Marjorie Taylor Greene Goes on Berserk Impeach Everybody Rant and Challenges Biden to a Debate

The Chairperson of the Republican’s House Crackpot Caucus, Marjorie Taylor Greene, is demonstrating again how critical she is to the Loony Fringe contingent of the GOP. And since she has no committee assignments or other pressing duties in Congress, she is free to spend all of her time on the wingnut web TV circuit promulgating hate and lies.

On Saturday morning Greene was a guest on Steve Bannon’s webcast. Bannon, who was recently convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress, invited Greene on to discuss what she regards as the top priorities of the Republican Party should it manage to take the majority in the midterm election. And what are those priorities? Well, According to Greene, “Joe Biden and his family will be a top target. And so will the CDC, the FBI, the Department of Justice, Department of Education, Homeland Security, and many other federal government entities.”

That’s right. The GOP intends to abandon their obviously phony rhetoric about inflation, crime, and immigration, in order to pursue an entirely baseless path of persecution and vengeance. Because pathological hatred is the defining characteristic of Donald Trump’s Republican Confederates. And Greene was happy to reiterate that position on Bannon’s aptly named “War Room.” Greene raged that…

“That’s how we’re going to impeach Joe Biden. That’s how we’re going to impeach Merrick Garland. That’s how we’re going to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. And I’m going to continue to call for it and push for it cause that’s what the American people want. The polling is there, Steve. It is there.”

Never mind that Greene has no rational reasons for impeaching anyone. She proved that when she filed her articles of impeachment for President Biden on the first day of his presidency. The entire bill was about Hunter Biden, and it was so preposterous that it got only one GOP cosponsor.

Perhaps Greene is upset that Biden neglects his presidential duty to tweet all day and night, and to post dozens of flattering videos of himself (as established by her messiah, Trump).

Biden himself addressed the GOP’s inbred malice saying that “I’m already being told, if they win back the House and Senate, they’re going to impeach me. I don’t know what the hell they’ll impeach me for.” Neither do they. But despite her lack of coherent cause, Greene won’t be deterred from her malicious mission. She also told Bannon that…

“If Joe Biden wants to talk to me about why I want to impeach him, or why he’s going to be impeached, why America wants him impeached, then I’d be happy to have that discussion with him on a debate stage. And I challenge him to that debate. Because I would love to bring forward the evidence, and I’d like to see him try to defend himself. He’s guilty and he’s going to be impeached.”

First of all, Biden shouldn’t and wouldn’t lower himself to debate “Empty Greene.” More to the point, twice now Greene has said that the American people want Biden to be impeached. Although she doesn’t bother to reveal where she got the deranged notion. For the record, a recent University of Massachusetts Amherst Poll found that only 34% of respondents agree with her. That’s the baked in GOP/QAnon faction of the electorate. It’s made up of 68% of Republicans and Trump voters. So there are even 32% of them who don’t think Biden should be impeached.

Greene is actually being helpful in a backhanded manner. She is illustrating superbly why it is so important that Democrats turn out to vote and that Republicans are turned out of office. The GOP is wholly fixated on revenge. They couldn’t care less about the well being of the nation or the people. In fact, they have pledged to sabotage the national (and international) economy. And if they prevail in the midterms, Greene has telegraphed precisely what that would mean for the future…

Trump Viciously Attacks Judge for Assigning Monitor to Prevent His Continuing Criminal Acts

There is nothing that Donald Trump hates more than being held accountable for his notoriously bad behavior, whether personally immoral or publicly criminal. But despite his aversion to being punished for his wrongdoings, he persists in committing them and complains when there are well deserved consequences.

What set Trump off was that Judge Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over the civil suit filed by the New York Attorney General, Letitia James, ruled in favor of assigning an independent monitor to whom Trump would have to report in order to stop him from committing any further fraudulent business practices. Trump couldn’t suppress his seething anger at the judge, or at the thought of the law finding him liable. And it wasn’t the first time…

On Friday morning Trump demonstrated his hair-trigger hostility for the rule of law by posting a hysterical comment on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. Trump whined that Judge Engoron is “A Radical Left Lunatic Judge” who is “dedicated largely to defaming me,” and “was appointed … by my worst political enemies.” And as is the case with everything that Trump criticizes, it is all “Rigged & Corrupt.”

First of all, Judge Engoron was elected, not appointed. But those pesky facts don’t deter Trump from his raging or pathetic sense of perpetual victimhood. He followed up that rant a few hours later writing that…

“The New York State Court System is being ridiculed all over the World! You have a Corrupt, Racist, Weak on Crime Attorney General, Letitia ‘Peekaboo’James, who campaigned on ‘I will get Trump, even though she knew NOTHING about me. Then you have a highly political, biased Judge, who is totally controlled by my worst enemies. His rulings and manner are SICK. He gave his quick hearing, & ridiculous decision, right before Midterms – A No No! He’s worse than Peekaboo, and a real ‘Trump Hater.'”

Once again, Trump has a uniquely perverse perspective of reality. Any ridicule being expressed around the world is almost entirely directed at Trump. And AG James knows enough about him to have accumulated abundant evidence of his crimes. Which is what is really gnawing at him.

Trump seems to think that there is some benefit to insulting the presiding judge as “SICK” and corrupt and biased. And Trump also mistakenly believes that it’s “a no no” to bring him up on state charges. He’s going to find out the hard way that none of that is true. There is a sound legal basis for the monitor, which was outlined in the ruling. As reported by CNN…

“A New York state judge on Thursday imposed a monitor to oversee the Trump Organization’s financial statements after the New York attorney general’s office asked for added oversight to stop what they allege is a decade-long fraud conducted by former President Donald Trump and three of his adult children.

“Judge Arthur Engoron wrote in an 11-page opinion that given the ‘persistent misrepresentations throughout every one of Mr. Trump’s [financial statements] between 2011 and 2021, the Court finds that the appointment of an independent monitor is the most prudent and narrowly tailored mechanism to ensure there is no further fraud or illegality.'”

In short, the monitor was put in place to prevent Trump from selling or transferring any assets, or undertaking any corporate restructuring, without prior notice and approval from the court. The necessity of this monitoring was made evident by Trump’s attempt to create a new entity – Trump Organization 2 – into which he could transfer his business assets to shield them from the $250 million lawsuit filed by the the New York Attorney General.

Trump’s wrath over this ruling is just his latest meltdown. When he was required to sit for a deposition in the case, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment more than 400 times. And he has already filed two lawsuits attempting to derail the legal cases against him. To date, that has been a fruitless effort driven by desperation. But then, that’s all he has left. And he knows it. Were he innocent he would be arguing for an acquittal rather than insulting the judge and the court.

Twitter Tyrant Elon Musk Comes Out Against Free Markets and Free Speech

It really is a sad commentary on the state of the American economy when the world’s richest man is found whining about losing money due to his own incompetence, ignorance, ego, and greed. Yet that’s where we are now as Elon Musk discovers that the rest of the world isn’t as enamored of his “brilliance” as he is.

On Friday morning the new “Chief Twit” (as he calls himself) posted a tweet expressing his dismay at the loss of revenue at Twitter following his acquisition. And naturally, he blames it on unidentified “activists” who, in his festering paranoia, he is convinced are out to destroy him. Sounds a lot like his buddy, Donald Trump.

Many people assume that because Musk managed to accumulate an obscenely immense fortune, that he must be an exceptional businessman, rather than just lucky and/or skilled at exploitation. But Musk’s tweet revealed just how poorly he understands both business and the Constitution. He tweeted that…

“Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists. Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.”

Let’s breakdown Musk’s meltdown. First of all, the “massive drop in revenue” is a pittance to a multibillionaire who way overpaid for the company he so badly wanted to control. But Musk is, nevertheless, howling at a loss of revenue that could have been easily predicted. He was, in fact, warned that his intention to impose his concept of “free speech absolutism” would result in an advertiser exodus. No advertiser wants their ads to be displayed in proximity to blatant hate speech and flagrant disinformation.

Despite the predictable results of his own foolish strategies, Musk is blaming “activist groups” for the decline in revenue. But what he is actually complaining about is that people other than himself are exercising their rights to free speech. Musk, like many right-wingers, thinks that free speech means that no one can disagree with whatever you say. And if anyone does disagree, and communicates their disagreement to others, they are insufficiently grateful for the crumbs that you scatter among them.

Musk also asserts that “nothing has changed with content moderation.” That’s technically true. However, hate mongering Twitter users anticipating the “free-for-all hellscape” that he has outlined for Twitter didn’t wait for any official starting gun to go off. The bile began spewing almost immediately upon the news that Musk closed the deal. As reported by ABC News…

“A new study from Montclair State University showed a dramatic increase in hate speech on Twitter immediately following Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform. […] In similar research by the cyber research organization Network Contagion Research Institute, the use of the N-word racial epithet skyrocketed by over 500% on the website.”

Now Musk is surprised that the predictions of fleeing advertisers are coming true. Already some major advertisers have suspended their buys on Twitter. They include General Mills, Audi, General Motors, Pfizer, Ford, Mondelez (Oreos), and Volkswagen. Musk’s shock and anger over this illustrates his opposition to the free market. These companies have every right to protect their brands from the harm of being associated with the hate speech that Musk is encouraging.

So in that one short tweet, Musk has demonstrated his opposition to free markets, as well as the fact that it is he who is “trying to destroy free speech in America.” What’s more, his distress over the loss of some revenue is especially grotesque coming after he reportedly fired half of the employees at Twitter. Which he is doing in order to offset his own losses due to the preposterous overpayment he made to acquire the company.

Musk obviously has no sympathy whatsoever for the much more severe loss of revenue that the Twitter employees will suffer. But so long as he manages to restore a tiny fraction of the fortune he lost buying Twitter, the suffering of others is their own problem.

Trump Files Another Lame Lawsuit Against the New York Attorney General Who He Hates and Fears

For most of Donald Trump’s public life he has been known as serially litigious. He uses the courts as a tool to intimidate and obstruct those with whom he has any disagreement whether legal, financial, political, or personal. For the most part it has only been effective when used against small businesses that he sought stiff. He has had much less success with it in the political realm.

However, that doesn’t mean Trump hasn’t seen some benefit from his lawsuit frenzies. They have served to delay accountability by abusing the system with multiple filings and appeals. Never mind that those efforts generally end in failure for Trump.

Despite his record of repudiation by the courts, Trump persists in filing his pathetic and futile lawsuits. The latest one was filed on Wednesday against Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York. James is suing Trump for fraud related to his shady real estate business. So naturally, Trump is trying to evade accountability again with a legal distraction that has no chance of success.

Trump announced the filing Wednesday on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, buried within a barrage of 72 mostly nauseatingly narcissistic posts the same day. Trump wrote that…

“Today, I filed a lawsuit in Florida State Circuit Court against the corrupt Attorney General of New York State, Letitia “Peekaboo” James. New York State is one of the most crime-ridden places on earth with murders, robberies, drug deals, and every other form of crime setting records on a weekly basis.”

First of all, it is ridiculous to file a lawsuit in Florida against the Attorney General New York. But that’s just the beginning of Trump’s foolishness. He repeats his infantile nickname for James (“Peekaboo”) for which no one can figure out the meaning. And he chastises James for not eliminating all crime in New York, which isn’t her job. In New York local district attorneys have jurisdiction over those matters, not the state Attorney General. But Trump wasn’t through. He went on to whine about being subjected to the law, like every other citizen…

“[James] attacks great and upstanding businesses which have done nothing wrong, like the very successful, job and tax producing Trump Organization that I have painstakingly built over a long period of years. Crooked and highly partisan James now thinks it is the business of the State of New York to go after my revocable trust and pry into my private estate plan, only to look for ways to recklessly injure me, my family, my businesses, and my tens of millions of supporters.”

Setting aside the fact that the Trump Organization is neither successful, nor a job creator, Trump is dismissing the abundance of evidence proving that he and his family have actually done a great deal of wrong. And it’s cute that he tries to reflect his own criminal behavior on his not-nearly millions of cult supporters, who are not the targets of James’ lawsuit. And he still had more to say…

“If I were not elected President of the United States, and now leading in the polls by substantial margins against both Democrats and Republicans, this would not be happening.”

Trump may be partly right about this. Had he not elevated himself in the public eye, he might have slithered by with his crimes, as he had done for many years before he ran for office. But his massive, yet fragile, ego drove him to put himself in legal jeopardy, believing that he is untouchable.

For her part, AG James replied to Trump’s filing by noting that Trump’s prior lawsuits have been laughed out of court. And she reiterated her that position that the New York Attorney General will not be intimidated or dissuaded by Trump’s impotent bluster…

“Multiple judges have dismissed Donald Trump’s baseless attempts to evade justice, and no number of lawsuits will deter us from pursuing this fraud. We sued Donald Trump because he committed extensive financial fraud. That fact hasn’t changed, and neither will our resolve to ensure that no matter how powerful or political one might be, no one is above the law.”

This lawsuit by Trump follows other recent efforts to evade accountability. But those efforts reeked of desperation and fear. For instance, when Trump was forced to give a deposition, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment more than 400 times. And in another bonehead play, Trump lashed out at the judge presiding over his case. All of which reveals just how tortured Trump is by these proceedings. He know he’s guilty, and has no recourse but to throw his feeble temper tantrums. and so he does.

UPDATE: Trump has dropped this lawsuit in order to avoid more sanctions for frivolous filings.

WH Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to Fox News’ Peter Doocy: That’s a Ridiculous Question

There’s a reason that Doocy repeatedly engages in preposterous propaganda. There’s a reason that he never tires of making a fool of himself. There’s a reason that he’s always around when a new distraction needs to be invented. The reasons are always built around the same idiocies. And even President Biden has observed it and commented on it…

On Wednesday Doocy sought to land what he surely thought was a punishing “gotcha” question. Instead, he sputtered out an inquiry that didn’t even make sense. And Jean-Pierre dispatched it quickly in this exchange…

Doocy: Following up on your comment that there’s an alarming number of Republicans who are saying they are not going to accept election results, Does that mean President Biden thinks it is a threat to democracy if somebody votes Republican?
Jean-Pierre: No, that’s a ridiculous question.
Doocy: Why is that a ridiculous question?
Jean-Pierre: Because the American people should have the right to vote for whoever they want. That voting is a sacred right. It is something that the President wants to protect at every turn. And he has done that. He has taken actions to protect the right to vote. And you see Democrats in Congress also doing the work to protect the right to vote.

The tortured “logic” of Doocy’s question is difficult to find. There are in fact “an alarming number of Republicans who [won’t] accept election results.” And, by definition, those Republicans can pose a threat to democracy if they act on their manifestly anti-democratic views. But that doesn’t mean that Biden thinks it’s a threat to democracy if someone votes for any Republican. Unlike many Republicans, Biden believes exactly what Jean-Pierre said: that people have the right to vote for whoever they chose.

Biden isn’t opposed to the two party system. Rather he, like most Americans, is opposed to opportunistic, demagogic politicians who seek to undermine democracy in order to obtain power in defiance of the will of the people. Doocy is apparently too dense to be able to grasp these concepts. Which is why he keeps getting smacked down every time he tries to inject his biases into his pitifully partisan questions.

However, Doocy’s incompetence is precisely why Fox News gave him the job. He is fulfilling the Fox mission to always contrive crackpot controversies. So this may be a good time to present a reminder of…

Hillary Clinton Was Right: Fox News Hack Peter Doocy Reanimates the Old ‘Deplorables’ Smear

On Fox News Tuesday night their White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, trotted out a stale attack line from 2016 that Fox used extensively to malign Hillary Clinton. Doocy referenced Clinton’s remarks about “deplorables” that she made when running against Donald Trump. Doocy’s excuse for bringing it up was a severely shortened clip of Clinton being interviewed Tuesday by Joy Reid on MSNBC. Naturally, Doocy misrepresented what Clinton said on both occasions:

Doocy: Hillary Clinton is doing the TV rounds for Democratic candidates as well. And in an interview now she is suggesting that she thinks that the only people that are voting Republican this cycle are ones that are not smart enough to understand the issues.
Clinton: I’m not sure they really understand the threats to their way of life.
Doocy: That is in line for the costly comments she made in 2016 when she referred to people moved to back Donald Trump as quote “a basket of deplorables.”

First of all, Clinton never said anything about Republican voters not being “smart” enough. She a made perfectly reasonable observation that some of them might not fully understand what is at stake in this midterm election. That includes the stated Republican agenda of criminalizing reproductive choice, gutting Social Security, suppressing the vote, and sabotaging the economy.

In order to make his point, Doocy had to slice a single sentence from Clinton’s interview that he could purposefully distort. Here is what Doocy and Fox News left out…

“They may think that whoever is chairing a committee is kind of abstract. But Republicans in the House and others, like the chair of the Republican Senate Campaign Committee (Rick Scott), are on record saying that they are going to put Social Security and Medicare up for a vote.”

Clinton went on to say that she doesn’t understand why Americans “are not up in arms” about the “reckless behavior” that the GOP has promised to take, adding that…

“Sometimes when I tell people that, they say ‘Oh, they would never do that.’ Well, they told us for fifty years that they were going to get rid of Roe v Wade and turn abortion over to the states where state legislators and local political officials can decide what your healthcare would be. Why wouldn’t you believe them that they are going to go after Social Security and Medicare? I believe them. I take them at their word.”

Clinton may be overstating her inclination take to take Republicans at their word. She is unarguably right in this context. However, the GOP is a notoriously dishonest party who lie relentlessly about their record and about Democrats.

The subject of “deplorables” is a perfect example of Republican lying. Clinton never tagged all GOP voters with that label. She was referring only to the most extreme Trumpists. In fact, she explicitly narrowed her remarks saying that “you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’” But Doocy is, once again, distorting what Clinton actually said. Maybe he should pay more attention to the manifestly deplorable things that Republicans are saying, and that Clinton got 100% right.

Tucker Carlson Defends Elon Musk’s Disgusting Tweet About the Attack on Nancy Pelosi’s Husband

Following the attempted murder of Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Musk posted a tweet that spread a blatantly false conspiracy theory about the assault that was published by a notoriously fake news outlet. There was immediate revulsion and condemnation of Musk’s malicious comment, which led to his eventually deleting the tweet. Although, like Donald Trump, he never issued a correction or apology.

Despite the fact that even Musk recognized that his tweet deserved deletion, Fox News Senior Fascista, Tucker Carlson, remained enamored of Musk and the grotesque remarks he made. On Monday night’s episode of his program, Carlson came to Musk’s defense with a monologue that embraced the fake news…

The New York Times “came out with a piece that says – and we’re quoting – ‘Elon Musk, in a tweet, shares a link from a site known to publish fake news.’ Really? What did Elon Musk do? Well, he linked to an article about how Paul Pelosi called the guy in his home a friend. Well, that’s what the 911 tape says. You can draw your own conclusions or not. Or maybe you don’t care, which is also fine. How is that fake? Seems to be real.”

Carlson deliberately mischaracterizes the incident saying that “Pelosi called the guy in his home a friend”? So, first of all, Carlson is describing the assailant, not as the attacker who broke into Pelosi’s home, but as a guy who just happened to be there. Also, Carlson is lying about what the 911 tape says. It was the 911 dispatcher who made the “friend” reference, not Pelosi. What’s more, the police reported that Pelosi was speaking in code because he didn’t want the assailant to catch on that he was talking to the police.

For the record, to answer Carlson’s question about what Elon Musk did, here is the truth. Musk posted a tweet replying to one by Hillary Clinton, wherein she noted correctly that…

“The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow.”

Musk’s reply included the link to the obviously phony “Santa Monica Observer,” that is known for publishing crackpot conspiracy theories such as that Hillary Clinton had died and been replaced by a body double for a debate with Trump, and that Trump had appointed Kanye West to a high position at the Interior Department. And yet, the new owner of Twitter bought into the the whole sham.

Notice that Musk added his own agreement with the bogus article saying that “there might be more to this story than meets the eye.” He also later mocked the criticism he received for spreading such loathsome lies in another tweet that took a sideways swipe at the New York Times for reporting about him accurately.

So Musk dismisses the obscene dishonesty and callousness of his original remark. And his pal Tucker Carlson rushes to rationalize, and even agree with, Musk’s horrendous conspiracy mongering. But then, that’s to be expected from Carlson and Fox News, where lies and conspiracies comprise the bulk of what they broadcast. It has been their mission from day one. And it will continue for as long as their are cult minded viewers dumb enough to believe them.
