Fox News Fans the Flaming Lie that Biden Sought to Assassinate Trump During Search of Mar-a-Lago

Now that the attorneys in the so-called “Hush Money” trial of Donald Trump (more accurately, the falsifying business records and election interference trial) have rested their cases, the disinformation agents working to exonerate Trump in the court of public opinion are preparing for the potentiality of Trump’s conviction.

Consequently, the MAGA cult operatives are now anxiously deploying en masse to muddy up the discourse with their contrived narratives in order to deflect from the bad news that they seem to anticipate. And they don’t care how preposterous or unbelievable their distractions are. In fact, the more ridiculous the better for purposes of misdirection and evasion. That accounts for absurdities…

SUCH AS THIS: Fox News Floats Conspiracy Theory that Biden is Plotting to Assault Trump to Avoid Debating Him

However, if you think that’s as far as the Trumpists could go, you are vastly underestimating their derangement, and that of those they are trying to reach. On Monday new evidence of Trump’s involvement in stealing and hoarding classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago bunker was released.

While the new evidence further incriminates Trump, it also included a more detailed description of the search warrant granted to the FBI to search Trump’s Palm Beach home/hotel. In that description was standard boilerplate language about the possible use of force that exists in virtually every federal search warrant.

But leave it to the Trump cult to focus obsessively on that technicality and try to turn it into a controversy. Their interpretation became that this language was uniquely applied to Trump and amounted to – get this – an intention by Biden to assassinate him. Trump himself commented on this nonsense in a post on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, raving that…

“WOW! I just came out of the Biden Witch Hunt Trial in Manhattan, the ‘Icebox,’ and was shown Reports that Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ, in their Illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE. NOW WE KNOW, FOR SURE, THAT JOE BIDEN IS A SERIOUS THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. HE IS MENTALLY UNFIT TO HOLD OFFICE — 25TH AMENDMENT!”

Nearly every word of that is an outright lie. Biden had nothing to do with the trial in Manhattan, and it isn’t a “Witch Hunt.” Nor was the search of Mar-a-Lago “Illegal and UnConstitutional.” And none of that would suggest any mental unfitness of Biden, or trigger invoking the 25th Amendment. But when did Trump ever let reality interfere with his rancid yammering?

Likewise, it doesn’t stop his sycophants (e.g. Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, etc.) from joining in. And for good measure, Trump is already incorporating this malarkey into his fundraising. Unfortunately, his grasp of the English languish is distorting his message…

No one will be surprised to learn that that Fox News is fully on board with the accusations that Biden was plotting to off Trump. For example, Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, covered the matter by saying that…

“Trump calling out President Biden after learning that his administration authorized the use of deadly force during the FBI’s 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago during the classified documents probe. According to this filing, the DoJ and the FBI agents planned to bring standard issue weapons, ammunition, handcuffs, and medium and large size bolt cutters.”

To her credit, Bartiromo also read the FBI’s statement that…

“The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force. No one ordered additional steps to be taken and there was no departure from the norm in this matter.”

But to her shame, Bartiromo immediately ignored her own reporting to complain that the FBI and the Democrats were calling Trump a threat to democracy, “but Biden is authorizing deadly force against his political opponent?” She knows perfectly well that Biden didn’t do that. She just read the FBI’s statement herself.

Bartiromo wasn’t the only Fox News hack furthering these lies. Jesse Watters did the same on his program, saying that “the Biden administration authorized the ‘use of deadly force’ during the Mar-A-Lago raid,” and that it was “A major bombshell in the Trump documents case.” Actually, it wasn’t. And former Florida Attorney General and Special Advisor to Trump, Pam Bondi, said on Fox & Friends that “Nothing about this is normal.” Actually, it was all normal.

So in order to counter-program the coming verdict in Trump’s “Hush Money” case, Fox News and his cult cronies have manufactured this utterly insane allegation that Biden was plotting to assassinate Trump. Never mind that the search warrant lingo was routine, the FBI behaved appropriately, and Trump wasn’t even there.

UPDATE: The standard “use of force” language was also in search warrants for Biden’s homes. So apparently Biden was also plotting to assassinate – himself?

What makes this extraordinarily ludicrous is that Trump currently has a case pending before the Supreme Court wherein he is claiming to have “presidential immunity,” which doesn’t exist in the law or the Constitution. His attorneys have argued that such immunity would give any president, including Biden, the right to assassinate a political opponent with impunity.

If the Court comes down on Trump’s side (heaven forbid), then he can’t complain if Biden actually does try to kill him. Not that Biden would ever contemplate such a thing. But it’s emblematic of Trump’s thinking that is notoriously devoid of reason.

Marjorie Taylor Green Scorches Fox News for Wanting ‘To Control What Republican Voters Think’

And while they unload plenty of vile on their Democratic foes, they frequently aim at one another, ripping themselves to shreds in pursuit of some illusory glory or at least attention.

Case in point: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-MAGA), has been ferociously mauling her GOP confederates, including the leader of her party in the House of Representatives, Speaker Mike Johnson, who she tried unsuccessfully to oust.

Not satisfied with that humiliating failure, Greene reached out to the patron taint of MAGA Land, Steve Bannon, to try to enhance her embarrassment by lashing out at the right’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News (video below). Greene whined…

So you got to remember Fox News that literally fired Tucker Carlson, the number one cable TV news host in the nation. Tucker, who was basically the voice of everyone, that’s the Fox News that refused to cover me calling the motion to vacate. The Five never switched gears, they never changed, never went to anything different. Fox News wants to control what Republican voters think.

Let’s set aside Greene’s deranged assertion that Tucker Carlson was “the voice of everyone.” And we can likewise ignore her lie that Fox News “refused to cover “ her motion to vacate stunt. Neither of those remarks resemble anything remotely like reality.

What’s notable about Greene’s comments is the part that she surprisingly got right. Fox News does indeed want to control what Republican voters think. And they always have. In fact, it’s pretty much their reason for existing.

However, Greene seems to think that that wasn’t the purpose of the network from its inception, and in partnership with the GOP. She delivers this opinion as criticism. Never mind that she was happy to take advantage of this propaganda machine when it suited her purposes. She went on tell Bannon that…

“They want to make viewers, their viewers think that we have to fight for Ukraine, that we have to stop Putin because he’s gonna steamroll across Europe just like Hitler did even though there’s no evidence of showing that.”

Greene is ignoring the evidence of Putin’s intentions, such as his own words. This is why even Greene’s fellow Republicans have been calling her “Moscow Marjorie.” She continued saying that…

“This is the same Fox News that wants to infuriate you every single day while Republicans go down to the border, drag out the podium once again, point it, oh, look. Look. They’re crossing the border. Oh my goodness. Oh my. But, yeah, Republicans don’t do a damn thing to actually stop it.”

Greene, of course, is a ray of sunshine who never resorts to infuriating her followers. As for the border bill, she was one of the Republicans who voted against a bipartisan solution because Dear Leader Trump told them to. They prefer chaos to solutions because they think they can blame it on President Biden. And she still wasn’t through…

“The Speaker can do anything he wants to do if he’s willing to do it, but we have a speaker that’s weak that a man — an 80-year-old man with dementia is able to fool him. This is where we are.”

That hardly needs a response. Finally, Greene closed saying that…

“Fox News wants to make sure, make sure that you guys don’t have your own opinion, that you only have the opinion that Fox News tells you to have.”

So how is that different than what Fox and the GOP have wanted for years? How is it different from what Greene and Bannon want? The Republican Party is a lockstep organization that has always demanded total fealty to their doctrine, and now to their messia, Donald Trump. Other than new faces, nothing has changed.

Blurring the Lines: Fox News Host Warns Trump: Do Not Choose a VP Who Won’t Appear on My Show

The 2024 presidential election continues to unfold in bizarre and unprecedent ways. Most notably, the nominee of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, is currently spending his days in a New York courtroom on trial for 34 felony counts of election interference and campaign finance fraud. And that’s just the beginning of Trump’s legal woes that include at least 54 more felonies in three other jurisdictions.

In what has been called the “Hush Money” case, due to Trump’s payment of $130,000.00 to buy the silence of porn star Stormy Daniels, the former reality TV game show host has been seen outside the court whining about what a pitiful victim he is, and inside the court scowling and nodding off during the proceedings.

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign progresses in fits and starts with speculation as to who he might select as his running mate. Those vying to become the lead Trump-fluffers include Kristi Noem, Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, Vivek Ramaswamy, Elise Stefanik, Byron Donalds, Kari Lake, and JD Vance. And the oddsmakers for who Trump eventually chooses are all over the map. Suffice to say that the one who gets the rose will be the one who is most willing to abandon all integrity and honesty in favor of unflinching loyalty to Dear Leader.

However, Fox News has emerged as a new factor in determining Trump’s number two. Further affirming that Fox News is the official propaganda arm of the Republican Party and the MAGA Cult, Fox News host Mark Levin has inserted himself into the vice-presidential selection process. On his program Monday Levin said that…

“If there’s somebody who claims to be a conservative and won’t come on this program, then my advice to [former] President Trump is do not choose them as your running mate. If they’re not willing to come on this program and talk to me and I speak to them on your behalf — don’t you agree, mister producer? — that’s a telltale sign that they have a problem with you, millions and millions and millions of you.”

Levin is going much farther than blurring the lines between media and politics. He is totally erasing them. He is appointing himself as the gatekeeper for one of the most consequential decisions a presidential candidate can make. And he is setting as the criteria for his own decision whether or not a VP hopeful submits to appearing on his program. Failure to do so results in being removed from consideration, at least by Levin.

It’s hard to imagine anything more inappropriate and self-serving by a political pundit. From his perch on TV and radio, Levin is assuming an acting role in Trump’s campaign. Any credible media enterprise that employs him would immediately terminate him. Lucky for him he doesn’t work for any credible media enterprise. As an alternative, perhaps his salary, and/or the value of the airtime he consumes, should be reportable as an in-kind donation to Trump’s campaign.

Levin’s disgraceful behavior isn’t the only example of Fox’s flagrant biases. Sean Hannity has actually appeared on stage at Trump rallies. Laura Ingraham is relentlessly fawning. And most of the rest of the Fox roster embraces Trump with shameless adoration. The network serves as the PR division of the Trump campaign and continues to make it abundantly clear that they have no interest in being a legitimate news organization. And in that respect: Mission Accomplished.

Democrats were responsible for implementing broadly popular programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. And they still support them. Most Republicans staunchly opposed them from the beginning, and still seek to diminish or terminate them.

Donald Trump has been all over the map on this issue, generally based on whether his variable positions benefit him at the time. More often than not he has sided with right-wingers who are against these programs. But occasionally – when it suits his interests – he will claim to be a supporter.

For instance, Trump criticized Ron DeSantis for proposing cuts to entitlements. Even though they were some of the very same cuts that Trump has proposed. To be clear, Trump was not supporting entitlements. He was attacking DeSantis. And his opposition goes all the way back to his first campaign…

On Monday morning Trump was interviewed by rightist shill, Joe Kernan, on CNBC. Kernan raised the subject of entitlements with a blatantly leading question and attempted to get a coherent response from Trump. Which is always a loser’s mission. The exchange confirmed Trump’s commitment to undermining the programs that ensure quality of life for America’s seniors.

Kernan: Have you changed your outlook on how to handle entitlements? Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. It seems like something has to be done. Or else we’re gonna be stuck at 120% of debt to GDP forever.
Trump: So first of all, there is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting. And in terms of, also, the theft and bad management of entitlements. Tremendous bad management of entitlements.

Kernan’s question has his bias built into it. He is more concerned about deficits than human lives. As for Trump, his answer is his latest embrace of a policy aimed at cutting benefits for entitlement programs. Then he adds that he would also address waste, something he obviously had no interest in doing for the four years that he previously occupied the White House.

This would be a good time to point out that entitlement programs are not welfare. They are paid into by the eventual recipients, and they are not included in budget deficit calculations. Although, their funds are often used to offset those deficits.

It is also important to note that – as both Kernan and Trump agree – there are things that can and should be done. But cutting isn’t among them. Neither of them mention that contributions to the Social Security Trust Fund are capped for high income taxpayers. If that cap were raised it would eliminate any threat of underfunding for decades to come.

It would be foolish to ignore Trump’s knee-jerk reaction to inquiries about entitlements. Despite what he might say in certain venues in order to pander to voters, he is squarely opposed to them and yearns to slash them. He has tried before, and his GOP confederates in Congress are determined to send him legislation to do so, if given the opportunity. And this is not just an issue for seniors. It is an issue for anyone who hopes to someday be a senior, and to anyone with elderly parents or other family.

This interview is just the most recent affirmation of Trump’s anti-entitlement crusade. And along with cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, it will be a core part of the Trump/MAGA agenda.

It’s comforting to note that President Biden, in his State of the Union address last week, vowed to stop anyone in Congress who tries to cut these programs. Which is just another of the many reasons to work furiously for his reelection. And to that end, his campaign just released a video showing the past attempts by Trump to rob America’s seniors and future seniors…

Trump’s Sanity is Questioned By Voters in Focus Groups Conducted By a Conservative Pollster

The coverage of the presidential campaign to date has been pitifully lacking in substance. There is little discussion of the issues that divide President Biden from Donald Trump. The press fails to make appropriate distinctions between Biden’s advocacy of economic equality, reproductive rights, climate change mitigation, and preserving democracy, and Trump’s counter campaign that is almost entirely about himself, his legal problems, and his delusional insistence that he won in 2020.

Instead, the media seems obsessed with the age of President Biden, while ignoring that Trump is only three years younger. More importantly, they fail to acknowledge that Trump’s madness is obvious and alarming, but Biden’s behavior shows no signs of cognitive decline. To the contrary, Biden has produced remarkable progress as President on critical matters including healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, infrastructure, manufacturing, and more.

While it’s true that Biden has made some minor mistakes in his speeches, they were generally trivial mispronunciations that didn’t reflect on his ability to do his job. Trump’s “mistakes,” however, are more troubling and frightening. They reveal his ignorance, racism, vengefulness, and sociopathic narcissism.

However, what the media is neglecting to observe, the voters appear to be noticing. Conservative pollster Sarah Longwell has held focus groups to ascertain where voters stand on the question of Trump’s fitness to serve. And the results aren’t pretty…

“According to conservative pollster Sarah Longwell, voters are less concerned with Donald Trump’s age than they are worried about his mental fitness as they look at the presidential choices in 2024. […]

“‘[V]oters don’t question Trump’s mental capacity, they are questioning his sanity,’ she replied. ‘They question whether he is fit enough to be commander in chief from a moral and ethical standpoint.'”

The distinction between “mental capacity” and “sanity” is an important one. Some people regard Trump’s louder, more belligerent demeanor as a sign of mental fitness. It’s not, It’s just a sign that he is more severely disturbed and consumed with anger and delusions.

On the other hand, Biden’s soft-spoken presentation is often interpreted by the press – and definitely by Trump’s MAGA GOP – as a sign that he’s weak or tired. Actually, it’s sign that he’s calm and thoughtful.

But don’t try telling that to Trump or members of his cult. They remain devoted to him as their Dear Leader despite his conspicuous craziness. Their adoration wasn’t diminished when he bragged about grabbing women by the p***y, or when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue, or when he was found liable for defamation and rape, or when dined with a professed Nazi at Mar-a-Lago, or when he “encouraged” Vladimir Putin to attack our NATO allies, or when he exalted himself as akin to the messiah. So why would his severe mental handicaps bother them now?

Trump-Fluffing Fox News Host Doesn’t Get It: You Have to Hate Trump to Love America

There has been a barrage of bad news for Donald Trump lately. Last week the New York Attorney General, Letitia James, won a civil lawsuit against Trump that resulted in a $350 million judgment for his having falsified financial statements. That followed a civil judgment of $83 million against him for the defamation and rape of writer E. Jean Carroll. And a date has been set for next month for his trial on charges of paying hush money to adult film star, Stormy Daniels.

These cases do not even include the 91 felony counts for the criminal charges that are still pending. Trump’s legal problems continue to eat away at what remains of his cognitive functionality. And that mental breakdown is evident in the rancid rants at his cult rallies and on his increasingly incoherent comments on his failing social media scam, Truth Social.

But never fear. Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is hard at work covering up Trump’s emotional and intellectual defects. Whether it is his demands that he be allowed to commit any crime he wants without consequences, or his subservient encouragement to Vladimir Putin to attack America’s NATO allies. Fox News finds a way to sanitize his overtly traitorous tendencies. For example, on Monday morning Lisa Boothe, co-host of Fox’s Outnumbered, unleashed this sycophantic slop…

“These people clearly hate Trump more than they love America. And by the time they finally get him, if they ever do, what’s going to become of the country? Think of all the damage these threats to democracy people have done as they burn the country down to try to get him.

“No one trusts elections anymore after they upended the system during COVID, a virus almost as deadly as the flu. As they upended the process with mail-in balloting and trying to take Trump off the ballot. No one trusts the rule of law anymore. It doesn’t exist as they’ve used it weaponized against Donald Trump. The media debased itself lying about Donald Trump.”

Let’s just set aside the utterly insane dismissal of COVID as “a virus almost as deadly as the flu.” COVID has at least a 60% higher fatality rate than the flu. Moving on, someone needs to explain to Boothe that it’s possible – even necessary – to hate Trump in order to love America. And that’s true specifically because of the things that Boothe enumerates- albeit inadvertently – in her spiel. Such as…

  • The fact that it is Trump who is the “threat to democracy.”
  • That Trump literally tried to “burn the country down” via his incitement of an insurrection on January 6, 2021.
  • That Trump has fomented distrust of elections with his refusal to accept his loss to President Biden, and his relentless lies about election fraud that he has never been able to prove.
  • That Trump promoted gross disrespect for the rule of law by repeatedly breaking it and disparaging the American system of justice.
  • And it is Fox News that best represents “media [that] debased itself lying about Donald Trump.”

Any American patriot with open eyes can see that it is impossible to love America without hating Trump and his determination to destroy what America stands for. And that goes for Fox News too. This pathetic embrace of Trump’s venality is just more proof that Fox is a purposefully anti-American enterprise that only serves the interests our enemies.

Even with tight margins in the Congress, Biden was able to get legislation through that boosted the economy, expanded healthcare, mitigated climate change, created jobs, and much more. All while reducing the deficit.

By contrast, Republicans focused squarely on matters of such profound importance as personal political vendettas, fighting among themselves, and running defense for Dear Leader Donald Trump. They held countless hearings on whether to impeach Biden for crimes they couldn’t name or provide any evidence for. In their spare time they threatened to throw the nation into economic turmoil by failing to raise the debt ceiling or pass the appropriations bills necessary for the government to function.

Despite the successes of Biden and the Democrats, they are not getting the credit they deserve for their efforts. That’s largely due to the failure of the media to report accurately about the abundant good news. They seem determined to distort reality in favor the Republicans, either because of their inherent conservative biases, or their belief that close races and conflict – even if it’s manufactured – make for better ratings.

This week, however, a bit of truth slipped through the filters in the most unlikely of places, Fox News. Jessica Tarlov, the designated liberal who alone faces four snarling conservatives on Fox’s “The Five,” was given a brief opportunity to present the case for the Democrats. And even though it was introduced with a snide dismissal by wingnut Tom Shillue, sitting in for the execrable Greg Gutfeld, it was the sort of factual summation that every news network should be reporting…

Shillue: Where do we go from here? Twenty seconds to defend the indefensible.
Tarlov: We go right back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because we do have good economic news, but the media doesn’t want to cover it. He is correct. He shouldn’t just say you’re looking at the wrong thing. They need to communicate this better.

But we got revised third quarter GDP growth up to 4.9 percent. Unheard of. Consumer confidence went up 14 percent. Largest jump in a decade. Inflation is running at an annualized rate below Powell’s target, which is why he’s talking about a rate cut. Personal income is up. Grocery and energy prices down last month.

In the Quinnipiac poll – this part of it is really important – they did a forward-looking question, what do you think 2024 is going to be like? 48 percent said the economy is going to be better, and 62 percent think that they are going to be better off in the next year. When is the election? November 2024. Democrats, make your case. There is a case to be made.

The initial subject of the segment was Fox’s complaint that Biden made a polite request that the media report honestly about the economy. Fox’s on-screen graphics exposed their biases reading “Biden Scolds Media Over Economy” and “Biden Snaps at Media.” In reality, he good naturedly encouraged them to “Take a look” at the economy and to “Start reporting it the right way.”

Perhaps they could use as a model the way they reported economic issues during the Trump years. Here’s an example from 2017 when Trump was bragging about his abysmal record and received zero pushback from the press…

With the economy performing far better today than when Trump occupied the White House, the media continues to downplay the positive stories that the public needs to make their electoral decisions next year. Consequently, Biden is having trouble getting his approval ratings up. But this election is important for reasons that exceed the economy.

Today the nation is literally facing a choice between preserving our democracy or succumbing to the authoritarianism openly promised by Trump and the Republicans. So any aid and comfort that the media gives to Trump et al, makes them complicit with their march toward dictatorship. That’s an editorial path that the press really needs to reconsider.

FOX NEWS IS APPALLED that Trump Quoting Hitler Might Get More Press than a Selfie Sex Video

What constitutes “news” these days has had a stark transformation from what is generally considered matters of consequence to the public at large, to tabloid trash and titillating gossip. and much of that shift can be attributed directly to Fox News and other right-wing outlets that have abandoned facts in favor of partisan propaganda.

Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler

This week Fox News reestablished itself as the leading perpetrator of this redefinition of what is regarded as newsworthy. Their devotion to the debasement of the press was on full display during a segment of Fox and Friends that sought to make a distinction between two current events competing for attention. And true to form, Fox managed to make a mess of the whole matter in manner that was typical of their predictably ludicrous news judgment. After all, it is the same network that celebrates an annual “War on Christmas.”

The segment that aired on Saturday (video below) tried to juxtapose stories that had no rational connection anywhere but in the minds of perverse Fox Newsers. One story was about a selfie sex video that was making the rounds on social media. It featured an aide to Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin, who was quickly fired. The other story was about Donald Trump quoting Adolf Hitler, a repugnant historical figure for whom Trump has previously expressed admiration.

The segment began with co-host Will Cain playing a clip of Trump’s Hitler citation at his recent cult rally in New Hampshire, where he was distorting data (i.e. lying) on immigration and demeaning refugees…

Trump: “We’ve get a lot of work to do. They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done. They’ve poisoned mental institutions and prisons all over the world. Not just in South America, not just the three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world.”

The phrase “poisoning the blood of our country” was one that was used frequently by Hitler and his Nazi confederates. For the leading candidate for the Republican Party’s nomination for president to be embracing that rhetoric is abhorrent and frightening. But that wasn’t what Cain was upset about. He continued…

Cain: “The mainstream media is going to talk about this. They already are. It’s going to take over everything. ‘Poison the blood of our country’ when talking about illegal immigration. In fact, the Biden-Harris administration has already jumped all over it. They said the following…

Biden Spokesman: ‘Tonight, Donald Trump channeled his role models as he parroted Adolf Hitler, praised Kim Jong un, and quoted Vladimir Putin, while running for president on a promise to rule as a dictator and threaten American democracy. He is betting he can win this election by scaring and dividing the country. He’s wrong.’

Cain: “The reason I bring up those two stories to you, is I thought and I think it should be a big deal that we’re talking about what happened in the Senate hearing chamber. And I think what we’re going to do, I think what’s going to happen here for the next couple of days is we’re going to latch on to three words that Donald Trump said, and it’s going to drive the news cycle.”

That’s right! What Fox News thinks is a “big deal” is the video made by a lowly (and horny) senate staffer who has already been fired and has no impact whatsoever on the nation. And they are deeply disturbed that that petty, but provocative, video might be swept aside by the video of the aspiring authoritarian Trump employing fascist hate speech. On a legitimate news network a potential president who embraces fascism would deserve far more than a “couple of days” of the news cycle.

Fox News has provided an outstanding example of their priorities and those of the Republican Party. They aim to elevate pseudo-scandalous nonsense to crisis levels, while being casually dismissive of prospective dictatorships. And that should stir fear in the hearts and minds of the American people because that’s precisely how such dictatorships come to pass.
