Trump Throws Antifa Tantrum Over January 6th Insurrection on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest

Nearly ten months ago Donald Trump dispatched his psycho StormTrumpers to the Capitol in a doomed but deadly attempt to stage a violent coup. The January 6th insurrection revealed the chilling lengths that the Cult of Trump would go to in order to seize power for a tyrannical madman.

Donald Trump Rally, Sieg Heil

In the months that followed, Trump has doggedly pursued his single-minded obsession with undermining democracy and exalting himself as America’s first dictator. Much of that objective involved justifying the brutality of the rioters that he incited. From the start he portrayed the rioters as “patriots” and told them that he “loved” them. Despite voluminous video evidence of violence against people and property, Trump told Laura Ingraham of Fox News that his neo-fascist fanatics posed “zero threat.”

Trump is still peddling those pernicious and self-serving lies. The latest episode occurred Tuesday evening on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Fluff Fest (video below) where Trump did what he does best: Whine! He ranted for the full hour about his delusional claims that he won the “rigged and stolen” presidential election, insisting that the real insurrection occurred on November 3, 2020 (election day), not January 6th. And he complained about Congress having the gall to investigate the worst assault on the U.S. seat of government since the Civil War. He blathered that…

“Our country focuses on so many of these fake investigations and we don’t focus on greatness any longer. Everything is an investigation. You look at what’s going on now when you have an ‘Unselect’ Committee – it’s an ‘Unselect.’ And the way they’re treating people. And yet Antifa, who are bad…BLM…You look at all of the horror shows and the death and destruction they cause. And they don’t go after them. But they go after people that in many cases – not in all cases – but in many, many cases are patriots. And you had some bad people – if you look at what happened at the Capitol – you had some bad people that were not patriots at all. And they came from other places including Antifa and including others, and they led a lot of people astray. They don’t want to cover that. They don’t want to cover the election results.”

First of all, there wouldn’t be so many investigations if Trump and his confederates didn’t commit so many crimes. No president has had more administration and campaign associates indicted and convicted than Trump, who was impeached twice himself. And if he really wants to focus on greatness, he might consider the unprecedented success of the Biden administration that has accomplished more in ten months than Trump did in four years.

Trump also reaffirms his infantile temperament with his “Unselect” nickname, for the bipartisan House Select Committee, that would make an eight year old cringe. He further asserts that the criminals who stormed Congress are being treated poorly because they are being held accountable for their crimes.

What’s more, Trump’s complaint that the election results weren’t covered is really just his desperate yearning for his lies about nonexistent election fraud to be accepted, despite the utter absence of any evidence after nearly a year, more than sixty court cases, and the indefatigable efforts of the MyPillow crackpot, Mike Lindell, and Fox News.

However, where Trump really skids off the rails is with his defense of the rioters as “patriots” and his baseless assertion that the “bad people” were clandestine members of the fictional foils of the far right, Antifa. But while Trump and others of his ilk seek to falsely lay the blame for all civil unrest on Antifa, Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security concluded that it is right-wing extremists who pose the most risk of violence.

Trump’s ludicrous accusations against imaginary leftist agitators also contradicts much of what is claimed by his own supporters. Tucker Carlson, for instance, is convinced that it wasn’t Antifa but the FBI that orchestrated the January 6th insurrection. He even produced a lie-riddled, multipart crocumentary on the subject that he titled “Patriot Purge.” And Trump fanboy Alex Jones posted his own video confession that his orders for the insurrection came directly from Trump.

Given the rampant dishonesty and incoherent ramblings of Trump and his dimwitted disciples, it is impossible to take his latest spleen venting seriously. Not that that was ever considered by rational thinkers. But it is still unsettling to see him persisting with this line of asininity. And it is even more troubling to know that there are mental defectives like Carlson, Jones, and most of the Republican Party who continue to put their faith in Trump’s fever dreams.

WATCH: Alex Jones Says His Orders for the January 6th Insurrection Came from Trump

The House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection just issued five more subpoenas for documents and testimony from Donald Trump’s collaborators in the riots that he incited in Washington, D.C. The list includes two of Trump’s most devoted henchman, political dirty trickster, Roger Stone, and notorious conspiracy crackpot, Alex Jones.

Alex Jones Infowars

The Committee’s announcement of the latest batch of subpoenas noted that their purpose is to seek “information about the rallies and subsequent march to the Capitol that escalated into a violent mob attacking the Capitol and threatening our democracy.” And to that end they spelled out the specific reasons for selecting these individuals to appear.

RELATED: CNN’s Killer Video Mash Up: Tucker Carlson is the New Alex Jones

The subpoena for Alex Jones was especially revealing. It provided a detailed account of his complicity with Trump in his attempted coup. For instance, the subpoena affirmed that Jones stated that…

“…the White House told you on or about January 3, 2021, that after the Ellipse rally ended on January 6th, you were to lead a march to the Capitol, where President Trump would meet the group […] and to gather on the east side of the Capitol to hear President Trump speak.”

This is not a speculative assertion by the Committee. There is video evidence of Jones stating that his actions were being directed by the Trump administration. Jones said that…

“The White House told me three days before, we’re gonna have you lead the march. The Secret Service, before Trump finishes thirty minutes before, will lead you to point, take you out of the front row, and lead you to the place where they want you to start the march. And Trump will tell people ‘Go, and I’m gonna meet you at the Capitol.'”

Of course, the Coward of the Mar-a-Lagoon never showed up at the Capitol as Jones – and Trump himself – had promised. He left his StormTrumpers in the lurch, and hundreds of them are now facing criminal charges for following his orders. The Jones subpoena also stated that…

“…you and others on Infowars repeatedly promoted President Trump’s allegations of election fraud and urged people to come to Washington, D.C., for the January 6 Ellipse rally, and made statements implying that you had knowledge about the plans of President Trump with respect to the rally.”

So according to Jones, Trump was fully involved in the planning of the rally and the violent events that took place afterward. While Jones has been known to lie almost as much as Trump, it is unlikely that he would fabricate a falsehood that implicated his hero in criminal activities. If Jones is ever to be believed, it is about these matters, wherein he asserted that…

“…finally Trump has done the right thing…He is now calling on We the People to take action and show our numbers…This is the most important call to action on domestic soil since Paul Revere and his ride in 1776. The time for games is over. The time for action is now. […] If you allow this multinational consortium to steal this election, you have committed not just us, but yourselves to a living hell.”

It is significant that Jones cited Paul Revere’s ride in his “call to action.” Revere was tasked with alerting the colonists that the time for violent revolution had arrived. Which is exactly what Jones and Trump were trying to do. Jones explicitly said that “[Trump] is calling on Americans to march on D.C. to save our country from a foreign takeover.” That doesn’t sound like a pitch for a peaceful protest, does it?

Trump’s response to the new batch of subpoenas was typically deranged and drenched with hyperbole. In a tweet (posted by his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill), Trump ranted that…

“The Democrats are feasting on January 6th, with no Republicans on the Unselect Committee (Cheney and Kinzinger are not Republicans!) but they are refusing to even discuss the root cause of that protest, which was the insurrection that took place during the November 3rd Presidential Election. We had a Rigged and Stolen Election in our Country, the proof is voluminous and everywhere, but the Democrats refuse to even mention or discuss it. It’s called Cancel Culture, and until that is done, this Country will never heal!”

This is reflective of the dementia-addled Trump stuck in broken record mode. And it is well stocked with steaming bullshittery. First of all, Trump doesn’t get to decide who is Republican. Second, the “root cause of the protest” was the “Big Lie” that he and Fox News and other defilers of democracy have been spewing for months. Third, his tedious claim that a valid election affirmed by all fifty states, and more than sixty court cases, was the real insurrection is both ludicrous and dangerous. And finally, Trump’s claim that “the proof [of election fraud] is voluminous and everywhere,” would make more sense if after a year he could actually provide some.

The House January 6th Committee has a great burden to hold the perpetrators of the insurrection accountable. It is an unprecedented task for the Congress, and is hampered by the fact that Republican members remain devoted to the Cult of Trump. But the Committee is benefitting from the big mouths of the conspirators like Jones and Stone. And, of course, the biggest mouth of all, Donald Trump. Their ignorant and arrogant public confessions may provide the best opportunity for justice to be served.

Ted Cruz Gets Fact-Checked While Advancing Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ on Face the Nation

Some Republican Trump-fluffers seem to be impervious to shame. They persist in making preposterous statements that contrast profoundly with reality, even after their lies have been thoroughly debunked. And no one has a greater ability to cast off being publicly disgraced than Sen. Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz, Donald Trump

Cruz, after all, is best known for abandoning his freezing constituents in Texas to take a vacation in sunny Cancun. More recently he was shot down in a blistering Twitter war with his congressional colleagues.

Undeterred, Cruz was interviewed Sunday on CBS’s Face the Nation by Margaret Brennan (video below). When the subject of Donald Trump inciting the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. came up, Cruz sought to take a superficially rational stand against violence. “If you’re right-wing, left-wing, or have no ideology at all,” Cruz began, “If you commit an act of violence, if you assault a police officer, if you’re violent against anyone, you should be prosecuted and go to jail.”

True to form, Cruz is merely mouthing what he believes is a politically correct stance against violence. And his talking points were utterly disingenuous and marred by insinuating that the violence on that day could have been committed by either right or left wingers. The truth is that, while the halls of congress were still stained with blood, Cruz made a plea to sweep the sedition under the rug and hold nobody accountable saying “We must come together and put this anger and division behind us.”

That is not exactly an appeal for justice to be served to the insurrectionists who stormed Congress and threatened its members, as well as injuring more than 140 police officers. But Cruz was just getting started. He followed up his anti-violence lecture with yet another endorsement of Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged.” Which led to the following exchange with Brennan.

Cruz: We right now have a substantial chunk of our country that has real doubts about the integrity of the election. And if we had had a credible electoral commission do an emergency audit, it would have enhanced faith in democracy. But instead Democrats and a lot of the press decided to just engage in incendiary rhetoric rather than acknowledge voter fraud is real, it is a problem, and the allegations of voter fraud needed to be examined on the merits.
Brennan: Senator there is no evidence of fraud that would have drawn the outcome of the election into doubt. You know that.

What Cruz purposefully fails to mention is that the “substantial chunk” of Trump chumps who have delusional “doubts about the integrity of the election,” was created by liars like Cruz himself, with an assist from Fox News. But Cruz went on to pat himself on the back for lobbying for a bipartisan electoral commission to study the wholly fictitious allegations of voter fraud. Maybe he would also like to form a commission to study the flatness of the Earth, because a substantial chunk of Americans believe in that too.

Cruz’s suggestion that an audit would have calmed everyone’s post-election jitters was already proven to be bogus. When the Arizona fraudit by the rabidly partisan Cyber Ninjas was released showing that Biden did indeed win the election, Trump had a hissy fit and his cult followers pretended it didn’t exist.

It was Trump who continued to spew the “incendiary rhetoric” that led to the January 6th insurrection. And contrary to his sudden interest in peace and bipartisan commissions, Cruz voted against the one that was proposed to study the Capitol Hill riots. So much for his claim that anyone who committed violence be prosecuted and jailed. That was just another falsehood on behalf of his Dear Leader.

Crybaby Trump Throws Tantrum Over McConnell Plan to Nix Him from Biden Inauguration

Donald Trump has to regard the last couple of years as among the worst of his life. Not only was he impeached twice, an unprecedented achievement, but he also suffered a humiliating loss to Joe Biden for the presidency. Biden, you’ll recall, is the candidate that Trump maligned as a senile communist, but still couldn’t beat him.

Donald Trump, King

As it turns out, 2021 got off to a horrible start to Trump. In the very first week he incited a hostile insurrection in Washington, D.C., sending his StormTrumpers to assault the Capitol and threaten the lives of America’s representatives in Congress as they sought to carry out their constitutional duties.

It was a day that Trump cherished, describing it in the new book, Betrayal, by Jonathan Karl as “a very beautiful time with extremely loving and friendly people.” Indeed, it was the same “beautiful time” when fanatical Trump rioters broke through doors, shattered windows, and left more than 140 officers injured. They were the same “loving and friendly people” that Trump embraced rapturously, even as they were committing violent crimes against people and historically treasured property.

With another revelation from Karl’s book we now learn that Trump was not especially welcome at the inauguration for President Biden. Karl writes that Sen. Mitch McConnell had other plans for Trump:

“The then-Senate majority leader sought to have Trump disinvited from Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Jan. 20 […] According to Karl, McConnell ‘felt he could not give Trump another opportunity to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power.'”

Karl goes on to disclose that only after Trump heard about McConnell’s intentions did he fire off a tweet (the very last one before his Twitter account was permanently suspended) saying that he had decided not to attend.

Trump tweet

Naturally, Karl’s account of these events sent Trump into near hysterics. He rushed to post a tweet (via his Twitter ban defying spokes-shill) to refute Karl’s version of what took place. And of course, Trump reimagined it all in a way that put him in a more favorable, albeit fictional, light:

“From Election Day, November 3rd, the day I realized that the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged, I would never have agreed to go to Joe Biden’s Inauguration. This decision was mine, and mine alone. The old broken-down Crow, Mitch McConnell, had nothing to do with it. According to third-rate reporter Jonathan Karl of ABC Fake News, McConnell unsuccessfully tried getting a letter signed by others for me not to go. This was nothing I ever heard of and actually, if he ever did get it signed, I probably would have held my nose and gone. The Election was rigged, the facts are clear, and Mitch McConnell did nothing. He was probably too busy working on deals with China for his wife and family!”

So Trump is, in effect, validating “old broken-down Crow” McConnell’s concerns about Trump being likely to “disrupt the peaceful transfer of power.” He’s admitting that he didn’t regard the election as valid, so his presence could only serve to fuel more violence. And he further implied that, were he to go, it would only be to spite McConnell, not to respect the principles of democracy as enshrined in the Constitution.

Everything that Trump has done and said since then affirms his disgust for democracy and the rights of free people to govern themselves. To the contrary, Trump has been an avid advocate of the authoritarianism that he aspires to attain for himself. The American people better make sure that he fails – again.

Liz Cheney Rips Trump and his GOP Cult as ‘Willing Hostages to this Dangerous and Irrational Man’

There is, perhaps, no better representative of rock-ribbed conservatism in the United States Congress than Liz Cheney. She is a staunch advocate for the farthest right wing of the Republican Party, and just within the past week she voted against the Biden infrastructure bill and the John Lewis Voting rights Act.

Donald Trump, Fox News, QAnon

However, to her credit, she has resisted the lure of the cult of Donald Trump and his anti-American, authoritarian aspirations. Cheney had the courage to appear on Fox News and denounce Tucker Carlson as a purveyor of lies. and yesterday she gave a speech at a GOP fundraiser that was as good, or better, than any trouncing of Trump by the most fervent Democrat (although Adam Schiff sure scores points here). It was so good that it hardly needs any commentary. So enjoy (video below)

“At this moment, when it matters most, we are confronting a domestic threat that we have never faced before. A former president who’s attempting to unravel the foundations of our Constitutional Republic, aided by political leaders who have made themselves willing hostages to this dangerous and irrational man.

“Just last night, former president Trump was invited by House Republican leaders to be the keynote speaker at our annual large fundraising dinner. At the dinner, he reportedly said once again that the insurrection was on November 3rd, and that the events on January 6th – when a violent mob invaded the Capitol in an effort to overturn the will of the American people and stop the constitutional process of the counting of electoral votes – that those events were a protest. That they were justified.

“Political leaders who sit silent in the face of these false and dangerous claims are aiding the former president who is at war with the rule of law and the Constitution. When our constitutional order is threatened, as it is now, rising above partisanship is not simply an aspiration. It is an obligation. An obligation of every one of us.

“I love my party. I love its history. I love its principles. But I love my country more. I know this nation needs a Republican Party that is based on truth. One that puts forward our ideals and our policies based on substance. One that is willing to reject the former president’s lies. One that is willing to tell the truth. But millions of Americans have been tragically misled by former president Trump, who continues, to this day, to use language that he knows provoked violence on January 6th.”

What she said. Cheney’s righteous condemnation of Trump and her Republican colleagues is both laudable and troubling. It’s laudable for its honesty and clear sightedness about Trump and the threat that he posed and continues to pose. It’s troubling because it exposes the depths to which the Republican Party has fallen.

The Republican Party is morally bankrupt and irredeemably corrupt. They are worse than “willing hostages.” While they may feel pressure to succumb to Trumpism, they are actually active accomplices.

Cheney acknowledges that when she says that they are “aiding the former president who is at war with the rule of law and the Constitution.” And she is spot on when she observes that he continues to “use language that he knows provoked violence.” And if he isn’t brought to justice he will get his demented wish for even more violence, and worse, an end to the American experiment in democracy.

Liz Cheney Calls Tucker Carlson’s ‘False Flag’ Lies ‘Un-American’ and ‘Dangerous’ – On Fox News!

Last week the Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, outdid himself by presenting an elaborate propaganda video about Donald Trump’s January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. Carlson’s crocumentary, “Patriot Purge” (or as CNN’s Jim Acosta retitled it, “Proud Boy Porn”,) was riddled with flagrant falsehoods and nauseating exaltations of the seditious Capitol rioters as heroes.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, STFU

Carlson sought to absolve Trump’s violent crusaders, and even worse, to justify them, by alleging that the whole thing was a “false flag” operation orchestrated by the FBI, something he has been yammering about for months. And his Fox News produced propaganda pic was universally rejected as garbage.

On Sunday Carlson took another hit from a staunchly conservative member of Congress, Liz Cheney. She was interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday where she expressed her opinion of Carlson’s wankery:

Wallace: There is talk now that January 6th was a “false flag” operation. that it was a case of liberals and the “deep state” setting up conservatives and Trump supporters. Is there any truth to that?
Cheney: None at all. You know, it’s the same kind of thing that you hear from people who say that 9/11 was an inside job, for example. It is un-American to be spreading those kinds of lies, and they are lies. And we have an obligation that goes beyond partisanship, an obligation that we share – Democrats and Republicans together – to make sure that we understand every single piece of the facts about what happened that day and to make sure the people who did it are held accountable. And to call it a false flag operation and spread those kind lies is dangerous.

Cheney has been a reliable voice of reason from within a Republican Party dominated by Trump cult followers and brazenly dishonest purveyors of partisan bullpucky. She is a member of the House Select Committee investigating January 6th, and she rejects Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him.

Cheney didn’t mince words in her appraisal of Carlson. She openly and aptly denounced him as “un-American” and “dangerous.” That said, it is still a bit jarring to hear her righteous condemnation of Carlson, and to hear it on the same network that sponsors his deceitful disinformation. Cheney couldn’t have chosen a better platform to reveal Carlson’s scumbaggery. Carlson, however, is an easily triggered crybaby who frequently lashes out at his critics. So it will be interesting to see if he attacks Fox News or Chris Wallace for hosting this interview.

On the same program, White House Senior Advisor, Cedric Richmond, was asked by Fox’s Bill Hemmer about a blatantly partisan question that Fox’s Peter Doocy asked President Biden. Doocy’s question callously suggested that migrant families might be incentivized to come to the U.S. and have their children taken away in order to get compensated financially. Richmond replied that…

“The question was from a Fox reporter asking about whether compensation for being separated and losing a child would be an incentive to come to America. And what he was saying, that was an absurd question from the beginning. No one is coming somewhere to lose their child, to be separated from their loved one. And the question is so insensitive, disrespectful that that’s what he was commenting to. And I would ask the question of you, whether you support that?”

So Fox News got called out on Fox News twice in the same day. That isn’t going to make much difference in the great scheme of things. Fox will continue to be the primary media mouthpiece for ultra-rightist politicians and policies. But it’s encouraging to see these rare crumbs of truth slip through their conservative filter from time to time.

Tucker Carlson Throws a Paranoid Fit Over the WaPo Exposé on the January 6th Insurrection

Fox News Senior White Nationalist, Tucker Carlson, has been slipping deeper into a psychotic swamp of conspiracy crackpottery in recent weeks. He has affirmed his total indoctrination into the cult of Donald Trump by subscribing to the lies that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen,” that immigrants are plotting to take over America, and that the COVID pandemic was a hoax.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson

Most recently Carlson has gotten on board with Trump’s disinformation about the January 6th insurrection in Washington, D.C. He even produced a crock documentary advancing the ludicrous theory that the storming of the Capitol was a “false flag”operation orchestrated by the “Deep State.” Carlson released a trailer for his “Patriot Purge” propaganda this week (or as CNN’s Jim Acosta calls it, “Proud Boy Porn”) that is rife with blatant lies and purposefully incendiary rhetoric intended to incite further violence.

However, on Monday Carlson demonstrated that he is also suffering from an acute case of narcissistic paranoia. He appeared on Fox and Friends to promote his crockumentary with fellow Fox wingnut, Brian Kilmeade. Carlson began with an inadvertently truthful statement that “The intentional creation of a dishonest explanation for that day began within hours.” Indeed, that’s precisely what Carlson and the rest of his Fox News comrades did. Then, getting to the meat of his lunacy, he declared that “There was no evidence it was an organized insurrection, an attempt to overcome the U.S. government.”

Never mind that the organized assault on the government was all televised live. And forget that on January 6th Trump was still president in charge of the Justice Department and the FBI that Carlson says is guilty of infiltrating the ranks of his own rioting supporters. And for additional confirmation that it was the result of a carefully planned coup attempt, the Washington Post published an in depth investigation into what happened on January 6th, and the clandestine activities of Trump and his co-conspirators that led up to it.

In response to the Washington Post article, Carlson expressed his utterly delusional belief that it was a reaction to the trailer for his video fictionalization of the Capitol riots. In this abridged transcript of his exchange with Kilemeade (full video below) he asserted that…

Carlson: Several months ago, we sent a group of reporters out to really forensically dig into this. What happened? What are the facts of that day? […] The Washington Post put 75 reporters – 75 reporters – on a rebuttal piece to our documentary, which they hadn’t seen.” […]

Kilmeade: Tucker, as you point out too, the FBI will infiltrate groups whether it’s the mob or Al Qaeda and they’ll try to be one of them and unwind the plot before it takes place. Do you think maybe, perhaps, and maybe you don’t want to give away your series, you find indications that the FBI was actually pushing for this invasion?
Carlson: There were people working for the FBI in the crowd that day. We said that months ago on our nighttime show, hysteria ensued, it turns out to be true. […] The Washington Post spent 75 reporters time rebutting a trailer tells you they don’t want you to know what actually happened. They’re hysterical

Carlson did accuse the FBI of “orchestrating” the violence against Congress months ago. It was just as crazy and unfounded then, as it is now. But he goes even further down the rabid hole with his bizarre claim that the Washington Post’s article was a rebuttal to his pro-domestic terrorism video. The truth is that The Post was working on their story for months before Carlson even contemplated his project. How Carlson can suggest with his confused and constipated smirk that The Post had him in mind when researching and writing their elaborate exposé is laughable. It’s evidence of how profoundly disturbed, self-obsessed, and racked with irrational fear of persecution Carlson is. Does that remind you of anyone?

Speaking of Donald Trump, he had his own reaction to The Post’s article, which they would only publish a portion of, saying that it was…

“…a lengthy written response that included a series of unrelated, inflammatory claims that The Post is not publishing in full. […] He disputed The Post’s investigation as ‘fake news’ and falsely cast people who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6 as ‘agitators not associated with President Trump.’ The statement repeated Trump’s false claim that the 2020 election was rigged.”

So Trump couldn’t control his Liar’s Tourette’s Syndrome and The Post justifiably condensed it. But Trump did manage to express his tediously familiar, anti-constitutional view that “there is no greater threat to America than leftist journalists and the Fake News.” Because he can’t open his mouth without that canard coming out. And he confirmed that he and Carlson are both suffering from the same sort of neuroses. Apparently it’s going around in Trump World.

CNN’s Jim Acosta Renames the Tucker Carlson, Fox News False Flag Flick: ‘Proud Boy Porn’

This week Tucker Carlson announced the premiere of his Fox News produced crocumentary, “Patriot Purge.” And judging by the trailer that he released, it is a cornucopia of conspiracy crackpottery. Carlson is promoting the program as “The True Story Behind January 6.” Which, of course, is a lie. What it is is rancid wingnut code intended to incite further violence.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, QAnon

Carlson’s “propaganda flick” compiles much of what he has said in recent weeks on his primetime Fox News Hour of Ultra-Rightist Rancor into an indigestible pile of manure. His focus is on his baseless accusation that the January 6th insurrection was a “false flag” operation orchestrated by the FBI and other agencies of the mythical “Deep State.”

On Saturday afternoon CNN’s Jim Acosta delivered a scathing review of Carlson’s demagoguery (video below). It was so complete and accurate that it hardly needs any commentary. So without further ado, Acosta said that…

“The reason why federal investigators and millions of Americans are terrified by right-wing violence in this country is because it keeps happening. and Tucker Carlson is inciting more of it. Tucker is calling his propaganda flick “The Patriot Purge!” It’s nothing more than Proud Boy porn. And the worst part is that a major corporation in America, Fox News, is bankrolling it.

[For more on Carlson’s lie-riddled agitprop, see this: Breaking Down the Crocumentary By Tucker Carlson that Glorifies ‘False Flag’ Insurrection.]

“Now Fox is insisting that Tucker’s manifesto will only be seen on its streaming service, Fox Nation. Please. No matter how you slice it the Murdoch family is cashing in as American democracy is being set ablaze. The fact that the Murdoch-run Wall Street Journal just ran a letter to the editor peddling the “Big Lie” again is hardly the worst thing that they’ve done this week. And that’s saying a lot.”

[Fox News pretending that they aren’t responsible for what Carlson does on Fox Nation is precious. Fox Nation is the streaming subsidiary of Fox News. And they are using Carlson’s seditionist sermonizing to drive up subscriptions to the service. What’s more, at least some of Carlson’s “false flag” screed will surely be aired on Fox News]

“As the Anti-Defamation League wrote in a letter to Fox executive chairman and CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, how many more people need to die? My question to the Murdochs is this: Why are you doing this to us? Why are you doing this to America? You came to this country and built a media empire. Isn’t that enough? During Trump you became American State TV. Now you seem like ‘End of America State TV.’ People like to say the Murdochs, ‘Oh, they’re just like that HBO show, Succession.’ Close. It’s more like Secession. The Murdochs and Tucker Carlson, their primetime pyromaniac, appear to be hell bent on dragging this country into a civil war. Jefferson Davis would be proud.”

The only part of Acosta’s monologue that is slightly off base is his assumption that the Murdochs came to the U.S. with intentions of building a media empire and nothing else. The truth is that Rupert Murdoch was a right-wing propagandist in Britain, and in his homeland, Australia, before that. So no, building a media empire in the U.S. would not be enough for him and his family.

If only civil war and secession were what they wanted. But it is clear that they want much more. They do not want a splintered America. They want to rule all of it. And with a puppet seated at the top that they can control. Which explains why they got behind an ignorant, unprincipled, business failure like Donald Trump in the first place.

BOO! Trump’s Spooky Stab at Burying White House Documents is So Stupid it’s Scary

This Halloween promises to be as frightening as any in modern times. That’s primarily due to the persistent presence of an orange, pumpkin-headed monster, Donald Trump. Nearly a year after his political demise, he remains a haunting figure from beyond the electoral grave who inexorably insists on terrorizing the nation with loathsome lies and abhorrent, authoritarian aspirations. He’s even frightening his own supporters into not voting.

Donald Trump, Fox News, Halloween

Although fear defines the season – and is the favored tactic of Trump and his cadre of demons – on this All Hallows Eve The Trump was dealt a blow by the National Archives. Responding to his lawsuit demanding that hundreds of documents from his occupation of the White House be suppressed, the administrator of the Archives concluded that it does not meet any legal standard for executive privilege and the materials can be dispensed to the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection (which Fox News goblin, Tucker Carlson, thinks is a “false flag” affair). As reported by CNN

“Specifics about former President Donald Trump’s efforts to keep secret the support from his White House for overturning his loss of the 2020 election were revealed in late-night court filings that detail more than 700 pages of handwritten notes, draft documents and daily logs his top advisers kept related to January 6.” […]

“The records Trump wants to keep secret include handwritten memos from his chief of staff about January 6, call logs of the then-President and former Vice President Mike Pence and White House visitor records, additional court records revealed early Saturday morning.”

While most constitutional experts agree that a former president has no claim to executive privilege, it is notable that the documents referenced herein wouldn’t be protected by executive privilege anyway. That privilege is applicable only to the official business of the president. But these are political documents that are related to a campaign and Trump’s anti-democratic efforts to cling to power. They are also potentially evidence of crimes and criminal conspiracies, which cannot be shielded by executive privilege.

The chilling disclosure by the Archives reveal that the documents that Trump seeks to smother include White House visitor logs and calls between Trump and Pence, all centered around January 6th. It further affirms that Trump’s intent is to conceal evidence against him and his role in the Capitol Hill riots by his glassy-eyed cult disciples. Separately, there is documentary proof that pro-Trump attorney John Eastman (who authored the infamous “coup memo”) sought to cast blame on Pence for the violent insurrection.

A court will hear Trump’s complaint next week. But whatever the outcome we can’t relax our guard. The monstrous Trump rampage against America and democracy is going to be plaguing us for the foreseeable future. For the time being we are all trapped in this House of Horrors. But fear not. Trump’s threats are mostly impotent expressions of weakness and the dread he harbors of being held accountable for his crimes. He will, in the end, be vanquished by his own frailties. Then the only thing we’ll have to worry is the sequel.

Breaking Down the Crocumentary By Tucker Carlson that Glorifies ‘False Flag’ Insurrection

Tucker Carlson and Fox News are at it again. Not satisfied with disseminating deadly disinformation about the coronavirus that has led to tens (hundreds?) of thousands of preventable deaths, or advancing the racist “white replacement theory” to malign immigrants, or undermining American democracy by aiding and abetting Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged,” Carlson and Company are now exalting domestic terrorists and white supremacists.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Dictator

Carlson is promoting a crock documentary that purports to tell “The True Story Behind 1/6” That, of course, is a lie. The title sequence is crammed with ludicrous talking point subtitles alluding to “The War on Terror 2.0,” and “The Plot Against the People,” and a “Patriot Purge” All of that wingnut sloganeering is deliberately inflammatory code intended to incite further violence. As are the opening frames of the trailer that includes video of the police shooting domestic terrorist Ashli Babbitt as she and her militant comrades are attacking law enforcement officers and smashing through the glass door entrance to the Capitol.

The video goes on to feature a quote by Darren Beattie, who left the Trump administration after he was caught at a white nationalist conference. In the video Beattie says that “The domestic war on terror is here. It’s coming after half of the country.” Which is nonsense because not only is there no “domestic war” on these rightist kooks, they don’t comprise anywhere near half the country.

That’s followed by Carlson fear mongering that American soldiers are preparing an assault on citizens here in the U.S. Carlson says that “The helicopters have left Afghanistan. Now they’ve landed here at home.” That in turn is followed by a disembodied voice warning that “The left is hunting the right. Sticking them in Guantanamo Bay, for American citizens, leaving them there to rot.” It goes without saying that that is flagrant fiction. No American is incarcerated at Gitmo. Nor has anyone been waterboarded as is implied by the visual in the video.

Next up is a clip of President Biden saying correctly that “Terrorism from white supremacy is the most lethal threat to to the homeland. […] Not Al Qaeda. White supremacy.” This was an assessment made by the Department of Homeland Security in September of 2020, during the Trump administration. However, Carlson is mocking Biden as his words play over archive footage of a KKK parade.

Finally, the trailer concludes with a bizarre and baseless allegation by a disgraced former Army captain, Emily Rainey, who is being investigated for her participation in the insurrection. She says that “False flags have happened in this country, one of which may have been January 6.” Naturally, there is no evidence whatsoever to support this reckless accusation. But it is one that Carlson has made before, specifically charging the FBI with “orchestrating” the violence. The background visual for this quote is footage of the January 6th insurrection. That segues into a shot of helicopters ominously approaching the Capitol dome with the Battle Hymn of the Republic playing…“Glory, glory hallelujah. His truth is marching on.” What do you suppose that is implying?

The key question raised by Carlson’s propaganda pic is, how can the insurrectionists be both patriotic protesters fighting to MAGA, and false flag provocateurs conspiring against freedom? In order to follow his logic you would have to believe that the same mob that stormed the Capitol are simultaneously heroes and traitors. It’s a paradox that can only reside in the warped mind of a Trump cultist.

This abomination is not just the work of Tucker Carlson. The whole of the Fox News enterprise is responsible, including the network’s CEO Suzanne Scott, president Jay Wallace, and corporate masters Lachlan and Rupert Murdoch. Their culpability was acknowledged by the two Republican members of the House Select Committee Investigating the January 6th Insurrection:

Liz Cheney: “It appears that Fox News is giving Tucker Carlson a platform to spread the same type of lies that provoked violence on January 6. As Fox News knows, the election wasn’t stolen and January 6 was not a ‘false flag’ operation,”

Adam Kinzinger: “Anyone working for @FoxNews must speak out. This is disgusting. It appears @foxnews isn’t even pretending anymore.”

Don’t hold your breath. Fox News is not going to “speak out” or take any action against Carlson because they agree with him 100%. This program isn’t a rogue operation by Carlson. It is fully supported by, paid for, and proudly broadcast by Fox News, with the approval of its editors, executives, and owners. And they are as responsible for the harm it causes as Carlson. But there is something you can do about it: UnFox My Cable Box!
