Tucker Carlson’s QAnon Creed Comes Out as He Calls Democrats a ‘Child Sacrifice Cult’

The continuing outpouring of abominations expressed by Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, is reaching ever more noxious depths. That might seem impossible for someone who has already so despicably demonstrated his overt racism, misogyny, and fondness for fascism and fascists. But if you didn’t think Carlson could do it, you don’t know Tucker.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, QAnon

On Monday’s episode of his nightly hate mongering sermonette, Carlson unleashed an outraged rant (video below) over Democrats angered by the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade. He almost immediately contradicts himself to assert that Democrats were actually thrilled by the decision because, in Carlson’s warped mind, it provided them with a political issue.

Carlson claimed that Democrats have no other issue to run on in the midterm election. He must have missed the passage of the popular American Rescue Act, the Infrastructure bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, and legislation that addressed gun control, gas price gouging, access to healthcare, climate change, voting rights, and more.

RELATED: For Those Wondering What Biden and Democrats in Congress Have Been Doing the Past 16 Months…

Carlson’s tunnel-blind view that Democrats were fixated on abortion because they had no other issue to run on was patently absurd. Nevertheless, he hammered on it incessantly. And then he got to what he thought was a profound point. He accused Democrats of hypocrisy saying that…

“…there was a problem with the messaging. So COVID had just ended. And people not being entirely stupid still remembered that this very same Democratic Party, the same people had forced the entire population to wear paper masks like children, and then to take the shot as a condition of going outside. So women have the right to control their own bodies? Hmm, they used to tell us that.”

Carlson went on to describe the COVID vaccine as “experimental” and to mock the the slogan “My body, my choice.” However, his attempt to malign Democrats as hypocrites was logically perverse and it swung back to smack him right in his smug face.

There is no rational equivalency between the government’s interest in abortion rights and COVID mitigation. Women who want to preserve their right to decide whether or not to carry a fetus to term will not infect other women around her at the grocery store or the post office. A deadly virus, though, does spread in exactly that way.

So there is no governmental interest in mandating abortion decisions which are private and personal. But there is a government interest in preventing the spread of deadly viruses that can – and tragically have – killed more than a million Americans. Many due directly to Fox News in general, and specifically to Carlson’s reckless and callous campaign of deliberate disinformation.

RELATED: Tucker Carlson of Fox News Says ‘Vaccines Don’t Work and They’re Not Telling You’

So Carlson’s argument fails on every level. He is intellectually incapable of comprehending that women who have had abortions won’t cause other pregnant women standing behind them in line at the dry cleaner to spontaneously abort. But someone with COVID could transmit the virus to anyone within proximity to them. And in his ignorance, Carlson concluded his idiotic harangue with an insane, QAnon inspired delusion…

“Abortion politics is a total fixation of Democratic donors. It’s the main thing they care about. Why is that, by the way? It’s a religion. It’s a child sacrifice cult.”

That’s right. Carlson has been fully indoctrinated into the QAnon cult that believes that Democrats feast on the blood of babies. And this nauseating perspective is permitted to be aired on Fox News, a network that is seething with heinous allegations and crackpot QAnon conspiracy theories that have a high potential of leading to violence. And once more, after their role in exacerbating a deadly pandemic, Fox News will have blood on their hands.

Sean Hannity is Gifting Millions of Dollars of Free Air Time to Republican Candidates

The United States is about two weeks away from one of the most consequential elections in decades. Many of the races are tightening up as Democrats and Republicans make their closing arguments for support. And casting its dark shadow over the whole political season is Donald Trump and his extremist MAGA movement aimed at extinguishing America’s experiment in government of, by, and for the people.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News Sean Hannity

The majority control of both houses of Congress is at stake, with Republicans literally promising to sabotage the U.S. and world economies if Democrats don’t succumb to GOP demands. Those demands include gutting Social Security and Medicare, criminalizing abortion, befouling the environment, giving more tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy, and installing anti-democratic election deniers in positions where they can dispense with democracy entirely.

RELATED: The GOP’s Not-So-Secret Plot to Sabotage the Economy if They Gain Control of Congress

Fox News is playing its customary role in the crippling of self-government. While Democrats have to raise campaign funds in order to pay for political advertising, Republicans are benefitting from the largesse of Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch’s ultra-rightist Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox News.

The network as a whole is promoting Republicans candidates for local and state offices throughout the country. But no one is doing it with the unabashed political biases of Sean Hannity. His program has already hosted hour-long GOP campaign broadcasts with Mehmet Oz and Herschel Walker. He has scheduled another with Kari Lake and Blake Masters. And now he is teasing one with Marco Rubio…

Rubio: If you saw that debate, you realize pretty quickly that the media, even the local media, is not going to be helping me with my message. I’m going to have to pay for it.
Hannity: Well, we’ll give a little hint. I will be seeing you in person next week. That’s all I can say. Not allowed to say any more than that.

First of all, what gave Rubio the impression that the media was supposed to be “helping me with my message”? And how can he say with a straight face that he is being forced to pay for disseminating his message, while he is excreting it for free to Hannity’s glassy-eyed audience?

[UPDATE 10/28/2022: Hannity made good on his promise to see Rubio in person by hosting another hour long free campaign ad featuring both Rubio and Ron DeSantis]

Hannity knows that his political favoritism is unethical and utterly inappropriate for any journalist. Fortunately for Hannity, he publicly declared a few years ago (in a deleted tweet that is preserved here) that “I’m not a journalist jackass.” Which raises the question that if he isn’t a “journalist jackass,” then what kind of jackass is he?

The constant stream of Republican propaganda that emanates from Fox News isn’t conventional news reporting. It is actually in-kind contributions by Fox News to the GOP that amounts to millions of dollars of free advertising. The Washington Post has calculated the value of that gift to the GOP…

“This is extremely valuable airtime. Thirty-second spots on Hannity’s show ran more than $76,000 at the higher “issue rate” in the third quarter, according to the Columbus, Ohio-based firm Medium Buying. Candidate rates are lower, often substantially, particularly when you buy more time. If we assume that each 30 seconds costs as little as $50,000 — well beneath what Medium Buying has been cited for candidate spots in the past — the airtime provided by Hannity would have run the candidates north of $2.4 million.”

Other beneficiaries of Hannity’s donations include Sen. Ron Johnson, running for reelection, Senate candidates J.D. Vance and Rep. Ted Budd, and gubernatorial candidate, Tudor Dixon, to name just a few. The Post reports that “In total, Hannity’s spent more than 97 minutes of his last 10 hours of airtime interviewing 18 [GOP] candidates.” And these segments are better than brief campaign ads because they are longer, they are loaded with positive commentary by both the candidate and the host, they insert negative remarks about the Democratic opponents, and there is no opportunity for any rebuttal, even if it was paid for.

For these reasons, Fox News should be regarded as a political action committee and be forced to comply with the laws regulating them. And the candidates should be required to report the value of the donations and to provide disclaimers that reveal that they approved of the ads and who the principle donors are.

But don’t hold your breath waiting for either Fox or these Republicans to behave ethically. They never have before, so why would they start now? Especially when they have Donald Trump praising them for their blatant dishonesty and recommending them for prestigious awards that they never earned?

Blame America First: Trump Says if Putin Goes Nuclear in Ukraine ‘It’s Because of the U.S.’

One of the most predictable and ironic traits of Donald Trump and his cult followers is that they pretend to be passionately patriotic, while actually acting adversely to American interests and finding fault with everything the nation does if it isn’t in direct alignment with the whims of Trump.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Vladimir Putin

Trump himself demonstrated this crackpot quirk during an interview with Fox News Trump-fluffer, Brian Kilmeade. The topic was the Russian war against Ukraine. The entire Western alliance of free nations is united in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s aggression. So is President Biden and the Democratic Party. So naturally, Trump has taken a knee-jerk opposition to the pro-Ukraine stance and is, as usual, backing his hero, Vladimir Putin.

RELATED: Trump’s ‘Solution’ to the War in Ukraine is to Appease Russia and Quash Any Criticism of Putin

The conversation Trump had with his media minion Kilmeade revealed once again that Trump’s sympathies lie with America’s enemies. He has proven, as he invariably does, his devotion to the “America First” doctrine that he rants about incessantly. To clarify, that’s the “Blame America First” doctrine. He began by exposing his pitiful ignorance of world affairs…

Trump: Ukraine is a much smaller military, you have to remember. And now they’re using tactics and don’t forget those tactics are going to get a lot worse. And importantly – I call it the “N” word – the nuclear word. People get a little angry when I say that. Don’t get angry. It’s the biggest threat in the world today.
Kilmeade: Do you think he’d uses them. There’s a story that Putin wanted to use them and his inner circle stopped it. Do you think Putin would use nuclear weapons?
Trump: Well, I don’t think he’ll stand for losing. So in some form, maybe limited form – but to think we’re even having this conversation. You know, you never mention the “N” word. Either one. You never mention the “N” word or the “N” word. The nuclear “N” word never was supposed to be mentioned. Now I’m reading every day – as an example, today I’m reading somewhere that there’s at least a 40% chance that he’ll use nuclear weapons. How the hell did this happen? And it’s because of the United States.

First of all, Trump is apparently unaware that Ukraine’s much smaller military is winning this war against Russia. What’s worse is that he is almost sanctioning the prospect of Russia using nuclear weapons. Trump’s infantile speech patterns have him repeatedly referring to the “N” word, as if it were naughty. And he thinks that people have a problem with discussions about nuclear weapons, that he thinks should never be mentioned.

Trump also told Kilmeade about something that “I’m reading somewhere,” that said “there’s at least a 40% chance that [Putin will] use nuclear weapons.” Notice that he didn’t say where he allegedly read that. Suffice to say that it was either in the QAnon Daily News, or on a cocktail napkin handed to him by his chief foreign affairs advisors, Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon.

The most repulsive part of Trump’s comments, however, were his closing remarks where he said that the threat of Russia escalating the war into a nuclear conflict was “because of the United States.” Because blaming America is always Trump’s first inclination. And he has worshipfully demonstrated for the past six years that he would never attribute anything negative to his Moscow messiah.

Trump Threatens to Sue Pulitzers Over ‘Russia Hoax’ and for Not Giving Awards to Sean Hannity

On Saturday Donald Trump and His Traveling Salvation Show made another stop to put on yet another performance of his tediously repetitive Moldy Oldies Extravaganza. This time he visited Robstown, Texas, to dispense his familiar fallacies about non-existent election fraud (aka the “Big Lie”), his supremacy over every other mortal, complaints about Democrats plotting to destroy America, and myriad whining about what a pathetic victim he is.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump

Featured in this outing, as always, was Trump’s unending outrage over having been caught colluding with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. For some reason Trump can’t address the subject without repeating the name of his foreign partner three times (“Russia, Russia, Russia”), as if he were attempting to summon his demon master, Vladimir Putin, in the manner popularized by Beetlejuice.

In the midst of his surly sermonizing, Trump took a short detour to whine about the New York Times and the Washington Post receiving Pulitzer Prizes for their reporting on Trump’s unsavory associations with Russia (video below). This isn’t the first time he’s focused his fixation on this subject. In fact, he has been ranting about it for more than a year.

SEE (October 3, 2021): Trump Whines to Pulitzer Board that Awards for Russian Collusion Stories Should Be Rescinded

During his harangue, Trump announced that he would be filing a lawsuit against the Pulitzer board within the next two weeks. Which is precisely the same amount of time that he promises everything from healthcare plans to border walls to infrastructure bills. he yammered that…

“They gave out the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the Russia hoax. For reporting on Russia, Russia, Russia. So you have reporters from the Washington Post and the New York times get Pulitzer Prizes, and they reported the exact wrong thing. So within the next two weeks, we’re suing the Pulitzer organization to have those prizes taken back. We’ll be doing that over the next two weeks. I think it’s a very good lawsuit, but we’ll see.”

Apparently dotard Trump has forgotten his previous threats to sue the Pulitzers over this. Including this threat just three months ago. He has also forgotten – or failed to understand – the response by the Pulitzer board, who detailed their exhaustive process for reviewing and validating their awards. The board explicitly addressed Trump’s complaint, then dismissed it because two separate reviews found that…

“…no passages or headlines, contentions or assertions in any of the winning submissions were discredited by facts that emerged subsequent to the conferral of the prizes.“

For the record, there is abundant evidence of the Trump campaign’s numerous unsavory connections to Russia. Much of it is catalogued in the book Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, by Michael Isikoff and David Corn.

What’s more, the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller found that Trump and his campaign “welcomed and encouraged” Russian interference, and that there was sufficient evidence to indict Trump. Even Putin admitted, with Trump standing next to him, that he wanted Trump to win and had helped him do so.

However, Trump added a new wrinkle to his whining this time. He was not only incensed that the Pulitzer board gave awards to the Times and the Post, he was also furious that his friends at Fox News weren’t honored instead:

“Think of it. They got the Pulitzer Prize for wrong reporting. But other people should have gotten the Pulitzer Prize because, frankly, they got it right for years. And they don’t do Pulitzer Prizes for guys like Sean Hannity, but they should, by a different name. And Tucker Carlson, and Jeanine Pirro, and Laura [Ingraham], and so many different people. But they don’t get anything.”

So Trump thinks that people like Hannity and Carlson and Ingraham should get awards (by a different name?) for their ass-kissing lies and propaganda. And he is determined to right this imaginary wrong by suing the Pulitzer board:

“Remember this… By allowing these people that got Russia, Russia, Russia wrong, they’re actually libeling me because they’re saying they got it right and it turned out to be a hoax. And everybody now has admitted that it was hoax. Even the Times, and even the Washington Post, they said it’s a hoax. So if it’s a hoax then let them give the Pulitzer Prizes back, or take them back. They shouldn’t be allowed to keep them.”

Reality check: Neither the Times nor the Post ever “admitted” that their reporting on Trump and Russia was a hoax. In fact, investigations by U.S. intelligence agencies, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and even the GOP-led Senate Intelligence Committee, found that Russia had an extensive program aimed at disseminating disinformation intended to benefit Trump and to harm Hillary Clinton. And the Trump campaign was well aware of Russia’s efforts, and encouraged and exploited them.

So we’ll see in two weeks if Trump finally gets around to carrying out this old threat to sue the Pulitzers. But if it’s anything like his past lawsuits, he’s just going to wind up humiliating himself even more.

HUH? Fox News and Trump AG Bill Barr Defend Durham Debacles as Successfully Exposing Russiagate

After more than three years and tens of millions of dollars, special counsel John Durham has finally flamed out, suffering another humiliating loss in court with the acquittal of Igor Danchenko. The investigation was from its outset a contrived political ploy aimed at absolving Donald Trump of his conspicuous guilt for colluding with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Click here to Tweet this article

William Barr, Donald Trump

Donald Trump and his Republican Party cult claimed for two years that Durham would finally prove that the investigations of Trump and his unsavory associations with Russia were a “hoax.” They insisted that Durham would secure convictions of everyone from Hillary Clinton to James Comey to Robert Mueller, and more.

RELATED: Trump Whines that the Media Didn’t Fall for the Durham Nothingburger About Clinton ‘Spying’

Now that Durham has failed to secure a single conviction in court, Trump and his panderers for Putin are attempting to spin the Durham probe as a Bizarro World success. They claim that Durham never really wanted to convict anyone, and that his real goal was to tarnish the reputation of the FBI and the courts as corrupt, “Deep State,” anti-Trump provocateurs. Trump’s former Attorney Genuflect, Bill Barr went on Fox News to declare victory saying that, although he was “disappointed”

“The real public interest here was served by exposing the full extent of the corruption that was involved in the ‘Russiagate, and the abuse by the FBI in that whole episode.”

That’s a peculiar perspective that contrasts entirely with reality. By acquitting Danchenko the jury was explicitly rejecting Durham’s arguments that the FBI engaged in any corruption or abuse. However, Barr was not alone in his delusional assessment. Trump weighed with a posting on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. He whined that it was…

“A very sad result for our Justice System, but so much has been exposed—far more than anyone thought possible.”

Trump’s post linked to an article on the Fox News website by notorious Trump-fluffing legal hack, Gregg Jarrett, who made the same bogus argument that Barr made. He said that the trial “was never really about Danchenko at all. [and that it was actually] a damning indictment of the FBI’s gross misconduct.” But neither Trump nor Jarrett provided a scintilla of support for their preposterous claims.

Joining these legal deceivers was another former Trump attorney, Joseph DiGenova. He told Newsmax that Durham had “decided he was going to embarrass the FBI,” and that “He wanted to dirty up the FBI.” If that’s true, than Durham should have his license to practice law revoked. That is a wholly unethical exploitation of the court. And Durham, who in his role as an attorney and special counsel is an officer of the court, is oath-bound to comply with legal protocol.

These arguments defending Durham’s failures seem to be uncannily similar. It’s almost as if they were coordinated. And there are more where they come from. Sen. Marsha Blackburn said that “the latest loss by Durham shows that the justice system is biased against MAGA and Hillary was behind the whole thing.” And Margot Cleveland, Senior Legal Correspondent for the Federalist wrote that “Russia Hoaxers, not Durham, Should be Embarrassed.”

But piling on synchronized narratives doesn’t mean that they make any more sense. A more rational assessment was made by constitutional law professor Lawrence Tribe of Harvard, who observed that Durham is just the latest casualty of associating with Trump:

“One more formerly reputable lawyer bites the dust on a mission for Trump, this one doubly doomed by its handling by Barr.”

Fox News Hack FREAKS OUT Over President Biden Eating Ice Cream at a Campaign Stop

There is nothing Fox News likes better than inventing pseudo-scandals to malign President Biden and other Democrats. That’s mainly because they can’t find any actual scandals to pin on Biden and company. As a result we are subjected to feigned outrage over obvious contrivances such as Hunter Biden’s laptop, or gay Legos, or armed IRS Agents hunting down middle-class families.

Jesse Watters, Fox News

On Monday evening’s episode of the Jesse Watters program on Fox News, the dumbest man on TV pontificated profusely on what may be the most heinous offence ever committed by an American president. Joe Biden actually had the audacity to take a few minutes out of his day, while campaigning on behalf of Democrats in Oregon, to visit a local ice cream parlor for a sweet treat. And who better than Jesse Watters to expose Biden’s ill manners?

RELATED: Another Fox News Sleazeball Has Been Caught in a Sex Scandal with a 25 Year Old Co-Worker

While on the campaign trail, reporters asked Biden to address the inflation that the U.S. – and every other country in the world – is enduring. Biden gave a sound and succinct reply – something that Donald Trump and Republicans are incapable of – then resumed enjoying his tasty dessert. And that heinous act of barbarism triggered a rather bizarre response from Watters:

Biden: Our economy is strong as hell – the internals of it. Inflation is worldwide. It’s worse off everywhere else than it is in the United States.
Watters: A man should never lick an ice cream cone in public. A man can only eat ice cream on vacation. I guess Biden’s always on vacation, so it makes sense. But if a man needs to eat ice cream in public, he should scoop it out of a bowl with a spoon.

“The President of the United States licking things, especially ice cream, is childish. It’s frivolous and it’s too casual a look for the country. Biden’s brain freeze will live in infamy. Just like Bush gave up golf after 9/11, Biden should give up ice cream after the recession. You’re not at a birthday party, Joe.

First of all, Biden is correct. The efforts by Republicans and Fox News to blame Biden for what is a worldwide economic problem is deliberately dishonest. They cannot, of course, rationally blame Biden for the inflation in France or Japan. But they persist in false accusations that something Biden did produced the inflation in the U.S. Although they can’t specify what he is supposed to have done. In reality, he’s done quite a lot that is beneficial to the majority of the country.

RELATED: For Those Wondering What Biden and Democrats in Congress Have Been Doing the Past 16 Months…

However, Watters didn’t linger on the question about the economy, which does have some significance to most Americans. Nope. He dived immediately into the reprehensible ice cream atrocity by Biden. And Watters labored mightily to nail what was so hideous about it. After all, everyone knows that “a man should never lick an ice cream cone in public.” And that “a man can only eat ice cream on vacation.” And even then he must “scoop it out of a bowl with a spoon.” Otherwise, he is being “childish,” “frivolous,” and “too casual.”

How can President Biden hope to relate to average Americans when he so brazenly breaches the behavioral standards that are core to the American character? What other political figure would ever do such a thing? And who can blame Fox News for featuring this depravity, which they have done before? Well, there is this…

Trump’s 14 Page Response to Being Subpoenaed By the January 6th Committee is Laughably Pathetic

As the January 6th Committee investigating the insurrection at the Capitol winds to a close, they took a step to complete the record of evidence by issuing a subpoena for the last, and most conspicuously guilty, witness that has yet to testify. That, of course, is Donald Trump, who incited the deadly riots and for three hours did nothing to stop them.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Angry

On Friday morning Trump posted his interminably drawn out fourteen page response (pdf) to the Committee’s subpoena in a long and utterly substanceless screed that was signed by him alone (i.e. no attorneys). It was essentially a ponderous elaboration on his knee-jerk hissy fit on Thursday.

RELATED: Trump Lashes Out Impotently After January 6th Committee Votes to Subpoena Him

The protracted version of Trump’s psychosis was predictably incoherent and devoid of any relevant facts. It just another obvious deflection from the subject of the hearings and as tedious rehashing of his baseless reasons to assume that voter fraud took place. The tirade began with Trump wallowing in his victimhood and lashing out at his perceived persecutors:

“The same group of Radical Left Democrats who utilized their Majority position in Congress to create the fiction of Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the $48 Million Mueller Report (which ended in No Collusion!), Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, the atrocious and illegal Spying on my Campaign, and so much more, are the people who created this Committee of highly partisan political Hacks and Thugs whose sole function is to destroy the lives of many hard-working American Patriots, whose records in life have been unblemished until this point of attempted ruination.”

It’s nice of Trump to itemize all of the illegal and unethical activities he has engaged in over the years. Never mind his perpetually hollow denials of any culpability. He went on to whine that…

“This memo is being written to express our anger, disappointment, and complaint that with all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on what many consider to be a Charade and Witch Hunt, and despite strong and powerful requests, you have not spent even a short moment on examining the massive Election Fraud that took place during the 2020 Presidential Election, and have targeted only those who were, as concerned American Citizens, protesting the Fraud itself. Those who committed the Fraud, thereby having created the Crime of the Century, go unblemished and untouched, but those who fought the Crime have suffered a fate that was unthinkable just a short time ago. We have a two-tier system of Justice in the United States that cannot be allowed to continue.”

Here Trump is appalled that the Committee is responsibly adhering to the topics that it was established to investigate. He is dismayed that they aren’t veering off into the fantasy world of imagined offenses against Trump. He is outraged that the Committee isn’t humoring him about election fraud that didn’t take place, and for which he and his minions have failed to provide evidence for nearly two years. And he is projecting his own fears unto his cult followers, attempting to make them believe that they are victims.

The ridiculous document goes on to complain that he got “millions more votes in 2020 than I did in 2016.” Someone needs to tell Trump that the objective in an election is to get more votes than your opponent, not more than yourself four years earlier. Similarly irrelevant is his observation that “almost the entire Republican Party feel that the Election was Rigged and Stolen.” That’s merely more evidence that the GOP is pitifully delusional and indoctrinated into the Cult of Trump.

Trump repeats his totally false assertion that he “recommended and authorized thousands of troops to be deployed to ensure that there was peace, safety, and security at the Capitol.” No, actually, he didn’t. But it’s interesting to note that this lie suggests he thought that the Capitol needed protection from his own supporters. PolitiFact’s detailed analysis documented that there is no record of Trump authorizing troops, no evidence that Pelosi denied such an authorization, and that she doesn’t have the authority to do so in the first place.

Trump also lied that the Committee hearings had “very poor television ratings.” To the contrary, the hearings from the very start broke viewing records. With over 18 million viewers, they had a larger audience that the Game two of the NBA Finals.

RELATED: January 6th Hearing Ratings are Burning Up Trump and His Right-Wing Media Liars

In closing, Trump said something that was actually true. He noted that “The people of this Country will not stand for unequal justice under the law.” Indeed, the majority of Americans want to see Trump indicted and prosecuted. And finally, nine of the fourteen pages of his response were devoted to an appendix that was entirely composed of flagrantly false allegations of election fraud – all of which were debunked many times, long ago – and nonsense such as references to Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The Committee’s chairman, Bennie Thompson, summed up the hearings saying that…

“[Trump] tried to take away the voice of the American people in choosing their president and replace the will of the voters with his will to remain in power. […] He is required to answer for his actions. He is required to answer to those police officers who put their lives and bodies on the line to defend our democracy. He is required to answer to those millions of Americans who’s votes he wanted to throw out as part of his scheme to remain in power.”

As for Trump, his lengthy reply failed to state whether he would comply with the subpoena. If the past is any indication, he will try to delay any testimony by challenging the subpoena in court. Failing that, he will try to run out the clock and hope that Republicans gain control of the House and disband the Committee. But even if he were to appear, he would almost certainly refuse to answer questions by pleading the 5th Amendment, as he did more than 400 times when deposed by the New York Attorney General.

According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, Trump told aides “that he’s not opposed to the idea of testifying before the committee, as long as it’s on his terms.” By which he specified that the testimony be aired live. That’s been done with many other witnesses, so the Committee would surely agree to it for Trump. And since it would likely result in Trump embarrassing and/or incriminating himself even further, all that would be missing is the popcorn.

Trump Lashes Out Impotently After January 6th Committee Votes to Subpoena Him

The January 6th Committee investigating the violent insurrection in Washington, D.C. that Donald Trump incited, held what is likely their last hearing before publishing their findings. Much of the hearing consisted of summations tying together the evidence that Trump knew about the violence taking place at the Capitol and not only approved of it, but deliberately inflamed it.

Donald Trump, Snowflakes

After doing nothing but watching the deadly riots on television at the White House for three hours, Trump eventually released a statement telling the rioters that he understood their anger and that he loved them. Further testimony found that he wanted to join them in their coup attempt, and that he knew that many of them came armed and prepared for battle.

The success of the bipartisan hearings in the the House drove Trump to attack them frequently, and even to threaten to sue them.

RELATED: After Goofy Lawsuit Against CNN, Trump Threatens More Suits, Including the January 6th Committee

The most noteworthy news coming out of this hearing was that the committee voted to subpoena Trump to testify. There have already been hundreds of witnesses, most of them Republicans and veterans of the Trump administration. And the case against Trump is regarded by legal experts as overwhelming and airtight.

The last piece of the probe’s puzzle would be Trump’s perspective. Not that it’s necessary at this point given the volume of testimony and documentary evidence already compiled. But if nothing else, it would give Trump an opportunity to make his own case. So naturally Trump blew up and posted an incoherent response on his fatally floundering social media scam, Truth social. Trump whined

“Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting? Because the Committee is a total “BUST” that has only served to further divide our Country which, by the way, is doing very badly – A laughing stock all over the World?”

Trump is exhibiting his notorious ignorance of legal matters in this comment. The principle targets of any investigation are always interviewed at the end so that their version of events can be compared to those of other witnesses. What’s more, Trump was actually invited to testify voluntarily, and told that he was welcome to come before the Committee at any time and at his convenience. He repeatedly declined and castigated the Committee with childish insults, including his pathetic nickname, the “Unselect” committee.

Trump is unlikely to comply with this subpoena without engaging in a drawn out and futile legal battle to quash it. That’s his modus operandi to pursue perpetual delays. To date his efforts to avoid subpoenas in other cases have all failed. So when he was ultimately forced to comply, as with the New York Attorney General, he showed up and pleaded the Fifth Amendment more than 400 hundred times.

Clearly Trump doesn’t believe that “the Committee is a total ‘BUST’.” If he did he would jump at the chance to appear with his allegedly irrefutable evidence of election fraud, and embarrass the Committee with his brilliantly constructed defense.

To the contrary, Cadet Bone Spurs is demonstrating again that he is a pitiful coward who is too scared to take a stand on his own behalf. Unlike his nemesis, Hillary Clinton, who testified before a Republican congressional committee for eleven hours, answering every question, and not complaining once about being persecuted, or calling her interrogators infantile names.

Trump’s comment closed with the accusation that the Committee is trying to “divide our Country” and has made it “A laughing stock all over the world.” As usual, he is projecting. Because that’s exactly what Trump himself has done. And now that he is being offered yet another chance to state his case, he will surely continue to refuse in favor of inducing more division and laughter at his own expense.

UPDATE: Trump posted a couple of additional similarly feeble comments. One asked “Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the ‘troops’ before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do.” Of course, there is no evidence that he ever made such a recommendation, and Pelosi doesn’t have jurisdiction over that anyway.

The other comment said that the “Committee knowingly failed to examine the massive voter fraud which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election.” However, there isn’t a shred of evidence of any voter fraud. And if Trump were really interested in presenting some, he could do it in front of millions of Americans watching him testify before the Committee, which he’s too scared to do because he knows he’s got nothing to say.

UPDATE II: Trump also posted that “I will be putting out my response to the Unselect Committee of political Hacks & Thugs tomorrow morning at 8:00. Thank you!” That should be fun.

Desperate and Dishonest Fox News Hack Says Fetterman ‘Is For Castrating Kindergartners’

With the majority control of Congress at stake, Democrats and Republicans are shaping their closing arguments for the midterm election. That means that Democrats are focusing their campaigns on critical issues like abortion, healthcare, the economy, and preserving democracy, while Republicans are doubling down on personal insults, fear mongering, and blatant lies.

Jesse Watters, Fox News

The GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) is playing its part in this melodrama. Their entire schedule is jampacked with ultra-partisan rhetoric in support of Republican candidates, and flagrantly false assaults on Democrats. The network is a non-stop dispensary of despicable diatribes that go way beyond traditional political banter, into the realm of purposeful and perverse cruelty as they aspire to foment fear.

RELATED: Trump’s Fear Mongering Lies About ‘Streets Drenched in Blood’ Reach New Depths of Depravity

High on the list of disinformation propagation is Jesse Watters, co-host of Fox’s “The Five.” On Tuesday’s episode Watters sought to prop up the failing GOP candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania, Dr. Mehmet Oz. Naturally, his spiel leaned more heavily on attacking Democrat John Fetterman than on praising Oz. That’s probably because even Fox News flacks can’t find much good to say about Oz, a phony from New Jersey who pitches fake medicine and kills dogs. Watters raged that…

“Oz was down nine points a month ago and now he’s cut the lead in half and is just down four. And if Dr. Oz doesn’t beat Fetterman he won’t be able to show his face around town, because Fetterman is pathetic. This is guy who mooched off his parents until he was fifty; dresses worse than a wrestling coach; can’t talk because he just had a stroke. And his policies are even worse than his appearance. He wants to ban oil and gas, release 2nd degree murderers from prison, and he is for castrating kindergartners. Plus, he’s a liar.

The first item of note in that oratorical mess is that Watters is boasting that Oz is still losing despite having spent millions of dollars on his campaign. It’s also notable that Watters is warning Oz not to “show his face around town” if he does lose. Which shouldn’t be a problem because he’ll most likely be back at his mansion in Jersey.

Watters then rattles off some personal insults about Fetterman’s appearance, along with some lies about his policies. This coming from a sleazeball who had an affair with a much younger Fox News underling, then left his wife and children to marry her. And he caps it off with the zinger that Fetterman “is for castrating kindergartners.”

You have to be pretty deep in the woods of desperation to invent bizarre and depraved put downs like that, that have no basis whatsoever in reality. But that’s where the Republican Party is today. The are taking their cues from Donald Trump, an emotionally stunted basket case who can’t communicate above the level of a slow five year old.

It must be awfully painful to Watters (and Trump and Fox News) that Oz is still losing to someone that they are maligning as cognitively challenged due to a stroke. Just as it was devastating to Trump et al when he lost to President Biden, whose mental health they similarly lied about. But for some reason they have no problem with abortion financier, Herschel Walker. In fact, they regard his suffering multiple concussions as an asset. It’s just too bad that these washouts won’t keep their promises to go away after they lose.

Alex Jones Joins Trump and Fox News in Exalting Putin for Becoming More … Christian?

It takes real chutzpah for Alex Jones to continue to present himself to the public after having been ordered to pay nearly $50 million to some of the families of the children murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre that he said never happened. He accused the families – even the children – of lying and faking the whole thing. Another trial is currently in progress on behalf of more victims’ families.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones

Undaunted by anything resembling decency, Jones went on Steve Bannon’s podcast to resume spinning his fear and hate mongering conspiracy theories. During this episode Jones aligned himself with Donald Trump’s twisted Republican Party and his Ministry of Disinformation, Fox News. Their embrace of the barbaric dictator, Vladimir Putin, is one of the most reprehensible political confederations since the Nazi-supporting “America First” contingent in the 1930s.

RELATED: Trump’s ‘Solution’ to the War in Ukraine is to Appease Russia and Quash Any Criticism of Putin

Jones was appalled that Democrats have a negative opinion of such a virtuous sweetheart like Putin. He couldn’t seem to grasp why anyone would dislike the man who is currently slaughtering hundreds of innocent Ukrainian civilians in an egomaniacal attempt to illegally annex portions of that country. Jones ranted…

“Do you leftists really want to destroy the world in a nuclear fire because you have a fetish for hating Russians and Putin because they’ve become a little bit more Christian? Again, they don’t hate Russia because they’re the former Soviet Union. The Left hates Russia because they’re becoming more like the American Midwest. They’re becoming more conservative. They’re against transgenderism and teaching five year olds about sex and all the rest of this. So that’s why Hollywood and the Rob Reiners of the world literally have a fetish for destroying Russia.”

There’s a lot of putrid crackpottery to unpack there. Let’s begin with Jones’ preposterous assertion that it’s leftists who are threatening nuclear war. That was Putin’s idea. Apparently Jones thinks that Democrats are at fault because they aren’t cowering under Putin’s threat, as Jones would prefer America to do.

Jones then lauds the piety of Putin. He regards Trump’s pal Vladimir as a saintly figure who exemplifies the American ideal of Christianity. Never mind that he just happens to be engaging in heinous war crimes by murdering men, women, and children, because Ukraine won’t surrender their sovereignty to his tyrannical imperialism.

Like Trump and Fox News, Jones Favors Putin over American patriots who believe in freedom and democracy. The right’s perverse interpretation of Christianity veers off more toward totalitarianism and religious oppression and cult worship.

Yet that’s the dominant viewpoint of faith among the right-wing in America today. They have utterly abandoned the principles of both Christianity and the Constitution. And they aren’t the least bit shy about expressing these depraved ideas, or foisting their deranged doctrine on everyone else.
