Fox News Producer Warned Network to Stop Putting Hosts on Air to Spew Election Conspiracy Lies

It’s been almost two years since Joe Biden decisively defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. And for all of that time Trump has stubbornly insisted that he was the real winner and that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. Never mind that he couldn’t provide a shred of evidence to support his claims and that he lost dozens of lawsuits in a futile and delusional effort to cling to power.

Trump’s belligerent dishonesty has had numerous deleterious effects on the nation. Most notably, it led directly to a deadly assault on Congress by his cult followers attempting to stage a violent coup and obstruct the peaceful transfer of power. His relentless lying about the election contributed to undermining faith in democracy and fomenting fear and future violence by glassy-eyed StormTrumpers. It also resulted in billion dollar lawsuits against his Ministry of Disinformation – aka Fox News – for spreading election fraud conspiracy theories.

The case of one of the plaintiffs against Fox News, Dominion Voting Systems, has been progressing steadily. It has compelled depositions from Fox News hosts such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs, and Jeanine Pirro. And in new a report it has been revealed that the network was well aware that their hosts were disseminating false allegations that Dominion’s voting machines were designed to suppress Trump votes and/or switch them to Biden. NPR reports that…

“The November 2020 email from an anguished Fox News news producer to colleagues sent up a flare amid a fusillade of false claims. The producer warned: Fox cannot let host Jeanine Pirro back on the air. She is pulling conspiracy theories from dark corners of the Web to justify then-President Donald Trump’s lies that the election had been stolen from him.”

Fox News not only let Pirro back on the air, they promoted her to a co-host of Fox’s “The Five,” a top rated daily program. They also continued to allow Hannity, Carlson, Bartiromo, and many others on the air to spread Trump’s lies. NPR continued to say that…

“Dominion’s attorneys have obtained emails, texts, WhatsApp messages and more, documenting how the network’s executives and journalists behaved and acted behind the scenes, as well as determining what they actually knew about the claims, according to three people with knowledge of the litigation. Witnesses have been pressed about the degree to which the Murdochs and Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott were involved in making editorial decisions or kept in the loop.”

When NPR sought a comment from Fox News, they said only that they “were covering the most newsworthy story of that period — the president of the United States claiming election fraud.” Of course that is also a lie. The Fox hosts were not simply reporting what Trump had said. They explicitly alleged that the election was riddled with fraud and that Dominion was among those responsible.

Defamation lawsuits rest on the ability of the plaintiff to show that the defendant knew, or should have known, that what they were saying was false and that they acted with malice. The new evidence does a pretty good job of establishing that. Not that it was necessary. Fox News had been pushing the election fraud lies despite the fact that even members of Trump’s own administration had validated the election as legitimate.

They included Christopher Wray, FBI Director; Benjamin Hovland, of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission; director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Chris Krebs; and even Attorney General Bill Barr. Barr went so far as to tell ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl (in his recent book “Betrayal”) that “My suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bullshit.”

With all of the legal tribulations bearing down on Trump and his media cohorts, it isn’t surprising that he is becoming ever more unhinged. And much of that lunacy is manifesting in his preposterous excuses for having stolen and hoarded classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago bunker. Look for Trump to sink farther into this abyss of desperation of his own making as the prospect of his being held accountable gets closer.

UPDATE: The lawsuit against Fox News by Smartmatic, a voting software company, is also progressing. A judge just ordered Fox “to start turning over files from a pool of millions of documents that the voting machine company demanded.”

Update II: NPR reports that Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott knew that the election fraud lies the network was promulgating were false. This helps substantiate the defamation case by Dominion against Fox. Scott told her staff, referring to election deniers, that “We can’t give the crazies an inch.” They did anyway. And still do.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News Says People Who Don’t Vote In Person Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Vote

The 2022 midterm elections are now only 78 days away. And Republicans are getting nervous considering the trending of polls that show Democrats gaining ground in both the House and the Senate races coming up.

Among the reasons for the Democrats’ optimism are the legislative victories they have enjoyed, passing bills on infrastructure, economic relief, healthcare, tax reform, climate change, gun safety, and more. President Biden is also presiding over lowering gas prices and easing inflation.

What’s more, the House committee investigating the January 6th insurrection is having a profound impact on Donald Trump’s already toxic reputation. For his part, Trump isn’t helping himself by having stolen sensitive national security materials from the White House and hiding them at his Mar-a-Lago bunker.

Consequently, Republicans need to fortify their electoral flank by poisoning the political environment with fallacious allegations of fraud before a single vote has been cast. And naturally, the GOP’s Ministry of Disinformation, Fox News, is taking the lead.

On Friday’s episode of Tucker Carlson’s program he had a segment on the United States Postal Service, which he characterized as engaging in a nefarious plot of some sort. He warned that…

“The Postal Service is now actually taking an active and explicit role in our elections, but not on behalf of Trump. They have created a dedicated division to ‘handle election mail’ ahead of the 2020 [sic] midterms.”

OMG! The mail meanies are scheming to “handle election mail,” and worst of all, it is “not on behalf of Trump!” Even more alarming is that they are traveling back in time to meddle with the 2020 election. Carlson went on to foment more fear, asking…

“Why is there any mail-in balloting? If you can’t be bothered to get to the polls, why do you have a right to participate in democracy? I don’t understand. It’s just an invitation to fraud. they support it because it allows fraud. Why are Republicans putting up with this?”

Tucker Carlson is against democracy plain and simple:

So Carlson has an array of citizens whom he wants to stop from voting. They include the elderly, and the disabled, and soldiers, and students, and travelers. It also includes every resident of Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, where they have only mail-in voting. And Carlson’s guest, conspiracy crackpot Chuck Devore, weighed in saying that…

“I don’t think people should be trusting the Postal service with their mail-in ballots […because…] you can send people to the house of voters and ‘help’ them with their ballots to make sure that they vote for the right people.”

Never mind that there is no evidence of this happening. It is likely something that Republicans do, so they assume that Democrats are doing it as well. There is also no evidence of mail-in voter fraud outside of a scattering of incidents that, as noted, usually involve Republican vote scammers.

The truth is that Carlson, Fox News, and the Republican Party know that Democrats are more likely to avail themselves of mail-in and early voting. That’s partly because Donald Trump has demonized the practice and made his cult followers suspicious of it. He did this despite the findings of his own administration that concluded there was no widespread voter fraud.

Trump, of course, is not above hypocrisy. While he frequently demands that only in-person voting should be permitted, he himself votes by mail. And he even advocates it for others when he thinks it will benefit him.

It’s a good thing that Carlson doesn’t get to decide who can and cannot vote. Unfortunately, there are too many GOP state legislatures who can decide. And they have been working tirelessly to suppress the votes of Democrats through gerrymandering and oppressive election processes.

As a result, Democrats have a huge burden to carry if they want to realize the gains that recent polling is showing for them. So those polls must not be an excuse to celebrate and relax. They must be motivation to work harder than ever to get patriotic Americans to vote on November 8th and save our democracy. And as an added incentive, the more people who vote by mail, the more Tucker Carlson (and Trump, and Fox News, and the GOP) will cry about being the losers that they are.

Spawnee Donny’s Fiancé, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Exalts ‘His Excellence’ Donald Trump in Maniacal Rant

So far, August has been a devastating month for Trump and his cult followers. A brief summary of his latest flops include…

In the face of this onslaught of catastrophes, Trump and his defenders are circling their wagons and pretending that everything is hunky-dory. Trump even thinks that the FBI scandal has boosted the prospects of his Republican confederates. And he’s not the only one.

Don Jr’s fiancé, Kimberly Guilfoyle, visited the pro-Trump propaganda network, Newsmax, on Tuesday and, in her inimitable “the best is yet to come“ fashion, belted out a celebratory spiel that exceeded all standards of sanity, even for her. She was so over the top that even host Rob Schmitt tried – and failed – to cut her off (hysterical video below). Guilfoyle raged that…

“People love president Trump and they want him back in the White House. That’s what this is about. Time and time again president Trump has been exonerated. They have been pulling this stuff on him for six years, starting with illegally wiretapping him.”

There is so much wrong with that that it requires a bit of rational review. First of all, the only people who “love” Trump are the brainwashed disciples who have abandoned critical thinking and any adherence to truthfulness. And the only people who want him back in the White House are power hungry and/or frightened Republicans, and shadowy figures with phone numbers in Moscow.

Secondly, Trump has never been “exonerated.” In fact, he is a seething cauldron of guilt for crimes ranging from operating corrupt charities and universities, to bank and tax fraud, to election tampering, to obstruction of justice, to witness intimidation, and most recently to mishandling classified documents and lying to the FBI.

Furthermore, Guilfoyle is regurgitating the long ago debunked nonsense that Trump had been “illegally wiretapped.” It never happened, and was even refuted by Trump’s own Justice Department way back in 2017. That, however, didn’t stop Trump from lying about it some more as recently as February of this year. But Guilfoyle was just getting started. She went on to say that…

“[Trump] is singly the most persecuted person in American political history. People who are Democrats, Independents, Libertarians – whatever you want to say – they’re all coming out in droves to say they support the president. So all they have done is just magnify his excellence 10x more, to the point where the American people are begging, literally I see people every day begging him to run again in 2024. And we would only be so lucky as a country because he’s the only thing standing between them and us.”

Bragging that her sugardaddy-in-law is the “most persecuted person in American political history,” isn’t the defense that she thinks it is. Rather, it points to the abundance of criminal allegations swirling around him. And if Guilfoyle really believes that Democrats are “coming out in droves to say they support the [former] president,” she’s even more cognitively impaired than Trump is. Which would also explain her jarring pairing of the words “his excellence” in a sentence referring to Trump.

What’s more, Guilfoyle is just fanning the flames of cultism with her ludicrous assertion that people are “begging” Trump to run again. In fact, a recent poll shows that only 39% of registered voters expressed any such interest in another Trump candidacy. Likewise, she is elevating him to superhero status by claiming that he alone is “standing between them and us,” whoever they are. As for another Trump term in office, he has just provided a preview of what his agenda would be. And it isn’t pretty…

LOL: Trump Thinks the FBI Search of His Mar-a-Lago Bunker Has Boosted GOP Electoral Prospects

If there is one thing that we can always rely on, it’s that Donald Trump will push a grossly distorted version of reality for any event that has exposed his faults or fallings, or might have negative consequences for him if viewed honestly. This tendency on Trump’s part to reshape reality can manifest in episodes as absurd as his using a sharpie to redraw a weather map to conform to the lie he told about a hurricane’s path.

Last week the FBI executed a legally issued search warrant on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Florida. Ever since, Trump and his media mouthpieces have been attempting to spin the search as an abuse of power by an out of control administration. Never mind that they have been utterly incapable of explaining why Trump had numerous boxes of classified materials that he denied having and refused to return. And their stream of bizarre excuses got more outlandish with each new attempt to exonerate Trump and demonize law enforcement.

After having failed pitifully to deflect attention from his criminal activities, Trump is now trying to claim that they were justified because they allegedly have had a beneficial effect on the electoral prospects of his fellow Republicans. He posted on TRUTH Social, his miserably failing Twitter ripoff, that…

“Republicans could win many additional seats, both in the House & Senate, because of the strong backlash over the raid at Mat-a-Lago. Polls are showing that some lost Republican territory over the last number of weeks has been more than made up with the unannounced Break In by the FBI, which should never have happened!”

First of all, Trump needs to learn how to spell the name of his home/golf resort. It isn’t MAT-a-Lago. More to the point, he is either reading some very obscure polls that can’t be found online, or he’s making up the polling data in his comment. Here are some results from a more reputable source that shows Trump’s endorsed senate candidates trailing nationwide in swing states.

In Pennsylvania Fetterman is beating Oz by double digits. Same thing for Kelly over Masters in Arizona. Plus Ryan is ahead of Vance in Ohio, Warnock is ahead of Walker in Georgia, Demings just pulled ahead of Rubio in Florida, and Beasley is tied with Budd in North Carolina. So where is there any evidence of the backlash that Trump is yammering about?

What’s more, a new poll by POLITICO/Morning Consult shows that more Americans are supportive of the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago. A plurality said that there was evidence that Trump committed a crime. A majority (54%) said the search was conducted because of mishandling of classified information. And more respondents said that they approve of the search by 49% to 37% who disapproved.

The poll also found another sign that Trump’s backlash exists only in his twisted imagination. A mere 39% of registered voters said that Trump should run again in 2024. Which is a pretty low number for someone who is regarded as their party’s savior. For Biden, 28% said that he should run in 2024. Which is also a low number, but then Democrats are not blindly indoctrinated cult members who regard their political leaders as messiahs.

It’s still a long ways to November and much can happen to affect the election results. Good polling in August should not be viewed as a signal to relax and coast to a presumed victory. Democrats need to remain engaged and staunchly committed to working hard to convince persuadable voters to back progressives at every level of government. And they need to make sure that Democratic voters actually cast their ballots before or on election day. Their are historical headwinds that favor the party out of power during midterms, and Democrats must not spike the ball before they’re in the end zone.

Trump-Endorsed (?) Rep Eric Swalwell Says ‘This is Gonna Be a Wave Election Alright…A BLUE One!’

Tuesday’s primaries produced a mixed bag of results for both Democrats and Republicans. Some of Trump’s endorsed candidates succeeded in winning predictably Republican contests. But the headline victory went to the voters in Kansas who preserved the state constitution’s protection of privacy and the rights of access to abortion.

Despite the variances in the election results, Donald Trump demonstrated his dishonesty, willful ignorance, and political tunnel blindness, by asserting that the night was a total victory for him and MAGA. “Ran the Entire Board,” he posted on his miserably failing social media scam, TRUTH Social.

That, of course, was a flagrant lie. In fact, two of the GOP representatives that Trump worked hardest to defeat – Jaime Herrera Beutler and Don Newhouse who both voted for his impeachment – won their primaries in Washington. And a third – Peter Meijer – lost by a hair to a Trump cultist who will almost certainly lose to his Democratic opponent in November in this newly blue Michigan district.

Given the overall results of these primaries, the political forecast for Democrats has greatly improved. And that did not go unnoticed by Rep. Eric Swalwell of California. Swalwell might have been endorsed by Trump when he posted a couple of days ago that a surname-less “ERIC has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Following the reports of Tuesday’s primary results, Swalwell confidently tweeted that, “This is gonna be a wave election alright…a BLUE one!” And he retweeted a recent poll to back up his certainty:

This poll is a significant improvement over the one taken just a month ago that had the GOP ahead 48 to 46. And it isn’t hard to understand why the landscape changed so drastically. With the ultra-rightist Supreme Court delivering rulings that overturned Roe vs Wade, weakened voting rights, and permitted more widespread access to guns, the American people have been given some strong incentives to ditch Republicans at every level of government.

However, there are also positive incentives for voting Democratic. Despite a razor thin margin in Congress, President Biden and the Democrats have delivered a big basket of bills that are overwhelmingly popular. They include legislation on infrastructure, the American Rescue Plan, gun safety, semiconductor chip manufacturing, climate change, and veteran’s healthcare.

Along with those legislative achievements, the Biden administration also presided over the creation of nine million jobs, lowering unemployment to 3.6%, ending a 20 year war in Afghanistan, and more recently, terminating Al Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri. These accomplishments are starting to be recognized by voters across the country and the political divide, despite efforts by Fox News News and other right-wing media to suppress them.

Democrats will need to overcome the historical tendency of the party in power losing control of Congress in the first midterm election. But there are definitely signs that that trend may be averted this year. However, it won’t happen without voters staying engaged and motivated to give their all to electing Democrats. And Republicans will surely be plotting more malicious means of stealing the election.

So while the future looks bright, it is our patriotic duty to keep the sun shining. And all indications point to the likelihood that, if we stay vigilant and committed, we will succeed in producing a massive blue wave in November.

Trump Projects His Own Dementia on Biden in a Nauseating Mash Up of COVID and Election Fraud

On Saturday President Joe Biden revealed that he has a “rebound” case of COVID-19, something that is fairly common among those treated with Paxlovid. He reports that he has no symptoms, but will be isolating in consideration of others, while continuing to work in the White House residence.

However, proving once again that there is no bottom to Donald Trump’s well of disgusting repugnancy, the Former Guy took time away from his Saudi sponsored, Pro-Ass (Pro-Assassination) golf tournament to post a callous commentary on Biden’s health. Trump said that…

“Joe Biden’s second bout of Covid, sometimes referred to as the China Virus, was sadly misdiagnosed by his doctors. He instead has Dementia, but is happily recovering well. Joe is thinking moving, part time, to one of those beautiful Wisconsin nursing homes, where almost 100% of the resident miraculously, and for the first time in history, had the strength and energy to vote – even if those votes were cast illegally. Get will soon, Joe!?”

After several years of being subjected to Trump’s infantile antics, it is still shocking to see him act out this way. And it’s even worse to know that there are still people stupid enough to support him. Trump’s comment is typical of his inbred immaturity. He has truly captured the Beavis and/or Butthead character that he’s obviously aiming for.

Let’s begin with Trump’s wretchedly insensitive response to someone – in this case the President of the United States – disclosing that he is ill. Imagine Trump’s response if anyone reacted to him getting sick again with what is sometimes referred to as the “Trump Virus.” But that wasn’t offensive enough for Trump. He needed to go further by offering his imbecilic prognosis that Biden is actually suffering from dementia. That’s pure projection on Trump’s part. And it is contrary to what the American people think.

Biden always demonstrates intelligence, compassion, and an ability to comprehend complex issues. Trump, on the other hand, thinks windmills cause cancer, hurricanes should be nuked, stealth fighters are really invisible, injecting bleach cures COVID, and that he won the 2020 presidential election that he lost by seven million votes. And, oh yeah, Biden never tried to overthrow the government. And Trump thinks that Biden is the one who is cognitively impaired?

Trump was still not satisfied with his foul fulminating. He felt compelled to let loose more of his election fraud lies. Trump’s claims regarding Wisconsin nursing homes are flagrantly false. They are the product of dishonest propagators of Trump’s “Big Lie” and have been debunked repeatedly. Trump and his seditionist accomplices have never been able to provide a shred of evidence of any “illegal” votes.

It is a sad spectacle to see a former occupant of the White House lying so brazenly and flinging insults at someone with a potentially serious illness. But it is what we all have come to expect from Donald Trump, whose stunted emotional state is stuck permanently in unmannered toddler mode. America will be, in Trump’s words, “great again” when Trump is no longer paid any attention. And after seeing in his latest comments the sickening depths to which he will sink, that day cannot come soon enough.

Trump’s Petty and Petulant Republican Party Plots Revenge Agenda if it Regains Power in 2022

It consists primarily of the wet dreams of their Dear Leader, Donald Trump, and his dystopian aspirations for autocracy and vengeance.

Throughout the first half of the Biden administration Republicans have demonstrated that their only goal is to blindly oppose President Biden and the Democrats in Congress with knee-jerk solidarity. Never mind that Democrats have been offering broadly popular legislative solutions to the problems that Americans are most concerned about. So far the GOP has voted in lock-step against Democratic (and even some bipartisan) bills to mitigate inflation, halt price gouging by oil companies, increase the availability of baby formula, lower the price of insulin and other prescription drugs, restore privacy and reproductive choice rights, reduce child poverty, and protect citizens from gun violence.

The Democratic record for the past year and a half has been one of principled service to the interests of the American people. For that they have been pilloried by Republicans who believe that their political interests, and those of wannabe dictator Donald Trump, come first. And just to make certain that the radical, self-serving GOP program isn’t misunderstood, they are announcing it publicly in explicit terms. As reported by CNN…

“Trump’s fiercest acolytes have started to publicly push for hearings and probes into his baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 election — even as the select committee reveals an avalanche of testimony about how those lies incited a violent mob to attack the Capitol.” […]

“Aside from possible election-related inquiries, some of the GOP’s potential investigative targets include the origins of the novel coronavirus, particularly the laboratory leak theory that has gained steam in Republican circles; the bureaucratic decision-making behind Covid-related school closures and vaccine mandates; any business dealings involving President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter; the chaotic pullout from Afghanistan; and the border policies being overseen by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. […] there’s also been growing calls on the right for the GOP to use its firepower to rewrite the narrative on January 6.”

Seriously? The Republican Party is laser focused on Wuhan conspiracy theories and Hunter Biden? They think that’s a winning strategy for the midterms? Of course that can’t be all the GOP is planning. They will also be campaigning hard against Critical Race Theory, LGBTQ+ rights, and fair voting practices. And don’t be surprised if Hillary Clinton somehow makes it into their scammy schemes.

For his part, Trump is fully on board with this line of attack. He will be making his first return to Washington, D.C., later this month to deliver “a major policy speech” to the “America First Agenda Summit,” where it is reported that he will “lay out a vision for what his policy agenda could be in a second term if he runs for president again in 2024.” Does Trump know that 49% of Republicans don’t want him to run in 2024?

We can safely assume that the “vision” articulated in Trump’s address – like every other address he makes – will consist predominantly of whining and lying about having lost the 2020 presidential election, complaining about “fake” news, and casting childish insults at his perceived political foes, including insufficiently worshipful Republicans. It would be nice to see Trump greeted by thousands of protesters when he shows his orange face in the Capitol that he tried to plunder by violent insurrection.

With this campaign contrived to foment fear and arouse anger in the Deplorable demographic, it’s hard to imagine how Democrats can’t prevail in November and beyond. But with the devotion of the GOP’s cult base, and the complicity of the right-wing propaganda apparatus (i.e. Fox News) nothing can be taken for granted. Democrats need to stay vigilant and engaged, and work as hard as ever to get out their message and their voters. The future of democracy literally rests upon it.

Trump is Freaking Out that the January 6th Hearings are So Effectively Illuminating His Crimes

The creaky gears of Donald Trump’s primitive mental machinery have always made it simple to read his poorly veiled motives and fear driven objectives. What he is most afraid of invariably consumes his private thoughts and public outbursts. He is an open children’s book that consists mainly of stick pictures and infantile temper tantrums.

This has never been more apparent than in his reactions to the hearings being conducted by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection that he invited. In just two weeks the Committee has exposed a multitude of ethical, moral, and legal breaches that would crush the career of any politician who hadn’t been transformed into a cartoonish cult messiah by a small but vocal congregation of crackpots. And the Committee is clearly having a profound impact on the American people.

Consequently, Trump has taken to his miserably failing social media debacle, TRUTH Social, to vent his outrage. And not surprisingly, his tirades are typically anti-social and utterly devoid of any “truth” He began by complaining that…

“The only thing not discussed by the Unselects, in any way, shape, or form, is the irrefutable evidence of massive and totally pervasive ELECTION FRAUD & IRREGULARITIES which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election. They refuse to go there.”

First of all, that’s blatantly false. The Committee’s mandate from the start has been to discuss Trump’s flagrantly fallacious claims of election fraud. And they have done so in every session. If they haven’t discussed any “irrefutable evidence” of such fraud, it’s just because there isn’t any. And if Trump wants more representation of his side, he might want to agree to testify, or stop ordering his minions not to do so. Then Trump continued to whine…

““What about the massive ballot stuffing shown, on Government Tape, by the highly respected and credible Patriots of Truth to Vote (2000 Mules)?”

Not only was there no evidence of any ballot stuffing, but Trump can’t even get the name of the highly disreputable and non-credible group right. (It’s “True the Vote”). And the crocumentary “2,000 Mules” by a convicted election fraudster, has been widely debunked. But Trump still wasn’t done yowling. He felt compelled to utter more falsehoods about the Committee, lying that…

“Their lead investigator just quit, they cancelled or postponed future hearings, the T.V. Ratings are absolutely abysmal, and Shifty Schiff continues his sanctimonious ‘interviews’ just as though he were talking about his first four failed hoaxes!”

Trump is trying desperately to malign the Committee with ludicrous assertions that he thinks will make it look bad. Let’s start with his charge that the lead investigator quit. To Trump that signals some sort of trouble. However, the investigator, John Wood, is actually a republican who is exploring a senate primary bid in Missouri to challenge the disgraced GOP candidate and “RINO hunter,” Eric Greitens, who even Republicans are embarrassed by.

Then Trump notes that future Committee hearings were postponed (not canceled). That’s true. But once again, it isn’t because of problems with the proceedings. In fact, it’s due to the Committee receiving so much new evidence against against Trump that they need more time to process it. Contrary to Trump’s phony fulminations, this will actually result in extending the hearings, and their devastating affect on Trump, into July.

Finally, Trump is deliberately lying about the TV ratings. Every session of the Committee’s hearings have garnered huge audiences. The first session, that aired in primetime, had higher ratings than the NBA championship game the night before. And the American people are paying attention. In a significant increase since the last poll, nearly 6 in 10 Americans say that Trump should charged criminally for his role in the Capitol Hill riots.

Making matters worse for Trump, even longtime conservative pollster, Frank Luntz, has noticed that “Trump is being damaged by the House Select Committee hearings.”

“Speaking on CNN, Luntz pointed to polling showing that Trump’s unfavorability among voters has spiked over the course of the hearings as evidence that they’re leaving a mark.”

The longer these hearings go on, the more proof of Trump’s criminality will be exposed, and the more people will be repulsed by his assault on democracy and the Constitution. And the only thing his petulant whining will accomplish will be to make him look all the more guilty, pathetic, and desperate. So … Please proceed, Donald.

Trump is Covertly Recruiting More Violent Insurrectionists With Promises of Future Pardons

On January 6, 2021, deadly riots took place on Capitol Hill that were purposefully instigated by Donald Trump. They were intended to undermine democracy by obstructing Congress from carrying out its constitutional duty to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election. It was an unprecedented act of domestic terrorism that was fueled by a wannabe dictator who was unwilling to concede that he lost.

While Trump and his Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) belittled the carnage, more than a 140 law enforcement officers were injured, and millions of dollars of damage was done by the StormTrumpers. This insurrection is currently being investigated by a bipartisan House Select Committee that is finding abundant evidence of criminality on the part of Trump and his seditious confederates.

So what is a treasonous, twice-impeached, pathologically lying, former reality TV game show host to do when confronted by indisputable proof of his treachery? Well, for Trump it is to deliver yet another lie-riddled, self-exalting speech before an audience of glassy-eyed cult disciples. And that’s precisely what Trump did at the “Faith and Freedom” in Tennessee on Friday night.

Trump’s harangue was mostly consumed by the tedious repetition of his relentless and totally false whining that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen” him. It was a pathetic outpouring of self-pity that has only become more intense as the House Committee’s case of against him progresses, with the American people watching and learning of his depravity, by the millions.

In addition to his tiresome top hits, Trump added a new number to the set list on Friday. Referring to the thugs who assaulted Congress, Trump offered his sympathies, not for the people’s representatives who were terrorized or the officers who were attacked, but for fate of the traitors who were arrested for their flagrant and savage lawlessness. But he didn’t stop at sympathies:

“Even while January 6th defendants are having their lives totally destroyed, and being treated worse than terrorists and murderers, despite most being charged with parading through the Capitol, most people should not be treated the way they’re being treated. And if I become president, someday if I decide to do it, I will be looking at them very, very seriously for pardons. Very, very seriously. They’ve been treated very unfairly.”

First of all, if the lives of the January 6th defendants are being destroyed, it’s their own fault for joining Trump’s immoral and unlawful coup attempt. Secondly, many of them have been charged with seditious conspiracy, and other felonies, which Trump fails to mention.

However, the most foreboding part of Trump’s remarks is his promise to “very, very seriously” consider pardons for his shock troops if he were to reoccupy the White House. What should send shivers down the spines of patriots is not just his interest in allowing the traitors to get off scot free, but the effect of his promise going forward.

Trump is essentially telling anyone who is contemplating committing future acts of violence that they too would be pardoned. That is a thinly veiled recruitment campaign for new insurrectionists. Trump is telling them to go ahead and assault people and institutions without fear of consequences. He is also engaging in witness tampering because his promise would encourage people with pertinent information to withhold it on the expectation that they would be pardoned for their crimes and for defying the courts.

It is rhetoric like this that makes it all the more critical that Trump never be allowed anywhere near any position of power again, and that he be prosecuted for his past offenses. Hopefully the House Committee will continue to document his malfeasances and the Department of Justice will act accordingly.

Crybaby Trump Slams the January 6th Committee For Nixing His Witnesses – Who Refused to Testify

Poor Donald Trump. It must be terribly difficult for him to watch the House Select Committee conduct a thorough investigation of his treasonous crimes without anyone there to stand up for him or tell his side of story. And it can’t help knowing that millions of Americans are tuning in and being swayed. Unless, of course, they’re watching Fox News where it is either being ignored or followed up with sycophantic slobbering.

So what is a seditious, coup-plotting, aspiring authoritarian, and pathological liar to do when forced to sit through hour after hour of incriminating evidence? Well, naturally he rants incoherently on his own miserably failing social media website about how he is such a victim of Democratic meanies.

The whiny complaints that Trump is posting on his hysterically misnamed “TRUTH” Social are typical of a severely damaged malignant narcissist whose tender ego has been wounded. They are drenched in self pity and festering falsehoods. Beginning with…

“The Unselect Committee has been unable the answer, or in any way refute, the detailed statement, put out yesterday, of voter fraud and irregularities in numerous states that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election. They don’t answer because they have no answer. […] The Committee is a SCAM!”

Actually, the Committee has effectively refuted Trump’s tedious tantrums about the allegedly “rigged” 2020 presidential election. And unlike Trump, they have done so with documentary evidence and corroborating testimony. What’s more, many Trump administration officials have debunked his utterly unsupported allegations of election fraud.

What Trump is referring to in the comment above is his deranged twelve page hissy fit that produced nothing that he hasn’t already been manically excreting for the past year and a half. Much of that trumped up treatise rested on the crocumentary “2,000 Mules” by Dinesh D’Souza, the convicted election fraudster who Trump pardoned. But Trump was just getting started. He continued raging that…

“The Fake News Media won’t challenge the so-called “Big Lie” because they have NO AMMUNITION to do so. They and their Radical Left Democrat Partner, the same people that perpetuated the now fully debunked Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX, are using their standard DISINFORMATION Con to bring our Country down!”

Actually, the media has repeatedly and exhaustively challenged Trump’s “Big Lie.” And it hasn’t been especially difficult considering that he doesn’t have a shred of evidence, which explains why he has lost more than sixty court cases wherein he attempted to challenge the election results. Trump’s argument has devolved into the same repetitive babbling about a “HOAX” that he makes against his well documented collusion with Russia:

But Trump still had more to disgorge, whereupon he unleashed this seething squeal…

“Why don’t the Unselects put up the many witnesses who are for our Country and fully agree that the Election was Rigged and Stolen, instead of the weak and frightened Losers that very FEW people have been watching so far??? WITCH HUNT!!!”

This is perhaps the most ludicrous of Trump’s outbursts. First of all, Trump knows very well that millions of people have been watching these hearings. More than 20 million tuned in to Thursday’s primetime session, and more than 10 million during Monday’s morning session. These are numbers that exceed all regular programming and most major sporting events, awards shows, and other popular specials.

Secondly, the “weak and frightened Losers” who testified, and to whom Trump is referring, are all veterans of his administration. Every witness so far has been a Trump associate or staffer. And Trump’s complaint that the Committee hasn’t put up witnesses who “agree that the Election was Rigged and Stolen,” isn’t the Committee’s fault. Nevertheless, Trump lashed out in his twelve page harangue several times saying…

“If they had any real evidence, they’d hold real hearings with equal representation.”
“They have refused to allow their political opponents to participate in this process, and have excluded all exculpatory witnesses.”
“The American public has a right to know the truth and see every witness.”
“What are the members of this treasonous ‘Committee’ afraid of? Why can’t they let the countervailing opinion be heard?”

In fact, the witnesses that Trump is begging to hear, and who would be expected to support him, have stubbornly and illegally refused to testify. Some of them refused at Trump’s direction. Among those who defied the Committee’s subpoenas to appear were his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, his social media director, Dan Scavino, his former campaign chairman, Steve Bannon, and his former trade representative, Peter Navarro. The latter two have been indicted for contempt of Congress.

If Trump really wants the Committee to hear his side of the story, he could simply tell his associates to accept the Committee’s invitation to testify. Or better yet, he could volunteer to testify himself. Then his story could be told in his own words. There are just two little problems. First, he is too big a coward, and he would rather whine than face the Committee and defend himself. And second, he knows he’s guilty.

UPDATE: Trump added another bombastic outburst…

“The Fake News Networks are perpetuating lies, falsehoods, and Russia, Russia, Russia type disinformation (same sick people, here we go again!) by allowing the low rated but nevertheless one sided and slanderous Unselect Committee hearings to go endlessly and aimlessly on (and on and on!). It is a one sided, highly partisan Witch Hunt, the likes of which has never been seen in Congress before. Therefore, I am hereby demanding EQUAL TIME to spell out the massive Voter Fraud & Dem Security Breach!”

“Demanding”? He’s so funny. And once again, all it would take – as Committee member Eric Swalwell says – is “sitting your lying ass in a witness chair.” The Committee will gladly make time for him. He won’t do it. He’s too busy whining, and too scared to show up.
