Fox News Cancels Their Senior Trump-Fluffing Rage-Aholic, Dan Bongino

Times are changing fast at Fox News now that a court has affirmed that they are staffed by shameless liars. On Tuesday the right-wing propaganda network agreed to settle a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for a whopping 3/4 of a billion dollars. And on Thursday they fired their ultra-bombastic, Trump-fluffing, weekend ranter, Dan Bongino.

Fox News, Dan Bongino

According to Bongino, his termination by Fox News had nothing to do with the defamation lawsuit settlement. He says that it was merely an inability for the two sides to come to an agreement on his contract renewal. However, given his past performance, and the damage done to Fox’s already reprehensible reputation, it’s difficult to completely separate the two events.

RELATED: The Fox News 3/4 Billion Dollar Dominion Defamation Settlement is Also a Judgment Against Trump

Bongino has been a staunch defender of Trump throughout the former reality TV game show host’s occupation of the White House and beyond. Trump could do no wrong in Bongino’s eyes, whether it was his two impeachments, his sexual harassment, his deadly COVID mismanagement, his disastrous economic policies, or his theft and hoarding of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Bongino stayed by Trump’s side. So now it is, in Bongino’s words, “a sad day,” as he reveals that last week’s program was his final one for Fox News. Forbes Reports that

“Fox News has ended its relationship with Dan Bongino […] Bongino said on his podcast Thursday…’It’s tough. It’s tough to say that. You know, I’ve been there doing hits and working there for ten years…so the show ending was tough. And I want you to know it’s not some big conspiracy. I promise you. There’s no acrimony. This wasn’t some WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension.”

The timing, however, is curious. While Bongino wasn’t among the named defendants in the lawsuits against Fox News (such as Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo), he was a frequent source of flagrantly false commentaries, including several asserting that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from Trump.

In one case he hosted an interview of Trump wherein Trump delivered his tedious complaints about election fraud. Subsequently, the clip that Fox later posted online had cut out those remarks. When told about the editing, Bongino was outraged and pledged to get to the bottom of it. He never did.

SEE THIS: SCAREDY FOX: Why Did Fox News Censor Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ Rant? Pending Lawsuits?

Being canceled by Fox News was surely “tough” for Bongino, Especially since his other pursuits are also collapsing. He was a principle owner of the conservative, crackpots-only Twitter clone, Parler. But just last week It’s new owner announced that they are shutting it down. Variety reports that

“Parler, the self-described “uncancelable free-speech social platform” that catered to right-wing users — which was nearly acquired by Kanye West last year — has been shut down by its new owner.

“’No reasonable person believes that a Twitter clone just for conservatives is a viable business any more,’ Arlington, Va.-based digital media company Starboard said in announcing Friday that it had acquired Parler.”

Bongino will likely find a new home on some other wingnut media outlet. Perhaps Newsmax or One American News (OAN). In the meantime he still has his podcast, and a considerable flock of sheeple following him online.

As for Fox News, they will probably fill his timeslot with an even more radically right-wing shouter. The real question is: Who will be shoved out the door next? Maria Bartiromo’s future is likely hanging by a thread. And Fox president, Suzanne Scott, could not be sleeping well in the wake of the Dominion settlement.

Whatever changes Fox makes will probably be stretched out over time so as to make them appear to be unrelated to the Dominion matter. But it is typical of Rupert Murdoch to make others pay for his failures. So expect more contract “disputes” to be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Fox News Blowhard Dan Bongino Rants About ‘Disinformation’ While Flagrantly Spreading It Himself

Fox News is well known for unleashing furious assaults on their ideological foes that are drenched with blatant falsehoods. It is a daily, even hourly, occurrence. But no one is more adept at bloviating with mouth-foaming anger than the host of their Weekend Hour of Glower, “Unfiltered with Dan Bongino.” A better title might be “Unbalanced.”

Fox News, Dan Bongino

On Saturday’s episode of the program, Bongino ventured into familiar territory as he bellowed bombastically against liberals that he portrayed as disseminators of disinformation. His rancid raging (video below) was typically devoid of substance or any factual basis. He babbled that…

“One of the left’s favorite weapons has been the misinformation, or disinformation, label. They love it. They slap it onto anything that doesn’t tow their political line. They use it to paint real experts and genuine people as conspiracy theorists just to ban voices they don’t like.

“Take White House press secretary Jen Psaki, for example. She’s been pushing this disinformation garbage from the very beginning. Remember this tweet just before the election about Hunter Biden? ‘Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.'”

Bongino’s complaints about “the left” weaponizing information could not be more hypocritical. It’s what he has built his career as a Fox News bullspitter on. It’s what recently got him banned on YouTube. And what he regards as “real experts” are invariably crackpots who are the definition of “conspiracy theorists.”

RELATED: Fox News Ranter Dan Bongino Was Bumped From His Radio Show – Over Vaccine Mandate?

Then, as an example of his theme, Bongino cited a tweet posted by White House press secretary Jen Psaki that was merely linking to a well sourced article about intelligence officials who raised valid concerns about Russian propaganda:

The Politico article revealed that…

“More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed on to a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son ‘has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.'”

So Psaki’s tweet was not only not disinformation, it was affirmed by dozens of intelligence officials. What’s more, those officials weren’t trying to deceive anyone with their letter of concern. They even qualified their analysis, saying that…

“‘We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement,’ the letter reads. But, it continues, ‘there are a number of factors that make us suspicious of Russian involvement.'”

Among the factors they might have been referring to are the fact that the “information” was being provided by known liars, the New York Post and Rudy Giuliani. But Bongino wasn’t through casting ludicrous aspersions. He went on to falsely assert that a New York Times effort to obtain Hunter Biden’s emails validated his allegations of disinformation. But without knowing the contents of the emails, he can’t reasonably make such an assertion. Except on Fox News.

RELATED: SCAREDY FOX: Why Did Fox News Censor Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ Rant? Pending Lawsuits?

What makes this blather all the more despicable is that Bongino himself had engaged in verifiable disinformation the same evening. He displayed a graphic during a segment on his program that was headlined, “Top Ten Most Unhealthy U.S. Cities.” But as it turned out, the cities he displayed, according to his own source, were actually the top ten “healthiest” cities to live in:

So Bongino got it completely backwards. His intention to malign Democrats as being responsible for managing unhealthy cities actually confirmed that they were the best at managing the health of their constituents. In fact, all ten of the least healthy cities in the study were in blood red Republican states.

It was literally impossible for Bongino to be more wrong. And he knew it. In a later re-airing of the segment, the erroneous graphic was removed. However, there was never a correction made or any acknowledgement of the previous lie-filled report. But then no one would have expected that from Fox News anyway. They’re too busy creating new disinformation and false accusations against others.

UPDATE: A week after Bongino’s embarrassingly dishonest report he offered a pitifully insufficient “apology” that simply said that “a graphic was aired with inaccurate information.” He didn’t bother to correct the error or provide the accurate info.

Fox News Ranter Dan Bongino Was Bumped From His Radio Show – Over Vaccine Mandate?

The Great Vaccine Mandate Debate rages on – exclusively on Fox News! Ever since President Biden proposed a plan to save more American lives from the ravages of COVID-19 by getting more people vaccinated, Fox News has engaged in a brazenly dishonest campaign to portray it as tantamount to tyranny. Never mind that Fox News imposed their own stricter mandate prior to Biden’s initiative.

Fox News, Dan Bongino

Among the most hyperbolic blowhards on Fox News making a fuss of this issue is the weekend host of Unfiltered, Dan Bongino. He has recently joined with his Fox colleagues in doubling down as a giant middle finger to Joe Biden’s tyranny.” It was an explicit admission that their opposition to vaccines is rooted in politics, not science or humanity.

Bongino has also babbled his anti-vax banter on his radio show. He even went so far as to pick an on-air fight with his syndicator, Westwood One/Cumulus Media, over their corporate vaccine mandate. Bongino virtually dared Cumulus to fire him for not being vaccinated. And while he is basking in the faux-tough guy image he wants to present, he is still too cowardly to give Fox News the same ultimatum.

Now it is being reported that Bongino has been removed from the schedule this week. Neither Westwood One nor Cumulus is commenting on why they have replaced his show, but Bongino, as is typical of right-wing gasbags, is clucking about it himself:

“Several affiliates have told Radio Ink that Westwood One has put The Dan Bongino Show into ‘best of’ mode for the remainder of the week. His program was not on the radio yesterday. Bongino has been ranting on his show about Cumulus’ vaccine mandate.”

No one has bothered to explain what would constitute the “best of” Bongino. Some one would say that dead air would do the trick. But this is what Bongino had to say about it:

“They didn’t consult with us content providers. I strongly object to the mandate. The fight with them is having a real impact. Behind the scenes it’s getting a little ugly here. I wasn’t on the radio today. I don’t know what they did, played the ‘best of’ or whatever. You don’t treat people this way. You don’t let people go because they insist their body is theirs.”

Bongino has every right to decline to get vaccinated. But he doesn’t have the right to become a potential deadly danger to others. Upwards of 90% of all new coronavirus infections – and deaths – are among the unvaccinated (and most of them are among Fox News viewers). What’s more, corporations have the right and obligation to maintain a safe work environment and provide for the welfare of their employees.

So if Bongino doesn’t want to get vaccinated, he can make that choice. But he must be prepared to accept the consequences. And if he had any integrity he would resign from both his radio gig and his program on Fox News out of a commitment to his “principles,” warped and selfish as they might be.

Fox News Displays its Deadly Hypocrisy on Vaccinations in Two Contradictory Commentaries

In case you haven’t heard it by now, Fox News has been yammering for weeks about the “tyranny” of President Biden, and other rational politicians and pundits, advocating for the wildly popular (according to a Fox News poll) COVID vaccine mandates. They are doing that despite the fact that Fox News has imposed an even stricter mandate on their employees.

Fox News, Vaccine

Last week Fox News host Neil Cavuto revealed on his program that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. He noted that he was vaccinated, but that he had health issues that made him more vulnerable to infection and severe outcomes. His situation was not mentioned again by anyone on Fox News after that until Sunday morning when he appeared on Fox’s MediaBuzz, where he made an impassioned appeal for people to get vaccinated for the sake of others:

“We’ve lost five million globally to this. We’ve lost nearly 800,000 in the U.S. Take the political speaking points and toss them for now. I’m begging you. Toss them. Think of what’s good, not only for yourself, but for those around you. If you don’t want to do it for yourself, if you think it’s a pain in the ass, I get that. But think of others around you. I dare say that people who experience this and see loved ones who’ve been affect by this or, heaven forbid, died from this, are not judging the wisdom of Band-Aids. They’re wishing they got vaccinated. And they didn’t. Don’t let that happen.”

Cavuto’s remarks are commendable and moving, and they are coming from someone whose personal experience could be persuasive. He is speaking for millions of Americans who are at risk themselves, and for their families and friends as well. There’s just one problem with this pleading. Virtually everything else on Fox News contradicts his point of view, an editorial mandate that has made COVID the Pandemic of Fox News. For example, shortly before Cavuto’s heartfelt remarks, Lisa Boothe, another Fox squawking head, told her Fox confederate, Dan Bongino, that this is why she was refusing to get vaccinated:

“I’m doubling down as a giant middle finger to Joe Biden’s tyranny, because now it’s a fight for freedom. Now it’s a fight against tyranny in America and that’s what this is all about.”

That’s right. She isn’t considering the health risks for herself or those around her at all. She couldn’t care less about the human toll of the pandemic or how her obstinance will contribute it. She is just making a hyper-partisan political statement against her deranged impression of what constitutes tyranny. And Bongino nodded along approvingly throughout.

How is what Cavuto has to say on this subject ever going to break through to the audience of Fox News cultists when people like Boothe are spewing such hateful, ignorant nonsense? And it isn’t just Boothe. Cavuto’s commentary won’t be seen by the people who need to see it most. MediaBuzz doesn’t have nearly the audience as Fox’s weekday, primetime programs where anti-vaccine messaging is rampant. Fox’s top rated host, Tucker Carlson, is a rabid anti-vaxxer, as are his colleagues Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.

So while Cavuto is demonstrating compassion for his fellow Americans in the midst of a deadly pandemic, Boothe and the rest of the Fox News roster are flipping them a “giant middle finger” in order to stir up more partisan rancor, regardless of the cost in human lives. That has been Fox’s mission all along. They are convinced that whatever they lose in viewers dying from this virus will be made up by the blind devotion of the survivors. And, of course, the gratitude of America’s most fervent anti-vaxxer, and most divisive hate and fear monger, Donald Trump.

FINALLY! Fox and Friends Host Acknowledges the Strict Vaccine Mandate at Fox News

Last month President Biden announced his plan to relieve the suffering and tragic loss due to the COVID pandemic. The plan included proposals aimed at getting more Americans vaccinated in the workplace, in schools, and in government agencies.

Fox News, Cov-Aid

Biden’s plan was received with overwhelming popular support by the American people. That popularity was even affirmed in a poll by Fox News, the nation’s most staunchly pro-COVID network.

Ever since Biden’s plan was made public, and in stark contrast to the results of their own poll, Fox News doubled down on their anti-vaccine rhetoric. They went particularly hard on the concept of mandates, which they maligned as communist decrees and instruments of tyranny. Never mind that the corporate policy at Fox News contained an even stricter mandate than the one in Biden’s plan.

Undeterred by reality, the squawking heads at Fox News lashed out Biden and any of the companies that were implementing vaccine mandates ahead of his initiative, which has not yet gone into effect. But for some reason, they never bothered to mention the “oppressive” mandate under which they themselves were forced to toil. It was always some other enterprise that was abusing its employees.

Well, that error of omission officially ended on Wednesday morning when the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends brought up the subject. Co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade had a bit of a testy exchange:

Doocy: Our company, like a lot of companies have vaccine requirements. We either had to have gotten the shot or get tested every day. And when we’re in common areas everybody needs to wear a mask. There are a lot of companies coast to coast – I was just looking at brand new ones, General Electric, Union Pacific – are requiring their employees to get the shots. They joined Tyson Food, Walmart, Boeing, IBM, Raytheon, already on board.
Kilmeade: So they’re saying get the shot or you’re fired.
Doocy: Essentially.
Kilmeade: Fantastic. Be prepared to lose 10 to 15 percent of your workforce. I hope that’s okay.
Doocy: Well, people are getting accommodations in certain circumstances.

Setting aside Kilmeade’s counterfactual alarmism (there haven’t been any reports of any significant workforce resignations due to vaccine mandates), Doocy’s belated acknowledgement that Fox News has a corporate mandate is a milestone for the network. It comes as his primetime colleagues are still disseminating disinformation, such as Tucker Carlson’s false proclamation that vaccines don’t work.

Carlson tops the list of those at Fox who have attacked mandates at other companies, while demonstrating their cowardice by ignoring the one that he is silently obeying. Dan Bongino is another, who recently pretended to threaten to quit his radio network because of its vaccine mandate. Although he hasn’t had the guts to say anything about quitting Fox.

It will be interesting to see if any other Fox hosts admit that their employer has a vaccine mandate. But either way, we can rest assured that Fox will continue to deprive their viewers of honest information about the pandemic that is literally a matter of life and death.

As an example, Fox host Neil Cavuto announced yesterday that he tested positive for COVID and is taking precautions due to health conditions that increase his risk. He strongly encouraged viewers to get vaccinated. However, Cavuto’s disclosure and advice has not been mentioned at all on Fox News ever since, although it has been reported on MSNBC and CNN. That should tell everyone something about Fox News’ commitment to the welfare of their audience.

Fearful Trump Pressures Fox News to Spread His ‘Big Lie’ Despite Billion Dollar Lawsuits

Desperation is setting in as Donald Trump comes to realize that his whining and tantrums are not getting through to anyone but his glassy-eyed cult disciples. Having been banished from much of social media, Trump resorts to releasing statements via email that are dutifully tweeted by his spokes-shill, Liz Harrington (who is violating Twitter’s rules against circumventing a ban).

Donald Trump, Fox News

For the past several months Trump has had to rely on the low-rated, glorified video blogs of Newsmax and One America News Network. Apparently they are not achieving the results Trump hoped for with regard to building his insurrection crusade and stuffing his pockets with cash of those he’s defrauded. Meanwhile, his alternative social media efforts have been predictably disappointing.

Trump doesn’t even have Fox News to lean on anymore, as the network has refrained from their prior practice of airing everything he did or said without interruption. And it certainly doesn’t help that Trump has been bashing the Fox News Ministry of Propaganda relentlessly.

Now Trump may be having second thoughts about his seething hostility toward Fox News. On Wednesday morning he released a statement that was virtually drenched with desperation and regret at having renounced his Fox friends. He wrote that…

“Fox doesn’t understand that it is missing a rating bonanza by not covering the 2020 Election Fraud, the Crime of the Century, which is being exposed throughout many states on a daily basis. They are also doing a disservice to our Country. People have turned them off!”

Let’s be clear: What Trump is really saying is that Fox News should be helping him to disseminate his “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him. But For Trump to criticize Fox News on the basis of ratings is laughable. Even though they have recently suffered massive declines over the past year (as have most television networks), they are still the top rated cable news network. And if running with the “Big Lie” would be such a “rating bonanza,” then why are Newsmax and OAN in the dumpster?

What’s more, Trump’s assertion that there is evidence of his preposterous claims of fraud “being exposed throughout many states on a daily basis,” is simply delusional. The only thing that is being exposed more on a daily basis is Trump’s treasonous efforts to stage a coup.

Trump may discover that Fox News is not going to be as resolutely supportive of his crackpottery, particularly with regard to voter fraud. They are currently being sued for $1.6 billion dollars by Dominion voting Systems for making unfounded allegations of tampering with the the election data. The lawyers at Fox News are so sensitive to their legal liabilities that they edited one of their own programs (Dan Bongino Unfiltered) to remove potentially defamatory content before posting it online.

Consequently, it seems unlikely that Fox is going to accede to Trump’s threats and start supporting the “Big Lie” narrative. They have too much at stake and know that the legal case against them is strong. So Trump is going to have to live with the miniscule coverage he’s getting from Newsmax and OAN (who, as of this week, are also being sued). And the thought of that is filling him with dread, because he knows that won’t be sufficient to spread his ludicrous propaganda. But he apparently doesn’t know that his feeble threats are not going to get him what he wants. His influence is waning as he spirals ever downward into insignificance.

SCAREDY FOX: Why Did Fox News Censor Trump’s ‘Big Lie’ Rant? Pending Lawsuits?

A startling event occurred on Sunday that may be unique in modern times. Donald Trump’s spokes-shill, Liz Harrington, posted a tweet that exposed a bona fide case of media censorship. But this assault on free speech was not the work of the usual suspects among the “fake news” purveyors. It wasn’t CNN or the New York Times that clipped Trump’s officious oratory.

Donald Trump, Fox News, White House

Nope. Harrington caught the thought police at Fox News in the act of making unauthorized edits to Trump’s divine discourse during an interview with Fox News host Dan Bongino. Most of this segment was filled with the typical Trumpian adoration by the Fox host and hysterical incoherence by Trump. But Harrington noticed something terribly wrong when she went to post Trump’s sermon on Twitter (which is a flagrant violation of their terms of service. Feel free to report it). She tweeted her discovery saying…

“WOW. So I went to post a clip from President Trump’s great interview on @dbongino last night, and lo and behold, Fox News EDITED and CHANGED what President Trump said, censoring out 45 accurately describing the Fake Election.”

First of all, it’s “former” President Trump. Secondly, it was more of a love-fest than an interview. Thirdly, what was edited out was not accurate. That said, she was quite right that some editing took place. What was excised was Trump lying again about the 2020 presidential election being “stolen” from him. He said that…

“You have a Fake Election, you have an election with voter abuse and with voter fraud like nobody has ever seen before and based on that and based on what happened they are destroying our Country.”

So the question is why would Fox News cut out this 14 second portion of a 16 minute interview? It could hardly be due to time constraints.

There are, however, a couple of plausible reasons to expunge this particular commentary. Fox News is already the subject of two multibillion dollar lawsuits (one by Dominion Voting Systems, and another by Smartmatic) for defamation as result of the network’s dishonest assertions, on Trump’s behalf, that that the election was “rigged.”

So Fox News has a strong self-interest in avoiding exposing themselves to further legal liability by providing additional evidence that supports the case against them. That would be sufficient reason to cut Trump’s incessant whining about voter fraud for which he he has never been able to provide any proof in the 60-plus court cases he lost.

What’s more, by posting Trump’s lies, Fox News could be placing themselves at risk of being banned by Twitter – just like Trump – for posting false and potentially harmful misinformation. It is Trump’s lies about the election that incited the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th.

Fox News has already shown that they are worried about being associated with Trump’s “Big Lie.” Last month Fox refused to air an ad by the MyPillow conspiracy crackpot, Mike Lindell. The ad was to promote his “cyber symposium” that he said would “prove” that Trump won the election. Needless to say, the “proof” exists only in his diseased mind. However, Fox News wasn’t going to take the chance of getting further into legal jeopardy, so they nixed the ad. And in retaliation, Lindell pulled all of his ads from Fox News. And since MyPillow is Tucker Carlson’s biggest advertiser, that leaves his show with hardly any major ads at all.

It will be interesting to see how this censorship melodrama plays out. Currently Trump’s cult disciples are in a tizzy online, lambasting Fox News as the “enemy of the people,” and pledging to boycott the network forever. Harrington is appearing on whatever mousy Fox News wannabe that will book her to bad mouth Fox for caving in to the “Deep State.” And Trump is still stuck with with his thumb in his mouth, unable to get his malicious messaging out. Could this be any more fun? Stay tuned and have plenty of popcorn ready.

HUH? On Fox News Trump Asks ‘Imagine If There Was Coronavirus When I Was President’

For most of his time in the White House Donald Trump’s mental acuity was questioned. And for good reason. Despite his own hysterical references to himself as a stable genius,” Trump also believed that stealth fighters are actually invisible, that windmills cause cancer, that we should nuke hurricanes, that George Washington’s Army took over airports, and that injecting bleach will cure COVID. It’s not exactly a record of cognitive fitness.

Donald Trump, Insane, Straight Jacket

In his post-presidency, Trump has not fared any better. And on Saturday night he displayed a deficiency of cerebral functioning that should trigger alarm among his medical caregivers. Trump called into Fox News for a tongue-bathing “interview” by the ultra-bombastic Dan Bongino, a pundit whose experience consists of having been an NYPD officer, a three time loser for Congress, and a big mouth with which to shout down anyone who disagrees with him.

During the doting discussion Bongino sought Trump’s views on COVID mask mandates. “You didn’t have as much information when you got in office,” Bongino softballed. “It was a new virus, obviously. Where do you stand on these mandates?” Setting aside the fact that Trump knew very well the deadly severity of the coronavirus early on, he nevertheless replied with an incoherent jumble of nonsense:

“Could you imagine if I were president right now and we had this massive attack from the coronavirus – you know, now they like to call it, they have new names and they have other new names – but it’s exactly what we had, we had the same thing. If that were me, they would say ‘what a horrible thing, what a horrible job.’ I don’t ever hear that. And these are numbers in some cases that are equivalent to what it was, but we don’t hear that.”

https://twitter.com/Acyn/status/1424195207088676865

Does Trump really think that people need to “imagine” what it would have been like if there were pandemic while he was in office? The obituaries of more than 600,000 Americans might serve as a grim reminder. And the people did say “what a horrible job.” Then they voted him out of office by a seven million vote margin that, in his reality-averse stupor, he still refuses to acknowledge.

However, Trump actually contradicted himself in the same comment. He began by suggesting that it required imagination to conceive of a viral pandemic during his term. Then follows that by conceding that it was “exactly what we had.” So which was it? And leave out the babbling about different names.

Of course, neither Trump nor Bongino recognize that the current wave of COVID is the result of the new Delta variant. Nor do they acknowledge that the horrendous surge is mainly among the unvaccinated, whose resistance has largely been driven by Trump and Fox News. If they wanted to mitigate the harm, they could, but they obviously don’t want to.

This is the reprehensible level of discourse exhibited by Trump and his fluffers on Fox News. And yet, Trump is still regarded as the de facto leader of the Republican Party. Which tells you everything you need to know about the GOP, Fox News and Trump.

THE HORROR! Joe Biden is ‘Boring’ and It’s Driving Fox News and Republicans Insane

The rage addicted disciples of Fox News and the Trump Republican Party are undergoing a severe bout of withdrawal in the opening weeks of the Joe Biden presidency. They are no longer being fed massive megadoses of melodrama on a daily (hourly?) basis, and it’s gnawing at them to the point of physical dysfunction.

Fox News, Joe Biden

This is the direct result of exposure to a former reality TV game show host and fake gazillionaire occupying the White House for four years and pumping blind fury into the veins of gullible cultists. The subsequent dependence on a steady supply of contrived outrage has produced a pandemic of psychotic sufferers.

Among the first casualties of this affliction was Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas (or Cancun, depending on the weather). Last week Cruz complained to Sean Hannity of Fox News that Biden’s capacity for stirring up extraneous excitements was insufficient to fuel the nation’s engines of anger:

Hannity: “Boring but radical” kind of sums it up. Explain.
Cruz: You know, you think about the last two months. I think Joe Biden made a political decision – and it was probably a pretty good political decision – to be very boring. The last four years Donald Trump was anything but boring. […] But it is all a subterfuge. It is all a mask designed to hide what is an incredibly radical policy poicy agenda.

So it’s official. “Sleepy” Joe is both boring and a national menace who is masterminding the end of Western civilization. It’s downright diabolical. Never mind that the president isn’t supposed to be “entertaining.” That’s what reality TV drama queens like Trump are for.

What these ultra-rightists consider entertaining is yelling at reporters, insulting women, maligning Democrats (and even Republicans) who disagree, bigoted ranting, Capitol insurrections, and dividing America. What they consider boring is making real progress on the COVID-19 pandemic, racial equity, mitigating climate change, improving healthcare, and reforming immigration. In short, they are bored by competence, compassion, and honesty.

That puts the Trump Confederates at a distinct disadvantage since their criteria for excellence requires the unique characteristics of Trump: Lying pathologically, bragging profusely, whining pathetically, and attacking ponderously. Anything short of that is vilified as the new yawn-inducing opiate of the masses. That point was affirmed on Thursday by Fox’s Senior Rage-aholic, Dan Bongino, who worried that his future in bombastic radio ranting was in jeopardy due to Biden’s troublesome sense of calm:

“It’s just terrible for talk radio. I think Biden is a disaster for the country and his ideas are an atrocity. But he’s boring. He’s just boring. […] I’ll tell you that it’s made me, I believe, a better broadcaster and host because you really had to dig. You’ve had to find interesting angles to stories. And Donald Trump was just a cornucopia of material.”

Exactly! It is totally unacceptable that Biden is forcing these shlock jockeys to “dig” for faux scandals to blame on him. Trump always provided a steady stream of bullpucky to mine for material. Now the poor schnooks on Fox News have to peddle such inanities as Dr. Seuss cancelations, Mr. Potato Head gendering, imaginary immigrant caravans, and Grammy porn. It was even pointed out on Fox by Democratic pundit Chris Hahn, who told the ladies on “Outnumbered” that they would just have to live with the fact that…

United states senators got nothing to complain about Joe Biden because people are so happy with him. They’ve gotta pick a fight over whether John Kerry wore his mask for the entire flight.

What may be worst of all for the Fox News crowd is that Biden’s scheme to give relief to the American people is working. His approval rating just hit 62% and shows no sign of slowing down. If this sort of atrocity continues, Fox may have to abandon their long-held editorial mission of riling up the rank and file (with an emphasis on rank). They may have to concede that being boring is an asset that attests to leadership and competency. After all, no one gets overexcited because everything is going along smoothly.

If You Thought Fox News Would Be More Moderate in a Post-Trump World, Think Again!

With less than two weeks until Donald Trump is officially stripped of his presidential duties (which he hasn’t been performing anyway), Fox News is sending their audience of radical evangelical conservatives a clear message that they intend to continue their mission as the preeminent voice of wing-nuttery in America.

Donald Trump, Fox News, Fake

The network that has served as Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda for the last four years is shifting from it’s strictly pro-Trump stance to one that is more broadly anti-Biden and anti-liberal. And as an added feature, Fox News programming appears to be pursuing an even more extremist right-wing ideology that is even farther removed from reality.

On Monday morning’s Fox and Friends, several segments proudly skipped off the rails with utterly fantastical presentations of Bizarro World news alerts. Take this segment with Fox’s “Judge” Jeanine Pirro, for example, where she tried to illustrate the differences between Democrats and Republicans:

“This is the difference between the left when they are in power and the right when they are in power. When the Republicans are in power everything is polite and genteel. And when the Democrats come in they’re gonna strip your First Amendment free speech. They’re gonna suppress you, cancel you, impeach you. They don’t care about the business of the American people.”

“Polite and genteel” Republicans? It’s pretty safe to presume that Pirro’s GOP confederates don’t approve of whatever mind-altering pharmaceutical she’s been gumming. Republicans are notorious for their raging hostility and division, especially during the Trump years. What does Pirro find “polite” about accusations that Democrats will destroy America? And how is it “genteel” to charge that the media is “the enemy of the people”?

Furthermore, Pirro needs to provide some evidence that Democrats have ever stripped anyone of their First Amendment rights. To the contrary, it’s Republicans who are constantly clamoring to shut down free speech. And they started the impeachment thing with Bill Clinton over his private sexual encounters when they couldn’t find actual proof of any illegality related to his presidential duties.

Pirro went on to associate the deplatforming of the ultra-rightist Twitter alternative, Parler. “What we’re seeing,” she alleged, “is a kind of censorship that is akin to a Kristallnacht.” Actually, what we’re seeing is someone who has no idea that Kristallnacht – the Night of Broken Glass – had nothing to do with censorship. It was a violent assault on a Jewish community by Hitler’s thugs. So it was much more akin what Trump’s thugs did last week when they assaulted Congress. And it was disgusting that Pirro would exploit it so shamelessly to advance her ignorance and lies.

To elaborate on Fox’s new obsession with the welfare of insurrectionist speech, they brought in Dan Bongino, a Fox News contributor, far-right blowhard, and Parler’s founder. Bongino ranted incoherently about the absence of “free markets” online because…

“Twitter and Facebook are subsidized by the United States government – a law, Section 230 – where they’re allowed to pull down or leave up whatever they want. And they’re immune from lawsuits due to 230.”

Bongino then complains that Parler, which gets the same benefits under the law, was taken down and didn’t get the “trillion dollar” government subsidy. That may be because there was no trillion dollar subsidy for any of these websites. He’s literally making this stuff up as he goes. It’s also clear that he doesn’t know what Section 230 is. If he did he wouldn’t complain about its provisions to indemnify websites (like his) from slander lawsuits based on comments that their users post.

Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade focused on the right’s main argument against impeachment. and it’s a doozy:

To be clear, Kilmeade is proposing terrorism as a valid means of protest. He is telling the terrorists that if they want to force the hand of government, just engage in acts of violence – even murder. Then, when the “country is ready to explode” because “the President said repeatedly that he was robbed,” insist that “good leadership would bring down the temperature.”

In other words, give in to the terrorists, let them off the hook, and comply with their demands for fear of further violence. Which is funny because that just happens to be the terrorist’s strategy. Which should make you wonder whose side Kilmeade is on.

For that matter, we should also wonder whose side Fox News is on. As if we didn’t know. If this is an indication of the direction that Fox is moving for the post-Trump era, then it’s clear that they intend to continue to be a divisive and destructive factor in American media and politics. It’s what they were founded to do. And it will be all the more necessary to remain vigilant and prepared to expose their biases, lies, and nefarious motives going forward.
