Tucker Carlson: US is Only Aiding Ukraine to ‘Punish Russia’ for ‘Stealing Hillary Clinton’s Coronation’

Fox News has a roster of ultra-regressive shills who provide a daily dose of diatribes that are drenched with dishonesty. But on any given day you can rely on one pundit in particular to sink below the rest and unleash the most repugnant distortions of reality and flagrant conspiracy theories contrived on the manically right-wing network. And that dishonor is bestowed upon Fox’s Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson.

Hillary Clinton

Leave it to Carlson to find the scum-slathered bottom of every issue with his smug sermonizing and deliberate disregard for facts. The latest example of his Olympic-grade assholery was presented on Monday night during a segment on the Russian war in Ukraine. Carlson took his standard position in support of Russia and its genocidal dictator, Vladimir Putin.

RELATED: Fox News Senior Putin Apologist, Tucker Carlson, Pleads to Keep the Russian Dictator in Power

However, on this occasion Carlson went even further down the rabid hole with his warped analysis of why the United States is providing aid to Ukraine. And in his perverse perspective it had nothing to do with saving lives or defending a democratic ally. Carlson ranted that (video below)

“Democrats have convinced themselves Russia stole the presidency which rightfully belonged to Hillary Clinton. And they mean it when they say it. And that’s why they are taking us to war with Russia. [..] The war in Ukraine is not about saving democracy. Please.”

WHUT? Democrats are taking the U.S. to war because “Russia stole the presidency” from Hillary Clinton? That’s the sort of unique perspective that one would expect from a schizoid street preacher on meth. Carlson asserted that “We know the Biden administration doesn’t care” about the Ukrainian people or democracy and that “Many more Ukrainian civilians will die, certainly, thanks to the Biden administration’s policies.” He continued his rant saying that…

“If you wanted to save Ukraine, its people, its infrastructure, you would push for a settlement now. You would have done it two months ago. But they’re not doing that. […] Instead, the war in Ukraine is designed to cause regime change in Moscow. They want to topple the Russian government. That would be payback for the 2016 election. So this it the logical, maybe the inevitable, end stage of “Russiagate.” Now we should have seen this coming because they said it out loud years ago. Here’s Adam Schiff from two years ago predicting it, saying it. Watch this…”

Here we have Carlson unambiguously advocating for appeasement with the Russian invaders. He seriously believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should negotiate with Putin – who is murdering Ukrainian civilians – to concede part of Ukraine to Russia simply because Russia demands it. And Carlson’s claim that “the war in Ukraine is designed to cause regime change in Moscow” is utterly absurd. The war was started by Russia. So is Carlson saying that Russia designed the war to cause regime change in Russia?

RELATED: Trump’s ‘Solution’ to the War in Ukraine is to Appease Russia and Quash Any Criticism of Putin

Carlson then switches gears to assert that the war is actually “payback for the 2016 election.” And his justification for that ludicrous notion comes from something he clipped from Rep. Adam Schiff’s opening remarks of the first impeachment of Donald Trump:

Schiff video: As one witness put it during our impeachment inquiry, “The United States aids Ukraine and her people so that we can fight Russia over there and we don’t have to fight Russia over here.

As usual, Carlson edited that video to remove the context. Carlson is trying to portray the motivation for American aid to Ukraine as solely based on antipathy toward Russia. But in Schiff’s unedited remarks it is apparent that the concern for Ukraine was paramount:

“Trump conditioned hundreds of millions of dollars in congressionally appropriated, taxpayer-funded military assistance for the same purpose: to apply more pressure on Ukraine’s leader to announce the investigations. This military aid, which has long enjoyed strong bipartisan support, was designed to help Ukraine defend itself from the Kremlin’s aggression. More than fifteen thousand Ukrainians have died fighting Russian forces and their proxies, and the military aid was for such essentials as sniper rifles, rocket propelled grenade launchers, radar, night vision goggles and other vital support for the war effort.

Most critically, the military aid we provide Ukraine helps to protect and advance American national security interests in the region and beyond. America has an abiding interest in stemming Russian expansionism, and resisting any nation’s efforts to remake the map of Europe by dint of military force, even as we have tens of thousands of troops stationed there. Moreover, as one witness put it during our impeachment inquiry: ‘The United States aids Ukraine and her people so that they can fight Russia over there, and we don’t have to fight Russia here.'”

It’s also notable that it wasn’t just Democrats who supported aid to Ukraine. Republicans, then as now, voted to appropriate funds and military support. So that’s another reason that Carlson’s claim that Democrats plotted all of this to topple Putin doesn’t make any sense. But making sense clearly isn’t the objective of someone who claims that…

“We don’t arm Ukraine so we can help Ukrainians. They are merely unfortunate pawns in all of this. We arm Ukraine so that we can punish Russia. Why? For stealing Hillary Clinton’s coronation.”

So it’s still all about Hillary Clinton? REALLY? Notice that nowhere in Carlson’s harangue does he ever acknowledge that Russia initiated this heinous invasion against a peaceful neighbor. Or that, contrary to being pawns, Ukraine has been begging for help to fight Russia. To Carlson, just as to Trump, this is merely a negotiable difference of opinion that should be resolved by reaching a compromised settlement wherein both parties make concessions.

Never mind that it’s Putin who is the aggressor and refuses to negotiate. There is simply no way that Carlson will criticize Putin or demand that Russia cease its monstrous assault and leave Ukraine. And rather than acknowledge reality, he’s venturing even farther from it with his bizarre allegations about Hillary Clinton. Carlson is as cognitively deficient as Trump.

Trump’s ‘Solution’ to the War in Ukraine is to Appease Russia and Quash Any Criticism of Putin

This week Russia is escalating their genocidal assault on the people of Ukraine with an offensive in the eastern region of Donbas. It is already producing more of the atrocities and war crimes that Russia been committing for the past several weeks. The United States and it allies throughout the world are united in condemning Russia’s actions and are coming to the aid of the brave Ukrainians.

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

However, Donald Trump is continuing to whitewash Russia’s invasion and is offering advice that is repugnant and only serves to benefit the Russian aggressors. In a tweet posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill, Trump said that…

“It doesn’t make sense that Russia and Ukraine aren’t sitting down and working out some kind of an agreement. If they don’t do it soon, there will be nothing left but death, destruction, and carnage. This is a war that never should have happened, but it did. The solution can never be as good as it would have been before the shooting started, but there is a solution, and it should be figured out now—not later—when everyone will be DEAD!”

Notice that nowhere in this comment does Trump ever mention the savagery and inhumanity of what Russia is doing to innocents in Ukraine. He doesn’t acknowledge that Russia initiated the invasion against a peaceful neighbor. To Trump this is merely a negotiable difference of opinion that can be resolved by reaching a compromised settlement wherein both parties make concessions.

RELATED: Trump Doubles Down on His Treasonous Putin Puffery While Continuing to Insult Biden and America

That’s a position that is typical of Trump’s transactional approach to everything. He believes that bullies should get what they want just because they demand it. It’s also a position that leans heavily in favor of Trump’s pals in Russia who have no claim whatsoever to any accommodation by Ukraine. Why should Ukraine be forced to capitulate to the Russian marauders?

Notice also that nowhere in Trump’s comment does he even mention his BFF, Vladimir Putin. Trump has a long history of favoring Putin over his fellow Americans, especially President Biden. Trump viciously maligns Biden as a “radical” who is trying to “destroy” the country, and who is not fit for deliberations. But he thinks that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should be compelled to sit down with the murderous heathen, Putin, and make “some kind of an agreement.” Trump doesn’t (can’t) explain what that agreement might look like. But when he previously offered his assessment of the situation it devolved into an entirely irrelevant and inane rant about windmills. That’s right. Windmills!

RELATED: In Flaming Fox News Fiasco Trump Proves He Has No Friggin’ Idea What To Do About Ukraine

Trump’s pleading for Zelenskyy to cave in to Putin is particularly bizarre considering that it’s Putin who refuses to negotiate. Zelensky has consistently advocated discussions aimed at resolving the conflict, or even just allowing for the safe evacuation of civilians. In response, Putin just issued an ultimatum that Ukraine “surrender or die.” And it’s under those circumstances that Trump believes that Putin is a reasonable person with whom to negotiate and that Zelenskyy should acquiesce to him?

In 2019 Zelenskyy visited Trump in the White House to seek military aid from the U.S. while Russia was already supporting a separatist movement in Eastern Ukraine. During that meeting Trump brazenly lied about the differences between the military support given to Ukraine by President Obama and himself. Then, as now, Trump suggested that Ukraine’s problems with Russia could all be solved if they would just “get together” with Putin.

Remember, Trump was impeached (the first time) because he tried to hold military aid hostage in order to coerce Zelenskyy to fabricate dirt on then-candidate Joe Biden. You can tell what Zelenskyy thought about Trump’s advice by the look on his face when Trump said that…

“I really believe that President Putin would like to do something. I really hope that you and President Putin can get together and solve your problem.”

So Trump has been arguing Putin’s side in this conflict for at least three years. And his latest tweet is proof that he’s still doing so. He still thinks that Ukraine should be making concessions to their enemy. And he still refuses to articulate even the slightest criticism of Putin.

What’s worse is that the Republican Party is going along with Trump on all of this. Which ought to be more than enough reason to vote every last one of those anti-American cretins out of office before they decide that the U.S. should be making concessions to Russia too.

Fox News Putin Puppet Tucker Carlson’s False Flag Fiction Gets Ripped By CNN’s Jim Acosta

Tucker Carlson of Fox News must be so proud. He has achieved his life long dream. He has become the most watched American television commentator – on Russian television. Carlson achieved that milestone by his continuous and effusive praise for Vladimir Putin. And Russian TV has returned the favor.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Bullshit Factory

On Sunday, Jim Acosta of CNN took note of Carlson’s pro-Putin propaganda. While responsible journalists worldwide were documenting the war crimes being committed by Russian troops on Putin’s orders, Carlson was attempting to whitewash the matter and absolve Putin of any guilt by advancing the utterly baseless assertion that Ukraine was staging some of the scenes of horror. Carlson didn’t present a single shred of evidence of his grotesque accusation. But he was, nevertheless, “dead certain” of it, as he told his gullible viewers.

REALTED: WTF? Fox News Traitor Tucker Carlson Takes Russia’s Side Against Democracy and America

Acosta delivered a seething commentary that exposed Carlson’s treasonous betrayal of American interests and, more importantly, the welfare of the Ukrainian people who are being slaughtered by Putin’s genocidal militia. Acosta said that…

Acosta: With reports about Russian atrocities mounting, the truth about Putin’s invasion is beyond dispute. Much of the world has agreed that Putin’s army has committed war crimes by blatantly attacking civilians in Ukraine. Unless you happen to get your news in Russian. Then there’s Tucker Carlson, who has accused news outlets of lying about what’s really happening in Ukraine.

Carlson: If news organizations are eagerly promoting lies about a war in progress, what can the rest of us believe? What can we know is true? And honestly, it’s hard to know what is true. We can be sure Russian soldiers have committed atrocities. There are countless pictures of that. Some must be real. But we can also be dead certain the war is not, despite what they tell us, a childish tale of good versus evil. This is Eastern Europe, after all. Everything is a lot more complicated than it looks on America TV.

Acosta went on to note that Carlson’s caustic lecturing was “A reminder that this is the same commentator who said in 2019 that he was rooting for Russia over Ukraine.” And then getting to the core of Carlson’s repulsiveness, Acosta said that…

“Last week Tucker Carlson tried to imply that some of what you are seeing has been fabricated and amplified by news organizations. That sounds a lot like what we heard from Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, who said that bodies of Ukrainian civilians lining the streets of Bucha were, quote, a forgery aimed at denigrating the Russian army.”

This isn’t the first time that Carlson has spread flagrant lies about imaginary “false flag” operations. Last year he produced an entire crocumentary about the January 6th insurrection that he claimed was a false flag affair staged by the FBI. It was also not the first time that Acosta has hammered Carlson for being what he colorfully christened a Human Manure Spreader.” Then, on Sunday, Acosta closed by saying that…

“News organizations are not repeating lies, as Tucker Carlson put it. Innocent people, children, are being targeted in Ukraine. There is nothing childish about that. And journalists are putting their lives on the line to tell the truth. Something you’d think that Tucker would know, considering some of the journalists injured or killed bravely reporting the truth worked for Fox.”

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Fox News is complicit in this junkyard journalism. It is what they specialize in. And it is why President Biden was so right when he said that Fox News is “one of the most destructive forces in the U.S.”

Even Tucker Carlson Says Biden Was Right About Russia Invading Ukraine – for About 5 Seconds

America’s foremost Russian asset is at it again. Tucker Carlson of Fox News has distinguished himself among America’s white-wing blowhards as Russia’s favorite western media “personality.” He shamelessly fawns over Vladimir Putin and maligns President Biden, even during a time of war. No wonder Russian TV venerates Fox News and replays Carlson on an almost nightly basis.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

On Wednesday night Carlson continued his adoration of all things Putin. But this time he may have given some unintended credit to President Biden. In a rambling rant Carlson delivered a rather bizarre take on the Russian assault on Ukraine saying that…

“When the Russian military invaded Ukraine last month, the most highly credentialed people in the world seemed stunned by it […] That’s pretty weird if you think about it, because for weeks, Joe Biden had been speaking in a very loud voice about a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine. They seemed ready for it and yet it turns out that nobody in Washington, including Biden himself, really thought it was going to happen and when it did happen, official Washington concluded that Putin must be insane.”

What? Carlson just said that “Biden had been speaking in a very loud voice about a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine” and that “Biden himself [didn’t think] it was going to happen” – in the same freakin’ sentence! It’s true that Biden had correctly predicted that Russia would invade Ukraine. He said back in mid January that “My guess is [Putin] will move in.” And he repeated that prediction several times in the weeks that followed. However, contrary to Carlson’s assertion, there is no record of Biden ever saying that did not think that would happen. As usual, Carlson is making stuff up to fit – or rather manufacture – his narrative.

What’s more, Carlson advises his already dimwitted audience to listen only to those “who saw the Ukraine war coming and said so out loud.” That, of course, is President Biden, as Carlson himself said above. But shortly thereafter Carlson contradicted himself (again) to say that Biden didn’t say what Carlson already said that he said. Then Carlson went further over the edge saying that “The U.S. has never had a president as reckless as Joe Biden.” For being right?

Carlson’s entire monologue was an introduction to a commentary by the British white nationalist, Nigel Farage. Not surprisingly, Farage agrees with Carlson’s exaltation of Putin and recommends that the West surrender to his imperialistic aggression. They think we should just give Putin everything he wants. Farage and Carlson believe that Putin “is actually on our side,” and admonish us against “provoking Putin, whether we like him or not.”

They are good couple of obedient, fascist, sycophants, aren’t they? Carlson then unleashed a common and ridiculous whine among conservatives that they/he is being censored, while he’s disgorging his lies on a national television network: He asked…

“Why did the Russians do this? It’s not treasonous to ask that.[…] but our leaders so far have refused to do that. They keep lying to themselves. They’re imposing censorship on the rest of us.”

Here Carlson is reprising his signature method of propagating crackpot conspiracy theories by pretending to ask innocent questions. But his questions are actually carefully contrived statements intended to advance his overtly political biases. In this case he’s questioning anyone who would criticize Vladimir Putin for launching an unprovoked, genocidal invasion of his peaceful neighbor Ukraine.

Carlson complains that some pundits have been mean to Putin by characterizing him as insane. Because Carlson, like Trump, thinks Putin is a genius and devotedly defends him. Which proves that Carlson is right that somebody here is indeed insane. Except that it’s Carlson himself. Who is also flagrantly anti-American.

Connecting the Dots: Trump Begs Putin for Dirt on Biden While Russia Calls Trump Their Partner

The long festering and treasonous infatuation that Donald Trump has for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is a well documented fact. It was apparent even before Trump’s occupation of the White House, an electoral catastrophe that Putin admits to having engineered.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin

Trump’s reliance on Putin can be seen as early as July of 2016 when he asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails. Trump then spent most of his single term in office taking Putin’s side over that of the U.S. Yet he still has the gall to file a preposterous lawsuit against Clinton (and several dozen others) claiming that his Russia-lust was “fake news.”

Now Trump has taken his adoration of Putin down to another new low. While Russia is currently engaged in a genocidal assault against America’s democratic ally Ukraine, Trump just asked Putin, our enemy’s leader, dig up dirt on our President and his family. And he even brags about this via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill. In this interview by a right-wing website Trump says that…

“As long as Putin is not exactly a fan of our country… Let him explain why did the mayor of Moscow’s wife give Joe Biden, both of them, $3.5 million? … So now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. Now, you won’t get the answer from Ukraine.”

For the record, there is as much evidence of these allegations by Trump as there is of the election fraud he is still ranting about – NONE! These charges have been debunked repeatedly. Not that Trump cares about these facts, or any others.

In the meantime, Trump’s Russian pals are eager to embrace him and his mouthpieces on Fox News. Respected Russia watcher Julia Davis recently reported on how Russia’s state-run TV is re-airing Tucker Carlson’s program and parroting baseless charges against the Bidens:

“These days, [Russian] state television draws on a bounty of translated quotes almost exclusively from two Western voices: Tucker Carlson of Fox News and former U.S. President Donald J. Trump. [and that] Russia’s Defense Ministry released a colorful diagram, purporting to demonstrate that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, is secretly bankrolling the Pentagon’s biolabs in Ukraine.”

So while Trump is clinging to, and praising, his Russian confederates, the Russian government and media is dispensing his propaganda. And they are not the least bit shy about this sordid relationship. Russian TV host Evgeny Popov recently opined that

“It is time for us, for our people, to call on the people of the United States to change the regime in the U.S. early, and to again help our partner Trump to become president.”

That’s a remarkable statement. First of all, Popov is advocating the “early” removal of President Biden from office by means that he doesn’t disclose. And then somehow replacing him with Trump, also by some mysterious mechanism. Popov also confesses that Trump is Russia’s “partner” whom they wish to help “again.” Presumably like they did in 2016 and, unsuccessfully, in 2020.

Now that Trump and Russia are openly talking about their nefarious partnership, it is all the more obvious why Trump would solicit Putin’s help in manufacturing scandals to malign Biden. It is an unsavory relationship that is also flagrantly unpatriotic. Yet both parties to this heinous hookup are proudly extolling it. And let’s not forget that Fox News and the Republican Party are firmly and comfortably behind all of it. You really have to wonder how any loyal American citizen can tolerate this blatant betrayal.

Biden Mocks ‘Silly’ Peter Doocy of Fox News for Asking Him to Divulge US Response to Russian War Crimes

Nothing thrills Fox News more than latching unto random remarks by President Biden that they can deceptively misrepresent as controversial, out of context sentence fragments to make him look bad. It’s a core component of what Fox regards as journalism. They appear to have a well staffed “gaffe” division that does nothing else but seek out these phony oratorical opportunities.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

On Monday morning it was Peter Doocy’s turn to fire a barrage of these alleged bloopers at Biden. The President was returning from Poland where he had honored American soldiers aiding Ukraine in their defense against the Russian invasion. It was a productive trip that reinforced the NATO alliance and its commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty. But the media – particularly Fox News and others on the right – seemed fixated on a petty gaffe wherein Biden said what most of the world was thinking: that the heinous butcher Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.”

RELATED: Fox News Howls Hypocritically Over Biden Correctly Calling Peter Doocy a ‘Stupid Son of a B*tch’

That off the cuff comment sparked a firestorm of faux controversy about whether Biden was calling for regime change in Russia. But it was only a portion of the scandal mongering engaged in by Doocy. When called on by Biden at the press conference, the following exchange took place (video below):

Biden: I know you’re gonna ask a really nice question.
Doocy: Well, it’s an important question, I think. Are you worried that other leaders in the world are gonna start to doubt that America is back if some of these big things that you say on the world stage keep getting walked back?
Biden: What’s getting walked back?
Doocy: You made it sound like, just in these last couple of days, It sounded like you told the U.S. troops they were going to Ukraine. It sounded like you said it was possible the U.S. would use a chemical weapon. And It sounded like you were calling for regime change in Russia.

Notice that Doocy repeatedly referred to things he said “sounded like” something to be worried about. That’s your first clue that he was making up his outrage and basing it entirely on his spin. And the result that he implied was that world leaders would be put off by it. To the contrary, most foreign policy experts considered the trip an unqualified success. Biden responded to Doocy’s questions saying that…

Biden: None of those three occurred. You interpret the language that way. I was talking to the troops, we were talking about helping train the Ukrainian troops that are in Poland. That’s what the context is. I sat there with those guys for a couple of hours. That’s what we talked about.
Doocy: So when you said “You’re going to see when you’re there…”
Biden: I was referring to being with and talking with the Ukrainian troops that were in Poland.
Doocy: And when you said a chemical weapon used by Russia would trigger a response in kind?
Biden: It would trigger a significant response.
Doocy: What does that mean?
Biden: I’m not going to tell you. Why would I tell you? You’ve gotta be silly.
Doocy: The world wants to know.
Biden: The world wants to know a lot of things. I’m not telling them what the response would be. Then Russia knows the response.

Biden was pretty gentle with Doocy, by merely calling his question “silly.” He could have said it was “idiotic,” or “dangerous,” or otherwise astonishingly foolish to think that any President would disclose such privileged information in a televised press conference. But you can rest assured that when Fox News reports this they will characterize Biden as being snippy and disrespectful to the press. Never mind that they they adored Trump when he maligned the media as “fake” and “the enemy of the people,” and even fantasized about getting rid of them like Putin does.

Fox News Spurns Ukrainians Coming to the US Because ‘They’re Doing Great for a Group of War Refugees’

From the onset of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Fox News has staked out a deplorable, inhumane, and anti-American position in favor of Vladimir Putin’s genocidal assault on a peaceful neighbor. It’s been so blatant that Russia’s foreign minister went out of his way to praise the network saying that “only Fox News is trying to present some alternative point of view.”

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News Sad

Praise for Putin is not, however, an “alternative view” on Fox News. It is the official editorial doctrine of the network and its most watched programs. Tucker Carlson has argued fiercely in support of Russia over Ukraine, and more specifically – and despicably – in favor of Putin continuing his reign of brutal tyranny.

Not to be outdone, Carlson’s fellow hate monger, Laura Ingraham, presided over a profoundly insensitive segment on Friday night’s episode of her White Nationalist Hour. In a discussion about the refugee crisis stemming from the war in Ukraine, Ingraham interviewed Todd Bensman of the far-right, racist, and notoriously anti-immigrant Center for Immigration Studies. Ingraham began her loathsome discourse with a wholly disingenuous appeal for compassion (video below):

“The Biden administration announced yesterday that we would welcome 100,000 Ukrainian refugees. Obviously, our hearts break for the people in Ukraine. It is absolutely horrific what has happened to them. But is bringing them all the way to the United States in their best interest? And what about the U.S. taxpayers?”

It is, indeed “horrific” what has happened to the Ukrainian people, which is the direct result of the foreign policy advocated by Fox News. Ingraham went on to preface her first question with the assertion that it is “a fable that these Ukrainian war refugees desperately need American sanctuary.” Benson replied that…

“There’s really no reason whatsoever for Ukrainians to be coming to our border or for us to be bringing in huge swells, numbers of Ukrainians here. They’re doing great for a group of war refugees.”

WTF? The three million plus refugees pouring into Poland and other nations are suffering unimaginable hardships, despite the goodhearted intentions of the countries welcoming them. They are living in tents, if they’re lucky, and are struggling to obtain food, medicine, and other necessities. How is that by any stretch of a diseased imagination “doing great”? Bensman went on to say that…

“It’s utterly unnecessary to do this. I understand the plight, I think we all understand, that these are definitely a victimized nationality. But remember, we also have a lot of Ukrainians smuggling or flying into Mexico and coming up to our southern border. That’s the one I worry about the most, because our southern border is utterly collapsing right now.”

So in addition to trivializing the misery of the Ukrainian refugees, Bensman managed to twist this discussion into one of Fox’s favorite right-wing propaganda topics, America’s southern border. He seems to be arguing that we still need a border wall to keep out the Ukrainians. However, he’s actually making a good case for more compassion for the Latin American refugees who are also fleeing hostilities and poverty in their home countries.

Something that both Ingraham and Bensman have neglected to consider are the reasons that the U.S. is offering to help Ukrainians. Those reasons are clearly stated in the White House Fact Sheet on the subject, if they had bothered to read it:

“While we expect many Ukrainians will choose to remain in Europe close to family and their homes in Ukraine, today, the United States is announcing plans to welcome up to 100,000 Ukrainians and others fleeing Russia’s aggression through the full range of legal pathways, including the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. In particular, we are working to expand and develop new programs with a focus on welcoming Ukrainians who have family members in the United States.”

So this policy seeks to take some of the burden off of Ukraine’s neighbors who are already doing so much to help. But in addition to that, it is uniting refugees with family members in the U.S. Not that that is something that Fox News or Republicans give a damn about considering their record of ripping families from south of the border apart. It’s all just a continuation of the right’s platform of hate and division. And it’s no less than what we expect of them.

Trump’s Loopy Lawsuit Against Hillary Clinton and ‘Her Cohorts’ Reads Like Sleazy Pulp Fiction

What could be more predictable than Donald Trump attempting to divert attention away from whatever new self-created calamity is causing him grief? Just as news has broken about his legal tribulations, and the investigation into his role in the January 6th insurrection gets closer to issuing criminal referrals, Trump announces another of his spectacularly asinine media stunts.

Click here to Tweet this article

Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump

On Thursday Trump’s legal team revealed that they have filed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, and nearly fifty other people who the suit describes as “her cohorts,” in a conspiracy aimed at “destroying his life.” The list of defendants is itself a comedic exercise in extremist overreaching and includes Clinton, along with numerous Democratic operatives and FBI officials. It’s 108 pages of pure paranoid bullpucky that any reputable lawyer – or fiction author – would be embarrassed to be associated with.

RELATED: Hillary Clinton: They’re Getting Awfully Close to Actual Malice

The filing contained the obligatory inanities and misspellings that are commonly littered throughout any Trump legal document. But most prominent in this chronicle of conspiracy crackpottery are the innumerable lies and disinformation. It began with a flourish of fallacious fabrications soaked in utterly implausible melodrama:

In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts orchestrated an unthinkable plot – one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation’s democracy. Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty. The actions taken in furtherance of their scheme—falsifying evidence, deceiving law enforcement, and exploiting access to highly-sensitive data sources – are so outrageous, subversive and incendiary that even the events of Watergate pale in comparison. […]

“Defendants, blinded by political ambition, orchestrated a malicious conspiracy to disseminate patently false and injurious information about Donald J. Trump and his campaign, all in the hopes of destroying his life, his political career and rigging the 2016 Presidential Election in favor of Hillary Clinton.”

From there the filing went on to throw in every deceitful and baseless allegation Trump has peddled for more than six years. For instance…

“Special Counsel Mueller went on to exonerate Donald J. Trump and his campaign with his finding that there was no evidence of collusion with Russia.”
To the contrary, Robert Mueller explicitly stated that Trump was not exonerated and he enumerated at least ten instances of obstruction of justice.

And…

“The full extent of the Defendants’ wrongdoing has been steadily and gradually exposed by Special Counsel John Durham.”
Actually, Durham never alleged the wrongdoing that Trump implies. To date he has only addressed some tracking of publicly available Internet activity. What’s more, Durham’s reporting clearly states that the period of time that such Internet activity was being monitored was during President Obama’s term, not Trump’s.

In the 108 pages of this filing Trump referenced “Russia” 159 times. His obsession with absolving himself of any alleged “collusion” is obvious. But it is also ludicrous. A bipartisan report from the GOP-led Senate Intelligence Committee found that…

“The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat […] it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.”

Trump’s lawsuit also makes false claims that the defendants were “hacking servers at Trump Tower, Trump’s private apartment, and, most alarmingly, the White House.” However, there is no evidence of that in the filing or reality. Although we do know that Trump asked Russia to hack Clinton’s emails, because he made that request on national television. Trump also mentioned Wikileaks in the lawsuit. Which is curious considering that the data Wikileaks made available to the Trump campaign was confirmed to have been provided by Russian hackers.

Any credible person analyzing this lawsuit cannot help but come away with the impression that it is nothing more than a deliberate distraction based on demonstrable lies. If it were made into a soap opera, it would be laughably unwatchable. The writers would be suing to have their names removed from the credits.

This lawsuit reeks of the sort of ineptitude that is the hallmark of Trump’s legal team. But if it proceeds, which is doubtful, it will offer some of the best entertainment deriving from the discovery process and Trump’s depositions. So here’s hoping that Trump is stupid enough to go forward with it.

UPDATE 9/9/2022: Trump’s ludicrous lawsuit got laughed out of court

“Trump ‘is not attempting to seek redress for any legal harm,’ [Judge] Middlebrooks said. ‘He is seeking to flaunt a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him, and this Court is not the appropriate forum.'”

Sean Hannity Regurgitates Swill From Russian Shill for His Nightly Biden Bashing on Fox News

The American Bureau of the Russian Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News) is continuing to disseminate the Kremlin’s narrative about Russia’s genocidal war against Ukraine and their anti-American propaganda attacking President Joe Biden. Vladimir Putin couldn’t be any more satisfied with the programming on Fox News if he were directing himself. Which, so far as anyone can tell by watching it, he is.

Fox News, Sean Hannity, Vladimir Putin

On Friday night Sean Hannity fulfilled his role in pushing Russian propaganda in a segment that was literally written for him by a spokesperson for the Kremlin. Hannity read verbatim from a statement that was released by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Peskov was responding to recent comments by Biden accurately accusing Putin of being a “war criminal” and a “murderous dictator.” Apparently Hannity disagreed with Biden – and most of the free world – and sought to defend his soulmate Vladimir, saying that…

“When describing Biden, a Kremlin spokesperson said, quote, ‘Given such irritability from Mr. Biden, his fatigue and sometimes forgetfulness, fatigue that leads to aggressive statements, we will not make harsh assessments, so as not to cause more aggression.’

Now, like I’ve been saying, Biden’s weakness on the world stage, it is emboldening bad actors all across the globe as Biden and Democrats abandoned the peace through strength strategy that was successful under President Trump and even President Reagan.”

It’s true that Hannity has been saying that Biden is weak throughout his presidency. That’s bad enough under ordinary circumstances, but it’s downright treasonous during wartime. Hannity is giving aid and comfort to our enemy who is currently slaughtering civilians in Ukraine, our democratic ally. Talk about “emboldening bad actors.” Hannity is describing himself, his colleagues at Fox News, and the Republican Party, doing just that.

Hannity’s embrace of Kremlin propaganda (again) comes just one day after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov singled out Fox New for praise, saying that “only Fox News is trying to present some alternative point of view.” By which he means a point of view that is approving of Putin’s inhumane massacre of innocents. And Hannity continues to earn that praise with servile commentaries like this one, wherein he sympathetically recites the words of his masters in Moscow, while callously ignoring the human tragedies that are taking place even as he speaks.

Only on Fox News: Russian Foreign Minister Praises the Network’s Pro-Putin Propaganda

For anyone who wasn’t previously convinced that Fox News is serving as the U.S. bureau of the Kremlin’s Ministry of Disinformation, we now have concrete evidence that Russia has adopted the far-right network and exploits its anchors and guests to advance their propaganda mission.

Fox News Commies

Fox’s roster of right-wing ranters have abandoned any pretense to patriotism as they shill unabashedly for Russia. Their Senior Putin Apologist Tucker Carlson, stands out for his fealty to Vladimir Putin and his cheerleading for a Russian victory in its genocidal war on Ukraine.

That devotion to an editorial ideology that favors America’s enemies has now earned Fox News the admiration of Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov. In an interview on the Kremlin sponsored RT cable channel, Lavrov lavished praise on Fox News as a singular voice for Russia’s interests (starts at 3:35):

“We understood long ago that there is no such thing as an independent Western media. You could take the United States, only Fox News is trying to present some alternative point of view. But when you see, you watch other channels, and when you watch, read social networks and Internet platforms, when the acting president was blocked. as you know. And this censorship continues in very big way.”

Lavrov’s tribute to Fox’s fawning over Russia was driven by the constant drumbeat of pro-Putin programming that dominates Fox’s schedule. When Lavrov says that “only Fox News is trying to present some alternative point of view,” what he means is that only Fox News will toe the official Kremlin line that Russia is the beleaguered party in the conflict with Ukraine, and that only Fox News will lie to advance that so-called “alternative point of view.” Apparently Lavrov has bought into the “alternative facts” theme made famous by former Trump White House Director of Newspeak, Kellyanne Conway.

What’s more, for Lavrov to complain about censorship in the U.S. is utterly bizarre. First of all, he doesn’t bother to document any censorship by the U.S. government whatsoever. The decisions of private companies to moderate their own websites is actually an affirmation of freedom in a democratic society. The government is not permitted to force those companies to act according to some official mandate.

In Lavrov’s country, however, the government just passed a law that prohibits news organizations from reporting factually about the war Russia is waging against Ukraine. Media companies are being forced out of Russia, and journalists are being arrested and threatened. And what the heck does he mean by “the acting president was blocked”? Does Lavrov think that Trump still holds some official position in the U.S. government?

Lavrov went on to criticize CNN, saying that…

“If you take CNN, they they prefer to avoid analytical materials, and they more and more concentrate on some reports, which would be made of slogans. Russia is an aggressor. Russia is murdering civilians.”

Of course, the allegations of Russia being an aggressor and murdering civilians are not slogans. They are what free people refer to as facts. And Lavrov’s complaints about CNN avoiding “analytical material” makes about as much sense as Donald Trump complaining about U.S. cable companies that have ceased to carry openly pro-Russian propaganda outlets like One America News (OAN) and RT, the channel that Lavrov was interviewed on.

The harmony between the commentaries by Russia and Trump shouldn’t surprise anyone. Because they have long shared the same political objectives of suppressing free thought, destroying liberal democracies and supporting authoritarian dictatorships. No wonder Lavrov is so fond of both Trump and Fox News.
