HUH? Trump Claims He Wanted to Go Back to the Capitol on January 6th to ‘Stop the Problem’

It has been three years since Donald Trump decisively lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden. But he he is still whining petulantly about it and making preposterous, unsupported claims that the election was “stollen” and “rigged.” His obsession with his humiliating defeat is clearly gnawing at his humongous, yet fragile, ego. And he doesn’t intend to let it go.

Donald Trump Insurrection

Trump has repeatedly promised to reveal the “massive” and “Irrefutable” evidence of voter fraud that he has stashed away somewhere, but for three years has refused to present to either the press or the courts. Either he is withholding it for the dramatic effect of a reality TV cliffhanger or, more likely, it doesn’t exist. (Spoiler: It’s the latter).

SEE THIS: YEAH, RIGHT! Trump Promises an ‘Irrefutable,’ ‘Completely Exonerating’ Report on Election Fraud

The farcical voter fraud fiction that Trump persists in peddling to his cult followers continues to grow in both deceit and decibels. The more dishonest his blather, the louder he bellows. New permutations keep arising from the trash heap of his warped imagination. And the latest is a doozy.

Trump has long justified the violent insurrection in Washington, D.C., on January 6th, 2021, as a reasonable response by citizens outraged by the tales of voter fraud that Trump and his media mouthpieces manufactured. That “Big Lie” was so egregious that Fox News was forced to settle a defamation lawsuit for nearly a billion dollars brought by Dominion Voting Systems. And the criminal indictment currently pending against Trump in Washington includes charges related to his incitement of the riot and his neglect in restoring the peace.

Now, a book by Jonathan Karl, Tired of Winning,” includes an interview wherein Trump offers a heretofore unheard account of what happened on January 6th. Apparently Trump believes – or wants others to believe – that he was a foiled hero. And Lordy… Karl has tapes. Trump was recorded saying that…

“If you look at the real size of that crowd, it was never reported correctly. There were – it’s the biggest crowd I’ve ever spoken in front of by far. By far. That went down to the Washington – That went back to the Washington Monument.

“I was going to [go to the Capitol] and then Secret Service said you can’t. And then by the time— I would have, and then when I get back, I saw – I wanted to go back. I was thinking about going back during the problem to stop the problem. Doing it myself. Secret Service didn’t like that idea too much.

“And I could have done that, and you know what? I would have been very well received. Don’t forget, the people that went to Washington that day, in my opinion, they went because they thought the election was rigged. That’s why they went.”

Setting aside Trump’s typical narcissistic delusions about crowd size, he is claiming that he intended to ride to the rescue of the besieged Congress and save everyone himself. Only a brain-dead, cult-indoctrinated, paste-eater could swallow that bullpucky. The evidence provided in testimony, documents, and video, shows that Trump was at the White House cheering on the rioters as they smashed their way into the Capitol, vandalized public property, and terrorized members of Congress and their staffs, in an attempt to obstruct Congress from certifying the election.

When Trump finally did record a video to ostensibly calm the crowd – nearly three hours after the assault began – he slathered his StormTrumpers with affection, telling them that he “loved” them and understood their anger. He also tweeted that “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away.”

Trump’s phony account of his heroic aspirations is pure fantasy. He supported the obstruction of Congress and the insurrectionists who engaged in it. To this day he holds those same positions. He recently promised to halt the prosecutions of the January 6th mob if he were to be reelected. And he continues to disgorge his grossly distorted versions his reality as to what took place that day.

The only way to interpret Trump’s claim that he wanted to “stop the problem” at the Capitol is to recognize what he considered the problem to be. It wasn’t that a hostile horde of his hooligans were on a frenzied, anti-democratic rampage. It was that Congress was about to certify that Biden had won the election. And in Trump’s mind he was called not to “stop the problem,” but to “Stop the Steal,” which was what his rally at the Ellipse was titled. If he really wanted to go back to the Capitol, it was only to plant a Trump flag and declare himself president-for-life.

Trump’s Lawyer Issues Hysterical Challenge, Daring Hunter Biden to Put Trump on the Stand

The faux bravado of Republicans and their enablers is a key feature of their political psychoses. They relentlessly present themselves as fearless warriors who will face down the most monstrous adversaries on behalf of the pathetic little people who they pretend to represent. It’s a comical contortion of reality wherein they cast themselves as combatants in the wars on everything from Christmas to windmills.

Donald Trump WTF

Much of this macho pretense is inspired by the antics of the infamous Cadet Bone Spurs – aka Donald Trump – who sees himself as the MAGA Messiah, coming to the salvation of his cult disciples who are too feeble to take care of themselves. He may be right about the latter, but he is grossly delusional about the former. Trump is a notorious coward who complains incessantly about his perceived victimhood and describes himself as “the most fabulous whiner.”

SEE THIS: Victim-in-Chief: Trump is the most Cowardly, Whining, Crybaby to Ever Be President

On Thursday morning Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, visited with Maria Bartiromo of Fox News to register her outrage that Trump has been subpoenaed by Hunter Biden with regard to his prosecution on gun and tax charges. According to NBC News

“Hunter Biden asked the judge presiding over his criminal gun charge case to subpoena former President Donald Trump and top officials in his Justice Department, arguing that the investigation into him was the direct result of ‘incessant, improper, and partisan pressure’ from Trump and his allies.

The court filing also issued subpoenas to former Trump associates Bill Barr, Richard Donoghue, and Jeffrey Rosen. It stated that the charges against Hunter were a “vindictive or selective prosecution arising from an unrelenting pressure campaign beginning in the last administration, in violation of Mr. Biden’s Fifth Amendment rights under the Constitution.”

Habba adopted the typically Trumpish air of audaciousness in her response to the subpoenas. Rather than address the matter with rationality or intellect, Habba delivered an impotent challenge that she somehow thought might frighten off Hunter and his legal team. She said that…

“If they are gonna put my client [Donald Trump] on the stand to discuss Hunter Biden, I welc… Go ahead. Go ahead. No, obviously it’s ridiculous. They’re trying to intimidate, and trying to say ‘if you’re gonna attack our kid we’re gonna put you on the stand.’ For what? Saying things that we’ve seen pictures of? Checks that have come from the CCP? Drugs, videos, hookers? I mean, I’m not really sure what their angle is there, but I would advise them to get new counsel.

No, Alina. They are not putting Trump on the stand for the things you mentioned. They are calling him to account for his abuse of power, having improperly used the Justice Department to persecute Hunter and the Biden family. And it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Trump would direct his Attorney General to manufacture allegations against the Bidens and other Democrats. Trump has already declared publicly that he intends to prosecute his political foes if he is reelected.

SEE ALSO: Trump Literally Pledges to Stage ‘RIGGED’ Trials to Punish Democrats for Upholding the Law

Furthermore, none of the things that Habba rattled off would be part of any testimony requested from Trump. How could it be? He has no personal knowledge of any of those matters. And they aren’t even relevant to this case, which involves gun possession and taxes. What’s more, her list of alleged offenses includes the flagrant and already debunked lie about “Checks that have come from the CCP.”

MORE HERE: GOP Oversight Chair Spins Litany of Lies Alleging Biden Financial ‘Scandal’ that Doesn’t Exist

Habba’s taunting of Hunter to call Trump to testify is absurd considering that the subpoenas have already been issued, so he needs no further prodding. But more to the point, her excitement over the prospect of Trump testifying is hilarious. When Trump testifies he will surely advance Hunter’s defense, and most likely incriminate himself further. So… Go ahead!. Go ahead!

Trump Spokesman Uses Vile Nazi Rhetoric in His Denial that Trump Used Vile Nazi Rhetoric

To anyone who thought that the hostility and hatred embodied by Donald Trump and his incarnation of the Republican Party had reached its lowest point, you don’t know Trump and the MAGA GOP. They are just getting started on their path toward the dystopian nightmare of an America that is ruled by a sociopathic, racist, lying, aspiring dictator, who is fueled by cult worship and vengeance.

Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler

This week Trump presided over another one of his traveling salvation shows wherein he babbled incoherently about his perception of himself as both an invincible strongman and an impotent victim. How he manages that dichotomy can only be explained as a severe psychosis that is driven by malignant narcissism and acute cognitive failure. But despite the obvious defects in his mental state – or because of them – he remains an imminent threat to the liberty and democracy that are the foundations of the American Dream.

SEE THIS: Wannabe Dictator Trump Declares His Intention to Obstruct Justice and Undermine the Constitution

Trump’s speeches are typically rife with rabid rants aimed at riling up his cult congregation. They are also generally tedious repetitions of his prior ravings. However, in the latest episode of his heinous histrionics, Trump traveled farther down the road to repressive totalitarianism than ever before, using unadulterated Hitlerian lingo to satisfy his spongy supporters. In his bellicose style, Trump bellowed his pledge that…

“We will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country, that lie, and steal, and cheat on elections, and will do anything possible, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America, and to destroy the American Dream. The real threat is not from the radical right. It’s from the radical left. And it’s growing every day. The threat from outside forces is far less sinister, dangerous, and grave, than the threat from within.”

Trump is using identical rhetoric to that used by Nazis in the 1930’s to incite their reign of terror. Hitler frequently referred to Jews and other opponents as “vermin” in order to dehumanize them and justify their slaughter. He also accused his foes of seeking to “destroy” the fatherland. Trump is doing the very same thing, and for the very same reasons. And if his speech wasn’t enough evidence of his seething contempt, he repeated it on his pitifully failing social media scam, Truth Social.

On Monday morning Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, came out in defense of Trump’s repulsive rhetoric. But his attempted rationalization only made things worse, as is often the case in Trump World. Cheung said that…

“[T]hose who try to make that ridiculous [Nazi] assertion are clearly snowflakes grasping for anything because they are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and their entire existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House.”

According to Trump’s own mouthpiece, critics of Trump’s pledge to eliminate the “vermin” who oppose him are off base with their comparisons to Hitler. And as result, they themselves are going to be “crushed” out of existence. Which is precisely what Hitler promised for his critics. And this is the defense being used to separate Trump from his Nazism? That’s like someone saying he is nothing like Hannibal Lector just because he murders people and eats them. And if you say it again he’ll kill you and eat your liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

For good measure, Trump also posted a comment online that added to his pledge of retribution. He threatened special counsel Jack Smith (whom he derides as “deranged”), along with other Justice Department officials and “all the rest of the Radical Left Zealots and Thugs,” that they “will end up…in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as President is successfully completed.”

So those who Trump fails to “root out,” “crush,” or otherwise eliminate, will be incarcerated in asylums for the politically disobedient. This is the future that Trump and his team envision for America. And it isn’t just “snowflakes” who are imagining it. Trump is, in his own words, explicitly promising to enact these ghastly tactics if given the opportunity.

The American people better pay attention and believe Trump when he makes these horrific decrees. And his cult followers better listen as well. Because they are not going to be exempted when the time comes to demonstrate their unyielding devotion to Dear Leader. And if they are less than sufficiently worshipful, it’s off to the asylum for them too.

GOP Speaker Admits the Purpose of the Biden Impeachment Inquiry is to Hurt Biden Politically

Ten months ago the Republican Party assumed a sliver-thin majority in the House of Representatives. That entitled them to choose the Speaker of the House and control all of the business that is conducted, including what legislation is considered and passed. Performed responsibly, it’s an opportunity to shape the direction of the country and to serve the people’s interests.

Click here to Tweet this article

Joe Biden, GOP, Elephant

Unfortunately, expecting Republicans to perform responsibly is just too much to hope for. After an unprecedented fifteen votes to elect Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, they spent eight months of aimless meandering during which they achieved nothing of substance. They barely kept the country from a devastating default on its debt. And they merely delayed a government shutdown because they are unable to pass routine appropriations bills. The only thing they seem to be any good at is holding partisan hearings designed to smear President Biden and the Democrats.

SEE THIS: New GOP Subcommittee Chair Openly Admits His Only Purpose is to ‘Make Life Hell’ for Democrats

More recently, Republicans ousted Speaker McCarthy and spent three weeks trying to elect a replacement. Finally, they settled for MAGA Mike Johnson, perhaps the most extreme right-winger to ever sit in the Speaker’s chair. Now the Washington Post is reporting that Speaker Johnson has had a preconceived agenda to weaponize Congress in order to damage Biden’s prospects for reelection. The Post found that…

“In a closed-door meeting with House GOP moderates this week, [Johnson] indicated that there is insufficient evidence at the moment to initiate formal impeachment proceedings, according to people who attended the meeting. [But] Johnson appeared to agree with Republican lawmakers who argued that since Biden’s polling numbers have been so weak, there is less of a political imperative to impeach him.”

There are two disturbing revelations in this. First, Johnson doesn’t actually believe his prior insistence that Biden is likely guilty of impeachable crimes. He’s just been saying that to satisfy his rabidly anti-Biden House GOP caucus. And secondly, Johnson is admitting that the real purpose of the impeachment inquiries that he has supported were to hurt Biden, but that since Biden’s polling has declined, so has the “political imperative to impeach him.”

This is reminiscent of former GOP Speaker McCarthy bragging on Fox News that the Benghazi probe’s purpose was to politically hurt Hillary Clinton. In May McCarthy’s lackey, James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, made similar boasts on Fox News about the current Biden/Trump match up saying that…

“You look at the polling, and right now Donald Trump is 7 points ahead of Joe Biden and trending upward, Joe Biden’s trending downward. [because] the American people are keeping up with our investigation.”

What is abundantly clear is that everything that Republicans have been doing with regard to investigations of Biden has been solely to denigrate Biden’s character and record. And they are arrogant enough to actually confess their ethically-challenged tactics on national television. They couldn’t care less about alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors,” which they haven’t been able find any of anyway.

SEE ALSO: Fox News and GOP Impeachment Chair Seek ‘Damning Evidence’ Against Biden, But Can’t Find Any

Even after acknowledging their nefarious motives, Republicans are persisting in their campaign of slander against the President. Comer just issued subpoenas for Hunter Biden and James Biden, and requested voluntary closed-door interviews with other Biden family members. Never mind that they have no evidence whatsoever of any wrongdoing by any member of the family.

This is just the latest effort to defame Biden and, ultimately, to help Trump, for whom there actually is ample evidence of criminal activity (four indictments on 91 felony charges). No wonder Republicans in Congress are so obsessed with disparaging Biden. Look at who their candidate is, and what his problems are.

Biden Deftly Dunks Fox News Hack Peter Doocy’s Dumbass Questions About Age and Polls

Although it’s still early in the 2024 election season, the candidates for president for both parties are presumed to be settled. The incumbent, President Joe Biden, doesn’t face any serious challengers. And the Republicans are all too glassy-eyed and devoted to their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, to consider anyone else. Never mind the handful of GOP wannabes who are fantasizing that they have a shot at it.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Peter Doocy

Both Biden and Trump have vulnerabilities that are weighing on their respective campaigns. Trump’s are that he has four indictments and 91 felony charges pending against him, along with the fact that he is broadly despised as a lying, narcissistic, sexual assaulter, who tried to undermine democracy and impose an authoritarian dictatorship. Not to mention that he is also suffering from severe mental deterioration that is evident every time he speaks.

SEE THIS: ‘It May Just Be that Mr. Trump is Incoherent’ – Says NBC Legal Analyst About Trump’s Testimony

As for Biden, virtually the only criticism that his Republican opponents can cite is his age. Well, there’s is also their complaints that he is a “radical Marxist thug” who hates America, but let’s try to keep this assessment anchored to reality. Yes, Biden is old. But then so Trump. Yet somehow, only Biden’s age is an impediment to reelection.

This hypocrisy on the part of the press was on display Thursday morning when Biden met with reporters for a quick Q and A. As always, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy was there. And as always, he asked the most asinine questions. The brief exchange between Doocy and Biden went as follows…

Doocy: Why do you think it is that people should be more concerned about abortion access than your age?
Biden: I don’t think it’s a comparable comparison.

Biden was exceedingly polite in his response. Indeed, it was a ridiculous comparison. A Doocy-to-Coherent dictionary might have translated his question as, “Why do you think it is that people should be more concerned with women being able to make decisions about their own healthcare, than about phony, partisan, political attacks by Republicans and Fox News? Did Doocy really expect an answer to that bull manure? And as if that weren’t bad enough, Doocy had a follow up…

Doocy: Why do you think it is that you’re trailing Trump in all these swing state polls?
Biden: Because you don’t read the polls. There are ten polls. Eight of them I’m beating him in those states. Eight of them. You guys only do two. CNN and the New York Times. Check it out.

Don’t expect Doocy to check that out. He is only interested in quick hits that he can send back to the Fox studio where they will edit it to make Biden look like he’s mentally incompetent. He probably doesn’t even know that the last Fox News poll showed Biden beating Trump. Which is something that even Trump notices, and frequently whines about on his failing social media scam, Truth Social.

SEE ALSO: Trump Goes on Psycho-Rant Accusing Fox News of Sabotaging Him with Bad Pictures and Polls

Doocy’s questions are invariably irrelevant to anything that the American people care about. They are designed for one purpose: to try to get Biden to commit some sort of verbal gaffe that they can spend the next three days yammering about. However, Biden’s answers are further evidence of his mental acuity and good humor.

Not that any of that will get into Fox’s story when they get around to reporting this encounter. Anything that doesn’t meet their criteria for pro-Trump propaganda ends up on the editing room floor. Heaven forbid that Fox’s viewers might be exposed to the truth that Biden has a sharp intellect and a firm grasp on the issues. As opposed to Trump, the “stable genius” who is still trying to convince people that he won in 2020, by a landslide.

Fox News Reveals Their True Abortion Stance: ‘What’s Most Important? Republicans Taking Over!’

Democrats across the country are celebrating some hard fought victories in parts of the country that are not generally considered friendly to Democrats. There are a variety of reasons to explain these electoral upsets, but one issue is is featured prominently in each case.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Constitution

Ever since the Dobbs decision by the Trumpified Supreme Court that undid Roe vs Wade and reversed fifty years of reproductive health rights for American women, Democrats have won every major contest where abortion was on the ballot. And the same was true last night. Republicans went into election day confident that their extremist and broadly unpopular positions would deliver them to the theocratic Valhalla for which they yearn. But the American people clearly have more reverence for the Constitution than the GOP and its Dear Leader, Donald Trump.

SEE ALSO: Trump Literally Calls for Termination of the Constitution and FREAKS OUT Over Bogus Fox News Story

The morning after the election, Republicans were licking their wounds and searching for excuses to salve their searing disappointment at not being able to force their perverse distortions of faith down the throats of informed voters. And naturally, Fox News was quick to help comfort the forlorn GOP.

However, their attempted pacifications were more revealing than comforting. For instance, the following exchange on Fox and Friends between co-hosts Lawrence Jones and Ansley Earhardt exposed their political cynicism and utter absence of genuine principles:

Jones: 68% said abortion was “extremely or very important,” and only 32% said that it was “moderate or not important.”
Earhardt: It’s nearly seven in ten. Republicans have to figure out what their messaging is in order to go forward in the next election. We look at this midterm election as a way to gauge how Republicans or Democrats react going forward for 2024. So Republicans need to look at all of these numbers and really think about what’s more important. Yes, most people that are Republicans are probably pro-life. And we love our babies. And I love being a mother. But what’s most important? Republicans taking over. And Republicans being able to keep our country.”

That’s right. Earhardt explicitly announces that “Republicans taking over” is more important than their alleged belief that abortion is murder. And this is the lesson that she believes Republicans should learn from the losses they suffered the night before. Although, neither Earhardt, nor her confederates, offer a single suggestion about how to manifest that lesson.

The Fox and Friends crew were not alone on Fox News surrendering their supposedly deeply held convictions about abortion. Sean Hannity took essentially the same position saying that…

“I consider myself pro-life, but I understand that’s not where the country is. I would say first trimester or Dobbs 15 weeks seems to be where the country is, and these issues will be decided by the states.”

And also that…

“Democrats are trying to scare women into thinking Republicans don’t want abortion legal under any circumstances.”

In short, Hannity is also happy to abandon his faith and manufacture lies if it means scrounging up more votes from voters who aren’t paying close attention to the fact that Republicans will strip them of their rights no matter what concessions they are pretending to take on the day after their humiliating defeat at the polls.

Both Fox News and the Republican Party are transparently hypocritical and dishonest. They only care about attaining and preserving power. It’s the same mindset that drives them to obediently worship in the Cult of Trump. And it’s what defines Trump’s own authoritarian aspirations. None of them have the least bit of sincerity or adherence to ethical values. And you know it’s bad when they actually say so out loud.

Bizarro Trump Embraces the ‘Fake News’ New York Times, While Bashing the ‘Unwatchable’ Fox News

With election day 2024 now officially one year away, some people will begin paying a little more attention to campaigns and candidates. Although it’s still likely that most Americans will avoid the subject until after both Democrats and Republicans have selected their nominees at their respective conventions next summer.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Fox News, Fake

On the surface there doesn’t seem to be much mystery about who the candidates will be. President Biden is unlikely to have a serious challenger for the Democratic nomination. And since there are no Republicans who can be taken seriously about anything, Donald Trump will likely cruise to his party’s nomination. The Republican primary season has already begun with two debates completed and the third scheduled for this week. And Trump has chickened out of all three.

SEE THIS: Trump Chickens Out of the Fox News GOP Debate, Will Be Fluffed By Tucker Carlson Instead

Still, both Biden and Trump have vulnerabilities that could result in their being sidelined. Biden has been hammered in the allegedly “liberal” media for his advanced age, although he is only three years older than Trump, and noticeably more capable and better qualified to perform the duties of the office. Trump, on the other hand, has four indictments pending on 91 felony charges, and has been embarrassing himself with repeated episodes of his mental deterioration.

SEE ALSO: ‘It May Just Be that Mr. Trump is Incoherent’ – Says NBC Legal Analyst About Trump’s Testimony

Which brings us to the recent poll by the New York Times that found Trump to be leading Biden in five of six swing states. There are as many good reasons to be concerned about those results as there are to dismiss miss them as premature or outliers. So that can be debated elsewhere.

What’s interesting is that Republicans are downright giddy over these numbers and are convinced that they herald a certain Trump victory twelve months from now. And among the MAGA faithful who are clutching onto this poll is their Dear Leader, Donald Trump. In fact, Trump has already dropped five posts citing this poll on his pitifully failing social media scam, Truth Social.

That’s right, Trump, who devoutly decries the New York Times as the “failing,” “fake news” arm of the “radical Marxist thugs” on the left, is now heralding them as an ideological ally and a bastion of insight and accuracy. For some reason Trump isn’t castigating the Times an anti-Trump rag populated by idiots who hate America. All of a sudden those idiots are prophets doing the Lord’s work.

At the same time, Trump has lately been chastising his longtime Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. He has rebuked it as a “dead, “unwatchable,” network that is “pushing the radical left, do-nothing Democrats,” and “is doing nothing to help Republicans, and me, get re-elected.”

SEE THIS: Trump Viciously Attacks Fox News, the Network He Says is ‘Dead, Totally Fake, Unwatchable’

If you thought you recently felt a reversal in Earth’s geomagnetic polarity, this might explain it. Or more likely, it may just be Trump’s tendency to take diametrically opposing views whenever he thinks it is in his interest to do so. And those positional reversals can occur over a matter of years, weeks, or even minutes.

Case in point, Trump just dispatched his attorney, Alina Habba, to Fox News, despite it’s deadness and unwatchability. However, while there Habba accidently said something that was uncharacteristically true. Following Trump’s testimony in his financial fraud case, she complained that “There’s a real disregard for authority here, and a real primary focus on politics.”

Habba’s remarks were an accurate description of Trump’s infantile behavior in court, although she might not have meant it that way. Fox meanwhile, identified her as “Alina Habba: Save America Legal Spokesperson,” rather than as his attorney. The question now is, will Trump have to dump Habba for fraternizing with the enemy? And will he renew his subscription to the no-longer-fake New York Times? Or will he simply adopt some other opinion that temporarily satisfies his voracious ego? The smart money is on the latter.

Fox News Host Asks Democrat What Biden Did to Create Jobs, Then Cuts Him Off When He Tells Her

The success of President Biden’s economic policies is evident by almost every major indicator. The Biden administration is responsible for the nation’s record job growth, restoration of domestic manufacturing, inflation that has been declining for the past fifteen consecutive months, expanding healthcare and making it more affordable, and much more. All while reducing the deficit.

Fox News, Fake News

So naturally Republicans and their Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) have embarked on a campaign of lies and smears in order to deceive the American people and inflame their MAGA-tized supporters. They are so determined to spread their brand of disinformation that they are even putting critical aid to our allies in Israel and Ukraine at risk on behalf of wealthy corporations and tax cheats.

SEE THIS: Republicans in Congress are Holding Israelis Hostage to Aid for Wealthy American Tax Cheats

Democrats are making valiant efforts to counter the Republicans’ fictional dystopian fantasyland. For example, Rep. Ro Khanna of California ventured into the lion’s den of Fox News on Friday to try to expose their viewers to a few facts. He was met by a blatantly biased host who was clearly opposed to truthful information and was determined to prevent any from getting out.

Khanna: Let’s just look at some basic facts. Since the President has come into office almost 14 million jobs were created. Now 70% of those were jobs that were recovered. I grant that.
Smith: Can I just get in there, and I try not to interrupt [as she is interrupting[. “Created” is a very interesting word. Can you tell me what specific policy under this president created those jobs?
Khanna: Yes, I actually can. The American Rescue Plan, which put in money into infrastructure and helping people to stay employed in small businesses. The infrastructure bill, which has led to a boom in construction jobs. The Chips Act, which has led to a boom in manufacturing.
Smith (interrupting again): The reason I ask is because a lot of that was a rebound from the COVID pandemic, correct? [Khanna already said that]
Khanna: Seventy percent of those jobs were recovered from the COVID pandemic. I’m acknowledging that. But here’s the point. You know, it was recovered within two years because of the American Rescue Plan. We could have been in a Great Depression. Give the President credit for the recovery and the creation of new jobs. And the reality is that this was the policy of the American Rescue Plan, of the CHIPS Act, of the Infrastructure, of the Inflation Reduction Act. Four percent unemployment used to be considered full employment in this country. The inflation in this country at 3.7 percent is less than inflation anywhere else in the world.
Smith: I got it.

So Smith pretended that she wanted to know what policies President Biden had implemented that benefited the economy. But when Khanna surprised her by actually responding with the facts, she stopped him and asked him to concede a point that he had already made himself. Either she wasn’t listening or she didn’t care, because she was more focused on a “gotcha” moment that never came.

To his credit, Khanna rolled right over Smith’s interruptions, and finished laying out the record of Biden’s achievements. He made the salient point that, even though many of the jobs created during Biden’s term had previously been lost due to COVID, there was no guarantee that they would have been restored without the thoughtful and astute management of Biden and Democrats in Congress. In fact, nearly all Republicans voted against nearly all of the legislation that produced such positive results for the American people.

After Khanna had itemized some of Biden’s accomplishments, Smith cut him off again with a smug “I got it,” intended to short-circuit Khanna’s effective recitation of the economic realities. This is how Fox News works to keep their audience ignorant. And sadly, it works all too well too often. But then, it’s easier when the audience is eager to be lied to and swallows the most preposterous falsehoods without question.

Democrats need to continue to get out the message that Bidenomics is working. Maybe Fox News isn’t the best place to do that, but between now and the election next year they have to convince people that it is Biden and the Democrats who are working on their behalf – and succeeding.

GOOD LUCK: White House Asks Fox News to Apologize for ‘Hateful Lies’ By Racist Host Jesse Watters

The war in the Middle East between Hamas terrorists and Israel is continuing to cost the lives of untold numbers of civilians on both sides of the conflict. However, the tragic consequences of this war are not limited to the geographical region of the combatants. In some obvious and painful ways the war has been brought home to the U.S.

Jesse Watters, Fox News

Americans of Jewish and Arab heritage are increasingly becoming the victims of vile bigots who are engaging in verbal and physical abuse against innocent people who have nothing to do with the war. Indeed, many of the victims are advocates for peace and tolerance. Even worse, among the blatant racists are leaders in the Republican Party such as their new Speaker, Mike Johnson, who is already callously politicizing the war…

To no one’s surprise, the GOP’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is leading the parade of prejudice. On Thursday Jesse Watters, Fox’s Senior White Nationalist since the exodus of Tucker Carlson, unleashed a repulsive rant attacking the entire Muslim population of America. He fumed feverishly that he wanted “to say something about Arab Americans and about the Muslim world.” Then he upchucked the following…

“We made them rich. We got that oil out of the ground. Our military protects all of these oil shipments, flying around the world, making them rich. We fund their military, we respect their kings. We kill their terrorists. OK? But we’ve had it. We’ve had it with them. Obama, Trump, now Biden, have tried to get the heck out of that stupid desert. Just as we’re about to get out, because we have this great balance of power we’re arranging, these crazy Muslim fanatics come in and massacre over a thousand of our allies and hold Jewish people hostage, hold Americans hostage. And so, if you are an Arab American in this country and you ripped down posters of Jewish hostages, American hostages. No. No. No. No. Someone is gonna get punched in the face.”

Notice that Watters directed this hostile harangue to Arab Americans. Not to the Hamas terrorists or anti-Semites in the U.S., but to every Arab resident in the country. And his threat of being “punched in the face” was likewise aimed broadly at an entire ethnic community. It is bitterly emblematic of the Islamophobia that infects the hate mongers of the ultra-right.

In response, President Biden had the White House issue a statement condemning Watters’ rancid rhetoric and asking Fox News for an apology. Never mind that Fox would never rise to the level of decency necessary to produce such an apology. To the contrary, they would more likely give Watters a bonus. The White House statement said that…

“These hateful lies about ‘Arab Americans and…the Muslim world’ highlight the urgency of President Biden’s work to ensure hate has no safe harbor in America, and why he committed to the first national anti-Islamophobia strategy in our history. These unacceptable remarks come just weeks after the heartbreaking killing of a 6 year old Palestinian-American child, and during a spike in threats against Muslim and Arab Americans.

“Fox News owes an apology to every single viewer for this sickening attack on the rights and dignity of their fellow Americans. President Biden will always stand up against Islamophobia, antisemitism, and all forms of hate. Fox News should learn from his example.”

Predictably, Republicans and other committed racists attacked Biden’s efforts to diminish bigotry. Across the rightosphere there were complaints that the Biden administration was focusing only on islamophobia and ignoring anti-Semitism. For instance, Fox News anchor Julie Banderas opined that “college campuses have become hot beds for Jew haters.” Then went on to criticize the administration saying…

“But then you have Kamala Harris, the vice president, who just this week launched a strategy to end anti-Islamophobia in this country, almost turning a complete blind eye to the true hatred in this country right now, and it’s anti-Semitism.”

Banderas’ Fox colleague, Steve Hilton, agreed insisting that college campuses where students protested attacks on Palestinian civilians need to be shut down. Which is both anti-Palestinian and anti-free speech. However, it’s consistent with the conservative opposition to education, in order to keep their followers stupid.

What’s more, these remarks are not merely racist. They are also flagrant lies. The Biden administration has spoken out repeatedly against anti-Semitism. And just two days prior to this rant on Fox News, the administration announced an initiative to address the growing anti-Semitism in America…

“The Biden administration is unveiling new actions Monday to combat antisemitism on college campuses after an ‘alarming’ uptick in incidents since the Israel-Hamas war started in early October. The departments of Justice and Homeland Security are partnering with campus law enforcement to track hate-related threats and provide federal resources to schools, according to the plan.”

So the cretins on Fox News and in the Republican Party are deliberately lying about the positive efforts by Biden to constrain hate mongering. And they are also lying in order to exacerbate the hatred of Muslim and Arab Americans. That’s because they want these relationships to sour so that they can blame any unrest on Biden and the Democrats. And they just don’t care who gets hurt.

Peter Doocy of Fox News is APPALLED that Biden is Working to Free American Hostages in Gaza

The war being waged in the Middle East between Hamas terrorists and Israel continues to produce horrific casualties for innocent civilians on both sides. The Biden administration has been staunchly supportive of the right of our allies in Israel to defend themselves, as well as the welfare of Palestinians in the line of fire and those displaced by the conflict.

Fox News, Peter Doocy

In the meantime, Republicans in Congress have lowered themselves to politicizing the issue by conditioning critical aid to Israel and Gaza civilians on a callously political handout to America’s ultra rich and corporations. The GOP scheme pairs the aid to a cut in funding for the IRS, which would result not only in allowing wealthy tax cheats to get away with their crimes, but also a $26 billion increase in the nation’s budget deficit.

With all of that roiling the political environment in Washington, Fox News White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, sought to contribute his unique brand of bias and deflection during a press briefing on Thursday morning. The predictably partisan narrative stuffed into his loaded questions resulted in the following exchange with John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security Council…

Doocy: Talking about getting Americans out of Gaza, President Biden said “I want to thank our partners in the region and particularly Qatar.” The leader of Hamas lives in Qatar. So why is President Biden thanking them for anything?
Kirby: Oh jeez, Peter! Let’s take a step back and look at this.
Doocy: This is the group that killed Americans and kidnapped Americans within the last month.
Kirby: Peter, Qatar has been helpful in getting those Americans out. I’m sure that you would agree with me, and everyone at your network would agree, that getting American hostages out is a good thing. And Qatar is a key player in that regard. Qatar has lines of communication with Hamas that almost nobody else has.

Now, I’m not saying we support Hamas. Of course we don’t. They’re a terrorist organization. And Israel has an absolute right to go after them. But Qatar has lines of communication that not everybody else has, and it would be irresponsible – in fact I would expect that you and everyone else in here would be going after me if we weren’t doing everything that we could, and having every possible conversation we can have, to get Americans that are held hostage back home with their families. If we weren’t doing that it would be diplomatic malpractice.

First of all, Kirby is mistaken if he believes that Doocy and “everyone at [his] network” agree that freeing American hostages takes priority over their partisan political objectives. As evidenced by their conditional aid to Israel, Republicans are far more fixated on providing aid to their privileged domestic donors than to the victims of foreign wars.

Furthermore, Doocy is exhibiting his famously biased and ignorant perspective on current affairs by failing to grasp that American and Israeli hostages are not going to be released without the help of Qataris who have open lines of communications with Hamas. Trying to bully Qatar into going after Hamas personnel would not advance the goal of freeing Americans. And there will be plenty of time to pursue Hamas after the hostages are safe.

Nevertheless, Doocy persisted with his line of questioning, provoking Kirby to reiterate that “We are working with Qatar to get our people out and to help get aid in. That’s our priority right now.” Kirby also noted that the U.S. helping Israel to go after the terrorists. Which, as previously noted, is something that Republicans in Congress are working against with their conditional aid to Israel. Maybe Doocy should ask Republicans about that.
