OH REALLY? The Truth Slips Out as Trump Brags that ‘I Worked Very Hard on Voter Fraud’

Donald Trump made an appearance Tuesday at the Federal Appeals Court that is hearing his ludicrous claim of “presidential immunity.” He was not required to be there, and he contributed nothing to the proceedings, except for his infamous scowl at the defense attorney’s table. It’s safe to assume the the judges weren’t impressed by that.

Donald Trump Red Face

Like everything else Trump does, his court cameo was a staged stunt for the press so that he could make another one of his incoherent, post-hearing harangues that are invariably rife with lies and self-exaltation. And on that level he did not disappoint.

SEE ALSO: Trump’s Fear and Desperation Kick Into High Gear in Bonkers Rant About the Supreme Court Appeal

Immediately following the hearing, Trump and his legal team assembled in the hallway to hold court with the press. Why the press continues to accommodate these purely political stump screeches is a mystery. But every now and then there is some morsel of news, or at least gossip, that escapes. And on this occasion Trump was inadvertently honest about his connection to voter fraud…

“It’s a very sad thing that’s happened with this whole situation. When they talk about ‘threat to democracy,’ that’s your real threat to democracy. And I feel that as a president, you have to have immunity. Very simple. And if you don’t, as an example, if this case were lost on immunity – and I did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing wrong. I’m working for the country. And I worked very hard on voter fraud. Because we have to have free elections. We have to have strong borders. We have to have free elections. Those two things, almost above all.”

It’s notable that Trump began by whining about how sad he is. Although that was more than apparent in his despondent demeanor. Then he dives right into his inane assertion that the accurate observations of his overt acts that threaten democracy are somehow the “real” threats. That nonsense led to his tedious, and legally baseless, insistence that he is entitled to absolute immunity for any crime that he wants to commit.

Among Trump’s crimes that are already included in his 91 felony charges, are his attempts to undermine democracy by inciting a violent coup, recruiting fake electors, and threatening state officials into altering vote counts. So it is ironic that Trump’s statement included the confession that “I worked very hard on voter fraud.” Yeah, we know!

Of course, what Trump meant to say was that he worked against voter fraud. Which he never actually did. And his remarks came out in an ironically honest gaffe. However, what Trump does say without errors is often even more repulsive. For instance, his recent adoption of Nazi rhetoric such as “vermin” and “poisoning the blood” in reference to his political foes and/or immigrants.

What’s more, Trump’s attorney made arguments before the appellate court that would effectively indemnify Trump – or any president – for political assassination:

To be clear, Trump’s lawyer is saying that a president who had not already been impeached and convicted in the Senate (which is a political body, not a court) could not be prosecuted for ordering a hit on his political opponents. In other words, President Biden could have Trump whacked tomorrow, then resign from office making Kamala Harris president, and the law could not touch him.

That’s the sort of foreboding argument one might expect from someone who idolizes totalitarian tyrants, who has called for terminating the Constitution, and has already declared publicly that he would be a dictator (for one day?) were he to be reelected. And anyone who believes, that after becoming a dictator on day one, he would relinquish his dictatorship the next day, is terminally naïve – or a MAGA cult disciple. Which, I know, is redundant.

Fox News Affirms its Role as Ministry of Propaganda for Donald Trump and the MAGA Cult

2023 will be remembered for many things. Not the least of which is that it is the year that Donald Trump became the first former United States president to be indicted for crimes against America. Those indictments – 91 felony counts – include charges of violating the Espionage Act, financial fraud, inciting a violent insurrection to undermine democracy, and even sexual harassment and rape.

Donald Trump Fox News

However, the despicable treachery of Trump must not obscure the memory of another historical milestone that occurred the same year. Fox News agreed to an unprecedented settlement of a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for 3/4 of billion dollars. The suit documented how Fox News aided and abetted Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from Trump.

SEE THIS: The Fox News 3/4 Billion Dollar Dominion Defamation Settlement is Also a Judgment Against Trump

Following the settlement, Fox News seemed to distance themselves a bit from Trump. That’s what happens when internal communications reveal that they frequently disparaged him and admitted privately that they didn’t buy into his lies. Even Sean Hannity, when was asked by Dominion’s lawyer about Trump’s unfounded claims, replied that “I did not believe it for one second.” Although “one second” was about as long as that distancing lasted.

Fox News recently announced that they are holding a town hall in Iowa featuring Trump on Wednesday, January 10. That’s just five days before Iowa’s Republican primary caucus. There is no indication that any other candidate is getting that sort of promotion prior to the GOP’s first primary vote. It’s a valuable gift they’re giving only to Trump. [Update 1/7/2024: Fox has announced town halls for DeSantis and Haley on January 8th and 9th respectively, but Trump’s is the only one in primetime]

What’s more, that town hall has been scheduled at exactly the same time as the previously announced Republican debate between Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley on CNN. So Fox News is deliberately counterprogramming the CNN debate with Trump’s opponents that Trump refused to participate in. And it would not be surprising if it turned out that Trump demanded that time slot and Fox News obediently complied. [Update 1/9/2023: In an interview with The Deseret News, Bret Baier confirmed that “It was the Trump campaign’s demand. They would only do it if it was at that time.” And Fox News, were they ethical, could have declined, but agreed to Trump’s self-serving terms.]

The criteria that CNN stipulated for participation in the debate pretty much guaranteed that only DeSantis and Haley would qualify. And CNN is also airing a debate prior to the New Hampshire primary with similar criteria that could result in only Haley and Chris Christie qualifying. It will be interesting to see what Fox News and Trump cook up to deflect from that event.

The Trump town hall on Fox News is likely to be a dull affair. The moderators, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, are not known for their aggressive journalism when it comes to Trump or the GOP. And Trump probably would not have agreed to it without favorable pre-conditions. The fact that he’s doing it all is peculiar, considering his recent expressions of love/hate for Fox News…

SEE ALSO: Trump Says He Watches a Lot of Fox News, That He Also Says is ‘Totally Fake’ and ‘Unwatchable’

Apparently Fox’s efforts to placate Trump are paying off. For instance, they downplayed his flagrant forays into fascism. They also defended him from charges he violated the Constitution’s 14th Amendment by engaging in an insurrection.

With Fox News shelling out precious primetime air, while contesting the time period with CNN’s debate, it’s clear that the network and Trump have reconciled for the time being. It’s also clear that their reuniting will further damage the public’s ability to be adequately informed. But then that was never the mission of either Fox News or Donald Trump.

UPDATE: The audience for the Trump town hall on Fox News was 4.3 million, just slightly more than their regular programming. The audience for CNN’s debate was 2.6 million, more than 5 times their usual draw. So CNN actually benefited far more from the special programs than Fox did, despite Fox’s attempt to hamper CNN and Trump’s Republican challengers.

Dotard J. Trump is ‘Pleased to Share’ a Report Filled with Already Debunked Election Fraud Lies

As the January 6 anniversary of the violent insurrection that Donald Trump incited approaches, Trump is still yammering that he believes it was a justified action by “patriots” who were angry that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from Trump. Even though he has never produced any evidence to support his utterly unfounded allegations.

Donald Trump, Insane, Straight Jacket

Trump’s tedious obsession with the election he lost to President Biden remains uppermost on his mind despite the fact that he has lost more than 60 court cases contesting the results, and virtually everyone of his own administration’s advisors on election matters told him that there were no irregularities. They include his FBI director, Chris Wray, his DHS chief of cybersecurity, Chris Krebs, and his Attorney General, Bill Barr, who called such claims “bullsh*t.” The only people standing by Trump’s “Big Lie” are Ultra MAGA Republicans, biased right-wing media, and Vladimir Putin…

SEE THIS: Traitor Trump Posts Video of Putin Supporting Him and Attacking the ‘Rottenness’ of U.S. Politics

On Tuesday morning Trump took to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, to present another of his parlays into pure propaganda regarding his humiliating defeat in 2020. This episode consisted of three posts wherein he linked to what he called a “fully verified” report entitled “SUMMARY OF ELECTION FRAUD IN THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN THE SWING STATES,” about which he said…

Page One: “I am pleased to share a Report that is fully verified […] and compiled by the most highly qualified Election Experts in the Country.”

It will surprise no one to learn that the report was neither verified, nor compiled by experts. In fact, there were no authors identified, nor any organization taking responsibility for compiling it. It was a completely anonymous pile of rubbish. And most of it was old and had been completely debunked long ago.

Many of the claims in the 32 page document were attributed to notoriously untrustworthy, Trump-fluffing fringe characters like the Gateway Pundit, Just the News, the Epoch Times, Georgia Star News, and random videos from the rightist YouTube ripoff, Rumble. Trump continued…

Page Two: Remember, I was not campaigning – The 2020 Election was LONG OVER. What I was doing is bringing to light the fact that the Election was, without question, Rigged and Stolen. As President, and Commander-in-Chief, it was my duty to do so! […] Therefore I am entitled to Total Immunity.”

Wrong again! First of all, Trump was bringing nothing to light. Certainly not any proof of election fraud. Secondly, it is not the “duty” of the president to assess or reform the administration of elections. The Constitution places all of that within the jurisdiction of the states.

Trump falsely claimed that “I would have been in violation of my Oath of Office, and the Take Care Clause, which requires the President to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.'” Nope! The “Take Care” clause refers to Federal laws. None of which applied to the matters that Trump was unlawfully injecting himself into. By Trump’s definition he would be responsible for every state law from murder to jaywalking.

What’s more, Trump is clinging again to his perverse interpretation of “presidential immunity,” that he seems to think absolves him of any accountability for committing any crime. If he were right, that would give Biden the power to rig the next election, or even to treat Trump the way that Putin treats his political opponents, who seem to keep falling out of windows. And Trump continued further…

Page Three: Please study these numbers carefully […] Because the Democrats are already trying to [use] the DOJ, FBI, and local Attorney Generals and D.A.’s to go after Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent – ME.”

No amount of studying will make Trump’s numbers worthy of consideration. They come from well known discredited sources, and have been proven to lack any connection to reality. And despite his desperate and repeated attempts, Trump has never been able to associate Biden or other Democrats with the prosecutors who are trying his cases. The indictments were all brought by citizens sitting on Grand Juries.

Trump is starting the new year the same way he ended the last one: With delusions of election fraud, mired in persecution and victimhood, and fraught with fear of what the future holds for him as result of his unconstrained criminal activities. That bucket of psychoses is going to be at the heart of his presidential campaign straight through until November, if he makes it that long without winding up in a prison or an asylum.

Trump Lawyer Complains that Just Factually Reporting His Legal Problems is Election Interference

Donald Trump and his team of legal “stable geniuses” aren’t wasting any time in the new year contriving ever more outlandish arguments in defense of his unprecedented compendium of crimes. To date he has racked up 91 felony counts ranging from financial fraud, to theft and mishandling of classified materials, to inciting an insurrection, and even to sexual harassment and rape.

Donald Trump Sweating

In the more than three years since Trump lost the election to President Biden, he has maintained a singular fixation on his wholly imaginary allegations of election fraud, asserting that, despite having lost by more than seven million votes, he insists that he won in a landslide. Never mind that he has been unable to produce a shred of evidence to support his wild claims. He clings to his delusions even as many of those who know him best are increasingly coming forward with the truth.

SEE THIS: Crybaby Trump Has a New Year’s Eve Breakdown Over Former Staffers Telling the Truth About Him

On New Year’s Day Trump’s attorney, Christina Bobb, was interviewed on the ultra-rightist, Trump-fluffing “news” network, Newsmax. She was asked about recent reports that Maine’s Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows, had concluded that Trump is ineligible to have his name placed on the Republican primary ballot due to his having violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. Section Three of the Amendment prohibits those who have engaged in an insurrection from holding office.

Undeterred by facts or reason, Bobb, endeavored to defend Trump with a familiar refrain that he chants like a mantra. According to Trump, all of the indictments and lawsuits against him are nothing but “election interference.” But Bobb went even farther than that. As reported by The Independent

“An attorney for Donald Trump says that his supporters should not be made to believe that he has legal problems, following a decision to have the former president’s name taken off the Republican ballot in Maine.

Christina Bobb accused opponents of the former president of putting out ‘propaganda’ to harm his 2024 presidential run.”

[Bobb said that] “This narrative that Trump isn’t going to be ineligible, trying to instill fear in the voters that oh, maybe I shouldn’t vote for him… maybe I shouldn’t follow him because he won’t be on the ballot.

“They’re trying to discourage people from supporting Donald Trump thinking he’s got all these legal problems. That is election interference.”

Get it? Bobb is arguing that complying with the Constitution is tantamount to “instilling fear” in voters. But even worse, she says that simply informing voters of Trump’s legal problems is election interference. In Bobb’s mind, if the media reports facts that might discourage people from voting for Trump they are improperly interfering with the election. She is upset that if people learn that Trump has multiple criminal indictments pending it will result in them “thinking he’s got all these legal problems.” And she is appalled that people might think that, even though it’s undeniably true.

In effect Bobb is arguing that merely campaigning against Trump is election interference. Because any criticism from an opponent could result in discouraging votes for Trump. DeSantis couldn’t say that Trump increased the deficit by nearly $8 trillion (which he did). Biden couldn’t say that Trump bragged about being responsible for overturning Roe v Wade (which he did). In the Trump Cult only praise of Trump is permitted.

On the other hand, Trump can spew whatever flagrant lies he wants to with impunity (which he does). All the while charging that his opponents are engaging in election interference. That phrase is one that Trump repeats ad infinitum. In just the last week Trump posted the following comments on his failing social media scam, Truth Social

  • 12/31/23: They had 3 years to file—Now I get their rushed and bad papers on New Year’s Eve. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!
  • 12/29/23: This is the Lunatic A.G. … She is working closely with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ, in order to harm his Political Opponent. Election Interference!
  • 12/27/23: They illegally spied on my campaign…and they come after me for Election Interference. Only in America!
  • 12/26/23: Biden’s Flunky, Deranged Jack Smith, should go to HELL. He is helping his Corrupt and Incompetent President to destroy America through Weaponization and ELECTION INTERFERENCE!
  • 12/25/23: 2024 WILL GO DOWN AS THE YEAR OF GREAT AND FULLY COORDINATED ILLEGAL ELECTION INTERFERENCE BY CROOKED JOE BIDEN, THE WORST AND MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES…MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
  • 12/25/23: It’s all about Election Interference, and Biden was pushing Garland and Monaco to act, AND FAST.
  • 12/24/23: DERANGED JACK SMITH, ARE COMING AFTER ME, AT LEVELS OF PERSECUTION NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN OUR COUNTRY??? IT’S CALLED ELECTION INTERFERENCE. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

If criticism of Trump is election interference, then the same should hold true for Biden. Therefore, Trump’s infantile nickname, “Crooked Joe,” is election interference. So is calling him the “WORST AND MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.” So are the efforts to impeach him by Republicans in the House of Representatives. So are the attacks on his son, Hunter, and other family members. So are the lies that the economy isn’t strong and getting stronger. And so is nearly everything that Fox News says about Biden.

Finally, the most obvious acts of actual election interference were the insurrection that Trump incited on January 6, 2021, and his attempts to threaten Republican state officials into overturning the election results. But those are the very things that Trump and his lawyer want to suppress and/or blatantly misrepresent. Fortunately, Trump doesn’t control the media, much as he would like to. And as long the American people turn out on election day in November, he won’t get another chance to realize his aspirations of dictatorship. It’s called “Election Interaction!”

Crybaby Trump Has a New Year’s Eve Breakdown Over Former Staffers Telling the Truth About Him

Poor Donald Trump isn’t having a very happy New Year. Instead, he is spending it posting odious outbursts on his failing social media scam, Truth Social. By noon he had posted 41 comments that put his psychoses prominently on display. And that was a holiday abbreviated crop of his crackpot commentary.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

Despite his hatred of the media that he calls “the enemy of the people,” Trump watches it almost constantly, anchoring himself to his sofa with a Diet Coke, a bucket of KFC, and his remote control. He pays particular attention to any program wherein his name is mentioned. And he takes no days off to let his rancor rest for a while. He’s a 24/7 malice machine. Not even Christmas could keep Trump from delivering one of his animus-fueled rants…

SEE THIS: Crybaby Trump is Whining (Again) About Having a Blue Xmas – Poor Thing

What triggered Trump on this New Year’s Eve was an interview that aired on ABC’s “This Week” that featured three of his former White House staffers (video below). Like many of the people who know Trump best, they have come to recognize just how dangerous he is, and how destructive to American democracy another Trump term would be. As ABC News reported

“Three women who served in former President Donald Trump’s White House are now warning against a possible second Trump term, with one of them saying it could mean ‘the end of American democracy as we know it.’

“For the first time, former White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin, former White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews, and former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson sat down together with ABC News ‘This Week’ co-anchor Jonathan Karl to discuss their roles in speaking out against Trump in the wake of Jan. 6.

“‘Fundamentally, a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly,’ Griffin, now a co-host of ABC’s ‘The View,’ told Karl, accusing the former president of having gone to ‘historic and unconstitutional lengths’ in attempting to ‘steal a democratic election’ and to stay in power.”

It was Griffin who attracted the brunt of Trump’s anger. Of the 41 posts on Truth Social, 11 were about Griffin. Mostly they were complimentary quotes from when she was still working for him. Trump seems to think that people don’t change their minds after seeing their boss incite an insurrection, and watch with glee as his cult followers smash doors and windows to break into the Capitol, assault police officers and members of Congress, and attempt to prevent the certification of a democratic election.

Griffin’s view that another Trump term could mean “the end of American democracy” was shared by her colleagues. They all spoke about how dangerous Trump is, and his promises of “retribution” should he reoccupy the White House. They acknowledged knowing other former staffers and members of Congress who feel the same way they do, but who aren’t speaking out due to fear of Trump’s threats against them personally and professionally.

SEE ALSO: Trump Cloddishly Dodges Hannity’s Softball Questions About Whether He Would Be a Dictator

They have seen what Trump’s rabid disciples are capable of. In addition to the storming of the Capitol, many of Trump’s critics have had to hire private security to protect them from his fanatic supporters. Which makes the courage of these three women all the more commendable. All of them have received death threats and other obscene harassment. And it isn’t coincidental that Trump’s attacks are directed at women.

The new year is likely to see more of the same sort of bullying and intimidation by Trump and his minions. In fact, it is likely to become even more intense as his legal tribulations continue to unfold. He makes the very same sort of rhetorical assaults on the prosecutors, witnesses, and judges in his cases. Which may – and should – land him jail for contempt of court.

Given the abundance of evidence against him, Trump is certain to be convicted of at least some of the 91 felony charges that he is currently facing. And the prospect of that is gnawing at him day and night. That will undoubtedly produce ever more manic outbursts. Consequently, the sooner Trump is held accountable for his crimes, the better off the nation – and the world – will be. And the sooner that we all can have a truly HAPPY NEW YEAR!

PHEW! Trump Says He Has Figured Out Why Biden is ‘Allowing’ Millions of Migrants Into America

The most easily predictable political tactic of the Republican Party and its rightist propaganda outlets is the traditional fear mongering and demonization of alleged “caravans” of migrants and refugees just prior to any election. It’s a problem that they mostly ignore until it’s time to frighten their flock with flagrant falsehoods of foreign invasions.

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

Fox News has been the most vocal disseminator of these nightmarish scenarios wherein hordes of scary brown folks are said to be marching into America bent on taking over the country. It’s a concept that was frequently pushed by former Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson.

SEE THIS: White Replacement Theory Huckster Tucker Carlson Now Says He’s ‘Not Sure Exactly What It Is’

Not to be outdone, Donald Trump has made the same allegations about immigrants plotting to wrest control of America from its rightful white superiors. Recently Trump has resorted to rhetoric that he snatched from Hitler, referring to migrants as “vermin” who are “poisoning the blood” of the nation.

SEE ALSO: Fox News Excuses Trump Quoting Hitler to Bash Immigrants Because Melania is an Immigrant

On Saturday morning Trump unleashed a flurry of posts to his failing social media scam, Truth Social. In about an hour he dropped 37 comments, mostly exalting himself or maligning his perceived enemies. Among these posts was one that addressed the immigration issue in a way that only a virulent racist like Trump can…

“It’s becoming more and more obvious to me why the ‘Crazed’ Democrats are allowing millions and millions of totally unvetted migrants into our once great Country. IT’S SO THEY CAN VOTE, VOTE, VOTE. They are signing them up at a rapid pace, without even knowing who the hell they are. It all makes sense now. Republicans better wake up and do something, before it is too late. Are you listening Mitch McConnell?”

Let’s set aside the infantile insults about “Crazed Democrats,” and obvious lies about “millions of totally unvetted migrants,” and focus on Trump’s ridiculous assertion that the reason Biden and Democrats are “allowing” migrants in is “SO THEY CAN VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.” Anyone with even a minimal grasp on reality (which leaves out the entirety of the MAGA Cult) knows that undocumented immigrants cannot, and do not, vote. Even documented immigrants can’t vote until after they have been legal residents for years and become naturalized.

Trump claims that Democrats are implementing a devious plan to alter the electorate by recruiting undocumented immigrants and are “signing them up at a rapid pace.” His evidence of that remains firmly clogged in his atrophied cranium, along with his evidence that the 2020 election that he decisively lost to Biden was “rigged and stollen.”

For the record, migrant apprehensions and expulsions at the southern border are at record highs. Which means that the Biden administration is doing a better job of policing the border than Trump did. And he’s doing it more humanely, without having to incarcerate people in cages or rip children away from their parents.

Another post by Trump about voting mentioned a study that found that “Votes Increased by Up to 8pts in States with Universal Mail-In Voting.” It linked to a right-wing website that surely misinterpreted whatever it was “reporting.” But it’s curious that Trump would promote it considering that he has long insisted that all mail-in voting is rampant with fraud.

Finally, Trump threatens his fellow Republicans, warning that they “better wake up and do something.” You’ll notice that he doesn’t say what they should do. Perhaps he thinks they should start illegally registering immigrants to vote. He’s made it clear that he has no aversion to committing crimes.

One thing we can be certain of is that he is not proposing that they do something legislatively. The GOP has opposed and obstructed every effort to pass a bipartisan immigration reform bill for years. That’s because they want the problem to exploit politically, more than they want a solution. They know that if the problem were solved they would have nothing else to talk about, except maybe Hunter Biden’s laptop.

UPDATE: Trump doubled down on his immigration idiocy with another post wherein he wishes “an early New Year’s salutation to Crooked Joe Biden and his group of Radical Left Misfits & Thugs [who] are now scrambling to sign up as many of those millions of people they are illegally allowing into sour [sic] Country, in order that they will be ready to VOTE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024.” Is he really stupid enough to believe that illegal immigrants will be voting next year? Or is he just confidant that his dumbass cult followers will believe it? The obvious answer to both of those questions is “Yes!”.

Trump’s Craven Christmas Prayer for Presidential Immunity and an End to Yuletide Witch Hunts

It’s Christmas time, and Donald Trump is joining in on the festivities with caroling in the spirit of the season. Except he’s not getting the words exactly right. “Hark the heinous angel,” whines Trump petulantly about losing an election three years ago and being held accountable for inciting an insurrection and trying to undermine democracy.

Donald Trump Christmas

As is his tradition for the holidays, Trump is filled with anger and animosity toward everyone who he feels has failed to be sufficiently worshipful toward him. The wannabe messiah who pretends to have liberated Americans to say “Merry Christmas,” has a rather bizarre impression of what that means. Meanwhile, President Biden and his family gather together to celebrate the joy that this season brings, despite Fox News mocking them for it…

SEE THIS: Fox News Exposes Biden’s ‘Freak-O-Rama’ Plot to Swap Christmas Cheer with Marxist Hate

On the day before Christmas, Trump took to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, to spread the hatred in his heart. Rather than thinking about family or gifts or world peace, Trump was consumed by the fear of his mounting legal tribulations. He wrote that…

“I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable. Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to IMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, I DID NOTHING WRONG. Stop the Witch Hunt NOW!”

How inspiring! It’s difficult to tell exactly what Trump was yammering about. But a little research reveals that he was upset with recent developments with regard to his indictments for election interference. His attorneys filed a motion the day before asking that the charges be dismissed. As reported by CNN

“Donald Trump urged a federal appeals court to throw out the federal election subversion criminal case in Washington, DC, again arguing in a filing late Saturday that he is protected under presidential immunity.” […]

“The filing reiterates what the former president’s lawyers have repeatedly asserted – that Trump was working in his official capacity as president to ‘ensure election integrity’ when he allegedly undermined the 2020 election results and therefore has immunity.”

Trump’s legal arguments have all been rejected in prior court proceedings. But that doesn’t stop him from repeating them again, hoping for a different outcome. He also isn’t deterred by the sheer absurdity of his claims. How can he assert that he wasn’t campaigning, and that the election was over, when everything he was trying to do was aimed at overturning the certified election results?

What’s more, Trump’s claims of “presidential immunity” are so preposterously broad that they would indemnify a president from any crime, including murder. Does he really want to set that legal precedent while Joe Biden is still in the White House? Not that Biden would ever do anything like that, but in Trump’s mind, and the minds of his glassy-eyed cult followers, it’s more grist for their crackpot conspiracy theory mills.

Trump’s post also regurgitates his frequent claim to have “voluminous and irrefutable” proof of election fraud. It remains a mystery as to why he has declined to present any of it after more than three years and 60+ court cases. Equally mysterious is Trump’s argument that prosecuting him is unconstitutional. His filing makes the ludicrous assertion that…

“Before any single prosecutor can ask a court to sit in judgment of the President’s conduct, Congress must have approved of it by impeaching and convicting the President. That did not happen here, and so President Trump has absolute immunity. [and that Trump’s indictment] threatens to launch cycles of recrimination and politically motivated prosecution that will plague our Nation for many decades to come.'”

Where Trump gets the idea that Congress must impeach and convict a president prior to any prosecution is anyone’s guess. It’s certainly not anywhere in the Constitution. Nor is his nonsensical notion of immunity. However, he is reminding everyone that he was impeached twice and the second time he was convicted by a majority of the Senate – including seven Republicans – but short of the necessary two-thirds.

More troubling is that Trump is asserting that presidents are above the law and free to commit crimes at will with total impunity. Once again, is he comfortable with Biden having that power? Furthermore, the only party threatening “to launch cycles of recrimination and politically motivated prosecution,” is Trump. And he has done so explicitly.

SEE ALSO: Trump Literally Pledges to Stage ‘RIGGED’ Trials to Punish Democrats for Upholding the Law

This is Trump’s Christmas message to his flock. And as with everything else, it is all about Trump. In the midst of the season of giving, Trump can think only of himself. There are no well wishes of joy and peace, and no photos with loving family and excited grandchildren. There is nothing that reflects the harmony and hopefulness of the holidays. In Trump’s demented mind there is only hatred and vengeance. So Merry Christmas to MAGA, and all a good fight?

Traitor Trump Posts Video of Putin Supporting Him and Attacking the ‘Rottenness’ of U.S. Politics

For most of his life Donald Trump has made it a practice of bragging about his relationships with notable people. Whether it was celebrities or athletes or politicians, Trump latched unto anyone who he thought could advance his status in society. It was mostly a futile and pathetic effort that only emphasized his own desperation and impotence.

Nevertheless, Trump believed that such associations made him more popular and he pursued them relentlessly. It’s why he rebranded his failing reality TV game show “The Apprentice,” as “Celebrity Apprentice.” It’s why he couldn’t resist dining with the repugnant anti-Semite Kanye West. And it’s why he isn’t shy about expressing his admiration for brutal tyrants like Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping, and even Adolf Hitler.

Among the dictators who Trump idolizes is, of course, his BFF, Vladimir Putin. Trump is still grateful for Putin’s help getting him elected in 2016. He took Putin’s word over that of U.S. intelligence as to whether Russia interfered in that election. And he has never had a derogatory thing to say about the Russian despot. To the contrary, he praises him as “strong” and “brilliant.”

On Sunday Trump went further and posted a video to his failing social media scam, Truth Social, wherein Putin had some praise of his own for his flunky, Donald Trump. The praise comes in the form of criticism of President Biden. Trump seems to think that Putin taking shots at Biden helps him, even though it’s coming from an avowed enemy of America. In the clip Putin brought up the legal tribulations of Trump and offered his opinion about what he regarded as political persecution…

“As for Trump’s prosecution, what is going on in present circumstances is very good for us. Because it shows rottenness in the U.S. political system that can’t claim to teach others democracy. What happens to Trump is politically motivated prosecution of a political rival.”

It is jarring to hear Putin, who regularly has his rivals incarcerated or murdered, complaining about Trump being the victim of a “politically motivated prosecution.” It’s also 100% false. Putin is agreeing with Trump’s lies that the prosecutions by special counsel, Jack Smith, and state attorneys general are biased. He has no more proof of that than Trump or his Republican confederates do. But as far as Trump is concerned, it’s a vote of confidence from someone he respects and, in many ways, answers to. Although it should be troubling to the American people that Trump is leaning on Putin’s legal analysis for support.

It’s also important to remember that the 91 felony counts pending against Trump were issued by an independent Grand Jury comprised of citizen jurors, not a political agency. But Putin’s remarks conveniently include criticism of the U.S. political system that both he Trump are obsessed with denigrating. They both benefit by tearing down the American system and its values.

By posting this video, Trump is promoting and agreeing with Putin’s attack on America’s administration of law. That is a profoundly un-American position for a former – and prospective future – president of the United States to take. It exposes his disloyalty to the nation and his allegiance to one of our most determined and hostile foes. That alone should disqualify Trump from holding any office of influence in the United States.

Unfortunately, if Trump’s cult followers, and the right-wing press, don’t see any problem with Trump quoting Hitler, they aren’t going to object to his embrace of Putin either. They are fellow travelers on a path to authoritarian fascism, and aren’t going to let a little thing like Democracy or the Constitution get in their way. So it’s up to the rest of us exercise our democratic rights to vote them out of every office in order to preserve our principles and freedom.

Upcoming Republican Primary Debates May Have Only Two Candidates – But Still No Cowardly Trump

The race for the Republican Party’s nomination for President in 2024 has been a laughably lame affair that appears to be modeled after a third rate reality TV show. It’s “Apprentice – White House” without the boorish board room finale where the playacting potentate pretends to fire one of the contemptible contestants.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

From the start of election season the Republican National Committee (RNC) assumed dictatorial control of the production of these debates with a series of decrees that sought to establish their supreme authority over the process and the candidates. For instance, they prohibited all candidates from participating in any debate not sanctioned by the RNC. They also demanded that all candidates sign a pledge to support whoever the eventual GOP nominee was. As if Trump would keep such a promise.

Apparently the RNC is softening their stance. They are now saying that they will waive their demands to boycott non-RNC sponsored debates. Perhaps that’s because the debates they have produced so far have been fiascos that featured infantile tantrums while avoiding any matter of interest to voters. They have also resulted in sequentially lower ratings for each broadcast. Consequently, CNN has just announced that they will sponsor two debates prior to the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.

CNN’s announcement said that “The events will provide Republican voters an opportunity to hear the governing philosophies of the leading candidates.” But that seems like a lofty goal that they are unlikely to achieve. After all, the previous debates were hardly forums for learning about the candidates “governing philosophies.” And that isn’t likely to improve considering the conditions they have set for participation…

“To qualify for participation in the Iowa debate, candidates must receive at least 10% in three separate national and/or [Iowa/New Hampshire] state polls.”

By that criteria, the only candidates, other than Donald Trump, who currently qualify for the Iowa debate are Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley. And the only non-Trump candidates who currently qualify for the New Hampshire debate are Nikki Haley and Chris Christie. There is still time for others to meet the criteria prior to the debates, but there are no guarantees that they will succeed.

Should the debates wind up being the head-to-head matchups noted above, they might actually be more interesting. And the absence of the obnoxious blowhard,” Vivek Ramaswamy, would be a welcome relief.

For his part, Trump has declined to participate in any of the four debates already held. And given his increasingly severe psychological slippage, that’s probably a wise decision on the part of his handlers. These days Trump spends most of his time posting either hostile attacks on his perceived enemies, or cultish adoration of himself on his failing Truth Social scam. And his conspicuous cowardice, along with his mental maladies, keep him from sharing the debate stage with his primary challengers, which would only embarrass him and his party further.

So even as the roster of Republicans is reduced with each week that goes by, Trump can be expected to cower in his Mar-a-Lago bunker launching spitballs at his foes, who will deftly avoid any criticism of Dear Leader. And the RNC will continue to prop him up as their inevitable nominee, despite his unmistakable cognitive decline and authoritarian aspirations. This is the state of the Trump Era Republican Party.

Lara Trump Flips Charges – that Donald Trump is Running for President to Avoid Prison – to Biden

It has become increasingly clear that the primary campaign strategy of Donald Trump as he seeks to reoccupy the White House is a variation on the elementary school debate response, “I know you are, but what am I?” It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the Trump camp would revert to such a childish tactic considering that it aligns so well with the stunted emotional development of Trump and his MAGA cult followers.

Joe Biden, Donald Trump

By falsely accusing President Biden of crimes that Trump himself has actually been committing, the Trump “brain trust” thinks they can flip the script and redirect valid criticisms of Trump to his opponent. Either that or just muddy the waters so that the criticism of Trump isn’t taken seriously. It’s projection on a grand scale that only affirms the maliciousness and dishonesty of Trump. He recently tried to invoke the same ploy to deflect accurate descriptions of Trump as an aspiring dictator…

SEE THIS: Trump Cloddishly Dodges Hannity’s Softball Questions About Whether He Would Be a Dictator

On Thursday morning Lara Trump was the messenger of this maneuver on Newsmax, the network that currently employs her as contributor and fill-in host. She was asked about recent remarks by Biden, who when asked about the potential of his facing a rematch with Trump said that “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running.” In response to a follow up question about whether any other Democrats could beat Trump, Biden added, “I’m not the only one, But I will defeat him.”

That led daughter-in-law Lara to contrive a crackpot theory that Biden is only running to avoid future investigations conducted by a weaponized Trump Justice Department. It’s a theory that she stole from Democratic legal experts who have plausibly surmised that it is Trump who is hoping to avoid prison by winning a second term. Lara said that…

“Very interesting to hear Joe Biden say that I guess the only reason he’s decided to run is because of Donald Trump. Well, is that because he thinks that Donald Trump might investigate his family even further? You know, you look at this situation with Hunter Biden. I think a lot of people might, might draw some correlation there and say, well, maybe the only reason that Joe Biden is trying to hang on to power is because his family depends on him trying to continue the cover up that we know has happened for the Biden crime family. It’s very interesting. This is nothing new. This is part of of the politics that we see here in the United States of America. But people know very well that Donald Trump is not a dictator, of course.”

First of all, Biden never said that the “only” reason he’s running is avoid being investigated by Trump. He merely said that he wasn’t “sure” if would run. He has long held the position that he is best suited to defeat Trump, and that if Trump were not running, he could sit it out.

More to the point, Lara’s contention that Biden is afraid of any legal scrutiny is wholly manufactured in her head. Unlike Trump, Biden has never tried to evade any legal inquiries or subpoenas. Plus, there are no pending indictments or charges that he would need to worry about. Nor have Republicans been able to come up with any shred of evidence of any wrongdoing on Biden’s part, despite years of trying. Trump, on the other hand, is facing 91 felony counts in four indictments. So it’s Trump, not Biden, who has some realistic fears of future prosecution and incarceration.

What’s more, Lara’s phony projection is a de facto admission that her father-in-law poses a real threat to Biden. She is conceding the possibility that Trump would abuse his power as president to persecute Biden and his other political enemies.

It’s also notable that Lara closed these comments by declaring that “Donald Trump is not a dictator.” You know you’re not winning an argument If you have to conclude it with a public denial like that. Even so, her denial is contrary to the rhetoric that Trump has been spewing. His hostile references to “retribution,” locking up his critics, building concentration camps, and his adoration of foreign tyrants, are proof, in his own words, of his nefarious intentions.
