Hannity Admits in Fox News Lawsuit that ‘I Did Not Believe [Trump’s Big Lie] for One Second’

for more than two years Donald Trump has been sobbing about the 2020 presidential election that he pretends to believe was “rigged and stolen” from him. Never mind that he hasn’t been able to produce a shred of evidence of it more than sixty court cases. And for all of that time his official Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) has supported his “Big Lie” even when such support resulted in a violent insurrection in Washington, D.C., that Trump incited, and for which he may soon be indicted.

Fox News Sean Hannity

As a result of Fox News serving the seditious aspirations of Trump, the network is being sued for more than a billion dollars by Dominion Voting Systems for defamation. They allege that Fox News knowingly aired false stories that Dominion purposefully designed their voting machines to switch votes for Trump to Joe Biden.

RELATED: Dominion Voting Systems Files $1.6 Billion Defamation Lawsuit Against Fox News

Critical to the success of a defamation suit is the plaintiff’s ability to prove that the defendant knew, or should have known, that their defamatory statements were false and were made with malicious intent. And Dominion is apparently meeting that criteria according to reports of testimony given during deposition.

Specifically, testimony provided under oath reveals that Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer Sean Hannity knew that Trump’s claims of election fraud were untrue, even a he was reporting on and endorsing them. When Hannity was asked by Dominion’s lawyer about Trump’s unfounded claims, he replied that “I did not believe it for one second.”

That’s about as clear a confirmation of deliberately defamatory speech as any court will ever hear. And unfortunately for Fox News, it isn’t the only example of it in this case. In September, a Fox News producer sent out a memo warning that the network must stop “pulling conspiracy theories from dark corners of the Web to justify then-President Donald Trump’s lies that the election had been stolen from him.” And Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott made similar warnings about Trump’s “Big Lie” purveyors and election deniers saying that “We can’t give the crazies an inch.”

SEE THIS: Fox News Producer Warned Network to Stop Putting Hosts on Air to Spew Election Conspiracy Lies

The Dominion trial, which is scheduled to commence next April, is still just in its preliminary phase, conducting depositions and discovery. They have yet to present this evidence to a jury. And we still don’t know how much more evidence has been obtained, or will be obtained, through the acquisition of documents and depositions. But suffice to say that at this point Fox News must be extraordinarily nervous.

If the pretrial particulars continue to unfold as they have been thus far, look for Fox News to beg for a settlement. Dominion, however, has said that they won’t settle for anything that doesn’t include a confession of guilt by Fox News and an unqualified apology and retraction.

However, even if Fox News concedes to Dominion’s demands and they settle, Fox still has to deal with another election related billion dollar lawsuit by Smartmatic. And a judge in that case has already issued an opinion that “actual malice” is evident in statements by Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson. So 2023 looks to be a, let’s say “interesting” year for Fox News.

Fox News Spreads Blatant Lie that the ‘FBI Paid $3.5M To Suppress Hunter Laptop Story’

For the past couple of weeks Elon Musk has been dispatching his flagrantly biased and incurious yellow journalists to propagate obvious falsehoods about Twitter’s previous management. His intent has been to discredit them as disreputable Trump haters and submissive servants of clandestine FBI handlers.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Fake News

After seven tediously long document dumps of what were private, internal communications, Musk and Company pitifully failed to prove their predetermined conclusions, or whatever they imagined was their point. To the contrary, these much ballyhooed excretions of mostly random and irrelevant emails actually proved that Twitter’s Trust and Safety team acted responsibly to protect the website – and the nation – from documented propaganda and disinformation by Russia and other hostile foreign actors.

Musk’s minions only succeeded in showing that Twitter’s staff was not biased against Trump. In fact, they were decidedly fair in their analysis and decisions. But that didn’t stop the right-wingnut echo chamber from latching onto Musk’s muckrakers, especially Donald Trump…

RELATED: Trump Unleashes Vile Threats in Tantrum Over Elon Musk’s ‘Twitter Files’ Farce (Part 6)

The latest batch from the “Twitter Files” trash heap (Part 7) continued in the tradition of the previous six. This episode’s author, Michael Shellenberger, promised that he would “present evidence” that the FBI sought to “discredit leaked information about Hunter Biden.” Not only did he present no such evidence, he actually presented evidence of the opposite. Such as one email wherein “Twitter debunked false claims” of foreign influence. And another wherein “Twitter’s [Yoel] Roth has pushed back against the FBI.”

Despite that demonstration of fairness and good judgement, Fox News ran with a particularly deviated narrative. The headline for their “reporting” said that the “FBI Paid $3.5M To Suppress Hunter Laptop Story.”

To the surprise of no one who has watched Fox News for more than a few minutes, that headline – and the accompanying story – was just plain untrue. What Fox News used to craft their false framing was one of Shellenberger’s points where he claimed that “The FBI’s influence campaign may have been helped by the fact that it was paying Twitter millions of dollars for its staff time.” He elaborated with a quote from an unnamed Twitter staffer who reported that “we have collected $3,415,323 since October 2019.”

Fox News is deliberately misinterpreting that as the FBI paying Twitter to get them to suppress a story about Hunter Biden. In reality, the FBI is reimbursing Twitter for the time they spent working on requests for information by the FBI. That is a legally mandated payment that requires that “a governmental entity obtaining the contents of communications, records, or other information … shall pay to the person or entity assembling or providing such information a fee for reimbursement for such costs as are reasonably necessary.”

As if that weren’t enough, there isn’t even any connection in the emails that were released between the FBI reimbursements and any story about Hunter Biden. Musk and Fox News just totally manufactured that.

Furthermore, the reports that the FBI “demanded” certain actions be taken by Twitter, and that Twitter obediently complied, are also untrue. And, once again, the facts were tucked away in Musk’s own document dump that disclosed that the FBI’s requests could not be remotely characterized as demands. They were merely notices about “accounts which may potentially constitute violations of Twitter’s Terms and Service for any action or inaction deemed appropriate within Twitter policy.” (emphasis added)

This is the sort of manipulation that Fox News engages in on a daily (hourly) basis. They have no regard for the truth. They are only interested in disseminating distortions that advance their ultra-conservative agenda. It’s how they can take mundane irrelevancies and magnify them into explosive pseudo-scandals.

FOR INSTANCE: Fox News Lies: Falsely Accuses Michele Obama of ‘Pressuring’ Twitter to Ban Trump

UPDATE: The FBI responds: “The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements. […] As evidenced in the correspondence, the FBI provides critical information to the private sector in an effort to allow them to protect themselves and their customers. […] It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the American public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency.”

Mealy Mike Pence Tells Fox News that He is Against Indicting Trump – Who Nearly Got Him Hanged

After months of hearings, with evidence provided by hundreds of (mostly Republican) witnesses and millions of documents, the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection that Donald Trump incited is preparing to release their final report.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Hanging

Along with that report, the Committee is also issuing criminal referrals to the Justice Department for a cadre of Trump cohorts, as well as for Trump himself. The charges include Trump’s role inciting and/or assisting the insurrection, obstruction of official Congressional proceedings, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. In anticipation of the Committee’s conclusions, a frightened Trump has been acting out in his typically infantile, and ultimately impotent, fashion.

RELATED: Trump Being Too Scared to Testify Under Oath, Files Lawsuit Against the January 6th Committee

On Monday morning Trump’s former vice-president and certified toady, Mike Pence, visited Fox News for another softball interview. In this outing Pence affirmed his allegiance to his former boss whose response to the insurrection contributed to the mob’s hostilities and their fevered chants to “Hang Mike Pence.” As an expression of his gratitude for nearly getting him killed, Pence told Fox News that “Few Americans are paying attention” to this Committee. He then elaborated on his opinion that Trump should be allowed to get away with his treasonous crimes…

“I would hope that [the Justice Department] would not bring charges against the former president. I think the president’s actions and words on January 6 were reckless, but I don’t know that it’s criminal to take bad advice from lawyers and so I hope the Justice Department is careful.”

Actually, Pence, who practiced law before his political career, does know that it absolutely can be criminal to take bad advice from lawyers. If your lawyer advises you to commit a crime – say rob a bank or lie under oath or incite a riot – and you take that advice, you are definitely criminally liable. And so, by the way, is your lawyer.

Even Fox News co-host Dana Perino shot back at Pence’s reference to Trump’s shady lawyers saying that “There might be criminal referrals on that too.” She was referring to reports that criminal referrals are likely to be issued for Trump-associated attorneys John Eastman, Jeff Clark, and Rudy Giuliani. Pence then continued saying that…

“I hope the Justice Department understands the magnitude, the very idea of indicting a former president of the United States. I think that would be terribly divisive in the country at a time when the American people want to see us heal.”

Pence doesn’t have to worry about whether the Justice Department “understands the magnitude” of indicting a former president. It’s obvious that they do. However, he might want to pay more attention to the magnitude of a former president trying to undermine democracy and overthrow the government.

He may also want to consider the necessity of holding such criminals accountable, not just to punish their unlawful acts, but in order to deter others from committing similar acts in the future. Trump is already advocating absolution for his insurrectionist hordes.

RELATED: Trump Promises to Halt the Prosecutions of the January 6th Mob He Incited to Attack Congress

What’s more, Pence is misinterpreting – or more likely lying about – the American people’s desire to “heal.” They surely do. But a majority of them favor prosecuting Trump as the path to that healing.

For his part, Trump is behaving precisely as would be expected of a self-serving, narcissistic, wannabe dictator. He posted on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that…

“Republicans and Patriots all over the land must stand strong and united against the Thugs and Scoundrels of the Unselect Committee. It will be a dark period in American history, but with darkness comes light!!!”

The darkest period of modern American history has already passed. It ended when Trump was evicted by the American people from his occupation of the White House. The light emerged with the election of President Biden. But sadly, Trump continues to cast his corpulent shadow over the nation. And the only remedy for that is the for the law to be finally and fully enforced without fear or favor. Whether Pence wants it or not.

Fox News Fanboy Tucker Carlson Oozes His Perverse Trump Love at Right-Wing Cult Festival

For more than six years Fox News has served as the de facto Ministry of Propaganda for Donald Trump and his Republican Party. Their hosts and guests have marched in lock-step to the beat of Trump’s dystopian drum, even after he incited a violent insurrection in Washington, D.C., or stole and lied about hoarding classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, or called for the “termination” of the Constitution. And that only scratches the surface of his overtly illegal and anti-American offenses.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump

The devotion to Dear Leader Trump has been unshakable at Fox News no matter how hostile he becomes toward the principles of America or the values of its citizens. And the competition for the most adoring Trump-fluffer at Fox has been fierce with the likes of Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Jeanine Pirro, and Jesse Watters among the slobbering contenders.

RELATED: Fox News Lauds Trump as ‘Unbeatable in 2024’ Following His Dystopian Campaign Announcement

This weekend, however, Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, moved into a leading position. He spoke at the devoutly Trump worshipping affair, Americafest, put on by the ultra-conservative Turning Point USA in Phoenix, Arizona. The roster for this event was a rogues’ gallery of right-wingers that included four Fox News hosts and five GOP members of Congress, along with crackpots like Mike Lindell, Steve Bannon, and Trump spawn, Donnie Jr.

In his address to the Trump cultists in the audience, Carlson literally professed his love for Trump, who he says “completely changed my view of everything.” It was an extended sonnet of his sickly sentiment toward the twice-impeached wannabe dictator. You have to wonder how he managed to discretely wipe the drool from his mouth. The infatuation began after he was asked a straightforward that he never actually answered (video below)

Question: Who do you plan to support, Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis?
Carlson: Well, as you’ve noticed, my endorsement means a lot to the American people. […] Donald Trump completely changed my view of everything. Donald Trump is why I left Washington. And he did it in a really simple way by asking questions that no one around him could answer.

Questions like “Are stealth bombers really invisible?” And “How many birds do windmills kill?” And “Can you inject bleach to cure COVID?” And “Why don’t we nuke hurricanes?” And “Why shouldn’t I believe Vladimir Putin over U.S. intelligence agencies?” And “Who needs elections when you should just install me as President-for-Life?” Carlson actually provided his own examples of Trump’s ignorant queries…

“[Trump] showed up and said things like, ‘Why do have a border?’ Shut up! Or my personal favorite, he says, ‘What’s the point of NATO?’ I wouldn’t have known any of that until Trump showed up and started asking these kind of like simple autistic questions like ‘Why are we doing this that way?’ And sort of exposed the whole thing. And I’m so grateful to have seen that.”

So Carlson is bragging that Trump is his mentor who informs him about all of the important bullcrap that a good propagandist needs to know. Especially about ways to advance Putin’s agenda by weakening the United States and its alliances around the world. But then Carlson sinks into his flagrant fixation on the “animal joy” he derives from the object of his depraved affection…

“Also I should also add, since why not, I actually love Donald Trump as a guy. I think he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever talked to in my life. I think he’s got this unbelievable life force to him. But talking to Trump is one of the great animal joys of life because he exudes this sort of animal joy. Trump is like totally charming and engaging, and fun, and interesting. And the last thing I’ll say about Trump that I really love is that his insights into people, which are always expressed in this like – Trump expresses in this way that’s like totally original.”

Get a friggen’ room, Tuckums. This is Olympic-grade sucking up. But it’s no wonder that Carlson is so enamored of Trump. He has a disturbing affinity for narcissistic totalitarians who seek to rule as tyrants. For instance, in addition to his consuming kinship with Putin, the strongman-smitten Carlson embraces Victor Orbán of Hungary. So it’s apparent that Carlson’s obsession with neo-fascism runs deeper than just his passion for Trump. It’s in his oh-so-pure, white supremacist blood.

Breaking on Fox News: Democrats Put Forward Bill to Bar Trump From Holding Public Office Again

The media has of late been abusing the word “Breaking” to describe anything that they happen to be reporting on at that moment, whether or not it is particularly important or has any significance to the public. Every story is being treated as if it’s a 9.0 earthquake, even if it’s just 9 year old eating cookies.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Fox News, White House

However, the “Breaking” descriptor in the headline of this article is entirely appropriate. Not because of the news about the Democratic legislation to bar Trump from holding office again, but because it is being covered by Fox News in manner that is relatively accurate and fair. That’s a breaking scoop on any day.

RELATED: HUH? Senior Fox News Misinformer, Tucker Carlson, Declares that ‘Misinformation Can Be True’

The article on the Fox News website (not on their cable network) reports that Democrats in the House of Representatives introduced legislation that would bar Donald Trump from reoccupying the White House. According to Fox News…

“Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., one of the House Democrats who led the second impeachment effort against Trump, introduced legislation Thursday with 40 Democratic co-sponsors that would invoke Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to prevent Trump from returning to the White House, or holding any other office.

“The amendment states, ‘No person shall … hold any office, civil or military, under the United States … who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States … to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.'”

Fox News goes on to note that the amendment was “adopted in the 1860s to prevent former Confederates from occupying positions in the federal government after the Civil War,” and that Democrats believe that “it should be applied to Trump, who they allege incited an insurrection against the United States on Jan. 6, 2021.” All of which is true. Fox quotes Cicilline saying that…

“Donald Trump very clearly engaged in an insurrection on January 6, 2021 with the intention of overturning the lawful and fair results of the 2020 election. You don’t get to lead a government you tried to destroy.”

This is a surprisingly unbiased account of the facts. And that justifies it being regarded as a “breaking” news story. In the past Fox News would have framed it as “radical liberal Democrats in Congress pervert the Constitution to stifle Trump!”

It’s likely that Fox News is softening their editorial adulation of Trump in favor of Trump-wannabe, Ron DeSantis. Also, in the wake of the midterm election last month, wherein his endorsed candidates suffered historic losses, Fox may be looking for a more electorally viable alternative to this year’s biggest loser.

Ever since the GOP’s midterm debacle, Trump seems to have descended into an abyss of depression as he hunkers down in his Mar-a-Lago bunker. That has led to behavior that can only be described as bizarre and desperate. Including…

Look for Fox News to continue winding down their fixation on Trump, but not their ultra-rightist agenda and propaganda. Simultaneously, look for Trump to become ever more maniacal and mentally unstable as his electoral and legal tribulations mount. Which will accelerate Fox’s dissociation, Trump’s animosity toward Fox, and the unstoppable downward spiral. In other words … Good times ahead!

Trump Sues the Pulitzer Prize Board for Honoring Accurate Stories of His Russian Collusion

Last month Donald Trump announced that he is running for the Republican Party’s nomination for president in 2024. Since then a couple of dozen of his endorsed candidates lost their races, he has been convicted of tax fraud, he lashed out hysterically against the special counsel probing his criminal activities, and he dined with neo-Nazis at Mar-a-Lago.

Click here to Tweet this article

No one, therefore, should be surprised that Trump’s poll ratings have cratered and he is exhibiting signs of severe depression and desperation. Consequently he is resorting to bizarre antics such as calling for the termination of the Constitution.

RELATED: Trump Doubles Down on His Constitution Bashing and Misquotes Himself to Gaslight His Cult

Now Trump has filed a lawsuit against the Pulitzer Prize Board that is profoundly frivolous. He is finally fulfilling a promise he made two months ago to file this suit in two weeks. Now he’s boasting about it on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, with a link to an article on Fox News. Fox reported that…

“Former President Trump filed a defamation lawsuit on Tuesday against the Pulitzer Prize Board over the 2018 National Reporting prizes given to The New York Times and Washington Post for coverage of ‘now-debunked theory’ of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.”

Of course, the allegations of Trump’s unsavory connections to Russia were not only never “debunked,” they have been affirmed repeatedly. Fox went on to quote from Trump’s filing saying that…

“The complaint made a series of points indicating why it feels the Pulitzer Prize-winning stories are unworthy of the honor, including Special Counsel Robert Mueller failing to find evidence of collusion.” [and that] At the time of publication, nearly every branch and agency of the federal government had examined this issue and reached the same conclusion: there was no conspiracy or cooperation between President Trump or the Trump Campaign and Russia.”

All of that is patently false. Mueller explicitly stated in his report that Trump was not exonerated. What’s more, he told the House Intelligence Committee that Trump and his campaign “welcomed and encouraged” Russian interference, and that there was sufficient evidence to indict Trump. A Republican-led Senate Intelligence panel found that Russia had an extensive program aimed at disseminating disinformation intended to benefit Trump and to harm Hillary Clinton. Even Vladimir Putin admitted, with Trump standing right next to him, that he wanted Trump to win and had helped him do so. Much of these sordid associations were catalogued in the book Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, by Michael Isikoff and David Corn.

The most likely outcome for this lawsuit is a quick dismissal by the court. The judge will surely notice that Trump isn’t even suing the news outlets that published the stories that won the Pulitzers. He’s suing the Pulitzer Board for awarding the prizes. Which they have every right to do. They even had an independent review conducted after receiving a demand from Trump to rescind the awards. That review found that “no passages or headlines, contentions or assertions in any of the winning submissions were discredited by facts that emerged subsequent to the conferral of the prizes.”

RELATED: Trump Whines that Pulitzer Won’t Rescind Awards for Stories on Russian Election Interference

Look for Trump to continue to descend into an abyss of anxiety and madness as the prospects for his being held to account legally come closer to fruition. One of the signs of that descent could be revealed soon. Trump also posted a comment Wednesday that said cryptically that “AMERICA NEEDS A SUPERHERO! I will be making a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT tomorrow. Thank you!” America is anxiously awaiting this announcement with popcorn at the ready.

UPDATE: Trump’s “Major Announcement” turns out to be just another grift. And a hysterically pitiful one: “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here! These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life & Career! […] GET YOUR CARDS NOW! Only $99 each!” His glassy-eyed cult disciples should snap these up. Who wouldn’t want one of these?

Fox News Lies: Falsely Accuses Michele Obama of ‘Pressuring’ Twitter to Ban Trump

When Fox News gets their teeth into what they perceive to be scandal bait for their already brainwashed audience, they hold tight for absurdly long periods of time exceeding anything that could be considered rational. Whether it’s Benghazi, Hunter Biden, or Hillary Clinton’s emails, they clench down as if they’re afraid of it squirming free and escaping to reality.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Fox News, Lies

Among their most fevered fixations is anything having to do with President Obama or his wife Michelle. So on Sunday Fox News put out a story that reached back in time to malign the former First Lady for something she wrote nearly two years ago.

The story was an attempt to associate Ms. Obama with the pathetically shallow “Twitter Files” nothingburger that Elon Musk has been hyping as an “exposé” of the alleged liberal bias of Twitter’s prior management. Not surprisingly, they not only proved none of their baseless allegations, they actually revealed how responsibly Twitter’s Trust and Safety team acted to protect their platform – and the nation – from the deliberate incitements to violence of Donald Trump and his “Big Lie” confederates.

SEE THIS: The Sham ‘Twitter Files’ Exposé Actually Proves that Trump’s Coup Plot was Appropriately Muted

Fox’s story featured the sensationalist tabloid headline, “Twitter Files reveal Trump ban came after Michelle Obama, others pressured the company.” Needless to say, the files didn’t reveal any such thing. They merely made reference to a statement that Ms. Obama released the day after Trump’s insurrection on January 6, 2021. Fox’s story began saying that…

“Former President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter the day after former first lady Michelle Obama and others demanded the company ‘permanently’ remove him, according to the newest ‘Twitter Files’ installment.”

In reality, Ms. Obama never “demanded” anything of Twitter. She simply expressed her opinion about what should be done to prevent another atrocity like the one that occurred the day before. Here are some excerpts from her heartfelt and moving statement with the fragment that Fox News quoted in bold [the full statement is here]

“The day was a fulfillment of the wishes of an infantile and unpatriotic president who can’t handle the truth of his own failures. And the wreckage lays at the feet of a party and media apparatus that gleefully cheered him on, knowing full well the possibility of consequences like these.” […]

“I cannot think about moving on or turning the page until we reckon with the reality of what we saw yesterday. True progress will be possible only once we acknowledge that this disconnect exists and take steps to repair it. And that also means coming to grips with the reality that millions voted for a man so obviously willing to burn our democracy down for his own ego.” […]

“I hurt for our country. And I wish I had all the solutions to make things better. I wish I had the confidence that people who know better will act like it for more than a news cycle or two. All I know is that now is a time for true patriotism. Now is the time for those who voted for this president [Trump] to see the reality of what they’ve supported — and publicly and forcefully rebuke him and the actions of that mob. Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior — and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technologies from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection. And if we have any hope of improving this nation, now is the time for swift and serious consequences for the failure of leadership that led to yesterday’s shame.

Ms. Obama’s remarks were addressed to a nation that was in shock after having watched anti-democratic thugs desecrating the seat of our democracy, assaulting brave, outnumbered law enforcement officers, and threatening the lives of our representatives. She was speaking for millions of Americans who never thought they would witness such a despicable mob of traitors acting out their hostile treachery at the behest of a sociopathic, wannabe dictator, who couldn’t accept the fact that he’s a loser – which he still is, and still can’t.

What Ms. Obama was not doing was “pressuring” Twitter. She was exercising her First Amendment rights to express an opinion about what ought to be done in response to the horror we all saw on our television screens. Fox News offered no evidence whatsoever that she ever even spoke to anyone at Twitter. To the contrary, it was Trump and his cohorts who directly threatened Twitter in response to his well warranted suspension. And regarding the rioters at the Capitol, he is even now promising to pardon them for their heinous crimes if he were to return to the White House.

That shouldn’t surprise anyone who has been paying attention. After all, Trump recently called for the “termination” for the Constitution in order to have himself installed as America’s first authoritarian tyrant.

Fox News is OUTRAGED that President Biden Secured the Release of Brittney Griner

On Thursday morning President Biden made a long anticipated announcement from the White House. The United States had successfully negotiated the release of WNBA star, Brittney Griner, from her illegitimate incarceration in Russia.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

This news has been received by the family and the nation with great joy, relief, and gratitude. Biden made the announcement along with Griner’s wife, Cherelle, who also spoke movingly (video below). However, that national sense of pride and appreciation was not shared by the hateful heretics of Fox News, where their anti-patriotic compulsion always supersedes what’s best for America.

RELATED: Fox News’ Anti-American Hopes Get Crushed By Massive Job Growth Under Biden

The highest priority of the Fox News editorial staff is to always frame anything that Biden does as a catastrophe. In keeping with that “America Last” narrative, the cretins at Fox reported Griner’s freedom with a string of noxious and negative stories that focused on whatever bad news they could muster.

For instance, the top headline on their website read “Biden’s ‘Merchant of Death’ exchange for WNBA star leaves behind Marine veteran — again.” The opening paragraph complained that “President Biden’s prisoner exchange with Russia secured the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner on Thursday but left U.S. Marine veteran Paul Whelan in Russian custody.” That was followed by equally disparaging headlines:

  • NFL star torches Biden over Griner prisoner swap: ‘Still not voting for you!’
  • Brittney Griner prisoner swap ‘bittersweet’ as Paul Whelan remains detained in Russia
  • ‘MERCHANT OF DEATH’: Why Putin wants arms dealer swapped for Griner back in Russia
  • Biden slammed for swapping Russian ‘Merchant of death’ for WNBA’s Griner

The story featuring Biden being “slammed” for having brought Griner home, was typically populated by quotes from his most fervent and ignorant critics. They included…

  • Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy: Biden just got taken to the woodshed on this deal. This has to go down as the most lopsided trade in the history of trades. […] feels like a short sighted PR stunt.
  • Sports journalist Jason Whitlock: Help me wrap my mind around this Griner-for-Death trade. Feels like one of the lowest points in US foreign policy history?
  • Ron DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw: Biden just created an incentive for foreign countries to arrest more Americans to get more sweet deals like this.
  • Jim Geraghty, National Review: And all it cost the U.S. was putting the world’s most notorious arms dealer … back on the metaphorical streets.

That’s the wretched tenor of Fox’s reporting throughout their coverage of this story. For the record, the Russian arms dealer Biden traded for Griner, Victor Bout, had served about half his 25 year sentence. He is now 55 years old, and when returned to Russia will remain a convicted pariah who will not be able to travel the world resuming his previous profession.

What’s more, Biden did not neglect the fate of the other Russian hostage, Paul Whelan. He spoke about him in his White House address saying that…

“We never forgot about Brittney. We have not forgotten about Paul Whelan. […] And while we have not yet succeeded in getting Paul’s release, we are not giving up. We will never give up.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has said nothing about this welcome news. However, his foul offspring, Donnie Jr, weighed in with his own predictably nauseating thoughts on the matter, wherein he viscously smeared Griner…

“No one cuts better deals than Biden. We get an awful America hating WNBA player, while Russia gets an INTERNATIONAL ARMS DEALER!!! The adults are back!”

Leave it to the Trumps and Fox News to find the grossness in any bit of good news if it can be distorted to reflect poorly on Biden or any other Democrat. Their obsessive anti-Americanism is evident in everything they do. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone who has heard Trump advocating to “terminate” the U.S. Constitution.

UPDATE: Trump has posted his unfailingly offensive view of the Griner news. And true to hideous form, he ignorantly criticized the deal and maligned Griner as “a basketball player who openly hates our Country.” Then he asked “Why wasn’t former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a ‘stupid’ and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!”

Note that Whelan got a “bad conduct” discharge from the Marines for larceny and dereliction of duty. That, of course, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t still work for his release. But if Russia would have released him “for the asking,” then why didn’t Trump ask, since Whalen was arrested in Russian in 2018, during Trump’s occupation of the White House. “Stupid and unpatriotic” indeed.

Despondent Fox News Host is ‘Pissed’ About Election Losses and Blames Everyone But Trump

Leave it to Fox News to thoroughly fail to learn the obvious lessons of one of the most pitifully catastrophic election cycles the Republican Party has ever suffered. The anguish on the faces of their hosts, and exclusively right-wing guests, tells a story of a willfully blind confederacy of crackpots.

Laura Ingraham, Fox News, Goofy

On Tuesday the final Senate election for the 2022 midterms resulted in another victory for Democrats as Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Donald Trump’s hand-picked GOP nominee, Herschel Walker. The race was called by Fox News during Laura Ingraham’s program, and she didn’t bother to conceal her searing dismay. In a fit of fury she ranted that…

“We felt this coming. To me, it never felt like the Senate Republicans wanted this guy in office. He was a Trump pick. They didn’t like that. They probably liked Herschel as a person, but there wasn’t the intensity on the part of the Republicans as there was on the part of Democrats. I felt it, you felt it, but we don’t change anything. We have the same people in place in leadership. The same people in place, apparently, at the RNC. Perhaps that’s not changing. We just keep doing the same thing over and over again. I’m pissed tonight, frankly. I’m mad.”

WHUT? For weeks Ingraham and everyone else at Fox News predicted that Walker would easily beat Warnock. They hosted his surrogates (Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, etc.) every other day. They maligned Warnock and Democrats as losers. They held multiple “town halls” giving Walker millions of dollars worth of free airtime. Tucker Carlson even had the audacity to whine about that…

While Ingraham mentioned obliquely that Walker was “a Trump pick,” she deftly avoided assigning any blame to Trump for having pushed such a pathetically unqualified stooge to challenge Warnock, an inspiring and articulate incumbent. She never acknowledged that Walker’s only assets as a candidate were his fawning adoration of Trump, and his race, because Republicans believed that Black Georgians were shallow enough to vote for a retired football player, even though he couldn’t complete a coherent sentence.

According to Ingraham, the fault lies with the GOP establishment who have presided over at least three losing election cycles. She’s actually right about that. If Republicans were smart (a far-fetched assumption), they would oust the entire GOP operation. However, they still wouldn’t advance their future electoral prospects unless they recognize that the Republican Party has been subservient to their Dear Leader Trump. He is the root of their problems. But they are to chickenshit to admit it, or doing anything about it.

Ingraham’s guests were just as deluded. Federalist editor, Molly Hemingway, noted that Walker’s loss was “really offensive for Republican voters [who] just see kind of failure across the board.” Former Trump White House counselor, Kellyanne Conway praised Walker as “one of the most improved candidates.” Seriously?

Elsewhere on Fox News, Sean Hannity babbled “I think Republicans have been unwilling, for whatever reason – reluctant, resistant – to voting early and voting by mail.” Gee, could the reason have anything to do with Trump’s relentless bashing of mail and early voting as corrupt and riddled with fraud? And Marjorie Taylor Greene insisted that “This is Mitch McConnell’s fault. This is Lindsey Graham’s fault. I’m not blaming Herschel Walker. I’m blaming the campaign team.”

Meanwhile, Trump himself weighed in shortly after the race was called with his customary incisive and thought-provoking commentary. On his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, Trump calmly observed in all caps that “OUR COUNTRY IS IN BIG TROUBLE. WHAT A MESS!” That’s coming from the guy who is most responsible for the losses of nearly every major, contested race this cycle for Senate and governor. Yet he still gets a pass from Fox News.

HUH? Senior Fox News Misinformer, Tucker Carlson, Declares that ‘Misinformation Can Be True’

Since it’s inception, the mission of Fox News has been to advance the propaganda and lies of the Republican Party and its ultra-rightist agenda. Their management, editors, and program hosts are all chosen for, and devoted to that mission. And in recent years their extremist political evangelism has fervently pledged to the Cult of Donald Trump.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

Leading the wingnut evangelical crusade at Fox News is their top-rated host, Tucker Carlson. His program has become the most popular media destination for America’s white supremacists, misogynists, homophobes, and many other hate groups.

RELATED: Tucker Carlson’s Race War Dreams are Evident in His Hateful Rant Against a Black MSNBC Host

On Monday’s episode of Carlson’s hate-fest, he joined the conservative media’s embrace of Elon Musk’s Twitter nothingburger that purported to reveal an ingrained bias in favor of Democrats and then-presidential candidate Joe Biden. Suffice to say that the entire alleged “bombshell” was a spectacular dud that produced nothing but rank speculation, fabrication, and the disturbing doxing of private Twitter communications and staff.

Nevertheless, Fox News and Carlson were determined to further brainwash their audience with flagrant falsehoods. And apparently aware that their deceits were too obvious to disguise, they endeavored to frame lies as truths. Carlson literally defined falsehoods as facts. And not even “alternative facts” as previously dubbed by his Fox News colleague, and Trump toady, Kellyanne Conway. Carlson confabulated that…

“Misinformation is a new word. It’s been around the intel world for a long time but it’s never been used in common conversation until recently. The distinction between misinformation and lying is that misinformation can be true. It doesn’t have to be untrue to be censored. It used to be truth is a defense. If you’re telling the truth, you can say it. Not anymore. With mis- and disinformation, if I don’t like it, if I’m in power, I can censor you.”

For the record, misinformation cannot be true. It is, by definition, untrue. If it were true there would be nothing amiss in it. And only in the perverse world of Carlson and Fox News could such a ludicrous contention be made or taken seriously. But then again, it was Carlson who was actually defended in a defamation lawsuit by his own Fox News lawyers who told the court that “no reasonable person” would believe anything he said.

RELATED: Fox News Court Ruling: No ‘Reasonable Viewer’ Takes Tucker Carlson Seriously

In the same program, Carlson elaborated on his adoption of the Musk Twitter files non-scandal. He complained about Twitter’s decisions to moderate the content on their platform in order to prevent Russia from spreading propaganda that was intended to benefit Trump and to sow distrust of American elections. Never mind that Musk’s pathetic exposé failed to reveal any wrongdoing or bias. Carlson was outraged at what consumed his imagination, or at least what he wanted to consume the imaginations of his viewers. He huffed that…

“Twitter did this with the help of the FBI committing censorship on behalf of one candidate while working to hurt the other candidate. It is hard to imagine a more brazen attack on our democracy than this. This is not how our system is supposed to work. In fact, it’s illegal. What Twitter did is in violation of the First Amendment, as well as established campaign finance law. They never declared those contributions to the Biden campaign. That’s a crime.”

First of all, Twitter didn’t do anything with the FBI. The internal messages that Musk published proved that all of the decisions about what disinformation to suppress were made solely by Twitter “safety and trust” staff. No government entity or personnel were involved, other than to flag tweets that potentially violated Twitter’s rules. And those came from both Democrats and Republicans. Also, at the time, Biden wasn’t president. It all took place during Trump’s administration with his appointees heading the FBI and the Justice Department.

Yet Carlson thinks that there was something nefarious going on for which he found it “hard to imagine a more brazen attack on our democracy.” Really? More brazen than the attempt to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021? More brazen than trying to undermine the election for two years and install the loser as dictator? More brazen than calling for the “termination” of the Constitution.

RELATED: Trump Literally Calls for Termination of the Constitution and FREAKS OUT Over Bogus Fox News Story

Carlson also appears to have no idea what the First Amendment says. It is a constraint on government from imposing censorship. It has no authority over private individuals or businesses, such as Twitter.

Finally, Carlson really needs to think twice before bringing up in-kind contributions to political campaigns. Because if that were a concept that were upheld, Fox News would have have to declare billions of dollars in donations that it made to Trump and other GOP candidates for the past quarter century.
