WTFox? Fox News Hack Asks Press Secretary if the White House is Going to Shut Down Twitter

The melodrama engulfing Twitter since it was devoured by the American oligarch, Elon Musk, is spinning ever more ludicrous plots. And in keeping with the themes dictated by Donald Trump, they generally involve some wealthy wingnut’s paranoid delusions of persecution and victimhood. Poor little billionaires.

Fox News, Peter Doocy, Karine Jean-Pierre

Whenever there is some feigned offense as perceived by the uber-elites, the Fox News propaganda machine can be relied upon to pursue its mission of spreading disinformation on behalf of Trump’s Republican Cult Party. Central to that undertaking is the Fox News White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, whose role has always been to manufacture preposterous narratives for his network’s news mangling.

RELATED: WH Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to Fox News’ Peter Doocy: That’s a Ridiculous Question

On Wednesday Doocy assumed his position in the White House press room to fulfill his assignment for the day. He quickly excreted another contrived and bizarre scenario that wasted everyone’s time and forced the Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, to school him on some basic principles of communication and free speech.

Doocy: When are you guys gonna delete the White House Twitter account?
Jean-Pierre: Why would we do that?
Doocy: Well, you say that you’re keeping an eye on Twitter because it might not be a suitable platform. So why use it?

It’s difficult to comprehend just how inept and unqualified Doocy is for the job he’s allegedly doing. Unless, that is, you accept that his job is to babble incoherently in pursuit of what he thinks is a “gotcha” question. Obviously the White House can post comments on Twitter that convey their positions without embracing everything about the site that is troublesome. But Doocy needed the remedial explanation…

Jean-Pierre: I want to be very clear here. The President has always said, and he has been very clear in his belief that it is important for social media platforms to continue to take steps to reduce hate speech and misinformation. And he will continue to say that. But media platforms make independent choices about the information that they present. So I don’t have anything to share on any policy or any changes that we will be making. We have multiple platforms, as you know, that we utilize to communicate with the American people.
Doocy: You say that you’re gonna be monitoring the speech on there. If you see something that you don’t like, would you try to shut Twitter down?
Jean-Pierre: When you talk about monitoring, I hate to break it to you Peter, just like everybody else, we very much monitor the news. We pay close attention to everything that you all are reporting. And Twitter is in the news a lot. And that’s what we’re paying attention to. We’re paying attention to what is in the news and what is being reported on the misinformation that’s out there.

Doocy’s laughably illogical leap to the conclusion that the White House would consider “shutting Twitter down” is representative of the mindset of Fox News and the radical right. It’s what they would do. All Jean-Pierre was saying is that misinformation and hate speech are tangible threats to the welfare of the public, and that Twitter and other social media outlets have an obligation to conduct reasonable moderation. But Doocy failed to grasp Jean-Pierre’s clearly articulated point that it is the company’s obligation, not the government.

For the record, the only presidential administration that ever actually threatened to shut down Twitter was that of the former reality TV game show host, Donald Trump.

RELATED: WTF? Trump Regrets Not Banning Facebook and Twitter When He Was President

It is also notable that Trump filed a truly idiotic First Amendment lawsuit against Twitter (which was quickly dismissed), and beseeched his glassy-eyed cult followers to quit Twitter, which he asserted should be outlawed. For more on those execrable exploits, see the following…

Funny, neither Doocy nor Fox News ever had any problem with any of that. They are obviously pro-totalitarian dictatorship when the dictator is Trump of any other Republican.

Trump Admits He’s Guilty in a Fear-Drenched Rant Attacking the Special Counsel as a ‘Monster’

Another day, another barrage of frenzied rage pouring out of Donald Trump as he sinks ever further into the gloom and doom of his wretched existence. Life at Mar-a-Lago is obviously becoming an unbearably agonizing hell for the former reality TV game show host.

Donald Trump Sweating

True to form, Trump is reacting to the legal peril of his own making by resorting to whining and childish name-calling. After initially lashing out at Special Counsel Jack Smith as a “Trump hater” (like the majority of Americans), Trump escalated his assault with attacks on Smith’s wife.

RELATED: Trump and His Desperate Right-Wing Conspiracy Kooks Go After Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Wife

On Tuesday morning Trump went even further with his fury over at being held accountable for his many crimes. In a blitzkrieg of bitter posts on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, Trump yowled that he was the innocent victim of biased Justice Department led by a “monster” intent on persecuting him. Poor baby. It was a tedious rehash of every baseless gripe that Trump has babbled for the past several years. For instance

“I’m supposed to get a fair shake from this person, who’s under tremendous pressure from his family, but he is actually worse than they are? Can Republicans, and fair-minded people, generally, allow this to happen? Jack Smith is nothing less than a hit man for Obama, his Attorney General Eric Holder, and Andrew Weissmann. Weaponization. Our Country is in big trouble, a real mess!”

And

“When will you invade Bill and Hillary’s home in search of the 33,000 emails she deleted AFTER receiving a subpoena from the U.S. Congress? When will you invade the other Presidents’ homes in search of documents, which are voluminous, which they took with them, but not nearly so openly and transparently as I did?”

And

“This fully weaponized monster, Jack Smith, shouldn’t be let anywhere near the political persecution of “President Donald J. Trump.” I did nothing wrong on January 6th, and nothing wrong with the Democrats’ fix on the Document Hoax, that is, unless the six previous Presidents did something wrong also….”

So Trump is afraid that he can’t get “a fair shake” because Smith’s family is putting “tremendous pressure” on him? But he is “actually worse than they are?” So then why would there be any pressure, unless they were pressuring him to be more lenient? Trump also dishes out his typically infantile insults saying that Smith is “a hit man for Obama,” and a “monster.” He whines that Smith “shouldn’t be let anywhere near the political persecution” of Trump. So who does he think should be let near the “persecution?”

Trump’s whining that he did nothing wrong is just more of his refusal to take responsibility for having incited an insurrection and having stolen highly sensitive national security documents and hoarding them at his Mar-a-Lago hotel/home, after lying to the FBI about having them. He repeats his ludicrous claims that other presidents have done the same thing, when in fact none of them did. The National Archives has affirmed that all such documents in the past were kept strictly under the control of the Archives.

RELATED: Trump’s Ludicrous ‘Whataboutism’ Falsely Accuses Obama of Absconding With Classified Documents

Trump also complains that the FBI never searched the homes of prior presidents. That may be because there was never any reason to do so. However, in the process Trump explicitly confesses his own guilt. He admits that he took the documents “openly and transparently,” if by “openly and transparently” he means secretly and denying it afterward.

So once again, Trump is his own worst enemy. The more he opens his big mouth, the more evidence of his guilt he provides to prosecutors. So in the words of President Obama, “please proceed.”

Fox News Blames Jewish Philanthropists for Gun Violence in 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Cities

Last week anti-Semitism rose to the top of the news cycle after Donald Trump dined with Ye (aka Kanye West) and the infamous Holocaust denying, white nationalist, Nick Fuentes, at Mar-a-Lago. Trump claims that he doesn’t know who Fuentes is, but several days later he still hasn’t renounced the repulsive bigotry of Fuentes and Ye.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Guns Logo

Trump is almost certainly lying when he says that he doesn’t know who Fuentes is. But if true it would be even worse. It would mean that the leading figure in the Republican Party is pitifully ignorant about the most prominent hate monger in America. Well, the most prominent other than Fox News hosts…

RELATED: Tucker Carlson’s Race War Dreams are Evident in His Hateful Rant Against a Black MSNBC Host

It didn’t take long for the seething prejudices of Trump and his dinner guests to surface again on Fox News. Monday morning’s episode of “Outnumbered” twisted a segment on crime into an attack on Jewish billionaires who donate money to politicians and initiatives that seek to reduce gun violence in America, a goal that is popular among the majority of Americans.

The discussion was triggered by comments that Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy made on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday. He noted that states with stronger gun laws have much less gun crime than the so-called “2nd Amendment sanctuary cities” that take pride in letting gun violence proliferate. Then he elaborated asking…

“Do we want to continue to supply funding to law enforcement in counties that refuse to implement state and federal gun laws? Red flag laws are wildly popular.”

Good question. Why should the federal government subsidize cities that refuse to enforce laws that are already on the books? Particularly when there is so much evidence that such laws are effective and that, when they are ignored, gun violence increases. However, that rational observation was lost on the hosts of Fox’s Outnumbered. They used the subject to launch into the following foul exchange…

Harris Faulkner: “I think about that George Soros cash that has poured in and how many people have been damaged and hurt in those neighborhoods where they need the most protection. Of course the soft-on-crime is not going to go away, those liberal DAs. He poured a ton of cash through his entities in there.”
Mercedes Schlapp: Soros, Bloomberg, I mean there’s such a large number of these leftist groups that focused on gun control.”

Once again, these hacks are impervious to the facts about gun violence and crime. But what’s worse is that they went out of their way to put all of the blame for the imaginary crime waves on Jewish philanthropists. That isn’t accidental.

Fox News is carrying out its mission to advance the putrid rhetoric of hate that is integral to the Republican agenda. They are brazenly insulting the good intentions and generosity of Jewish Americans who care about their country and its citizens. So it’s no wonder that they don’t bother to call out the anti-Semitism of Trump and his malicious Mar-a-Lago goon squad. They are too busy reinforcing it. And when they aren’t embracing the vile biases of the GOP, they are promoting their spokespersons. For instance…

Trump and His Desperate Right-Wing Conspiracy Kooks Go After Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Wife

On Thanksgiving day, Donald Trump posted more than forty fanatical memes expressing undying adoration for Dear Leader. They included expressions of worshipful love and loyalty in words pasted over artificially iconic images of Trump as superhero or savior.

Donald Trump, Snake Tongue

Missing from this avalanche of self-adulation were any wishes for a happy Thanksgiving. However, interspersed among the exaltations and QAnon-sense were Trump’s own outpourings of rage against “Radical left” Democrats, and “rigged” courts and judges, and perennial “witch hunts,” all in his warped cranium determined to stifle him and his MAGA cult movement. It was a Thanksgiving Day parade of pity and victimhood.

RELATED: Trump Rages After Tax Return Ruling that Supreme Court is ‘Political’ and ‘Lost its Honor’

At the top of Trump’s miscreant mind was Attorney General Merrick Garland’s recent appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate his criminal activities related to the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol that he incited, and the theft of national security documents that he hoarded – and lied to the FBI about having – at his Mar-a-Lago bunker.

In utter horror over the prospect of his being held accountable, Trump posted several hostile comments on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, directed at Special Counsel, Jack Smith, and more disturbingly, at his wife, documentary filmmaker Katy Chevigny. Trump ranted that…

“Democrats argue a Supreme Court justice (Clarence Thomas) must recuse from cases, based upon the personal political views of his wife (Ginni). So why doesn’t Special Counsel Jack Smith have to recuse, based upon his wife’s anti-Trump/pro-Biden large political donation and other major advocacy on behalf of Democrats?”

And he fumed that…

“The wife of the Special Counsel Biden chose to investigate @realdonaldtrump (his likely opponent in 2024) reportedly produced the Michelle Obama documentary… Yes America, you are reading this correctly.”

Trump’s ravings are typically ego-based and legally befuddled. Analogizing Smith to Clarence Thomas makes no sense. As a Supreme Court justice, Thomas can (and does) make decisions that bear directly on the activities of his wife, Ginni, who was an active participant in the coup staged by Trump and his traitorous StormTrumpers. Thomas has already made rulings that shield his wife from legal scrutiny and potential liability.

On the other hand, Jack Smith’s work as Special Counsel would have no bearing whatsoever on the activities of his wife. Furthermore, unlike Ginni Thomas, Chevigny, and Michele Obama, the subject of her documentary “Becoming,” have not been implicated in efforts to overthrow the government of the United States.

RELATED: Fox News Totally Ignores Story About Ginni Thomas Texting QAnon Nuttery to Mark Meadows

Smith’s wife, like the spouses of all Justice Department attorneys, (and all Americans) is free to support whatever candidates and political parties she wants to. So are the attorneys, for that matter. That doesn’t mean that the career prosecutors to whom they are married are going to exercise bias in the performance of their duties. And it wouldn’t matter if they did. Because the judges who hear the cases aren’t going to adopt any alleged biases if the existed.

Smith’s record in the Justice Department is unblemished by any allegations of political bias. He has prosecuted both Democrats and Republicans in the past. That’s routine for the Justice Department. For instance, special counsel Robert Mueller, who probed Trump’s connections to Russia during the 2016 campaign, was a lifelong Republican.

Trump’s temper tantrum is standard operating procedure for him. It hardly matters what the facts are. He will always strive to contort the circumstances into some sort of personal assault, because all he knows how to do is whine. He has actually bragged that he is the most fabulous whiner,” a claim that is hard to argue with. And he’s providing another outstanding example of it with his reaction to the Special Counsel appointment and the unconscionable attack on his wife.

Donald Trump is The Biggest Loser: Post-Midterm Poll Affirms What Everyone Already Knows

In the wake of the 2022 midterm election’s fabled “Red Wave” that never materialized, the Republican Party is drifting aimlessly as they try to pretend that they weren’t all aboard Donald Trump’s Titanic electoral catastrophe.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Biggest Loser

Now Trump is sinking to new lows at a time when historically the party in the White House loses dozens of seats in Congress and state offices. That didn’t happen this time, and it’s evident that Trump is the reason why. Voters abandoned him, and the flotilla of feckless hopefuls that he endorsed, in droves. True to form, Trump went berserk at having been fingered for the fiasco he caused.

RELATED: Crybaby Trump Lashes Out at ‘Fake News’ for Reporting Accurately that He’s the Biggest Loser

Trump’s responsibility for the GOP’s implosion was affirmed in a new poll, as reported in The Hill

“Voters and Republican operatives alike are labeling former President Trump the biggest loser of the midterms, raising questions about his strength heading into 2024.

“In a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday, 20 percent of voters said Trump was the clear loser after the Nov. 8 elections, while 14 percent said “MAGA Republicans” were and 12 percent pointed to mainstream Republicans.”

In all, nearly half of the poll’s respondents (46%) placed the blame squarely on Trump or his mutation of the Republican Party. Although that wasn’t much of a revelation. Trump had already lost the presidency once. He lost the popular vote twice. His two impeachments continue to hang over his losing legacy. And he is the subject of several civil and criminal investigations. No wonder 65% of registered voters don’t want him to even run in 2024.

By contrast, the same poll found that only “15 percent said Democrats were the biggest losers,” and that only “46 percent of respondents … said they would vote for him if the Republican presidential primary were held today.” That’s just Republicans.

Ironically, Trump posted a comment Tuesday morning wherein he was “thrilled” that nearly half of his own party would vote for someone else in a primary. But despite this foreboding future for the Former Guy, Trump is articulating a delusional account of the election results. He posted the following comment exalting himself and MAGA on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social

“Joe O’Dea lost his race in CO by over 12 points because he campaigned against MAGA. Likewise, candidates who shifted their ‘messaging’ after winning big in the Primaries (Bolduc!) saw big losses in General. Will they ever learn their lesson? You can’t win without MAGA!”

Of course, what Trump is yammering about is diametrically opposed to reality. It was the MAGA candidates who lost, including Lee Zeldin (New York), Doug Mastriano (Pennsylvania) Dan Cox (Maryland), Tudor Dixon (Michigan), Mehmet Oz (Pennsylvania), etc.). And it was those few who distanced themselves from Trump who won, including Brian Kemp (Georgia), Steve Sisolak (Nevada), Ron DeSantis (Florida), and Mike DeWine (Ohio).

Clearly MAGA is an anchor around the necks of GOP candidates. But Trump is too wrapped up in his malignant narcissism to notice. And his fawning sycophants at Fox News aren’t helping him when they encourage his psychosis with this sort of lunatic analysis…

House Republicans Openly Promise to Abuse Power and Impose One-Party, Totalitarian Rule

As the Trump Republican Party prepares to assume control of the House of Representatives with the barest of a majority, they are plotting unrealistically ambitious plans for how they will govern. And almost none of their priorities align in any way with what the American people want, or even with what they campaigned on.

Donald Trump, Republican, GOP

Gone is any discussion of inflation, crime, immigration, or abortion. They have been replaced by a singular focus on phony probes of President Biden, his administration, and his family. Republicans have been fanning out on Fox News and other conservative media outlets promising to impeach the President, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, just for starters.

RELATED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Goes on Berserk Impeach Everybody Rant and Challenges Biden to a Debate

Let’s set aside the fact that they have no chance of succeeding with any that. Nor do they have any intention of doing so. It’s a brazenly political parade of stunts aimed damaging Democrats while ignoring the welfare of the nation, and wasting untold millions of dollars.

But it’s also something much worse. It’s an embrace of totalitarianism that seeks to suppress their political foes. Republicans are determined to rule unimpeded by protocol, decency, or the Constitution. For example, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) was asked on Newsmax if GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy intends to strip Adam Schiff of his committee assignments if he becomes Speaker. He replied…

“Yeah, absolutely. Kevin McCarthy has said that. Along with him will be Eric Swalwell will also be removed from the Intelligence Committee.”

Indeed, McCarthy said that last year. According to NBC News

“McCarthy named Reps. Eric Swalwell of California; Ilhan Omar of Minnesota; and Adam Schiff of California as Democrats he’d remove from their committee assignments.”

Never mind that there is no reason other than ideological disagreement for these punitive actions. This is the sort of fascistic behavior that the GOP has been trending toward for several years. What they didn’t mention was the fact that any such committee removals would require a vote of a majority of the House. The Republicans will have a small majority, but because of that, McCarthy wouldn’t have a vote to spare if he intends to carry out this oppressive threat. And if he manages to get away with it, the blowback will be brutal.

In addition to that, Republicans are up in arms about Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing an independent Special Counsel, Jack Smith, to investigate the crimes of Donald Trump. Garland justified the appointment as a measure to separate the Justice Department from the politics. Needless to say, Trump was mortified, as well as terrified.

RELATED: Trump’s Response to the Appointment of a Special Counsel is Predictably Outraged and Schizoid

Trump-fluffer Marjorie Taylor Greene weighed on in this with a threat of her own. On Steve Bannon’s webcast, she told him that she intends to defund the Special Counsel, saying that…

“I just wanna tell Jack Smith he’s not going to get much of a paycheck. Because I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure there is zero American taxpayer dollars appropriated for Merrick Garland’s special counsel, which is nothing but the Democrat Party’s campaign against president Trump […] We’re not going to do this again. That’s it. We’re gonna stop them and we’re gonna do it through the power of the purse.”

Once again, Greene (who said, in the best tradition of fascists, that she would “rule with an iron fist”) and her Republican confederates don’t have the power to unilaterally defund anything. Even if they passed a bill in the House, it would never get through the Democrat-controlled Senate, or be signed by Biden. What’s more, why on Earth would she want to do that? Would she prefer that the investigation be done by the Justice Department attorneys who report to Garland? This is one of those things that Republicans typically fail to think through. Naturally, Greene got concurrence from both Bannon and Laura Ingraham of Fox News.

McCarthy has been cutting deals with folks like Greene in order to secure their votes for Speaker, which he still doesn’t have. Consequently, he is on board with these crackpot schemes that they can’t actually do. And he has also revealed his own priority for the next session of Congress, insisting that the “GOP will repeal Biden’s 87,000 new IRS agents on day one.”

Of course, there is no such initiative. It is just another Republican lie based on an appropriation of funds to recruit IRS employees to replace those who leave over the next five years. And most of them are not agents, but administrative staff.

RELATED: Fox News Fear Mongers that Biden’s IRS Agents Will ‘Hunt Down and Kill Middle Class Taxpayers’

This is what America has to look forward to after the GOP assumes control of the House. On the one hand, it will be a nightmare as Republicans carp endlessly about fake “scandals” and contrived conspiracy theories. On the other hand, it will only further alienate the American people from the GOP, because they are repulsed by their self-serving political antics.

The GOP is proudly anti-American. They have pledged to sabotage the U.S. (and world) economy by refusing to increase the debt ceiling in order to force cuts in Social Security and Medicare. As a result, it is fairly safe to assume that the GOP majority in the House isn’t going to last longer than the next session of Congress. And the Republican’s march toward irrelevancy will advance the Democrat’s prospects for elections in 2024. And they’ll have Marjorie and Kevin to thank.

It’s Hunter Time: GOP Leaders are Putting Fox News First By Implementing the Hannity Agenda

The Republican Party is giddy over having just barely won a majority in the House of Representatives. And like children, their euphoria is blinding them to the challenges that are integral to the responsibilities of leadership that they must assume. The GOP is accepting their new position of legislative authority in a state of dimwitted delirium.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News Sean Hannity

In a series of post-election interviews, Republican leaders have articulated an agenda that most closely resembles the blather excreted nightly on Fox News. Just as their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, did before them, they are taking their political advice from the hacks and blowhards that populate Fox’s primetime schedule. And first among the GOP’s priorities is to initiate investigations into President Biden’s son, Hunter.

RELATED: Trump’s GOP is Morphing Hunter Biden Into an Evil Cartoon Villain to Deflect From January 6th

Never mind that this is a matter that has undergone the equivalent of a political prostate exam by Republican politicians and right-wing media for several years. And that it was a consuming fixation of Trump and his pseudo-Justice Department. And that throughout all of that they found no evidence of wrongdoing to pin on Hunter or his father.

The Republicans moving into the executive suites in the Capitol are now explicitly targeting the phony Hunter story as their top priority. During a press conference shortly after the House majority was established, GOP honchos gathered to lay out their plans to conduct congressional investigations. They began with Jim Jordan, incoming chair of the House Judiciary Committee, quoting from a letter signed by a bipartisan array of 51 former intelligence officials, saying that…

“The arrival on the U.S. political scene of emails purportedly belong to Vice-President Biden’s son, Hunter, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation. We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails provided to the New York Post are genuine or not, just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”

First of all, it should be noted that Jordan edited a portion of that quote that actually referred to “the emails provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.” Why do you suppose Jordan cut that part out?

More to the point, Jordan is deliberately misrepresenting the content of the letter. He and his GOP confederates have long been asserting that there was a claim that the emails, and the stolen laptop from which they were taken, didn’t exist. That was never the case. The letter only addressed the fact that Russia was exploiting the story to foment distrust in American democracy. Which is precisely what was in the quote read by Jordan, even though he continued to pretend that there was something more.

So Republicans are promising that this investigation will be among the first actions they take as the majority party. They don’t even want to talk about anything else. During the press conference, when a question on another subject was asked, James Comer, incoming chair of the House Oversight Committee, chastised reporters saying that “This is kind of a big deal. If we can keep it about Hunter Biden, that would be great.” And the GOP’s official Twitter account demonstrated their Hunter fetish…

Notice that they have already drawn their conclusion that the Bidens are guilty. So what is the need for the hearings? Well, like everything else that Republicans do, it’s to spread lies about Democrats and seek to prejudice future elections with their propaganda. Which is also what Fox News is for. In fact, on Wednesday night both Comer and Jordan were guests on Sean Hannity’s program dispensing the very same lies that they told at their press conference. Notice that Hannity actually spends most of the time talking as he outlines the legal points for his GOP plebes…

Fox News Lauds Trump as ‘Unbeatable in 2024’ Following His Dystopian Campaign Announcement

The “big announcement” that Donald Trump has been teasing for several weeks was unveiled Tuesday night before an audience of glassy-eyed cult devotees at Mar-a-Lago. It was a decidedly anti-climactic affair given that everyone knew what he was going to say, they’d all heard it many times before, and it was delivered with the energy of a sedated sloth.

Donald Trump TV Set

Nevertheless, the Trump-fluffers on Fox News were exhilarated by his tedious performance. Dispelling the notion that Trump had lately fallen out of favor with the Fox News fascistas, the reaction to his campaign kick-off speech was drenched with unabashed adulation.

RELATED: Crybaby Trump Lashes Out at ‘Fake News’ for Reporting Accurately that He’s the Biggest Loser

Trump’s speech was reminiscent of his inaugural “American Carnage” address that painted the nation in a starkly depressing hue. It’s the same spectrum of hellishness that colors almost all of Trump’s visions of America, other than the utopian autocracy with him at the helm. And it was that vision that excited the Fox News crew.

While Fox News carried the first forty minutes of Trump’s hour-plus long speech, they broke into it so that Sean Hannity and his guests could tell their audience just how magnificent what they were watching was. It began with the co-host of Fox and Friends, Pete Hegseth, gushing that “This looks like Trump in as good a form as you have ever seen him.” That was followed by Hannity regurgitating an extended segment of the speech wherein he asserted that “Americans are suffering pain, hardship, anxiety, and despair.” Then he threw it to Fox News contributor, Mike Huckabee, for this mushy commentary…

“Sean, the construct of the speech is pitch perfect. If he keeps on like this tonight, he is unbeatable in 2024. Nobody can touch him. Not a Republican, not a Democrat. […] I’m telling you, this was an absolutely brilliant speech, the best I’ve heard him give in a long time. And he stays on this message, I agree with Pete, he stays and keeps it between the ditches, and this focus, he’s unbeatable.”

Seriously? If these people really think that this Trump speech is going to propel him to electoral victory in 2024, they are terminally delusional. This is precisely the sort of dreadful dialogue that resulted in Trump losing in 2020. It’s why 65% of registered voters don’t want him to run in 2024. And it’s why he failed to produce the fabled “red wave” in 2022.

RELATED: Trump’s Truthless Temper Tantrum Over the Midterm Election Results is Just So Trumpy

Trump’s speech was just more of the same tiresome bombast that he excretes incessantly at his cult rallies. He bragged about accomplishments that never occurred (border wall, jobs, economy, foreign policy). He falsely claimed success in the midterms. He floated a new conspiracy about his having lost in 2020, saying that “Many people think that China played a very active role in the 2020 election.”

Of course, Trump also ranted about how Democrats have destroyed the imaginary utopia that he thinks he left behind. He even repeated his paranoid delusions of being spied on by the FBI.

For some reason Trump left out any mention of the many crimes he committed, and the ongoing criminal and civil investigations (so helpfully enumerated by Hannity here). He didn’t mention the deadly insurrection he incited at the Capitol. He didn’t acknowledge the litigation against him for tax fraud in New York and election interference in Georgia.

However, in his whining about how awful America is, he noted that it was plagued by “blood-soaked streets” in “cesspool cities.” And he declared that he has “no doubt that it’s going to get worse.” That’s the same line he recently used at his cult rally where he fear mongered that “the streets of our once great cities are drenched in the blood of innocent victims.”

And all of that is what the cretins at Fox News regard as the sort of inspiring oratory that will guarantee Trump’s return to the White House. But only if he can stay on message. Which is not a skill that he is known for, to put in mildly.

The Foxies think that because Trump didn’t dwell on his “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him, as he usually does, that he’s abandoned it. But rest assured that he will return to that theme before long. He can’t help it.

MAGA Marge (Taylor Greene) Blames Imaginary Voter Fraud, not GOP Losers, for Midterm Losses

The post-midterm election analysis is going to go on for the next few weeks, maybe months. Democrats were expected to lose dozens of seats in Congress according to historical precedent and the low favorability of President Biden. That didn’t happen.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon

The surprising strength of Democratic candidates around the country is a welcome relief to Democrats, and a stinging wound for Republicans. Under the circumstances, the losing party would ordinarily commence a political autopsy to ascertain what went wrong and how to fix it. But, true to form, the Trump Republican Party refuses to behave rationally, even in their own interest.

RELATED: Rep. Raskin: Donald Trump is the Problem of the Republican Party and He May Destroy Their Party

On Monday morning GOP grouch, Marjorie Taylor Greene, was a guest on Steve Bannon’s “War Room.” And her post-election postmortem was as predictable as pestilence at a trash pile. As usual, Greene displayed the hallmark Republican aversion to taking responsibility for anything, when they can just shift blame to others. On that score, Greene summed up the GOP’s electoral defeats thusly…

“We lost in 2020 because of the mail-in ballots and because it was ripe for election fraud. And now we’re watching it again, especially in Kari Lake’s race over in Arizona. This shouldn’t be this way. Everyone was calling for a “red wave.”

“Either all the pollsters were wrong and they need to be fired – and that’s Republicans, Democrats, and every media pollsters saying that we were going to get a red wave, or we have to finally acknowledge the fact – or at least we have to get the other side to acknowledge the fact and admit the truth – that mail-in ballots is the biggest problem in our election and it is going to be a major factor going forward into 2024.”

Greene began her harangue by reaching back to the 2020 presidential race that Donald Trump lost decisively by more than seven million votes. For the past two years Greene and her Republican confederates, led by Trump and his “Big Lie” lie, have failed to produce a shred of evidence that there was any significant election fraud. And they have likewise proven no fraud in 2022 either.

Nevertheless, Greene is outraged by the pollsters she alleges contrived a deliberately false narrative of a massive Republican victory. Bear in mind that Republicans have been bashing pollsters since way before this year’s election. So it’s curious that she is now singling them out for criticism when she has never accepted them as reliable sources before.

What’s more, Greene’s undermining of democracy by casting false doubts on mail-in voting is a preview of where Republicans will be going in the next few months as they continue their crusade to suppress the vote by making it harder to participate.

Now Greene is calling for pollsters and other alleged perpetrators of that “red wave” rhetoric to be fired. Okay. In that case Greene is advocating for the mass termination of everyone at Fox News…

Firing the notoriously dishonest partisans at Fox News would just be the start of the house cleaning that the media requires. Media outlets such as Newsmax, OAN, Breitbart, even Greene’s host this morning, Steve Bannon, should be next on the firing line. Bannon predicted that Republicans could pickup 100 seats this election. He was only off by about 100.

Greene is among the most extreme members of the GOP caucus in Congress. And her refusal to accept reality with regard to the race is typical of her party peers. Which is good news for Democrats. The more delusional Republicans are about what happened this week, the lees able they will be to correct course. Which could pave a the path for another Democratic rout of the GOP in 2024. All thanks to the madness of Greene et al.

Crybaby Trump Lashes Out at ‘Fake News’ for Reporting Accurately that He’s the Biggest Loser

The Republican Party and their mouthpieces in conservative media are licking their wounds as they come to the realization that their promised “red wave” sweeping GOP candidates to victory never rose to more than a trickle. Now they are testing out various lies and distractions to avoid accepting the fact that their agenda and candidates are simply repulsive.

Donald Trump

Nowhere is that desperation to deceive themselves and their disciples more apparent than in the reaction by former reality TV game show host, Donald Trump. In the immediate aftermath of the 2022 midterm election, Trump bragged about the nonexistent Republican victory and how successful he was with his endorsements. Of course, neither of those things even remotely resembled reality. So he quickly backpedaled to grasp onto his old faithful excuse for everything: the radical, communist, fake news media.

RELATED: Trump’s Truthless Temper Tantrum Over the Midterm Election Results is Just So Trumpy

Trump spent much of the morning on Thursday posting frantic comments on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, in a futile attempt to assuage his depression. As usual, he displayed signs of a severe separation from reality and a grossly malignant brand of narcissism. He began by writing that…

“There is a Fake Story being promulgated by third rate reporter Maggie Hagaman of the Failing New York Times, that I am blaming our great former First Lady, Melania, and Sean Hannity, that I was angry with their pushing me to Endorse Dr. Oz […] I was not at all ANGRY. Fake News!”

Sure. Trump was “not at all angry” that so many of his hand-picked sycophants went down to humiliating defeats. That’s why he deliberately misspelled the name of his favorite New York Times reporter, Maggie Haberman to insult her as a “hag” (a change from his prior nickname, “Maggot”). He also calls her a “third rate reporter” despite having granted her many interviews. He is probably still hurt by Haberman’s recent book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.”

Trump also tried feebly to distance himself from failed Senate candidate, Mehmet Oz, saying that “he was not a ‘denier’ (his mistake!)'” Yeah, that was the problem. Then Trump went on to write that…

“I’d like to apologize to Melania and Sean Hannity for all of the Fake News […] The Fake News Media is ‘Crazed’ and totally out of control […] They MAKE UP stories and then push them down your throats. Our Country is in big trouble!”

Right. Because Melania and Hannity are the victims in all of this, poor things. And Trump once again complains that reporters had no sources for their stories. What Trump is really upset about is that so many of his insiders are willing to become confidential sources in order to tell the truth about him. And then he continued…

“Despite having picked so many winners, I have to put up with the Fake News. For me, Fox News was always gone […] but now they’re really gone. Such an opportunity for another media outlet to make an absolute fortune.”

For the record, most of the “winners” Trump picked were Republicans in safe districts who were expected to win. But in most of the races that were competitive, his candidate lost or squeaked by. And it’s cute that Trump is bashing Fox News here, so soon after apologizing to Sean Hannity. He just can’t figure out who he hates from one moment to the next. But Trump still wasn’t done whining…

“For those many people that are being fed the fake narrative from the corrupt media that I am Angry about the Midterms, don’t believe it. I am not at all angry […] Remember, I am a ‘Stable Genius.'”

If Trump is really not angry, that would just indicate an even greater measure of cognitive collapse. A normal human would be angry after an electoral smackdown like the one he just suffered. But apparently, being a “stable genius” immunizes one from human emotions.

Although, Trump does have some justification for being mad at the press. There were numerous post-election articles published that appropriately assigned the blame to Trump for the GOP meltdown. The problem for Trump is that many of them were by staunchly conservative outlets. Media Matters compiled some examples that include…

FoxNews.com: “Conservatives point finger at Trump after GOP’s underwhelming election results: ‘He’s never been weaker.’”

Daily Wire: “Donald Trump certainly is not the leader of the Republican Party. … His priority is not the Republican Party.”

Wall Street Journal: “Trump is the Republican party’s biggest loser.”

NY Post: “Here’s how Donald Trump sabotaged the Republican midterms.”

National Review: “Trump is the Republican establishment now. He’s the default, the Man, the swamp. And he’s a loser.”

There are many more such articles, as well as commentaries by right-wingers disenchanted with Trump and his destructive, divisive, deceitful, and delusional diatribes. And these are the views of his friends. No wonder he’s going berserk … er … more berserk.
