttered operations for his self-branded casinos, steaks, vodka, airlines, and universities. Nunes was unable to deliver on his promise that the site would be fully open for business by the end of March. Losers -er- users have been unable to log on. It has seen its signups decline by 93% since its “soft” launch..

Trump doesn’t even use the site. He posted a single “truth” a month ago and hasn’t been back to tend to his flock since. Therefore, Nunes (or perhaps Trump) determined that it was time to hit Fox News with some Grade A BS. He visited with Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer Maria Bartiromo (fresh off of fretting that Obama is secretly running the country) and unloaded these whoppers:

Bartiromo: What is your reaction to Elon Musk taking a 9% stake in one of your competitors, certainly, Twitter.
Nunes: I think it’s very interesting because the goal that president Trump has, and I have, and our team here at TRUTH Social, is to open the Internet back up so that the American people can get their voice back. So it’s clear that Twitter is kind of a ghost town. They desperately need Elon Musk to be there, so it’s probably something that Elon wants to do. He probably believes in free speech like we do. But at the same time there’s not very much activity over at Twitter right now, especially when you compare it to sites like ours where we’re just in our beginning stages as we continue to test and bring people on day by day. Our interactions are already beating twitter.'”

So according to Nunes “Twitter is kind of a ghost town,” where there is “not very much activity.” Those lies are demonstrably untrue. But they weren’t enough for Nunes. He had to elaborate with the ludicrous assertion that TRUTH Social’s “interactions are already beating twitter.” Which should make one wonder what fumes he has been inhaling.

Even Trump has noticed the stink that TRUTH Social is emitting. He is said to be furious about the site’s failure, berating his aides and demanding to know “What the f*ck is going on?” Meanwhile, anyone who invested in Trump’s boondoggle has probably lost a bundle. News Corpse reported recently that the stock of the sham that was set up as a holding company for the business had dropped by some 37% in the first two weeks of March. It’s now down more than 50%. And according to Reuters, key personnel are abandoning ship. They also reported that…

This could be the worst part of all for Trump, and an explanation for his fury. It means that he may not be able to extract his share of the ill-gotten loot. Which, in all likelihood, was the only reason he got involved in it to begin with. And if Trump gets skunked, look for Nunes to be back in the fields with the cows he tried to sue.

Trump’s PRAVDA, er, TRUTH Social Twitter Clone Flops as it Misses Yet Another Launch Date

America’s Biggest Loser is once again demonstrating just how adept he is at failing. Donald Trump has a record of business catastrophes that is unparalleled in modern times. His numerous, and narcissistically self-branded projects – from airlines to games to steaks to vodka – all ended as humiliating fiascos. Even his prized real estate ventures have proven to be duds.

Donald Trump, Twitter

Now Trump’s latest scam – the hysterically named TRUTH Social – is joining the club. Devin Nunes, the former congressman and fake farmer who Trump tapped to be the company’s CEO, promised two weeks ago that the Twitter clone’s website would be fully open for business by the end of March. Well, here we are, but there appears to be little evidence of life on Trump’s pouty platform.

RELATED: Trump’s TRUTH Social Twitter Ripoff Follows in the Footsteps of His Prior Failures

TRUTH(less) (Anti)Social has been unable to accommodate new users trying to sign up. A few hundred thousand of the Trump faithful are languishing on a stalled waiting list. Those who have gained access have found an echo chamber of fellow cultists whose homogeneous agreement is terminally boring. Trump doesn’t even use the site. He posted one comment a month ago and hasn’t been heard from since. What’s more, by all indications the app is not setting the social media world aflame. The Wrap reports that…

“Former president Donald Trump’s Truth Social app is seeing a 93% drop in signups and similarly steep decline in traffic after a rocky rollout last month fraught with technical issues and an extensive waiting list for new signups to actually use the service.”

None of this is going down well at Mar-a-Lago. Trump is said to be furious that his attempt to beat Twitter at their game has cratered so badly. The Daily Beast reports that…

“In recent weeks, sources have heard the former president on the phone swearing gratuitously and asking things like, ‘What the f*ck is going on’ with Truth Social. He’s repeatedly groused about the negative press and the less-than-stellar optics of the rollout, these sources said. And he’s demanded to know why more people aren’t using it—why the app isn’t swiftly dominating the competition.”

Trump has done more than demand to know why his baby is such a disaster. He has also been issuing impotent orders in utter desperation. He recently begged his glassy-eyed disciples to abandon Twitter and called for it to be outlawed, saying that…

“They shouldn’t be allowed to do business in this Country […] Everybody should drop off of Twitter and Facebook. They’re boring, have only a Radical Left point of view, and are hated by everyone. They are a disgrace to our Nation.”

Who would have thought that a former reality TV game show host could have bombed so spectacularly in both business and politics? Trump has the unique distinction of having lost the popular vote twice, being impeached twice, and never having an approval rating that hit 50%. And it only got worse from there.

Following his occupation of the White House, Trump incited a deadly insurrection and spent the next fifteen months whining about alleged election fraud for which he he could provide no evidence. And now he is tightening his treasonous embrace of Vladimir Putin. It makes one wonder how any rational person would consider investing in him as a businessman or a politician.

It’s safe to assume that Trump’s tribulations will continue for the foreseeable future. He has proven the newly coined adage represented by the acronym ETTD: Everything Trump Touches Dies. But at least he succeeded in getting Devin Nunes out of Congress and ridding Twitter of some its most annoying trolls.

Trump’s TRUTH Social Twitter Ripoff Follows in the Footsteps of His Prior Failures

If there is one thing that is consistent about Donald Trump, it’s his unchallenged status as America’s biggest loser. He has seemingly boundless ability to screw up everything he touches. The former reality TV game show host, who was evicted from the White House after a single disastrous term, also has a resume of humiliating failure that is unmatched. It includes his four bankrupt casinos, his fraudulent university, his steaks, his vodka, his airline, his D.C. hotel, his scam charitable foundation that was shut down because it was stealing funds, and so much more.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

Trump also bears the dishonor of being the first president in history to be impeached twice. He is the first president in decades to leave office with fewer people employed than when he started. He exploded the national debt by cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy. He incited deadly riots in Washington, D.C. by insurrectionist mobs. And he is directly responsible for the deaths of nearly a million Americans due to his incompetent mishandling of the COVID pandemic.

Now Trump has proudly launched what he delusionally believes will supplant Twitter in the social media space. But his ironically named “TRUTH” Social (named after Russia’s news outlet Pravda, which means truth?) got off to an ignominious beginning. As reported by the Daily Beast

“Would-be users of Trump’s new app merely struggled to create an account after Sunday night’s launch. Around 11 p.m. ET, select users who tried to create accounts were repeatedly met with a red error warning: ‘Something went wrong. Please try again.'” […]

“On Sunday, Devin Nunes, the former Republican congressman-turned-CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, said that he hopes the new app will be fully operational by the end of March.”

This inauspicious introduction was met with appropriate mockery. Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu tweeted that “Many people say that if #TruthSocial can’t even handle opening new accounts, how will it keep your account from being hacked? Also, the problems won’t be fixed until late March. So is their staff like 2 people, the failed Devin Nunes and his cousin’s friend who is the coder?”

From the other side of the aisle Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger also tweeted that “Social media sadly thrives on conflict. #truthsocial (which is ironically named) will be boring and fail, because it will be all Trump-fed drones. BUT, please don’t come back to real social media if you left for Trump and Nunes great idea. You get your one shot.”

These are all good points. What’s more, it bears noting that TRUTH Social’s user base has a ways to go before it can considered competitive with Twitter’s 200,000,000 users. At present there is a significant difference in the potential for interactions between the two platforms. For instance, Trump had more than 88,000,000 followers on Twitter. He has 175 followers on TRUTH Social. Country singer Travis Tritt has 286,000 followers on Twitter. He has 40 followers on TRUTH Social. GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn has 364,000 followers on Twitter. He has 0 followers on TRUTH Social. With stats like that Trump’s cult disciples are surely going to rush to delete their Twitter accounts and live exclusively on TRUTH Social. Right?

It’s easy to see why Trump is so anxious to make this move. He has been banned on Twitter. And he has lost about 98% of his likes and retweets that are now posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Liz Harrington. But he is unlikely to restore his former online glory. For one thing, his Twitter clone (built on open source software for which he is violating the license of the original developers) will be competing with other conservative social media sites (Gab, Parlar, Gettr, and the MyPillow guy’s FRANKSpeech) that beat him to the market (and are failing anyway).

It is also notable that Trump is hailing his venture as a haven for free speech. Which is hysterical given that the terms of service explicitly prohibit any criticism of the site or its operators. Which means that there can be no criticism of its Chairman, Donald Trump.

However, Trump has a business plan that he’s convinced will rocket him to the top of the conservative garbage heap. He’ll just sue his competition, or try to outlaw them, and if that doesn’t work just ask everybody to ditch them:

“Twitter is a disgrace to democracy. They shouldn’t be allowed to do business in this Country. […] Everybody should drop off of Twitter and Facebook.”

That should do it. Now there will probably be hordes of Trump Deplorables signing up for TRUTH Social any minute now, just waiting to interact with people who think exactly like they do in a community that is a tiny fraction of what Twitter has. What could be more fun? Let’s hope that they find happiness there and, as Rep. Kinzinger said, “Please, don’t come back.”

On the Anniversary of Donald Trump Being Banned on Twitter… His Last Tweet (Sort Of)

This week marked a solemn anniversary of a tragic event that strained the foundations of American democracy. The January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. by Donald Trump’s cult disciples will go down in history as one of the nation’s darkest days. It was a day that will be recognized for Trump’s orchestration of an attempted coup. And on its anniversary, true to form, Trump reminded everyone just how loathsome an individual he is.

Donald Trump, Twitter, Tweets

As it happens, this week celebrates another more pleasant day of yesteryear. It was one year ago on January 8, 2021, that Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s account. Twitter imposed the ban two days after Trump’s deadly riots on Capitol Hill, saying that “we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” That was a prudent observation that has borne itself out in the intervening months. In fact, A study conducted after Trump was banned from Twitter showed that “online misinformation about election fraud plunged 73 percent.” So the departure of Trump and his crackpot crusaders actually made the Internet noticeably better.

This anniversary of Trump’s dishonorable discharge from Twitter would be a good time to recall how he went out. His very last tweet was a pretty good summation of the whole of his noxious public persona. Trump tweeted

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Perfect. Trump displayed his egomaniacal self-absorption along with his rancid disrespect for the traditions that have defined America’s democracy for decades. For Trump there would be no appreciation for the principle of a peaceful transfer of power. His gargantuan and insatiable conceit would not allow him to acknowledge that he is a loser and, as Biden aptly noted, a defeated former president.”

In addition to that, Trump’s last day on Twitter also contained this demented outburst

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

And subsequently, Trump spent the next year petulantly whining that he and his followers have been disrespected and mistreated.

Plus, Trump spoke of the insurrection while it was in progress with the sort of inflammatory lies that incited the assault against Congress in the first place, tweeting that

“These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”

And of course, Trump provoked his glassy-eyed devotees to harass and threaten his cowardly and disloyal vice-president, tweeting that

“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

That’s what Trump left us with on Twitter as he was thrust into social media exile. It is evidence that Twitter acted appropriately to deny him the use of their platform to spew more of his dishonest and seditious ravings.

Unfortunately, that didn’t entirely shut him up. Trump continues to bombard the Twitterverse with his bombastic rhetoric thanks to his spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, who obediently posts his every infantile inkling, despite that being a violation of Twitter’s rules prohibiting the circumvention of a ban.

If anything, Trump’s behavior has gotten even more deranged since his pseudo-departure from the web. He has filed an asinine lawsuit against Twitter, Facebook, and Google, to force them to carry his psychotic rants. He has ordered his minions To “drop off of Twitter” and called for it to be outlawed. And he has expressed his regret that he didn’t ban Facebook and Twitter when he was occupying the White House.

Trump also claims to be launching his own social media enterprise/scam that is most likely to fail, just like almost every other business he’s run. But even if he gets it off the ground, people will have to wonder what the appeal of a website that is populated solely by Trumpist crackpots would be. Most Americans would describe it as Hell on Earth.

Trump Orders His Cult To ‘Drop Off of Twitter’ and Calls For It To Be Outlawed

The brazenly anti-American and anti-democratic compulsions of Donald Trump continue to be exhibited with each new public pronouncement he issues. His aspirations for authoritarianism, and his affinity for brutal dictators, was recently affirmed with his “endorsement” of Hungary’s fascistic Viktor Orbán.

Donald Trump, Twitter

On the heels of that gushing embrace of tyranny, Trump is now giving voice to another of his noxious notions that negates the liberties that define America. In a tweet reacting to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s well deserved suspension from Twitter, Trump lashed out in his typically incoherent and infantile fashion, saying that…

“Twitter is a disgrace to democracy. They shouldn’t be allowed to do business in this Country. Marjorie Taylor Greene has a huge constituency of honest, patriotic, hard-working people. They don’t deserve what’s happened to them on places like low-life Twitter and Facebook. Everybody should drop off of Twitter and Facebook. They’re boring, have only a Radical Left point of view, and are hated by everyone. They are a disgrace to our Nation. Keep fighting, Marjorie!”

If you had to catalog everything that Trump has said is a “disgrace” it would require a bookshelf that spanned the length of Great Wall of China. Which would be convenient because he’s also a big fan fan of Xi Jinping. Due to his pitifully limited vocabulary, Trump has overused the word so much that is has ceased to have any meaning. And as for “democracy.” we’ve already established that that word has no meaning to Trump.

Moving on, Trump grumps that Twitter “shouldn’t be allowed to do business in this Country.” How he proposes to outlaw it isn’t explained. But it’s something that he regretted not doing when he was still occupying the White House. He is currently suing Twitter and other Internet services because that’s just what you’d expect from the King of Cancel Culture. But he is too mentally feeble to grasp that calling for a ban on the constitutional rights of social media platforms that he doesn’t like contradicts his intended, albeit disingenuous, message of free speech.

Defending Greene and her constituency of like-minded Trump cultists, Trump commands his glassy-eyed disciples to “drop off of Twitter and Facebook.” Because surrendering opportunities to express oneself is Trump’s idea of open discourse. He wants his klan to be free of any contrary opinions that might contain some kernal of truth. More likely, he just wants to harm Twitter and Facebook for not kowtowing to his supreme dictates.

However, as usual Trump is lying about Twitter having “only a Radical Left point of view, and are hated by everyone.” All of the objective studies show that these platforms actually favor conservatives. As reported by the Guardian

“Republicans including Donald Trump have raged against Twitter and Facebook in recent months, alleging anti-conservative bias, censorship and a silencing of free speech. According to a new report from New York University, none of that is true.

“Disinformation expert Paul Barrett and researcher J Grant Sims found that far from suppressing conservatives, social media platforms have, through algorithms, amplified rightwing voices, ‘often affording conservatives greater reach than liberal or nonpartisan content creators’”.

These findings have been confirmed by repeated studies including this one by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, and this one by the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Finally, if Twitter is “hated by everyone,” then everyone has a funny way of showing it. The platform currently has more than 200 million users. That’s far more than anything Trump will ever have on his yet to be launched (and bona fide scam), TRUTH Social. Although if Trump wants to herd his devotees into his own disease-ridden corral, we’re all for it. A study conducted after Trump was banned from Twitter showed that “online misinformation about election fraud plunged 73 percent.” So the departure of Trump and his crackpot crusaders can only make the Internet better.

Twitter Suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene, but Allows Trump’s Shill to Keep Posting His Lies (?)

In the first week of January 2021, Donald Trump was banished from Twitter due to his reckless and relentless lies about election fraud. Twitter imposed the ban on January 8th, two days after Trump’s deadly insurrection on Capitol Hill, saying that “we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

Donald Trump

Now, almost exactly a year to the day, Twitter has also suspended Trump’s congressional lickspittle, Marjorie Taylor Greene. In Greene’s case the reason given for her suspension was “repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy.” Naturally Greene is fuming that “Twitter is an enemy to America,” and promises to “show America we don’t need them.” Presumably she will move over to one of the failing alt-Twitter sites like Gab, Parler, Gettr, or maybe Trump’s allegedly forthcoming TRUTH Social. Which is hysterically misnamed for an Internet site run by a documented pathological liar.

As satisfying as it is to see someone like Greene exiled from social media, it also highlights the shortcomings in how Twitter carries out the enforcement of their policies. Because if Greene is considered to be in violation of their terms of service, then how can Trump’s official spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, be allowed to continue posting his lies?

In the year since Trump’s suspension he has actually escalated his reckless rhetoric. He continues to make purposefully inflammatory comments online, at his cult rallies, and in appearances on fringe TV outlets like Newsmax and One America News (OAN). His rancid commentaries serve to encourage his glassy-eyed disciples to “stand by” for his prophesized and delusional political resurrection. It’s a prospect that even ultra-conservative Republicans are frightened by.

Nevertheless, with Harrington’s help, Trump has managed to maintain an online presence despite his exile from Twitter. That presence has been dominated by his relentless compulsion to lie and hurl infantile insults at his foes. And he continues to propagate his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. All in an effort to advance his aspirations of messianic tyranny. In lieu of tweeting, Trump puts out press releases with the same lie-filled histrionics that are identical to what he used to tweet. And those messages are being relayed to the Twitter-verse by Harrington.

Harrington is posting these incendiary outbursts despite Twitter’s stated policy of prohibiting anyone from attempting to circumvent a suspension. So Harrington is in flagrant violation of Twitter policies that call for suspension of the violator. Twitter needs to enforce their rules without prejudice or preference. Otherwise the rules are meaningless. And in Trump’s case, potentially dangerous.

There is simply no excuse for permitting Harrington to aid and abet Trump in circumventing his ban. While her reach is a pittance of the cult devotees that Trump roped in, the messages are just as dishonest and dangerous as if Trump were posting them himself. Twitter knows this and needs to do their job, enforce their rules, and ban Harrington and other offenders.

Trump’s Update on His TRUTH(LESS) Social Scam is an Incoherent, Lie-Riddled Mess

Last week Donald Trump announced what will surely be his next humiliating business failure. Laughably dubbed “TRUTH Social” – a name that defies the reality of his documented history of pathologically lying – Trump’s stab at social media already shows signs of being a scam contrived to enrich himself and feed his gargantuan but fragile ego.

Trump Baby on Cash Pile

On Tuesday morning Trump directed Liz Harrington, his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, to post a tediously rambling elaboration on his proposed social media (cr)app. Not surprisingly, the proclamation was littered with lies and shameless exaltations of himself. It began by asserting that his intentions transcended politics. “This is about saving our country,” Trump prevaricated. He continued saying that…

“America has always been a nation of smart, spirited, and independent people who take pride in thinking for themselves. We admire those who aren’t afraid to speak their minds, or go against the tide. Yet suddenly, we find ourselves being censored and dictated to by a small group of self-righteous scolds and self-appointed arbiters of what everyone else is allowed to think, say, share, and do.”

Oh yes. The undisputed King of Cancel Culture is very concerned about censorship. Trump rails about the alleged banning of doctors, scientists, and journalists (mostly by Trump), in a tirade that leads predictably to himself, whining that “we’ve seen a sitting president of the United States effectively silenced.” We wish! And the last people that Trump cares about are the smart, independent thinkers. As he has told us before, he “loves the poorly educated,” for the ease with which he can fleece the them.

Trump then complains about America having “fallen far down the ‘slippery slope’ of censorship.” This coming from someone who advocates for the censorship of Critical Race Theory, who prohibited the use of the phrase “climate change” by the Department of Energy, who regrets not banning Twitter and Facebook when he was in office, and who “cancels” anyone who is the least bit critical of him.

Trump goes on to unironically ask, “How many Americans no longer trust a word they hear from their leaders?” Maybe that’s because Trump lied so often that it would be easier to count the few number of times he told the truth. Then he asks “How many ordinary citizens have sadly come to resent their neighbors?” Perhaps that’s due to the most divisive public figure in modern times. Trump viciously maligns anyone who isn’t unflinchingly adoring. He insults his foes with vulgar, uninhibited, rancor. He has mainstreamed hate.

Finally, Trump promised that “there will be no shadow-banning, throttling, demonetizing, or messing with algorithms for political manipulation.” In other words, you can lie as much as you want to on Trump’s site without risk of consequences for the very real harm it can cause. For example, Trump’s tweeting about nonexistent election fraud that incited the January 6th insurrection. Or his deadly falsehoods about the coronavirus pandemic. Although the site’s agreement states that it can’t be held liable for anything that a user posts. That’s actually a provision of the Communications Decency Act’s Section 230 that Trump has vehemently opposed.

However, there are exceptions to Trump’s promised “free” speech.. And they are explicitly spelled out in the site’s terms of service that state that users cannot “disparage, tarnish, or otherwise harm, in our opinion, us or the Site.” So in order to use the site you must first agree to never criticize Trump. FREEDUMB!

Trump’s ‘TRUTH Social’ is a Pitiful Cry for Attention Because His Twitter Shill Isn’t Getting Any

This week Donald Trump announced a new business failure – er, venture – that he says will eventually produce a social media service to “create a rival to the liberal media consortium and fight back against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley.” Setting aside the likelihood that he will never deliver on this proposal, it still represents an epic feat of hysterical gaslighting.

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

Trump has dubbed his ego-fluffing phantom operation “TRUTH social.” A branding exercise that flagrantly ignores his notoriety as America’s foremost pathological liar. It is more likely that it will reside in the Trump graveyard of flops that include four bankrupt casinos, a fraudulent university, a sham charitable foundation, and numerous consumer products that consumers never wanted.

However, there is a reason that Trump is so determined to launch a soapbox app dedicated to his own words of witlessness that are primarily comprised of lies, insults, and undeserved boasts. In the ten months since he was exiled from Twitter for excessive and deliberate lying and – as Twitter stated“the risk of further incitement of violence,” Trump has lost most of his online audience. Not that there was much of an audience to hang on to. Internet experts estimated that up to 70% of the 84 million followers reported by Twitter were either fake, bots, or inactive.

That said, an analysis of the interactions on the most recent week of tweets by Trump’s spokes-shill, Liz Harrington (whose proxy Trump tweeting is violating Twitter’s rules against circumventing a ban), show a massive decline from the last week of Trump’s tweets prior to his suspension.

TRUMP
(1/2/2021-1/8/2021
Average per tweet of 96 tweets)
HARRINGTON
(10/8/2021-10/14/2021
Average per tweet of 46 tweets)
DIFFERENCE
Retweets 40,385 718 -98.2%
Likes 218,862 1,576 -99.3%

Given that collapse, it isn’t surprising that Trump is looking for another avenue to satisfy his gargantuan, but fragile, ego. Unfortunately for him, he has no chance of replicating the volume of interactions he had on Twitter with whatever he hopes to scrape up on his own lame app. Twitter delivered Trump to an audience of more than 200 million people. He’ll be competing with other fringe rightist sites like Gab, Parlar, Gettr, and the MyPillow guy’s FRANKSpeech. All of which have a tiny fraction of the users that Twitter has. And judging by the pathetic response to his previous attempt to lure his cult followers to his blog, it’s preposterous for him to think that he would do any better.

What’s more, there is little reason to believe that there is much demand for Trump’s ranting and raving. Most of it as of late has been whining about having lost the 2020 presidential election. A third of the Harrington tweets in the past week were about the Arizona “fraudit” by the infamous and utterly disreputable Cyber Ninjas. And he continues to incite violence with inflammatory outbursts like this one, where he defends the traitorous insurrections saying that “The insurrection took place on November 3, Election Day. January 6 was the Protest!.” Most of the rest of Trump’s alt-tweets were personal attacks on everyone from Colin Powell, to Andrew McCabe, to GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy, to Rep. Liz Cheney, and, of course, President Biden.

It is also notable that Trump is hailing his venture as a haven for free speech. Which is hysterical given that the terms of service explicitly prohibit any criticism of the site or its operators. Which means that there can be no criticism of its Chairman, Donald Trump.

That is not exactly a recipe for success. There is already evidence that his racket is just another Trump con that is bound for civil and/or criminal indictments and penalties. Furthermore, Trump has been warned that he is in violation of the licensing agreement for the software his service has expropriated and that he “has 30 days to comply with the terms of the license before its access is terminated.”

So Trump’s social media app that hasn’t even launched yet may be shut down before it ever does. After which he will somehow blame it all on his imaginary cabal of radical leftists. The only problem is, without any online presence, there won’t be anyone listening.
